2768 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C 1L7, Canada
SHOLA Health Food Mart & VEGAN.I.THALI located at the corner of Danforth Ave. & Dawes Rd, offers a wide variety of delicious vegan dishes & groceries. We also feature Ethiopian & Caribbean coffee
Excellent food which fills you up and keeps you full hours after you eaten and just happens to be vegan. Coffee beans can be roasted right in front of you with the fantastic aromas during buna tetu Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Only one table to sit down and eat so you my have to have take out. Otherwise fantastic food and service.
Delicious, wholesome meal comes with 4 different dishes, all made to order. Feels like a caring family member preparing a special meal for her loved one. Each part of the meal was amazing, and very filling. Offered us a delicious authentic Ethiopian coffee to top it off, made and beans roasted in front of us. Exceptional!
Delicious vegan Ethiopian food! The woman running the shop was lovely, had us try her homemade tamarind and ginger juice and offered us coffee from beans she roasted herself. The food was great with large portions as well! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.
Very nourishing, wholesome, and authentic food. The owner was very kind and offered us some homemade bread and honey wine, as we were dining in at the small table in the shop. We ordered one thali plate each, and the portions were large enough to take half home! A very nice experience.
Amazing food—original and delicious! The lady prepares everything herself with top-quality ingredients. She even offered me soup, made coffee from original Ethiopian beans, and shared the story of coffee in Ethiopia and her shop. Definitely recommended!
This is a lovely establishment. Upon entering this establishment, we were greeted and then we looked over the menu. We then told staff what we wanted to order. Staff went in the back and prepared our order. Staff was fairly quick and efficient. Upon getting back to our place, we ate the food. All the food was good. My sisters and I particularly liked the Ethiopian split peas and greens. We also liked the plantains greatly. I would definitely recommend this establishment’s food!
Delicious vegan Ethiopian food I’ve ever had! The first time we came, we were painting a mural across the street & tried for the first time! It was so delicious we kept thinking about it for a year! We very far from here, but when we came back to the area we had to get this before leaving. Our favourite is the mac & cheese, bbq chunks & the corn soup! Love the owners 🤎 Support your local small business!
Excellent place. It's a grocery store and a restaurant. We love Ethiopian food in general and this place did not disappoint us. Plus it's vegan, so what else do you want? There's no dine-in, so you can get a takeaway. Not sure if the place delivers. We went for Vegan Roti Curry meal and savory Samosa. Both of them amazing. Samosa can use a bit less oil. The Curry meal is definitely recommended. Good enough for two people. The staff was great and friendly. There's street parking outside which is paid. Overall, highly recommended!
absolutely necessary to taste the flavours and service Alex serves up with the variety of delicious meals. a plant-base must try!!!
THANKSYOU
The owner is very sweet and the food is always incredible
Owner was very kind. Our vegan family of five enjoyed the food a lot! First stop in Canada! Loved okra and fish and chips.
Ordered UberEats from here. I ordered the injera thali plate. The food was absolutely delicious, even by the next day. My favourite part was the lentils. Highly recommend!
When you first step into Vegan/Thali, it seems like you are in a retail store or maybe a grocery store, but in fact it is a take out restaurant! We got the build your own meal which includes the Jerk Soy protein, rice and peas and mixed veg. On Sholis (the owner) recommendation we also got the Injera Plate. Everything was delicious and vegan! Sholi is also very experimental and is working on her own meat like products made from lentils that she had me try. I thought it was pork! Hoping shell open a west-end location so I can eat more of her delicious food! Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan! Parking: Ample paid street parking right outside the restaurant on Danforth
The food here is FULL of flavor and the owner is the sweetest women you ll meet. Very passionate about the food she makes! Highly recommend
Delicious food every time! Amazing selection of homemade, authentic vegan foods.
The food was great! The ital stew and curry chickpea complemented the rice, pea and veggies very well. The owner was so sweet and accomadating, would recommend checking them out!
