We love Viet Chay! Every dish is amazing. They really make sure that everything is full of flavour, and they do an excellent job of creating textures that resemble the meats they are substituting. The restaurant itself is small and not super fancy, but it's very cozy and the service is wonderful so we always feel welcome and have an excellent meal. Whether we order takeout or eat in the restaurant, the food is always fresh and incredible. We will keep coming back to this place for as long as it's around!
Finally got to try this restaurant after having wanted to for quite a while. The bun bo hue, nuggets and spring rolls are very delicious! Prices are very reasonable so I can’t fathom why there would be any complaints. Will be back very soon!
I am a full blown carnivore and let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. Different dishes made with all sorts substitutes for meat, chicken , pork and seafood. Every bite was a delicious and the flavours were extraordinary. Vicky, the owner and operator, is a real gem and pleasure to talk to. She gave us an educational review of Vietnamese and Buddhist history. Real fun time. P.S. We also got a bubble gum flavoured ice cream for dessert and a Vietnamese cold coffee.
I'm not sure where the other reviews are coming from but seeing that many high ratings, I had to try this place. The problem is, there's not much to desire. First of all, the prices are not exactly great, for example, the spring rolls cost $8 for 2 rolls but they are no bigger than an Oscar Mayer wiener. The taste didn't fair well either, when the kid doesn't even like it you know that's not normal and we thought maybe it was pepper or something. It was just the texture was very powdery. Being a vegan restaurant you would expect they would know if their food is vegan. Their vegan noodles, of course you'd expect no eggs, but an imitation for the dish. The owner confirmed there's no eggs in their dish, but they said there's no guarantee the supplies of the noodles doesn't use eggs. What??? We went late evening around 7pm, and while selecting the dishes for take out, what seems to be the owner (she was giving commands to others). I always felt a presence of rushing me to make my order, kept saying how it's time to order, and people will be the arriving soon so they would be too busy. We spent half an hour there, not another customer came in, and seeing as the place closes at 8:30pm, there is no way it would get too 'busy'. Another thing about the prices, you don't even know the prices, it's not in the menu! You have to ask each dish individually, and it'll be whatever number they tell you. Maybe that's dynamic pricing, changes on the mood of the cashier. Topping it all off, when paying for take-out the first screen is to add tips. This is take out.

I only had a banh mi with tofu but it was excellent . I'm very curious how their faux lobster tastes . I've had some fine vegan meals in HCMC where the faux meats were almost indistinguishable from meats. I guess these guys are using those same tofu and mushroom products. Enjoyable meal and jolly staff . I was disturbed to hear that I look like a vegan.
I recently dined at Overall Vietnamese Vegan Restaurant in Toronto, and it has quickly become my new favorite vegan spot. Their vegan Bun Bo Hue is exceptional, standing out as the best I've tasted in the city. Additionally, the restaurant's thoughtful touch of providing a bottle of water instead of cups was a delightful surprise. I am thoroughly impressed and look forward to returning soon.
I’m not vegan, BUT the food was delicious. 🤤 We got their recommended dishes and each one did not disappoint! The flavours were swimming and the portions were just right. The owner was also very friendly and hospitable, and I hope her restaurant continues to thrive for a long time. 😊

Exceptional Dining Experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant yet comfortable, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed.
It was very good but very oily. The owner was very nice but extremely present. Unfortunately, the Customer choice recommanded by her was not our taste at all. Nice place but not 5 stars
We stopped here for the first time and loved it! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was extremely tasty--we had two different types of pho as well as the chicken Vietnamese sandwich.

To be honest, I came to try this place because of the positive reviews. However, the experience was shocking. I mistakenly thought the door near the hall was the restroom and opened it to take a look. A server rushed over, loudly and repeatedly shouting OMG in front of other guests, and scolded me for at least three minutes despite our explanation. The white door had no signage indicating otherwise, yet the staff refused to listen. This is the first time I ve been treated like this in a restaurant. It was so upsetting that we left immediately without eating. To make it worse, the server blamed us entirely and showed no hint of an apology. If it were possible, I d give zero stars instead of one.
Amazing ! VIKCY IS The best and super talents. I dont know why there were some complaints about this Restaurant. Among of them They are none vegan & none Vegetarian people. May there were not contained meat on food so that why food were not tasty for them. All positive reviews I came through They were fantastic for Viet Chay. The best I had ever before . Thank you Vicky for fantastic talents and hard working on all items on the menu. I can tell how hard she could do. If She doesnt have compassion with animal. She could not do this job by herself. Any bad reviews from guilty people. Should be look back before giving any 1 star for Viet Chay. Vegetarian options: All food is vegan and vegetarian. There are more options. Different tastes . Vicky is third generation in her family to make vegan at the buddha . Parking: There are many pots in front door. You may park other sides building (across street) and take a few steps to Viet Chay. This location is convenient.

