Decent price and great place to have fresh seafood

This place is amazing, never fails! The staff are super friendly, and overall the service is great. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant along with the decor. The food is always very fresh and extremely tasty! This is my go to spot and I have yet to be disappointed.

A hidden gem! This is, hands down, the best sushi spot within at least a 20 km radius. The fish is always super fresh, prepared with excellence, and super delicious. Enough about the food though - the staff are AMAZING. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely just nice people. Highly recommend this spot!

A great little well kept neighborhood secret! A classic Japanese menu with a great sushi bar and lots of inventive and modern dishes. The food is fresh, high quality and expertly made and the staff are fantastic! A weekly destination of mine. I recommend the Saltu roll! Parking: If the lot is full you can park on a nearby street or the large lot across the street.

I loved the sashimi roll and the noodle soup but THERE IS NO MISO SOUP :( service tooked TWO HOURS FOR A ROLL BOAT >:( mostly the interior of the building was decent but also new. This restaurant was okay tho.

Great place, I have driven by here many times and never actually paid attention, alas what a fool I was. It is one of the best sushi places on Scarborough, quiet, cozy with a great service Staff. The food was prepared fast, we also ate it fast because it was so delicious. The prices were fair for the amount of food we got, which was about 5 dishes, we only paid 65 plus tip. So no complaints there, truly a hidden gem of Scarborough

Visited this fantastic sushi spot to satisfy my craving, and it exceeded expectations! Enjoyed the miso soup, Sundae roll, and Spicy California roll immensely. Ended up ordering more, including the Hurricane roll, which was equally delightful. The staff is exceptional, the ambiance cozy, and the food incredibly tasty. Definitely my new favorite sushi spot! Highly recommend giving it a try. Huge shoutout to the staff!

Cozy restaurant with delicious and fresh sushi

Exceptional service from the waitresses and owners. Ordered set of combo with sushi, sashimi and rolls, assorted tempura and age dashi tofu. Everything tasted really good, inside had nice, warm atmosphere. Will definitely come back for sure if I am around the area.

I didn t expect to find a place with superb quality fish in Scarborough but happy that I was proved wrong! All the dishes that we had were so good and the prices during lunch are reasonable. When my partner and I stepped in at around lunch it was empty, not even 10 mins later it was packed. Everyone who works here has done a great job with creating a welcoming environment. Parking: Parking lot gets busy and is tight

Cute little Japanese restaurant in a little plaza. The restaurant is only a few minutes from my house so I thought I would order a variety to give this sushi restaurant a fair try. I order 3 different cooked food, sashimi, classic rolls and special rolls for family dinner. Sadly, not sure how they got a 4.6 google rating. Cooked food was below par. Sashimi was decent, but nothing special. The California roll rice was dried out like it was made many hours ago and was sitting around. Thank goodness the rice and taste of the special rolls didn t disappoint. Maybe that s what people ordered to give that high review. Unfortunately, I won t be going back unless to order special rolls only for a pot luck or something. I also didn t like their salad dressing, but that is purely my personal taste, not a fan of citrus peel flavour. Oh yeah, one more thing, they offer 10% off if u pay by cash for take out would have been nice if they mention when u place ur order over the phone. So I pay by credit card

Small, relatively unknown sushi place that hits well above its weight class. Food is incredible. Every single time I go it is perhaps the best sushi in toronto. Fresh, solid portions, food is delicious, and I hope they continue to do well. If you havent gone here, you need to. This is possibly the last sushi place youll need to discover in the GTA. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options.

Nice and clean Japanese restaurant under a new management. Fresh sashimi and the tempura vegetables were cooked to perfection - soft and tasty - unlike most others. Prices are decent to the amount of food served with great care and friendliness and politeness. Visited today (Jan 8, 2024) and the food standards are maintained.

Four of us went there for lunch. The food was decent. I had a bento box with tempura and it was pretty standard.

Late night dinner we walked in and ordered fresh and I mean fresh sushi ready before 10 mins.. got home the display or food was amazing.. then the first bite I knew it was going to be amazing sushi.. my boyfriend and I havent had sushi that tasted like that.. his words alone were no more sushi buffet this is so fresh and amazing ... amazing service and the fish was so tasteful. Will be back very soon

Ordered the Sushi Tempura Combo for takeout lunch, which came with salad and Miso soup. Large portion of tempura was served. Overall good quality sushi for reasonable prices.

Brought my daughter and a friend here in two separate occasions, and the food presentation, quality of sushi and the whole atmosphere are one of the best in town. It s definitely a nice cozy place to enjoy such good meal from appetizer to main dish of sashimi or variety of sushi. I ve ordered the lover s salmon and yes, it s bittersweet a Japan experience that you ll always treasure. Highly recommended this place 24/7 and savour every moment and don t leave without having the green tea and mango ice cream as well. Parking: Great location. Busy area across parkway mall.

Ordered the 50 pc sushi/sashimi boat and a Spicy Salmon Dragon roll. The fish was fresh and the price is ok for what you get. Service was very good and everyone is friendly. There are a lot of other restaurants on site, so the parking lot isnt the best. Parking: The lot if very small for all the business on site.

Great sushi! Everything tasted fresh and was presented nicely. I recommend the ichiban dinner C if you like a variety of sashimi and rolls, plus they use sauce to make a pretty sakura tree on your plate. I will say though it is Korean owned if thats what you want to know. Overall nice place and I would say is better than Niji, would come back.

