Housed in a historical building, Bangkok Garden introduced Thai cuisine and culture to Toronto over 35 years ago and was awarded the Thai Select Premium designation from the Thai Consulate – recognizing the authenticity of the food and outstanding service. Acclaimed as one of North America’s premier Thai restaurants, Bangkok Garden serves authentic, Thai food based on the Thai principle of balancing the five tastes. In addition, our cuisine caters to many dietary restrictions. From spicy stir- fries, to fresh rolls and curries, there are several gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options to suit all. Couples packages with Dinner and Spa services are also available with our sister spa, Elmwood Spa.
I loved my steak. The flame-grilled flavor was great. The meat was a bit chewy in some parts, but mostly tender. The curry chicken was a bit salty for my taste. I had crème brûlée for dessert. I think it was coconut-flavored. It was okay. They really put a lot of effort into the interior. It had a really nice vibe, like I was in a place other than Toronto.
Really enjoyed the lunch buffet (weekday unlimited tasting menu). I thought they had a good selection of food, including made to order noodle soup! Our favourite items were the Chicken Phad See Eew, Chicken Yellow Curry, and the noodle soup (you have a choice of chicken or vegetable broth). They also had a selection of vegetable dishes, fried items, phad thai, and a bean salad. The restaurant also has an à la carte menu. I felt like the food taste wasn't sacrificed despite being buffet style. For dessert, there were a few small items and fruit. I loved the baked cassava cake, it had a mochi-like texture and wasn't too sweet! For $24, I felt like it was a great price and you get a variety of Thai dishes to try. Service was attentive to take away finished plates and refill water. The washrooms are shared with a nearby spa in the lower levels, but they're well-maintained. When you enter off Elm, however, there isn't always a staff member to greet you and it may take a few minutes to be seated. Would still recommend!
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The food itself was amazing. I hadn't been there in several years, but I’m happy to see that it is still going strong. I highly recommend visiting this place. My favorite dishes to order are the Grilled Seafood Satay and, for dessert, the Banana Fritter Ice Cream.
It feels like the chef and team genuinely enjoy cooking; the food is fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I'm not usually a fan of curry, but the curry here has an elegant touch with a distinct aroma and flavor. The noodle soup was fantastic; even without adding much spice, it was rich and flavorful, like a comforting hug in a bowl. I've visited this restaurant before and tried different dishes, and I'm consistently impressed by the quality and taste. This time, I tried the buffet, and it was really good. The service was exceptional, attentive, patient, efficient, kind, and warm. The staff genuinely care about their customers. The restaurant quickly got busy, and you could see the happy expressions on everyone’s faces as they enjoyed their meals. The cozy and welcoming energy, along with the thoughtful design and decoration, made me not want to leave 😊 G.
Great place to eat your fill and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. The buffet food was split up between vegetarian and meat flavourful and curry on the sides too. Very easy to mix and match up whatever you decide. Loved the service as well.
This location is pretty central in Downtown Toronto. The building is history and ample space with 2 levels of seating. Very suitable for large parties as we saw several large corporate party of 10 and families. The menu is extensive with traditional Thai food and some fusion dishes. Curry options including green, yellow and red with various protein options chicken, beef etc. It's family style eating and the portions are perfect for 2 to 3 people. We ordered 3 dishes and rice bowl (which is extra $2 - 3) and we had left overs. Prices are very reasonable for downtown Toronto. Service was a little slow even with a reservation due to the popularity of the restaurant and they had several big parties of patrons. They were attentive and tried very hard to get people moving to seat those waiting. Overall a really great Thai food destination.
Went for the lunch buffet. It's not a large selection but a good amount of food. Most importantly, all dishes were tasty. Soup noodle bar is a nice to have as well. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will happily eat here again.
This place used to have the best pad thai in the city. They seem to have recently changed the recipe and now it tastes overly sweet and salty, not even remotely close to the old taste. The curries here are still great and the staff are among the most accommodating I’ve seen. They treat you like family. The atmosphere is fantastic too. So peaceful and luxurious looking. I would definitely go here for a date night and order the Seafood Satay, Tamarind Curry, Emerald Curry and Coconut rice. My only real qualm is that the portions are small for the price. When this place had the best pad thai in the city I could ignore it but now I would give it a 4/5 overall.
Good flavour but the basil stir fry had mostly onions, which was disappointing..
Amazing service...the staff were very welcoming and kind, especially my server Kala who recommended a delicious meal for me that matched perfectly with my appetizer. The food was fresh and delicious, with a perfect amount of spice. The atmosphere was wonderful and made for a great experience. I will definitely come back here again!
The most overpriced tom yum soup. They charged me 40 dollars . and it does not taste authentic at all. Very disappointing.
Had an issue with my visit here, brought it up to the restaurant through 2 official channels of communication, no reply for a week. Finally got a response after posting a review here.
Dinner with friend, food isnt super worse, but slightly overrated, thai milk tea is too sweet and I feel like drink syrup milk water.
