1504 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4J 1N4, Canada
The dreamiest Coffee Shop and restaurant located in the East-end Toronto, offering Venezuelan arepas, empanadas, specialty coffee, cocktails, healthy smoothies, and other Latin-American dishes and treats.
Tried all of the arepas and the portion sizes make the price reasonable, however the arepas themselves were bland. The veggie options were the best, the beef and pork were dry, the chicken tasted like a chicken mayo sandwich. Really disappointing given the price point. Hopefully just a bad day, but I wouldn’t go back.
Stopped in for lunch and so happy we did. The shrimp ceviche was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. We also ordered the Reina arepas and pork empanadas. Loved having so many gluten free options! Lattes were also amazing. Great service and cozy vibe. We will definitely be back soon!
Wow this place blew my mind how good it was. The regular sized breakfast arepa was outstanding! Those flavors and the soft texture of the filling was outrageously good! The sous vide chicken arepa (Reina) was, O.M.G. For dessert, you MUST have the Tres Leches Cake. I could drink this cake is how good it was. Service was friendly and on-point. Bookmarked this spot as a few favorite!
Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Good ambiance, and they hv a tiny patio in the front but ample seating in the back. Staff is friendly and almost attentive. We ordered the pork with pickled watermelon arepa, and hibiscus & cauliflower arepa. The vegetarian arepa was good but the pork one was very soupy, and we had to get a change of plates as the liquid poured all over the plate and broke the bread. It was tasty but wud hv preferred more pickled watermelon to balance the flavours. Espresso was alright - machine needs better cleaning. A tad expensive in terms of value for money.
Such a great vibe and atmosphere at this little cafe - I love coming here for an afternoon pick me up or for lunch. Great selection of sweet treats and creative drink options. The meal options are also on point and pricing is very reasonable. They have a great indoor seating area and also a cute little patio outside. Service is amazing and always very friendly. My favorites are the empanadas, arepas, smoothies, hot chocolate, cookies and of course the Maria Luisa cake!
Nice (modern?) Venezuelan place near Coxwell station. Main food items are their arepas with a variety of fillings and empanadas. And of course coffees Had a great brunch with breakfast (scrambled egg) arepas, pork Carnitas, and a guava/cheese empanada. The eggs were amazing - very tender and flavourful. The pork was a bit on the drier side. The guava cheese empanada was very good. The guava was jammy and went well with cheese Also tried a cold horchata latte which was great.
My wife and I visited this place for lunch as it caught our eye while we were walking from the TTC Coxwell Subway station. We had never had Venezuelan food and decided to give it a try and boy…… We are so very happy we did. The restaurant looks great and has a relaxed atmosphere that made us feel very welcome. The staff was friendly and helpful in helping us understand the items on the Menu. We both decided to enjoy some Arepas, something both had never had before. My Wife had the La culpa es de la vaca (Pulled Beef) and the flavor of the beef was amazing and the toppings were the perfect complement to the meat, the balance was dead on. I had the Reina (Sous-vide chicken) that was so tasty. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the flavors infused were just fantastic. We both were blown away with the quality and care put into this food. We also had a couple of their Empanadas. My wife had the Chuleta Empanada (Smoked pork shoulder) and I had the Beef Empanada and both were great. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. They also supplied us with some sauces that just added to the whole meal, just making the whole experience even better. The last thing we had were some Churros. My Wife loves Churros and said these were some of the best she had. In conclusion, if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a nice place to eat, you can’t go wrong with eating here. We both loved the food and the place and fully plan on coming back.
