Best bite i ve had in Toronto.

Absolutely horrible service. The tables came 20min later got the food but not us. I asked if the food is coming or not, and they said yes. Then i waited another 10min. I complained about the time, and they did not reply me or apologize at all. The food is average, nothing special. Better go somewhere else.

Best pho for value in toronto. Also recently revamped and has new menu items. In particular, the weekend special rib pho is very good, lots of meat provided.

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto is Anh Dao. Its a great family-owned place where I used to dine with my dear friend and mentor, Professor Ananda Chakrabarty, before he passed away. I miss his company whenever I visit. Nowadays, I mostly opt for takeout, which isnt as enjoyable as eating there. Anh Dao serves the most delicious warm shrimp rolls and dipping sauce in Toronto, and their Pho is amazing too, although I wish the bowls were bigger. If youre ever in the Chinatown area (Spadina Ave., south of College St.), I highly recommend stopping by Anh Dao and exploring the neighborhood!

Their Pho is amazing. The broth was phenomenal. However, the crepe with pork and shrimp was disappointing. The amount of meat in there was too little and it lacked flavor. As a matter of fact, the pho could have used more meat as well.

came in on a rainy cold day bc i was craving pho soup. the staff was friendly and showed me to my table where i scanned the qr code then ordered the beef brisket pho. it came pretty fast in less than 10 minutes and the bean sprout amount given beforehand was substantial and appreciated. the soup tasted really good and the brisket pieces were very tender and soft. in love with the onion and cilantro and spices - this was well executed. the noodles were also flowy and cooked well.

Excellent food, great service too! :) But please change the music to asian music or something. You guys played baby by Justin Bieber, followed by heavy metal and then a children s ABCD alphabet song . Just ruins the vibe, I was laughing though haha

Best Vietnamese restaurant in the city for me. Everything on the menu from the wings, banh xeo, pho, bun and rolls are all done exceptionally well. Family run business that really cares about the quality of food and their customers.

Hands down, best Vietnamese restaurant in the city. Food is so authentic, flavourful and tasty. We ordered the assorted Vietnamese meat roll platter (nem nuong, bo la lot, etc.) and it came with a wide selection of herbs and in abundance. Some places usually skimp out and only give you a couple stems. Other notable mentions are the banh xeo which was crispy and the goi du du which was refreshing. Servers were so friendly, efficient and attentive.

Absolutely gross. Fresh rolls and bún had such a strong taste of dish soap, we couldn t eat it. Meat quality not great either. Very disappointing as it looked very fresh.

I rmb going to Anh Dao as a child with my parents and recently had the pleasure of dining here again with my friends. It was an incredible and nostalgic experience and the food was just so dang delicious. Trust me guys, this is a true Vietnamese experience. I highly highly recommend.

This place is so consistently good. It s hard to decide what to eat here cause there are too many options. The pho and the soup base is so good. They also have very good rice dishes and vermicelli dishes. It s hard not to get the Vietnamese sausages as well. The staff is also very kind.

Hands down the best pho spot in Toronto. Been eating here for years and they always have such a great portion of soup + herbs. Pro tip - order an extra portion of pho broth on top of your regular order, take it home and make your own pho at home the next day!

Good price, very filling (I normally can eat a lot in one sitting but even I had to leave some noodles because I was so full which is great because I needed this fuel for my dad). The spring rolls are really delightful. I like their vegetables and the service was nice, polite, and its a good place to go with friends or by yourself because they dont bother you

Came here for dinner with a friend. The pho is a bit on the fattier, richer side; a bit too rich for my personal taste. Tasted more like restaurant than homecooked, if that makes sense but some people like that. No complaints about anything else. Bit of a line but got seated quickly once things opened up.

I ve been here more than a few times, but none better than tonight s experience. A quick run down: I was at work and only get 1/2 an hour for dinner. Me and a work colleague wanted to have pho but didn t want to run over our break time. We ordered ahead, and when we arrived in a very busy restaurant, our pho was placed on the table with water jugs and glasses and my rolls. Outstanding!!! Our waiters were all on the ball, asking us how things were, even apologizing for the pho being on the table a bit early which was totally above and beyond. The food was delicious and the whole experience totally VIP! Special shout out goes to Ming who was the one who took a phone call and turned it into the best dinner break ever!