Tried the unlimited tasting menu, which is essentially buffet style where you go and get your own plate. The food was not great at all. I liked the noodle soup bar, however the chef put the lid for the soup on the floor!! She put the lid back from the floor onto the pot. This chef also disappeared several times during the lunch hour so my friend didn t get try any of the noodle soup. They give very little of the noodle soup, I suspect on purpose to save money so you can t eat as much and defeats the purpose of unlimited tasting They don t even bother showing you to your table when you arrive. They just ask you to go into the dining area to look for whoever you re meeting. Lunch was supposed to be until 2:30 but they closed up the dining area at 2 pm.
Thank you very much I visited it again yesterday, Food : 3/5 |
Every dish was absolutely fantastic!
This restaurant is a hidden gem, thanks Kala for making our evening extra special with your outstanding customer service
Placed an UberEats pickup order, with 2 curry dishes and a Tom Yup soup. They did a shitty job of packaging the items. The paper cup holding the soup didnt have any siran wrap, same for the Curry bowl We had issues with them before of the packaging leaking, while I was walking home. So I came prepared with my old bag. Unfortunately, when I got home and lift the Bangkok Gardens paper bag from my bag, the soup and currvy had already leaked through the paperbag. This caused the food to spill all over the bag and floor. BG needs to figure a way to properly package their take out food, especially their hot items like soups and curry, otherwise, they shouldnt offer take out.
Food was amazing, fresh, served fast. definitely recommended
Food is amazing as usual. I was being rushed to get food since they were going to close soon, which was ok since I arrived late due to a TTC delay. The server brought out spring rolls from the kitchen to another table across from me. It would have been nice if I was offered the same. The soup lady is so pleasant, please tip her extra
I have a BUSY 3.5 year old son. I dread taking him to eat out because I know we re not the idea customers! We re messy, sometimes loud, and often trying to do anything but sit at the table. The safe was SO kind and just made the experience for us so pleasurable! They put up specifically near the fish pond, so when my son started to wander, that s exactly where he went and stayed. They had plastic kids dishes, and were just very attentive throughout the whole meal. We were recommended the satay for my son and it was hit, along with a small plate of oranges. My husband and I absolutely loved our meals!
The food and atmosphere is terrific but what really puts the cherry on top is how phenominal the service is. They make you feel like home and are very sweet. Kala went above and beyond to make our visit a unforgettable one.
Best food and service by all staff, especially Kala, who made my boyfriend and I feel special during his 30th birthday celebration
Great food!
Nice food Nice place Highly recommend
Very delicious!!
Best Thai food in Toronto!!!
Food is so good and has very generous servings! Place and atmosphere is very nice as well. We had a huge group and they were able to accommodate us last minute! Kala who serve us is very friendly too!
The atmosphere was awesome, the server was also well informed with the menu and actually recommended some of the banger foods. The Pad Thai was actually a game changer. Solid 5/5
The environment is good and the service is good, but the taste is a bit far from the authentic Thai taste. Not a compliment. There are quite a few guests.
5 stars all around! Everyone loved their meal. We shared family style. Our server, Kala was the sweetest, took care of us and made us feel right at home We will go back to try the lunch buffet!
Kala made the best recommendations.
Food quality and recommendations by the staff was beyond 5 stars! Big respect and shout out to Kala, she is a respected veteran in the restaurant and made our dinner beyond words!
Pretty cute restaurant with nice decorations and friendly staff
Wonderful! My first time ever Thai all you can eat buffet. The food was on average but I especially liked the atmosphere and the decoration the restaurant was immersed in.
Incredible restaurant in downtown toronto! The waiters were incredibly friendly and the food was definitely worth the price. 10/10 would come here again
A great Thai restaurant right outside of The Delta Chelsea Elm Street exit. Fine dining with great food and great service. See the Koi in the pond and all of the other decorations that make this place special. There is lots of room with different levels. They even have an outdoor pati
Having happened by chance at the beginning of our Canadian tour, we had to change itinerary to get back there. Excellent food, courteous and attentive service, never excessive, very welcoming and clean environment. Surprisingly favorable quality/price ratio. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options, all tasty, never excessive, on the contrary, balanced.
Delicious food, excellent service
Pretty underwhelming food. No spice to speak of and more expensive than far better places. They even charge for rice with the curries. Overall a mediocre and disappointing experience. Feels like the kind of Thai food youd get in Iowa.
Excellent meal! Friendly wait staff.
Had my husbands 40th Birthday here . We had amazing service , our waitress went above and beyond to make sure everything went well . Food was great and restaurant ambiance was great . Will definitely recommend and come back . Thank you again to our waitress , my apologies for not remembering her name .
Nice service, atmosphere and food.
Excellent lunch buffet with quality food. The owner is super friendly and welcoming, and the service is top-notch.
Went for their weekday lunch buffet. Super deal considering its downtown location. Lots of variety at a price of a burger combo next doors. Only gripe - no Tung Yum Kung soup.
Love the food here - specially pad thai, pina colada and the beef steak pieces
Cozy place. The food was excellent. Good portion of food. Do check the menu though, cause i took the pineapple curry which was delicious but i thought the dish comes with rice but it was not included. So we had to pay for the rice too. They only have wines and homemade ice tea. So dont expect fancy drinks and cocktails.