Our brunch at Pomarosa Cafe was a true delight. The staff's warmth and patience in helping us choose dishes made us feel welcome. The regular size Arepa and La Cupla were both delicious, showcasing the kitchen's expertise. The open kitchen concept added a personal touch, with chefs laughing and chatting. The cozy interior design created a charming atmosphere, making us feel like guests in a friend's house. To top it off, the hot chocolate with marshmallows was the most amazing one I have ever had. Its rich and velvety texture, combined with perfectly melted marshmallows, elevated the entire dining experience. Looking forward to our next visit – highly recommended for a delightful brunch, complete with unforgettable treats. ♨️🍫🔥
Such a great little spot. Stopped in to grab some empanada to go. Chicken was by far the best one! Didnt sit in, but the seating area looked cute.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere
Delicious and filling food! It was our first time there and won t be our last. We found it to be a comfortable spot with a friendly and helpful service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, vegan options
Delicious lattes and arepas. Price of arepas is reasonable for the generous portions of meat, etc. Food
Arepa was delicious! loved the baby version, just the perfect amount I needed for a tasty snack. Will come back for a meal next time!
Absolutely delicious snacks and drinks in a lovely setting. The staff are super sweet and helpful, and forgiving of poor Spanish. Do not miss the tequenos, they are worth the trip alone.
I enjoyed eating here, the decor was fun and inviting, the empanadas were delicious, and we loved the Hot Choc with Marshmallows and the service was great. It was Id recommend you visit this place if youre on Danforth by Coxwell. Parking: Easily accessible by bike, bike rings nearby.
Love love love the food here! Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF options Food : 5/5 |
The arepa is soooo yummm - pickled watermelon in pork??? Damnnnnn divine
The food was good but insanely overpriced and the place seems so neglected. The tables were sticky, the music with the awkward pink decor were clashing, the pink cushion chairs all had stains, and the service was friendly but inefficient. If you come from the service industry you won t be happy dining here, but maybe consider takeout if you re craving arepas and don t mind spending a bit.
Great service, polite staff who listen to their customers. I recommend!
It has good espresso coffee and typical Venezuelan foods, such as arepas. Very attentive and friendly staff!
Our third time dining here and the food and service dont disappoint. Their arepas are very tasty and filling, and you can feel good that its healthy as well!
This is one of those places when you stand in it even for five seconds your whole clothing will smell like oil, that was my first negative. 10 minute wait for empanada. Too expensive Food : 2/5
Great recommendation by the host with what to get for lunch. A real treat and so much flavour. I wish I could have taken some home.
Delicious food and great service. Very family friendly! Kid-friendliness: Great kids meal option! Food : 5/5 |
Delicious Venezuelan food! Highly recommend
Very cute little spot!
Sad to see greed get to what were once quality spots to eat at in Toronto. I watched prices get higher every time I checked out their menu, and did once adore their guava and cheese empanadas. Now you get a mouthful of air pockets when they used to be bursting with guava and cheese. For the price now, theyre no longer worth it. There are other gems with quality versions for a fraction of the price.
Love the carnitas arepas. Pro tip. Eat it there because the crunch makes all the difference. Lovely hosts, great tunes, good beer... No need to take away if you dont have to.
The interior is so beautiful and has lots of nice seating available. Food and coffee is incredible, and the staff are wonderful!
Food was so yummy along with the drinks! Lots of tables inside, but they also do takeout if youre in a rush. Loved that they had snacks and packages of food to go and cook at home. I recommend the Flores Arepas
I went to this place because I saw online that they offered guava & cheese empanadas. When I got there, I was told that they only sell empanadas in 5-piece orders, which was very disappointing since I only wanted 1 or 2 for myself. Also, they dont allow you to mix the empanadas, so you gotta get all 5 of the same filling. I ended up ordering the arepa flight (pork carnitas, reina, and reina de camaron), but none of the fillings stood out for me. I dont recommend this place if you want something for yourself since their menu is made for sharing, as the waiter stated.
Best service and food You can also have your laptop and work there!
Cute atmosphere, tasty espresso and soft serve with coconut and mango was great. Next time I want to try the Tres Leches Cake!
The waitress never checked on us but the food was delicious
great food great service ! Dietary restrictions: gluten free dairy free options Food : 5/5 |
Dietary restrictions: Great gluten-free options Food
Love this place. Super cute little shop. Discovered it many years ago but never wrote a review. Wish it was closer to me. They have scrumptious foods. Must be eaten immediately. I usually buy for other people and they love it! There are some gluten free and dairy free options as well- you have to ask. Staff are very patient and helpful to help find something gf and df for me to order. Tahini brownies are . THANK YOU!!! Dietary restrictions: Ask staff about the gluten and dairy free options.
