Top level sushi place. Loved it

Such fresh and delicious sushi. Service was 12/10 kind.

Very disappointing experience at this place from the so called receptionist working during the day. She s outrightly racist, blatantly discriminatory and very disrespectful. I will never recommend this place.

Get the Spicy Maki Trio. So good. Only gave it 4 stars because sometimes it s been hit or miss. But lately been super happy with the quality and it s ready in the 10 mins usually

This place is usually pretty solid but shrink-flation is real! Order left me sad and hungry. Very disappointing experience.

From the moment I walked in, they didnt even notice me as a customer and told me to sit anywhere without any kindness. The table was messy with spilled water, and I almost ended up with wet clothes. I called them to place my order more than three times, but they didnt come. I understand that they might be busy, so I walked to the counter and I said I wanted to order in person, server gave me an annoyed look and told me to wait. The salad wasnt fresh, and they didnt even to ask if there was anything else I needed. Ive never seen a sushi restaurant like this before. I should have not give a tip at all, my mistake.

Love Kibo! I used to go there when it first opened as Asahi on Walker Ave and Summerhill. Cozy and jazzy music with amazing sushi! I ve been going there ever since! It s been now ~12 years and I always bring family and friends and now they are hooked too. :) best sushi in TO!

A little chilly due to a brisk take out and delivery service. Food was great and the staff was accommodating to serve a birthday cake we had provided.

A shadow of the Bloor street location. Service was quick, but not as courteous as we expect. All nigiri and uramaki pieces we ordered were falling apart and drenched in sauces that overpowered the sushi - see photo. The Kibo on Bloor, and their delivery service are much better than this location!

rude customer service

Ordered beef udon noodles and the beef was shredded SO SMALL it was impossible to eat previously ordered the same dish and the beef was in strips. Disappointed.

Tried calling, phone was off. Got to the location, literally stood for 20m for someone to take my order. They seem to be understaffed, having a hard time handling three tables plus the online orders in a regular work day. Left with hands empty, looking for another place to eat. It is not the first time I have a bad experience in this location. I suggest you avoid them during lunch and dinner time, or look for other locations.

Used to come here all the time, but the awful customer service I got today ruined this place for me. I placed an order through ritual like I usually do. The lady with bleached/pinkish hair on POS missed it, so ritual had to cancel it for me since 10 minutes had passed. She then insisted over and over again that I was the one who canceled the order, so I have to pay in store and wait 5 minutes for my food. I ended up waiting for over 10 minutes. At no point did she apologize for the inconvenience or for missing my order. She didnt offer any compensation either. When my order was ready, I got up to get it from her, and she swung the bag past my hand and put it on the counter beside me. Her attitude throughout the whole situation was horrible. Even just an apology would have been nice.

I did an order and by mistake I put the wrong address. Not even a minute after they accept the order, I canceled it. So I called Kibo to solve my issue and I was told to come and pick it up my order but the venue is too far from my place and it would take more time than i had before they close. So the lady started to be very rude and wasn t showing any solutions for my issue. Fortunately uber eats solved. I don t recommend this place. Worst customer service experience ever.

Kibo Sushi - Summerhill. Its disappointing that the customer service was lacking, and not providing chopsticks or tissues for a delivery order is definitely inconvenient. Having to eat with your hands is not ideal and reflects poorly on their service. I hope they take my feedback into account to improve their offerings.

Nasty

Definitely the worst of all kibo locations, the cashier with the blonde streak seems to be a usual suspect in the negative reviews with her attitude. The rolls are sloppy and fall apart on contact. Unfortunate, as the bloor w/Charlotte street/St.clair and other locations are all great and consistent.

Ordered through uber many times in past with no issues. So give 3 star. But 1 star tonight. Vegetable tempera ice cold and soggy. The salad (and I know it s a small side salad) but literally had 7 bits of lettuce and some shaved carrot. Usually the small container is full. Looks like they ran out of lettuce with mine. Rolls also usually 5 star tonight 1. Maybe too busy, the order took much longer than usual. Was the preparing order that took 30min+. The driver was here in 6 min after arriving at kibo. Be a while til I order again.

I was a regular up until Feb 14 on Valentine s Day. It was the same girl from tonight that treated me in a bad way and I decided to never return. Tonight it was raining and the local pub was way too busy. I wanted a drink and some food with mom. So we decided to give this place another chance. Bad idea! We asked for two glasses of Chardonnay. One glass was badly cracked and about to break. She didn t notice. I brought it to her attention. Before I could add to what else I wanted to say, she took the glass and came back with a new one. I then finally asked her if it is by ounce for wine serving. As it looked like a wine shot not a wine glass. I asked her to top it off a bit and happy to pay extra if needed. With a dirty look she topped it off. Food came. Food was great. We finished. Put the plates to the side or end of the table. Both, mom and I noticed she saw the dirty dishes as she looked over a few times. Never came to clear the table, yet alone ask us if the food was ok. If we need anything else. Or to inform they are closing. She left us like that until 9:30 on the dot. Then she came over asking us if she can bring the bill. Like we have much choice ha! On the way out she thanked us. Told her thanks but never coming back again. They just lost a regular for good. Too bad for the chefs. They make great food! Picture attached is how we sat for about 20min without anyone else in the restaurant. Table was at the front by her service desk. Very, very hard to miss.

