Maeli Market specialized in Taiwanese imported goods like snacks and drinks. Household items, cooking ingredients, teas and fresh cooked foods: Bentos, Onigiri and many other delicious offerings!
Found my comfort food here. I missed the Taiwanese snacks so much. Also if you’re shopping here, park upstairs is free. Such a nice service! Would love to visit again
It is a small convenience store like market in the business district. The staff is super friendly to help me with my questions. By the time I got there, their food court was already closed. I picked up a noodle with vegetables and two boiled eggs, that along is almost like $20 T_T. The noodle is not bad, flavorful and light. The tea boiled egg was just plain...not worth the money ($1.5 each)
The store is bright and airy, I love the bamboo lighting and open kitchen. The staff is super friendly and helpful. This is the place to buy specific Taiwanese goods if you can’t find it at other asian grocery stores.
Neat little shop specializing in Taiwanese everyday goods and foods / snacks. The staff are helpful and smiling. The store also has a made to order hot food section (see pictures for menu). Definitely worth a visit to immerse yourself in Taiwan culture You can get your plaza parking validated with minimum spend of $15
Cute little Taiwanese market with lots of food options including cooked noodles, frozen foods, and snacks. Seems to be authentic, as the food packaging indicates it's made in Taiwan. They provide a free parking voucher if you spend $15. I've never seen the store busy, hopefully they can survive at this location. There is no in-store seating for eating the noodles 🍜.
Decent place for Taiwanese snacks, seasoning and drinks. There’s also an area for hot food. Friendly service. Parking is available on the premises. When you can’t make the trip to Taiwan, this is a good alternative. Wish there was more selection though.
Clean, comfortable, modern store for Taiwanese food, snacks, and cooking ingredients. Nice helpful staff too. I don’t go often because it’s far for me, but each time I’m delighted by new products on the shelves. They really do specialize in Taiwanese products, so they carry LEGIT made-in-Taiwan things that you don’t often see in the larger Asian/Chinese grocery stores. For example, last time I visited they had the traditional, flaky, powdery peanut candy in my photo. Yes, the container is empty because I ate it all and it was delicious and tasted like my childhood and I loved it and I’m sad it’s gone now. Other things I got include dried guava and dried green mango and freshly made lunar new year glutinous rice treats.
I recently stumbled upon Maeli Market and was blown away by their amazing selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as the friendly staff who were eager to help me find what I was looking for. The shelves were stocked with an incredible variety of snacks, from savory to sweet, and everything in between. But what really stood out to me was their specialty milk tea from Taiwan - it was simply delicious and refreshing! In addition to the great selection, the prices were also very reasonable. I was thrilled to find my favorite dry fish with black sesame, which I've been trying to find for a while now, and it was much more affordable than at other markets. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Maeli Market, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea at an affordable price.
Must visit! Super nice store! Around that store huge variety of Asian restaurants
Love the Taiwanese variety
I love the snacks they sell. Pricey but I love what I can find at this little shop.
Taiwanese style food
A great place to shop for authentic and unique products from Taiwan. The staff is super helpful and polite.
So delighted to find such a decent retail shop in Toronto. It has plenty of legit Taiwanese food and product. Excellent food and super friendly staff. I do feel like I am in Taiwan when I shop there.
used to be my fav place in the area the bento box is good and i love that they give a combo of different veggies which is very healthy however, the price is increased and the food is not as delicious now staffs r friendly and polite feels like home
Has a great selection of taiwanese snacks! I recommend the bamboo shoot biscuits, they are delicious!
The fried noodles are getting more and more unpalatable and bad. There is nothing in the fried noodles. There is no meat, not even vegetables. A portion of fried noodles costs 10 dollars, which is just fried noodles. I am speechless and I can t bear to give them any vegetables.
Lots of unique products. Variety of tea, snack, drinks, and ingredients. Their kitchen serve great popcorn chicken. The kitchen can be seen through glass window, and it is very clean. They will validate parking with purchase. Parking: Will validate parking
I usually go here for gift, but today I found their bento is great as well.
Good place for finding traditional Taiwanese food.
