Lac Vien Vietnamese Restaurant in Toronto

I came with very high hopes and a hungry stomach. Me and family asked for tea and the tea cup had a lipstick stain on it. We also asked for pho with beef tripe but gave us beef flank. Not very happy with that but the pho was overall good but had not much flavor! So overall 3 stars!

Food was good, but their pho dac biet didnt have tripe tendons.. a vital miss.

My go-to spot for Vietnamese food. I absolutely love their Bun, particularly the Grilled pork and spring roll on vermicelli.

A decent pho place that is a little bit pricier than some for slightly smaller portions (usually i am never able to finish and have leftovers but i did finish my bowl here). need more napkins on the table haha! soup was well-flavoured but noodles clumped and tightly packed. otherwise a solid choice!

May favorite local viet restaurant. Excellent always. We continuously go. Not bad still quite good Sept 29. At one point I remember the pho satay to be better but lots of meat, great broth. Very good Food

I love this place . It s a real gem in Toronto. It s always busy because it s the best pho around . Their other dishes are delicious as well . They are generous portions and all round winner. It s my go pho place - an institution!

Great service every time ive dined in. consistent and friendly; never ran into issues. no complaints with cleanliness; very clean and nice seatings through out . portioning sizes among the dishes are very reasonable. Their drinks are exceptional; refreshing but nothing memorable. Pho broth is great as well. I always enjoy a nice bowl when i visit. meat on the other hand is just average; often find myself using condiments to enhance the flavor of meats and it is also on the chewy side.

General Tao Chicken is delicious!!! Rolls are fresh and also yummy.

The best local Vietnamese food, love it.

The restaurant is very clean and open with plenty of parking. The Special Pho was great tasting but the toppings were slightly on the lighter side. Service was very quick and was able to be seated, order and pay all within 35 minutes. Id you are in the area thia place ia qorth visiting for Pho.

I might be a little obsessed with the Thai Fried Chicken Wings. They have so much flavour and are always consistently delicious. The staff is friendly, and the dining area is big and clean. They always have a lot of customers. Theres also a parking lot out front.

Amazing food!!! Great service. The wait staff saw we had kids, brought scissors for us (if you know, you know). Meat to noodle ratio was perfection. Broth was very flavourful.

Wow, our first visit here with my family was absolutely fantastic! Honestly, I didnt have super high hopes, but boy, was I pleasantly surprised. With a group of 8, they managed to hook us up with a table big enough for all of us plus points right there. Now, onto the food it was even better than I imagined, and it came out quicker than expected, which was a huge win. Plus, someone had amazing taste in music, setting the vibe just right. And lets talk about prices totally affordable! Definitely marking this spot for a return trip!

This is my family go to restaurant for many years. Manager/owner extremely friendly. The food is excellent. However, today, Sat feb 24, 2024 we were at table #26. Took our orders (2- C3s + soup ) Server came and gave food, 2 # C3, chicken and pork with rice to Table #25 (which was our order) We didnt say anything because we thought they probably ordered the same thing. Customer on table #25 (not their fault) He was eating his springrolls and all the flakes and cripsy wrappers was falling onto the plate (c3) he said to the server that the (C3) was not their order... it was too late all his spring roll, food was already falling into our food. The server, took their plates and gave it to us. All those springrolls that had fallen from his mouth now on our plates. The server came and said she made a mistake. She took their plates and put it on our table. I told her i want a new one because his food was falling into my meal, she said no Anyway, I spoke with owner, I hope they take action. This is very disappointing, disgusting and very unhygienic. I guess I will have to find a cleaner more trained server, and hygienic restaurant. If they dont show respect with your food while your watching. How clean do you think your food is behind closed doors in the kitchen? HOPE WE DONT GET SICK. They could have at least change the chicken or porkchop which only cost 20$, then lose a loyal customer who keeps coming back every week to support this restaurant for over 10 years. Anyway, time to explore more Vietnamese restaurant in the city.

