On our way back home, we decided to get some Jamaican food since we can’t get it where we live and MAN did get hit the spot. The food at 9 mile was awesome!!(I am Jamaican btw!) we ordered the oxtail and bbq fried chicken w/ rice and peas and let me tell you.. it was some of the best I’ve had. We were also given a sample of curry goat and jerk chicken!! 5 stars across the board!! They even have a vegan stew peas if you don’t eat meat!! We cant wait to try the breakfast menu!!
Best spot for Jamaican food downtown TO! The minute I tasted the rice and peas I knew it was authentic and cooked by a Jamaican! It sweet mi! Large portions and all the flavours are on point. Oxtail was falling off the bone, fried chicken nice and crispy, and then you add some curry goat gravy? NICE! So happy I can finally get a taste of home in the downtown core. You won’t regret checking them out!
Wow okay. Wonderful people. Greeted kindly when I entered and the owners let me know they recently opened. Now let me get into the food, chicken was tender, sauce on the jerk beautifully sweet with spicy perfect blend. Coleslaw, amazing fresh cucumbers, which really cut the spice and just made the meal so delicious. There was a juice in the fridge that I was asking about and the owner offered me to have a sample and it was delicious. They make everything in house. The cornbread had me in my feelings. Overall I am so happy I chose this spot. I always research so long to make sure I make a good a choice, and this place surpassed my expectations. Definitely going back even tho it’s far from me. Oh and i got biscuit cheese cake for dessert and it was really good.
I’ve been here 3 times now and this place is incredible. Everything I’ve ate is so flavourful and fresh. I plan to try everything . This is the jerk salmon with Rasta pasta . The best flavours I’ve had. They are open very late and have the best customer service . It feels like going and getting a home cooked meal. So happy I found this place!
Decided to try their new menu addition salmon bite bowl. Healthy mix of veggies and protein. Salmon seasoned and glazed well made to order. This selection is a close contender to the curry goat meal I usually enjoy.
I came here with a friend today and the atmosphere itself wasn't all that inviting. The woman at the counter seemed to be very irritable. As she was preparing our orders we had asked for oxtail gravy on the jerk chicken and she proceeded to tell us that she doesnt have a lot of gravy and then gave us bbq sauce without asking if that was okay on the rice. Not to mention, we noticed that the meals appeared to come with rice, pasta, and mash potatoes on the board so we politely inquired if we would be getting all three however, became very condescending, and started raising her voice at us, while repeating several times “you only get one. You can only choose one. Rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes. Not all three” but when we were ordering she never asked what we prefer, she just gave us rice and peas. Overall the food was not all that. For the price of the oxtail the portion should be a lot bigger. It was literally mostly rice and 5 pieces of oxtail. The oxtail itself was very bland. The jerk chicken was not one bit of jerk, it barely had a kick to it. It also lacked color and overall flavor. You would think if the food is lacking that the customer service would atleast be on point but I guess not. I wouldn’t recommend.
WOW WOW WOW. Some of the best oxtail I've ever eaten and the fried chicken oh my God. My kids are picky eaters and they absolutely love the fried chicken as well. I would definitely recommend this please. You can tell quality food and quality ingredients this is my new go to spot for oxtail 100 %. Can't wait to try the curry goat which is my next favorite thing besides oxtail.
So happy to have tried 9 Mile last week. After seeing a few reviews, my partner and I definitely had to try it out. Chris the owner, made the service and atmosphere a 10/10. The Jerk Chicken was so delicious, you could taste the time and love that went into it. The space will grow as they continue to build and excited to try other items on the menu. Thank you 9 Mile team!
One of the worst customer service I ve ever experienced they never have items that are listed on the menu and when you inquire about these items, they kind of get upset that you are asking, but as a consumer, I should always be treated with respect
The food here is always sooo fresh. Ive been here many times and it s never stale. The jerk salmon is to die for and don t get me started on the curry goat. DELICIOUSSSSSS!!!!
Best jerk and goat and open late
Top notch. Chris isn t playing games.
Best Jerk Chicken in town by far!!!
First off, the owner Chris is always welcoming and gives excellent customer service. As for the food, it s just amazing! The jerk, curry goat and oxtail have that authentic Jamaican taste and flavours that make it easily 10/10.
Love Chris, big up Chris and the crew! The food Deh NICE !!!! taste just like grandma kitchen
Stumbled across this amazing Gem in the neighborhood, the food is delicious hot and fresh! It s obvious Chris and his team take a lot of pride in their food and cook with passion!
BEST Jamaican food in Toronto, you will not be disappointed. Super friendly service.
So glad I live nearby because this is my go-to. So so good, recommended it to everyone I know :) They are clearly proud of their food and it shows!
Best jerk in Toronto
Me and my wife order from here at least once a week. The food never disappoints, love the portions and it s always perfectly seasoned.