Delicious healthy food and wonderful kind service
Still open at 2768 Danforth A lot of new healthy combo Ethiopian injera glutton free, variety of stews (tofu, mixed ) Great food and healthy tea and drinks. Kitffo-Vegan Kocho-Vegan Gommen-Vegan Shiro-red lentil potato and carrot
This is the best hole in the wall Ive ever been to. The food is amazing for takeout, but if youre lucky enough to get one of the 4 seats inside, do it.
Delicious, fresh and healthy comfort food. Friendly service. The atmosphere is very homey. 10/10 recommend
Ordered a few sides like the corn soup plantain and soy. All portions were filled up, reasonable price and sooooo delicious. Staff was very welcoming, blessings Good spot for grains, flours and ethiopian coffee. Will be a regular!!!
Originally mistook this pleasant little place as a sit down restaurant. My friend I were looking for vegan Ethiopian fare, but didnt realize that it was a take away outlet and mini grocery store . That did not matter, the kind woman who was looking after us that night, made room for us; make shift chairs and proceeded to prepare amazing food. She fed us freshly made items and that were very delicious. She prepared Ethiopian coffee. It was like being in someones home. I actually picked up a couple of grocery items (nutritional yeast for one). Overall, a surprise visit on a very cold January evening, but it worked out remarkably well. Hospitality was top notch. Thank you! Vegetarian options: Just go and visit. The grocery items along the wall will cater to almost every vegan or vegetarians needs. The place smells glorious. Nutritional yeast was/is great! Go in and someone will definitely help you. Dietary restrictions: If youre vegan, or lactose intolerant: no worries here! The servings are plentiful and delicious. No compromise on taste whatsoever.
We had the most amazing time at vegan thali!!! We tried the carrot cake and banana cake, they were delicious (not too sweet), loved them so much! The owner is a gem. She brought hot and fresh carrot ginger soup for us to try and didnt even charge for the same. Undoubtedly, the soup was awesome as well! Will definitely be returning back to try more things from the menu.
Just had the Rasta pasta with a side of teff and banana bread. Some of the best food I ve had. Alex (the owner) was very kind and patient when I asked for recommendations. It s a must try!
I had thali and chose 4 items from a large selection of delicious homemade vegetable stews and grains. The woman who works there was very helpful and kind. She gave me soup while I waited for my order
Amazing, authentic vegan food!
Amazing vegan food, great selection and friendly owner!!
My friend and I went for a walk along Danforth the other day, and I saw this place was vegan so I had to check it out. Nice little shop to look around in, and the staff were very friendly! We decided to get the plate with 4 options so we picked the macaroni pie, jerk tofu, kidney bean stew, and eggplant. The food was fresh and flavourful, and a lot of it was new to me! Never had macaroni pie before but I loved the flavour combination of whatever spices were in there (I definitely tasted some mustard and that brought it all together). The kidney beans had a creamy coconut milk sauce that balanced really well with the pie. The jerk soy was sweeter than I expected, but I loved it. My friend, who isn t vegan, said it was his favourite thing! I really enjoyed the variety of all the foods. The two ladies working there were very friendly and welcoming. We had a nice conversation with them while the food was being made, and they gave us some injera bread with an amazing sauce to try while we were waiting! I don t know what the sauce was because I m not too familiar with Ethiopian food, but it was red/orange, rich and flavourful. I don t live in the area, but I will find an excuse to be back!
Best corn soup!
Found a food treasure for high quality vegan delights in Danforth, Toronto. I was served by the owner, a Ethiopian great cook and host:she roasted coffee beans, brewed and served in the original and traditional way of Ethiopia!! After all the birthplace of the best coffee is Ethiopia!! The food, magic served with rolls of injera bread... Superb! 5 stars, Ill be back. I bought 2 pounds of coffee beans, Im enjoying now Vegetarian options: All vegan
The food that Alex prepares is amazing. The famous corn soup, Samosa, Garden salad, many more and drinks are so delicious with excellent customer service. I highly recommended any one from united states visits Canada, Toronto to stop by Shola Vegan I Thalia and try this quality food.
