What do you get when you mix friendly staff, beautiful vibes and delicious authentic Thai food? You get THAY bar. One of the few places that brings me back to Bangkok. Food is tastefully spicy, menu is extensive to everyone’s tastes. Would really recommend the papaya salad!
I’ve been here constantly since it opened over a year ago - hands down, the best Thai food in Toronto. Specifically, the best Seafood Tom Yum (get the Tom yum hot pot one) and Papaya Salad (get the Northeastern Style if you like the variant with raw crab/fish sauce and really spicy). And this is someone who has tried all the Thai restos Toronto/Scarborough have to offer! They also don’t hold back on the spice level- feels like you’re back in Thailand eating the cuisine. 10/10!
Chicken satay is very tasty with the flavourful peanut sauce. My family love the food. The best Thai street food in town. We will come back, for sure
Amazing and authentic Thai food! Ordered the Khao soi, Thai mango salad, and the Green Curry Chicken. Spicy and delicious. My taste buds are still tingling. I must have walked by this place dozens of times in Koreatown, without really paying attention to it. So glad we stopped by today. Great service & food!
Cute Thai restaurant hidden among the abundance of Korean restaurants dotted near Christie Pits. It was quiet when we went but the food and service here was excellent. They have a small patio space at the back and front of the restaurant but it was too humid outside so we opted to sit inside. There wasn't any AC inside the restaurant but there were a few fans running so at least there was some airflow. The staff was super helpful and took great care to ensure we were well looked after throughout our whole time here. We got the Pad Ka-Praow with Crispy Pork, the Pineapple Red Curry with Chicken and the Canadian-Style Fresh Mango Salad. I particularly like the last two. The Pad Ka-Praow came with an egg but it seemed overcooked instead of having a runny yolk. The menu here is extensive with lots of options. I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes as everything here was super flavourful and tasty.
Wow! Amazing Thai food restaurant. Went here for Mother's Day with my family, and we opted to share a couple items from the snack menu and appetizers. We each also tried different mains (curry pad thai is what's photographed) and we got a complimentary mango sticky rice All of the food is absolutely to die for. 💜 Gorgeous patio, beautiful interior ambience too! The stairs to the washroom are a bit steep as a warning. Staff was so kind, checked on us regularly and made this experience awesome. Thanks so much, we had an awesome time!
Cute spot in Ktown that serves up delicious and spicy 🌶️ Thai dishes! Yes, as the menu indicates - the dishes are actually spicy! I loved it! Recommend ordering mild/less spicy if 🌶️ isn’t your thing. Still dreaming about the Drunken noodles! Tasty, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly! Friendly service and they have a patio! Will be back when the weather is nicer!
Loveee everything about this place. Even just before entering the restaurant, the atmosphere and vibe already takes you away as if you’re not in Canada and that you’re transported to Thailand. They had various of dishes and beverages to choose from and they were decently priced. We ordered from their lunch specials which were the chicken pad Thai and garlic chicken with rice and extra egg. Our meal also came with a spring roll and soup, which was very pleasant as it was snowing heavily yesterday. Then, I paired my meal with a Thai tea and had mango sticky rice for dessert :)) We absolutely enjoyed our time there and we’ll definitely come back for more!
Ordered the pad Thai through Uber eats. It was quite underwhelming and sad.
Great and speedy service, with exceptional food. Very cozy and warming atmosphere, this is deffinetly a location to stop by and try.
That Bar is a house transformed restaurant, its super cozy inside, right now, it has some Christmas decoration with a tree, some festive lighting. Overall, its very welcoming and nice brick walls and reasonable tables and seating. They have two combo specials, one is $45 CDN that comes with the Tom Yum Seafood Food Hot Pot + a fish dish or $65 combo that comes with the aforementioned seafood hotpot + a big plate of seafood bucket with calamari, shrimps, corn, mussels. The yellow curry chicken was delish, good amount of heat yet still manageable to eat by those who arent super spicy eater. The bowl of curry is in large portion (bigger than other places) and the coconut sticky rice was amazing! We also tried to Khao Sow, chicken thigh, good amount of food. Moreover, we flushed it down with a lychee soda and thai iced tea. This a great restaurant for some authentic Thai Food, if you are in Korea Town and wanted something other than Korean food, give Thay Bar a try. Parking: There is a Green P parking lot right beside the restaurant, there are about 30 spots with a few accessible parking spaces.
