72 Kensington Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2K2, Canada
Trendy taqueria fixing up Baja-style tacos & seafood in a Kensington Market storefront.
The shrimp taco was delicious! All the seats are standing which was unexpected since I didn't read the reviews but I was only there for a quick snack.
Loved dining at Seve Lives Tacos. The atmosphere is very cheerful and inviting. We were greeted immediately by the edgy lady at the counter. We got the mushroom and cactus 🌵 tacos since we had never had one before. It was served within 5-10 minutes. Warm taco with a condiments bar and sauces to choose from. That's the first I have seen. The lady suggested some of the popular hot 🔥 and flavourful toppings. The taco was bursting with flavors. The soft shell taco was so loaded that it was falling apart. Enjoyed every bit of it. Would love to visit again. Would recommend 10/10.
Seven Lives Tacos is the perfect spot for a casual and fun hangout with friends, especially if you’re in the mood to try something new. I had tacos for the first time here, and they were pretty great! Each taco was packed with bold, fresh flavors, and the variety on the menu ensured there was something for everyone. The fillings were delicious and well-seasoned, and the tortillas were fresh, bringing the whole experience together. For someone new to tacos, this place definitely set a high standard! What makes Seven Lives Tacos even better is its cool and laid-back atmosphere. It’s a great spot for friends to hang out and enjoy good food without worrying about being formal or fancy. The vibe is unpretentious, with a lively energy that adds to the fun. However, one thing to note is the lack of chairs or proper seating—it’s more of a stand-and-eat type of spot. While this might not suit everyone, it works if you’re there for a quick bite and don’t mind standing around with your friends. Overall, Seven Lives Tacos offers a flavorful introduction to tacos, a relaxed atmosphere, and a unique experience for groups of friends who prioritize good vibes over seating.
Absolutely love this spot for Tacos! Their salsa is quite hot so be careful with the serving! 🤣 I LOVE their shrimp taco - comes packed with flavours and tastes delicious. The baja fish taco is also a pretty good one with a good amount of basa fish in it. Overall love this place and would highly recommend it.
Hectic atmosphere, but delicious tacos. Not much in the way of service here as the style is more order at the counter, hangout and wait for your number to be called. If you like a more lively environment this is definitely more for you. Restaurant has standing tables with barriers. We ordered the Garbonador taco and the Carnitas taco to try, and both were awesome. The Garbonador in particular had a ton of meat and shrimp. I also appreciate they double layer the tortilla to make sure it doesn't break when it gets soggy. Prices are a little high compared to other taco spots but it is delicious. Definitely must try!
Nice place for a quick bite to eat. I’ve tried most of the tacos and you can’t go wrong with any of them. The baja fish taco is huge and you can definitely get full off one. I’d recommend the shrimp and octopus ones. I wish the horchata had more of a cinnamon flavour since it felt watered down. Sometimes there isn’t that many seats available, but not the hugest deal.
Kensington is full of hot spots for foodies and this is probably one of the most iconic. The restaurant does not disappoint when it comes to taste and experience. Food: Get any taco and you will enjoy the burst of creative flavour. I love the balance they try to create in each one so you’re not overwhelmed in any way. Surprisingly the cactus taco ended up being my favourite. Atmosphere: It goes without saying but foot traffic, seating and parking are gonna be the obstacles for would be guests. Most of the tables are standing tables and they are limited. The space is tight and not group friendly so keep that in mind. Service is fast and they know what they’re doing. Be patient and you’ll get your food in a timely manner.
Nestled in the heart of Kensington Market this is a must visit if you are looking to try a decent taco. There are definitely better ones in the city but this isn’t too shabby for $7. I went with the Chicken Taco and it was pretty decent. But I reckon, the chicken could have been generously seasoned. If you are looking for a sit down place with tables and chairs then this might not be the best place. Having said that, there are plenty tables to wait/stand at and finish your taco ;) Customer service is average so overall I would rate my experience 8/10!
My carnitas tacos had no meat. It was just fat. Also, the portions have gone down significantly. Sad to see the quality has fallen in general.
If youre looking for some of the best tacos in Toronto, I highly recommend Seven Lives! My personal favorites are the Gobernador and the Baja Fish - theyre just so good! One thing to keep in mind is that it can get quite busy at Seven Lives, so I suggest knowing what you want before getting in line. Other than that, have fun and enjoy your delicious meal!