We went to try the summerlicious menu. The food was very good. I loved the interior. Service was ok they got some of our orders wrong but they fixed it without any problem. I would definitely go back for the Pad Thai.
I recently visited Bangkok Garden on a Monday evening to celebrate a friends birthday with a group of eight. The restaurants dated Southeast Asian decor and inattentive host left a less-than-stellar first impression. However, the ambiance improved as we were seated and offered menus and tap water. Unfortunately, the service remained lackluster throughout the evening. Our servers delayed return to take our order, followed by her blaming our perceived unreadiness, left a sour taste. The lengthy wait for our first course further dampened the mood. The food itself was a mixed bag. The first course received mixed reviews from our group, while the main courses garnered similar reactions. My Seafood Pad Thai fell short of expectations, with chewy calamari and scallop, and an overall average flavor. The shrimp, however, was cooked well. The final course, a cheesecake, tasted like it came straight from a grocery store box. On a positive note, the mens washroom, shared with the well-regarded Elms Spa, was decently clean. Additionally, the price point for the Summerlicious menu felt fair for the items offered. Overall, Bangkok Gardens experience left much to be desired. While the value for money was reasonable, the lackluster service and underwhelming food quality outweighed the positives. I would only consider returning if there were no other Thai options nearby, but it certainly wouldnt be my first choice in the area.
Food was dry. Barely any sauce on the main courses and desserts.
Very nice and cozy place right in downtown toronto. Worth a detour!! Very good food too. Summer menu was spot on! Food
The food is very bland and we got burned sticky rice twice. We also had to hold our utensils til the next course.
Had a great meal at Bangkok Garden tonight. Lots of gluten-free options for my celiac wife. Our server, Kala, gave us some excellent suggestions to improve our order. We left full and satisfied. Lots of seating and a nice atmosphere, good for conversation. Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF options, very tasty
Had a wonderful time at Summerlicious. Would highly recommend. Great tasting food and in good portions. Staff is efficient.
Sorry if this is a late review lol but I felt really taken care of.
So delicious food thanks
The place is really big inside but has seen better days. The atmosphere was a little dated. The mango salad was very good. pad thai was not enough chicken Pineapple fried rice was also good but lacked a little something extra. Would not return
My God. Kala provided great service, so nice. The food was unreal good!!! Defiantly come if back if I ever make it back to Toronto
Great place great food and thanks brian for lovely food and service. Its a must visit place in downtown Toronto.
There s not a lot of food variety to offer here, but a buffet for $24 with about a dozen entrees isn t a bad deal at all. Would recommend trying for lunch if you re in the area. Wonderful, friendly staff.
Kala is the BEST waitress ever! Had such a great time, we love her so much!
Excellent recommendations from our server. She explained how we could pair certain dishes together so we end up full without the heavy feeling. I m glad we listened. I ll be back.
Phad thai was great, 5/5. Overall, food was good but can be improved here and there - tried one of their curries, the beef in the curry was quite tough and dry. Their grilled seafood satay was delicious but overpriced. Thai iced tea had good flavour but was too sweet (perhaps personal preference). Seating and ambiance were fantastic. Beautiful decor, they have a pond with live koi fish. Seating was spacious. Note: Their washroom is very clean, private and spacious. It is a bit of a trek as it is downstairs but very pleasant to use.
Excellent lunch buffet for the price! Well worth it especially with a decadent ambiance. 5 star service. Incredible lunch buffet selections - from soup bar, noodles, meat dishes, fried rice, veggies, dessert. Everything was superbly delicious. Highly recommended and will come back again for sure!
They dont have many options (about 16 including fruits and dessert) for lunch buffet and the food area is not spacious so there was a long line waiting to grab food. Id suggest you come after 12:40pm to avoid waiting in line. Regarding the food, I recommend pineapple fried rice, fried zucchini and egg, Pad Thai, and pineapple jelly. Their steamed fish is a bit salty. Fried chicken and fried eggplant are greasy to us but they are still worth a try. Overall, its a very decent restaurant for Thai food buffet considering the service, food quality, and price.
I had called to order chicken fried rice and arrived to pick up the order and was charged $22 (tax included). It turns out that because I did not mention lunch special, I got charged with regular size (claimed to be more significant portions). So just be aware to say lunch special. Food quality is okay; it is impossible to mess up the fried rice, and it is hard to make excellent fried rice. But their fried rice is OK, average. The portion is big, and I can not finish by myself; the lunch special should be a better size for me.
Foood so good! Lunch buffet was excellent, and good price for quality restaurant food
We come here every year for dinner when were in Toronto for our annual meeting. It never disappoints. Fun atmosphere and delicious food with wonderful service. Try the leeche martini! Great curries and Pad Thai.
Went last week. Honestly some of the most insanely overpriced low quality food I have ever had. Pad see ew was wayyy too salty and wayyy to oily. Small portion for $20. The waiter was sniffling and not washing their hands. Overall, do not go there. The food is not good, and it s hella expensive. Much cheaper and more delicious Thai restaurants around. Wheelchair accessibility: Nope
Can absolutely recommend. Food was super tasty and large portions. The service was great. Waitress Kala in particular was super friendly and talked to us for a long time and told stories. It was a really nice evening with very tasty food. Vegetarian options: Good selection. Dietary restrictions: When we ordered the food, we were asked again whether we had intolerances to any foods. That was very thoughtful.