It s alright. Really small space. Wish there was more variety and selection. Perhaps things that I can t buy at other Asian grocery stores/speciality store s. Food : 3/5
I was there for the first time and got impressed by how friendly the staffs were. The store is well organized and very clean. You can find lots of Taiwanese products there. I love it. Went there for the first time yesterday, very nice and clean supermarket . I was looking for a local pineapple cake with a sour taste. The sales lady was very gentle and patiently introduced each product to me. I bought a lot of healthy and delicious snacks. A very satisfying shopping experience! It s a pity that they don t have Little Red Book in their store. I hope more overseas Chinese compatriots can discover this treasure shop!
Lot of Taiwan imported goods. The price is ok. It has hot foods, too.
Smaller than I thought, would recommend going for some unique products but Id say 95% of their stuff you can find at a large Chinese supermarket for cheaper.
This is one of those could #TikTok review be real? - what if instead of a snooty restaurant you had (an exquisite burger at Burgers Park next door for under $40 easy, parking included) and bought crazy high end real unique products from a culture that really respects quality over quantity. At this time in my life I d rather buy a higher protein miso soup or delicious unique (lower than usual sodium) squid treat that is perfect for movie night (hello #Cineplex buy these instead to sell WITH Gummy Bears) or in my case to keep business travel spicy! I m eating a (odourless, no smells on the plane please!) $2 coffee candy instead of $12 Pringles. I couldn t help take a lot of pictures because the design flow, the colours and textures are like a private jet designed by a botanist. With the clean and warm comfort of one too. Private lounge vibes. But seriously, competitive with Shoppers and 7-11 (as a business traveller this usually where I go in a rush) which is cool but this spot is a real treat. Parking: Parking is included with receipt!!!! The value!
So kind and generous people and very delicious food
Huge Thank you to Alice, Eric & the Cantonese speaking team @ Maeli! I have pre-ordered these Lunar New Year items a week ago as gifts to my grandma. She is a 92yo lady w/ busy schedule so I have to change my pickup day 2 times in a week. I feel so embarassed but Alice and the team never gave me attitude and even told me they will specifically make my foods fresh on Sunday. At Checkout, Eric intentionally found me a bag in red colour while he is busy dealing with other staff. My grandma and mom love the food so much. We also greatly appreciated their team effort in perfecting our orders. The snacks (in red & yellow colour with NO PRESERVATIVES): Yes, Alice, its not too sweet. They do reminded me the childhood taste of Turtle Goods. The rice bowl (which used ORGANIC glutinous rice): taste just perfect, not too sweet nor salty. My grandma and mom said this taste better than most of the sticky rice they bought from other restaurants. Thank you again & Happy Lunar New Year to the Maeli Team! Parking: Complimentary Parking from Maeli if you spend $15+
Friendly service, healthy and delicious bentos, premium curated Taiwanese products.
Its little Taiwan in one store. A variety of products ranging from snacks, drinks, sweets, and lots of tea options. They also have a hot food take out area with Bento circles instead of boxes. Stalwarts like Popcorn Chicken and Beef are available but salted pork is also an option. Pricing is on the high side though but then again, not a lot of OG Taiwanese options in the GTA so understandable. Parking is in the garage upstairs but they will give you a yellow validation stub if you spend over $15, easy to reach with all these temptations around you. #supportTaiwan
One of the best Taiwanese markets in North York. Many local products that you can t find anywhere else and high quality ingredients like spices, dried foods and desserts. There s also a kitchen, you can try some freshly made Taiwanese snacks while you shop.
Great marker, wish there is one in Mississauga
This is a fully Taiwanese grocery. I can find many Taiwanese snacks that I can t find on other stores. Highly recommended for all the Taiwanese.
We LOVE Maeli! We often buy snacks and items from here before getting dinner at one of the restaurants nearby. Maeli is beautifully designed and has a great idea variety to Taiwanese snacks, foods and things that remind me of my childhood. Service is great too - the staff are very nice.
I am happy to see a Taiwanese grocery in Toronto. Some are bit pricey but totally worth it I think. I grab a bento from here and drive to parks for a picnic in summer. Owner is very friendly.