Took my friends who were contestants on The Great Canadian Baking Show there on a food crawl. They were visiting from Vancouver and from Quebec and said that eating there was their BEST bite of the day during our tour of Kensington Market. Generously filled and expertly flavored. Gorbonator, Chorizo and Carnitas was
Went here today and took my dad who is visiting. The food was beyond awful and will never come back here. The chicken and shrimp tacos were awful and they charged us for 17$ which wasn t reasonable for this quality. It s just a hype from social media and it wasn t a delightful experience at all.
Fantastic food, good spice level on their hottest sauce, the meat was smoky and flavourful!
Personally felt like this spot doesnt quite live up to the hype, although the ambience and setup were fantastic - very much casual dining. I found the tacos a bit underfilled on protein, but the flavours were bang on for whatever we did receive. There was a strong taste of the corn tortilla coming through in the tacos, which some might love a lot, but it just didnt work for me with the combination of toppings. Baja fish taco > pollo asada taco
These guys pump out the best SEAFOOD tacos in Toronto in my humble opinion. Well worth the price of each taco and they re very filling as well. Interesting flavour combinations! The horchata is addicting and their salsas/ hot sauces are immaculate. A must visit when in downtown.
Visited with my family to this unique hidden gem of Toronto: Seven Lives located at Kensington Market. We ordered Tacos Dorados, Gobernador (i.e. Smoked Tuna Taco), Baja Fish (i.e. Fish Taco), Carnitas (i.e. Pork shoulder) and on sides Jarritos & chips. It was delicious and extremely heavy despite it looks small in size. Awesome ambiance and the atmosphere was unique with live music playing in the background. There are tables where you can only STAND & eat, no sitting area and they accept only CASH. We would visit again soon, worth visiting it.
The tacos here are one of the best. The taste is amazing however the prices are hefty. You can get bottled coke here straight from Mexico. Unfortunately, there are no halal options here. Dietary restrictions: No halal options.
good! quick! cheap! Even if its crowded, most people will be waiting, so dont be afraid to jump in
Delicious food and good portions. Bring cash
The food is amazing! The staff is super friendly. Thanks to Karina who helps me to decide which taco to eat. Love it!
Not bad, but $9 (cash only) for a taco when there are others for $6-$7 is an odd choice. Yes the others are smaller but its not that noticeable. In terms of sauce and flavour, this is a top choice. Good but not great.
Vegetarian options: 2 - 3 veggie options Food
Lately The quality has been inconsistent. This particular visit was very good few years ago they changed the taco shells which is a shame because we would come from the suburbs specifically for tacos. Now its no longer worth the drive, but its definitely worth coming for lunch. We will return.
Delicious. There are many taco restaurants nearby, but this one is the best in terms of taste. There are three types of salsa, but be careful of the spicy hot salsa..! The Cartinas meat is soft, there is no smell, and the portion is quite large. Women will feel full if they eat two to three. And it is unique. Its made with two taco shells attached, but its a bit pricey at $8-9.50 per piece, so it would be good to eat as a snack rather than a meal when youre hungry. Oh, and theres only a standing table!
Don t go to this place if you don t have cash with you.
Absolutely delicious tacos which were just slightly overstuffed. My only qualm was the lack of seats provided at the place, but since that suits the vibe of the place its not really a drawback, just something to consider. I really enjoyed my time here and cannot wait to come back. Tacos are about 8-11 dollars each and you need to get multiple since one wont be enough. I got two and was happy, but some of my friends got 3.
Tacos were delicious! Highly recommend the Gobernador.
as my first taco experience here both the fish n chicken tacos were great
Good Stuff! Shrimp Tacos are my favourite for sure, don t miss the hot salsa corner!!
Foods good but not amazing. Service is poor, asked for a container for my salsa and chips which I paid 8$ for and was told no. Food
Be alot cooler if you opened earlier
I really like the gobernador tacos, the shrimp and smoked tuna with the cheese is so flavourful! Also the salsa adds so much flavour to these absolutely packed tacos! I have also tried the camarones de la diabla and baja fish tacos, both are also pretty good but i die to spicy foods and the baja fish tacos were a bit bland but good options too!
Decent but expensive
Food: 5 stars. Best fish taco in town. Wish they hadnt raised their prices at the same time as making it cash only, with an ATM machine that charges 3$.