This is the Best place to get the corn soup .. with good customer service
This place is amazing!! Alex is the best! This is African Soul food. Real food with real ingredients that leaves you feeling full and nourished. They have authentic etheopian groceries, good quality authentic spices and traditional plant based health products that work like a charm. They have exceptional Etheopian coffee roasted right in front of you with home made bread! A must go!
Absolutely delicious! Nothing but healthy nutritious ingredients. This is feel good take out! Treat yourself, your mind and body deserves it! Vegetarian options: Vegan
You can enjoy Ethiopian vegan food that you dont usually get a chance to eat. This nutritious corn soup is perfect for winter.
WOW! Such an incredible and heartwarming place! The unique flavors in this mix of Jamaican, Ethiopian, and American soul food is like nothing I ve ever experienced under one roof, while the aromatic blend of frankincense and coffee literally roasted right there in the room was transcendent. The shop is packed with specialty items imported from Ethiopia and the owner is super generous with her knowledge about it all. Vegan I Thali, I tell you, is a special gem on Toronto s East End.
A humble storefront and very warm hospitality with maybe the best mixed Ethiopian veggie platter on ingera that Ive ever had. Quite honestly I was a bit suspicious at first, as it seemed more of a tiny store than eatery. Served on a plastic plate, each of the three veggie dishes were precisely seasoned and not overcooked as many dal and collard greens can be. The owner served us hot herbal tea and Ethiopian coffee, even heating up the whole beans in front of us. Vegetarian options: its all vegan
Amazing food with amazing people. Bless up!
Best Vegan restaurant in town I tried the Ethiopian dirkosh firfir wth spinach and chickpea fish stew it was delicious owner deserve five star!!
I had the macaroni pie and it was amazing, never knew vegan food could pack so much flavour. The owner Alex is also a very kind woman. Definitely coming back. Ps. This is the 2768 Danforth avenue.
One of the best places I ve eaten on Toronto. Great service. Thanks
Fantastic!!!
Food is delicious, good portions.
Really nice place
The food I ate;fir fir with kosta/spinach was delightful. And the customer service was magnificent.
Delicious food for a great price, and everything is 100% vegan!
The best place to get best food and natural healthy drink. Excellent customer service. Healthy Meal. Bon appetite
Came here a few weeks ago after I was told to watch my diet and was also curious about Ethiopian food. The only item I truly enjoyed was the corn soup. Looks like Im not an injera fan and some of the Thali dips werent to my liking. Heres why I would still go back.. The lady there was really nice and showed me a lot of products that are beneficial to good health. From the short time I was there a lot of regulars came in and its clear the store is a hub for the community. Another reason for me to return is to try the other menu items. There are some western dishes that theyve made vegetarian that Im sure Ill enjoy. Only one way to find out! We have a friend who is vegan coming to visit soon and I will definitely show them this place!
Absolutely love going here to pick up healthy vegan foodstuffs. The lady is so welcoming and always letting us sample a dish or special drink whenever we visit
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! I will come back
Shola makes the single best hot sauce Ive ever tried! Wonderful flavour and enough heat to notice, but not to hurt! 10/10!!!!
Super sweet aunty and delicious food!

Nice soups and very friendly staff!
Very traditional food Vegan ! Owner is welcoming & educated with products & traditional cook! Must try! 5 stars !
Organic food with medicinal properties. Good customer service.
Great food made with love! We usually order the Corn soup, Sheppards pie, jerk soy, perfect pumpkin, and a box of lentil patties to take home. On a hot day, a fresh coconut is perfect for cooling down! The store also has spices for sale - I highly recommend you try cooking with the Berbere spice blend
If you are concerned about your health and dont want to go to the hospital, dont eat here.
NO RESPECT PEOPLE!! NO GLOVES , NOT CLEAN!!!!!!!
The woman (owner) who came and greeted me was lovely and the sample corn soup I had was to die for!! I got a Thalia plate with assorted choices of proteins and I enjoyed EVERHTHING on the plate! Will definitely come again.
