One of my most favourite Vietnamese restaurant. The owner is very friendly. And I really love their duck & bamboo shoot noodle, it s just excellent. Other recommendations is the Cho Lon dry noodle and Hue Beef noodle. The price is very reasonable so highly recommend this place.

Staff scam us with the bill, like other people have mentioned. Our bill would have been $75.71, but they rounded it up to $80. They didnt provide us with the bill with the prices and tax, just wrote 80 on our order paper. BEWARE!

Its everything you want in a vietnamese restaurant. The food is super fresh and yummy. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and theres always a place to sit. The staff are kind and attentive. One of my go-tos in Chinatown and they do a great bun and Vietnamese pancake.

Great Vietnamese coffee!

Pho broth is more salty than savoury, the house special pho is while filling but unfortunately not satisfying, lacking toppings, theres much better pho in the City.

Like other reviewers my bill should have been $28.75 with tax but I was charged $36 and not given a receipt to check why. We paid cash so it wasnt a credit card fee. When we opened our bag of takeout there wasnt enough cutlery for all of the dishes. I will not be back.

Sweetest pho I ve ever had, which I did not enjoy as much with my northern viet palate!! Service was good and quick but I just didn t really like how sweet the broth was and the pho noodles were a lil powdery (maybe cooked too long?) Maybe their other dishes were better

My experience at Bun Saigo was dissapointing. I ordered the pho and bun bo hue, the pho was skimpy on the meat, the broth had no flavour to it. The bun bo hue looked a little off too with a weird colour. And when it came to pay, our bill should ve been less than $28 but it seems like the owner or staff intentionally charged us as other reviewers have said. The vibe in the place wasnt at all welcoming. Needless to say I wont be returning.

Food was good.

I had the beef brisket pho, the fried spring rolls, avocado milkshake and the grilled beef in mint leaves. Every dish was bursting in flavour and warmed me up from the cold weather. One of my new favourite Vietnamese places!

Mind your bill. We didnt see the reviews until after we left the restaurant. Were not sure if we were charged an inflated total because of the credit card fee or a tip was included without our knowledge. Either way, the total seen on the machine should be transparent for customers. Food was decent. Wouldve gone back if it wasnt for the bill.

Simple Vietnamese restaurant. I like the dishes I ordered but I find the taste slightly different than what I was expecting and the spring rolls seemed a bit burned. Fast service at the time I was there when there were few customers.

Visited here today for a pho. There s only two sizes of M and XL for pho, so I ordered Medium. But the pho was very small in portion, it felt like something between XS and S. The lady also wasn t very friendly Food : 3/5 |

Food was ok service was ok. The cashier lady asked for 17$ on a 12$ dish which means tip was added onto the bill without disclosing. I then accidentally tipped on that. She also said the machine doesn t work so I need to pay cash. Very dishonest.

As the other reviewers have said, WATCH YOUR RECEIPT! Just wanted to leave a post so others do not get scammed like we did. The lady/owner up charged our bill by $18. Our bill should have come up to $65 taxes included and instead she insisted we pay $80 plus a $3 fee if you pay with credit card for a total of $83. She showed us our receipt without any itemized amounts for each dish ordered and wrote an inflated total amount without calculating the actual price per dish. I was skeptical but she kept insisting that this is what we owed her. We tipped an additional $10 on top thinking we were supporting a local business on Chinese New Year with our 2 young children. So we were taken for a total $28. Very DISHONEST owners. We ordered 2 XL Phos but the size was like a small to regular sized Pho, very little meat and noodles and lots of soup that was loaded with MSG which gives it a salty and super weird sugary taste (like aspartame). There was no ox tail or meat and bone broth aroma or taste. There was also a dead fruit fly in our lime soda drink. The other appetizer (shrimp on sugar cane) we ordered was under cooked and bland. We didn t bother to tell the owner as we could see based on the lady/owner s demeanour and no service that she would not honour anything and that she was not a good, genuine, friendly person. We also had our young children with us and didn t want to expose them to conflict on Chinese New Year. So we ate whatever we could manage to swallow as we were hungry and got the hell out of there quick. We won t be fooled again and we will never come back. Your better option is to eat at the Vietnamese restaurant right beside and upstairs called Pho Xe Lua, service and food is much better there and they are not dishonest cheats. As a side note, years ago this restaurant was family owned and run by a nice older lady. The food back then was authentic and good and so we thought we were coming back to the same older lady. Unfortunately, the current lady owner is a dishonest cheat.