Best Jamaican spot in Toronto hands down! The service is amazing! I was indecisive about what food to get, and got a couple sides for free to try out! I will for sure keep coming back. The jerk chicken, curry goat and plantain is amazing. And also try out the porridge if you can it s delicious
Great place. Food was awesome and the customer service even better. Definitely check them out.
Food was amazingggg! Oxtail with the mac and cheese hits the spot, and not stingy with the portions at allll!! Those stuffed patties are super fire too ! You have to check this place out
9 Mile is a restaurant I recommend ALLL my friends! customer service 10/10.. hours of operation 10/10 & food?? 12/10
Had to provide last minute lunch for 12 people so I ordered the jerk chicken tray and a tray of rice and peas. Everybody LOVED IT!! They all asked where I got it from and are excited to go back. One of the guests even said it s the best Jamaican food he s had since he s been to Canada. Thank you so so so much !!
Great spot on Bloor @ Lansdowne. The curry goat is pure fire. This is literally the best Jamaican spot in the city. Had the goat, oxtail and BBQ chicken. Cant go wrong with 9 mile. I strongly recommend it.
Best curry goat I ve eaten in the city 10/10
This spot is actually always open late as it shows online. Probably one of the best Jamaican food spots to open in Toronto in a while. I recommend for everyone to try it.
Food was good and she blessed the curry goat
my favourite Jerk Chicken in Toronto, and the owner is incredibly kind. the blend is a little bit spicy, which is unique, and the meat falls off the bone.
Food is sooooooo good !!!
The best and most delicious Jamaican jerk chicken, the pork is perfectly cooked, the ingredients are always fresh and the chef is professional, clean and very kind, friendlyI definitely recommend 9 mile, Also, their desserts are exquisite! If I could give them ten stars, I would definitely do so.
**5 Stars** My wife and I recently visited Nine Mile, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and served by the owner, a very hospitable and pleasant lady who clearly takes pride in her cooking. Because we were coming from a long distance, we decided to order enough food to last the day, and every dish exceeded our expectations. Some of the items we had were the macaroni and cheese not Mac pie, but good old-fashioned, creamy macaroni and cheese oxtail with rice and peas, fried chicken, stew peas with no meat, and ackee and saltfish with fried dumplings. Let me tell you, everything was a 10/10 and the fried dumplings were easily some of the best we ve ever had! One of the standout dishes was the ackee and saltfish waffles with jerk chicken syrup (or jerk syrup). The combination was creative and absolutely delicious. You could taste the waffle, saltfish, and jerk flavors all at once, and it worked so well together. It s clear that the owner is confident in her cooking, and for good reason the flavors are on point. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity of the food. It s rare to find a place that exceeds the hype, but Nine Mile is absolutely worth the drive. We re already planning to recommend it to our congregation and will be catering our future board meetings through them. As a bonus, we were worried about parking since it s located downtown, but it was surprisingly simple, and we had no issues finding a spot. Thank you to the owner and the team at Nine Mile for an incredible experience. We ll definitely be back soon!
The best curry goat and oxtail in the GTA
Love the food here, seriously the best curry goat in Canada. Jeremiah chicken a the real deal. Everything nice , youre gonna keep coming back. I guarantee it.
Honestly the food was just OK got the oxtail and chicken combo ,mac and cheese(OVER SALTED TO THE Max )cornbread (smelt like it was going bad ) but the oxtail was good but listen I will forever deduct points from restaurants that dont provide a washroom for paying customers ... it should be mandatory... just basic hygiene to me ,if you want to wash your hands before eating ops sorry go wash it somewhere else well how about I go spend my money at that same somewhere else
My friends told me to stop by at this spot because the owner (Chris) gave them free food, so I wanted to try it. I finally stopped by and he blessed me rice and peas and bbq chicken, a staple, but I didn t fall in love until I had the Mac and cheese and oxtail, What a beautiful cuisine. Great atmosphere and spectacular customer service thanks for having me 9 mile.
First thing, a good goat depends on the restaurant and the curry goat at 9Mile mek mi restart eat red meat. My favourite hands down. Have a sweet tooth? Well you dont even have to leave to find cake since the pastries are made in house and they always launching new flavours eg. Baileys rum salted caramel cheesecake, just tell me you want mi fat and done. Late night snack, try the stuffed patty (plantain, jerk chicken, beef patty). The weekend breakfast service shell with the ackee and saltfish waffle batter topped with more ackee. If you love ackee then make the drive in the mornings between 8am - 12pm. Eating ital, then stew peas. I have so much food there. Their full menu is on the website and socials.
Coming from a Grenadian 9 mile is a hidden gem that offers not only mouthwatering Jamaican cuisine but also exceptional service that makes you feel like family right here in downtown Toronto. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive yet unobtrusive care throughout the meal, the staff go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The jerk chicken is perfectly spiced, the oxtail tender and flavorful, and the fried plantains are simply irresistible. If you re looking for authentic Jamaican flavors paired with outstanding hospitality, 9 MILE is the perfect choice.