The size of the salmon on the sushi here is so small that s pathetic, worst place I ve been to sorry if you respect your money go to another sushi restaurant in town

Food is bad. Heavy mayo goop on everything. Barely any fish in the premium rolls or other dishes. Whoever is working this kitchen doesn t have good taste or skills. Dishes are DIRTY. Look inside the blue water cups. They have built up gunk in the bottom. Disgusting. Service is ok. Friendly-ish but inattentive and requires multiple follow ups. Cute place, nice atmosphere, but doesn t follow through.

Not authentic at all. Poor sushi quality. I ordered Sushi Combo C based on the picture in memu. Something totally different sushi (fish that are cheaper than in the pic) came out. This place is a total rip off.

Honey garlic karrage came with 12 pieces of chicken and a bigger amount of fried oil garbage!!! What s this.. some sort of shock absorb function??

The rolls all exploded so much that I had to eat them with a spoon haha. And the rice was undercooked and hard. Rolls ripped up so I had to use a spoon. Rice was not cooked properly, giving it a hard texture.

Comically bad. The only reason I d ever return is to get my $20 back.

Ordered two party platters Maki tray B and Ma/Sa/Su tray A, yesterday from the Summerhill location for $91.42 . The trays were assembled carelessly and the lettuce was old and wilted. The spicy rolls were definitely spoiled. The others adjacent too had a funny taste/smell. Called them up to inform and the woman who answered said that her Manager said they would refund me $6.00. No apology. I told her that she could keep the $6.00, and i will just write the review. Her answer was OK! THANK YOU! We have ordered platters from other Kibo locations and never had any problems. This was the first time we ordered from the Summerhill location and will never go back again. Disappointed!

Absolutely delicious sushi/sashimi. I didnt have soup but my friend said it was possibly the best miso soup shed ever had. Reasonably priced, cute little booths, prompt and friendly service. Will 100% be returning and absolutely recommend.

Been to a handful of Kibo locations in the GTA, the quality is always great and consistent. I always get the green dragon roll but all other rolls Ive tried are yummy as well. Everything is fresh and well made!

NEVER ORDER from this kibo location. everything was way less than fresh, nearly inedible. photos of everything are completely misleading and portion sizes are crazy small. if i could give this place a zero star i would.

Missing items ( although Uber refunded promptly). The quality of shushing is so so.

They are very hypocrite. I picked my delivery and almost close to deliver to the customer,they called me and said we forgot an item and beg me to come back. Even I was tired and another delivery I came back and picked the item. I was about to deliver to the customer, they called me again and said we forgot another item again, I couldnt come back right away,but I came back after delivering my other order at my time and cost and even went offline not to get more requests from uber.i got the missing item and deliver it to the customer just because I didnt want them to have issues with uber and customer. Think what they did to me. They gave me thums down and my rating became 99% fo the first time after starting as an uber walker. Shame on them.

I love this place. Eat in or delivery...always yummy...always super good. Everyone should try Kibo Summerhill.... If I could give 10 stars I would. This location in Summerhill has always provided great quality Japanese food. Great flavors, good portion, yummy. Good value.

We visited here for the first time. Pleasant atmosphere, the portions are large and tasty. For lovers of simple Japanese food, this place is recommended! Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes have the option of getting a vegetarian substitute.

Plenty choice and very nice food.

Overall, everything was extremely fresh. Miso Soup had a lot of flavor, and there were more ingredients used in it, compared to other places. Salad was fresh, different variety of veggies used in it, and the salad dressing tasted sweet, and I could also taste the citrus in it. I ordered an unagi don, and it was quite fresh, and it was very flavorful. I like that they put lots of avocado on the unagi don too, because it tastes good with the eel. Definitely coming back again.

I ordered a aburisalmon roll. Roll was the worst and I will never eat again.

I tried Maki C set and Spicy Yum roll here, it was amazing , fresh and tasty. I will definitely order again

Best sushi in the area.

Wait time forever.

Order Kibo through Uber eats around 8:30 PM for 2 people. After eating, we both started having discomfort in stomach during the night through to the next day. I also vomited in the morning due to how my stomach felt. They are clearly sending out old fish/food which is disgusting. It is annoying to have to pay 60+$ for food poisoning. Food safety surrounding fish should be taken very seriously. Never ordering from them again. UPDATE: Food Safety inspectors went to investigate and found that the fish was not refrigerated properly and was kept near uncooked meat products.

