Uber screwed up my order. The owner was nice and took responsibility. He fixed it. Thank you for great service.
I have enjoyed Thai Express in past but found a major deterioration of quality. 1. Largely empty but staff didn't bother cleaning tables. Most (90%) were visibly dirty. 2. Counter poorly designed and can't see preparation. 3. Meal in small container, not plates. Horrible. Plates extra charge. Unbelievable for $16.00...chinsy beyond belief. Suggested opening carton as a plate. 4.chicken portions were not decent as expected for this dish at this price. Last time i will EVER eat at Thai Express. Much better value and quality at so many other places.
I ordered two portions of pad Thai, one spicy and one mild. Both are tasteless, inedible. No egg, no green onion, no peanuts, no salted radish. No flavour. There is more flavour from a packet of instant noodles.
The Ultimate Betrayal 2024-06-06 Update: They are once again serving 3X spicy fried rice, so my new review would be 5 stars; however, I'm going to leave my current star rating up for a few more months to ensure they don't rug pull. I'm just an average Joe caught up in the Toronto rat race who works hard, pays his taxes, and does his best to not let the weight of the world's problems crush his soul. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs: My vice is Thai Express's Basil Fried Rice - 3X spicy (BFR3X). As such, I can frequently be found patronizing the Yonge & Davisville location where they have a Top Chef that spices things to perfection. If my review ended here, this would be a 5 star review. Today I was in a particularly chipper mood and decided to pay this location a visit to end off my week right: BFR3X made to order by my favorite Top Chef. Unfortunately, things soon took an unexpected and dark turn. I was informed that the location's manager was on site that day and it was against corporate policy to do anything higher than 1X spice. Panic set in, but despite my desperate pleas, this manager would not waiver from her authoritarian ways. I soon found myself back on the street with BFR1X, and an overwhelming sense of emptiness that no amount of BFR1X could ever fill. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous! My faith in humanity has been shaken to its very core and I now question whether I shall ever be able to taste from the Garden of Edan, that which I had briefly experienced at the Yonge & Davisville location thanks to my dear Top Chef.
It says close 9pm. As you can see this was taken 835pm. No where to sit. Just got off work and want to eat somewhere. If the hours is not 9pm then don’t advertise as such. Really frustrating. And just got the fried rice it’s wet and soggy. It is not fried rice.
The best thai express of town. I have been coming to this restaurant for so many time . The food are taste very delicious, friendly staff, fast service and clean seating area. I highly recommend to try pad Thai and pad sew and Thai soup of this restaurant.
Tonnes of Beef!!! I stopped at this Thai Express not too long ago, while waiting for a medical appointment nearby. It was just before lunchtime so it was not busy at all. I hadn't eaten at a Thai Express in years so I was very curious as to how the food would taste. I had never been disappointed with the food previously so I knew it couldn't be that bad. As a veteran of a million Pad Thais from around the world, I was looking for something different. I decided to try the Pad See Ew which comes with large rice noodles, egg and Chinese broccoli. I decided on beef as my protein. Let me tell you, the beef was tender and juicy and I got quite the serving of beef. This dish was very filling and overall pretty good. I do hope it has the same consistency at all of their locations as this meal was very good. If I'm back in the area anytime soon, I will stop in again.
Best to order ahead of time since I had to wait for 25 minutes for my order to be made. It is a shared restaurant with a Mr Sub outlet with each of them being totally separate. These days, due to COVID, you only enter from the entrance of the side street and exit from the Yonge St door. They have enough sanitazer containers for customers use. If you want peanuts and/or hot sauce, you have to ask for it. The Pad Thai and Pad See were OK but it is certainly a quick service restaurant quality and not of a good Thai restaurant. The Sausage fried rice was bad and the inside of the sausage did not look like a meat sausage. The chicken nuggets were too dry. The spring rolls were very average. If you like sweet dessert, the chocolate cake is sweet and taste OK. There are (paid) street parking except for rush hours and there is a small Sober supermarket around the corner so if you are also doing some grocery shopping, you can probably use one of their free parking spots.