Amazing take-away vegan food, very generous portions and a very lovely owner! Also has a great selection of vegan and bulk products with focus on items from Ethiopia
We had Ethiopian injera with red lentils, kale, siljo, alcha it is delicious and healthy.
I found this gem by chance while walking along the Danforth and remembered that I had been wanting to pick up Berbere spice. To my surprise, this shop also sells Ethiopian groceries and takeout, including injera! A wonderful staff kindly offered tips for how I could store the injera and was appreciative of the support for local businesses. She gave such positive vibes that I will definitely return! Im glad to see that there are positive reviews and a website to share this shop with the community.
A very lovely spot w/a diverse and awesome menu. I love loved the Injera Thali Plate, it was super flavourful, nourishing, and authentic. And the staff are so kind and friendly. Such a gem!
the food is very good and authentic. will be going again
Best Ethiopia food and coffee mad with love. How I love this woman, she is the best. Go and visit her will fall in love with her and her welcoming
The best food and service experience. I ve never been to Ethiopia but this adorable lady made me feel like I ve just got a short getaway there. The corn soup is a must try dish!
Great coffee and food, thank you!
Awesome people, amazing food. Such a good part of the community.
This is a hidden gem . Delicious pineapple smoothie.
this place is amazing! Truly one of a kind from traditional Ethiopian coffee/ceremony to natural made in store pick me up including beet juice, seamoss, fenugreek and many more! Along with that are some of the best vegan Ethiopian Caribbean style dishes. You can also expect to get a healthier but just as tasty dessert as well.
Tasty. Pretty expensive. But the breads and macaroni are gluten free! And vegan meat options. Bit of a wait to get food. Got some tasty snackers in the store.
Amazing vegan food, drinks and service every time I come in! Food & pastries are fresh & delicious, & served with a smile by Alex
This place is AMAZING! Getting to drink coconut water out of a coconut made us feel like we were on vacation! Employees there made us feel like we were at home. Highly HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you visit!
Delicious food, kind and friendly manager :) the store was also filled with interesting Ethiopian goods. Will definitely be returning! Vegetarian options: Everything on the menu is vegan, which is amazing!
lovely experience <3 was super dehydrated and came in to grab some water, and was offered a fresh coconut drink instead. Really helpful and caring staff, will be back for sure.
Really welcoming store and restaurant with Caribbean and Ethiopian food. The grocery section has lots of cool products to check out (shea butter, Ethiopian decor, seeds and nuts etc) but unfortunately the food did not hit my sweet spot. The owner is friendly and relatively service was quick for takeaway. I had the chickpea roti and whilst the curry was okay the roti was very dry and generally the dish seemed overpriced. Perhaps I should have tried something else on the menu!
What a gem of a place you want Coconut water from a coconut the owner she will get you it from the coconut , and the Ethiopian food is the best in Toronto!!!
amazing food and service. we tried (for free) very new stuff and was absolutely mind blowing. the drinks are also insanely good!
Vegan Thali is amazing. Great vegan food, great prices and really nice owners. Dietary restrictions: Great for people looking for delicious vegan options
The food that Alex prepares is delicious. As soon as you walk in to her restaurant, you are struck with a feeling of peace and comfort. Something she also manages to infuse in her menu. Delicious food in a welcoming environment. Thankyou, Alex, for a welcome center in our neighborhood. Nadine Stoikoff
Amazing food
Tried the samosas and one of the veggie dishes and both were delicious. It was probably made on the spot with fresh ingredients cause it took some time. We also got offered a Turmeric Juice which was great. The prices were decent especially considering the high quality food and ingredients used. Dont expect fast food prices or quality. This is real food; nutritous, tasty and healthy.
Had a great experience to get some take out here. The woman at the front provided such great customer service and provided some healthy drink samples as I awaited my order. Definitely recommend anyone in the area to check this place out! Got some lovely incense here as well. Lots of variety at this establishment!