Great tea and Latin food. Adrian is welcoming.
Food is delicious! Loads of GF options. Makes me feel like Im not in Toronto!
The spicy hot chocolate with marshmellow it s the best I ever had in life. Warms my soul during cold weather. Thank you!! Highly recommended!
Great food and ambiance! We had the guava scone and the pork carnita arepa. Delicious! It is totally worth it.
Great friendly service, order in and sit out or they come to their patio to take your order. Parking here is determined by the street or residential areas, so it can be a walk to the spot. We enjoyed our meal, but the drink felt very subtle in flavor/taste in comparison to others weve tried.
A surprising find on the Danforth. What appears to be another coffee shop in the neighborhood turns out to be a Venezuelan sandwich shop. They have coffee too. Arepas which are small pocket sandwiches ; bread made fresh for each on the grill, and empanadas are well represented on the menu. A nice variety of each. Veggie options too. Ceviche too. We had 2 different arepas, and both were very good. One pork and one veg. Served with two salsas. The server was pleasant and the food arrived fresh and hot. A fun selection of soft drinks from South America are offered. I didnt notice if they were LLBO. Even a small bodega up front with frozen take away foods, drinks and treats. Two people paid about $50 for a lite lunch. So, kind of pricey for a snack, but more or less on par with a lot of other sit down service places. Check it out! Vegetarian options: Both arepas and empanadas
The smoothies are delivious and the food is very flavourful and fresh. Decent vegan options here as well.
Wonderful food and warm, kind service. Love this place
Had a business meeting over arepas on the patio; would recommend.
Vegetarian options: They offer a variety of vegetarian food. Very impressive! Food
Great place for lunch, it can get busy and they don t have extra staff serving tables but there s more people cooking. If you re in a time crunch just call ahead. Food was delicious had the It s not the cows Fault arepa it was super delicious and filling. Beef Empanadas were delicious too. Don t be shy on using that garlic parsley sauce it s makes the arepa better. Passion fruit drink was refreshing. Super fresh, great atmosphere and great food.
Great little cafe on the Danforth. Kind staff, delicious menu. Dine in (table service, pay at inner counter) or take away (front counter service). Nice workspace when its not crowded during the day on weekdays. Wouldnt recommend parties greater than 4. They have a little outdoor seating in the summers. The Horchata latte is AMAZING!! Highly recommended. I love horchata snd dont find it in many places. This is the first and only time Ive seen/had one and it certainly wont be the last!! The breakfast arepa is HUGE and incredibly filling. Delicious as well. Both sauces (spicy & sassy and garlicky glory) were very tasty too! Im a medium spicy person and the spicy one was perfect. You can definitely add more or less to your tastes. Its a very large and messy pocket of awesome. I ate most of it with a fork. If you want to eat with your hands for the full experience, I recommended napkins on standby and eating over the plate. Im a sucker for alfajores! Also delicious here too.
The empanadas were so good that I didn t get a photo, but it s worth coming back even just for that. Overall the food and service are good.
Cute pastel furnishings and delicious black bean arepa
Milk Roses!
Excellent service and great great food
Gluten-Free Options: Yes, many Cross Contamination: low Halal/ Kosher Options: No Vegan Option: Yes Vegetarian Options: Yes Nut-Free Options: Yes First Impression: Not your typical Venezuelan restaurant. The design/decor is very feminine and fits in with Torontos aesthetics. Favourite: The pabellón arepa was my favourite. The meat was seasoned well and the plantains were cooked to perfection. Critiques: The value for product doesn t match. I was also disappointed with the portions, especially the empanadas. Bonus: They are also a cafe so you can get your coffee here. In addition, they have frozen empanadas and you can take them home and make them fresh at home. Take Away: It s a great place to try but believe they either need to increase their portions or lower their prices. Follow on tiktok: @eatwithbuns
Absolutely charming spot. Only had a small sample of the menu but it was divine. Staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going again. Accessibility notes, narrow entrance area, washroom downstairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility notes: narrow entrance area, washrooms downstairs.