Went here on vacation based on a video. Went two more times during my vacation and a year later Im planning on going on a soon to be trip to TO. Awesome food.

Portions were disappointing and the bun no bo hue was probably the worst I ve had. Banh xeo was really lacking on the toppings/fillings, even the bean sprouts was sparse. A friend had the pho, which was fine Ive been in the past, and the food was great, but it s really gone down in quality for the price. It feels like they re just riding a reputation.

Ive been here quite a few times and its always been good. However last nights experience has altered my opinion and I dont think Ill be returning any time soon. My friend and I arrived around 7. 15-20min wait, no problem. The food has always been worth it. Just before we sat down, a group of 4 came in. They were seated beside us and their order was taken probably 5 mins after ours. The wait for food wasnt too long but tell me why the group of 4 received their food first when we ordered the same items. Brisket and beef ball pho and BBQ pork vermicelli. My friend and I had to wait another 7 mins. Yes I timed it. I received my pho and Ive never received such little meat. They usually pack the bowl with so much meat (half of why its so good) but this time, it was literally small scraps of brisket. The smallest scraps and 3 meatballs. Also, did they change their fried pork spring roll recipe? Anyways, my friend loved her food but I was left disappointed and still hungry.

Anh Dao has been around for many years. It has a hole in the wall vibe and the saying that these types of restaurants have the best food is certainly true in this case. Their fried imperial spring rolls are top notch. My personal favourite in the GTA. Perfectly fried and the flavour of the filling is simply unmatched. A must have when you come here. The pho is also solid. The broth has very good depth to it. Portion is fairly standard for the price - there is only one size but you have the option of extra noodles and/or extra proteins.

Their Bo Là Lot and Nem Nuong fresh roll tray were so good. The price was a bit high compare to other restaurants but the quality was undeniable. They don t have many seats so I often go there for lunch

Was one of my favourite places to go for over a decade. They started mandatory tipping and I can t support that, even though I worked in fine dining for nearly 20 years. I used to be for that, but seeing so many restaurant owners exploit a tip pool, and the expectation of tipping, no matter what, is not cool.

Great place for Viet food. Recommend the big yellow pancakes and their coffee. Some veg options.

The food is so flavorful. I had the lemongrass chicken and pork with rice. They are not skimpy with the portions, I ended up taking some home in a box. The only issue is that the place is rather small so theres not a lot of seating. You might have to wait a bit for a table.

Get the Bun Thit Nuong & Cha Gao (Vermicilli noodle bowl) which is grilled pork with spring rolls, I think it is V3 on the menu. It is absolutely cracking, best Ive had outside Vietnam. The version with the pork sausage isnt worth it. Make sure to use lots of the fish sauce. The portion is massive, lots of meat and noodles.

Amazing food and lovely waiters, genuine and kind. A classic Toronto small restaurant that might not look like much from the outside but offers authentic, healthy and delicious Vietnamese. Great for celiacs because of all the rice and d vermicelli noodles. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Ive had their banh xeo and bun bo hue. Both are average for me. There are modern twists to the dishes here. Prices are also average.

One of the better pho places in Chinatown. Comparable to my favourite one in North York

Growing up in a Vietnamese household and having tried food in Vietnam, I seldom find local Vietnamese cuisine in Toronto good, as many places lack authentic flavors. However, Anh Dao is an exception to this. From their noodles (i.e. pho (beef noodles), bun bo hue (Hue style beef noodles), vermicelli) to their rice dishes, Anh Dao never fails to deliver authentic flavors with their food. All their broth are chock full of flavors and does not need any extra condiments added to them. The meat that comes with their dishes are well-cooked, especially the pork chops and lemon grass chicken that comes with the rice. They are seasoned and cooked perfectly, resulting in flavorful and juicy meat. I have yet to order anything that resulted in disappointment. The staff are always so polite and welcoming. Every visit is greeted with a smile which makes you feel at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic and mouthwatering Vietnamese food!

Ordered the beef rib pho, which is a special only available on weekends. If its on the menu- GET IT. It was soooo good... succulent, flavorful, fall-off-the-bone texture. Really, its almost impossible not to just pick up the ribs and nibble them clean, marrow and all. Mm..

Pho is good but not enough pork

One of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown. Fresh ingredients, light atmosphere, reasonable prices. My go to in recent years. Nice staff as well.