Definitely the best tacos Ive had in Toronto!!! They only take cash though, and the wait was long for my order. But its delicious
I ve been coming here for years now, the tacos are consistently really good. The spicy shrimp taco is a standout. I did notice they ve bumped up their prices by about 15-20% since I was last in, and also now have removed card payment options - opting for a fee-paying ATM inside. Interesting choice. Food is still worth popping in for. Just bring cash and don t be too hungry or be prepared to spend - $9+ per taco is hefty. Especially with Gus and El Trompo in spitting distance.
The food is amazing and I believe it s still on the same level but God I hate their new cash only policy and no option to use the card. They are increasing the price every time I step my foot in there, at this point it s 9$ per taco instead of 7 just a couple months ago. On top of that the girl behind the counter looks like she s hating every minute of being there and gives attitude for no reason whatsoever. No problem, lots of other taco places a few steps away.
Honestly love their tacos, but in the past few months have seen the price go up from $6 to $9 for no reason whatsoever. Also, no option to pay with card because the money goes to the bank and cash goes to the owner? Come on, it s 2024. Noticed the place loose a lot of customers over the new policy as well. Hoping they stay afloat, but this is beyond ridiculous. 101 Tacos right across the street picked up their game tho!
Another great taco spot at Kensington Market! I had 2 tacos - Mushroom & Cactus as well as Pollo Asado. They were both great but I really loved the mushroom & cactus! I washed it all down with a Fruit Punch jarritos. Yum!
Been coming here for over 5 years. But now its overpriced and on top of that, The quantity is now less
Good tacos and drinks but only takes cash.
The prices went up and the quality went down, unfortunately. Hopefully it was a one off, this place was one of the best in the city.
Update: I should change the 5star to 1 star because they no more accept card payment! Also unacceptable long waiting time!! Food
Food experience is excellent the tacos we ordered really taste good one of the best so far. Service is ok, They have counter tables where you can eat standing but not clean, some customers would t wipe the table and I didn t see anyone from the crew clean the table. Eating taco can be messy, they have paper towels on the table but didn t see any cleaning liquid to clean the table aftef eating which makes the use table sticky.
Fire
Get the gobernador and Baja tacos. Add salsa. Wash down with your choice of beverage. Savor the smoky sweetness of the tuna combined with the fattiness of the cheese and the fresh shrimp. Repeat and thank me later.
Amazing tacos everytime! Their salsa is a must-have on the tacos Food
it s $9 for one taco lol why this place is well rated is beyond me
Buy the Baja fish taco for yourself or a friend, GF, BF, mom or dad, best friend, secert lover, and everyone you know who eats fish tacos. I added all the salsa flavours then went back to fill the gaps as I ate. The spice one has spicy flavour ** Parking: One way streets and slow driving. I recommend public tranist. A bus stops for walking along Spadina Ave.
Good tacos but the change to taking only cash to support the business? This saves the business ~3% on interchange (mb other fees) while puts the onus on the consumers to bring cash or spend $3+ on transaction fees to withdraw cash? Very frustrating and strange. Will not dine here / bring anyone again until this is reversed.
Best tacos in Toronto. Ample serving size but pieces are steep for the location and lack of seating
Warning: cash only so come prepared Got 4 tacos and a Topo Chico. Carnitas: excellent taco, no fault Baja fish: great fried fish but needs a lot more flavor Tuna: excellent flavor on the tuna but avoid it if you dont like the texture of canned tuna because this has the texture of canned tuna Chorizo y papa: good flavor but lacks texture Getting the tacos takes a bit of time after you order but its always fresh. It can get very crowded. No seating but there are standing tables which you might need to share with others.
Very characteristic place where you can eat excellent cuisine.
I used to rave about Seven Lives, unfortunately I think theyre going through a bit of a cost cutting exercise and have changed some things to their own detriment and their customers disappointment . They no longer accept debit/credit (lets face it, who carries cash anymore), and theyve gotten rid of a couple of their best tacos: the Pulpo a la Mexicana (their octopus was so tender and the taco had amazing flavour), and I think their beef is gone as well.. I remember it being quite good. They also had no water. Bottled or anything. Things that made this place famous were their quality tacos (things like the Pulpo and Gobernador), as well as the little things like the self serve salsa in the mortars, and the refreshing water from the jug with the fruit in it. I get that times are tougher these days, but they are for everyone including your customers... when youve done well enough to have line-ups to the door for food, dont take away what made your customers love you in the first place, you can afford to keep the extras, and for things like the pulpo taco... just charge $1 more... those who love it would be happy to pay a bit more because its a premium seafood item... Changing the experience, removing things and making it less convenient are often not wins for anybody
Heard about this place from a friend so we thought to try it out! They did NOT disappoint!!! I should mention that they are cash only but theres an atm and also the option to order on Uber for pickup. We tried the the fish, shrimp, mushroom and cactus, and chicken tacos. They were all delicious, each packed with so much flavour. Would definitely come back when Im back in Toronto!! Plus there are a bunch of stores nearby to walk around, so the area is great too.