I like this Taiwanese market the only Drawback is the parking
I was thinking to get some Taiwanese cake or snack gift boxes for my friends in the US, since last time I purchased a Oolong tea gift from here and got very good reviews. I arrived around 2PM and it was quiet at the shop, with only a couple of customers. And there was this young man standing behind the cashier so obsessed with his cellphone that he even didn t look up when I was seeking help to find my gift boxes. I felt that he s acting like doing me a favor by helping me finding the gift boxes at where he works, if he really works here. Then this young lady came over and found me a pretty gift box with assorted cookie and cakes, however she reminded me that it would expire by the end of the month. And then she told me that anything with no preservatives sold at the shop would expire in a month. I happened to have picked a box of pineapple cake in my basket so I had to check the expiry date of that box carefully. Fortunately I found it won t expire until June and I showed the ingredient label to the lady: no preservatives at all. It was the most embarrassing moment of that day. No matter how good their products are, I probably would not go there again within three months. And probably they shall not put Taipei in Toronto on the windows, because Maeli has little to do with the real Taipei, where people are kind, and services are impeccable.
The store is clean and the atmosphere is great! I love shopping here. You can find a lot of amazing Taiwanese stuff here. Their bento boxes are good, too!
Products that you cant find anywhere else! I love that the stuff is from Taiwan because I feel that the ingredients are higher quality when it comes to Asian food
Very unique market. Love their products and prices are reasonable for what it is.
went to the Taiwanese snacks and food show This week very friendly service and lots to sample. A good place to get a taste of Taiwan.
Neat Taiwanese store providing fine food and various Taiwanese snacks with good price!
Very small place and not in a convenient location.
We always visit this market for authentic Taiwanese groceries. We are impressed with them organizing this Taiwanese food festival and we indeed visit them 4 times during this promotion. They picked the cooperating vendors from different parts of Taiwan. The whole event has successfully introduced us with new and excellent quality of food. We can explore new taste and interaction with them. We hope that the market can arrange more of this type of events in the very near future! Thank you very much!
First time visiting & and finding the store has lots of Taiwans snacks, foods/drinks. The staffs are also very helpful & friendly.
Unfortunately it isnt really wheelchair accessible as it could or should be. You can not fit a manual chair round the store very comfortably without bumping parts of displays or the like. (And avoid completely when they have events you wont fit your chair regardless because no one will even pretend to see you). But other wise its a decent store that sells some items that are not common at other Asian markets as it caters to Taiwan specifically, though ill admit their take on poutine was interesting to see (my mate loved it). The store is semi Service Dog friendly, staff know about the AODA but other customers can be the actual problem sadly (which isnt uncommon as many handlers know). Though hearing a staff member mention that SDs really shouldnt be allowed in during an event was uncalled for (hence the semi part). Im just hoping that such an employee was just a temporary add and not how all staff actually think/feel.
Good variety of products and delicious bentos at a reasonable price. Free parking as well with purchase of 15$
Such a nice place, a lot of Asian snacks.
Have some great Taiwanese stuff, hope we can have more diverse brand and variety of options :)))
Nice place, I like it
Sure, they carry Taiwanese stuff that may be harder to find elsewhere. But overall it s just overpriced for no reason when you can get the same things or very comparable things from T&T or other cheaper Chinese supermarkets for much less. The store is nice but due to price I wouldn t recommend it to anyone. The parking is also very confusing and annoying. I ended up just quickly parking on the street, which isn t allowed there.
The bento is really average and not much in weight. The salted crispy chicken was too big and had a strong star anise flavor. And why do we put raw vegetables in the dumplings? Plus the wait for the meal was half an hour. Although we were the first to place an order, we had to wait until the people who placed orders later came to eat together. When there were so many people, the store was obviously understaffed and almost became a mess.
Came here for the snacks, bentos, and free parking with $15 spend. They took my order at the check out counter. There is some seating and utensils are provided. The popcorn chicken bento for $12.85 is great. Chicken is very juicy on the inside. Vermicelli bento for $6.99 is pre-made but not refrigerated, food safety is a little questionable as it does have egg and beef in it also. Its smaller than the warm bentos, but definitely still worth it if you get it right after its made. The noodles are a touch spicy and flavourful. The bao for $5.79 was just ok. Smaller than I expected with two pieces of pork belly that tasted like tea eggs. The flavour of the pork and the pickled veggies did not really match. There are snacks, drinks, bubble tea ingredients, some grocery items, a wall of tea, soap, vinegars, and more. Overall, a good place to grab a quick lunch and a snack.
Great Taiwanese place with all sorts of snacks and food
Milkfish Bento (The fish is a bit fat. It s the first time I tried it and I don t really like this fish. The rice is hard. But it s fried well and the side dishes are delicious. You can feel the care used in the ingredients. Adorable place. Miss Taiwan so much
Bentos here are amazing!
