412 Spadina Ave., Toronto, ON M5T 2G7, Canada
Casual restaurant serving up a menu of traditional Thai dishes, from curries to stir fries.
I have discovered this family run resturant by chance in 2018 late night when they were one of the few resturants open at 9pm. Fast forward to now in 2024 I make sure to drop by for lunch or dinner whenever I am in the area & have brought many friends & family to this place. I had their lunch special chicken phad thai today for a quick lunch & the food was fresh & service was quick & friendly. This is a great down to earth place for good thai food.
Atmosphere of the place felt like I was transported right back to Thailand! Portions look small, but are very filling- and the spice levels were just right
delicious and amazing food. we got the pad see ew and shared one thai iced tea and both were excellent. this is a new go to. and it was $24 for two people to eat so pretty good price.
Third visit this summer here. The flavours are sooo good. Every dish was seasoned perfectly. The mango salad was well balanced, the pad si ew went down so easy, and the fried rice was light and delicious. Only issue this visit was the rice was a little dry. Server was very kind, and the ambience here at night is impeccable. Bladed fans running, dim lights, cultural decor, and Thai pop (which plays like decade old Kpop). Truly takes u away from Toronto.
Great place, very nice atmosphere, super friendly staff. We ordered beef noodle soup, highly recommend it. The flavor is very rich and meat is delicious.
Great flavour, reasonable portion size for the price, friendly staff with smiles and knowledge about the menu. Eavesdropped on neighboring table who was demanding changes to their dishes and drinks and staff was patient and catered to most of their requests. Only downside was that their washroom was on basement and not accessible.
This is a nice homely Thai restaurant. We ordered: 1. Spicy noodles with veggies and Tofu: Simply amazing. It wasn’t too spicy. As good as it gets. 2. Rhad Nha noodles with crispy egg noodles and chicken: It was very good. It took sometime for crispy noodles to get soft. But the gravy was really good. 3. Rhad Nha noodles with broad rice noodles and chicken: Very good. Tasty but I find broad rice noodles bit difficult to eat. On weekends, they serve some special items like Khao Soi. One dish is enough for one person. Earlier they used to serve rhad Nha noodles in bowl with lot of gravy sauce which I liked more. Overall, decent Thai restaurant with reasonable prices.
A lovely restaurant serving delicious Thai food at prices far more reasonable than so many others in Toronto. Dining interior appears somewhat dated, but it's nevertheless full of charm! Food was also spicy and supremely delicious! Definitely, worth a return visit!
Really cute spot with excellent food. Loved the green curry and pad si-eiw!
My favourite thai spot in all of GTA/Durham! Amazing service and incredible food! Best pad thai ever!
9/10 Fried rice with 10/10 wok hei
Delicious meal, very charming lady!
The food was very good! The lady was very nice!
amazing food and service! the pad thai was excellent and the lady that was serving was really sweet and helpful. 10/10
Amazing and yummy Thai Food!
Really good pad thai and even better server!
Love their curry chicken and pad thai
We waited almost an hour to get any food. There was a big group that was there at the restaurant, but I expect for service to help balance needs between customer groups. I specifically asked for no coriander, and my dish came with chopped up coriander distributed throughout the dish. Nonetheless, the dish itself tasted like authentic Laap.
The food is good but not as updated with the renovations. Their menu is more authentic than the one Yeah Yeah Thai. So it depends what you like to eat and want to eat that day. It tastes very good compared to one on Yonge Street. But I still prefer the Queen location.
Great food at a great price.
Food was so good, we had the green curry and the pad see ew. The vibe of the place was also distinctly south-east asian, definitely authentic.
Mango sticky rice proportion was very small, barely any mango. The rice was dry as well.
My best friend and I were craving mango sticky rice so we came here. We paid $12 for an extremely small portion that we should ve paid half the price for. There was maybe 8 small cubes of mango accompanying the driest bunch of rice. It was really disappointing to not only spend an arm and a leg on mango sticky rice that we have been waiting for, and have heard good reviews from the place, very disappointed. I cant say I know much about their dinner menu, but definitely do not get the mango sticky rice :/
Authentic thai
Overall a very good place to get some delicious Thai food. My friends and I went on a whim as we were on our way to Kensington and everyone rated their dishes 8-9/10. Portions were just enough to keep satisfy.
As a person who lived in Thailand for a few years, I want to commend this restaurant. Great food, authentic atmosphere, friendly staff!
The food is amazing and the restaurant smells clean. The waiter and waitress were polite and friendly.
Food was always on point, well seasoned, nice service.