Its a very good place for Dining the food Service and entertainment is okay Vegetarian options: It was good Food : 5/5 |
The food was amazing! The flavours and seasonings are so well balanced! Will be coming again!
Mile restaurant is awesome. Its good Check it out. This food is amazing.
Not enough tables. Customer service is great! Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
been looking for a jamaican spot in the west end for a minute, everything on the menu is a 10/10!! oxtail pasta goes crazy update: had to add more pictures of these meals i ve been eating they re cause it s all
A good friend and I came in and was greeted with a smile. (Customer service has to be on point for me to spend my money) I proceeded to ask the gentleman if he has any Ital stew peas left, which he did. My friend blurted out that it s my earthstrong today. He asked what did i want, coleslaw or steam veggies, white rice or rice and peas (rice and peas W/steam veggies was the order of the day for both of us) Our meals came out piping hot. We ordered a Canada Dry and a sorrel drink. The gentleman(owner) said just pay me for the drinks. I was touched by his kind gesture . He didn t have to acknowledge my birthday by comp ing our meal. Thank you again! Since he comp d I had to buy an Ital stew to go. 9 Mile is my go to spot for Ital stew peas now that Crystal restaurant has closed. Great meal over all. One suggestion, get some more seatings so that I can return with family or friends for Sunday dinner
First place in a while where the Jamaican food is authentic & tasted like a family member made it at home their rice & peas is just *chefs kiss* also, very hospitable service
I was very eager to try because Of all of the rave reviews however I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was clean but it looked like theyre under renovation or something not super Inviting. The service: I was almost gonna turn around because the servicer did not seem very pleased or pleasant and somewhat irritated.. I felt uncomfortable asking questions to clarify the fast moving menu. She seemed to warm up a little bit towards the end but I was already turned off. The food appears beautifully online But they didnt really have much at around 5:30. My order came with the minimum... I ordered the goat because I was told it was the best goat but it was salty and full of fatty parts and bones and barely any meat. The rice was mushy the only thing I enjoyed was the coleslaw. I ordered jerk chicken for 2 other people and neither of them were impressed. Maybe my experience was rare but I dont plan to revisit.
Good food and service. The rum and raisin cake was amazing
All around 10 out of 10 out of 10 !!!! Best curry goat in DT - a must try!
The best Jamaican jerk spot in Toronto
Delicious food! Can t wait to try again !
Amazing Fresh and yummy Food
so yummy and fresh. boneless chicken was fire and the mac and cheese was delicious
Amazing Curry goat! It was so tender. Excellent service too! My partner and I wanted to share a meal so he kindly split one meal into to portions for us. My Jamaican girlfriend slapped my fork away when I tried to eat some of her curry goat lol that s how much we both loved it!
The food is excellent. The curry goat with rice and peas are to die for !!!!
Took too long and was too spicy.
A hidden gem! I ve had different porridges, soup and meals as well such as the oxtail and curry chicken and this place doesn t disappoint! You can really taste the authentic Jamaican flavours in every dish. Have recommended this place to other friends and family. The owner and chef definitely knows what s up!
Best stuffed pattie ever!!
The food was too good to pass! I got lunch special jerk chicken with rice peas Also stuffed patty and Chris guaranteed that the stuffed patty is the best out here! And he wasn t lying at all! It was flavourful and defs wasn t like any other stuffed patty I tried. I highly recommend hitting up this place super authentic and Chris takes great of his customers and stands by what he serves . This is something you don t see a lot these days! Amazing customer service + GOOD ass food =
Amazing flavors here, they don t hold back! The lunch special is a great value and the service is friendly. Go get it!
Beautiful traditional food!!
Awesome Carribean food; jerk chicken was very authentic and curried goat packed a punch.
Good amount of food. The food slapped. Staff was nice!
Amazing goat curry, can t wait to try the rest.
Such an amazing food place, had their fried chicken with rice and peas as well as the stuffed chicken patty. Outstanding! I will definitely be back
Great service! The meal was fresh and tastefully delicious. The only place to have stew peas well made with no meat/pork in it. The portion was exceptional, Just the right amount of coconut in the rice and peas. Nicely chopped provisions in the stew, making the combination of texture and flavour a plus. The hosts were hospitable and didn t hesitate to explain the reason behind the name 9 mile . All in all a great experience and I ll definitely be back. Y all make sure you stop by for the full experience. Thank you 9 Mile
Delicious peppermint and chocolate chip cheesecake!
Highly recommend the oxtail with rice and peas that soak up the goodness! Delicious and generous portions. I imagined keeping some for leftovers but devoured it all. Very friendly neighbourhood place that stays open till 4 am and also does catering.
Best Yawd Food on Bloor ! Everything authentic ! 10/10!