The store is pretty and very pleasant, they have specialty products from Taiwan that are good for gifts. Theres a kitchen preparing bento boxes. The Taiwanese-style vermicelli was delicious! There are a few tables outdoors, but no restrooms. Usually, customers can use the restrooms at the building across the street. Note: that building is closed on weekends. Vegetarian options: Vegan squid ring, veggie bean burger, Taiwanese-style vermicelli
Cozy with a Taiwanese theme. Have lunch bentos.
No place like it. Taiwanese market with good food. The crispy Teriyaki chicken is very good. Staff is always friendly. Quick and efficient. They have a very large variety of imported Taiwanese snacks and drinks.
I just love it!
Nice Taiwanese store. They offered tea samples and have a variety of snacks, drinks, and kitchen ware! Loved that the staff spoke Cantonese and Mandarin :) Also English. I felt very welcomed Keep up the good work!
The food is delicious
You can find popular Taiwanese snacks and candy here
We got a lunch Bento box and glad it was stuffed with food! Lots of small side dishes and not overstuffed with rice. Grocery prices are higher, but expected for import goods. Most items are ideal for gifting but also have some sundries such as preserves, sauces.
They have a lot of snacks and cooking ingredients from Taiwan. Some stuff are cheaper than T&T.
Authentic Taiwanese products with excellent service.
The Taiwanese poutine tastes very good
Taiwan comes to Toronto in a chicly designed store under a parking garage. Free parking if you purchase over $15 which is dead easy given the wonderful things they have!
Day trip to this part of town for this amazingly delicious Bento.. I got the BBQ Beef bento while hubby had the Crispy Red Yeast Pork bento. Both meals were pleasing to the tummy as well as the eyes. We love Maeli at North York.
very small place, not too much choose. You have to pay parking if you buy less than $15.
This is a large market with assortment of Taiwanese foods and snacks. Hot food is also sold as take out. Some items are not available in local grocery stores so I would go back to pick up specific items such as . Lots of items also have nice packaging and are suitable as gifts. They validate parking.
Very clean and offer lots of Taiwanese variety food products. Excellent service.
Childhood memories come rushing back as I walk through Maeli. Taiwanese snacks, Super helpful staff, delicious lunch boxes. Couldn t ask for anything more. Oh! Bonus: validated parking with $15 purchase.
Great place to grab lunch
This is the most beautiful supermarket I ve ever seen. They have so many unique snacks and cooked food that I d definitely want to come back for! Follow me on Instagram @maggielicious.to for more food adventures
Excellent store for all things Taiwan. Lots of treats, condiments, cooking sauces, and teas. Parking is free for customers who make purchases. Friendly staff.
New Edit: recently went there and they changed the chef....food taste worse....presentation poorer and side dishes worsened ....now its just oily....use to be our go to for a healthy yummy meal....now we will not go back....
Very disappointed. The infomercials in the news said its a supermarket, but they dont have any fresh fruits or vegetables, not even those that are typical in / native of Taiwan. A lot of sugary, processed/packaged food. Some of the frozen foods you can get at other Asian supermarket (T&T, Galleria), or even regular grocery stores, for much cheaper. The prepared foods are mostly deep fried, probably to appeal to the North American taste buds. The tea wares are more of Japanese style rather than Taiwanese. The cooking knife section is quite cool, though, especially the betel nut knife (thats very Taiwanese!).
Such beautiful products and lovely staff!
Good selection of Taiwanese themed products. Good layout & displays, along with some foods cooked in their kitchen
I found a good bottled jasmin tea. they have a wide selection of taiwanese goods. friendly staff too.
Good
Super clean place, good quality products, and very nice staff!
The coziest market in the city. Very clean and with a super friendly customer service. Their prices are very decent and have a great variety of choice. Highly recommend to try their food.