Weve only ever ordered in from this place but its been a hit every single time! The food is always great and the service is amazing - the people working there are always so kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy - the perfect vibe for a little date night!!
Love thay bar! My favorite item is the green curry, but I also love the crispy chicken with sticky rice, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. Great place for a hearty supper and beer at the end of a long week!
Parking: Green P beside the resto. Wheelchair accessibility: Tight for wheelchair Food : 4/5 |
Great place for first date. Cozy and intimate vibes with good food.
10/10 the food and service was top notch
Loved the fried rice and green curry, looking forward to trying more!
Love it here. Thai staff and cooks. Reminds me of places in Thailand. On Saturdays they have a Thai singer!! Parking: Green P parking next door
Was recommended the braised beef dry noodle dish, after 2 bites that was it for me. The beef was dry, flavorless and tasted off, most likely microwaved. Got home and felt sick in my stomach for 2 days after. The service was horrible too, always had to wave down the server if you wanted something as if they have zero situational awareness or cant read queues.
The food is sooooo frickin good I come here often so that should tell you something. Love the place they have patio outside (ambience 10/10). Love the Thai iced tea, and the staffs are so friendly.
Had a pad kra prow and thai tea here, which is really good. It tastes better compare to other Thai restaurant. I always being served-well by the female server. The service is outstanding to the point that I might keep coming here for another round. Thanks Thay Bar!!!
Free pop with a review. Love it.
For the free drink
Amazing!
Amazing place to eat at ! Great service .
the diet coke was great!
Delicious papaya salad w crab, also the seafood tomyum hot pot is excellent! Staff are friendly and the service is good
Ordered chicken pad Thai from Uber Eats tonight and super disappointed. No flavours or spice, I requested Thai medium which should have had something but it was just bland Thai food and not worth the order. Too bad because the reviews are good on here but someone clearly didn t read the notes for the order. Also they filled it mainly with bean sprouts and hardly any protein. Just order from Chang Mai and avoid this place, they can t compete with authentic Thai places clearly.
Patio is exceptional. I ve been here several times for different restaurants. I generally lean on my in-laws and spouse to judge a Thai restaurant(they lived there for 10+ years). We had som tum (killed me, in the best way), pad Thai, khao soi and etc. spellings, chili chicken, and chicken wings. They were happy and readily proclaimed how flavourful and authentically Thai cuisine the food was. The owner was so welcoming and kind and engaged with my family in Thai which also meant a lot to them. The food was great from my own experience in Thailand as well and I will be going back consistently. It s very hard to judge people s palettes and everyone has different expectations but spice level was explicitly communicated and I m sure that had my family asked for the music inside to be turned down, it would be. If you need the server, ask, they are happy to help. While we were there, another table mentioned how they d been there twice that week and were so happy as well. Parking: It s Korea Town, don t expect parking. Seriously.
Must come, must try, must. Anyone who doesnt come is missing out a lot!!!!! Tell me!!!! And if you come to expect it to be like this 100% original Thai style. Girls, please take a look. How much does it cost to send items overseas? Do a good calculation at the shop. They can do it right on the machine. Missing home is the end!!! The original Thai bar!! I totally suggest this thai bar
Went in for some early dinner on weekday and it was quiet, maybe 2 other tables outside but me and my wife the only ones inside. Server started fairly friendly. The food was really good too, I had the drunken noodles and the spice level was just perfect, my wife had the Pad Se-ew and it was also really good. Now the problems. As me and my wife were eating, not only was the music super loud to the point where we could barely hear each other, someone ,who we assume was management, came in talking fairly loud on the phone and pointing their phone s camera at us. When we asked our server she just said that he was watching a video even tho we saw that he was actually recording us. Probably won t go back since we ve had better thai food in the city.
Good food
The food seems a bit strong.
Best rava masala dosa I ve had in years.
4.5/5 - Good, reasonably priced Thai food! Relaxed vibe and friendly staff. My one unhinged complaint is that the chairs are quite uncomfortable. The inside chairs are kind of awkwardly designed such that theres no support for your lower back, while I think the outside ones are the cheapest IKEA patio chairs, which Ive never liked. Also, itd be great if they added a Mango Chicken dish to their menu + dinner for two deals.