It s cheap price but taste is trash, go for PAI instead
To be nice. It s needs a refresh .
Food is great. Kind of confusing in there. Your just kind of wondering around. No system. A little slow.
Gross
Highly recommend Thai fried rice. The flavors are perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spice and freshness from the ingredients.
$17 for the most disgusting tom yum soup I have ever tasted in my life.
The food was bland, had about 1.5 cups of green peppers as the only vegetable in the green curry. Threw most of it out and went next door and got a sub.
The food here is very suitable to my taste, the staff is fun and friendly
False advertising central... Do not get the combos here... Horrible service by the manager. Very rude
I would have given three stars since the food isn t too bad, but I find it very offensive that your deal of the day included a 20oz drink, yet because your soda machine was broken you decided to give me a 12oz can of coke instead of the 20oz bottle right. Not only was it annoying that you didn t tell me before you gave it to me nor was I apologized to. Instead I was told it s the rules, as if customers are expected to foot the bill when your machines break
Vegetarian options: Less veg options Food
I had to wait 20 minutes to get my food. Then I finally had to asked them to get the order going. They served a 12 Oz drink instead of the 20oz advertised. Imperial roll was also forgotten. I had to ask for it and it was served cold. I asked for level 4 spiciness, it was less than mild
Good food
Have ordered 3 times from this location. First time was good. Second time I ordered a vegan pad Thai but received something totally different. Third time my order was correct but they didn t give me any plum sauce for the imperial roll. Definitely a hit or miss depending on when it s busy or not. Staff doesn t seem to work that fast when it s busy so you do have to wait a bit.
Fried rice was amazing I will definitely come agian
Tom Yum soup is sweet sour and spicy. So good! They also have Tom Yum fried rice
I believe this restaurant is illegally committing tax evasion (or at the very least has terrible customer service). I was in there picking up lunch around 1pm. When cashing me out, the worker didnt input it into the register, but just entered the total into the debit machine. I asked for an itemized receipt from the register, was given my debit machine receipt, and eventually they tried to pass me off a kitchen chit. I had to ask 3 staff 20 times before they finally gave me a receipt. This shouldnt have been so difficult! When I finally was given a cash register receipt, it was faded. It gives the impression something shady is going on. Why so hestitant to touch the cash register and actually input accurate orders? Why manually writing orders with a cash register in front of you? They need to be audited and someone needs to reconcile / compare their cash register vs. debit machine.
Great vegan pad Thai
I love this place, many guys are kind and cute
Went for chicken pad thai yesterday and the noodles were undercooked and hard. That is the first time that happened, I have had other issues with them as well regarding the orders. I went back and the manager told me thats how they cook the noodles. But they werent cooked at all. He did refund my $18.00. Not many places to eat around davisville area but I am done with this place.
I came in at 9pm tonight and ordered tofu pad thai. I was hoping that the employee would wash his hands/change his glove after touching the computer and the debit machine but he did not. I didn t say anything until he proceeded to touch the ingredients, take his phone out of his pocket to read something and then continue to touch the ingredients. I told him I was uncomfortable with that, so he washed his hands while still wearing his one glove. At this point he had passed my order off to his coworker who also didn t wash his hands after cashing out another customer. The entire kitchen was a mess and the pad thai was super dry. This is the second time I ve had terrible experience at this location, unfortunately I don t think I will be back.
Love the food here! Patient and kind staffs! Definetely come back again
The place is under construction through no fault of their own. Today I ordered the chicken fried rice (basil) with medium spice. Big portion. Couldnt finish it all. I think theyve made their boxes bigger. Food was fresh and there was lots of chicken and egg in it. A+
So much chicken and sauce!! This place doesnt skimp like other places do!!!
One of the worst experiences at a food establishment. A man with glasses on who was taking my order at 820pm was very abrupt when I requested no onions. He kept brushing me off. When I reconfirmed upon picking up my order the cook said there is onion in here. The man at the cash then became angry and began banging pots and pans around. He is clearly in the wrong line of work.