Excellent quality and very tasty food! Highly recommended Friendly staff and owner. Looking forward to going back
I went in there once to get a combo plate. Lentil lasagna, and two vegetable sides. I think it costs $22. Why??? Because it s vegan? Last time I checked vegetables and lentils were dirt cheap. I ll never go again.
Delicious!!
Excellent Corn soup, great place for vegans too
Really cant get over how flippin good this place is
Great vegan options large portions I ordered a barbecue soya plate as well as a medium corn soup and I was able to get three meals out of that The barbecue soya was on the salty side but the pumpkin was delicious that was my favorite and the corn soup is also delicious its thick and definitely is a meal on its own
Wonderful food and amazing people. Made with love.
The portion sizes and options are good. The food tasted good as well but I did find it overpriced which was the only short coming.
Great flavourful food! Love the mix of cultures in the food options. Feels like homemade cooking :)
The vegan food here is delicious and made with care. Service was amazing very genuine team. Thank you
Absolutely worth the experience. I enjoyed the great service, warm smiles, and fantastic food.
Exquisite food
You have good choice of food.
Service and food... so amazing! Love put into everything and you can taste it too will be back soon
Ntb.
Im so thankful that a place like this exists in our neighbourhood the people operating and working in the restaurant and storefronts are so humble so welcoming and Beautiful People. Honestly if I could afford a personal post 3-day I would say the culinary master and its restaurant would be my first choice thank you for the nutritious being healthy wonderful meal God bless
Very healthy food. I always have fresh coconut water, seamoss drink, all the fermented wine like beverages (barley based). I also buy their desserts and hot sauces and injera bread. They have healthy grocery items like spices, different African herbs, tigernuts and seeds and teas. The owner Alex is a sweetheart. We need to support more small businesses like these. They cater to giod health, environment and save the planet also generating intercontinental trade and opportunities.
The food is really tasty, fresh and healthy. So far Ive tried their injera plate, lentil stew, chickpeas, pumpkin and macaroni pie and each was so flavorful and nutritious. Its definitely worth it either for someone vegan or not.
Simply the best! Get anything, its all good.
I was in a rush to host dinner, so I called in and asked for a few of their popular dishes. They got the food ready very quickly and my guests were all impressed with the taste and quality. Thank you so much. I will come back.
The banana bread and carrot cakes were the driest Ive ever tasted. Small portion expensive price
First visit. We had expected a sit-down restaurant (which this is not) but takeaway was a good option too. Food was great and the service was warm and welcoming. We were given some samples of their 3 Bean Chili (it was excellent) and our Thali plates were well packed and full of flavour. The BBQ Soya was standout for me, as well as the stewed lentils.
Saw the sign about coffee it was four dollars but it was a good enjoyed the blend.
Service is pleasant. Corn soup is wonderful but this is my second time coming and they didnt put any of ther food in my soup. My friend got potato n dumplings n veggies... both times I got one piece of corn lol. She needs top make sure ppl are getting their moneys worth
Great take out spot. The lady who served me was really sweet and the food was yummy. I enjoyed everything. The jerk soy and Rasta pasta and famous corn soup were all exceptional.
Absolutely fantastic food. I went today for my first time and very happy I did. As a vegan it s difficult to find tasty food in the area. I will surely be back. :)
WOW WOW WOW!! Ordered for delivery and it s so incredibly delicious. This is my new favourite take out and I can t wait to order again. So much flavour. From a new plant based eater and a meat eater we both agree it s delicious!! 5 out of 5 from both of us. Thank you!
THE BEST VEGAN FOOD WEVE EVER HAD. My husband and I ordered takeout at Vegan Thali yesterday for supper and it was INCREDIBLE. We told the kind staff that it was our first time there and we were given corn soup to sample while we waited for our meals to be prepared! We ordered two Thali plates and injera to eat with our meal. I had the vegan macaroni pie, the curry chickpeas, the ital stew and the perfect pumpkin. My husband had the shepherds pie, saucy BBQ soya, ital stew and the green beans. Everything was delicious, and healthy. We even had leftovers for lunch the next day! We cant wait to go back and try everything on the menu. You gotta try this place! -Alyse and Cedric
My wife and I love this spot! We get the thali and share it - everything is so delicious and there s more than enough food for the two of us. We ve also recently been getting a box of 12 patties each time we go and they are amazing! Not easy to find vegan Jamaican patties, so we re super excited to have found these. We highly recommend Vegan I Thali!