Omggg!!! The foods are soooo good!! Love the vibes and awesome patio. Cute servers too
Stale microwaved food :( Such a disappointment !! Ordered a Mango Sticky Rice for take out, picked it up myself & literally ate outside the restaurant. The rice was microwaved, dry & clumped. When you microwave rice, it goes dry & thats what happened here. I saw the restaurant worker trying to unclump something in a white plastic bowl, assumed she was mixing in the coconut milk in the rice, but, alas, its not. Such a disappointment !!
Good small thai spot. The portions are okay for what you get, and the food is tasty. I found the plates an odd choice for the meals. Especially a flat plate for a rice dish. We would come back. It is dine in
Best Thai food, probably better than Thailand too since i have been to Thailand so many times. And blown by their spicy crispy pork and Tom Yum thai fried rice
Live music, great food and portion, excellent customer service, unmatchable ambience. This is a spot that you want to gate keep. And its a spot that you will be so proud to bring your friends over at the same time.
The patio space was nice. Mina the server was very friendly. Tom Yum Soup and Papaya salad were amazing. Definitely go back !
Food was good
My family and I visited High Park and we suddenly craved for Thai food. We gave THAY Bar a go and it didn t disappoint. We had pad ka prao and pad thai and they tasted authentic. The ambience was awesome and Keira who took our order was amazing too. We will be back!
good food cozy place!!!
so good!!! food is fire!!!
Scrumptious pad thai in town!!
Delicious food, kind and attentive service, can t wait to come back!
The food was good, but the servers attitude was not it, I felt rushed.
Love Thai food, but not sure where all the high ratings come from. The atmosphere was okay but not their dishes, which were either pretty bland or too salty in general.
This might be one of the best Thai spots I ve ever tried, and I ve tried a lot. Only regret is not coming here sooner. I ordered the Red Curry with Pineapple and beef. So good.
Very yummy! Better than the other Thai restaurants I have tried.
Amazing authentic Pad Thai! Small cozy place in the heart of Korea Town. Do not miss out on the chicken wings.. Some of the best in the city. Crispy.. And delicious
Food is always consistent and service is great. My favorite Thai restaurant in town.
Food is amazing! The portions are large and super tasty . So happy to have found a authentic Thai restaurant.
I love this place!
Authentic Thai food matched by amazing hospitality of staff.. this place is a hidden gem... Tom yum soup and Thai iced coffee is the most genuine Thai food Ive had in a very long time. Thank you for a delicious meal; one Ill return to soon
Rude server
Food was spicy and delicious. Enjoyed all of it.
Had a great experience at Thay Bar. Who knew I d love crispy tofu so much?! The curries were so flavourful, veg cooked to perfection, all presented nicely and at a more than fair price. Highly recommend. But not too much I want to keep going without much fuss!
Small & cozy place with delicious food & great service. Can t wait to visit them again at the patio in the summer
Absolutely LOVE the tom yum seafood hot pot! The soup is so flavorful, and there are so many shrimps and mussels, with vegetables too. Partner and I went on a cold night and the small flames keeping the food in the hot hot - and me! - warm! I am definitely going to take my mom there! p.s. please dont get deterred by the IG pic which show shrimps with heads in the hot pot. We almost missed this dish because my partner was, lets just so, a *little bit* squeamish.
Good service
Outstanding food quality and service. The place otherwise looks too much like an outdoor patio indoors. Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian option. Parking: Its downtown. Parking is next to impossible to find. Had major difficulties with the Green P app which needed a $20 deposit in order to charge me 8 dollars for 1.5 hrs of parking. Walk there if you can.
Very average Thai food and slightly overpriced. Best thing about this place is theres a patio and you can always get a table because its always empty.
A hidden gem in Toronto! loved the ambience, food and service. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned!
Cute place and the Tom yum seafood hotpot is perfect for a cold day
Thay Bar is a hidden gem in Koreatown! Relaxed atmosphere, huge portions, and authentic Thai cuisine. The Green Curry is authentically spicy and a must-try! Try the Thai Milk Tea, Butterfly Pea Lemonade, Pad Thai, and Green Curry - all incredible! They cater to all preferences and offer convenient takeout/delivery options. Dont miss this place!