Very popular long standing pho joint in Chinatown. There is always a wait during meal times, no matter the day. It s well worth it though, as their pho is truly delicious. I got their house special soup pho which consists of rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. Their beef is actually served rare, which allows the flavour of the meat to come out in the soup. I ve never tasted each individual flavour so strongly before, it was wonderful!

A small family-owned Vietnamese restaurant with a wide variety of food to choose from their menu! I tried their grilled pork, grilled pork sausage, and spring roll vermicelli (V7) and it was so tasty :)) The spring rolls were nice and crisp and the pork was absolutely delicious the pork sausage was especially my favorite! The portion is also huge so you will definitely be getting your money s worth. Service was nice and relatively quick, and the interiors have nice decorations. Note that they only take cash but there s an ATM machine inside, in case if you forget to bring any.

I eat a lot of Pho and this place is one of the best in the downtown. Definitely the best in the College & Spadina area, i.e. way better than Pho Hung which has kind of gone downhill. I come here a few times every month for the past few years, and its been consistent. Great broth, good meat, plenty of noodles, and always comes with the fresh extras. Owner and staff are friendly and attentive. Service is super quick. Fair prices for value (high rents, quality food). Cannot recommend it enough.

2.5/5 Overall the place is fine, just pales in comparison to other places in the area for me. Food was alright but the price was high for pho in the city. Typical bowl, nothing standout, the fish and beef balls were tough. Fresh rolls were also run of the mill. I dont think Im one to complain about service as long as I get my food, but this was the worst I ve had in a while. Took like 20 minutes to take our order, and the first person to take it must ve forgot because another person asked us again. The wait was another 15-20 for the food to come out. The place definitely wasn t busy enough to justify this and it looked like they had way more than enough people for the job. Cool music and space though, and portion sizes were pretty good.

Been coming regularly for a couple years - have yet to find somewhere that has a better bowl of pho in Toronto. Their fried spring rolls and vermicelli are also the best I ve had.

Anh Dao solves all your problems. Failed your Calc II midterm? Anh Dao s pho will cleanse your soul. Burning up in a hot summer day? Try their salad rolls and grilled chicken vermicelli. Broke up with your ex? The wrap platters will stuff your troubles away. This place is an absolutely icon and have yet to find a better Vietnamese place in town! Ya ll actually lackin if you don t give it a try.

This was my first visit and I enjoyed every bite. I had the Stir Fry Creamy Curry Coconut with Chicken, and it was so flavourful and filling. And it was presented so beautifully! My friend enjoyed the Beef Brisket - Ph N m. The server was very polite and attentive, even though it was busy. Its a small, quite cozy space, but still worth sitting down to enjoy a meal. Id definitely return!

Very cozy and authentic Vietnamese food. Had the rib pho which is only available Friday - Sunday and it was delicious! Meat was tender and fell off the bone (the accompanying sauce for ribs was perfect), broth was clean and flavourful and the service was efficient. Previously tried the vermicelli with the beef wrapped in betel leaf too and was very good. Highly recommend. Only downside it is cash only though.

10% Gratuity? When do they start add gratuity to the bill? And asking tip too? No way~ First time I tried and pho was just average taste. Not going back! Food : 3/5

Nem Nuong Banh Hoi - Now for an actual platter, where I can customize each bite to my preferences - overstuffed with protein and a generous helping of herbs and peanut sauce. Its got all the aromatics like Vietnamese coriander, bean sprouts, unripe bananas, and mint, and nem nuong is grilled nicely to bring out the juicy pork umami flavours. Bo La Lot Banh Hoi - came with a big portion, also meant for 1.5 people. Comes with pig ear, pickled veggies, mint, viet coriander, lettuce, mam sauce, bo la lot and rice paper. Bo La Lot was tasty, juicy and you can taste the betel leaf. It was a little salty on its own but perfect on the wrap, however I went like there were too little lettuce|

YOU ARE NOT PAYING TAX, BUT CHARGE ME TAX Foods good, portion is huge, staff was friendly, BUT, pricing is tricky. I ordered food in total of 39, plus the an extra sauce 1.5 ( asked for more sauce for food is bland, and was told this is how we make it ) But ended up paying $56.5. I thought the reason I have to pay a 2.5 dollar process fee at YOUR ATM is because you require CASH ONLY so that you don t have to pay tax, and now you ve added a 21% tax on me??? What a joke I m reporting this to the CRA

Food is great. We order Spring Roll, Vietnamese crepe (Banh xeo) and Hue Noodle Soup (it s spicy). Beef in Hue Soup is soft and taste good with lemon grass.