Beautiful restaurant I fell in love with it the moment I started walking up the stairs. So gorgeous. The good was amazing and so was the service. It was very busy but exceptional service and delicious food. So much to choose from and lots of options available. I really enjoyed dining here. I would highly recommend this as a date night, going with friends or even a night on the town alone. Perfect spot.
We were a group of 5 people. We all liked this establishment, it was cozy, good service was provided by Kel from Thailand (an adult woman), everything was delicious, and the portions were large, so we took the food with us. I recommend! Kid-friendliness: The waitress was constantly joking with us and with the baby. It was interesting for the child to look at the living aquarium in the form of a river, very atmospheric.
Beautiful restaurant - the atmosphere is stylish and comfortable. Food is nicely presented and very tasty. Although not on their current website menu, the in-house menu had a few more choices, so I enjoyed the Emerald Curry (green curry) with small rice noodles and shrimp. Lovely flavour and very mild. Service was polite, attentive and efficient.
Our 3rd time there from out out town. The food is INCREDIBLE, every time. The service is fantastic as well. Dietary restrictions: 2 people with us have peanut allergies, their food came first, and then just a few minutes later, the other 4 meals arrived.
Had the recommended Thai new year set menu and it was superb, tried every dish and it meant we tried different and really authentic dishes. So good. Dietary restrictions: GF options
Service is good, place looks beautiful and the food is okay. Nothing really special but definitely wont disappoint you either.
So Thai ..
Having a great dinner here at the moment. The service has been exceptional and the food delicious. Especially after a day at the Elmwood Spa.
small portions - pad Thai noodles were good though the chicken was very dry. Servers will try to push additional orders
Kala was a great server, thank God for going with her suggestions. We enjoyed the authentic Thai cuisine. Path Thai was to die for!! Words cannot comprehend how amazing our experiences were. We are for sure coming again! One suggestion would be to increase their portion size of food given how expensive they are.
Great lunch buffet. Very fair price for what you get. Excellent service. Our servers name was Kara and she was just the right amount of attentive. The service she provided is the type of service I would love to receive everywhere. Highlights of the buffet: noodle bar (fresh soup to order), red curry, yellow curry, glass noodles, spring rolls, veggie pad thai.
Such a great restaurant! Clean and friendly atmosphere. So glad we went with the servers suggestions, the food was delicious.
Kunthira!!! Kunthira!!! Kunthira!!! What a shining example of what every person working in the service industry should strive for! If you follow me you know how often i dine and I recognize talent. Worth the trip for authentic Thai food, including the Siracha (which we are told comes from the island of Siracha part of Thailand!! ) We had the terrific chicken skews and thai spring rolls, both excellent. I had to dive into the Pad Thai and it was literally the best I have had, well executed use of the Hoisin sauce. I prefer mine with lots and this was built right in. If you prefer less sweet more heat, make sure you ask! Finished with my fav sticky rice, but instead of the regular mango, they subbed in lychee, which was super fresh and just enough sweetness. Make the trip, unassuming from the outside, such a well run spot for authentic Thai at great prices.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Kala is amazing people servings us and takes pictures for us too.
We ordered chicken wings, pineapple chicken fried rice, pad Thai(chicken), coconut chicken soup and virgin pina colada. Thoroughly enjoyed the food with my friends. The ambience was amazing too
We ordered chicken satay , mango salad and Pad see ew . Chicken satay and mango salad was okey nothing special . Pad see ew was so salty .
The food is really not special and not worth the money, you wouldnt want to pay $30 for 3 frozen grilled shrimp skewers. The worst was the waiters attitude when I asked him what the dessert contained and he didnt understand and raised his voice. The only bright spot for our evening experience was the space of this restaurant. This is the last time I come back here!!!
We had made reservations for 6 pm the day before our visit via a phone call and we received confirmation via text. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation yesterday and asked if they could accommodate us or we wait until our reservation time. They decided to seat us. The restaurant was 90% empty. The host tried to squeeze the 3 of us in a 2 seater at top of stairs despite the restaurant being empty. We requested a proper table for 3 people, she refused and said that the restaurant will get very busy and she wants to keep other tables free. Very strange as the restaurant was mostly empty and we had confirmed reservations. Of course we left. Not recommended.
Kala our server, was the most adorable server ever She made us feel like we were her grandkids and we loved her service was 10/10 food came out quickly and was tasty Would 100% recommended the 3 course meal option
Kala our server deserves a raise!! Although the food was okay, she made our group feel special and it definitely made our night. We even got hugs from her on our way out! Everyone should learn a thing or two from her when it comes to customer service.