I love this place!
Beautiful decor, delicious food, creative yummy smoothies, great coffee and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?! One of the best gems on Danforth for sure. Lucky to have them in our hood. Dietary restrictions: Vegan options Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment
A cute cafe with a beautiful ambiance and a wide variety of items to try! I ve been here a couple of times now and they never disappoint! The horchata latte (you can get it hot or iced) is a must try and I highly recommend any of their empanadas. Service there is also very friendly and helpful which makes the overall experience much better! Definitely give them a visit!
Great arepas, coffee drinks, service and atmosphere. Good for kids, meet ups, a date, or solo
Beautiful cozy café with a a pink garden aesthetic. The food is amazing, you can t go wrong with whatever you choose. the drinks are also super beautiful and delicious. The people working there really complete the vibe since they re friendly and welcoming. Excited to go back for their patio season!
Amazing food and drinks. Attentive personnel. Great place.
We were very impressed by our experience here! From the outside, it looks like a regular Cafe, but inside, the decor was a delightful pink dream! I had the small shark empanada and the pork carnitas arepas and my girfriend had the vegan pabellon. Both were delicious and filling. We shared some awesome vegan dulce de Leche churros for dessert. Dietary restrictions: Awesome vegan options!
Wonderful bakeries and wonderful staff highly recommended for Portuguese for desserts
I used to like this place, but service has gone down. Food is tasty and high quality. I was disappointed the last time I was there because my food never got to the table. The music is too loud, can hardly have a conversation.
I took my 10 month old daughter for lunch at Pomarosa and we absolutely loved it. They offer a baby/toddler meal that was perfect for my daughter. The food, service & atmosphere is fantastic. Would highly recommended:)
Excellent arepas, service could be improved. Excellent arepas, very good seasoning
Beautiful place to eat really good arepas rellenas. The service and food were great! Wish we were closer to go more often. Also, what surprised me the most is how detailed they are with serving little ones, from menus options to plates and cutlery. Thank you, I have never felt more welcomed with my toddler at a restaurant.
The arepas are made fresh and they were SO soft and flavourful. Truly delicious! The seating area was very clean and had a warm aesthetic. Staff was very friendly too.
This is a cute hidden place. Atomsphere was awesome with hanging live plants off their roof. Our server was awesome We each ordered a sandwich. I find the portion very small. And for $15+ sandwich, i am sure it won t fill a hungry person. The sandwiches were also very messy and dripping juices everywhere and ultimately, we all felt that the bun was too small and crumbled with the amount of meat they stuffed in portion. I think separating it into 2 smaller sandwiches would make more sense. Thankfully we weren t wearing anything fancy, but everyone had a hand full of juices and that just was just messy
This is one of the hidden gems around town. Their dedication to provide a great customer experience is my favorite part of this place. Coffee and cookies were delicious
The food was good (expensive though) and the staff was not welcoming at all. Quite disappointing. overall it was worth it to visit but the staff could try being friendlier.
Lovely little place. We had Arepas (cornmeal sandwiches). A breakfast one, really great combination of flavours. And a pabellon vegan: this one had again great flavours but maybe less beans and more avocado next time. Great coffees. Even the turmeric latte was a hit. And it was nice hearing Spanish talked (and sang) by the staff (the chef was definitely singing very well!).
Arriving in Toronto to recreate and enjoy the flavors of Venezuela and Colombia in an empanada, cheese finger and any stuffed arepa is feeding the soul. Nelly and great place. You feel the love in the kitchen and those who pleasantly serve.
Great restaurant in the area, especially if you have young kids, they re very accommodating. Veggie arepas are excellent.
This was a wonderful venue. The staff were super welcoming, friendly and helpful with our questions. As both my companion and I had travelled in other parts of South America, we were familiar with some of the menu items to a point but not familiar with the Venezuelan specialties or dishes. We asked what was popular and chose our dishes based on a combo of the menu description and the popularity of the items. Everything we ordered was a delight! The empanadas were delish. The Pabellon Arepas were big and messy and lovely. The Horchata Latte (vegan) was surprisingly tasty despite having a soy milk base. Im probably biased to give them kudos on the soy latte because Ive failed repeatedly in my kitchen to use soy milk as a equivalent substitute for steamed milk lattes. Definitely gonna go back and definitely recommend.