Nice vibzzzzz! Even better food
Guys, everyone and anyone who has the need to eat to live, should visit this place. This is a one of a kind place and a real gem. So where do I start from. Let me start with the lil things. So lots of such exclusive-cuisine places, when you enter the joint you would see pictures of different cities and arts that are not relevant to the specific country where the cuisine is from. Not in this place. Its full of pictures and materials from Ethiopia. I love it. Cant visit Ethiopia? No problem. Just visit Vegan Thali. The joint is not a sit in and eat kinda place (for now). Its take out only. However their packaging is amazing and so is the quantity. The service and interaction with the customers is of top notch. They are very very polite. They wont leave a bad taste in your mouth after you interact with them and leave the place. Literally and metaphorically they wont. That awesome rasta dude (hope this sticks) comes out of the kitchen every once in a while and thanks the customers for their patience and cheers everyone up. Everytime he comes out, you are half expecting him to start singing a Bob Marley song (either no woman no cry looking at the grandmother at the cashiers desk. She goes into the kitchen everytime someone orders a fresh coconut water and asks him to cut the coconut for her. He obliges,or Three lil birds). Thank you Vegan Thali for your kind service. Food. Man this food is amazing. I found it rich and heavy. So this is what I ordered. Two large corn soups. An injera thali, rice and peas with chickpeas and eggplant thali and rice and peas with red beans and pumpkin and lentil thali and two fresh coconut juice. Overall $65 or $68(trust me, its worth it). Injera is like Dossa (from South Indian cuisine). Injera is a bit sour. But I like that taste and when you mix it with lentils or chickpeas or any other dish, it just does amazing things to your pallet. The other dishes are not very spicy or salty (salty could be subjective). The corn soups are a big hit and with good reasons. So overall guys, this is an amazing place and I sure am planning to go back there again and again and again and you get the point. I hope you will try it at least once. For your sake. Cheers.
Great Vegan food. Love this place.
Amazing, corn soup was on point even in the thick of the heat of summer. Also got a vegan thali and spirulina lemonade that filled 2 of us up. The line up was a bit long in the afternoon but the wait was worth it and the people are all friendly. Get the macaroni pie and jerk tofu in the thali, its something else
Really great vegan food! Get the corn soup!
Easy to get to, accessible store and cooked food area, pleasant and welcoming staff. The food is delicious, the portions are good, fresh food, open from 11am to 11pm 7 days a week! Must drop by for some KORN SOUP and some green mose drink with spirulina!!!
Incredible spot! The corn soup does not disappoint. Slowly eating my way through the menu and each dish seems to be better than the last!
The best soup I had . Gonna try their food soon.
Soup was bad
We loved our meal here! The corn soup is very yummy. We also got the Thali with coconut quinoa (yum), eggplant, ital stew -- and the jerk soya was INCREDIBLE, very flavorful. We also had some amazing samosas, super full of flavor and spices. We loved it all and will definitely be returning!
I know! I know! I got to explain my low ratings for this really hyped up place. I guess it all started with a starry eyed BlogTo review about the corn soup king. And quite honestly the corn soup is 5 stars. The problem with this business is the lack of organization. We tried to pickup our Saturday lunch from here around 1:30 pm and everything was not ready yet. They were still accepting orders on Ritual and out of the three orders we placed 2 were cancelled and the last one, well we had to wait 30 minutes outside the place while they suggested replacements for everything we ordered because the items on the order were not ready. There was disorganization and chaos everywhere and the food we finally got was, well, to be honest it was edible. It was not bad. But not bad isnt what you want right? All the must tries were unavailable, we ordered chicky nuggets, macaroni pie, fries with gravy, vegan patty and all those orders were cancelled or changed because of items not being ready yet at way past the beginning of lunchtime on a sunny Saturday. It was my first time trying this place and I dont have an incentive to try it again. Sure I might still pick up their corn soup, but thats about it
Friendly staff and amazing food!