Great service, incredible food and lovely ambiance. Loved that theyre open till 12a.m. They were kind enough to serve us Mango sticky rice despite the kitchen being shut. The food is expensive but the quality is top notch. Worth it. :)
We feel lucky to have this gem in our hood. Delicious, authentic Thai food. Very friendly service.
Great first time experience great food
Our neighborhood go-to place for good Thai food.
This is an authentic Thai restaurant that gives a Thai beach vibe with their food and music. We ordered Hat Yai Fried chicken, Som Tum Seafood and Grill pork jowl. All of them were delicious. The Som Tum was a bit under-seasoned for my liking but thats not a big deal. The grill pork jowl was very generous portion. Id say the best one I have in Toronto so far. I want to give a special thank to the server that we had on the night of Dec 26. She went above and beyond to make sure we are happy with the food. When the sticky rice was sold out, she gave us another portion of fired chicken on the house. She also made sure we are full with everything we ordered. Even though the place seemed understaffed, she constantly checked on us. Kind gestures like these make a local restaurant like this place worth protecting at all cost.
A hidden gem! I love their beef pad thai. Actually tastes like pad thai, and not the awful ketchup-y version. Their mango sticky rice is good too.
The food !!! Every dish we has its own identity and flavor profile. Highly recommend the green curry and the Mango Salad. Food
Our first meal here was delicious. Creamy peanuty panang and the whole fried fish with herbs. The fish was as good as any Ive had in Thailand and is great for sharing if you dont mind getting your hands dirty. Service was friendly and excellent and speaks Thai. We sat on the small covered front patio, but there is a nice, quiet back patio too. Good cocktail selection, but we ended up drinking from the small but serviceable beer selection. Will go back soon! Edit: Weve been back a few times now, eating our way through the menu. We havent been disappointed and the place has been busy. Aroi dee (very delicious)! Go treat yourself to one of the best Thai spots downtown.
Fabulous food, friendly, gracious staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere. My new favourite Thai restaurant!!
DO NOT GO HERE! Unless you want well spiced and authentic Thai street food & favorites. The Thai style mango salad is just like you get on the streets of Bangkok, mangos and sweet fish sauce chutney to dip into. Chicken wings were crispy and well salted. Green curry was spicy, not too creamy and the veggies were perfectly cooked. Great spice level (a little hot if you dont like heat).
The food was great! We had the tomyum seafood hotpot and it was so tasty (make sure to ask the server for chili if you love spiciness). Will definitely be back to try other dishes!
Great location Delicious food Awesome patio Recommended dishes
First time visiting here and the Thai food was authentic and excellent. Great atmosphere with solid music, patio and decor
Highly recommend the fish, chicken tendon & papaya salad!! The drinks were also amazing
One of the best Thai meals Ive had in Toronto, it has a very good presentation and the price is cheap!
Very very good! I live close by and decided to check out the new Thai place. I had the fried chicken as I have never seen it in other Thai menus. The chicken was fantastic, the tamarind sauce goes very well with it. The highlight is the Hunger Noodle, which is chef recommended. The Thai Sausage in combo with the other flavours is delicious. We also got the fried chicken skin, which is similar to pork crackle. Yum! Thai iced tea was a little too sweet for me, but still very good. The staff was kind enough to ask us for our opinions on the food. They really care. Service was great. Will definitely be coming back here. Authentic and delicious Thai food with a nice atmosphere, and great service.
Delicious. We tried the fry fish with herbs and the crispy pork. Love the sauces. Yum. Great service too.
second time here, very high quality Thai food. Pad kimao is spicy and fragrant, and green curry is delicious and the wait staff is amazing. Great patio as well
Everything we ordered was delicious and authentic. Will definitely eat here again!
My second time, my first time was through ubereats and it did not do justice. Calamari - The batter is light and crispy and the squid is salty and tender. The sweet and sour sauce really helps cut through the richness of deep fried food. Great appetizer and would pair well with ice cold beer Khao Soi - a well made traditional northern thai Khao soi with tender and chunky beef in a rich and thick coconut based broth. The noodle was cooked nicely and the crispy egg noodle topping really adds crunchy texture to the dish and a squirt of lime juice is all you need to mellow down the creamy broth. Hunger Noodle - This was labelled Chef Recomendation in the menu, It was probably inspired from the movie Hunger. The rice noodle was chewy, a perfect al dente. As per the movie, the base of the sauce is probably from XO and oyster sauce and you can really taste how salty and savoury the dish is and it was perfectly balanced with the sweet thai sausage. Definitely the best dish I had yesterday. Mango Sticky Rice - Ive tried Mango Sticky Rice at Koh Lipe, Suko Thai and Pai and this is definitely the best. The mango is sweet and the rice was sticky and tender. They topped it with some kind of crispy bits of rice or beans which elevates the dish overall. Probably my new favourite thai spot in the city.