Not bad. Messy yummy tacos. No chairs but you can stand at a counter to eat. Approximately 8 bucks per taco.
Nice little ambience with finger licking messy tacos My fav are the tuna, Baja, Shrimp, octopus & their yummy salsa options. Must visit this spot in the city!
I ordered a popular menu item, but I dont know whats special about it, and the environment makes it difficult to eat comfortably. Zero intention to revisit
Tacos are soooo good. A bit pricey unfortunately.
I ve been coming to this place for almost a decade. Disappointed that they are now cash only, very very inconvenient. Prices have also gone up to $9 per taco. Double disappointment.
As a taco lover, I would give this place five stars. a girl at the counter was kind, and the overall vibe was so hippy. its one of the best tacos Ive ever had. two thumbs up. Its delicious, and I especially recommend the shrimp. You have to stand to eat, but its not a place to sit and chat, so I think theres a lot of rotation. There are always a lot of people. Highly recommended!
Great flavours and decent portion sizes. 2-3 tacos per person is perfect! We loved both the gobernador and the baja fish tacos!
Well worth the visit!
This place is one of my favorite taco spots. My favorites are the Gobernador and Baja Fish tacos. This time, I also tried a new menu item which was tacos dorados, but it wasn t my favourite the filling was a bit tasteless but the toppings on top were okay. Nonetheless, this place remains my go to for tacos.
Awesome tacos! It was very quiet when we went but it might be because it was between lunch and dinner. We had the Baja fish taco and the shrimp one. Both were so tasty and fresh. Reasonably priced too. There are no seats here, only tall tables to perch on and eat.
Simple but very well executed. It s a stand and eat situation. Super tasty tacos I had baja fish and pollo asada super flavorful! they even have a second shell on the taco to place below so you can catch all the stuff you drop into it when eating the taco. It s the details! Highly recommend. The person who served us from the kitchen was friendly, the person at the front was more stand offish.
Omg best taco of my life!!! The baja one was absolutely insane!!!!!!!
Delicious tacos - great environment - speedy service
Not as good as it used to be... We used to love their fish tacos, but theyve definitely gone down in quality and have become more generic. As with everything, the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. Dont believe the hype, there are much better taco places out there.
One of the best taco restaurant in Toronto! There s no seating table you should eat in bar style standing table. But it gives you more atmosphere! I recemmond the chicken one. You can add your salsa right next to pick up location. Also there re a lot of vegiterian options so don t worry!
Very expensive and over rated
Loved everything, except the chicken taco Very fresh
Health eats - tacos support local #tacos #mexican
Best fish taco Ive ever had, hands down.
1. The teast is a little different as before; 2. Price increased; 3. Missing the combo before - the following was posted before 1. The best taco in North America; 2. Nice employees; 3. Always busy; 4. But closed too early.
Food
Their house-made drinks are crazy good, tacos too.
The food looks and tastes excellent. The service was understandably rushed, and maybe a little too curt for my taste. The eating area was small and bit messy. The food more than made up for anything that was lacking. You should definitely add this to your list.
The food is amazing. So worth the detour when in Toronto. Thanks!
the BESTTTT seafood tacos in TO!!! 10000/10 recommend dining in for the best experience Food
Solid tacos but unfortunately it s lost what made it special in the OG spot and feels much more generic in taste now
I kept on seeing great reviews on tiktok and I was happy to finally try this taco place a few weeks ago! There was a long line up when we came but we only waited less than 15 minutes to have our 6 tacos. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen area, so I d say this really helped in the efficiency of serving a lot of customers on the weekend. Best to try every flavor they have since they are generous with the servings. My favorite is the octopus and fish tacos. The only con I d say is that the hot sauce area DOES NOT LOOK HYGIENIC because it did not have a lid on and a FLY can just easily land there. BRING YOUR OWN HOT SAUCE IF YOU CAN! The washroom located at the end of the restaurant is well maintained. I d go back again after my holiday trip to gain some carbs and healthy fat.