The Winterlicious meal options were nice but not extraordinary, however still very delicious and the service was fantastic! Our server Kala must the heart and soul of the restaurant- so friendly, going above and beyond to accommodate food restrictions and allergies, and she made the night special for our friend celebrating a big milestone. Dietary restrictions: Great Gluten free options
Great place by Sundays square , you can try red curry
Place on an historic building, just a few steps off Yonge St, this restaurant is kind of a hidden gem. Staff is very friendly, the food quite authentic the plates are generous, a really nice place to spend even a romantic dinner
Great atmosphere, service was slow. Food was good.
Honestly, I was really hoping to enjoy my visit here, but I didn t. I very regularly visit different Thai food places around Toronto (at least 2-3x per month). I love trying new food. I went in a group of 4 to try Bangkok Garden for Winterlicious. None of us have really heard of the restaurant before, but we wanted to try something new. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but it s a large location with a nice little fish pond. We were hopeful. The food came out quick, but the servers were inattentive. The food, frankly, was awful. We finished our appetizers, but not one person at the table finished our mains or desserts. They claim to be authentic Thai, but we found our food to be incredibly bland and incredibly westernized (the entire Pad Thai reeked of ketchup ) Quite frankly, we immediately took an Uber to a different Thai restaurant in the East End. The price was sort of expensive, especially for the quality of the food. I wouldn t go back and I wouldn t recommend it someone else.
The place looks amazing. But if u are looking for good quality authentic thai food, don t go! There is much better option nearby for thai food. it s shocking how short the menu is.And for a restaurant that s aimed at high end, the service is so mediocre there was hardly any service at all. They also missed orders twice, not sure whether on purpose or not since they didn t hesitate to charge what they didnt send to us.
My recent visit to Bangkok Garden was nothing short of amazing! Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by the beautiful ambiance, reminiscent of a quaint Thai setting. It felt like a mini getaway to the heart of Thailand right in the heart of Toronto. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We decided to try the curry bowls and the Beef wok, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The curry, in particular, stood out to me. It had just the right balance of flavors and was mildly spicy, with a delightful crunch from the crushed cashews. If youre feeling extra hungry, I recommend adding a side of rice to complement the curry perfectly. The Beef wok was also delicious, with tender meat and a delectable sauce that left us wanting more. Overall, Bangkok Garden offers a truly romantic dining experience with exceptional food and service. I cant wait to return for more unforgettable meals!
Nice cozy location . A bit expensive but it was for a special occasion after the spa. Our waitress Kala was amazing. All her recommendations were delicious!! Dietary restrictions: Kala was very attentive that we had someone with a peanut allergy and we didnt want our food too spicy.
Kala made my experience an amazing one, she took the time to suggest the food and the wine. Her service was on point and so was the food. Kala for making my day even more special
I had the best date ever with my boyfriend here! The waitress named Kala was the sweetest and most wholesome person we ve met and she recommended all of the best dishes to us! The flavour, the taste and the atmosphere really made us fall in love with this Thai restaurant! We definitely recommend going here for Thai food!
Went there after attending Elmwood. Our server, Kala, was amazing!! She suggested the dishes in the pics and what wine would pair perfectly, and she did not miss!!!! Ill definitely go back with friends again.
The curry is good but it took some time for the food to come out
Food was okay. One of the waiters was very demanding and didn t give us freedom to order what we want. Not satisfied with service or food.
Good service and location
Gem of a place in downtown Toronto. Hands down best food experience on our Toronto trip. All our dishes were great tasting. Kala was super, and almost runs the place. She knows her customers even you there only once.
The staff are so very kind and attentive but the buffet food was just subpar ):
The food was fantastic but our server was absolutely amazing. She made our night, she was funny but one of the nicest people I ve ever met. Cannot wait to return.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Lunch Buffet - Tasty thai food, where you can get as much as you can keep down?? What a perfect day to be alive, where Ive discovered the joy of bamboo red curry. The amount of choices are decent and the flavour is good! For the price, its good value
Absolutely delicious food, safe for celiacs, great staff and wonderful atmosphere! Ask to be seated by the koi pond if you can! Dietary restrictions: Very good for celiacs and gluten intolerant.
Below average food... very poor service. Have to wait for the server each time we need something. 10 minutes for the cheque. Limited menu. Not authentic.
One of my favorite thai spots in the city. Pad thai and thai iced tea are top notch. Rest isnt bad either. Service can be slow at times but very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere in the back, larger than it looks from outside.
The place is good The food is bland when compared to thai cuisines and the service is really slow so be ready to wait a long time for your food to arrive Food
Unfortunately I didnt take any pictures of the dishes. I went there during the winterlicious, and had a 3 meal course. The chicken pad Thai was good, but nothing special. The mango panna cotta in my opinion was the best. The service was efficient and it was too slow, also there was a lot of gap in between each course. The atmosphere of the place is good.
The food was clean And thank you so much for Kuthira she has good guests relations experience
Super friendly staff and the food was delicious. We had the chicken fried rice, anytime noodle dry (pad sew ew) and the mango pana cotta, YUM!
Great food
very good Thailand food. Need reverse for 6+ people. Their beef and curry are worth to try. Don t forget to order a coconut rice too.
Great deal for lunch buffet!
Went today for lunch with work colleagues. We had the buffet. Everything was delicious as always and there was a great selection of food!