Amazing!! Great food, great service, great experience overall
I visited Thailand 4 years ago and have been looking for food as legitimate as the ones ive tried there. No restaurants have ever come close until this one! My personal favourite was the mango sticky rice, the mangoes were fresh and rice was perfectly seasoned and fragrant. I will be recommeding this restaurant to all my friends and family.
We ordered the grilled pork, hunger noodles (which was a chef s favorite), khao soi and mango sticky rice. The grilled pork reminds me of the one i had in thailand!! So yummy :)
Fried fish is really good. Probably the best for Thai restaurants/bar/eatery. Grilled pork is good as well. Pad thai is decently good. Lively place. Clean washroom. However low ceiling. Outdoor dining - patio is normal spacious but inside dining is a little tight. Overall the place is good.
Loved this place!! Food was amazing (tried the Pad see ew and coconut shrimp), service was perfect and back patio ambiance was a 10/10. Highly recommend.
The portions and pricing are fair. The vibe is great, especially the patio out back. Food wise, highly recommend the pad kee Mao! The servers are very nice and considerate. The seats could be more comfortable though.
this restaurant is the best authentic thai restaurants. we were ordered fish with mango thai, tom yom seafood, the thai fried rice and the mango sticky rice for the desert. The taste are amazing. The staff also very friendly and helpful. 100/10 Food
The food is really delicious, especially the seafood tom yum and the mango sticky rice. The staff was friendly, nice and helpful.
Nice patio area at the back. The drinks were quite good. Liked their signature Thai cocktail. We also ordered some sort of roasted pork appetizer , shrimp Pad Thai and green curry, super yummy. There were so much flavours in all of the dishes. Would definitely return. Highly recommended.
Amazing food and very friendly staff!
Cute spot with delicious, authentic Thai food and fun drinks. The fried chicken with sticky rice and khao soi were incredible. Excellent service. Loved the back patio. Will definitely be going back. Kid-friendliness: No high chairs
We ate at THAY BAR yesterday ( June 11, 2023) together with our friends. We ordered Papaya Salad, Pad Kimao, Pad Kana Moo Krob, Pad Se-ew , & Panang Curry. The food are ok & very Authentic as we had ever eaten in Thailand. The waitress who served us are very good in the Food knowledge and kind hospitality. We got a chance to take a picture withe Aum (the chef - the lady behind those cuisines). In term of prices.....you got what you pay....with the price you pay....you got the authentic Thai taste & flavour, good ambience & atmosphere (feel like home) as well as polite hospitality for serving the food. Please hurry....you can get 20% off untill the end of month, should you pay cash.... If you go Downtown particularly Bloor area.....come, visit and feel their Thai Authentic Cuisine in the heart of Toronto. Vegetarian options: Many Parking: Many... Kid-friendliness: Tres bon
Went to the restaurant with my sister per a friends recommendations. Ordered Thai Iced Tea, Classic Green Payaya Salad, Hungry Noodles, Fried Fish with Sweet Chilli Sauce (medium spicy level), Pad Kana Moo Krob, and Mango Sticky Rice. Food was great and the service was wonderful and fast. My favorites were the Hungry Noodles and the fish. The mango sticky rice was very good too even though i am not much of a mango person. The additional fried mung beans on top of the dessert was a great addition. It gave it a different texture that is very nicely balance. The atmosphere was really nice too. Sat in the back patio area and it was so nice and breezy it did not feel like the hectic downtown area at all. Great place for a date too because everyone else there looked like couples. Would highly recommend giving the place a try. Just remember that the place serves Canadian Spicy and not Thai spicy but you can also ask the staff to make it spicier. Would definitely return to try out the other stuff o. The menu in the future.
Friendly service, delicious fresh food.