Rude employee
Amazing food, kind service! Portions were great. The oxtail mac and cheese was delicious. Also the best curry goat I ve ever had!! Must try.
Love LOVE the food here! Prepared with skills reminiscent of back in the day when the Jamaican mothers would serve food to the community with love. Seasoning and slow cooking made Sunday dinners last all week! The stuffed patty MY GOOD-NESS! Its a two hander! Im determined to try mostly everything on the menu!! To the dope owners, thank you for coming to my hood and being friendly and inviting! P.s. THEY DO CATERING TOO Dietary restrictions: They most definitely have vegan options like lasagna and pasta
Great authentic Jamaican cuisine with amazing customer service!
Food
That was quite possibly the best oxtail I ve had in a very long time!! Amazing food, my husband had the fried chicken and it was also amazing 10/10 !! Highly recommend!
For true authentic Jamaican food this is the spot! Everything is mouth water good. Here is my suggestion to whom is reading my review. Go try it! Order something different each time or order a few dishes at once you will not be disappointed. Start with the curry goat over white/plain rice, or jerk chicken over rice and peas. Those two are my favourite .. ok include the fried chicken over rice and peas. Oh my I can t stop! I just suggest trying each dish. Also do your self a favour and close out your meal with the signature cheesecake! Rum and raisin a mi fi tell you. It nice so till! Anyway have a blessed day and enjoy your weekend with a meal from 9 Mile they also do catering. Happy Thanksgiving
Amazing food, good music and friendly staff. I cannot express how good the food was! Definitely satisfied and exceeded my craving for good down home Jamaican food. And the stuffed patties
Best food in the city, very generous portions of flavorful packed food, conveniently located. Made this my go to spot, highly recommend this spot, service is second to none, my only problem is that my stomach isnt big enough to fit all that delicious food.
The food here is phenomenal, best Jamaican food I have had since being in toronto, I cannot recommend this place enough.
Wow Amazing food . Best curry goat ever had
This is NOT fast food. Man makes the real thing. The jerk chicken and the stew chicken were straight wins (flavour was deep to the bone) and we also sampled the curry goat and oxtail when we were there and well be going back for sure! Food tastes like it was made by your cuz who can cook real good for some reason. And the rice and peas -- this is not some industrial line sh**. The taste is REAL! Try it! NOTE: the only reason I gave the atmosphere 4 stars is because its kind of a simple joint with a table or two to eat there or just take your food with you -- like a real Caribbean spot. But I am not really coming there to pop a bottle of champagne either -- this is Toronto, you dont know what people might expect. I am there to EAT!
Shoutout 9mile.. I travel from Brampton once a week.. everything was great and amazing the portion is like no other! Came in thanksgiving Friday and won a raffle for thanksgiving turkey! You gotta hit them up and support.. they just getting started
Great folks Great food Great vibes Mac and cheese is on point; ask for more cheese.
My husband and I traveled all the way from Mississauga. We tried their Oxtail, Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken and BBQ Chicken. 10/10 hands down and this is from a chef s point of view. The food was chef kissed. Not to mention the customer service was exceptional. Our experience was a 10/10 DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK !
This has got to be one of, if not the top Jamaican restaurants in the city (Im Jamaican myself). The food is always well-seasoned. The oxtail is my favourite thing to order. A lot of places dont do oxtail very well (its either tough or too fatty), but they make theirs perfectly. Every friend/family member Ive brought here has loved it. Very happy to have them in the area!
Absolutely delicious!!! I was worried about the jerk chicken being too spicy but it was so balanced. Im super picky about food and have nothing bad to say, enjoyed my meal thoroughly.
The rice and peas was edible by itself. It was not short of ingredients. If I left the store with just rice and peas I would have been satisfied. The curry goat was mouth watering! You can tell that it was slow cooked and seasoned to the bone. Well done. This restaurant is a must try!
Just came to 9Mile on Sun Sept 1 and its 12:55pm. Its closed with no sign saying theyre closed for the long weekend and google says they shouldve been open at noon and their electric sign out front says theyre open 10am to 10pm on Sundays. Poor communication
Super flavourful authentic jamaican food and great friendly service We loved it!
I m so glad 9 mile is a few steps away from my apartment. Life changing curry goat, delicious stuff patties, fall off the bone oxtail and much more! Friendly and great service. You ll be hooked after your first visit!! Enjoy!!
The curry goat and oxtail were outstanding . The meats were cooked to perfection, with deep, savory flavours that showcase true mastery caribbbean cooking .Every dishes is rich ,hearty and deliciously spiced . A definite highlight of the menu and worth every bite.
Oh wow . An amazing find! The flavors at this Jamaican restaurant are out of this world. The jerk chicken is the best Ive ever had spicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The BBQ chicken and jerk pork are equally impressive, with deep, rich flavors that linger. The oxtail and goat curry are so tender and packed with a delicious blend of spices. Even the pasta dish is unique and satisfying. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole dining experience a pleasure. I cant recommend this place enough!