We came here for dinner since how usual Vietnamese spot was closed. What a pleasant surprise. The pho and vermicelli bowl were packed with flavours. I will definitely be coming back. All the staffs were smiling which is always a plus for me. Oh yea! The price is extremely reasonable. Good food for good price. SIGN ME UP

Found this one due to my usual fav being unexpectedly closed, worth it! The fragrant smell of fresh ingredients fills the air when your order arrives, legitimately leaving you to say Wow outloud. 10/10 will be back!

Obviously I should ve got the soup. Unfortunately I did not. I got beef satay and the pad Thai. Both were not very good. Beef satay tasted like chilli flakes and the pad Thai was overpowered by the mushrooms.. an odd choice to add. Probably the worst pad Thai I ve eaten in this city. Overall not impressed. $60 in the trash as I probably won t eat the rest

The food is good and the service is good to start off but if your in one of the 4 back corners it could be hard to get the attention of the servers for to go boxes or to get the bill for payment. This has happened in more then one occasion at this location however if your looking for good appetizers and good food at good prices then this is a good place to go. Hot food. Tasty food. Lots of selection of Beef / Shrimp/ Chicken / Veggies and other tasty options.

Worst place so far. We ordered and waited for 30 mins then I had to ask a waitress, she went to the counter then came back and said it is coming Then we waited for another 20mins for the first one, and after that another 15 mins for the second (we ordered two main dishes). Food was okay, I worked at a Viet restaurant before so I know they forgot our order. However, there was no apology for the total 1 hour waiting, what took you guys 1 hour just to make a Vermicelli dish? Will not come back and will not recommend anyone to try, there are many better Viet places around there.

Pho is amazing. Ive been here a couple of times, and every time, the grilled meat items are a hit or a miss. Forst time, everything was great. Seocnd time prok chop dry as a card board. Third time beef stir fry was so chewy and tasted stale, wasted $14 for nothing. Next time, Id only stick with pho.

I never used to get FULL BODY ALLERGIES from this restaurant- however, Ive NEVER gotten a full body allergy from any restaurant before. What happened? Im Vietnamese and have been eating the same cultural foods I always have This occurred during the pandemic when this restaurant went through big changes- I usually order Grilled Beef, Pork, OR chicken with egg on rice. I made the order- Everything was fine until I woke up 3AM with ITCHY RASHES and HIVES ALL OVER MY BODY and was IN PAIN. After sitting in SHEER COLD water until 6AM. I thought it was coincidence, so I moved on I was wrong- a few weeks go by without incident, so I ordered it again. IT HAPPENED AGAIN around 4AM after consuming this dish! I BEGGED my husband to take me to the hospital, I was in so much pain from the rash and itching. I lost time and money from staying home specifically because of this rare incident . I dont know what the owner is thinking, but they definitely changed the how they operate in the kitchen and business, but we dont order from here anymore unless were desperate. (I make the same dish at home, so I know the owner is doing something wrong)

Food was subpar. Portions were low and their was no flavour in their broth. 3 stars however for their friendly staff. Will not return unfortunately.

The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Reasonable prices. The service is 5-star. The servers are ready to serve. Fried rice, Vermicelli, Pad Thai are just delicious. Avocado smoothie is so fresh and a must try. A good place to dine after shopping at Yorkdale Mall. Highly recommended.

One of the best Vietnamese places in the area. Great service and an elaborate menu. I tried the beef tom yum spicy soup, and it was delicious. Huge quantities and lost of toppings. Would love to visit them again and try other dishes on the menu.

Had them before at a different location, so not surprised that their vermicelli with grilled beef is tasty. Wasnt really happy about their cripsy spring rolls as the vegetarian one didnt really have flavour. We usually have from a different resto, one which has chicken.

This restaurant has the best PHO in the city. Has a good set of menu to offer, lots of varieties. Their P1 or the restaurant s special pho is a sure hit as well as their fried spring roll.