I ve been looking all over for these drunken noodles and they are so delicious here! Everything was delicious, the back patio has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating! When I m back in Toronto, i ll be back here!
Great little Thai place. Had the Shrimp Thai Green Curry and it was fantastic. Beautifuly seasoned
I really enjoyed the massaman curry. I ordered it two days last week and the piece of chicken was large and very juicy. It was a whole leg instead of chunks of chicken, which I really liked. The portion of curry sauce was a bit inconsistent between the two orders but I didn t mind as it filled me up both times and was delicious.
Delicious rice noodles with Thai sausage, crispy chicken skin and Thai iced tea. Portions are huge and there is also a 20% discount if paid in cash. There is also a mini front patio and a larger back patio as well.
lovely food & great service. loved the vermicelli with thai green curry and the mango sticky rice!
Great food , really loved the appetizer and the curry pad Thai .
The best Thai food weve ever had - it was so flavourful! The staff were super kind and helpful. The portions are big and the place is very affordable, too. We definitely wanna come back!
new and beautiful restaurant tucked away from busy bloor! the food was amazing and the presentation was sooo cute! staff is so calm and lovely :) me and my friends went so spontaneously and i m glad we did 100/10 would recommend
The kost unique Thai good I have ever had. Calamari was cooked perfectly. Dishes were flavorful with lots of spice
Very tasty dishes at affordable prices For more great eats around Toronto, check out and follow my feed @instantonium on Instagram Food : 5/5
The back patio is so pretty! The food is amazing! I am a Khao SOI kinda gal and its amazing here, my partners favourite is the Pas Sew-Eew and they make the noodles authentic here! Fried calamari is a great sharing appetizer. Been here a few times so photos are from different visits.
I randomly happened on this spot with a friend and it was just perfect. The service was super friendly and quick, food came out fast and was delicious, and the back patio is so nice to sit in. Try the Pad Ka-Prow with crispy pork and the signature Thai cocktail.
Sweet hidden new neighborhood spot with lovely service. Fun drinks and delicious foods
Great service and tasty food. What more could you want? Discount for paying on cash.
Incredible authentic thai and lovely people food is incredible
Found a hidden gem. Food is tasty and staff are very kind. Try Litchi mojito. Next time I will try the fish. It looked so delicious.
Friendliest service and OUTSTANDING food. We couldn t stop eating. Drunken noodles with crispy pork was a stand out on a table of winners. The back patio is charming.
Delicious food and great service
We just moved to the neighborhood and are self-admittedly quite picky about our Thai food. I was skeptical at first despite the reviews because you just never know! However, we were SO IMPRESSED! This place was much better than Pai (their quality has gone down lately), Paddler s, Imm Thai etc and I HIGHLY recommend it. It looks lowkey and the decor very much reminds of a bar you d find in Pattaya, but trust me, I arrived not very hungry and I was so impressed. We re so excited to have this spot in our neighborhood and we can t wait to make this our staple! Prices were SO reasonable compared to other places in the city as well.
Delicious food and beautiful patio. 10/10
Best Pad See Ew Ive had in years. It was so fresh and flavorful - i would bet the noodles were made in house (i wish I asked). I also had the thai iced tea and that was fantastic too. The back patio is cute and gets lots of sun and the service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be returning! Dietary restrictions: Asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. Parking: Lots of parking in surrounding side streets and there is a paid lot right next to it.
First off, welcome to the neighborhood! Thay bay Thai food was overall a great place to visit. It came recommended by my trainer and we were really happy with not only the look and feel of this spot but the quality of the food and the friendly service. The pork was cooked perfect, the sauces were on point and the Thai ice tea was a great surprise! We were also super lucky to be the only ones there when we visited so the relaxed vibe was really appreciated Overall, great time and I would recommend going! Oh, and the prices were awesome!
The food and service exceeded our expectations for our group of five. We all had an enjoyable dining experience.
This might be the most authentic Thai food in Toronto. The food is delicious and with great flavor. I tried the hunger noodles, the combo of the sausage and dried shrimp was amazing. Looking forward to trying the other menu items. The interior and the patio provide a nice atmosphere.