I came and tried their congee before it was delicious that s why i came back to try Bun Bo Hue and Pho the 2 signature dishes of vietnam. And i was disappointed. The Bun Bo Hue is no where near the authentic, lacking lots of flavour. The colour is full of colour that my noodles was dyed. It shouldn t happened,the noodles only in the broth for a couple minutes. Pho broth is sweet, i am from the south of Vietnam we are known for tasting food sweeter than other regions but this Pho s sweet i cannot handle.

Came in for a quick lunch, got the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and spring roll - very tasty. It was a good sized portion, the restaurant was clean and staff were friendly. Would recommend! WARNING!!! This Bun Bo Hue is a big scam. It is the worst version that I ve ever tried. Nothing in the bowl is related to the original Bun Bo Hue (bad taste, weird soup color, a tiny sliced beef and 2 thin sliced pork). The dish is extremely not worth for $15.30.

Another family run business...I go here for seafood soup often...I really enjoy this place.

Doi Long - This final dish is something I havent seen even in Vietnam, which is a bed of beautiful and fresh Vietnamese coriander, and herbs, lime, chilli peppers and fermented fish sauce that all support the organ stuffed sausages, cut into bite sized pieces. Surprisingly clean tasting and brightened drastically with the accoutrements.

Today on Tuesday January 10th we went in for lunch around noonish. We were seated by the owner (I think, most likely seems like). You order by filling out a paper, which was fine no issues. The pho noodle soup was average. We enjoyed our meal but we were up-charged when we paid for our check. The total should have been $44 CAD but we were charged $55 USD dollars which is equivalent to about $74 CAD. We were basically scammed $30 CAD. We wanted to pay with card at first but were told cash only. I think she said it because she know we would be able to file a dispute with our bank. But we saw a customer before us pay with card with no issues. I don t know if we were targeted because we only had US dollars in cash to pay? Either way, I wish there was honesty. I didn t want to cause a scene so I didn t ask for a break down. I didn t even receive a receipt. This tells me that a lot of non locals that eat here most likely get up charged or charged a crazy different amount. We definitely won t be visiting this restaurant again. It s sad because we love to support small businesses and local restaurants but not when the owner themselves takes advantage of their costumers. She may seem very nice but was super sneaky about the prices once you checkout. Food was good but would not recommend to eat here because of the ridiculous up-charges.

If you come here and are not local they will over charge you for their food. The lady who helped my family and I out saw that we weren t from Canada and instead of charging us for the price that was on the menu she charged us almost $30 more without giving us a reason or a receipt. A go-to place for a solid bowl of pho that always hits the spot. Super convenient if you re in the Chinatown area. Lots of variety on the menu. Good service and never have to wait for a table.

Make sure you check your receipt, they will give you an up charge without you knowing. Got me during the first visit but wanted to give them, the benefit of the doubt. Second visit, they try to pull the same thing again. Overall would not recommend

Found a piece of metal in the food, likely to be from a metal cleaning scrubber. The lady there, probably the manager, did not offer any explanations or apology, took my chopsticks and flicked the cashew to the table and expected us to continue eating. I told her I don t want the food anymore since it s not clean to eat. I also turned down her offer to remake the dish because at that point I felt very uncomfortable eating from the restaurant. She then returned to the counter as if nothing happened. She also did not offer any refund when we paid.

We dropped in for a quick meal. It was alright, nothing more, nothing less. The account of meat in the pho was a bit less than expected but the price also reflected that. It was ok.

I never write reviews but just want to aware customer this owner or the staff is not honest . The food doesn t tast good either for the price . We order 2 M ph for I remember was 11$ each and a1 order of grill chicken rice and egg for 16.5 .they give me the bill for 50$ . I don t know how it come up with that . I won t recommend this place at all for their food quality or the way the bill customer . Greedy . Shame on the way they do business. Disgusting people. They should stop cheating their customers. Someone should stop this behaviour.

Got the bun riu and bun bo hue. Very good and flavourful. Service was nice as well. However, I got charged a couple extra dollars on my bill. Didnt realize it until afterwards.

Tasty Vietnamese food in Chinatown and quick service. However, indoor atmosphere can be a bit frosty.

Bun Saigon is another Vietnamese restaurant I dont need to say much. Food is always finely cooked and prepared. The boss is always friendly. The atmosphere makes me keep wanting to stay there.

