This is hands down the best sushi and omakase in the city! Even though it’s takeout only, it’s truly an experience from start to finish. The quality is impeccable—each piece is crafted with care, and the flavors are delicate yet unforgettable. It’s a hidden gem that sushi lovers absolutely need to know about. Perfect for treating yourself to an elevated meal at home or impressing guests with something special. Don’t miss this spot if you’re serious about sushi—it’s as close to perfection as it gets!

This is a take out place only. We got the Omakase & Premium Sushi Set and we agreed it was the freshest tasting fish we have ever had in Ontario. Every chew was delightful and left us wanting more. These two sets were enough to feed the two of us. You get what you pay for. The quality is unreal and I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This place is a gem. The service was so kind and accommodating, they are able to help my partner (who is celiac) pick items or customize them to be gluten-free. They were really quick with making our large order, and they have the cutest soy-sauce bottles! The sushi was amazing and tasted so pure. They also had some fun options I’m not used to seeing like the origini - also delicious :)

Might be the best sushi takeaway shop in Toronto! Brings back memories of Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. We ordered the Premium Sushi Set and the Premium don. The seafood was super fresh and you can even see all the tuna’s hanging in their fridge. Prices were very fair for the quality. Ordering directly from the shop is slightly cheaper than ordering through UberEats. We will be back!

Great little hidden spot - you get what you pay for! High quality sashimi, the best I have had in the city, fresh, quality, cute packaging. Only reason for 4 star in service - is only had take away & $$. Will be going back for my cravings. 👌

Great spot off of college for some very good high quality Sushi. Ordered online (same day) and picked up, extremely smooth and friendly service. They clearly focus on the high quality of fish and offer some higher end fatty tuna options which are incredible. This place is more elevated than your average sushi (or all you can eat place) but is definitely worth it for a premium sushi experience. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic sushi spot! We’ve been eyeing this place for a while and we are so glad we went! The quality of all the fish was great, and everything was just really well made. The maki rolls were not particularly inventive (I mean this in the nicest way possible), but they were tasty nonetheless. The two of us got a lot because we were really hungry that day, but I think this amount could definitely feed more people. They mainly do take-out, which is something to keep in mind, but we are coming back here FOR SURE!!!

I really wanted to like this place because I have been on the hunt for high quality sushi at a reasonable price. I ve even given it three chances because its in the area, I love the packaging, and the place looks really cute. However, every time I felt underwhelmed by the fish quality and rice. For the price, I would rather go to Kingyo, Shunoko or Ja Bistro. Note: I can t speak to the atmosphere or service because I have only ordered delivery (perhaps this is why my experience is so different to the other reviews here?)

Oroshi Fish Co.is strictly takeout. My order was ready at the appointed time. The facility was clean and tasteful. Unfortunately, the Chirashi Don was very disappointing! The fish was cut very thin and there was not much of it. The sushi rice was lacking in flavour - basically glutenous plain rice. The only positive was the drizzle of salmon roe. Chirashi is my go to dish when I have Japanese food and this was the least satisfying Chirashi that I have ever had!

I hate leaving this review because its clear they put a lot of care into what they are producing, but unfortunately as the saying goes - garbage in, garbage out. Perhaps they just had a bad day. We got the 60 piece tray - outside of the bluefin tuna and the scallops, every other piece of fish we tried was incredibly stringy and chewy. The two kinds of maki were just fine despite the sushi rice being quite underseasoned (a theme that is omnipresent across Toronto, for some reason). About a third of the way into the tray we couldnt take it any more. The freshness was on point, but the fish quality was abysmal. I get that maybe for some types of fish its a bit hard to source something good, but to get even salmon this bad you have to seriously go out of your way. Save yourself the disappointment and spend the same amount money at MIku for something an order of magnitude better.

It is very good quality sushi for the Toronto landscape. Stick to the fish that is regularly available in Canada and remember that you are ordering Sushi very far from the ocean. The price is influenced by the availability of fish in Toronto period. Fatty tuna was delicious, rice ball was delicious, hand roll was delicious.

Come here for premium takeout sushi in Toronto! And remember to order off their website in advance so you don t have to wait at the shop. I ve been here a couple of times and have tried the premium sushi set, omakase, and the 40 party tray. We usually come here for the omakase. If you re feeling a bit of a splurge, the omakase is definitely the way to go - good variety and premium quality. The premium set and party trays have less of a variety, but the quality is still great. It s not cheap but for the quality of the fish, the prices are definitely fair and good value. Can t wait to go again soon!