Best Jamaican food I ve ever had, everything taste so seasoned and delicately prepared. Presentation was good too, rice and peas was perfect. That salmon tasted like it was living a luxury life before getting hooked and cooked, lol I m a foodie excuse me. Definitely will be back at 9 mile
Great food and good service. I tried the Fried Chicken and Curry Goat combo. Also had a slice of cheesecake which was really good too.
Fantastic!!!!!
Ive had the fried chicken, oxtail, jerk chicken and jerk pork, everything was sooooo yummy!! As a Jamaican living here i try so hard to find restaurants that taste like home and they come really close. Their food is really good!
incredible tasting jamacian food. friendly staff, affordable, open late, not much more you could ask for.
New Restaurant, first visit and food was off the chain... my favorite thus far is the Curry Goat n Rice n Peas
Ok, so if you are old school, you remember when the best curry goat in the GTA was at Jamaica House on Weston Rd. Well, tmes have changed and there are a LOT of choices in Toronto. But let me be clear. There is only one option. I work all over the city and need food regularly so I have been to my share of places. Let me say it clearly; 9 Mile curry goat is THE TRUTH. Flawless in execution. The meat is perfectly tender, immaculately seasoned. And while I would normally draw for white rice with my goat, 9 Mile makes delicious rice and peas. You know the one where you could just eat the rice as a meal?? Yeah. That one. Sorry I dont have pics. Everytime I go there I cant wait one more second to finish it. I should also mention that the owners are warm, welcoming, and genuine. I cant recommend this place enough. Let your mother take a Sunday off. This is the real deal.
Very seldom do I do a food review and not snap a picture right away but this was different, I couldn t do it because I didn t feel like I bought this. On top of that.. I ordered through Uber Eats. You ever have that one family member that can cook the hell outta some food that make you forget about that tough day you had? Then the moment you eat that meal, everything just melts away and you are realigned again; that was this restaurants Curry Goat for me. Love is the main ingredient in the dish and everything follows after that. I haven t had a curry goat like this since my grandfather passed it s been some time. I was transported back to a time where I felt so nostalgic, like he made that plate of food for me again. I ll save the long story but as a popular Toronto food reviewer named Oxtail Papi said RUN, SPRINT, DO NOT WALK TO TRY THE FOOD I m glad I listened. Continue to bless us with this late night food because that was top tier cause that was DELIVERED FOOD I can t imagine getting it right when it s severed
I ordered from uber eats. Online it shows the food coming from 545 keele street. It actually comes from the bloor street location. The jerk chicken and pasta with vegetables was not edible. The cornbread was like cake and the plantains were oily. I also ordered ginger beer which was substituted for grace island soda ginger beer. I ordered two bottles of a different brand. And I only got one. Then I saw the response on Uber Eats after the restaurant review. In a word, it was truly as pathetic as the food they serve. I won t even describe how long it took to prepare the food that showed up. Also, what I did eat gave me bad diarrhea. So my experience with this hole in the ground was painful. Save yourself the trouble. ORDER ELSEWHERE!!!
Beef patty is great, jerk chicken is great, fried chicken is out of this world. The folks are very chill. They re out here keepin it real.
First time at 9Mile and did not disappoint! I had their jerk chicken with rice and peas, the chicken was well seasoned, rice and peas and super bless! My guy also made me try their oxtail free of charge! I definitely recommend this restaurant, great customer service and very generous. Coming back next week to try their curry goat!
I ve been coming to 9 mile since May and from the very first time it felt like home the food the vibes warm welcoming the owners all made me feel at home . The food portion is what really impressed me at first and then it was the authentic flavour of the jerk chicken then I started to explore more of the menu and fell in love with every dish having curry goat a couple times a week . A restaurant gem in the heart of Landsdowne this is a must visit .
I came here with my family a few weeks ago and then again last week and now minutes to midnight on my way for some of their amazing food! THE OXTAIL! THE CURRY GOAT! THE JERK SALMON!!! Their rice and peas my goodness, I feel like Im in Jamaica the way the food nice! If youre looking for AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN food, 9 Mile no question is the place to get it!
The best Jamaican restaurant in Toronto go there, and they have honest respectful people you be treated like a king or a queen try that restaurant is truly good
I had the curry goat with rice and peas and let me say the food was awesome. Goat was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
The jerk chicken is amazing! It blew me away, so much flavour! Great service too
I was in the area and craving Jamaica food. I got to sample the jerk chicken and it was perfect. Spicy and well seasoned. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Highly recommended.
I ordered the jerk chicken. It was ok but a lot of rice with very little gravy. The dish is served without salad which is unusual
Amazing food, great people. Happy to have them in the neighborhood!