Good service. Cheerful staff. Amazing delicious fast food.
Just horrible food.
This place sucks for a Thai express. The pad sew ew is supposed to be saucy and delicious but instead we get dry a*s and disgusting pad sew ew. Who ever is training the staff here please remove yourself from the company because you re doing a horrible job.
Friendly staff. I luv their tom yum soup
Add 10-12 minutes to the pickup time. The last three times I ve ordered for pickup it was ready 10-12 minutes late.
Ordered a Pad Thai instead of a Pad Thai Racha and the guy was willing to help me re-cook the food! Excellent service and great food!
First thing for me, its customer service...if served well, your food will taste even better. Fast, Fresh, Courteous at the right price...let me say their food is a treat to the taste
The place is always closed. Whenever I come here its closed. So unreliable!! Wouldnt suggest anyone to come here..
Good food
Lol whoever says this its at the right price definitely doesnt know about Chinese food, you get less than half of the quantity that youll get in any other restaurant like this for the same price and the food its barely ok, with their soggy rice. They literally charge you 14dls for a fist of food.
Tasty and yummy. The team members arent that good in communication but thats completely acceptable if you get great, fast and friendly service. Must give it a shot.
Not what I asked. Paid for extra veggie didn t get any veggies. Asked for mild it s hot. Asked for chicken for tofu. Can t eat this
I usually visit here closer to their closing time due to my classes ending late. Each time was a 15 minute wait but the Pad Thai I order from here is actually delicious. Impressive and satisfying considering its a chain restaurant. Ones in York Region or elsewhere are not even close to the quality that Ive received here. Spring rolls are overly greasy but their dumplings are pretty good if youre looking for appetizers.
I dont know whats going on here .I had been wating more then 20 mnts nd still my food wz not ready.None of the workers are wearing any hair net nd they touching their hair nd handling food yak
What is this ? The workers did not wear hair net and she was touching her hair. Its a small and busy place and slow. My order was blended and it was full of veg no chicken at all. They dont even no how to make pad seew. I been eating thai Express since they opened stores in canada. I will not come back here again.
Order steamed dumplings and the person working their rushed it serving absolutely disgusting raw, cold and undercooked food. Never again visiting this location. I would give 0 star if possible. !
So I ask for a Stir fry with noodles... great I think it will taste so good. I specifically request very little hot spice, very little. I get home take bite and freakin nearly choke because it is SO spicy hot. What is wrong with your staff. Do they not understnd this simple request? What a waste!!!
Customer service skills are horrible. Yells at customers and then gives them the wrong order. No people skills the food also was very dry pad thai noodles. Will never go back to this location again. Very disappointed of the quality and customer care they provide.
went in store to place order, waited for 30 minutes just for a pad thai, with only 2 people ahead of me. would not advise to visit if in a hurry
Best thairacha in town
It was soooooo dirty in there.
Excellent if you love thai and ha e a sophisticated pallet...tho not for everybody :-)
Miserable/unfriendly staff - barely made eye contact. Didnt make for an enjoyable experience. The food was decent though.
No proper customer service good thing i ordered for take out and the taste is not as good as how you get in other proper thai express locations this is the different taste i felt like only the spices flavour besides the other 4locations i tried the same food and same taste in those 4locations.And major issue is no parking as it in downtown streets its very hard to find a spot.
Went there tonight and there was one person ahead of me. The cashier had a hard time processing the payment and had to try multiple times. I waited for my food expecting it to be the second plate made but they served so many other customers. When there was nobody left in the restaurant one of the girls noticed I was standing there and looked at me weird. I decided to ask her if my food was being made. It was clear they forgot my order and they didn t reply and started to make the food finally. There were 4 people working!!! I had to ask a second time before they finally gave me my food. My food also was bland and was clearly not made properly. I m not surprised. Horrible experience from one of my favourite chains. Unfortunately will not be coming back to this location. Hire better staff.