Amazing spot for authentic Thai food. The main course was so delicious. Can t wait to go again and try new items. Food : 5/5
We passed by this new Thai place a couple of times and eventually decided to try it out. The back patio is very cute and its a perfect spot for a date. I was feeling a bit adventurous and tried the fried fish with mango salad. The waitress kindly reminded me this is a whole fish with head and everything. I simply loved the fish with a kick of fish sauce. It was very delicious! I will definitely come back to try the other dishes.
The experience at THAY is truly exceptional. Relaxed, very tasty, and really really good. Definitely get the mango salad as it compliments all their dishes extremely well.
This place is quickly becoming one of our favourites! Tonight we had the hunger noodles and the fried chicken. Wow, delicious!
Chill and friendly restaurant for a weekend lunch. They have generous portion sizes. The pad Thai and red curry was seasoned nicely without being too spicy. Their Thai ice tea and fried chicken is a must try.
Excellent place and excellent food.
So, we were wandering around the neighborhood, feeling hungry and clueless. Saw some mouthwatering pics and reviews of Thay Bar, and thought, why not? Ordered 4 dishes on a whim, and boy, were we in for a treat! The fried chicken cartilage was spot on - crispy but not rock-hard. The fried fish with mango salad? Perfectly fried fish and a dressing that hit that sweet-sour spot just right. Chicken pad thai had this awesome tangy-sweet thing going on. And the Tom Yum soup? Big shrimp galore! Usually, we keep the bar low for first-timers, but Thay Bar soared above it. The staff was super friendly, and bonus points for being next to a Green P parking lot. Total win!
Good food, attentive service and fair pricing. Definitely recommended if you are around the area:)
Delicious food. Tom Yum is so flavourful. Good portions and very kind staff!
Really yummy chicken pad thai! Big servings and reasonable prices. Did not love the spring rolls but will definitely go back for the pad thai. We only got take out but the back patio looked stunning! Will be back for sure. Staff is also so sweet and friendly and the service was fast for take out:)
Very nice Thai place, food was great, back patio was gave a nice ambiance. Service was nice and quick! I got the khao soi and it tasted top notch. Would recommend their lychee soda . Would definitely come again! Prices arent too expensive too, considering how expensive toronto is. Parking: Green P right next to the restaurant
Their fried rice was amazing. Their pad Thai was too sweet, and the garlic chicken stir fry wasnt all that. But I would go back just for the fried rice. Even the picky eaters in my group loved jt
Very disappointed. I fell for the gimmick of Hunger Noodles and never again. I ve never even heard of it before nor watched the movie. Did not taste any dried shrimp or Thai sausage. What I tasted was overly sweet noodles and Chinese sausage. I detest Chinese sausage and if I knew that s what it was I would never have ordered that and plus you can buy a small pack for $6-$8 in Chinatown and cook it yourself and I d never do that either because it s gross. Overpriced noodles.
I like the food here and the service is good as well. I find the spicy level is a little too high for me. If you can handle it, definitely good. Food
Highly recommend this cozy spot! We dined in at the patio and it was a nice and chill spot on a weekday. Food & service are top notch and our waitress was very nice and knew the dishes.
A small and cozy Thai restaurant with a wide food selection! I got the Thai Style Papaya Salad Set and it was so refreshing and tasty! I was able to choose the spice level for my dish (mild, medium, or spicy), and I opted for spicy however I suggest to those who aren t good with spice to watch out since it definitely had a kick that builds :D The salad set came with fried chicken skin, shrimp chips, and vermicelli noodles, which were all really yummy. The plating of the dish was also nice and aesthetic :) Service was great and the restaurant interiors were nicely decorated and clean! Bonus points for the awesome Thai music ^_^
Yummy chicken pad thai! It was still good even after the Ubereats driver took forever to deliver it to us. So good that Im inspired to visit this place to dine in sometime.
Ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. Shrimp were super big, juicy and flavourful, Crab Rangoon were nice and crispy with a generous filling (nice garlic or onion hint too I found). Great value all in all and they seem to be good with special requests regarding allergies. Only thing I d change is more bean sprouts in the Pad Thai.
Delicious food that brings one to tears
Delicious food! The green curry is excellent. The staff are very cheerful and friendly. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: A fair variety of options for vegetarians.
Went here on a whim to get Thai food around Christie station. I was so surprised by the beautiful patio in the back! The food was so good , the pad see ew was great and the Thai ice tea was delicious . Will definitely come back!!