Lovely food.. well prepared, fresh and flavoursome.
Great food with excellent service! The red curry is really good Highly recommended
Pad Thai is my favourite dish. I make it a point to try it everywhere I travel. The Tofu+Veg Pad Thai I had at this location was delicious. I have paid a premium in many other places for the same quality, sometimes up to 40% more than what they charge here. What s crazy is it s a tad more expensive than a Thai Express Pad Thai which is incredible value. The restaurant is a bit on the older side, but it s neat and tidy. Staff were friendly and kind. They even brought out a small fried sweet snack at the end of the night. I plan to visit this place whenever I m downtown. I d gladly support small businesses like these.
I loved the food here. Very cute ambience
well served. My dish, a little strong
Very nice experience at this restaurant and it has a convenient location as well.
Yummy :) amazing prices and fantastic staff. Love the atmosphere here.
This is the best restaurant in Toronto. I wish I could give 6 stars for service. This restaurant is quite literally the only reason you should ever set foot in this city. Every single thing in this menu is perfect.
my experience eating here with my friends is really one if the best. good and tasty food, kudos to chef! very cheap and portions of food is really nice. and the servers are really nice, always happy and smiling.
Amazing food and experience. Vegetarian options: Many options for vegetarian Food : 5/5 |
Overall good experience. Great veg thai food.. Must try !!!
The food and portions are excellent. Very rich!!
Cozy atmosphere, tasty food! Polite and friendly service! Food
Excellent foods
Hole in the wall with delicious red and green curries. Curry puffs were amazing.
I had their Pad Thai and Pad Kee Maw, and they were amazing. So I came back to try their pad see ew, very good too! Can t go wrong with any of these!
good food
Surprised by the portion of the pad thai! In other restaurants, such portion can make two dishes. Also very delicious!
Our second visit.. My wife and I both enjoyed our meals each visit. Great service. My wife was able to find a selection of mild options.. and I went for the spicier options. Enjoyed dinner and will definitely be back.
Staff are good and polite. Food was tasty, portions are big.
Its pretty rare that a Thai restaurant in Canada serves fresh sticky rice. I had the pork (Moo yong) and sticky rice, which was delicious. It came served in a bamboo steaming basket with authentic dipping sauces.
Best pat thai Ive had in Toronto for good value. Comparable with Thailand.
All in all! Every thing was awesome. Good food, good service! The best thai resto near Kensington-Chinatown
Excellent Thai food, it reminds me of the authentic local street Thai food in Bangkok and the server who is also the owner was so sweet to us.Thank you.
So delicious!
Most authentic Thai food in the city for the most reasonable price
I came to this place for the first time today after I Googled best pad thai spadina - this was the first result, and my dinner lived up to these expectations! I ordered the shrimp pad thai and it was so flavourful! The portion was also really good at the price point. Also, the staff was lovely! I didnt get the server ladys name but she was so friendly and nice. The interior is also very cozy. Ill definitely be back with friends!!
The place is run down but good is great. Prices are a little high for portion size, they have reduced it over the years.
Good food, good portions, friendly service, good price to food ratio, and they take Amex. Need I say more?
We went there for lunch and found their dishes very pricey. The quantity that you get doesnt justifies the price of the items. Tastewise the food was average. I think I will not go there again
I had the spicy pad kee mao with chicken. It tasted great. The value was average for the portion size. The restaurant is quaint, though a tad outdated. Service was good. Would recommend.
Good authentic thai food. I cant eat spicy so I got the shrimp pad thai. Noodles had a nice soft chewy texture. Great prices too
Great food and service. One of my fav restaurants in Kensington market area
I highly recommend the Pad thai noodles. Its very authentic, light and flavourful. The other dishes here are also very good, like the thai curry, and the spring rolls. As they are all made upon ordering, you can request for some changes to suit your taste. Service is great, make sure to go here during a non rush hour if possible. Nam is the owner of the store and shes one of the nicest people.
Good flavours
Every time I visit this place, I don t miss to order their pad Thai. Small restaurant with a very welcoming service. I tried their wonton soup, coconut soup and green curry as well. They were all very flavourful. Coconut ice-cream was also good with shredded coconut in it
The food is sooooooo gooood!!!!!!! Must try.
Curry was great, papaya salad was authentic, BUT! Why adding so much water to rice??? The rice was so mushy that I couldn t eat without mashing it. Same for sticky rice with coconut milk, it s more like a rice cake and I couldn t even separate it
Wish I could rate higher than 5 stars. I have had hundreds of pad Thais from dozens of restaurants from several countries all over the world. This is the best pad Thai I have had since Australia and potentially the best pad Thai I have ever had. Amazing, friendly service too!
