Chicken Pad Thai is excellent with a huge portion. I can be ordered online or through the kiosk as it cooked to order.
i wonder why this restaurant has low reviews. my meal was good good for me, hot and flavorful.
Love this place, I come here every chance I get if I’m in the area. The Khao Soi is amazing along with Pad Thai
Ordered a “pad kra pow chicken” and look what I got. If this place is Thai, then I’m a mermaid. One positive thing is that their portion is huge — so quite good value for the nutrition you get
Too much msg and too salty, the wrong price was charged (two regular items meal was charged with Seafood price, I felt it was intended). The quality definitely goes down from couple years ago
This was my first time ordering a tofu based dish (spicy tofu) and I was pretty impressed. I've heard that tofu is very dependent on seasoning for its flavor and they did a wonderful job getting it to taste right. I'm a picky eater and the first bite was quite pleasant. I don't think I'd ever order something like this again though. The texture of the tofu confused my mouth, kinda spongy, so I'm going to stick to gnawing on flesh like a caveman. Gave it 5 stars because, while it's not for me, I'm sure that someone with more adventurous taste buds would get a kick out of this.
So just some background, I recently started working in Toronto and decided to explore restaurants around the PATH, personally, I don’t think the low reviews does this place justice at least in terms of the food. I get that a lot of the reviews are from years ago and from my experience today, the restaurant was really good. If I have to be completely honest, this place compared to other food-court styled restaurants is extremely good. The portion is good for the price, the food taste like authentic Viet food despite the restaurant being called “Thai Island”. I got the Lemongrass Chicken rice and although it was my first time, I was definitely not disappointed. The chicken was juicy and the rice was cooked well. Take my review for a grain of salt as I’ve only been here once but for someone who’s grown around Viet food their entire life, that dish did not disappoint, especially when compared to other food court restaurants. As for service, I can’t really speak on it as it was my first time but I had a pleasant interaction with the cashier. Hopefully this helps, if you’re having trouble finding it, it’s located around the corner in TD Centre food court. :)
Pathetic food. Rice is so undercooked that I left the food as it is. U can taste raw rice while eating. I hope you stomach stays strong after having this stuff... Moreover too oily as well... I see a line up there rt now. God saves their tummy.
Good food
I loved this food very much and I recommend it to anyone who loves Asian food.
Not real pho. Please dont mislead people. Soup doesnt taste beefy at all and it claims to be bone broth.
I don t know what happened to this location. I used to come here all the time despite the crusty service, I would always order the same thing tofu khao soi every single time that s how good it was .. and now never again. The food is disgusting it s not even eatable, zero flavour everything was stale and it s like they microwave there food. So disappointed absolutely will not be back.
Awesome Thai Food. My usually spot to eat during lunch time, prices are fair for Thai.
The food here has been going downhill. Cold. No taste. Portions are getting smaller and smaller. Staff are friendly.
I thought the House pad Thai would be special, so I had it for lunch. Its ridiculous all you get are noodles and no meat or vegetables. Sweet noodles cost $15.
Delicious fast food at a reasonable price. Try the General Thai Chicken, its their best.
Rude staff, noodles stuck together that smell like dirty rag. 1 star is a generous rating.
Had the spicy soup with lemongrass chicken and it was absolutely gross full of noodles and tomatoes. Why would you put tomatoes in Thai soup? Edit. Charged my cc 3 times. Wow. Scam
Ive been eating here twice a week for over a year, today someone bumped me by accident and I dropped my meal. I asked management for a replacement, and she told me to put my empty container in the recycling bin... Horrible customer service, I was beside myself. Manager next door at Subway saw the incident and offered me a free sub. Thats how you handle the situation. Today was the last time Thai Island gets money from this guy.
Fast and good service. Prices can be more competitive.
Love Basil Chicken on Fried rice, try if you like spicy food.
Hit and miss. Had the beef vermicelli one day, was fantastic. Had it two days later and it was swimming in oil, fish sauce and vinegar. Practically soup.
Please change the timing of your store. I came from my work on Sunday to eat and it was closed while on the google map it says it s open
Good lunch spot for financial district people
like it!
Beef Pho was pretty good and the price was decent.
Tasty food with fair price! Service is awful: be prepared as they will rush you!
A colleague recommended me this place and boy I regret going here. I had the lemongrass chicken with fried rice and veggies (noodles were 1$ extra, which makes no sense). My dish was 85% rice, 10% veggies and 5% chicken, it was ridiculous. Very small portions of meat and veggies and they load up on the fried rice, which is terrible itself. Very low quality even for a food court. Stay away.
The WORST food I ever had, and I am a foodie. The WORST food quality you can ever imagine and you can taste they use the LOWEST quality ingredients EVER!! Made To Order food was cold and tasteless, meat was cold and stale, noodle was cold, soup was warm to cold and all round does not taste fresh. Had STOMACH ACHE afterwards!! They dont care for repeat customers. Do yourself a favor and get something else. If you want Thai Island, at least go to other locations in First Canadian Place or BCE since they are MUCH MUCH better!!
I eat here twice a week and have for years. I love their basil chicken and its a tasty alternative to the rest of the bland food court items.
Ok
Jul 2012 - Service not as great as BCE thai island.. Dont have any sauce in spicy tofu and ignored my request to try getting sauce from the bottom of the tray..who wants DRY rice ... And they didnt have basil tofu item as well