I had a wonderful experience, very relaxing, food was great, and I would highly recommend this business to others.
Every time I walk down Bloor I see their sign and finally decided to come in. I m very glad I did! I ordered the drunken noodles with crispy pork and enjoyed it a lot. So much flavour in every bite and a good amount of spiciness. The service from Pimu was amazing, and they quickly brought out our food and answered all our questions. Shoutout to the kitchen too for the amazing food and quick preparation. I ll definitely be coming back again!
Great food,service, and drinks.
Great food and great service! All the sauces were yummy and paired well with the food. I d come back again :) There s a patio in front of and inside the restaurant.
Foord is basic except probably more expensive than similiar tasting restaurants downtown. They expect us to give them tip when the overpriced food is not good and not even properly served (smtimes i would wait long time just for them to give me the bill). I used to come here regularly but the servers shamelessly asks for tips
They were friendly and the food tasted good.
Delicious food and very generous portion size as well. I was here during the summer and I wish Id sat out in their patio area as it seemed like a great space.
Pad Thai and drunken noodles were great. Portions could be a little bigger
Hunger noodles
Went here for lunch with my God children for lunch but could only sit on the front patio as the restaurant itself was not accessible for mobility challenged people. The food was good and portions were great but I would not eat in here again. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible at all
Amazing food! I loved the chicken pad Thai. Very cozy decor as well. Katie was an amazing server.
My friend, who is from Thailand, recommended this place. She said the food tastes like home. Food was amazing, service and atmosphere was excellent. Live music on Saturdays! Will absolutely be back!!
Stumbled across this place kind of by accident and glad we did. We both love Thai food and this place did not disappoint. Friendly service and greeted with a smile. Very tasty - Pad Thai came with vegetarian option of just tofu. Green curry sauce was tasty too! Vegetarian options: Just ask - they are very friendly. Pad Thai option was chicken or prawns, but I asked for just tofu and they gave me extra :)
Loved the tom yum soup!
Got uber eats their shrimp pad Thai and it was really dry did not really taste like a pad Thai but it did bring a lot which was nice
Great food and atmosphere.
Quality of food: 5/5 - crispy and tasty calamari for appetizer and the fried fish was made to order, hot, fresh, and very crispy. The sauces that were provided gave a nice acidic balance to the fatty fish Cleanliness: 4/5 - clean restaurant with washroom facilities downstairs Service: 5/5 - fantastic service, quick to take order Value for money: 5/5 - decently priced, considering the large portions this makes it a great value meal Recommendation: 5/5 - the setting of the restaurant is great for a date night. Lots of options but I would recommend the fried fish. It may take a little longer to prepare but it is served hot and fresh. This restaurant deserves a detour from your trip to visit.
Okay, here in Toronto there are a bunch of Thai restaurants that are DEFINITELY NOT THAI... That said...this place THAY is definitely Thai food and I just want to say...THANK YOU FOR THE YUMMY THAI FOOD
Went there after reading the reviews expecting the food to be amazing but it was a terrible experience. The to yum soup was cold and you can smell raw ingredients, didn t even cook it properly. Calamari was dry and had a smell that spoiled my appetite. I love calamari but this is the worst I have ever tried. The red curry was okay.
A bit of an overdue review - got to try out Thay Bar Thai when the weather was a bit warmer out, and the patio was still open (it might be despite the cold?) This spot is located on Euclid Avenue, inbetween Bathurst and Christie TTC stations on the bloor line, so taking into account a very short walk, this is very accessible via TTC. Its arguably part of Korea Town, but the food is clearly Thai with a modern twist. Some big recommendations our group tried first hand: The Seafood bucket. Prawns, calimari, corn, mussels all in a spicy Thai sauce! And the presentation was great, reminded me of a seafood boil. Pineapple Fried Rice - not just served in a pineapple but with actual pineapple pieces in it, along with shrimp and cashews. Pad Se-Ew, fresh thick/wide rice noodles stir fried with egg and chinese broccoli. Overall the staff were very attentive and great, asked before-hand about allergies and were very accommodating to our group. I dont remember the specific names of the cocktails we had, but if youre into sweet mixed drinks this is a great spot for an evening out.
Everything is perfect! Best place for pat thai!!!
Food is actually pretty good with decent portions.
food was super great!