The food here is incredible and the owner is awesome. We did a catering order for some jerk chicken, rice&peas, ox tail, coleslaw and festivals. Everything was delicious and hot and very fresh tasting. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to other people in the future.
The best goat in the city and I dont ask you.
Exceptional customer service and fantastic food. They take the time to go the extra mile to correct any mistakes or mishaps by always placing the client experience first. One Love!
I stumbled on this place and had to uturn to check it out and found myself coming back 2 times a week, because the food was amazing. Started eating the Jerk dinner, and curry goat, but then tried the jerk pork and curreid chicken (I spent $60 to $70 for my order because I did not want to cook for the week). Very tasty and the long drive to get there is worth it. It helps that they open late on certain nights to 3am (check what day before going). This couple is constantly improving and looking for new ways to deliver quality food and service- Thanks guys and keep up the good work. Ron G
Portion size was good for the price, food was delicious, server was nice, and its open till 4am! Would order again to try the other options.
The staff behaved very badly towards me When I asked them if my food was ready or not? And she was not doing any work at that time. She was just using her phone. Kid-friendliness: Bad
This place is phenomenal, such a welcome addition to the community, lovely friendly people. Best Oxtail and Goat curry I have ever had. Delicious.
Food is amazing, all homemade. They take great care of you. They want you to be happy. Strongly recommend.
Best curry goat Ive ever had. The staff is super friendly. We order this at the office atleast weekly. Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street by value village.
Despite its late opening hours, this Jamaican food store serves up some of the most authentic and mouthwatering Jamaican cuisine Ive ever had the pleasure of tasting. It has quickly become one of my favorite spots to satisfy my cravings for Jamaican flavors. The star of the show for me was undoubtedly the jerk salmon
Came in today with my boyfriend Patrick for a beef patty and stayed for the jerk chicken. My boyfriend was undecided about the jerk chicken or the oxtail and the gentleman must have overheard us because on the way out he called us back to give us a sample of the curry goat and oxtail. My boyfriend was really happy to find a new Caribbean spot close to home and confirmed both the chicken and oxtail were delicious. We will be returning. Thank you kind sir.
Grabbed me some Jerk Chicken with steamed vegetables and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this place. The staff are nice and the food is great! I wish they would get more tables and seating though!!!
This is the best Jamaican food spot in Toronto!! Food taste very authentic and delicious!
hands down the best! chris is a kind soul and the food is absolutely amazing! oxtail >>>>
Outstanding service and great food!!
Delicious, authentic Jamaican food. I got the curry goat and my boyfriend got the oxtail. Both were great. Good portions sizes too. Definitely coming back!
Amaxing food! Meat is so tender and gravy is so rich. Fresh and AUTHENTIC jamaican food.Portions are good too.No need to look further just come here.
Love the oxtail and jerk combo
I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars because THEY deserve it. The service was, by far, some of the best customer service Ive received at a restaurant in Toronto. To top it off, the food was AMAZING. Probably the best jerk chicken Ive had in Toronto. They also have homemade cheesecake! (I cant wait to try all the flavours) Their portion size & price are very affordable. A MUST try! Cant wait to go back.
Wow
It was such a pleasure entering this place. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming! The food is 100% authentic Jamaican. So good, just like home. No need to go anywhere else. Pickup or delivery, you wont regret it!
Curry goat and jerk chicken on point!!!! good service, great food. Ill be driving from Brampton every weekend
I m thankful that I heard about this new restaurant from a tweet. Sasha (one of the owners) is amazing and when speaking with her you can tell her passion for cuisine. I appreciated her story and how they are intentional with not using preservatives in their food. I had the curry goat with lemonade and it was amazing, highly recommend this restaurant.
My pops got me takeout it was fantastic.
I had to not eat breakfast or lunch because I know I m coming to 9 miles to get dinner and the food is too darn good not to eat a lot of it and I m trying to lose a few lbs . Let me tell y all I got curry goat , jerk chicken and oxtail meal & I just tried the curry goat and I felt like I was in Jamaica to how authentic the curry goat taste if I close my eyes and eat it no one can t tell me that I m not in Jamaica . My boss told me about this place & I was like what does a white Canadian know about good Jamaican food so I didn t care to buy it untill I saw this famous tiktokker / YouTuber did a review about this place & I decided to try it out & it was the bomb !! Very very good authentic Jamaican food. Parking: That s the only downfall to this place the parking so I encourage customers to just order the food and pick up quickly
One of the best Jamaican spots! Delicious and tasty!! The best in Canada.
One of the best Authentic Jamaican spots in the city by far. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend if its your first time trying Jamaican food.
Took way too long for my order the fried chicken tasted like kfc no flavor also the macaroni and pasta had no flavor .
Our first experience here was impressive and the owner/ chef was more concerned with how we enjoyed the food rather than the money. He offered us samples which was very thoughtful. The chef praised himself for his curry goat and he was on point with this signature Jamaican dish!