1st time ordering yesterday & ordered again today. Will be a regular! Crab Meat, Sausage, Tomato Vermicelli - Love the flavour (not just salty, thank goodness!!). Must add the little hot sauce that is included. - The crunchy shredded lettuce & bean sprouts add to the overall texture. - Noodles Al dente. Perfect! Pork Blood - side order - Came in pho broth. Light & a touch of sweetness which is amazing!! Hainanese Chicken Rice - The rice was the BEST & want to just order that!! - Flavourful, not soggy, fried shallots on top - Wish they used the whole chicken instead of just the leg !! Grilled Pork & Spring Roll Vermicelli Bowl - Pork was perfectly cooked. Not overwhelmed by lemongrass! - Green onion topping & peanuts, yes please!!

The duck salad is so bad . The duck skin still has a lot of fur . The server is yelling to us when we want to cancel the order. I have to pay full price even I can t eat anything. Never come back again !!!!!!!!!

We used to go here a decade ago and the specialty bun dishes were very good. We moved and didnt go for more than a decade, but we recently went back there, and tried two specialty bun dishes and they were not good, especially the bun bo hue. The noodles were coloured orange from what they claimed to be from sate sauce. They might have run out of bun and used the noodles from another dish, which was supposed to be orange. The flavour did not resemble anything like traditional bun bo hue - my partner is Vietnamese and has tried many bun bo hues. There was one slice of beef that did not taste good. Worsening the negative experience, the portions were very tiny, albeit the price was cheaper than other pho places for the same thing. And to top it off, we had to wait around 20 mins for the food. We dont mind waiting this long for food from a restaurant if the food was very satisfying, if only this was. Overall, there were too many negative things going for this dining experience that it compelled us to leave a review. A note is that we went there at on a Sunday afternoon outside of meal hours, so maybe they didnt have things ready yet and just madeshift the dish. Still, we paid full price, so this shouldnt happen.

Just like what the other reviewers said, not an honest owner. What my husband ordered was $11.50, mine was $13.50 which was $28.25 after tax, the bill came $30 so we ve asked if this was after tax+tip owner said no, she insisted it was right until she glanced and saw my husband s was using the calculator app on his phone loll then she said oh no it s $28. Just be careful if you guys are in groups, she probably thought we were young shy couples that won t ask about bill details. We still left $31.. would ve given more

Food was alright. A good pit stop when you re hungry. Service was great. Just wish we were informed they take cash only prior to us eating. It was a surprise since there was no sign indicating that it was cash only.

My issue if that the woman working there (owner) is not honest with the bill. She always calculate with bill with few more dollars added. One time it was extra $5, other time is extra $3, other time $4 extra. Then asks if we want to add tip. I think I m done going there as feel cheated on. Then I ask her to redo the math and she corrects it. I can see other costumers paying more as I did the first time I realized she does it intentionally. I would recommend remembering how much each dish costs and then doing the math yourself with the tax.

Honestly outta all the restaurants in Toronto this hit Vietnam well, and for a bowl at $13 compare to $18 can you really complain?

i been going to this place for pho everyday for almost 2 months now and its the best pho in my life (ive tried more than 25 different spots)

only cash, no credit/dedit accepted. Collect tax on top of amount paid in cash which is ridiculous. Very fake taste in Vietnamese food, wrong ingredients for vnamese fermented fish noodle soup (which I tried in that visit). NEVER COME BACK AGAIN!

All the time you order , they just begin to cook your order when the driver reaches the restaurant all the time , if you order any drink , they change your drink without your permission and put a coke , 2 times it s happening to me on this restaurant.

The question is biased based on probably American taste. Also since this comment will go nowhere you should add chicken nuggets and fries with plum sauce to your kiddie menu. Just play the game. Maybe you should add hotdogs and pizza too. Ill stick to the bun with shredded pork and fish sauce - with the fried spring roll.

Typical PHO restaurant (not upscale), but the food is authentic Vietnamese and wonderful. Hard to find Authentic flavours. I travel to Vietnam quite often and this place is one of the best I have had the pleasure to visit since the pandemic began.

Small Vietnamese restaurant located in Chinatown. Pretty standard looking, nothing upscale or anything. The Pho we ordered for the kids had way more soup than noodles, had we known we might have ordered Large bowls instead. Everything came out very quickly and presented nicely. Flavours are pretty authentic to traditional Vietnamese recipes. The spring rolls definitely look better than they tasted, the meat texture felt almost grainy - as if you ate mashed beans or something. It was different. The family was very friendly and had great customer service. It probably wouldn t be my go to every time but I would definitely come back.

