625 Gerrard St E, Toronto, ON M4M 1Y2, Canada
Traditional Vietnamese fare including noodle soups is served in a simple storefront setting.
The spring rolls are authentic and crunchy and big, not the cheap kind. The pho soup with beef is also amazing. I recommend !
I ordered grilled pork with rice. Very delicious. I ate everything on the plate!!! I will definitely go back to try other dishes.
I’m not sure if there’s any affiliation with the Pho House in Etobicoke, which is my absolute favourite Vietnamese restaurant, but even if there is not wow. The well done beef pho was amazing. Flavourful broth, followed my instructions to a tee (I’m picky with my toppings), succulent pull apart beef and fresh onion and bean sprouts (not an herbs fan so asked for it without). If I am feeling in the need for more protein I just add-on some more, super easy and cost is reasonable. I can confidently say this is my new fave downtown Vietnamese restaurant.
Ordered via SKIP very recently. The shrimp cold rolls - Goi cuon were okay. It was just lettuce, vermicelli and 2 tiny flat shrimps so I could barely taste the shrimps. There were no julienne carrots, cucumbers, and no Asian herbs such as Asian basil, Mint or Perilla. Basic and less traditional. The Beef Bun Rieu was tasty but the soup made me feel bloaded due to the salt. It came with lots of Viet basil, bean sprouts, green chillis and a lime. The Grilled Pork Vermicelli with Spring roll was good. However the veggies in the dish were just julienne lettuce, carrots, cucumber. No traditional Viet herbs or lime. Luckily I used the extra herbs from the Bun Rieu. Pls bring back the herbs as that's what makes Viet food even more refreshing and a stand out.
Small pho place with comfortable seatings.Ordered special beef pho, bun rieu (shrimp egg tomatoes vermicelli soup) & grilled pork & chicken on rice. All tasted good 😋 with reasonable price, all above our expectations.
Found a place that serves bun rieu, it brings back memories of back home in Vietnam so does the pork chop with rice. It's so good, I recommend people to try bun rieu if you like crab and tomatoey soup. Everything is such a good price too, they take debit and credit. Very nice people. Will definitely come back again.
This place has been my go to for pho since I moved to the area 10 years ago. The taste of the broth is unreal, great potion size, quality meat, and friendly and accommodating service. Don’t sleep on this place!
This is a wonderful little hidden gem. It wasn’t particularly busy when I visited. I was a bit concerned at first as usually a busy restaurant is an indication that it’s good. Well busy or not, this place was awesome! Service was great and so was the food. Large portions too!
Always a quick and delectable food experience. They have since moved across the street to a bigger location. Not sure the address.
My go to pho spot on the east end!
Beef tendon and stripe tasted bad
Best Pho broth in the city. Also their other menu items are great. Simple food, but always good, well made, and very satisfying. They are also careful about sensitivities and restrictions. They handle my onion issues very well, and I can trust the food I get there. The owners are a great couple who are always welcoming.
Chicken seemed undercooked, Pork was good though
Very friendly! Great broth! Food
Great broth . Really good and tasty food
Ordered online. Got EVERYTHING wrong. Noodles overcooked, no sauces added, I ordered pho beef and beef balls. nO.beef balls. I order deep fried spring rolls, I got a totally different roll. Just bad overall first experience. Never coming back. Very bad quality meat.
Bad service. Bland and boring food.
Hello, Pho House. I ordered fried tofu on Uber Eats and got some raw beef dish. Try to get your orders right. Seems like a basic thing. Also there is no contact info on Uber Eats
My absolute favourite place for pho in the city! Friendly staff, and EXCELLENT food.
The worst ph Ive ever had, the soup is extremely bitter, onions are large chunks instead of thinly shaved and the noodles are overcooked. Quality has gone downhill since the change from Ph East. Decent fried springrolls.
My fav pho place in east chinatown. I like their broth, doesnt have the strong after taste like the other pho places. Loses stars because the price has gone up so much. Use to be 13-14 dollars for a extra large pho. now its 21.50. that is nuts, with that you can get so many more other stuff.
best pho in town
Pho it up!
Amazing food, amazing service. Anything I get is tasty and made with love. This place is killer! Food : 5/5
Really good food, great service and very relaxed atmosphere
On a cold Thursday evening, walking away from a crushing evening, walked into a an empty pho restaurant. The place wasnt welcoming, as I sat I noticed German precision. She can asked to questions and recommend two things in 2 seconds. As I was asking myself, where is the care, the warmth and meaning in life, then came the hot Pho with some steamed rolls. I found my answer at the bottom of the bowl and found the meaning of life when she asked how was the food?. My mask smiled.