Ordered the 32 piece platter, only receive 28 pieces. One of the rolls was missing. The avocado on the dragon roll seemed old but was slathered with a brown sauce so I couldn t figure out if it was the sauce that made it look brown or if it was an avocado going bad. The rice was horribly seasoned and tasted stale. The tempura shrimp in the dragon roll was not crispy, and there was also too much cucumber that overwhelmed the roll. The dragon roll was also poorly rolled that it was falling apart every time I picked a piece up. The spicy salmon roll was also awful. It was basically rice and spicy mayo, without being spicy. It was pretty sickening. The sushi wasn t great either, the stale and poorly seasoned rice made each one taste bad, and made me question the freshness of their seafood. They also gave way too much ginger and not enough wasabi for the platter. The owner needs to reassess this location s sushi chefs. This will be the last time I order from this horrible location. The staff should be ashamed. If I could give 0 stars I would. Disgusting.

Delicious! Even their veggie sushi is delicious!

Hubs got the Chicken Katsu Don meal, he said it was good. I had the vegetarian maki set; it too was good. Id eat here, again.

The worst Kibo location yet. I routinely order the veggie udon across other locations and while your mileage may vary, this location skimps tremendously on ingredients.

Remarkably poor quality of everything involved. Special requests were actively not followed and inside my maki was portions of an avocado pit and shell. I cannot recommend this place any less! Like many of the reviews on Google we have also had great experiences with the other Kibo locations but this one has always had issues and finding hard pits in my food is the absolute last straw. It is embarrassing the quality of food they are serving to people. Stay away!

I was surprised to find that our age tofu was basically fried chicken. Vegetarians finding meat is never fun.

Pretty good sushi, great service. Parking was a challenge at this location but everything was pretty good.

I was surprised they didnt have kimchi Im not sure if they were just sold out for the day but was told they dont have it. We had been going to the Avenue road location and my wife mentioned she didnt care for the food this time here. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day or whats going on cuz generally we love kibo.

Snow roll is a new favourite! Definitely a good place for some fresh sushi. My girlfriends new favourite sushi bar (she has good taste).

Sushi is really fresh. Small cozy place. Not for large crowds. The rice to fish ratio is idea to have the best of both worlds.

Food is good and my coworkers enjoys the food there, but I found pricey for the portions that seems a bit smaller for me.

My experience with delivery for this restaurant was incredibly poor. I received sloppily packed sushi made with rotten ingredients. You should be ashamed of charging 70+ dollars for brown avocados and a disgusting presentation

Yummers! This was one of the best mouth-watering burgers Ive had grace my taste buds in a long time. The waitress was prompt and polite. The desserts must be sprinkled with crack because I just craved for more and more. I was happy to see how clean everything was. Easily earned their 5 stars!

Sushi is amazing but the delivery is atrocious. Multiple orders have resulted in forgotten dishes and very little sauce. This is the only restaurant where at least one thing has gone wrong with every single order. You can find better sushi places in the area for sure.

Worst sushi I have ever received. 12 of my 24 rolls had nothing inside them and they covered then with a big pile of tempura bits as if i wouldnt notice they were missing the insdes. I paid extra so spicy mayo in top as well on mine and they missed half my rolls. I am honestly so mad that I just paid money for this.

Dont eat here. Not following covid-19 protocols. In the 10 minutes I spent waiting for my takeout, not one kitchen staff was wearing a mask and I watched as they repeatedly touched their faces without washing hands. Blatant disrespect for city by-laws and customer safety. Gross!

Fresh Sushi.

2.5 stars really. sushi and sashimi is ok. the spicy tuna and salmon rolls are horrible.

always the best mid range sushi there is in toronto in my opinion the prices are very reasonable, the fish is fresh. the presentation is detailed and the flavor is consistent. this is my go to sushi spot for takeout and dine in on a casual evening.

Its okay. Service is fine. Portions seem abit on the small side. And my sashimi fish was not cold to the touch but rather luke warm. Ths only real advantage is location. If you have access to wheels, there are better restaurants.

Great little spot! Went there early on a Saturday evening and got seated at one of their wooden booths. Ordered the soft shell crab, chicken gyoza, a couple of bento boxes. Everything was super fresh - even the gyoza are fresh and handmade. Service was excellent. 10% discount it paying in cash!

I ordered a Bento box for takeout that surprisingly came to $18. The chicken was cold and overseasoned because they know that it is flavourless filler. The food was bad. And passable for maybe $7 but for $18 there are many better options.

Met with some friends here and it was great. The prices were very fair and the service was great. Its a small place for Sunmerhill, but worth it.

Medium to low quality place. Do not expect good sushi from here or fresh fish or good sized fish pieces. I have ordered from here over 20 times and am frequently disappointed by the varying quality and lack of freshness of fish plus they chintzy fish portions. Most disappointing is anything that they represent as being spicy salmon (eg in a roll) is mostly tempura crumbs mixed wtih spicy sauce and little or no actual fish! Have been disappointed too many times and will not be going back

Sushi is lovely food and prominent dish in Canada, among Japanese sushi is their favorite dish they love that food. I serve this dish very often I know its good food.

By far a waste of my 13.50. I ordered a chicken teriyaki dinner and I had to throw it out. It was packed with salt....I wouldve turned around to return it but I was already at finch station. Im extremely disappointed. Its like they intentionally loaded the meal with salt. Never ever returning here again!!!!

Amazing food fast. Love the platters and what the Chef chooses....can order the same thing, get variety, and know it will be great. Brown rice all day!