Not good second experience, I had great time here on first occasion. Staff were not attentive to start with. Food wasnt good at all. All chicken used in the dishes were bland and rubbery in structure. Among the other things, staff were a bit pushy on ordering more.
Bad food , not worth $60 for 2 dishes that were quite bad tbh
Great place for some Thai food. They were very helpful in suggesting food to cater to the vegetarians in our group
Food is delicious. But we did have to wait for at least 10 minutes for the waiter to get our bill.
We were at Bangkok Garden recently for dinner. Not as vegetarian friendly as some other Thai restaurants. There were no vegetarian soups available. Spring rolls were veggie and quite tasty. Mango salad was quite good. We had a stir fried eggplant dish that was decent - could have used a bit more zest. The pad Thai was tasty but a bit underwhelming - lacked some flavour. Green curry tofu was very good as was a veggie fried rice. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was quite nice. We would be happy to try it again and maybe mix things up in terms of the dishes we tried.
We got the dinner with the special from Elm spa and the value was good. The spring rolls were great , and the of Thai was amazing. My partner loved the banana fritters and the creme brûlée was smooth! Our server was sweet and we ended the evening with an hug
Lol this is not Thai food. If you are looking for cheap chinese for westerners style buffet you might like it. Worst Tom yum I had in my life
I dont understand why people would leave a negative review. I have personally travelled to Thailand multiple times and love Thai food. This has to be one of the most authentic Thai food spot in downtown Toronto! We devoured the food so quickly I forgot to take photos of them. The rainbow trout and the red curry sauce that comes with it is phenomenal. The food here has the right amount of spice and flavour! (Although the Tom Yum can be more spicy) 10/10 would recommend.
Fantastic ambience food servicr
The most impolite, rude and dismissive service Ive got in town. The food was by far awful: just a random bunch of deep fried stale fish -I believe- with some sour sauce and cilantro, better to not mention how gross the price was!
One of the most underwhelming Thai food in a while. Ordered the pineapple & shrimp fried rice, hoping for a classic dish. Instead, it was a plain fried rice without any of the authentic Thai flavouring. Fried rice was bland and resembled a cheap fried rice with the some ingredients thrown in. Pad thai was OK. For the price of $22 for pad thai and $23 for the fried rice, it was way too overpriced. Service and patio were fine. Overall, food quality is closer to thai express, but twice the price.
The food is just bad. Not authentic at all. Service is terrible. We told the server that someone in our group was allergic to oranges. The dessert still came out with oranges.
One of the most delicious Thai restaurants in downtown Toronto. A must visit. We had the chicken coconut soup, which was nice and creamy with a bit of spice, and some Thai wings and calamari as well which were both perfectly crispy and served with great sauces for dipping like sweet sirracha. We also had the chicken satay and beef anytime noodles wet which were both to die for and the satay was melt in your mouth chicken! However, my favourite part was the dessert, the banana fritters - so good! We will definitely be back for more yummy Thai food from here.
Good service, nice place, good atmosphere and good portions on a Sunday evening... The food is nice but didnt taste much,,, suggestion for the restaurant is a little more chili, lemongrass, and red or green curry....dont know if they just make it mild for tourists,,, but should taste more..
The food and the ambiance are top notch. I would love to visit again. Highly recommend Food : 5/5
Did the all you can eat buffet. Not a lot of options and everything was nearly empty when I went through. Lots of veg options though. But not good separation of veg only tongs versus tongs that touched meat
Ordered: Coconut Vegetable Soup, Satay (Chicken), Sweet and Sour Fish Stir Fry, Chicken Phad Thai and Curry Sauce, Basil Beef Stir Fry, Sweet Tapioca Pearl Lychee Pudding, Banana Fritters with Ice Cream, Thai Milk Tea Coconut Vegetable Soup 4/5 Tasted very authentic, perfectly balanced coconut flavour with the hot and sour taste of Tom Yum. For those that do not like hot or sour flavours, this might be too strong. Satay (Chicken) 4/5 Perfectly cooked with the outside crisp and inside tender. The peanut sauce was very special, with a nice nutty and creamy flavour. Sweet and Sour Fish Stir Fry 5/5 One of the best fried dish I had in Toronto! The batter was perfectly seasoned and fried to the right amount of crispiness. The fried fish went very well with the sweet and sour sauce which was not too empowering. Chicken Phad Thai and Curry Sauce 1/5 The chicken tasted very bad, unable to finish the plate... The noodles and the sauce tasted okay. Basil Beef Stir Fry 2/5 The beef tasted off... The beef was marinated in a sauce that did not go well with the dish. The beef had too strong of a flavour that you could not taste anything else. Sweet Tapioca Pearl Lychee Pudding 3/5 The dessert was warm and would have tasted a lot better if served cold. The tapioca pearl was overcooked, loosing the chewy texture. Banana Fritters with Ice Cream 3/5 The batter was a bit too thick, which overtook the flavour of the banana. The vanilla icecream was good, not too sweet with strong vanilla taste. Thai Milk Tea 4/5 Tasted authentic, perfectly balanced flavour of dairy and tea.