Parking: Green P parking close by Food
Best Pho place in the city! Amazing staff and food.
Good place to get some Pho
Amazing and affordable Vietnamese restaurant. The first time we went we try the broth that is really tasty! The amount of noodles and meet is more than enough for the price that you pay. We order the size L and we barely could finish it. They have a quick service! Worth it! They also have other dishes that are worth trying.
Great place. Pho was very good! Dishes were made with lots of love
I ordered a vegetable pho (+chicken), and it was amazing!! it was so refreshing. Also I love how even though they close at 10:30pm, they still let us dine in and were very welcoming! Food
Been going here for 16 or 17 years at least, love the pho sate! Best spring rolls in Toronto. Friendly owners
Super tasty broth makes this pho great
The pho broth here is delish. I highly recommend the green onion pancakes, they are sooo yummy. The drip coffee was also quite refreshing, it is quite strong! There s lots of street parking so that was nice and they accept credit and debit (we found pho shops around the area often only take cash). Overall it was a really good spot and the perfect comfort food.
Never disappointed. Always a pleasure. Prices are always low
Place is a banger. Will come back when I m in the area for sure
Best pho in Town
Got the 101 house special & bun bo hue, both were very clean and delicious!
Order made on Doordash. From my order, the beef and balls soup was horrendous. The broth was nothing more than boiled water and a large amount of salt. There was only one beef ball cut in half to appear to look like two was added. There was no Sriracha included. The container the soup was in was very small considering it was apparantly a large size. The fried spring rolls tasted very bad. The filling was mostly potato with very little meat. The shrimp rolls were of below average quality. Will never order from here again.
Ordered chicken and beef ball pho for delivery. The best part was the Thai Basil and the noodles. The broth was essentially chicken stock and everything else tasted off including the spouts. Right into the garbage. Don t waste your time and money.
Good food. My grilled chicken and spring roll on a bed of vermicelli was tasty. Simple low key restaurant.
Pros: Service was quick and attentive. There was a decent selection of tables to sit at around 2pm on a Saturday. Cons: The pho tasted bland and watered down. The vermicelli dish cost $13 for just 1 spring roll, 1 meat skewer and far too much noodles.
The food was really, really bad. We ordered two different noodle soups, one with beef, the other with chicken, they tasted the exact same . The only difference was the meat, and that was disgusting. The beef was green and blue in some spots, and seemed the lowest possible quality. The broth was alright, but just absolutely not worth the price. If youre looking for soup, I wouldnt recommend
My familys go-to for pho here since I was a kid. My own go-to is a bowl with tripe and tendon. Dont sleep on the coffee with condensed milk - rich and chocolatey.
Ive gone here a couple times! Great food, great prices! Come here for delicious Vietnamese food at a great price. The decor is old styled but it feels more nostalgic than outdated. The staff were very accommodating and kind as well. Pix: chicken dumplings, fried squid, shrimp paste of sugar cane, vermicelli fish sate, beef pho, fried udon w beef
Absolutely Fantastic, everything about this restaurant is phenomenal. From the food to the warming decor, the amazing staff and the love put into every dish
Extraordinarily disgusting, oily and tasteless, and I mean completely tasteless seafood stir fry. Neither stirred nor fried. Boiled, but not enough to thaw one of the two shrimps I found within this grey, soupy concoction along with the overcooked noodles. It was a couple of hours ago and the shrimp - still thawing in my gut - tells me to never, ever go there again. Massively un-recommended.
Authentic pho and vibes
Tasty food, quick service.
If you want late dinner this place closes late and has delicious Pho
Always my go to place for Vietnamese food. Staff are nice, food is good, prices are decent. The cold tea hits the spot in the hot weather.
Ordered pho and bun Bo hue and really enjoyed both. They were very accommodating to my toddler and even brought us out scissors to cut up the noodles for her without us even asking. We went on a weeknight and had no issues getting street parking right outside.
Have been eating in this place 4 years. Nothing too outstanding but its definitely above average. If youre in this area I definitely suggest having a quick dinner. Would miss this place even after moving from Toronto.
this place is very good. if you eat here you will become rich and famous and get many woman s
First time I ordered from here they delivered the wrong order to me but the next time I ordered from them about a week later I recieved the correct order and it was absolutely delicious. Service though at the restaurant is not very good, the woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude.
A very friendly and tasty family run restaurant. The pho and vermicelli was huge and the service was great for an incredibly reasonable price!