Loved this spot . Quintessential hole in the wall Vietnamese spot - maybe 12 tables. Food was outstanding. Only gripe was that they didnt take credit cards. In this day and age, thats kind of unacceptable.

Always amazing food everytime

Food is very good and portions generous. But they started to add a 10% gratuity to the bill regardless of party size. They then still print suggested tip amounts of 15, 18 and 20% on the receipt. Seems odd.

Very nice PHO, got the house one, with raw beef/tripes/beef balls, great flavor broth (lightly on a sweeter side), generous portion, meat was a bit chewy, but the Ot Ngam Giam, Jalapeños and garlic pickles were dynamite. Price was a bit higher for the area but worthy.

We were actually quite surprised with the pho here. I eat pho at least twice a week so its hard to be surprised. We ordered both the Pho Bo and a bowl of Pho Ga (better for hangover in my opinion). Dang, I am quite shocked at the Pho Ga because not many restaurants do it well. This place has really good Pho Ga and the Pho Bo is good too!

No service and then they automatically charge you a 10% tip. Didnt notice this until I paid my bill + another 10% tip (my tip was calculated based on the bill + their tip so I actually paid a 21% tip). Scam. Id rather pay this much to a restaurant that has decent service, not this place where no one even asked you about how the food was. Lmao. Avoid it if you can. Mediocre food as well.

Checked this place out with my partner. Never been here before. We ordered fresh shrimp rolls, beef rib pho, and a rare beef and beef brisket pho. Both phos were served with very hot broths (the bowls were insulated cause the sides were room temperature). My partner took her time eating her rib, which surprisingly, i only found out there was a 2nd rib at the bottom of the bowl. Ample condiments provided including enough sprouts for 4 bowls of pho. The service was attentive and prompt. The only thing that would be nice is turning down the music abit but not a deal breaker. Will go again when we get a desire for a rib pho again !!! Ps, we brought home leftover broth from the beef rib pho. Overnite in the fridge, revealed what i suspected; the broth had congealed nicely indicating to me a significant amount of bones used in cooking their beef broth. Nicely done on their part !!!

Maybe the best vermicelli bowl I ve ever had. Subtle flavours and huge portions. We both had the Vermicelli with Spring roll and bbq pork. So good. Small restaurant, not too busy on a Saturday, mid-afternoon, there was one or two tables available. Excellent- will definitely be back.

Very very tasty. The portions are large, so if there are two of you, a resin or medium portion size will work. Great sauces, great guys who showed and told how and what to eat. Highly recommend. But take into account the nuance that tips for both food and alcohol are ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE CHECK. Therefore, the total amount will be slightly higher than you expect.

We went here for dinner during vacation, best Vietnamese we d ever had! Everything tasted so authentic and filling. This place is fantastic. Delicious hearty portions with no skimping on the meat. A true gem in the heart of Chinatown downtown Toronto. Every dish that came by us looked amazing. The restaurant includes Gratuity (10%) automatically in bill!!! WATCH OUT First time eating here. I was so excited and the food came out as good as I expected. However when the bill came, I asked to split between me and my friend, and after paying for my part I realized the math wasn t quite add up so I went back and asked for the receipt. They INCLUDED tips of 10% on my bill WITHOUT telling me upfront, and I tipped on top of that. I feel like that was such a scam and was quite upset about that. I think the restaurant should have the responsibility to tell the customer upfront!!

I m so disappointed in my most recent experience at this restaurant, I ve been coming here for years and the quality seems like it s changed since the word on the street is the parents retired and now ran by the children. The bánh xèo tôm th t (Vietnamese shrimp and pork crepe) at $18 was overcooked, thick and mainly just not edible as it was too crispy and over fried. The bean sprouts were raw and you can tell that there was no coconut milk or mung bean added to the mix. On top of that, the com ga didn t have any lemon grass taste but was overly marinated with tumeric. Unfortunately, their nem n ng is now also overly salty and dry, not like in previous visits. I won t be coming back again unless the quality of the food snd flavour improves.