Best arepa I ve ever had and one of the best spots for delicious gluten-free options. One of those places that you wish you could order everything on the menu. Highly recommend the pork carnitas arepa. Guava and cheese empanada was also delicious! Dietary restrictions: So many gluten free options, I was so impressed!
The waitress was nice and the atmosphere was great. We are not going back because of poor value of money. For a $10 dish of yucca frita, we got 9 pieces of yuka fries the size of my forefinger. Yucca is cheap ($1.49/lb in No Frills) and I dont understand why they cant offer more yucca fries. Main menu items were disappointing - they are all sandwiches for more than $15 each. We were expecting a plate of food. For 4 people we spent $120 for 2 Mexican pop drinks, 1 yucca fries, and 4 sandwiches. Maybe some people dont mind it, its not for us. We want value for our money.
Drove 20 min just to find out that they closed early but didn t update their hours.
Gluten free dream! Soooo many gluten free options for both savoury and sweet items. Amazing lattes. And excellent staff! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
I know that the ingredients are expensive, but for an arepa of $17 dollars + taxes and having just Jumm cheese spread on you what really made the filling of the arepa were beans.
We are obsessed with this place! The Arepas are huge and delicious! The homemade sauces are incredible as well. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, Dairy free
Wow! I was so impressed with the hospitality and food here, I met a friend here for lunch with my son and I felt so welcome upon entering. Kind staff and family friendly place. Food was SO good, I love love loved how they had a kids option and how they brought his meal on an ezpz plate. So thoughtful- can t wait to return with my husband. Didn t even get a chance to take a pic of my food and drink - I had the jaimaica (hibiscus) water - so good!! Beautiful space. Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs and plenty of space for stroller at the front Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the entrance
Absolutely lovely family-run spot with fantastic food.
This is lovely spot for brunch in the Danforth. Ordered the mocha and chicken empanada - both very yummy!! A bit pricy for what it was but the atmosphere is a vibe.
I love all the food from Pomarosa, 100 % recommended.
BEST AREPAS IN TOWN! Services is incredible, the vibe is immaculate and the food is honestly mouthwatering. If I could give it more stars I would.
Extremely delicious and filling arepas in a nice restaurant with friendly staff. Im very glad that I decided to stop into this place and will definitely be back. Only complaint would be that the food is a little messy so be careful when eating. But the taste more than makes up for any spills.
I went there with a couple of friends last weekend and we all loved this restaurant. Their arepas are absolutely delicious, the best I ve ever tasted. I tried both the pulled pork and pulled beef, both tasted great. I ve also tried the guava and cheese scone and the chuleta empanada, which I also loved. The empanadas seem to be made of corn flour, which makes it different from the traditional ones. They also have some frozen scones and empanadas - I m definitely considering buying in my next visit - and a wide range of corn flours.
Food was ok but I had to literally beg for water. Every person on our table had to, while tables around us were getting water delivered to their table as they took their seat. So after 30mins of sitting down we actually ask for water and then the server asks if everyone wants water? You literally gave water to every person on every other table! Ask for sauces with our arepa and empty bottles presented for us to scrape the bottom of If you don t want to serve us, let us know we ll take our business elsewhere rather than make us feel unwelcome and ruin our day.
Awesome place, my family and I had lunch before heading back to Montreal. Good food and super friendly staff. Shout out to Carolina from the kitchen who made us feel quiet special. Would definitely recommend.
On our most recent visit to Toronto we made a point to sample some Latino dishes. We were not disappointed. By far this was the best meal we had in Canada on this trip for the service, quality of the food and price. They treated us like family and the food was amazing. It is absolutely the go place for arepas! You can order arepas stuffed with various things. Must try the Pabellon arepa, it s well prepared and very tasty. Next time we visit we will most definitely stop here again.
Great service! They all made us feel like home! Delicious!