Hey would of added the pictures but we ate everything before we thought to make a review.. Great service, on time, over the phone order. Pad Thai chicken Pad si-ew shrimp Basil Fried rice I ve been going here for almost 6-7 years, and the reason is because they re very consistent & delicious! Thank you ! ( ´ `)
Very tasty Phad Thai!
SO GOOOOD!!!! The mango chicken is the best Ive ever had.
Great Thai food, good prices. Very friendly staff Everything was very flavourful! Would definitely come back!
Amazon food and environment, highly recommend
Extremely fast service, extremely good food, extremely good portion sizes. Friends have been here a bunch and everything they tried was good. Was my first time but everything I sampled was amazing.
Okay food and good service
The food was sooo amazing for the price. Definitely recommend. Would come back again
One of my favourite restaurants in Chinatown. Great and affordable food. Excellent service.
Nice cute little family owned thai restaurant. Amazing food and customer service!
Interesting quieter place on Spadina. Good food, not pricey. Portions were adequate
I went here after work with friends during winter. It was the perfect dinner for a cold winter night. It is a really nice and cozy restaurant. For appetizers, we got the curry puffs. They were really tasty, and I really liked the sauce that came with it. For the main, I got the yellow curry with chicken. It was really good and filling. I ordered Thai iced tea as well, and it completed the meal. Their chicken is halal. So that made the experience so much better for me. I cant recall if the beef is halal or not. Customer service was good as well. I would definitely go back here and recommend it as well.
This is my favorite Thai food place in Chinatown. It will continue to be.
Food is okayish, spice level excelent. Great service. I was craving for pork pad see ew Food
Lovely place 10/10 would recommend
Amazing food and I always come back for more with my girlfriend!
We ordered the green curry and a house speciality. Food was mediocre at best for the price.
Food was cooked in great short time! Taste was delicious, service was great! Totally recommend the vegan pad Thai!!
Laid back restaurant with straightforward and tasty food, to be honest, the best kind of place to eat, away from the noise of King Street and fancy places! Ive eaten here at least four times now! I always get noodles!
Cashewnut chicken is really good.
Meals come out quickly, taste good and are reasonably priced. I especially enjoy Pad Thai every time I go.
Tasty food and very good service
Loved the Pad See Ew!
Coconut soap was tasty, ginger beer with vegetables was equally as tasty and the coca cola on ice was awesome. Stop in and check it out theres nothing to this like. ChEeRs!
My dad and I found this place on a whim while walking down Spadina and now we come back here every time we are in the area! Service is ALWAYS amazing and the food is delicious. Mango juice, pad thai, the curry beef, and lemongrass soup have been our favourites! A definite MUST TRY.
Great Thaifood in Toronto
My boyfriend and I had an amazing dinner here after work. The atmosphere was great, and the service was exceptional. Our waitress went above and beyond by surprising us with a complimentary dessert. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.
The food is very tasty and authentic. Pad kra pao was not very spicy and the pork was cooked perfectly.
Great food at amazingly affordable prices in Toronto
Nice people and great food. Everything I ve had on the menu is good and I ve been multiple times.
One of the best spots for authentic Thai food in the city.
Very reasonably priced lunch specials and friendly, attentive staff. My favorite is the Khao Soi, a thick soup with coconut milk, chicken and an array of toppings, a must try.
Authentic real Thai owner. Good freshy cooked on every dish and good price. Very nice owner. Recommended!
I love this restaurant. Family owned and operated its the type of business your soul feels good patronizing. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is kind and attentive. My favourite things to order are the larb with sticky rice, pad set ew, papaya salad, and the crispy spicy fried fish when eggplant. Ive never gone here and not had a delicious meal.
Im so glad I found this place. The food was delicious.
Best pad Thai I ve ever had
I went there for dinner yesterday and it was disappointing . Im not sure I will be going back . The shrimp chips with peanut sauce was good , The hot and sour soup was ok , not the best I had , but still good . The beef pad see ew was very disappointing . I asked for spicy , and no spices at all , and almost no flavor to it , and the water was room temperature . If youre gonna serve a meal with no flavor , at least put some hot sauce and soy sauce on the table ..
Cannot think of a better Thai restaurant. The ambiance is impeccable and the service is very good. Food is very authentic! Highly recommend the Penang and fish chips with peanut sauce!
Really loved the Panang curry. Pineapple fried rice was menh. Would eat there again.
THE BEST PAD THAI! Green curry also amazing! Really friendly service, well priced and great cozy ambience. 10/10 recommend!!