Seven Lives continues to offer the best tacos in Toronto. Theyre huge and delicious, plus their salsas are excellent. Even if youre not a seafood person youll likely enjoy their staple Baja fish tacos if you give it a try. Just be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes if its a nice day, this place is always busy.
Shrimp taco best taco . Favourite location for tacos right now in Toronto
Found this small local spot when looking for local tacos! Walking in, the place was busy. Its standing room only with tables, but honestly, it worked for the type of volume they do here. I went with a spicy shrimp taco and carnitas. First, I want to point out excellent portions. You will not leave here hungry, thats for sure. The shrimp taco was tasty and had a kick, but sour cream to cool it down. Loved it! The carnitas were simple with cilantro and onion. Nice flavor on the meat. Would definitely come back here when Im back in Toronto!
Definitely one of the best tacos I have ever had!
Good tacos. A bit expensive, but the portion is generous.
Food
Great tacos. Good service. Can be congested at peak times.
Amazing tacos, especially the meatty ones!
The food was delicious but small in portions. Tables were almost all dirty, and the people at the counter to take orders were anything but genuine. Its a get your food and go kind of place.
Shrimp taco was bomb
Decent and a good store in the neighborhood. Not super amazing by international standards in my opinion
Delicious everything excellent
My gf got food poisoning from you guys and has been sick still, avoid this place.
Chicken taste was not really good , sea food much better, the taco bread / nachos not really good too . From my point of view you could have much better tacos with higher quality & services with almost same price or little bit higher in different location. But as a kind of street food is acceptable for one time try.
The place does not look inviting, but the food is amazing.
Ive had my fair share of disappointing tacos in this city. Everywhere is usually either bland or ridiculously small and overpriced. This was the first place in the city where the filling where actually falling out and it was very tasty and packed with flavor. All the tacos we got were excellent but the baja fish and carnitas were another level. I cant recommend this place enough. Initially I was surprised by the pricing and ordered my usually 3 tacos but was very full afterwards.
pretty good. took a while. $8 for one taco
Super delicious tacos with fresh ingredients, definitely worth to come back again.
Delicious Fish Tacos! A must try if you re in the city and looking for good Baja fish tacos.
Had 2 tacos - baha fish and grilled octopus, taco is around $8 each. Highlight: Baha fish Taco Bring your own wipes if you can!
Just go. No regrets
Fantastic tacos like i mean haute cuisine fabuloso outvof this world good. The best ive ever tried!
I have been thinking of these tacos for 5 years and was very excited to have them again. I do think they were better the first time I had them, but still very very good. Best fish tacos I ve ever had. I had the octopus, shrimp, and Baja fish(?) tacos. They have a VERY generous portion of the protein it self and are nice and full, while having lots of sauce and flavor that take them to the next level. The restaurant itself is no frills and you will definitely need the paper towels they put out. I highly recommend making a stop here, worth going a little out of your way for even.
We went to this popular taco place on Saturday afternoon time. It was quite packed. We ordered: 1. Gobernador (Tuna and Shrimp): 5/5 => One of the best taco I ve ever had. 2. Baja Fish (Fried basa and cabbage): 3/5 => Average 3. Camarones A La Diabla (Grilled shrimp with creamy chipotle sauce): 1/5 => Won t recommend it to anyone. 4. Watermelon Mint drink: 2/5 => Too much extra sugar added There s no seating place. You have to stand at a table and eat the tacos. There are complimentary salsas available. The prices are reasonable and quantity is very good. One person can get full with 3 tacos. I ll recommend Gobernador to everyone. Vegetarian options: Mushroom-Cactus Taco and Tacos Dorados
Great food. Great service
Always food is good
Dropped in with friends for an afternoon snack and boy did it hit the spot! We ordered fish, shrimp, octopus and carnitas! All four were very flavourful. With some Jarritos lime and guava to wash it all down, this was the perfect snack! Always a pleasure to drop in to Seven Lives for some delicious taco when in Kensington Market! Enjoying your tacos while standing up at one of the communal tables and with the soundtrack in the background adds to the great vibe and experience.