The first restaurant I ve ever been since I came to Toronto and the taste from then was absolutely amazing!! I went back again just last week with my mother-in-law and aunt-in-law. This place still holds my number 1 spot for Vietnamese food.

Tucked away in a rather industrial area you can smell the wafts of char grilled meats before even entering the restaurant. We ordered a rice dish with grilled pork and fried eggs (if you like your eggs runny better ask because they are done over hard here). The spring rolls you can pass on as they are very oily and even the meat ones barely have any meat in them. For $3.50 a pop definitely leaves more to be desired.

Nice broth, but they don t have tripe! If you can live with that, then it s a decent place for some tripe-less pho.

Came here for a quick meal on Thursday, we ordered 2 pho dac biet, $14.50 each for a small bowl and it was extremely underwhelming. One bowl was missing tripe and tendon, while the other bowl was missing tripe, tendon and brisket. Not sure how they call this a dac biet if its missing more than half the items. The tea served was very watered down, probably just kept pouring water over and over again into the kettle. This place is catered to non-asians, that is why their reviews are so high. Will never come back again.

Less authentic (no beef tendons, no tripes in their pho menu; no grilled pork steamed rolls too!) with few Vietnamese clients than other Vietnamese restaurants. Its a Vietnamese restaurant that suits local Canadians taste. The portion is generous though.

We came to Lac Vien as a group of 3 on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the grilled chicken and beef with rice combo, my partner got the house special pho, and my friend got a vermicelli noodle bowl. Since we were catching up after a long time, I didnt get photos of the others food, but my food photo is attached. We all felt the service was great! We wrote down our orders, and the server went over it once more with us before she took it to the kitchen. Our food came out around the same time; it was delicious, and the portions were a good size. The servers came by to fill up our water, and it wasnt difficult to get a hold of a server at all. Overall, we had we enjoyed our time at Lac Vien.

Tasty pho! The food is delicious and the service is quick and efficient. I ordered the beef satay pho, made with chilli oil. If you re a fan of spice, I highly recommend it. For choice of atmosphere, you can be seated inside or on the patio. If you choose the patio though, beware of the wasps! Overall great experience. I will definitely be back.

Simple surroundings - anything but simple food. Weve eaten here countless times at Lac Vien and it never disappoints. The tofu pad thai was sweet and tangy, and my husband loved his pork chop + egg breakfast. Attentive, polite service and easy parking.

Great traditional Vietnamese place. Good Pho

Very fast and friendly service however the food is just average. We ve gotten the pho, vermicelli, and rice dishes and all are good but not outstanding. The Thai style curry does not taste like Thai curry at all and definitely do not recommend if you re looking for a classic Thai curry.

Been ordering their amazing Vietnamese food by delivery consistently for three years and it s amazing every time!

Not sure what happened to this place. Pho was super bland. Pork and chicken rice was bland. No flavour in the meats, had to drown them with hoisin sauce and black pepper. Pork had a weird texture. Very dry and chewy. Chicken texture was alright. Their chili sauce thats in the clear container tasted sour, almost like a salsa. Price point does not equal quality here. So disappointed....

We had dinner on a Thursday night around 8:30 and were seated immediately. We had a $15.95 large P7 beef satay pho and $14.50 regular P1 house special pho. The noodles and broth were good, but there wasnt as much meat as expected, and the beef was tough in the P7. They gave a lot of bean sprouts and mint though. Overall, the pho didnt stand out from other vietnamese restaurants weve been to. No complaints about the service or atmosphere.

We took a takeout at 1 oclock but surprisingly very busy at that time but the food got ready super fast and it was really diffrent I never had Vietnamese food befor and I really liked it. Food was good, service was actually really good. I like the portions and the speediness - this is a GREAT alternative to pho anh vu, where they take too long and are not attentive but also charging way more than the average pho place.

Me and some coworkers come here at least once a week because of its convenience and good food! The pho and vermicelli are both my go to picks. The menu is very diverse which is great but also becomes one of the downsides because some meals take a long time to make and you will be the last at the table being served