Oroshi Fish Co. is Torontos newest destination for takeout sushi located in the West end near College/Dovercourt. Located down Bill Cameron Lane (a laneway), the eatery specializes in deliciously prepared sushi, sashimi, and donburi (rice bowls). I came across Oroshi on Instagram and knew I had to try their delicious sushi sets. Orders can be made on their website or through delivery apps. I decided to preorder my items ahead of time. Staff called me around my pick up time to notify me they were running behind which I appreciated. The store is easy to find (just look for their blue door!) and staff were friendly when I went to pick up my order. The store also displays their fresh fish and sells a variety of different housemade condiments (I picked up the XO sauce and the furikake seasoning). Food wise, I ordered the regular sushi set (2pc salmon, 2pc seabass, 8pc California roll) as well as the premium sushi set (9pc nigiri set + temaki. Salmon, seabass, yellowtail, lean bluefin tuna med. fatty bluefin tuna, tiger prawn + handroll). No substitutions are allowed and selection of fish may change based on whats in season. Taste wise, the sushi sets were fresh and delicious! My partner and I shared the sets and enjoyed them immensely. Definitely a great new sushi takeout joint in the west end. Recommend if you are around the area!

This is a take out only, sushi market. Within 2 weeks of their opening we have visited twice! We like the premium sushi set and sashimi platter. There are lots of options to add sushi pieces as well. Quality is excellent, portion size good, price is also fair. Only comment is that the California rolls tend to stick to the container slightly. However, that is due to the material of the container. Most of the packaging is recyclable, which is very important to me personally. No black plastics! Oroshi is available on Uber, but we chose to pick up. Ordering directly on the website is more convenient and cheaper than Uber. You can select the time for pick up and receive an email/text confirmation immediately. (The order receipt is proper and good for expensing!) This will be my go-to sushi place from now on.

Amazing sushi! The little hole in the wall is accessible through a lane way with their blue sign barely visible from College St so drive slowly so you dont miss it! To access the pick up location you need to climb two steep steps- so it is definitely not wheelchair accessible. Once you enter the interior you are greeted by large, glass pane refrigerators holding huge fish. Behind the pick up counter numerous sushi chefs are hard at work preparing multiple orders. There is no seating and expect to plan your order at least one day in advance of you want to have your choice of pick up times. The fish is very high quality, expertly cut and the rice is good. Whats most amazing is the prices! Good sushi is becoming more and more expensive in Toronto and this price point is affordable for more than once a year experience. Love this new place! Its a fast favourite and I will be returning to get the omakase again!

Was very eager to check this place out based on the reviews on Google and seeing numerous reviews. Pre-ordered the omakase and chirasi for pickup right before closing. Might have been an off night - the order was ~30 min late, we were told, due to technical issues with the rice. The wait was ok, but the rice fell apart on every single piece of nigiri in our omakase set. Fish was tasty and fresh, with exception of the fatty tuna that was strangely tough and in some parts inedible.

Saw them in the news and decided to check out what aged sushi would taste like. The price for their Omakase set also struck me as relatively a good value. Call me a traditionalist, but I m not a big fan of aged sushi from this experience. Subtle elements of what a smoke salmon is what I tasted in certain fish. The mackerel was absolutely horrible As it was so fishy, I couldn t swallow it. I understand Mackerel generally is a more fishy type of fish. I ve had them in the past, and I was able to eat it despite the fishy-ness smell and taste - but this fish smell you get from the aged Mackerel was beyond what I would call a good fishy smell and taste. The Ikura sushi, maybe because it was aged, there was a runny orange sauce that I didn t like and it soaked into my Tamago and made it taste like smoke salmon since they were packaged together. Also in the photo on their website, it shows premium Omakase came with the Ikura, but they substituted it with the tobiko and something with mayo on it? I didn t like that and it wasn t very tasty. I hope it wasn t because we ordered an extra order of Ikura on the side. One main thing and I think it s pretty major was their rice. It fell apart so easily upon pick up and also most of it was stuck to their packaging. Rice taste was flat, there was not much depth to it. Sushi rice is pretty important to me when it comes to good sushi, and this definitely made the eating experience less enjoyable altogether.

I advise to prospective clients to read all the reviews especially negative ones before ordering at this place. After reading the advertisement I decided to order sushi from this company. I ordered two orders of Omakase that is $49.50 each set. The quality of the fish was good. However, they substitute two items of sushi with two cheaper items from premium set sushi that is much cheaper $30.00. We did not have chopped scallops and sea bass that is listed on Omakase set. They say on their website sorry no substitution, meaning clients cannot ask for substitutions, but they can substitute with cheaper items without letting the clients know neither at the time of the online order or at the time of the pick up. Another thing that I didnt like they charged you tips and they are automatically included in the order. Unless you pay attention at the time of check out you will be billed 15% for picking up your own order that even is not exactly as advertised and I ordered. They will not inform you about the substitutions. So practically I was deceived twice at this place. Sorry guys its not a good way to run a business and treat your clients.