I was given an arbitrary number at checkout, I asked for a breakdown and the (owner, I guess?) wrote down numbers that were higher than menu prices. Leaving my original review below for reference, but I would never step in here to give them money again. Nothing innately wrong about the place, but the XL large pho was just a big bowl with lots of soup. The amount of actual noodle and meat was less than what I would expect from a Small elsewhere. The sriracha also seems watered down, if that puts things into perspective. Staff are friendly though, but probably not for you if you re hungry.

Not my favourite place in Chinatown. I had the tofu pho and the tofu was not good. Most tofu soups Ive had have cooked the tofu a bit, this soup was just large chunks of uncooked tofu and was not tasty. Decent place for the prices and friendly service, but otherwise I wont go back again.

This would never be my first choice as Im Vietnamese and know my food. But was extremely hungry from walking around so we chose here cause its the closest . I ordered the bamboo duck noodle soup and literally had 4 pieces of meat and it was the toughest meat Ive ever eaten, over cooked and the pieces were chopped so sloppy that they werent even parted. The broth was plain. Service ok but if Im going to pay for good taste. This is a no. I dont recommend it.

Horrible... I will never come here again. They charged me $12.50 for my meal, I paid with debit, then they accused me of taking their cell phone..before I got any food!!!! I just walked out but. I would not go here again.

I visited this place couple of weeks ago, the staff members were really kind and I liked their hospitality and courtesy that I received from the Vietnamese family that runs this business of fast-food restaurant. Very delicious and mouth watering Vermicelli Noodles , I ate with my friend. My go to place will be here from now on. Thank you to all you guys for your kindness and caring services. Since post-COVID 19, I have never seen any restaurant that does amazing job in serving food. Their cost is quite affordable. I recommend this restaurant for sure for take-out, dine-in or delivery.

I have been in this restaurant for dinner about 5 times and I have ordered take out 3 times. In the last 2 dine in visits I was left a little skeptical. First of all, there is not a legitimate receipt, they just write down what do you owe. Okay, I dont really care about that. What I do care is that they overcharge. Their menu has prices written on but they do not reflect the actual receipt. I might be going back once more just to verify my sayings. I just cannot grasp the idea of being cheated like that. Its just shameful. My girlfriend gave them tip and paid in cash in order to help them and now she feels ripped off.

I was a regular for a long time, at least once or twice a week with friends. I am chef myself. Pho was always great. In the past a few months, the meat was off, I asked kindly that they should changed it. They have been serving off meat since weeks and they replaced only the meat inside the meat not the soup!!! Unreal! And I also ordered a side brisket which was also off, and they wanted to charge me for it as well. When we are about to pay, I noticed it so I asked the lady to remove it. She said: if you dont like it, dont order it...well...no one likes brisket that is off. I will not return for a while. Will check back in 3-4 months and I will update.

Went here with two others and we all got pho. Definitely more bland than other places I ve tried. The serving size was also quite small. The waiter was nice, but we asked for more water twice and still did not receive any.

I came here with my coworkers because the pho shop next door was closed and we really wanted pho. The soup was quite bland, it didnt carry a lot of flavor and you could tell that it was watered down. One of my coworkers got the chicken with rice and it did not taste fresh. Overall, that dish was quite dry and lacked flavor. The service was alright and the sprouts plate was served generously. On the plus side, the place was very clean.

I work for a fine dining restaurant and this is maybe my favorite restaurant in the city. For quality and freshness of Ingridents at a great price point, this is one of Torontos best.

Anne, the owner of this establishment, is an angel. Just the nicest person you ll ever meet. The first time I was here, I asked if they could make beef satay wraps instead of shrimp which, without any complaint, she did. Three months later I was back (my schedule was mostly nights and at the time I lived further away) and as soon as I walked in, she asked if I wanted the same thing as before. And she remembered what it was! Amazing. The soup has a velvety smoothness to the broth. The noodles are done to perfection. The wraps are generous in size and the service quick and friendly. They even did renovations and it still feels like a real Vietnamese restaurant, not overly done up but still really nice, which I like. Everything here is so good, it s like a second home. I ve brought lots of friends here and everyone loves it here. Check it out if you haven t already. You will NOT regret it!