Soup
Traveled 45 mins just to try the Corn Soup, worth the trip! So hearty and flavourful for being vegan. Definitely will be returning and recommending to others! Job well done
Ordered the Twice as Nice Peas and Rice plate with Jerk Soya, ital stew, and eggplant delight, plus a corn soup. The platter was really good, especially the soya jerk, the rice and eggplant. The soya jerk was so flavourful. The corn soup is on another level. Its very different from the Chinese-style corn soup that Im used to, but it was such a good flavour. It has a very pleasant campfire taste - difficult to describe, but it was really good and hearty. The dishes are a bit on the expensive side, but it was a special treat, and its a bonus that everything is fully vegan.
Really good vegan food.
The food is AMAZING! The service was beyond my expectations. The pineapple smoothie was so delicious, it made us dance on the streets. Even if youre not vegan, you should check them out! Try the coffee as well!
Really nice people, front cash and back staff. The food is ok, portions are good, not amazing. Some disarray but possibly due to covid. Ill cut them some slack. Corn soup was ok. Disappointed with the veg thali. Rather than two portions of chickpea, maybe some sweet potato or pumpkin. I assume they were running low and got creative. Not sure what the BBQ veg item was in there (tofu?) but it was amazing. Ill give them another chance. Always want to see good people do well.
100% THE BEST corn soup Ive had in my life! And Ive traveled to carribean countries! The coconut water served in a fresh young coconut was super refreshing and brought me back to life after waiting in the sun. There was a long wait in line but super worth it! Id line up again for food that clean, tasty and fresh! Real homemade good food! To top it off, the cook and the staff have incredible vibes! Super friendly, compassionate and accommodating! Its like being on a small island. They have that same hospitality. I LOVE this place and will drive again 30-40 mins just to eat there again!
The corn soup lives up the hype, the hospitality and positive vibes just wants you to keep coming back
Great Ethiopian tea and coffee. Aroma of tea and coffee was very refreshing.
I grabbed some Delicious Vegan Thali with their famous Corn Soup. It was AMAZING. especially that soup!!! No wonder it wins awards!!
Wow the corn soup is great! Plus the menu has lots of options to choose from. The owner is friendly definitely work the drive to visit. Inside the shop you can shop aswell. Try a yummy coconut water fresh or a juicy pineapple juiced and served daily.
Best corn and pumpkin soup ever! Chef/owner and staff very polite and professional!
Nope. Not good. Regretted my decision and will not be returning....soup thickened with cornstarch, maybe... Not authentic rice and peas, well not any Island Im familiar with... Jerk soy was maybe the best item.. And it was super salty... So overall...I threw out over $ 20 worth of food.... Mostly Im annoyed that I based my decision to visit based on reviews and the reviews are a lie..... So here is my take.
Delicious vegan food made with love. The jerk soy is out of this world, and I so appreciate the Ethiopian coffee! The smoothies are a wonderful summer treat, festively served in coconut shells or pineapple. Very generous portions for the thalis, with a nice selection of greens and veggies. Down home folks, and always a pleasure to stop by!
Service was phenomenal, great vibe and energy from the Ras. The music, the vibe and the setup outside and inside the store gives you that authentic Caribbean feel. Pineapple smoothie and coconut water was fresh and delicious. My daughter loved the vegan mac n cheese, I found the jerk chunks a bit too salty, mixed veggies were ok but food presentation was great. My visit was in July 2020.
Quite possibly the most beautifully flavourful food Ive ever had in takeout. The jerk tofu is incredible. All of our dishes were so good, fresh and beautifully tasteful and warm when we received them. This food was cooked with love. Its really so delicious. Thank you.