The staff was friendly .The jerk chicken was very tasty The atmosphere was great. The curry goat and rice and peas were very tasty and the price is reasonable
9 Mile Restaurant is a culinary gem, offering a truly amazing dining experience with its authentic Jamaican flavors. The jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, cornbread, and mac & cheese are simply outstanding, each dish bursting with rich, vibrant spices that transport your taste buds straight to the heart of Jamaica. What sets 9 Mile apart is not just the exceptional food but the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. The owner, Chris, is a standout, taking the time to share his inspiring story while ensuring every dish is served fresh and delicious. His dedication to both the cuisine and his customers is evident and adds a personal touch to the dining experience. Highly recommend 9 Mile Restaurant for anyone craving authentic Jamaican food. We will definitely be back for more!
Juicy chicken yum
Nice Food I really love the taste. Reasonable price and friendly staff. Love to visit again
The atmosphere is very nice . Have tested almost all foods .The curry goat and jerk chicken are favourite . Fried chicken and its sauces are second to none . Same goes to oxtail , and chicken curry .Will recommend to visit once and taste the authentic Jamaican foods
The jerk chick with rice and peas was so good!
Owners are so welcoming and sweet! Food is top notch must give it a try
The rice and peas (beans, actually) are delicious, however I didnt care for the jerk spice used on both the chicken and the goat. The meat had a granular quality I associate with rather cheap seasoning salt. We had 3 different servings: jerk chicken, regular goat curry, and hot goat curry. The difference between the goat dishes was the hot had so much seasoning salt on it it was unpleasant and the meat had been robbed of its flavour. We have friends who like this place, none of whom are from the Islands. To each their own taste. We will not be back.
I ordered oxtail and rice and peas, curry goat and white rice and side of ital stew and the oxtail Rasta pasta and everything slaps, momma and grandmama. This is by far the best yard food in the gta. Hands down to the chef slash owners
Absolutely some of the best if not the best Jamaican food in the city hands down, they are a new spot so they are still working on the ambiance and decor but the food says it all this will be a great spot!
Good stuff I order bbq chicken really good Food
CHRIS IS THE MAN!!!!
incredible place! awesome warm staff
Great portions, full still in the bone chicken. Some of the best Jamaican food I ve had in a while. Really fresh ingredients. Tastes amazing
Let me tell ya from the moment I stepped in the restaurant I felt the welcoming energy. Bless. But I have to be super honest. THIS IS THE BEST CARRIBEAN FOOD IVE TASTED IN A LONG TIME. LISTEN MY CITY THIS FOOD IS A MUST TO TRY.
For all Jamaicans and authentic Jamaican food lovers, this is BY FAR the best Jamaican food in the city. And I mean Toronto and the GTA. I had the oxtail and no lie it tasted like my grandmother s and my mother s cooking. We need to give this place more business!
Great place and lovely people. Have been a couple of times. The curry goat is excellent and worth the trip alone. Also have enjoyed a delicious oxtail. Both times I got very generous portions and enjoyed some for leftovers the next day. Looking forward to sampling the rest of the menu
This is definitely the best Jamaican restaurant in town. My favorite is the curry goat. Full of flavor and just the right amount of heat. The chef is all about authenticity...love it.
If youve eaten goat curry/white rice for a real Jamaican event, or tasted jerk chicken when you arrive staright off the plane in Montego Bay then youll know that what Chris creates at 9 Mile is the real deal. This food took my senses straight to the countryside in Browns Town, Jamaica. The curry goat is superb, and the jerk flavours are straight to your head. I am always wary of people posting over-exuberant reviews, but I can definitely say that this is the best JA food I have tasted in my time in Toronto. We will be back for more.
Super friendly staff who are very knowledgable about the different types of cuisine they prepare. Prices are fair especially when you consider the great/high quality of the ingredients they use. Fast and caring service. Absolutely delicious food. Great spot for take-out and theyre open very late if youre ever craving a midnight snack. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Nice owners gud food
Great place for Jamaican cuisine! Love their jerk chicken
Great authentic Jamaican food and I love the flavours. The jerk chicken and jerk pork are fantastic and I can t wait to try the rest of the food on the menu.
This used to be Island Hot & Spicy, owned by a husband and wife team. It is now 9 Mile (been open for a month) and the food and service is exceptional. Go for the delicious curry goat and rice and peas. Dont go back to Jerk King. Keep it authentic if you want a taste of Jamaica.
Food is incredible!! At first I was skeptical of going inside, but the owner, Chris, is amazing!! Gave me the run down of what he is doing with the store (1 month old) and he was super friendly! 100% going back and recommend! Ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas with oxtail gravy! Chicken is super tender and flavourful, really nice kick to the spice. Rice was super fluffy, coleslaw was a really nice complement to the meal!