Got a takeout house special pho. Good portion of both noodles and meat, however the broth was not good. Tasted too salty, almost like there was too much fish sauce.
Absolute gem of a restaurant. Well priced, opened til a decent time, and always quick. We frequent this spot at least once a week by the third week, they already knew what we would order and would send us off with a See you next week! The staff is great and it s a wonderful spot to fill your belly under $50 (for 2 people). Their fried and fresh rolls are a must!
Recently dropped by for wonton soup and deep fried tofu and surprisingly, the total came to approx. 17$. That is a great price for what i ordered.
Totally solid Vietnamese place. I always get the vermicelli (bun).
This is my favourite Phô place in downtown Toronto. It doesnt look like much but its a solid bet. Its always good with good service. If you want good food with no frills, come eat here. Food
Lovely little Vietnamese restaurant in East Chinatown. Authentic and delicious tasting food. Always friendly service, clean (the bathroom always smells nice!), my go-to place in the area for Vietnamese food which is saying something... Theres about 6 other Vietnamese restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Also, as a bonus, my toddler LOVES the porkchop. Kid-friendliness: Booster seats, high chairs and just very friendly attitude towards kids.
The best pho in town. The owners are so lovely.
I love this place, I have been ordering and coming here for years, generous portions, they are always nice and the food is so good.
Not a very upscale place
So damn pricey, and to a Vietnamese, your food is a SHAME! Check your Tomyum broth please, nothing more than some random sour water.
Good service and authentic food.
The best pho in downtown Toronto!
Great place love the raw beef pho and com
Sweet spot to get amazing authentic mom and pops pho. The people here are lovely and the service is great!
Great late night eats here with fast and friendly service!
Tasty pho - service always friendly !
The soup noodle has no taste, soup contains lots of MSG.
very yummy excellent vegetarian pho
Love it. Classic Vietnamese cuisine. Delicious and well priced. I need one of these in KY neighborhood. Pay attention avenue and eglinton! Pho broth was great and my Vermicelli was better than expected. Food was fresh and came out at a decent time.
Nostalgia got the better of me and decided to dine here on a cold night. Just like its decor, the quality of its food are both stuck in the 90s. While its peers who decided to move north into Scarborough, Markham and Vaughn have far surpassed Pho Houses quality and value, because of stiff competition. Not saying they have to reinvent the wheel, just invest in better quality ingredients is a good start.
Everything was barely warm even though we came during lunch. Nothing, not even the broth or tea was hot. Noodles tasted stale and old. Service required chasing after people for them to help us. Generous portion of meat for pho however. That was the one positive.
Update: The prices have definitely taken an increase since my last review. The food and the amount is the same. I am going to take 1 star away because the prices have now blown up. Original Post: Good menu selection. Prices are fair these days with $15 XL beef noodle soup. Theyre pretty competitive. Typically quiet but food is what youd expect from a Viet Pho restaurant.
Very affordable and some huge portions. Nice cozy feeling and there s bottomless green tea as well. I ve been coming for almost 10 years and I have no intention on stopping. I always get the rare beef pho #118 I recommend it.
Extensive menu. Recommend ordering the vermicelli dishes with grilled pork and spring rolls. Their grilled pork chop with a fried egg on rice is tasty too. Service is fast. Ordering take-out is a breeze - you call in your order by menu item number and the order is ready in 20 mins tops.
the second worst pho ive ever had in toronto. it has changed owners for sure. And the owner wasnt giving proper bills.
Very bad fried chicken wings, pho with one beef ball and hardly any rare beef just a rip off restaurant
Quick service. Tasty broth, oodles of noodles (bit much in my opinion). If you plan to have appetizers a small bowl of ph might be enough but I was able to finish the large and a plate of fried tofu (nicely squishy). Utensils, condiments (including chili oil) and napkins are on every table. Tap not functional on pin pads. Public bathrooms on lower level.
Nice spot
Good food, fast service. We wull be back
I wonder the restaurant has changed the chef? I ordered a signature house special beef noodle soup,The beef was tasty but soup and noodles feels like pouring a packet of salt into a bowl of boiling water. It is not only tasteless but also salty. It is so salty that you will cry
Incredible food, great prices and lovely service! Will be coming back here!
Awesome food, try out the Pho or any of the rice dishes
Excellent no frills family run restaurant. Excellent meat balls and shrimp on sugar cane, tasty avocado shake and friendly service. Will come back again
Atmosphere is stunning, food is fantastic , shrimp were delicious. Can t wait to visit again !