I went there the other day with friends. and the vibe was so chill and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and gave me a big smile as we enter. I tried their pomarosa latte and arepas, and it was good and yummy. Would recommend this.
The arepas were incredible, as was the coffee. Interior was beautiful and calm, and the people were so kind. Only wish Id brought a book to enjoy while drinking my coffee.
Amazing ambience and friendly staff. I went along with some of my friends and enjoyed every second we spent at this place. The food is amazing and the staff is really friendly too. Would certainly visit again.
I had high expectations for this arepa restaurant, and they definitely exceeded them. The arepas were fresh and delicious, and the variety of fillings meant there was something for everyone. The restaurant has a fun and lively atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning!
A great little Venezuelan spot on the Danforth. Fried plantain was delicious as was the arepa with pork marinated in orange and espresso. Arepa was stuffed to the brim.
Perfect
Food is Delish! Giving 3 stars because they were too slow with the drinks. We received the empanada we ordered before the food. I would ve been fine with waiting for food but at least bring drinks out first. I highly recommend the pabellón arepa and tequeños
Finally got to try this cute place out. Theres plenty of sitting room inside! The team running the place are very charismatic and joyful. I really enjoyed my Rosa latte. Thanks!
The staff is always so friendly and helpful with the menu. The Pabellon Arepa and Horchata Latte are always my go to!
Vegetarian options: Very compacted mix Could add another vegi option to the beans Food : 5/5
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Very tasty coffee and food. Lovely study spot as well - rectangular tables plus lots of plugs.
How good is this place? So good. Loved the arepas - first real carne mechada for me. Can t wait for my next visit.
Dietary restrictions: Tons of gluten-free options. Food
Amazing delicious arepas!! Worth a visit!
Food so good I started speaking Spanish.
Loved it. The staff were friendly and the food was delish. Will definitely go back.
I love this place and have been ordering from them for the past 3 years now. Delicious arepas, scones and empanadas. The guava and cheese scones and empanadas are a favourite. Their hot chocolate is also delicious and their home-made marshmallows (not exaggerating) are the best Ive tasted in my entire life! Ive eaten in their dine-in area and have been very impressed with their family-friendliness. They have high chairs and baby/toddler meals available. The service has also been great and were offered water frequently as well during our last visit. I will be coming to Pomarosa again and I am so happy this place exists in our neighbourhood.
Greta food but slower service. Great if you re having a chill day and have time to wait.
Incredible food and wonderful people.
A small, perfectly thought-out menu. The kind of place where you want to get one of everything just to try it all. Staff are lovely, and they have maybe the BEST COFFEE in the East End. Kid-friendliness: Great with kids and lots of room.
An unexpected gem of a restaurant just east of Greek Town, this place serves authentic South American sandwiches, snacks and drinks. The wait staff was friendly and efficient, and fluent in Spanish. The food was delicious. The restaurant was cozy and bright. I will definitely go back there again.
good place for gf food would just ask about cross contamination before ordering but vary tastie food
Great coffee and delicious arepas! Always a great idea to stop by when Im in the neighbourhood.
I walked multiple blocks just to visit this place a 2nd time. The service is quick, the arepas are fresh and delicious. Plus the seating is super comfortable. Cant wait to come back when Im having another craving
Very good food, tasty. Nice variety of dishes to enjoy. A little pricy for the portion size. But, still worth it. Great tasting Coffee. I would definitely go again.
Visited randomly on a saturday morning at 930 and loved it. I got the horchata latte iced and the breakfast arepa. so. good. They even provided sauces to dress up the arepa more. It also just had a very peaceful but cozy atmosphere.
Best arepas and coffee ever!
Best Latin Restaurant in Toronto, the food and coffee are very nice! My favorite is the Hot Chocolate and Rosa Latte. Dietary restrictions: They have vegan and vegetarian dishes, also the arepas are gluten free.
Excellent place! Wonderful service!
The food is delicious and your chef is beautiful person
Amazing food! Amazing drinks! Best owners!