Food was great
This is my go to place for Thai food, service is great, I recommend the curry puffs, fresh rolls with tofu , and any of their curries!!
Decent Thai food and good customer service experience.
Love this place! First time visit and experience was amazing. Food was fresh and delicious. The server was so polite and warm. Loved everything about this place. Will definitely visit again.
Incredibly delicious!!!
So good we love the food here
Fantastic and affordable local Thai spot! Excellent pad see ew, cant wait to go back and make my way through the menu.
I ve ordered just about everything on this menu, and never had a meal that wasn t consistent with the last. Best Thai food in Toronto no doubt !
The hours posted are incorrect. I made plans to come here for lunch with friends and found out at the restaurant that the hours are 3pm opening. They should update their hours everywhere to begin with.
Love the old school vibes, a hidden gem in Chinatown. fresh food and inexpensive. They prepare their food with love!
Pad Thai was dry. Panang curry tasted like chicken in water with cheap veggies. I put some rice in it and it was exactly like putting rice and water and it came out clear on my fork. The cashew chicken was actually a soup and too many veggies that usually don t go into this dish (zucchini? orange bell peppers?) maybe two or three pieces of cashew. It s not great food. Sorry! I hate giving a bad review but the food just didn t cut it and I m quite disappointed after spending $80 as our treat for the week. Also we added extra chicken for $3 and peanut sauce for $1 but definitely did not have extra.
Food Quality: Price/Value: Atmosphere: Service: A great little Thai restaurant in the Kensington Market area. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted, seated, and provided a menu for our perusal. The ambiance was good with the music played throughout the restaurant really setting the mood. The menu was not too overwhelming as they covered the basics at a decent price. We ended up ordering: 1.) Pineapple Fried Rice - $16.99. 2.) Stir Fry with Tamarind Sauce. $16.99. 3.) Massaman Curry - $16.99. The food took about 10-15 minutes to arrive in which we were provided with water beforehand which was regularly filled by our sweet waitress. The food itself was extremely delicious and very flavourful. I would highly recommend trying all 3 items from the menu! My only complaint however is that the portions are in my opinion a tad bit small especially considering the slightly above average price in regards to other Thai restaurants but nevertheless, still a restaurant worth trying!
Was craving for some pad krapow and got my fix here. Wished they had Chang or Leo beer.
As a big Thai food fan, I d say their food is very authentic. Price is affordable and staff is very kind. I m so happy I found this place. Highly recommended.
I ordered the Spicy Pad Kee Mao and enjoyed it a lot! The dish was flavourful and savoury. The eggs, chicken, and tomatoes soaked up the sauce well. I also loved the freshness and crunch of the Chinese broccoli and onions. (PS: The dish was only slightly spicy to me, but that s fine.) My friend ordered the Pad Thai and said it was really good. The staff was friendly, and the service was fast.
Delicious Thai food Dinner combo is very good deal Had curry rice+ spring roll+ soup
Every sunday spot to have one of the best thai food in the city. The ambience is amazing, the owner is very kind and just a really cozy spot for amazing thai food
Exquisite Thai food restaurant. Very good flavors and served with the joy and great friendliness of their service. Highly recommended.
Excellent service and A+ menu ...very affordable prices... I highly recommend this restaurant.....always fresh and flavorful food
so good! I definitely recommend
Highly recommended, specially coconut soup and pineapple fried rice. Delicious food and good prices
Authentic Thai food thats halal. Its a family owned restaurant and they have excellent customer service skills. Always come back here for more and would recommend all to come.
The food here is decent, the price is very affordable. I ordered the combo for 1 for $16, it is not that special, the soup is small and comes with 1 spring roll with rice and chicken curry. But my friend ordered spicy beef noodle stir fry and she said it is pretty good. You should try if you are in the neighborhood to support local small businesses. This is family business I think. The owner is also the chef and server.
I LOVE this place. Great service, great food, great energy. I wont order Thai from anywhere else!
Good food, very quick service. Reasonable price. Would come back again.
Great Thai food at reasonable price. Their red curry and the flat rice noodle dishes are my favorite. Highly recommended!
The staff are so sweet and it is definitely the best Thai food Ive ever had. However, the portions are small, but too me it is worth the money!!
Love their shrimp pad thai and the massaman curry ! Definitely my go-to. Always consistently delicious and the staff are one of the friendliest around. Great service every time !
You want Thai this is the best place in Toronto China town and yes a whole in the wall but delicious every time. My whole family is hooked on it.