I put a three for atmosphere, mainly because of the music. This is a Japanese restaurant, the music isn t and kinda ruins the Japanese atmosphere. This place is kinda traditional Japanese and reminds me of restaurants in Japan it would be great to have traditional music to go along with the decor. The food here is great, I really like this place and definitely enjoy coming here.

A hidden gem at Ellesmere! Great quality food at decent prices. Spicy tuna and salmon roll was my favorite. We tried their flavourful veg options Tofu teriyaki which came with miso soup, salad and rice, and asparagus rolls. We also ordered the Avocado rolls, I found them somewhat bland for my palate. But my vegetarian friends had their hearts full. Vegetarian options: Good variety of flavorful options!

This restaurant is a gem! The food is amazing and you definitely get your moneys worth for the size, freshness, and taste of the sushi. Ive tried many different places throughout the GTA but Ichiban remains my favourite; such a solid, consistently top quality restaurant with great service. The staff are genuinely so sweet and I cant believe this place isnt packed with more people.

Sushi was decent but everything was thinly sliced honestly felt that it was all you can eat quality. However the staff was really awesome at the location was busy but as a sushi lover I was disappointed.

Great authentic Sushi! This will be my familys new place to get quality fresh sushi. Everything was just the best. I must recommend the Green Dragon Roll to newcomers and long time sushi lovers. The miso soup that is given as an appetizer is very tasty. The people were very nice, and even gave us free juice (which was very tasty,) for moving our table for a bigger party. Overall a 5/5 experience. Vegetarian options: Small selection of vegetarian options. Parking: A bit of parking for the strip mall. Kid-friendliness: Young kids were enjoying their meal.

It was my brother s first time having sushi in his life and he absolutely loved it. A small family running their family business perfectly, they make you feel very comfortable, help you in every detail in the menu, plus they advise you to try some stuff without trying to upsell expensive stuff. Very kind and welcoming people. The sushi was authentic so fresh and tasty, way better than the sushi in my country (Lebanon). Highly recommending this place for anyone in Toronto or coming to Toronto for a visit.

Have been coming here for months. The owners are warm and hospitable. Whenever we have family in the area who wants to go for sushi, we bring them here. Cant say enough good things about the people here. I hope theyre around for as long as Im in the area and longer!

Its a cute and cozy place. Definitely one of the best places to have fresh and warm sushi. They have multiple veggie options. I was happy with everything. Will definitely be visiting often. I was struggling with my allergies.. had also been painting and all the dust from the sanding.. came in there asking for some Strong wasabi to go with my rolls.. it was lovely when I came back They said they put extra wasabi just for me.. very caring staff and people working there and making the sushi!!

If you eat sushi regularly, you should try it here once. If you don t eat sushi, you must Go here at least to experience the ambiance and to try the food.

Ive been meaning to write a review for a while now, and after my recent visit, I just couldnt put it off any longer. Discovered a hidden gem in our neighborhood - a cozy sushi place. Fresh food, beautiful presentation, and the amazing hot sake. The sake here is a perfect complement to the sushi rolls. Enjoying a slightly tipsy moment with friends, sharing laughter, and savoring the fresh food - its a feeling thats hard to beat. The staff is sweet, the atmosphere is relaxing - its more than a meal; its a place to connect with loved ones. As someone working in dietetics and nutrition, I appreciate the healthy options and cleanliness.

Nice service but sushi is average

We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. The quality of fish was excellent. We appreciate the attention to detail the restaurant adds to their dishes (fried garlic on sushi, please keep doing this it s very tasty!) Order for 2: - Sushi boat - comes with sashimi, sushi and rolls - Torched salmon was absolutely great way to end the meal Can t wait to back here again. Staff is attentive and always greeting you with a smile! You can tell this place is a locals favourite, there were many walk ins and pickups while we we were dining in.

The chefs there are beyond helpful and pleasant. I asked if i could modify the lunch special. And they did! Their service is fast and the food is super fresh. Parking: It s a small plaza. With around 3 parking spots in front of each store. If you cant find parking here, there is tons of parking across the store by parkway mall.

Great intimate sushi restaurant! The food is great, the staff are kind, and wonderful. We got a sushi boat and it was so nicely presented, and the perfect mix of sashimi, rolls and sushi! The parking can be tough sometimes because there are quite a few storefronts in the plaza.

Amazing customer service!! All the staff say hi and bye to you when you enter and leave. They messed up one of our sushi rolls and the chef came out himself to deliver the new one to us. He was soooo nice and apologetic. I ve come 3 times now and will be coming back again!

Clean and good tasting food

Just picked up sushi from here and it s by far the worst sushi I have ever had. The shrimp tempura rolls literally have nothing but a tiny bit of shrimp and tempura bits. All the rolls are tiny with the least amount of ingredients possible. Avoid this place. So many better sushi places around!

Absolutely love this little sushi gem. The place is very clean, the food is fresh and delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is great due to the professionalism and kindness shown within the staffs.

I have been dining at Sushi Ichiban Ellesmere for almost 10 years and have always liked the food there. Earlier in 2022 I was saddened to hear that the previous owner had decided to retire. But the new owner have kept up to the high standard in food quality and added a few improvements, such as nice background music. The service remains top notch too. I hope to remain a regular for many more years.

No complaints here Everything was made fresh to order and relatively quickly too. Excellent sushi here. The prices arent the lowest but the quality is top notch and represents good value. Ive been to Osaka, Japan-- while they operate at another level there, this comes close enough!!