Pretty good tacos! Octopus and fish and mushrooms were all good
Im naturally a tacos girl, and this place has been satisfying my appetite since 2017, when they were just a little shop beside rasta pasts. The fish taco is my favorite
Seven Lives is easily one of the best taco places Ive ever been to. Im a big fan of fish and al pastor tacos and Seven Lives did not disappoint. The food came out quick and we ate while standing at one of the booths. There was complementary salsa near the register as well as wet wipes (a plus in my book). The fish taco was cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with their tomato topping, this taco had the power to change my life. I followed up with an order of Al Pastor, which provided a more bold flavor profile to contrast with the airy fish taco. With the vibrant atmosphere and delicious tacos, you will be leaving wishing you had stayed and ordered another one. I highly recommend.
The tacos are good The site a little dirty I give them 5 stars is because the food is delicious!!!!!!
I was recommended this place from a friend to try out their shrimp and fish tacos and I have to say its amazing I keep coming back. The staff are really amazing. The place is very clean along with their bathrooms. Parking: Theres a paid parking garage nearby.
Tacos are so gooood
Love the fish baja
I m Mexican and I brought my Mexican mother to try these tacos and we both agree these are the closest to what authentic tacos taste like back home. I recommend baja fish, carnitas and suadero
Love the Baja fish and smoked tuna taco! The meat is so juicy and fresh although the taco is a bit too thick since there are two layers.
A little pricey but good was good
Delicious tacos even without the seats
Goat tacos goat staff enough said
One of the best tacos outlet in country
The taco is really delicious, especially the mushroom taco
I would rate this place 1000/10 for their spicy shrimp or the octopus tacos
This place rules. Tacos slap, the gobernador is my recommendation. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for dairy free and gluten free Food : 5/5 |
These MFs make good tacos
Spectacular! Go here and eat tacos! Now! Food : 5/5
One of my favourite taco places in Toronto. The fish tacos here are my absolutely favourite and are very big!
For the prices and size of portions they give you, its very reasonable. The only thing I would say is that the octopus taco was a little on the salty side.
Delicious, got to go early if you want one of the popular options. All the tacos are good. They do over stuff the tacos but you can always use a fork. Cheek is a delicious, sometimes a tad salty. All the meats are nice and tender. A little pricey overall. Wish you could buy chips with salsa.
There are a number of tacos in the menu to choose from and they are very tasty. All standing with elevated tables for a quick snack.
The tacos are absolutely incredible!
Didn t realize it was a seafood specialized taco place until I got there! Regardless, it was very good. No picture but ceviche was very tasty too. Can t wait to try octopus next time.
There is a reason this place is busy, it s really good. I had a chicken taco, grilled chunks with skin on, so smart. Delicious and huge.
Bland tacos, Was like I was eating a flatbread Tried fish tacos and octopus tacos $9 for a taco that s this bland! Duped by reviews.
Seven Lives is the go-to for quick, delicious tacos. You ve got to try the cactus and mushroom taco it s got this awesome earthy vibe going on. The shrimp taco is just as great, with juicy shrimp and a perfect spice blend. It s a fast-paced, stand-up kind of place, so be ready to eat on the move. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite that s seriously tasty!
This placed USED to be so good. But shrimp tacos were awful. Way too much sauce and cheese. Taco was super soggy.
Awful service. So rude. Tried to charge me $4 for salsa to go when it s given free unlimited in restaurant. I get the cost of container but $4 should buy you a whole bag of containers
This place is sneaky good. Quick and dirty tacos and dont miss out on the agua frescas.
Taco was not bad but damn the price for one taco! Wish they turned the music down a bit
As good as it gets for Mexican food in Canada!
Best tacos in Kensington!!
This place used to have the best steak tacos, then they switched to to some dog shyt quality beef, now theres no beef at all. Stay woke, stay broke.
Wonderful genuine Mexican place with very good food at a very affordable price!
Loved our visit here! Such a great place to grab a bite. Highly recommend! They had a delicious cactus and mushroom taco, unlike anything I ve had before! So delicious!
You can t go wrong with their fish taco if you re at all thinking which one to get. Delicious and fresh! Vegetarian options: They have a mushroom and cactus taco as a vegetarian option. I didn t try it but the option exists.
Been coming here for years.. never been disappointed!
Great tacos, decently fast service, good atmosphere. Generally on the more expensive side but not too bad.