This place is awesome! Drove for an hour to try out the food and I d come back again for sure. The owners were honestly so kind and welcoming it made the whole experience that much better! Highly recommend the corn soup, plantain, dumpling and bbq soya. I m going to try the jerk soya next
We had the curry and roti, samosas, and corn soup and everything wase delicious!! The staff were very friendly and we were treated with kindness. 10/10 cant wait to try more of their food!!
As others have mentioned the corn soup is good but for me, its nothing special. $6.50 for a small soup? Veggie lentil patty is $3.50 each? Did veggie prices double in 2020? I can get a beef patty for a $1.25 and I know beef prices went up. This places is priced as if they were a high end restaurant downtown. Bolgto might have made you popular for the soup but I wont be back while your overcharging. Randys and Tinnels patties are better. Any Caribbean store making corn soup is just as good.
Super, Delicious food. Friendly people. I will definitely get take out from Vegan Thali again
Had a great experience yes experience. The owner has a juice fruit stand where he cuts the fresh fruit and hands you a fresh coconut with a straw and a umbrella in it. Soo refreshing. Thats just the beginning the inside of the store if inviting and full of vegan goodies. The real joy is at the back at the hot table the selection of vegan Caribbean food will blow your mind. The mac and cheese is my favorite thing right next to his world famous corn soup.. This place is a must try. P.S YOUR WELCOME I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY
Love the corn soup and popping in for some fried plantains and a coconut!
Amazing place! We called ahead for a staff party and brought our own tiffins, they filled everything and were so generous and kind. It was a wonderful experience that everyone enjoyed. Well be back for sure!
Just had one of the most amazing meals from Vegan Thali! Not too many vegan places around so we were happy to discover this place and decided to try it out. There is so much flavour packed in their food. The jerk soya, beans, corn soup, and lentil patty were stands out. We will definitely be back again soon!
Delicious and healthy, the dread is really cool. And the corn, please leave your momma at home because that soup is so good itll make you slap yo momma.
Cleanest restaurant in Toronto
Came here after watching a video online, I wasnt disappointed! The people who took my order and served me were extremely friendly! I was also surprised that they had Green Ethiopian coffee beans! I actually was able to be attended to by the corn soup king himself. I will be heading there again tomorrow, to pick up some corn soup, and some of that Ethiopian coffee! My only regret, is not ordering the larger size container for the soup, its pretty addicting!
That Ethiopian coffee was lit!! The traditional coffee which takes 10-15 minutes to prepare was insanely delicious. A different feel altogether!
Delicious takeout platter and the coffee was superb. Will be visiting again
Who said vegan food has to be boring? Absolutely LOVE IT! Food and service is amazing. Keep up the great work!!!

The corn soup is world class! Simply amazing!
Delicious food with the right amount of spices and flavours! Recommend the samosas and the make your own Thali Plate. The Jerk Soya and stewed Lentils were full of flavour!
How is food this delicious?! Everything is so flavourful and yummy. Add to this the lovely mix of Jamaican and Ethiopian food, and the friendliness of the owner, and this place is a real winner. Run, dont walk, to this establishment.
Great food. Really good portions and taste was awesome. The aroma of the spiced tea was great. Also enjoyed the jerk soy, rasta pasta, curry chickpeas & pumpkin!
So delicious! <3

The best vegan food I had in Toronto, with incredible hospitality. So much food for your dollar I dont think its possible to finish your meal and not be full. Couldnt recommend enough 10/10

Vegan shop. Super soup and coffee.
Great service, delicious, nutritious food! Blissings!
The owner was very sweet and food was tasty and filling. One plate was enough for me and a friend!
Very kind and hospitable staff. Was a really cold day, got corn soup and some chilli while I was waiting. Food was great and filling. Although a bit pricey. Would recommend.
Delightful and welcoming Ethiopian / Caribbean style vegan thali. They offer patties, injera, jerk, macaroni pie, and tons more. They ve also got green coffee beans and traditional Ethiopian coffee equipment. There s a little grocery store for hard to find Caribbean and African spices. We were greeted with a sample of delicious soup, and so much kindness and warmth! Definitely worth a stop