Went for the summerlicious menu! Amazing ambiance, awful acoustics. Literally looks great, sounds awful. Everything sounds louder and you cant even hear who youre with. Servers are nice though! Food: Appetizers: the chicken cucumbers were weird and in tiny portions. The soup was good but way too lemon flavored. Main course: the pad thai and beef tenderloin were delicious! Not the biggest portions but I recommend it! Dessert: the coconut jelly tasted like nothing and was tinier than tiny. The pineapple fritter was good though. Drinks: got Thai ice tea and it was tasty but sweeter than normal. Overall, the main meals are great but wouldnt order anything else. Probably wouldnt go with the regular prices though.
Food quality and taste were good.
Went for summerlicious and had a good deal. The appetizers were interesting, mains were very good, extremely tender and perfectly cooked beef. Dessert was good. I would say the menu items were hit or miss. When we were there there was a large group sitting upstairs and due to the layout of the place I could not hear the person sitting across from me at all. Its a little more of a family friendly than intimate atmosphere. Not entirely certain I would go back but definitely don t regret trying.
Food was tastefully presented, delicious and staff service was warm. For a 25 year old place, they are doing great.
I visited during the Summerlicious 2023. The overall service and food quality was very nice. The restaurant is very spacious, and has an authentic Thai vibe to it! It is a good place for large group or family gatherings. The satay chicken and coconut soup were very savory and fulfilling. The Thai milk tea is a must try, as it only costs $4! I absolutely enjoyed every single dish I tried, except the main dish. The meat in Pad Tai and Basil Beef was not tender and had strong spice. The server was kind enough to offer another entree, so I was completely satisfied!
We came here for the summerlicious menu. I love the decor of this place. Portion sizes matches the price of the meal. Very satisfying meals. My only complain is that the glass noodles and chicken we had was a choking hazard. It was very dry. Great service. Getting to the washroom is a trek but once there its great. It has individual stalls. Without a doubt I would go come here again.
Good food, friendly and attentive staff.
The bill comes with 18% included Tip. WHY? Food
Beautiful Restaurant. Great service , we had the pad Thai and pad see yew. Delish
Went here after a spa day next door and it was wonderful atmosphere and food were stand outs, but our server Kala is what really made this such an amazing experience. She was funny and friendly while still maintaining perfect professionalism. She gave amazing food recommendations, was attentive to our every need, and was obviously passionate about her work. She was the cherry on top of a wonderfully relaxing spa date :) worth adding that I (f) was there with my partner (also f) and she just made us feel so accepted, valued, and welcomed. Thank you Kala!!!
We came here on a whim and initially it looked quite interesting, the food smelled good, the atmosphere was intruiging - all the signs pointed to a good time! However, once we got our food... it was absolutely bland... I have never had such bland vegetarian food from a restaurant, it seemed like there was no seasoning - just veggies. Luckily the service provided chili sauce when asked and it saved the dinner. If youre looking for somewhere to try some authentic cuisine, I would not reccommend coming here at all Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are extremely underwhelming
Exceptional service! The staff was incredibly friendly and our servers recommendations were spot on. The food is standard fare, nothing outstanding, but its presented nicely and the portions are perfectly sized. The dining area is comfy with spaced out tables for privacy and a relaxing meal.
Delicious Thai food! Sweet lady served us.
I won t come back. I have been here for many times, not the first time the services made me and my friends disappointed. The waitress collected our food before we finished, kept asking if we were finished which obviously was not and so on. These things made us uncomfortable, seems like we have to finish everything as soon as possible and leave. We had 6 people, she told us 18% tips was compulsory and put it on the bill, even we didn t wanna give that 18% tips. Her service doesn t deserve that AT ALL. The restaurant didn t mention that on menu or told us before we order food which is totally unacceptable. I somehow doubt this 18% tips rule because I never had this experience in this restaurant. My frds are nice, we still paid that 18% tips. One more little thing, some of my friends ordered drinks some didn t. This wasn t about the money, I do think a 18% tips service should not just equally spilt our bill in 8.
1) The chicken fried rice was just BLABD . Not tasty at all . Portion size was good but it was not tasty . 2) Glass noodles was okay . Portion size was good . 3) The calamari portion was the smallest portion I ve ever got in Toronto
Kala the best waitress I have ever met. Superb recommendations and was wonderful to chat with.
Nice place, ok service but Food Horrible. Wish I could give less than 1 star to Food. Food
Super tasty restaurant with romantic atmosphere and great service!
THE WORSE THAI FOOD I EVER TRIED. I ordered Red Curry, Tom Yum Soup, and Wings. All tasted SUPERRRRRR Awful. No texture flavor, no umami. only tasted blend spicy. Told the server and she argued the chef was there for 40yrs. 40yrs of experience and still don t know how to cook The only nice thing was the cant breath decor.
Gotta go there! Not only really tasty but also a really nice owner! She helped us choose what we should eat because it was our first time eating Thai. Friendly, fast and delicious!
We had a great time, as delicious as in Thailand, with very friendly waiters who gave us good advice. I recommend!
Aroi mak krub. The food tastes good and nice service. Ill go back again definitely.