Hi, I got a Basil fried rice with Fish today and deep fried fish was so hard to eat. I think the cook deep fried too much. I tried other Thai express many times but fish were tendered. I can send you the photo. If this is a franchisee, the franchiser should know about it. Please improve and keep good quality of the dishes.
Got 2 general thai meals. Half the chicken was unchewably tough, one piece had a bone in it, some was just breading. Served on new cardboard plates which makes me think a recent round of cost cutting has taken place. Never again.
Try the cauliflower rice
I have a weak spot for peanut stir fry from Thai Express, which is more popular in my home city of Montreal than here. This is the only location in Toronto that does a good job.
I ordered a take out of fried rice with shrimp, I was shocked to find out that I paid more than $13 for a silly small container full of sticky rice. This is the most expensive rice I ever ordered that I got only 5 pieces of small shrimp...To calculate that ..Let say I paid $ 5 for the rice.. then each piece of a small shrimp cost me $1.5 ..WHAT A SCAM even the rice was not freshly cooked, and with an ugly look and colour..SORRY NEVER AGAIN..
Pineapple fried rice is muy delicious. Friendly staffs.
This location used to have some of the worst staff of any Thai Express; impolite people serving tasteless food, they got on my absolute nerve. I decided to return today after months of neglecting this place as an option. I was serviced by two people I ve never seen at this location before and their service met all expectations, while the food tastes like it should. I ll update this rating if I ve spoke too soon but 5 out of 5 today.
Love their pad seew. Delicious and filling.
Good food but a bit pricey for fast food.
Taste is okay but deeply fried sugar coat is too thick
Great small location near the Davisville station. The staff are very nice and fast they quickly and correctly made my order. They had great to go packaging. I would go again and again if I could. Seating and Bathrooms available. Mr Sub is connected.
Not Good and just a little for me
Ok, its a quick meal joint. But you can do something like that well. Pasta with chicken, egg and brocolli. This was almost inedible! The noodles were completely overcooked and the rest tasted (bad) just like the noodles. That being said, even if you go there (please dont) definitely take the food with you. Otherwise you get it served on a paper plate and the plastic fork doesnt deserve its name. Conclusion: that was a terrible meal
I got veggie fried rice, payed $11 for it. Comes with very little vegetable, will never back again
I just walked into this location at quarter to 9 and they blatantly shut me down and told me they are closed. Horrible service, horrible attitude. This is the typical scenario where they start cleaning up early hoping no one will come in at the last minute.
Ive been here twice with coupons & both times Ive been pretty disappointed with the food. Fairly small portion for the cost. Too spicy & no flavour. Nothing pleasant about this food
Very pricey for the amount of food you get. Food tastes OK.
Food was ok
Drove from Greektown to have some of their soup. It was cold and the staff speak their language and laugh out loud. I wouldnt recommend this place
Good one
I showed up 15 minutes before closing and the woman working there yelled at me that they were closed and then rudely slammed the door in my face - how rude!! I have tried to get food from them three times and each time they would not serve me because I came within the last hour of operation. Change your hours on your front door or hire new late shift staff because your customer service rep on duty then is absolutely awful.
Its good for I want Thai food but Im too lazy to look for good Thai food
Great service, friendly staff, delicious food. However, they dont serve anything gluten free despite the GF symbol.
I liked the food. Fresh, made to order. I ate the Pad Thai which is noodles with bean sprouts and chicken. It cost a little more than CAD 12.00. This store is right next to St Clair Station.
I had basil fried rice. The preparation was typical but amount of meat was possibly way less than usual.
Lovely Asian food.
Great customer service and quick delivery.
Bad food Bad service Never again.
Good service, reasonable prices, good food. Basically, fast food.
Usually very good. Sometimes they go light on the sauce but Im always happy in the end.
Not only great food but great staff. Also, one of the fastest services at a Thai express
The food just isnt that good. Kind of expensive too.
ALWAYS BURNT!!!!
OMG this food is delicious and its really fresh, nice staff there I recomend this place to anyone