I had the Vietnamese shrimp sizzling crepe, and it was delicious! If you like the Vietnamese deep-fried cracker with a prawn in the centre , youll love this its like a bigger version of that. Just a heads up, they only accept cash and debit, but theres an ATM machine available. Vegetarian options: Curry tofu and stir fry spicy satay tofu

Fast and efficient services, pho is good sized, they take debit or cash. Broths is flavourful but it may be due to MSG. 10% tips is automatically added to the bill, double check before paying.

It s the opposite of Vietnam serving (which was more vegetable and less meat), this was more meat and less vegetable. Food was good but payment was a hassle. JUST BRING CASH. They have ATM machine inside but the charge and exchange rate was bad.

AMAZING!!! From the outside the store looks like a hole in the wall, but then again you re on Spadina eating at an Asian restaurant, so it s kind of expected. Once you step inside though, it s actually clean and clearly a hip and trendy-decorated spot. Ordered Rare Beef and Beef Ball Pho, fried spring rolls, and the specialty wrap dish with the bbq/lemon grass pork. Pho broth was one of the best I ve had in the city! Deep, complex flavour without being overly greasy or fatty. Beef balls looked house-made versus the frozen supermarket ones in virtually all Pho places in TO. Spring rolls were a bit different, but were good and came with lettuce to wrap with. That rice paper wrap-it-yourself dish was excellent. An abundance of fresh herbs and greens, with an appropriate amount of well seasoned and quality pork. In the restaurant, all the tables come with pickled jalapeños/garlic jars that were fresh and clean. Plenty of places come with these condiments but the jars look old and dirty often, but not here. Everything tasted super fresh and made with care. Servers were super nice, helpful, and genuinely appreciative of your business. Price was, it was about the same as most places, but with clearly superior and higher quality food. Will dine here again for sure.

Food was delish and service was great

I ordered take out a few times and all of these times the order came spilled, leaving me a mess in the bag and pho with half portion of broth. They put the broth container upside down once (I wasnt expecting a restaurant to give me a Cirque du Soleil show ), and I had to eat my pho like a bun , without the fish sauce. Seriously, you should change the container to a much more solid one if you insist to put kt upside down.

This is one of my favorite viet restaurant. I always order delivery but the packaging is horrible. Every time more than half the broth would spill upon delivery.

Our group of two went to Anh Dao for dinner. Added a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, no ice, and it came out in a paper cup the height of my palm, not even full, for 7 dollars. The ridiculousness didn t stop there. I asked for a bill and they just gave me the debit machine, but no original bill, showing me the total which was weirdly higher than expected. I paid but asked them for an itemized bill, and it turned out they had added 10 percent tip automatically for our group of two. They gave me back the other tip I paid when I questioned them about the hidden automatic tip. I just left them 15 percent after all but I shouldn t have, considering they were being sketchy in the first place. The whole experience left a bad after taste. Food was very salty too and I would never return for it. Still giving two stars just because of the servers efforts.

I came here for dinner with a friend. I order the house special pho and spring rolls, she ordered a vegetarian dish. Man the pho is like so good. Probably one of the best bowls of pho I ve ever had. The restaurant is clean, the service on point and the portions are generous. I ll definitely be coming back here and recommending it.

Really good food, and amazing service to match. We ordered the Mon Dac Biet with betel leaf beef. While intimidating at first to assemble, the staff gave us a full tutorial on the components and how to put the rolls together. New favourite, will be back!

By the way, you answered, so Ill just say that that day I asked the staff directly before paying so I knew, but when Im not in the restaurant, no one has time to rate like this The 10% gratuity is for the owner, not the employee. I ate there in September 2023, but after this time, many friends on the fb group also knew and dont know if the restaurant owner has fixed it yet. Im reviewing because during the period from September to December, when I went out to eat around Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Scarborough, I didnt see any restaurant that charged gratuity like this. Taxes, service fees, and tips of course depend on each restaurant. But the way the owner takes that % and then the customer has to give the cash to the employee separately if they want to tip the employee directly - is so wrong and frankly doesnt care about those who work far from home. The quality of the food is ok with grilled spring rolls and vegetables, beef pho only comes in 1 size and has less meat than some other restaurants.