Everything seems really genuine and polished, you can tell the owners and staff are passionate about Taiwanese goods. There is a big window open to the kitchen which is neat. There are so many products, from small snacks and instant noodles to premium handcrafted dinnerware and beautiful knives. Prices are also variable, with small snacks $2-10 and the fancy gifts $40-100+. Something for everyone. Their food and drink menu is short but interesting. Theres the typical popcorn chicken but also pork katsu, so there is Taiwanese food as well as Taiwanese fusion. I even saw a Taiwanese poutine which I hope to try someday. You can get a good size tea for $2, which is a good way to try out their teas. Just be warned the ice kumquat lemon tea is very sweet. I think it was made with a syrup base and thats why though, compared to the other leaf tea bases. We got some of the rice boxes and they were really good! A nice variety of traditional Taiwanese dishes. I personally had the basil and sesame chicken which I think is just san bei/3 cup chicken, it wasnt too oily like some others Ive tried. I like their rice boxes more than other places because the amount of rice is less than 50% of the box, unlike other boxes where the rice seems like 65%. Also the rice had chickpeas and a red grain in it, which made the texture more interesting. My brother got the BBQ beef and actually that was really really good. The fried noodles were also great. My dad said the gua bao seemed very authentic. Im glad to see some Taiwanese representation! I was wary everything would be overpriced and superficial but I truly felt the love for Taiwan while I was there. :)
Bought some food and found out the quantity and quality below the standard not to mention pricey stuff
Plenty of Taiwan snacks, sauces and ramen! Ordered the vegetarian guabao and crispy snack tofu! So delish!
good.
I visited this little Taiwan market while visiting Toronto. super cute and super clean. I loved seeing all of my favorites from Taiwan there. And the lunchbox alone is worth the drive out, let alone the selections. the staff is also super friendly. highly recommend.
We are travelling through Toronto and found lot of gifts for our friends and family. Lovely staff !
2022 August 4 A year or more and the store is a bit more packed. There are now more products and they even serve hot food. The location is good for those working in the area. Parking continues to be free (not sure if the minimum purchase requirement still exists). Prices can be ok. 2021 3 Nice clean and modern store selling a small selection of Taiwanese goods and some kitchen pottery. Personally, not a wide enough selection of goods, but OK for a visit. Parking is free with a 15 dollar purchase. However, I couldnt find anything worth buying that I couldnt find elsewhere. So paying for parking isnt worth it just to visit. Fortunately, theres a few street parking spots available nearby. Theres a kitchen section which I assume will be available in the future for cooked/prepared foods. Im sure with this addition itll be better. For now, its OK.
The store has a lot of unique Taiwanese snacks and food/drink items for sale. The interior is spacious and tidy, with quite a variety and selection of items displayed. They also offer cooked foods like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, bentos, etc. that you can order for takeout (there are a few tables are set up outside, but no dedicated in-store seating is available). Service was friendly, though a bit slow, but it was a weekday and not too busy. If you spend more than $15 at the store, you can get 2 hours of free parking in the attached parking garage.
Very good lunch bento box only 6.99. the staff is very nice.
Fried rice noodles with Royal Tea Garden, you can go back to Taiwan in a second, delicious
Beautiful Shop
Good place to find different types of Taiwanese food.
Beauty Market is a very creative and characteristic Taiwanese food shop. The store design style is very particular, clean and comfortable, and tasteful. The products they mainly sell are Taiwanese homemade snacks, and the prices are not cheap. The main reason is that even the famous local food Snacks or cooking seasonings that cannot be bought in Taiwanese supermarket Datonghua, as well as a variety of typical kitchen knives, can be bought here, so the reason why the price is slightly expensive is understandable, because it is an exclusive supply commodity. I really enjoy visiting and getting some Taiwanese snacks and essentials. They have a very nice selection of spices, sauces and snacks. The staff are very nice and helpful. Prices are quite fair. They also do bento and other food. The place is very clean and well designed.
found that the prepared/cooked food are more authentic and appealing than those from the previous visits. Maybe the chef is different? Still a bit pricey but everything is expensive everywhere so no complaints as long as the quality is good.
This is a smaller store specialized and offered food, tea, drinks, snacks etc. From Taiwan. There are many varieties to pick. Pricewise is above average. They offer free parking for shoppers with purchase over $15. Staff is friendly and there are food and drinks tastings instore. If you fans of Taiwanese food, you should be here at least once.
It s not bad to browse inside, with a lot of Taiwanese food. If you are hungry, you can order food.
A Taiwanese supermarket. Hot food available, pop corn chicken, fried tofu, fried squid ball, ground pork rice etc. Lots of Taiwanese snack, candy, chips, tea selection. Complimentry 3 hours free parking coupon with purchase.
I thought the store would be alot bigger, but they did have some unique offerings. I did not get to try the cooked foods, but i bought some grass jelly and taiwanese fruit jellies and both were really good. Would i come out of my way for this place? Probably not but would definitely come again if in the area.