Please take your sushi and run before you notice just how passionate and happy the sushi chefs are - conversing & grooving to their happy beats! Once you zero in on them, youll wish you could spend a whole afternoon with them just feeding you. I tried my best to ignore them so I wouldnt feel like I was missing out. Sadly, its take out only right now. But still super delicious! Feels like a love project between chefs Jeff & Ed (from Omai). If youve been to Omai before, you can count on the same excellent temaki (handrolls). Their omakase set is really good and Id be surprised if you found much better at their price point. Cant wait to try more!

It s very good, though for the price point and the hype I was expecting something superlative. The fish is of course fresh, some pieces of nigiri more flavourful than others: I recommend the mackerel and the tiger prawn; I was underwhelmed by the salmon. I was expecting the seabass to be different from the striped bass, but they appeared to be the same - disappointing, since we were attempting to try as much variety as possible; clearer labeling on the menu would help. There s no denying Oroshi is a step above your average sushi joint; it a great to order sushi from a place where you know the fish is the real deal, and where every order is accorded the same high level of attention to detail. I also like that they don t use black plastics in their packaging and that you can order in advance.

Not sure there is anywhere else in this country that offers takeout sushi of such quality. The fish is aged and the ingredients are well selected. A must have for those who enjoy sushi

Great premium quality sushi for Toronto! Its definitely a hole in the wall type of establishment, so youll have to keep an eye out. Their fish is extremely fresh and they generally have a strong supply of sea urchin (uni) and scallops. The tuna hand roll was also an excellent addition to the omakase set, and I did appreciate how the seaweed was not soggy or moist.

Full disclosure: If someone hypes anything up to me, my expectations go unreasonably high, and 9 times out of 10 I end up disappointed. Given the sky-high hype for Oroshi, its a testament to how good it is that, while I dont think its the perfect sushi takeout and fish market in the city, its still really good. Dropped by and got one omakase set and one premium sushi set. I get all the praise for the omakase - the fish is melt-in-your-mouth good, the variety rivals the sit-down omakases out there. At $50, its a bit pricey though, and Im not sure if its more limited selection makes me prefer just paying the $150 at a sit-down spot. As for the premium sushi set, the quality was easily better than your average sushi spot, but the price was also higher at $30. Not quite sure if it was worth it given it still was the typical sushi types. Having had both sets, Id definitely recommend the $50 omakase over the $30 premium sushi - just more unique and better value. Overall, I get the Oroshi hype. While it didnt quite get to 5-star level for me, its definitely still worth a try.

One of my favorite places to get take out sushi ever. Their sister restaurant omai is also great if you want to dine in, but since this location is closer to me I prefer to go here. Want high quality sushi for a decent price? Grab their sushi and sashimi sets. Go take it to a park sit and enjoy! If you go there when its early you might get a chance to get their onigiris which are great as well.

We order one premium omakase set to try it out. The flavor is good. But the sushi rice is very disappointing. it doesnt seem fresh at all. the texture is very hard and dry. almost half of the sushi rice splits into 2 pieces. Not worth the price.

Ive gotten sushi from Oroshi twice now and both times theyve knocked it out of the park. First time I tried the omakase set for 2 which was so good. It was a great way to try some of the fancier sushi options at an affordable price point without feeling like you sacrificed quality. The tunas all melted in my mouth and the hand roll are top notch. Second time I got the premium set to eat in the park with friends and Ive been thinking about the scallops and salmon ever since.

Tried omakase at a Michelin spot in ginza/Tokyo so I expected that I would be paying more for the food and experience. Went to oroshi and saw that there omakase was 50 before tax. I figured it was quite a deal compared to what other restaurants in the Toronto area that did offer omakase were charging. Also found it weird, the iPad was asking for tips in bright lettering. I obliged and tipped on takeout at a restaurant that Id never been to before. Wasnt impressed. Maybe for 25 bucks but definitely not worth 50 + tax and + tip. Friend that works as a chef that came with me gave it. 3.5/5 stars We both thought it was cool that you were provided with the ingredients to make your own roll and a cute bottle of soy sauce.

What a treat! This spot has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally tried it out. Its now on my top 3 list for sushi in Toronto. My meal was ready for pick up, and the staff were so welcoming, with genuine smiles. The sushi was very fresh and tasty, wasabi hot and textured, and roll yourself handroll with nice crunch. A true hidden gem. Be sure to get chopsticks if youre not taking it home.

Really enjoy the dishes from Oroshi. Friendly staff; organized, clean kitchen. I love that they use disposable containers. It tells you a lot about the establishment. I have been spreading the words around. Keep up the great work!