This used to be our favorite place. We would go here for the beef tacos, which was removed from the menu
Easily the best fish tacos ever!
Got the chicken & shrimp tacos, between the two I liked chicken a lot more. Definitely try their spicy salsa really good
Terrible, they are better in Haiti
Sure will back again for Pulpo, at least. Washroom (next to open kitchen area) is clean. Standing desks is available.
Must eat: octopus tacos Avoid: nothing. 5/5
Delicious tacos every single time. Everything is perfectly balanced and addicting. The shrimp tacos are to die for.
The menu is limited but the flavors are bang on. They have a standing table area to eat and its self service. So if you are looking for a quick bite in Kensington, this is the place to go. Food
God damn i love this place. Not a fan of the standing but the ta os make up for it easily
I had the Gobernaor. It was pure heaven. Cash only place so be aware. Stand up tables inside. I took mine around the corner to a small park with interesting characters jamming, smoking and singing. Tacos hit the spot. Worth the find.
I had carnitas tacos and I loved them! This is definitely a Mexican spot you need to try in Toronto. I also loved the music! Vegetarian options: The vegetarian option (mushrooms and cactus tacos) was really good !
Best tacos Ive had in the city. The Gobernador is one of my favs along with the MUSHROOM AND CACTUS taco which I never wanted at first but turned out to be one of the best things ever. Also the Baha fish taco melts in your mouth. I love this place. If I lived closer, Id be there regularly. Vegetarian options: Mushroom and cactus
Very good taco
Very casual place, no seating possibilities except close to entrance (space for 2-3 people). We ordered tacos, one with pork, the other with the octopus. Both were very fragrant. The problem with most mexicans in North America is that they are usually too oily/cheesy and lack in flavour. But Seven Lives really delivers in terms of flavours. Salsas are good too. The setting is very casual, so people could wonder about cleaniness, but rest assured, the kitchen and toilet were both clean! Highly recommend if in the area!
A fantastic taco place with affordable pricing, good portions, and deliciousness! Horchatas are also really good from here, and its a good way to counter any spiciness you may find in the dishes! Fast service, good food. Try it!
Hands down best sea food Taco I have ever had! The pulled pork was also nice but the smoked tuna shrimp had us back for seconds Food : 5/5
Enjoyed some seriously good tacos at lunch today
Service is ok but the tacos are really great.
Small place but tacos are so good, def rank on top among all taco places in GTA
Portions are amazing! Had the carnitas & fish taco and was stuffed Staff were super friendly and helpful. Will 100% be coming back here! Food : 5/5
great fish taco
My rating: 9.5/10. This is one of the best two tacos I ve had in Toronto. Food was amazing, super fresh, great ingredients, and very authentic. The prices were a little high though at $7.50 for a single taco, so despite the great quality that made it a 9.5 instead of a 9.6 for me. Atmosphere was fun and casual, but they only have standing counter seats , no chairs or places to sit down. Staff were very friendly and easy going. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would go back, but there are one or two small things that could be slightly better. Would recommend trying it at least once though. Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options. This would not be on my list of recommendations for a vegetarian meal. Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate dietary restrictions, but the menu is fairly short and the key dish is tacos, so if there is anything crucial to a taco that you are allergic to, I would not advise going. Kid-friendliness: The place itself is kid friendly, but the only seating is counter top tables you have to stand at, which would most likely be to tall for any kid 10 and under, so they would have to hold their dish while they eat. Wheelchair accessibility: It is a wheelchair storefront, but as mentioned above, the seating consists of counter top tables that you stand at, which would definitely be too tall for someone in a wheelchair, so they wouldn t have a table to eat on.
Tacos are good but pricy therefore you couldn t try a lot of different tacos on the menu.
Fast service and very tasty!
Update: Their quality has increased. That s rare! Amazing. Never change Old: You recently changed your taco tortillas. The new ones are not good at all. This is my fave place but the tortilla was inedible. The old tortillas were better than this, but could ve been improved upon. Please change it!
Bit of a wait, the tacos were decent. Baja Fish was delicious, shrimp was okay. Both were lacking in something not exactly too sure. Service was fantastic! Can see why it s a popular spot.
Carnitas and baja fish taco. The fish was my favourite - sooo good! Highly recommend. Thermals is also really good and has a great kick. Small stand up eatery, so grab a quick bite and go.