The center of Taiwan s delicacies, including pickled vegetables that are reassuring to eat, and authentic shrimp meat and shrimp crackers. Remember to redeem your parking voucher after shopping.
My favorite Taiwanese place
Great Taiwanese store!
Fully Taiwanese food and grocery in here. Yummy. Clean and bright environment. Visit here for travel Taiwan .
A fun place to visit for some snacks, drinks, supplies, and even a light snack on lunch. The environment is great, the displays are inviting, and the staff are super nice. Spend 15 dollars or more to get your parking validated. There some neat things here. Definitely worth a look when youre in the area.
Interesting shop, limited selection. Parking is difficult, but theres indoor parking that you can get a voucher for with a minimum spend (and its not posted anywhere).
Loved it. Charming little store that carries products from Taiwan. They have a variety of snacks, condiments, teas, beverages, frozen and cooked eats. Reasonably priced and free parking voucher if you purchase something over a certain amount, which is easy to do. Would recommend
what a great Taiwanese supermarket!!! It is a great place to shop for snacks & drinks. there is underground parking too. They also serve hot snack. The place is clean and the staffs are polite and friendly. I have recommended my friends to go check it out. I definitely will go visit again
Beautifully designed store filled with a wide range of Taiwanese goods, also with a nice selection of niche and higher quality stuff. Hot food section has a variety of bentos, onigiri, drinks, and snacks. Food is fresh and well packaged . Paid parking on site however discount voucher is provided when you purchase a certain amount. Definitely worth a visit
Great service, good selection of products and clean
What a charming small supermarket! You dont usually describe stores as cosy, but you do with this one. Excellent variety of good quality products and ready to eat food. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Ordered a couple of bentos and some snacks from their kitchen and few items from the supermarket, and all were great. While this is my first time in the store, it will not be my last, and be a repeat customer for sure.
Small store but great selection of Taiwanese goods. If you want more, Kuo Hua Trading company has a store near Pharmacy and Steeles.
Finally got to visit this taiwanese market. They have a ton of selection and some really interesting unique snacks too! A lot of items you can t find in other stores as well. They have a hot food section as well, but when I came, it wasn t open. Maeli market also has a ton of houseware items that are sure to please many different people preferences. They are kinda pricey, but taiwanese snacks usually are. Great place for a wide selection and quick pick ups! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics and more amazing content
Awesome Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken
Love this place! A wide variety of new food to try and old familiar munchies that makes me down the memory lane
What a great place for Taiwanese specialties! So many choices. I didnt have much time to explore everything but got some roasted squid, taro pancake, brown sugar twisted rolls, sauces and some other snacks Ive been craving but havent seen at other grocery stores. I also got a jar of their pineapple passionfruit jam that I cant wait to try. I wish i had time to get some of their freshly made snacks and bentos. Next time!
The market is on the ground level with outside entrance. Parking is in the garage, if you spend $15 or more then the market will give you a free 2-hour parking voucher. Great selection of sauces and snacks for Taiwanese cooking. Ordered food here but the ordering process for take out was a little confusing as it seems the cashier associate can take the order or the chefs. Luckily the associate saw us waiting and not being served so he took our order. They sell a lot of ingredients needed to make bubble tea. There s also a frozen food section.
New, clean, great selection of made in Taiwan stuff, fresh hot foods, tea and soft serve ice cream.
@maelimarket is a one-stop shop for your snacks fix needs. All the best Taiwanese snacks from cookies, candies, instant noodles, frozen food, beverages, the list goes on, can be found at this market. Aesthetic is clean and nice, making it easy to find what I am looking for. Their staffs are super friendly. They also have small outdoor patio set up, making it an option for a quick lunch or snacks . . @maelimarket recently serving almond flavour soft-serve ice cream. I was so excited to try. I was so shocked at how good it was. Totally tasted so much like almond flavour. It was so smooth and creamy. Thanks @maelimarket for the great service and of course wonderful ice-cream
Its very niche, it has a food bar with their version of some famous Taiwanese street foods but the menu didnt really stand out to me.
Clean
Love this Taiwanese store. Definitely will be back for more.
Since discovering this Taiwan centric market place I loved going to find childhood snacks. As well as hot foods.
Beautiful Taipei in Toronto! Why was I not here sooner?! Beautiful laid out market full of Taiwanese goodies, a hot food kitchen, that uniquely warm and friendly Taiwan-style service. This is not to be missed for foodies and us who crave that delicious home flavour and amazing selections.