The restaurant was nice, food was good and service was excellent. They anticipated our wants, made relevant recommendations and were very good with our family. Everything was also timed just right. Thank you and hope to see you again.
Amazing place
My experience: attached to the Elmwood spa it was a nice atmosphere to come into. The food was very well priced and super fresh and delicious. The portion sizes are big so it was easy to share with the four of us. Great vegetarian options and the Thai iced tea is so good. Tried the mango salad, pad Thai, green curry and mixed vegetables with Thai iced tea and the creme brulee and banana fritter with ice cream for dessert... everything was really good. Great presentation and great service. Very personable and kind individuals. Atmosphere and price: very calm, beautiful atmosphere, nicely decorated and they have a fish pond that is so nice. Loved all of it. Nice wooden designs and Thai inspired decor. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Salads, pad Thai, currys
Very nice Thai restaurant on a lovely street in downtown Toronto. Service is attentive with appropriate checkin during and after the meal. Food is very tasty and well presented. Portions are generous. Clean and nicely decorated in a Thai motif.
We had the Mothers Day lunch buffet. All the items were fresh, tasty and healthy Amazing soup station as well. Nice staff and fabulous management. Thank you so much Bangkok Garden made our day. Highly recommend this Thai restaurant
Kala was our server and she was amazing!!! Most fun I ve ever had at a restaurant! Food was also amazing! Love you Kala
The peanuts sauce with chips is amazing
A lot of corporate events taking place. The atmosphere is good but rawdy. For a Thai food enthusiast, food was ok, typical.
Came here for lunch and it was great! Keep some room for the little kosava and coconut flan!
Kala made our anniversary super special. Thank you for a memorable service and experience
$24 is a good deal on weekdays.
What a wonderful experience. We were visiting Toronto staying at the Chelsea Hotel and we stumbled across this gem. The food was fantastic, the prices were even better. The service was hands down supreme and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
Omg! I came here for my birthday it was apart of my package and wow! I had an amazing time the food was great, fresh, and very tasty. I had an amazing server by the name of Kala who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. She had all the answers to my questions and made me feel at home and extra special on my birthday. I definitely will return here in the future!
The food was very bland. Portions were pretty small. You could do better at the food court.
We visited Toronto with family for my mom s 70th birthday. We were immediately greeted by the wonderful staff. The restaurant was absolutely stunning and the service was unparalleled. Kala our waitress was so helpful and made us feel like family. Her recommendations were spot on. The food was just delicious! The best Thai food I have ever had in a long time. They even brought my mom a dessert and sang her happy birthday. What a perfect way to end our stay in Toronto! Thank you, Kala!! Thank you all at Bangkok Garden for a great experience! Dietary restrictions: We had a guest with gluten allergies and they were very accommodating.
Kala our server made wonderful suggestions for our meal and wow everything was delicious !! Will definitely be back. Kala made our evening out very special !!
Excellent. Everything was perfect
Great place if you are looking for Thai food. The interior design is better than 95% of the restaurant within the same price range. The place was super clean. Food was delicious, with lots of variety. Ordered the chicken pad Thai and chicken stir fry. great quality and quantity and we finished them all. Service was good too. Will be back again!
We had a lovely peaceful dinner in this beautifully decorated and elegant place. The small water decorations with live fishes and the beautiful animal sculptures gave to the environment an aura of tranquility you rarely find in other places. Food was awesome, really good Thai flavors, and special mention to the mango panna cotta dessert, the service was also very kind. We re going to be back for sure!
Today was my first time in this restaurant. I will be here again. Excellent experience
Food was amazing, charming atmosphere, very kind and attentive staff. The pineapple curry and coconut rice (important!) was divine!
Great food! Good for groups
Good n nice restaurant n it is a very authentic Thailand food. Nice n good selection of Thai food but a bit of pricey. No free parking but matter parking on both side roads. Food : 5/5
We went for the lunchtime buffet. There was lots of food and plenty of choices. Everything we tried was delicious. I love the peaceful atmosphere with the fish pond and the sound of the little waterfall. In addition, I think this was the cleanest restaurant Ive ever been in. Spotless. I know where we hope to eat the next time were back in Toronto.
Not bad but theres better Thai places in Toronto
not sure where the award winning was about certainly was not the food or the service
Amazing food and service, was certainly worth the trip ^_^
Vegetarian options: Food made me sick. Have been throwing up three times since eating there. I think the fish was not fully cooked there, need t ok be more careful about how they cook food. Food doesn t taste great. Very very below average Thai food. Service was ok. Not great. Food
Its been a while since Ive had Thai, so this was a nice treat. All of the dishes were very tasty, along with choosing from 3 rice side dish. We were a dinner for 4, and 3 dishes was just the tight amount of food. Had the chicken skewer as an appetizer (comes with 4 skewers). The desserts were just the right portion. I had the Mango Creme Brule which was a great way to end the meal. I will go back again when in Toronto. Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of vegetarian options. Really cant go wrong.
We were staying at the Chelsea and wanted dinner nearby. The food was so good. The waitress was very nice and explained the dishes to us before we ordered. Would definitely return on our next visit.