Best place to eat Arepas ever Vegetarian options: They have a delicious flowers, Arepa
Staff are welcoming and friendly. The place is bright and inviting. They have special decorations/menu items for holidays (easter/valentines day/Christmas etc. And even latin american holidays). When you visit, expect something different new, something different, something exciting. The chef/owner is very innovative and is always experimenting new ideas Vegetarian options: Filling vegetarian options. Great desserts Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free and vegan options Kid-friendliness: Have high-chairs and special plates and kid friendly food/drinks Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp in the entrance and seating. Just not accessible for the restroom area
Beautiful and unique experience.
The best Latin food restaurant in Toronto! Cheese & guava empanadas and scones are always a good idea.
the best gourmets arepas in all toronto! <3 Will strongly recommend the Pork carntias Arepas Food
Amazing place, great service, and the most delicious arepas and tequeños in Toronto! love this place!!! Will definitely go back!!!
The food was good and I enjoyed the service from the staff. I was very impressed at the price to quality ratio of the food. Its hard to find somewhere that you can get away for under $30 for this level of food. Would definitely return hers. Vegetarian options: Theres a couple of options but not too much.
Everyone should know what this is. This is my new favourite food. How do they even do this? It s SO GOOD - 7 year old boy. Eating the Reina.
Really enjoyed my meal from here the other night. Try the guava & cheese empanada - tastes much better than it sounds
Great spot for lunch or dinner! While the sandwich looked small compared to the plate, the taste and filling amount justifies the price. Great local beer available too.
A bit on the expensive side, but its a very aesthetically pleasing cafe. Arepa and Empanada was cooked well. Tres Leches cake was very deliciously moist. They must cook everything fresh because the wait time is long, but I would come again.
Pabellon Arepa - comes with fried plantains, frijoles, cojita cheese and some marinated beef. Beef was juicy but a little too tough, but they pile it high on top. The frijoles were not a bad addition to make each bite more significant, and the plantains provided a nice sweet balance but I felt there wasnt enough and was the best part of the the arepa. The arepa was top heavy and towards the end the filling to arepa ratio became too diminished. Also, the arepa was quite soggy and lost its crispy, crumbly texture, most likely due to geting takeout.
I tried Arepa for the first time. It looks small but its quite fulfilling
Beautiful place! Love the yuca fries...carnitas arepa was ok
Amazing combinations of arepas. So flavour.
Delicious food and very kid friendly!
A lovely atmosphere with spectacular food! Highly recommend for anyone craving Latin or even for your first tostada!
(Celiacs Beware) They have a a lot of gluten free items on the menu but only some of there items are gluten free for example it will say there Empanadas are gluten free but there actually not since they use the same fryer for their non gluten free items. Their arepas though are truly gluten free since they dont fry the bread but a lot of their so called gluten free items are not safe for celiacs so please do ask the waiter and dont just look at the menu and be like wow all gluten free cause its really not. Food was good tho Dietary restrictions: They have a lot of gluten free items but the catch is most of them are not safe for celiacs as they use the same fryer for there so called gluten free items such as empanadas.
Gluten Free treats! Pilot coffee! Its fantastic spot in the hood
Amazing coffee and eatery place near Danforth
Cute café with good smoothies and huuuuge arepas, friendly staff.
Pomarosa never disappoint. Each item (that I have tried) on their menu is absolutely delicious. I have only been there for lunch but it seems that they also offer coffee and some breakfast options. Bonus point : it is child friendly with Ikea high chairs and a special dish for babies and toddlers. Vegetarian options: Various items on the menu are vegetarian Parking: Street parking Kid-friendliness: High chair provided Child friendly cutlery
The food is so delicious I tried pork carnitas and reina. Reina is amazing You should try the Horchata latte too Food
Ordered an almond milk take away coffee this morning and it was delicious. However , with no other customers in front of me, they had me me wait over 10 minutes for this cup while I just stood there. Three ladies working with only a few tables outside shouldn t have take away customers wait so long for service when there is enough staff to help out. Just some advice .
Staff kindly explained the dishes to this country bumpkin and I enjoyed my gluten free chicken (sous vide) salad sandwich (arepa) and lemonade. I ate inside and the service was great. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free!! Low fat chicken!