Love this place. Staff is very friendly. Food is really good. Only issue I have is that the wait for food can be a bit long so I recommend ordering ahead.
Hi I got double-charged for an order I made, can you help me resolve it? EDIT: Maeli reached out to me to resolve the issue, thank you Alice for being professional and courteous when handling the refund process.
would be interested in seeing more products that might not be available at other supermarkets, or even more of the beautiful houseware items
The store has a wide range of products, including many specialties. If you buy 15 yuan or more, you will get free parking, which is very considerate. It s just that the entrance is easily overlooked and the store design should be improved.
Clean, friendly and quaint. Love going here for the lunch specials and snacks. Looks like theyve expanded their menu to include soft serve, sandwiches and more. Will need to be back soon!
Great service and amazing food. You can see the kitchen since its got huge windows and you can tell its sparkling clean, tried their new Taiwanese poutine recently and its glorious . They seem to have new menu items from time to time, so super excited to go back each time.
We LOVED our visit to Maeli market. You can find all sorts of Taiwanese goodies, from dried goods, to pastries, teas, sauces, juices, kitchen knives, kitchenware... They also have a bento/snack counter where your food is made to order. We got the popcorn chicken, the braised pork belly; both were excellent. Even got dessert on the house! Service was so courteous and generous, just like when we were in Taiwan. The store was very clean and everything well labeled. We only wish we had one back in Montreal. Will definitely re-visit when were back in TO!
Cute shop focussed on taiwanese products. There is a variety of goods such as drinks, snacks, frozen foods, sauces etc. Its pretty spacious inside and the items are neatly organized.
We were visiting from out of town and while picking up food from nearby restaurants, stopped into this store. We were more than impressed at the selection of Taiwanese snacks and drinks, stocked in a tidy manner, and at far better prices than at T&T (~50% cheaper!) All the prepared foods looked tasty but the braised pork bento box we settled on was delicious and we could tell that each ingredient included was prepared and assembled with care. The braised pork itself deserves a Michelin Star. I would have also loved to try the soft serve but it was not available at the time of purchase. The cashier at the front was friendly and helped with packaging the purchases as I had a lot of shopping bags. We will absolutely be back to try other snacks and prepared foods on our next trip to Toronto!
A clean shop with varieties from Taiwan. Great values.
This place is far from where I live but I think I love this place. The place is clean with good vibe and it specialized in selling Taiwanese items. The staff there are very polite and friendly. This place is a supermarket and also sell hot food items as well. I know nothing about Taiwanese goods so I really cannot say how good or authentic the items are but when I check the item they sell randomly, pretty much all the items I looked at is made in Taiwan so I guess its authentic.. lol. I had a nice time shopping there and bought some items I dont normally find in TnT or Chinese supermarket, eg. Passionfruit vinegar, Plum vinegar, onion oil, garlic oil ... etc.. Also tried their hot food items and I wouldnt say its the best tasting food but it is a pretty looking meal box and taste good in my opinion. Cost about $11 per meal box on average, not cheap but not super expensive either ... so I went there again the next day to try some of their other meal box as well. Give it a try... From talking to the folks who worked there, they opened for a year during when Ontario got hit by pandemic the hardest... poor them. I hope they will continue to do well as I do love this place. So support them when u can. :)
Great quality products with friendly and helpful staff! A must!
Rude kitchen staff and food was awful. The cook didn t look happy working there. I picked up a $5 Pork belly bun, when I looked inside, it was filled will just 3 thin slices of pork fat! Not a bit of lean meat. I wonder if the cook was just in a vengeful mood or just bad management.
EDIT: came back recently and found the store to have even more unique Taiwanese items at competitive prices. Staff is as helpful as ever. A young gentleman saw me looking through the tea options and offered his insight about the flavours. *** Really enjoyed walking through this well stocked Taiwanese store. They have lots of real Taiwan imported snacks, drinks, cooking ingredients, tea, and more. Theres also a hot food section that has some ready to go items but also a selection of made-to-order bentos and dishes. Staff are very nice and helpful. The space is clean and everyone is wearing masks properly. There is a paid parking garage connected to the building but if you spend $15+ you can get parking validated for free.
Very cute store for both fresh/hot and packaged Asian snacks! Menu added below for everyone visiting. Got to pick up some good gifts for the upcoming holidays. Will be back for speciality foods and drink.