My wife and I came in looking specially to try Banh Xeo for the 1st time. The server ( maybe owner ? ) was very helpful, informative, patient, and kind. The Banh Xeo was delicious - scrumptious actually. We got it with chicken which was nicely caramelized a bit on the edges and I dont know how the crepe stayed so crunchy even after I doused it in fish sauce. It was also a very good size for an appetizer. We will back to eat it again.

The best restaurant in town!

Atmosphere was nice and got served water quickly, but it took 10 minutes to order and waited 36 minutes for my food. I m sure they usually have good service because I saw tables get seated, order, and finish eating before I got my order. Food was good but not 36 minute wait good.

Waited at the door to be greeted. Didnt acknowledge me until I took my jacket off. Waited forever to place an order. Out of the three dishes we ordered, only one really stood out. Bun Bo Hue didnt have pork blood. Banh Xeo was too crispy. Service really was lacking and inattentive. The music was loud and obnoxious. This was only my second time but I dont think I will order dine-in again.

Can be hard to get seats immediately, but that s because the food is delicious, tastes authentic too!

Aromatic, strong MSG, rich flavour but I like my pho this way. Good portion.

Edit: I am so disappointed that this used to be my fav spot but it has gone downhill.. I ordered grilled pork vermicelli(one with beef and another one with sausage )and they all tasted like drenched in tons of MSG, I couldn t finish my food because they left bitter aftertaste and already giving me a headache.. sadly I ll not be returning Definitely my favourite viet resto in downtown area. BanhXeo is a must have there, and the vermicelli dishes are all very good.

Pretty busy on the weekend, quite chaotic but the atmosphere was still very authentic Vietnamese. Service was good, but wait time is long because the place is so small. Food was okay, honestly not up to my standard though. Banh xeo was a thick layer of bean sprouts and missing mung beans which is the best part. Bun Bo hue was okay, hu thieu okay as well. Haven t tried the pho yet so maybe that LL be the saving grace!

This has become our new go to pho place in Chinatown! The broth is so clean here compared to the other places we order from. It s not heavily msg so you won t be crazy thirsty afterwards. We loved our food, we got the pho special, pho with beef balls and the banh xeo. Loved it all and will be sure to come back. FYI - cash only though!

What a great experience we had! Our waiter Minh was so amazing. He explained in such detail how to wrap the spring rolls and all the ingredients. I ve never had such an amazing experience at a restaurant before. Thanks to him we enjoyed our meal so much. The food was great and prices are so reasonable. Thank you again for making our experience so great!

My partner and I could not find the time to share words during the meal. Few things in life are as intimate as the session I had with this food. If I was on death row this would be my last meal.

it been more than 4years since the last time I was here I would say the food was better. it was still decent but I expected more from the last experience lol the restaurant was redesigned and it looks good. the menu looks really pretty but so hard to see the food (the front is too small)

Great food, reasonable prices, chill atmosphere. Will happily come back for more. Definitely an easy recommendation. Be aware that they only accept cash - no debit or credit cards.

Tastes as delicious as Vietnamese pho. Staff can speak Vietnamese. One thing that is quite inconvenient is that the shop does not accept card payments or bank transfers but requires payment in cash.

I cant go more than a few weeks without hitting up anh dao. The S4 platter here is probably one of my favourite meals to get whenever Im in the area. Its cheap, its filling, and its super delicious and one of my go tos. For anyone unfamiliar with anh dao, it is cash only so please come ready with some cash!

The food at the restaurant was pretty good, but the service and staff are not the best. This restaurant was actually good when the old owners were operating the restaurant, now you have to pay for every little sauce and extras. Overall the pricing for some items are outrageously expensive.

The waiter was amazing and helped explain what is now our favorite meal to my ten year old nephew. Truly above and beyond service. Cash only but ATM inside is only 2:50 charge. Oh yes. Such fresh and great food. Broth for pho properly spiced, and bbq pork out of this world.

Delish Vietnamese option! Vermicelli bowl is always my go-to. Portions are really generous. Busy but the food/service is pretty fast! Small restaurant but it makes it cozy

Can t go wrong with Anh Dao. Went for a quick dinner on the weekend and it did not disappoint. The waitstaff are friendly and know what to recommend. My friend got the rib special pho and I got the Suon Nuong . It was so good!! Legitimate Vietnamese food for sure!