I think every noodle use the same soup

If you like your broth to be on the sweeter than the savoury side, then come here. Not for me though, I like my Pho soup savoury and full of flavour. Ordered the rare beef/tripe and beef tendon noodle soup and it was a letdown in both the quality of ingredients and taste. Noodles were soggy and broth was lacking the aromatic flavour you normally find in other Pho. The Vietnamese Fried Spring Rolls tasted off and not fresh. Even though food was not that good, service was great and friendly that s why I didn t give a lower rating.

I eat here weekly. The pho is simple, tasty and consistent. I have never had a bad bowl here. If you re exploring China town and want to ensure you re getting a decent bowl of pho, come here! Try the Ba La Lot, it s a hard dish to find in Toronto and they serve it here :)

Bun Bo Hue was great, they include some meat that I normally don t get at other Pho locations. Friendly service as well

Ive been here twice now & every time the food is super tasty and authentic. The orders take a little while because they are being made fresh, so the wait is not an issue at all. The pho broth is soooo tasty, not oily. The spring rolls are very good and fried fresh. I appreciate the time & effort they put into each order. They are also right beside a delicious chinese buns place :) thanks so much for the great food during this wild time!

Just had takeout from here and it was delicious!! Highly recommend the beef sate noodle soup (#117) and the Vietnamese style jumbo shrimp (#621). Cant believe that Ive been walking by this hidden gem for years, looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Ate on the patio this Sunday evening - may have been our group s fault for ordering less common items from the menu but the broth quality was below average portions were on the average side. Gf got the bun rieu which seemed like they used a instant flavoring pack, and broth was also not flavorful and overly sweet. Will likely not be returning

Visited with 3 other friends during covid and they were very accommodating with the table arrangements. They didnt have any available when we showed up but they swiftly prepared a table for us. Ambiance was great and service was njce too. Food was fine and price was ok, not amazing but the ambiance was absolutely amazing. Would recommend for a casual eat.

Im like 95% sure the best in chinatown as of this date. Pho soup is very flavourful, balanced, and soothing.

Went here to try their Durian shake tonight. The flavours were diluted and the ice were bigger than normal. After a while, I realized that I was crunching a bit too hard so I spat a piece out to realize it was plastic shards. They also got stuck in my teeth. Very disappointed since the waitress also decided to tip herself, when she gave me my change. P.s. they do not serve durian shake here. It is instant sugar powder. Not worth the price.

We came here and the food was delicious. We were also very appreciative that their patio front is pet friendly. They were kind enough to bring out water for our puppy as well. Service was great on top. Thank you!

Went during covid and the Pho was good. Broth is flavourful and piping hot.

We went there for the last 5 years each time we were downtown. Well it was a real disappointment this time. My wife had a bo lá Lop mix, She was really SICK After that. I just want to avoid details of her sickness ! Besides the way that they receive clients is too commercial and fake that we dont want go back there

Very tasty Pho soup and noodles. Big portions and affordable prices. Great hospitality! It was a hot day and we were served an exceptional ice tea (for free) the moment we got a table.

Terrible custumer service, I find a stone in my spring rolls and my baby could chuck with it. The server totally rude. Terrible service

Decent Pho and Viet dishes

After a late night out with some friends, decided to grab some pho. The pho place is just okay. Nothing special. Broth was a bit lacking in flavour. Meat portion was too bad. But for an extra large bowl of pho, expected there to be more noodle rather than just be given a large bowl. The service is good. Servers could sense when we were low on tea and refilled right away. Would I recommend this to a friend? Umm depends on the situation. I wouldnt go out of my way just to come here. If youre in the area and looking for a bite, sure why not

We stopped for a quick snack. The servers were very kind and accommodating. I would visit again!

Flavorless pho broth and small portions.

Tried the famous Bun Rieu here and it did not disappoint. Broth is flavorful and lots of fresh toppings (meatballs, sausages, bean sprouts, shredded cabbage). They also have a lot of specialties that not many Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto offer. Will definitely come back to try more. I had a hard time deciding what to eat since everything looks so good.

We were the first customers today and tables were spced out by ones marked not in use. Food was fresh and tasty. We got the fully loaded fresh rolls and the bun. Havent really ventured out to restaurants of late but they were doing a terrific job of following public health guidance. Would like to go bavk to try other dishes.

Ordered rare beef & beef brisket pho (#103) and stewed fish pot (#622). I like the pho broth and the medium size is more than enough for me as lunch. The stewed fish pot on the other hand is disappointing. I find it too salty and greasy.

Still the best value bun on Spadina

Good tasting pho and spring rolls. Worth another visit and will adjust my rating accordingly.
