Good breakfast. 2 paratha and omelette for $5+ with hot chai.

I had the Chicken Briyani, the Chicken Kothu Roti, and the Burfi here. All were fairly nice, with my favorite main being the Kothu Roti. For that Kothu Roti, it had pretty good spice to it, and tastes pretty comforting. It is fairly dry, almost like ours a bit old or so. Ill be fair and say that I havent eaten Kothu Roti much before, so I dont have a good comparison point. But other than the sense that it was maybe a bit old/dry (helped, though, by the good sauces they give), I liked it, and would try something like it again. The Briyani is good, if you like something with bone-in Chicken pieces in it, though I felt it was even drier than the Kothu Roti. The burfi was the dessert I got, and I liked it quite a bit. It was pretty creamy (I think thats the best way I can describe the taste), and works particularly well after a spicy dish here. Everything here was decently cheap for the amount you get; the Kothu Roti is $12 CAS, but you effectively get 2 peoples worth of food, in my view. Overall, its a decent place to check out, and Id be interested in trying more items another time (they seem to have a lot).

We accidentally ended up with Babu restaurant on my recent trip to Toronto, and I was stunned with the quality food they provide at such a competitive price. We ordered 4 combos, which was enough for 10 people. Another thing to mention is the service. They will ensure we get the best from there and its value for money. Vishal, the person at counter, surprised me with his customer centric approach. Will be back again on my next trip. Would recommend for anyone looking for South Asian cuisine.

I only buy the vegan options from here. Kothu and Samosas. I think the food is yummy but the cleanliness is questionable. I still go but most recent time I went, it was worse. Perhaps they need renovation and air conditioning. It was hot and a lot of very sweaty employees.

I drove all the way from Caledon literally a one hour drive to get food here. 30 minutes before arriving I called and asked if they had lamp rice and the lady said yes but they didnt have sprats. Then 10 minutes before arriving I called again to confirm and a male answered. He said they did not have some items but they had majority of the items for the lamp rice. After arriving the lady who is the manager i think was so arrogant and rude and said they dont make lamp rice after 10pm. She also said that all the veggie curries are finished. But I saw the curries on display and called her out. And for that she said the curries are spoiled after 10pm. Why would a restaurant have spoiled curries on display? And why would you lie and make customers drive all the way down? On top of that the employees were speaking rudely. Completely disgusting.

Their breakfast combos and small bites are a good bang for the buck.

Need to improve service and quality of food. Need more Hygeine codes to follow.

Senthooran behind the counter is extremely polite, courteous and helpful and since this was our first time, he answered all our questions without showing any haste. Thanks a lot Senthooran for your service and this is a great place to savour the authentic flavours.

I had an incredible takeout experience at this restaurant! Unsure of what to order at first, I was fortunate to be assisted by Tanmeet kaur, the attentive and knowledgeable server, who guided me through their most popular dishes. I decided to try the lamb biryani, which was bursting with flavor, and the idli sambar, which was absolutely delicious. To top it all off, their coffee was a perfect finish rich, smooth, and simply amazing. I can t wait to return for another memorable meal!

Updated for 2024, still going strong. Good food at a good price. Despite the long queue of customers, they have enough people to process the orders as soon as possible. However it may be difficult to get parking in the plaza at times.

The chicken roti was really good. The roti was nicely cooked with a crispy exterior and soft inside. The chicken filling was tasty and well-seasoned. The portion size was generous, and the dish was satisfying overall. Adding a bit more seasoning or a side of chutney could make it even better.

On one instance we got Thali which was literally rotten. The rice and the vegetables were stale. Recently, we got samosa mutton - it was literally filled with dough and no masala filling in it.

Pls dont buy biriyani here. Bought Ambur biriyani just now, I have had Ambur biriyani before, actually the place is near Chennai, India. These guys call it Ambur biriyani but tastes like masala rice with mutton. Yuck. Pls go to silver spoon, opposite to babbus instead. They know how to cook biriyani, wanted a change but regretting. Babbus is good for srilankan side dishes and snacks... If you still want to buy masala rice pls go ahead.

We got takeout. The place was very hot. Not comfortable for clients or staff. The food has deteriorated from what we had 4 yrs back. All 65 items tasted the same- chewy, dry and tasteless. Tandoori was extremely dry. Only the service was reasonably well. This place is a NO for us next time.

Unorganized and old food, i was in line waiting to order another cashier comes out to help and takes an order from a guy from the bqck of line just coz he is also indian, ignores the other non indians who are infront of the last guy including myself. When I finally did get my food it was so old it tasted rotten. Will never buy from here again. Disgusting

Tasty food good potion and worth for the cash spent

We ordered 3 cream buns and all of them were non-edible. The cream bun was yellow and oil was dripping out of it. We asked if the cream buns were fresh, the worker said it was. We also ordered mutton rolls but it was old. My brother and his family from London thought that your restaurant was good. Very big disappointment. Was expecting better from you Babu Takeout and Catering. Dont reccomend this.

Best place to buy take-out food in Scarborough. Ive tried pleanty of such places but this is the best. They have special food each day which is available at so cheap price. My favourite is their breakfast combo which only cost about 6 dollar for everything including tea.

Always the most economical choice. Food is a little above average. Last time I visited was in the morning around 7 am got the masala tea and Mutton and fish buns. Tea as always was superb and if you can handle the spice, the buns are amazing.

Tremendous food with a cheapest rate in Toronto for south indian food. Delicious taste and adequate quantity. I recommend to try their idli breakfast which is around 5$ and consists of 4 idli 2 mendu wada, sambhar, coconuts chutney and coffee. Really incomparable and its open as early as 6:00 am.

If you have dentist appointment, cancel it. Eat paruppu vada from Babu catering and you dont need dentist lifelong. Humble suggestion to Babu, please change the name to Kallu Vada instead of parupu vada

Poor quality. The manager is absolutely rude and changes prices all the time. Owner quotes the price according to what is listed on the menu but the manager makes up his own. He yells, laughs and looks down upon paying customers. Very unprofessional. On top of that, the front staff is absolutely clueless and lack common sense. Food is unnecessarily spicy and tasteless. I know srilankan/eelam spice this is not it.

OG Kothu spot. Was surprised to see a Kothu special on Mondays. I believe it was $5.45 for mutton or chicken kothu roti...do note that its not the silver tins, its a white styrofoam container thats a bit smaller.
