Omg I tried so many, dont know where to start. First, me and my friends just wanna grab a quick banh mi. This shop stands out the most on google map since the review is sky high. When we came, the look of it is not giving much of a nice restaurant due to lack of decor and neat settings. Yet, once we got in, the Viet owner, who also runs the shop gave us a nice welcome. Were all Vietnamese so the native vibe quickly matched. As we finished the order, she was fast and keeping us company with her background stories. Banh trang tron is one of my fav, omggggg Ive been craving for it. Highly suggest this home country snack to anyone adventurous with food. The other highlight is boba tea. Trust me, its giving strong tea flavour & milky , which is apparently hard to find since other shops serve too sweet and milky taste, not much of tea portion in it. AND, THE PRICE IS CRAZILY INEXPENSIVE. We tried 5, 6 different dishes and drinks. Only $11 for each of us, cant be any cheaper in this downtown spot. Definitely will come back.

Banh mi was made with love! Amazing meat, pate and all other ingredients tasted fresh. Bun was soft and the first bite made my day. I like it spicy so she added extra chili for me, and it was fantastic!

I love this places Banh MI Sandwiches. $6 only for a good portioned Vietnamese sandwich. Delicious. Ive tried the honey sausage, lemongrass chicken, and I think the bbq banh mi sandwiches, plus they also make fried rice for under $10. They have daily specials, too. They also serve Vietnamese coffee. I tried the iced one and its great! Strong and sweet. Auntie is a delightful person. Shes the owner, who is also your cook and cashier. Cool. Smelled a little bit funky, and too many things were going on in the restaurant: the lady was working alone, coughing due to allergies... My boyfriend was doubting that probably Canadians have no taste bud since this place has 4.8 stars, but the lady was friendly and the food was affordable and yummy! After that, my boyfriend had a good bowel movement and the toilet was clogged. This place is definitely underrated. Will be back for sure!

What a gem! Great food, prices, and staff. I went for a walk just to grab something quick to eat in an area I didn t know well. Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! The person working (I believe the owner) was an absolute angel on earth. She was friendly, helpful, and considerate of dietary restrictions. My friend went to tap his phone to pay and she informed him there was no tap, and if he didn t have a card not to even worry about paying. He had his card on him but the gesture was very sweet. At that point I already knew the experience was going to be great. Then the food came and I realized this was really an amazing find. I had the lemongrass chicken banh mi, and it was very fresh and yummy. My friends also enjoyed their bbq chicken banh mi and pork banh mi. All were only around $6 and they were filling! I m excited to go back and try the other menu items, as they all look yummy and are a really fair price. A tip, try to bring cash so you can avoid a small charge for using debit/credit, and know that they don t take tap! Will definitely go back!

I was googling Banh Mi in my area on google maps the other day and I came across 88 foods. Once I checked out the photos of the restaurant my memory was instantly jogged, this was the place I d been walking by for years and always meant to go in. After reading the reviews I had to go and meet the sweet lady that made delicious Bahn Mi that everyone was raving about. Today was the day and the reviews did not disappoint! I was greeted by this adorable, older Vietnamese woman. She welcomed me with a smile from ear to ear and cheerful hello. It was right then and there I knew I was standing in Toronto gem. The conversation was easy and she was so happy to chat and get to know me. I miss places like these. We also talked a bunch about how sad it was the Uber and Skip were making it hard for small businesses to survive. I told her that I was so happy I found her restaurant and that I always do my best to support small businesses like hers. Do your self a favour and stop by 88 foods. Remember word of mouth is the only thing keeping businesses like these alive. Amazingly priced, delicious food made with nothing but love. I ordered a lemongrass chicken and cold cut Bahn Mi. The price, quality and customer service can t be beat!!! I ll be back real soon to try more things on the menu.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. Legitimately the best Vietnamese restaurant around downtown toronto . Doesn t matter what I get I end up liking it. I have been eating here for a few years now. Owner offer a variety of snacks and dishes and probably the best porkchop meal I ve had. Plus her vietnamese coffee is to die for! wont destroy your budget. I even kept the owners phone number so I could place an order in advance!

Just 1 word: AMAZING! Everything from the food, the vibe, the service makes it a small but perfect getaway spot from the heat of Toronto s summer. My recommendation for an authentic Vietnamese breakfast would be: lemon grass pork/chicken bread with s a á coffee (iced milk coffee) or coconut cafe. The price is really hard to beat: just $5.30 (cash) or $6 (card) for a banh mi in the heart of downtown Toronto. Will definitely come back again since the owner is adorable and probably the only place in Toronto that resembles to the local food stalls back in my home country

Absolutely fantastic place - first of all, finding full healthy meals for under $10 is hard to do - so this place is absolutely incredible on that metric alone. The food though was amazing. I had the chicken chowmein and it was both simple and delicious with plenty of veggies and chicken to go with the noodles. No complaints, and I have a feeling that Ill be back enough times to include this in my college days memories.

Didnt come with any lettuce/herbs which wouldve really added to the dish (but was good without as well!). Banh mi with honey garlic sausage was okay, good for the price. Vietnamese iced coffee was great. The owner is very lovely and made for an overall good experience. Definitely check it out!

The first time I found out about this restaurant was from my classmates through Mixed Rice Paper dish it is called Banh Trang Tron. Banh Trang Tron is a traditional snack that Vietnamese youth in our country really love to eat, although her Banh Trang Tron dish is not as eye-catching as other restaurants, but what I really like about it is that she will pleasure to make it for you as you want. The shop here is super friendly and she added a lot of toppings in the Banh Trang Tron and especially she will always make it according to your taste. The shop here has a lot of diverse and popular dishes in nowaday in Vietnam like the menu pictures below that I have posted, I highly recommend everyone to try Banh Mi with Chicken and Lemongrass, because every time I when to her restaurant, she was cooking lemongrass chicken, oh my god, the aroma of chicken and commune blended together make me feel so amazing! Next is about the lady, she is extremely friendly, caring, and extremely funny. For me, when going to a restaurant, the first thing that matters to me is the attitude of the staff or the salesperson because I feel that if they are friendly and always happy with me, Im always willing to try their dishes. Oh, I forgot, there is one more dish I also want everyone to try, which is Coconut Coffee. There is nothing more than in this strange land to have a person from the same hometown who treats us well like a family member!

Blink and you ll miss it! With the repurposed containers, handwritten signs, and apparent lack of air conditioning, this place reminds me a my parents home. Definitely a hidden gem in Toronto. My girlfriend and I ordered Vietnamese bubble tea, iced coffee, rice paper salad, rice rolls and pork chop. Everything here is tasty and authentic. Highly recommended! Maybe more tables will be better for those who want to stay and eat.

Previously saw a review stating not kind to Vietnamese people and only to foreigners - just want to say that s the opposite experience I had as a Vietnamese customer. Food was great as well as service, I decided to dine in and felt super comfortable and at home. As a coffee lover, you can never go wrong with Vietnamese coffee but this was made just to my liking. Highly recommend :)

Yummy food only topped by the wonderful service with a smile. She was so welcoming in the space and had such a great selection of things to choose from. I opted for a BBQ chicken banh mi and it did not disappoint!! Gotta head back to try the others soon!