Came because of the 5 star reviews. Server was nice, gave us bottled waters to drink. Food was alright, I enjoyed the spring rolls but it was 2 for $8 which was a little much for me. Banh Mi was also fine, my partner did not really like it at all. I rated 5 stars when I came, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth even days later & I want to come back to write another honest review. Owner came out & told myself & my partner that construction ruined their buisness & she doesn t know what to do. She has no money & shes so sad. Fair & I felt bad. She then begged us to leave a 5 star review & proceeded to watch us eat our meal & continued to complain while we tried to eat. Made comments on my partners appearance & what they should change. It made the experience uncomfortable & awkward as I thought it would be a quick chat but turned into being stared at & quite frankly bothered the whole time. I truly feel like majority of the 5 star reviews are given because other people feel bad & were told to leave one, just like I was. Honestly, the food was mid. I would not come back or recommend to anyone I know. People like myself rely on Google reviews to make informed decisions about restaurants & I was definitely disappointed. To the owner, you mentioned to us that people want to ruin your buisness & lie by leaving 1 star reviews, but they are honestly all true. I wish you the best.
Absolutely excellent! This was one of the best food experiences I ve had. Vicky was an absolutely amazing server and their recommendations were unbelievable. Highlights were Lobster rolls, Bbq Banh mi, spicy Pho, Pho, pad Thai, spring roll, king mushroom, duck BBq, Papaya salad. Tomyum soup so tasty I have not had before soooooooooooooooo good. Our family was happy. Viet Chay is small restaurant but cozy. Vicky is very good chef and welcoming us. The food tasted even better! Everything Overthrow Hospitality does is such an amazing experience Vegetarian options: Very good food, fresh without MSG. Parking: Easy for parking. Customers can park opposite the building or left side , right side behind building and take a few steps.

Based on all the positive reviews, I decided to visit Viet Chay Vegan Cuisine to see for myself. I went during off-peak hours and had the pleasure of chatting with the owner. She was incredibly friendly and passionate about the food she makes. I asked her to surprise me with a noodle soup, and she absolutely nailed it it was delicious!!!!!!!! While the parking situation wasnt ideal, the overall experience more than made up for it. I highly recommend this place and cant wait to return! I am Vietnamese and to be honest, this is the worst vegetarian place I ever had. Too much MSG in food, make me headache 2 hours after eating and the headache still maintains the morning after. They put MSG so much in every food they cooked. To be honest, I will not come here second time.

Restaurant is very cute looking, very clean and the food is very good and fresh. The host Vicky is very pleasant and knowledgeable on the food that was presented, even though Im not vegan she was patient and explained what I was looking for and what I should have to eat. Very good , and looking to come back and have more vegan sandwichs and try other items, Im glad that they dont use MSG.
We were recomended Viet Chay Cuisine by my vegan brother Nicola. We were very surprised at the quality of food, the cleanness of the restaurant and the welcoming and humbleness of Vicky. The best thing is the vegan food at Viet Chay Cuisine is authentic and it does NOT contain MSG.
They have the best Vietnamese iced coffee in town. I ve tried a lot! Very affordable also and vegan food is amazing!! The lady that owns it is very friendly
Terrible customer service. Rude and lying. I am vegetarian who was happy to come here to try their food for the first time but I left with bad mood. Never come back again. Food is full of oil and the owner is not friendly at all, even when they know we are new customers. You need to improve your business skills; your food is not that excellent to be that rude to new customers.

Food was delicious! Several dishes were recommended to me and they didnt disappoint, I chose the spring rolls and Singapore noodles. The owner was lovely and extremely accommodating, we had a great chat. Its clear that she has a kind heart and truly wants to help others experience tasty vegan food and incorporate it into their lives.

I recently dined at Viet Chay and loved it. The Vegan pho was spectacular. The broth was hearty and the bowl was filling. Eat all of the spring rolls. It s a family affair. This restaurant will not disappoint. Service is immaculate and the smiles will brighten up your day! Very clean. Staff are friendly and professional! Take out is great.

The steamed duck noodles from Ms. Van (Vicky) at Viet Chay restaurant are so delicious. When asked, I found out that she is of Tieu origin, which is why she can cook so well. Vicky s braised duck noodles at Viet Chay restaurant were incredibly delicious. I found out that she is of Teochew origin, which explains why her cooking is so good.
Very authentic Vietnamese taste! Were not vegetarian but enjoyed the Pad Thai and meat soup a lot. Highly recommended!!

Didn t want to comments abt the restaurant- but after talking to someone there- Im so disappointed.. Cost me 25$ for these- the rolls just had lettuce and ham- which not what I was asking for.. And the noodle not even full container- I fell like I did have some left over of someone dishes.. stired fried noodle and the veggies still raw..?? To go no untencils- so I have to go the store buy me a chop sticks very bad services Wwooooossstt vegan restaurant I ve ever been..!!

Everything is delicious! The staff are friendly and helpful with navigating their large menu. I had the pad Thai and the vegan BBQ sandwich and they did not disappoint. Looking forward to the cooler weather so I can try the large variety of soups that they offer.

I usually go for meat but was out with a vegetarian and this popped up as an option. We went to try this and it was amazing. The staff were so friendly and the owner gave us some unique and delicious extra things to try. I highly recommend and will come back for sure.

The veggie Pho is amazing!
Simple, small restaurant with nice decor and a great vegan menu! We havent had vegan Vietnamese food before but it was a treat. Noodles were well-made and not too oily, generous amounts of fake meat. Friendly service as well! Vegetarian options: Its all vegan.

I tried the mushroom congee and it was so good! I also got the fried mushrooms and bang mi to go, which were both delicious. I really recommend this vegan place, its great even for the non vegan! Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegetarian, which can be a bit overwhelming if youre not used to having that many options.
Best vegan Pho I have had, and the crispy king oyster mushroom nuggets are a delight. Just had the mixed congee and the fresh ginger in it lifted the taste to the stars.
Everything we had was absolutely delicious, the owner was super nice and spoke to my family about her life, 10/10 would go back again.