We had the horchata and a horchata latte. The horchata latte was good, but the horchata itself left a lot to be desired, had weird chunks in it.
Good food and a very nice spot for coffee and lunch.
Great place and excellent food. I had the Pork Carnitas and it was amazing. It was very delicious and the pickled watermelon was a great addition. I ordered and sat outside on a nice warm afternoon. Really enjoyed and would like to go back!
Nice summer patio
Excellent arepas and coffee selection. Really enjoyed the Tahini Brownie!
Lucky I pass by and found Pomarosa Coffee Shop & Kitchen with patio @Danforth Ave. This is my first time to try Venezuelan arepas! Flores (cauliflower) Vegan was excellent! I ordered 1 empanada to go and waited over 20 minutes :( The guy forgot about my order as well as someone else s who got takeout, we had to remind him to get our food
Wonderful local restaurant with Venezuelan Street food - super flavorful and different. Delicious and affordable, the arepas are loaded, empanadas hot and delish! A favourite that is luckily within walking distance for me.
Amazing food, super cute interior and great coffee!
This was my second time at Pomarosa and I dare to say it was better than the first one. This time we order some cassava, which was good, but the star for me were the chicken empanada and also the guava and cheese empanada. I dare to say that these were the best empanadas that I ve ever tried here in Toronto. I ll definitely return. The staff is super friendly as well and the atmosphere is very good.
We stopped to grab a couple of London fogs. Which werent too sweet! And breakfast was good as well. Light and tasty.
Love the ceviche. Its my favorite!
Fantastic spot for brunch. From the street it looks like a takeout joint but they have a beautiful dining area in the back. Food was fantastic, coffee was great, and they have freezers of goodies you can take home. Well be going back for sure.
Great latín food. Very nice staff. Empanadas amazing! Arepas wonderful!. Coffee very good, fair price and big size.
Its been a family fave for several years now. The arepas and the guava/cheese scones are to die for.
I don t know what arepas are, but they smell good. Extremely good espresso coffees made with pride, fresh ground to order with a full and balanced flavour. Will return here for coffees and treats to this friendly and up-and-coming neighborhood.
What a cute and lovely place. Seems so authentic! Gluten Free Arepas are becoming my favorite.
One of the best coffee shops on the Danforth. Great Americano and the Poblano + Cheese scone is packed full of flavour. Blast your taste buds with the tahini brownie - its probably my favourite chocolate brownie on earth.
Food was delicious. Coffee was great. Staff were super friendly. Service was a little slow. But that could also be because I had somewhere to be at a certain time. Overall, I would recommend and would go again if I m in the area.
Worth a special trip to come here. Impressive, careful selection of delicious and unique take out and pantry/freezer stuff. But also incredibly comfortable and pleasant (but not speedy) dine-in experience. Cocktails, smoothies, barista specials, snacks, meals, desserts -- menu includes delightful veg and vegan accommodations. Everything prepared super fresh.
Really good food. I loved my arepa. It would be nice if there was a bit more ventilation in the place when there is a lot of cooking going. :)
awesome arepas
absolutely incredible - had the cheese guava empanada, and the cauliflower arepa ( the flores) . ended with the alfajores, 10/10.
LOVED the food. The Flores arepa - incredible vegetarian option. Incredible hot chocolate and lovely empanada <3
Good latte, good food, nice staff, and no pressure to leave.
Great fast and friendly service. Highly recommend the Rosa latte, it was spectacular!
Good Latin food, many flavors and variety of ColomboVenezonalos products. Great Latin food, lots of flavor and good sort of products from Colombia and Venezuela.
This place deserves 5 stars. The food, service, and atmosphere are 5 stars, but the value is 4 stars. For the breakfast arepa with a coffee to be over $20, it seemed pricy, but it was delicious. Still would come back, but maybe not as often as I would like.
Good place
not only was the food delicious, I loved that they had multiple HEPA air purifiers throughout the restaurant, which is so important to reduce risk of covid transmission in our ongoing pandemic! really commendable, will be returning!