The worst bun and fresh roll Ive ever had. They used tiny little shrimps in the fresh roll and the dipping sauce was terrible. All the protein parts of the minced shrimp, beef and meatball bun were off taste too.
Have loved the place for years. Great food, all the kinds of Pho you want and many other Vietnamese dishes. Pad Thai as well. The best spring rolls/wraps fresh or fried. My favourite place for a Vietnamese food dix in Toronto and the owners are hard working and very kind.
One of my favourite Pho restaurants where my family and I have been going to for probably 10+ years now. Super efficient and quick service as we are regulars and always know our order haha. Recommend the house pho and spring rolls! It never disappoints and I will always continue to support this small family owned business :)
Needs a good cleaning and coat of paint.. but soup was delicious..
Ive always enjoyed the food here. Its comfort food.
Ordered hot & sour, Tom yum & pho soups for my family through ubereats - containers are half full, so we paid $50 for less than 1 cup of soup each? That is crazy and a rip off! I also ordered a milkshake but received a regular iced coffee. Super disappointed, feels like the restaurant is taking advantage of delivery orders. Giving 3 stars since when we have visited the restaurant in the past, 1+ years ago, portions were good.
This used to be my go to spot.. food was usually delicious and fairly priced. Was super disappointed with my recent take out order though. Ordered Tom yum and Tom Kha soup, it tasted like pure boiled water, had no taste and they put rotten bokchoy in it (when it s light green and wilted you know it s past due). I understand food prices are crazy but ripping off customers and potentially causing illness isn t the solution.
My friend has been bragging about this restaurant for a long time. Shes right....good food & prices. Owned & run by a lovely & friendly family.
Vegetarian options: They have vegetable spring roll..Taste never change for the last 8 years... Food
Love it here... Visit at least 1-2 times weekly. Love the seafood pho. Their cold Vietnamese coffee is the best. Love the staff as they are very friendly.
Fantastic food
Great Vietnamese food. Owners are hard workers and super friendly. Highly recommend
Vegetarian options: I love the food. The owner and employees are friendly.
best spring roll in this area. We just ordered a takeout of just spring rolls because they are so good!
Is my favourite place to get beef noodle soup. Ive been to a lot of other places not very good at all
The food quality was ok, however the customer service and experience was horrible. i placed two orders of the porkchops and rice and once i went into the store and paid, the store owner confirmed the order twice along with the phone number. When i got home, i realized. they had missed half the order and my partner and i had to share one plate. i called the store and asked them nicely to send a driver out and i would pay the extra fees (because i was starving), but, all they cared about was arguing and proving their point. They stated i am responsible for the missing item because i did not double check at the store. THAT IS NOT MY JOB. Long story short, i hung up. Never will i support this business again.
Never disappointed... My go-to for pho in this part of town.
We ordered from DoorDash based on their ratings and were very disappointed. The rolls were very good. That s about it. My partner s soup was just ok, my Tom Kha was definitely not Tom Kha. We each ordered a salad. His bbq chicken was sad- see pictured- but not as sad as my shrimp avocado. The avocado was not ripe and the shrimp were not deveined. Not impressed at all.
Well, its kinda good but theres only one waiter or waitress and they have to serve like all 16 tables by themselves so the food kind of taken long time to come to our table
good food
After a long day ordered from hereafter night and was thoroughly impressed! Really hit this spot! So fresh so good!!!
Very fresh food, very tasty, super nice owners and we were in and out in a jiffy!
BEST PHO IN TORONTO!!
Great family-owned business. I have been coming here for years for their Tom yum and bun. Delicious!!!
Good food reasonable prices. Does takeout.
This place should not be in business, ordered $50 worth of food for 2 people for dinner last night using Door Dash, the dishes were supposed to come with 3 types of pork each and spring rolls, there was zero meat on one dish, and a tiny amount on the other which was totally dry and disgusting. The 2 milk shakes were also terrible, $50 worth of food went straight to the garbage and we ended up ordering Pizza at 10pm. Dont waste your money and save yourself the disappointment.
The service, is good. Food is delicious . But, the price went up drastically. I miss the time when I can buy $7 meal . My family have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 yrs. Theres plenty of options. I havent try all. But, were happy to stick with what we have been ordering.
Their Satay Beef is a solid choice for those craving for some extra spicy kick. Dont forget to add chilly oil for numbness. A side of BBq beef takes this dish to a whole new level.
Pogchamp food and service
Friendly staff and delicious food!
Great pho
Food was ok but they don t have medium size pho. It s a cheap trick. They force you to buy large since small might not be enough. Don t cheat on your customers like that !! You will get paid more with tips if you satisfy them anyways. When I see these kind of foolish stuff, it just make me think what those people can t do for some extra money in the back kitchen ??