Came here Sun evening with 3 friends, bit of a small restaurant but very cozy. Had to wait 20 minutes however the service and food more than made up for it. Service felt impeccable and the food was definitely authentic, would recommend!

The best pho in Toronto! The broth is flavourful and portions were big. They definitely do not skimp out on meat portions either. There can be a little bit of wait time for the food to come out but it s definitely worth it. The servers were friendly and made sure each table was well taken care of. Always love coming here when we re in Chinatown.

Lovely little spot with a friendly team! Just a heads up to my vegetarian/vegan friends, read the menu descriptions as the vegetarian noodle soup says its with beef broth so not actually vegetarian. I feel like they are definitely lacking in vegetarian options compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. They also include the tip on the bill which was not mentioned and we tipped on top. Based on principle, I feel like they should let people know. Other than that, my partners dish looked great so if you love your meat, this place is for you! Vegetarian options: Not the best vegetarian options and the noodle soup under the vegetarian section is served with beef broth. Not very vegetarian. ^_^;;

A good Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Toronto

The service was bad: took a very long time to make, when it was made I asked to get a fork for me and my brother it never ended up coming. As for the food, it was a big portion, but the beef was burnt and they gave me pork instead of chicken. On top of that, the water was pretty much pure chlorine ( for 18 dollars for a vermicelli that is insane)

Their pho and spring rolls are so flavourful and the right amount of spices. My new pho to go place for sure!

I had the rare beef and brisket pho wow, very delicious. Lots of noodles and the broth was super delicious and rich. The meat was tender and also very very good. Will definitely come back . Also liked the music they played Vegetarian options: They have a very nice vegetation section on the menu. I am not vegetation but all the options tempted even me!

A classic Vietnamese restaurant in the midst of Chinatown. The spring rolls were quite authentic and the pho was very flavorful. It used to be really good for its value but it has become as pricey as other places. The place is not as decorated or spacious, but for a casual eat and meetup its still a good choice.

Roast pork is the finishing touch

This place serves up authentic Vietnamese dishes thats delicious and easy on your wallet. Came here with a group of friends and tried out a variety of traditional dishes including a several large bowls of pho (beef slices and brisket), vermicelli with grilled chicken, and rice with grilled pork chops. Also got some deep fried Vietnamese pork spring rolls (Cha Gio). They were all amazing, tasted very home-made, and filling. I especially enjoyed the char on the grilled pork chops while my friends praised the broth and the texture of the noodles. Service was fast and timely. Atmosphere was meh, its a typical Viet resto thats in Chinatown, whatd you expect lol? Cash only though, so a bit inconvenient, but we managed. Overall, a neat little spot for good Viet food, cant complain, 5/5.

Visited Anh Dao for lunch and really enjoyed all the food ! It s a smaller venue and fills up quick, it is cash only but they have an ATM inside. They have very flavourful broths and big portions, they make my favourite my tho soup ! Will definitely come again !

Had food here the other day, Ive been to alot of well known Vietnamese restaurants here in Toronto, I had a beef Pho it was way to sweet, needs more fish sauce to balance it out, the taste of the soup was good just the sweet was to much for a pho broth. Iced coffee asked for half sweet and it was like drinking a can of condensed milk. Ill be back to give this place another go who knows maybe it was just a off day.

Probably one of, if not the best Vietnamese food in Toronto. A small and cozy spot tucked away in Chinatown, this spot is always busy during peak meal times. Be sure to have cash as they are cash only. A reliably excellent restaurant for fresh, well-balanced and incredibly savoury and delicious meals. My favourite is the pork and pork sausage com! They re known for their sausage so be there to try some while there.

Anh Dao is clean and cosy, with pleasant service. Cash only could be a bummer. Beef brisket pho 5* for appearance but missing that simmering since this morning depth of broth flavour.

Cosy Chinatown gem for Vietnamese. Love the crepe (A4) with pork and shrimp, comes with plenty of fresh greens to accompany. Great with a hot or cold, sweet (condensed milk) Viet-style coffee. Highly recommended. CASH ONLY at present (Winter 2023).

Decided to change it up from my normal Vietnamese haunt and was not disappointed. Delicious food, kind staff and bustling atmosphere. Will be back.