Great authentic ma and pa restaurant that I ve tried several times and is always consistently good. Really good price point for what you get as well.
Food with a flavor very similar to Colombian food, very delicious, low prices
My buddies and I had dinner here on September 4, 2021. We were extremely pleased with our dishes. I had the beef pad thai, my brother had the veggie pad thai, one had the stir-fried eggplants, and the other had the chicken pad kee mao. We loved our dishes. Plus the lady who served us was so sweet, and the price was very reasonable.
Although I didnt have any photos, I will say extremely impressed with the food and will be coming back. Food came out quick and portions were fair. I will be back soon for food and photos!
Good food
Excellent food and service!
Small place on Spadina with good flavour of Thai food.
Great taste and size. Love the chicken and shrimp pineapple fried rice.
The green curry is nice
The owner is very nice and the food is great!
Got some takeout pad khee mao. It was really yummy! Some places throw the in kitchen sink and put all kinds of random ingredients and forgets the noodles. But this place really puts effort in frying and flavouring the noodles well. Nice big juicy prawns too. Good spice kick without being overpowering.
Nice restaurant with very friendly staff. Also, great food! Would definitely come here again. The place is small, so when visiting with a couple of people you might want to call in advance.
I always get either the pad Thai, Q3, or masaman curry
Good food at reasonable price. Fast preparation.
Friendly staff and delicious food
Tasty food, friendly and attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. There are a lot of options and they re open relatively late which is nice.
Ordered green curry and pineapple curry got my boyfriend. He ended up getting food poisoning from the chicken as it didn t taste right and suffered for two days with diarrhea and vomiting. Service was pleasant however would not come back for the food as it didn t taste quite right and don t want to suffer through food poisoning.
Great food and great customer service at a reasonable price. I picked up an order there and they called me back saying they forgot an item. I was home by then so they delivered it to my door free of charge. Really lovely people. Pad thai is really good! It is my go to spot for thai food and I dont even live close by.
Good food, good service, good price!
Foods are good, not so fresh. Staff is friendly but service is super slow! Our foods came in different time with 10 minuets gap between each!
Great thai place! Cheap but excellent quality. The appetizer sampler is a must order!
Cheap, delicious and a calm atmosphere!
Delicious authentic Thai food! The restaurant is operated by Thai people which make place more authentic. Their papaya salad is very flavourful, was a bit too garlicky for me. Chicken and shrimp pad thai dishes are absolutely must try!!! They have lunch specials which it makes this place very affordable. P.S. if you order pick up let them know to charge you under special menu.
Delicious food, very friendly staff.
We had Thai Country Kitchen cater an event for around 100 people. They were so easy to get a hold of, communicated well, and treated us like absolute gold. The food was delicious and their green curry was easily one of the best Ive ever had! Unfortunately we live out of town, or else we would 100% be returning regularly. If you have the chance, please order from here and enjoy it for us!
These guys are amazing! We called around to a few other well known Thai places to try and get food catered for our wedding rehearsal dinner and these guys were the fastest and most eager to get back to us. They made the perfect amount of truly authentic Thai food and really made our evening fantastic. Will go there again whenever I am back in Toronto.
Had great take-out food from here with some good friends of mine. Would totally recommend to anyone in the Toronto area!
My favourite thai place! All my friends Ive brought here have all liked this place
Literally the best Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice. Their chilli sauce is really good too! Love this place
Fast, and Affordable. They make great Chicken Pad Thai.
Great people, ambience and Thai country style food.
Must-go Thai restaurant in Chinatown-Kensington market neighborhood. They offer you the food with a good portion and a reasonable price. The restaurant owner is super nice and friendly. She always welcomes customers with a smile on her face. My favorite dish here is Chicken or Veggies Pad Thai. Others are super as well. If you want to add more spice to your food order, don t hesitate to let the server know. Would come back here again.
Very nice atmosphere, service, and food! One of my go-to Thai restaurants!
The food was Delicious!!!!!! We ordered Red Curry with Sea Food and Chicken with Cashew.
Great Thai food! Very much recommended.
The staffs were always smiley when we came. Food was good, might not be the best but that s why it has a special place in my heart. The deco was nothing fancy, however the warm welcome and thai music playing in the background made it up. If you are into super spicy, you can request to make it thai spicy. Love this gem.
Thai Country serves the best Green Curry in the city. My partner and I have tried many places and Thai Country is our absolute favourite Thai place. Amazing service and home cooked style thai dishes. We order here at least once a week and have NEVER been disappointed!
Best Thai food in the city - no waiting, no bs service, no disappointments. Tasty and consistent. Been coming since circa 2011.