The decor is not great, but if the food is your only concern, this is the place for you. We were a party of four and each of us ordered a different style of food. All agreed their dish was excellent. A second visit confirmed the first visit. Its slightly pricyer than similar places in the neighborhood, but can you put a price on flavor?
This is amazing place for some delicious Pho during cold winter season! They have the right flavor and amazing quantity. Super filing and the broth has perfect seasoning with right amount of vegetables. The staff is friendly and super clean. The price is very reasonable. The decor is not that great but hey who cares when the food and price is THAT amazing. My husband and I go here once a week for our date night!
Overpriced and mediocre
Great place, enjoyable fare. If you are in the hood, good place to spend some time with your friends.
Wonderful pho place! I always visit at least once a week. The broth is light, flavourful and delicious.
Best Pho in town. Friendly crew
Good pho was had by all.
Best Pho in Toronto! Amazing staff
Great food!
Its always a pleasure for our family to dine at this restaurant. You really need to try the Saté (spicy) Pho soup...! Mango & smoothies are a must. Lets not forget the beef vermicelli with spring rolls, fresh rolls and the list goes on...! Amazing place, totally worth it!
This is a gem in hiding. I have walked by many times and decided to pop in and have dinner here. The service was spectacular and the food was yummy. I will be back definitely
Delicious
Amazingly fast service for delicious pho with super delicious homemade fat noodles. Viet food with all the trimmings!
Nice clean place with extensive menu. I had deep fried chicken wings and beef pho (small). My guest had vegetable pho. We were both stuffed by the end of the meal. I also a crisp, clean Heineken bottle which was only 4 dollars. Great experience and great value. I suspect we will be back soon.
Delicious food and very clean! Friendly staff and just overall a great dining experience. Loved it :)
Flavour of the soup is great! Pricing and size is on point!
Good Pho
We love PHO!
Delicious
I love this place. I come here almost every week. When I go to other Pho restaurants I end up thinking about this place. I usually get the large vegetarian Pho and I am 100% satisfied with a smile on my face when I leave. Its simple and classic with a winning recipe and very affordable.
I ordered through Uber eats. Not bad but definitely not worth the price and there are plenty of better options in the vicinity. I ordered a beef ball noodle soup and got a measly 1 BEEF BALL cut in half. My fresh spring roll (2 pieces) had the equivalent of 1 full shrimp. I definitely will not order from here again.
Absolutely disgusting
Love this place. Very good pho, on the lighter side in terms of aromatics and richness for delivered pho, and the Cha Gio (sp?) are great. Good value for the downtown core. 4 stars here. 5 stars because when I had a bonehead Uber Eats guy spill my broth all over the entire bag, a quick call to the restaurant had the owner himself come to my condo and replenish the broth. Great service.
Love this place. So reliably good, always amazing pho broth, and really nice owners/servers.
Delicious pho, big portions, and great prices.
Very friendly service
The food was bland and meat felt stale. Not impressed with the quality of Pho.
Great service and great food.
Delicious pho, shrimp spring rolls and taro salad. Super inexpensive for the portion sizes.
Got to dine here the evening before modified Stage 2 goes live later past midnight. It was a good enough last indoor meal before closure again for an uncertain amount of time. Ive been to a lot of other comparable Pho places and this particular does nothing to stand out. It is your typical dine and dash restaurant. Ive had Pho with richer and thicker broth. The sweet, chili sauce they had served in our table was very wattery and does not have viscosity in it. The indoor setting and furniture was plain and dull. What I did like and can commend was the good service we received. We were served by 2 different waitresses because the 1st one ended her shift. Both were very exceptional in catering to our table.
Great service. Very friendly and fast. Easy take out place in the neighbourhood
Ive been coming to Pho House for the past couple of years now and have found their food and service to be reliably good. As I dont eat meat, I appreciate that they offer vegetarian broth for their pho. I also really enjoy their fresh rolls and bun bowls.
Bad
I saw they did soup so dirty and Boss really not nice! Never comeback!!!
I craved some pho and being close to small Chinatown it would be a sin not to fulfill your own desires. Menu is enormous but as I have checked online first and also based on the pictures I picked what seemed fine. Soup made me full for a half day with a good after taste. Warning for portion sizing - if you want something small just ask what small here looks like ;) Place frequented rather by the locals, which added to the experience.
I just love this spot and people there are nice
Decent and authentic viet food considering the area is changing so much