A friend had this restaurant cater an event. The food was so good I had to ask where it was from. Amongst the food was jerk chicken skewers that were perfectly seasoned and grilled. It s also a family owned restaurant.
Fresh food prepared to order. Heaping portions and friendly staff.
The owners are amazing and kind and the food is amazing living in Toronto this is what you call real Jamaican food don t hesitate to try them out you won t be disappointed. :)
Tried this place today for the first time and its amazing, the food is super tasty but what makes this place really awesome is the service. Thanks Danielo and Chris.
Just had the jerk chicken and it was amazing! Best I ve ever had! Chris and Daniel were also super friendly. Will definitely be coming back!
Best place ever! Excellent customer service, friendly staff. Prices cant be beat. Great portion size! Highly Recommend
Friendly staff, incredible portions, wildly flavorful and for a good price!
Food was absolutely stellar, owners were exceptionally kind and friendly, would recommend to anybody.
The best seasoning I have ever tasted
The oxtail with rice and peas was deliciously seasoned and very generously portioned. The flavourful jerk chicken on bed of mixed veggies was very kindly and perfectly cooked to order when I mentioned needing that dish to be suitable for a diabetic (low carb/starch) dietary requirement. We really enjoyed both our meals and will definitely be coming back regularly. Dietary restrictions: Mixed steamed veggies were subbed for rice and peas for a diabetic dietary restriction
It was our first time trying food from here and we were extremely pleased!!! The food is so fresh, delicious, soo flavorful! I only got to take a picture of my bbq chicken because my bf was already devouring his jerk chicken plate lol! We haven t had food like this in a long time, thank you so much!!
Amazing food and large portion sizes. I will 100% be back!
Real & authentic Jamaican food cooked by a jamaican. Great taste. Great service.
Best Jamaican food I ve had in years! Jerk chicken was delicious, traditional scotch bonnet flavour. Oxtail stew was fall-of-the-bone tender. Looking forward to coming back. I wish I took a picture of the food - I couldn t help but dive in immediately. Family restaurant - very hospitable people.
Their service and food are exceptional! The Jerk chicken and chicken corn soup truly capture the essence of authentic Jamaican cuisine. Definitely a local gem !
Great authentic jerk chicken with one of the tastiest oxtail gravies Ive had in the city ! 10/10 !!
Wow Finally a real Jamaican food around the neighborhood. Had a chance to talk to the owners very nice couple. Was told that they won award at jerk feast and I believe it because the curry goat was FIRE!!!!. I will definitely be back to try everything. Welcome the the neighborhood guys
Got he jerk chicken with rice and peas, good size portion for the price, perfect amount of spice. Patty was good as well.
My first order from this new neighbourhood spot was the curry goat and it didnt disappoint. Very flavourful and fall off the bone. Welcome to the hood! Ill be back!
No restaurant opened a couple of weeks ago. Delicious jerk chicken. Spicy but just enough so you feel the heat but still taste all the flavor. Its open until 2am so you now have a good food option in the are for late eats.
Ambiance was great.
Best food I have had in a long time. The flavor combinations are unmatched. Lets give this new business the boost it deserves. Vegetarian options: Fried cauliflower was excellent
The food, the customer service and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really great.. and did I mentioned the food great Jamaican cuisine I would live right next door the restaurant just to get easy access to the food, this place has found another regular customer compliments to the chef
Best in and around town
Stumbled onto this place close to my old neighborhood. Good food made by young entrepreneur...Definitely worth the support!
Very good food, and fairly priced. The curry goat is the best Ive had in Toronto, and the portion is generous. The jerk chickens got a nice little kick to it in terms of spiciness. It tastes authentic. You can definitely tell that the chef enjoys making food, which makes all the difference as far as successful cuisines go. One hundred percent recommended.
Authentic Jerk Chicken, would give it 10/10 for the food!
This place is my new go to! I love the Curry Goat!
This is the real deal - the food is the definition of an authentic Jamaican cuisine the best thing is that it s made with love and you can taste it to the bone. Y all come out taste it for your self :) dem worth it
New Jamaican food spot that opened on Bloor and Lansdowne. Very authentic tasting food, we got jerk chicken, and cornbread. Top notch, super fresh ingredients. Definitely a bit spicy, but in a good way. Finally a decent Jamaican spot in the area.
Food is amazing and so are the people! Had the Codfish Fritters and the Jerk Chicken, both were fresh and so so good, with huge portions (forgot to take a pic of the Jerk chicken :) ) Very excited to go back and try literally everything!
Finally able to stop into this restaurant and so glad we did. We ordered both the goat and oxtail...delicious but the goat was definitely my favourite. Good quantity for the price, had a decent variety on menu. Clean but still under some construction and owner was very pleasant. Would recommend treating your tastebuds here !
My lunch place happens to be the caterer for Patel Brown reception tonight Good stuff. Newly opened Food
