VUA Sandwich & Le Poke Station specialized in Bahn Mi, Poke Bowls & Sushi. It originated from Montreal & this is the first location in Toronto
Somewhat easy to miss if you're not actively looking for this place, but I found the concept of a combination Poke+Banh Mi place to be really unique! The Poke portions are pretty good and will definitely fill you up. They also have Banh Mi but I would consider it to be slightly above average on price. Worth checking out if you want to have multiple options for a quick bite!
Ordered from Le Poke Station during the lunch hour on a weekday. The Sama bowl was good although a little bit on the pricier side. Most of the ingredients were good and fresh, especially the mango and the fish. The service was a bit slow, they seemed short staffed. I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for a poke bowl as the flavours hit the mark.
This is a no-fuss, fresh, pleasant place that serves excellent poké and rolls. They give you a really good amount of fish in each serving. Would highly recommend!
A solid lunchtime spot and haul of a Tofu and Veggie Bánh Mì! Dope experience, yet hard to go wrong really. A perfectly crusty, yet soft and doughy baguette stuffed with super yummy ingredients and would definitely recommend. Support local businesses!
Got a delicious salmon poke bowl. Large portions and fresh ingredients. I love their spicy mayo sauce and all the toppings flavours come together harmoniously. Fast and friendly service, it’s perfect to grab for dinner after work when you’re too busy to cook.
Sama Bowl. Honestly one of the best poke bolws I've ever had. Super fresh ingredients (and loads of them) and super fresh warm rice every time I've been. The fish is tasty and so are the sauces. A big variety of umami flavours in one bowl!
Decided to try out this new restaurant (I think this is a chain from Montreal) and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Saigon banh mi, grilled beef banh mi, and tartare saumon (interesting fusion sushi wrapped in rice paper and bugle bits??). When we got to the counter to pay, we noticed they had a soft opening promo $5 off $25 and $12 off $50, so we decided to order the takoyaki as well. All in, the meal was under $25! The takoyaki was delicious, very fresh and crispy and each ball had a big piece of octopus and it wasn’t all batter like some places can be. I also really enjoyed the rice paper fusion sushi. Overall great value and I will be back!
Excellent value for quality eats! Discovered this near work at Bay and Gerrard. Only opened last week. The inside was clean and minimalist. Friendly staff. Has food options that go beyond Vietnamese cuisine. The Saigon Banh Mi sandwich was fully loaded with fresh ingredients, and quite large for a $6 sandwich. Would have loved every bite, had the bun been slight toasted. Was a bit on the chewy side, but still very good. Spring roll appetizer didn't seem to be the authentic Vietnamese style, but still tasty, crispy and inexpensive. $2.99 for 4 pcs. Wonton soup with tom yum broth was the star of the show. Broth was very rich and tangy with a little spicy kick and fish sauce backbone. All this for $14. tax in was a great deal considering it was enough to feed two semi-hungry people. This will be a regular spot for me.
They dont behave like professional way. Their approach arent good.
Love it and come again
Nice Poke. I got stucked in the bathroom!!
Specifically asked if the salmon in the salmon bowl is grilled. She said yes. Its raw
Solid Banh mi! Got the Saigon sandwich and it was fresh and delicious. Minus one star because $10 but what can you do!
Good service
Their banh mi always tastes authentic and delicious. Same with when I went this week, but the lady at the cash was on the phone with her bluetooth earbuds the whole time she took my order and didnt speak a word to me. The miso soup I got also tasted very sour (like overly fermented).
Good bowls, food looks fresh and well cooked. Service could improve, but overall great place.
We were looking for a good price place to dine in and we found Le Poke. We ordered and had the food. We liked the food . There s nothing I wouldn t like.It was a good restaurant.
What an abysmal amount of tuna in a bowl full of cheap veggies for $19 and they have the gall to ask for a tip for this? Never going there again!
Good Bahn Mi
Yesterday, I visited this place and experienced the worst customer service that I have ever experienced at any food chain/restaurant. I advise anyone who does not want to be treated so poorly and degraded as I have to NOT visit this place. I bought a tuna bowl for $20.33 (which is quite pricy for a poke bowl), came home, and started mixing my bowl. When I was mixing, I noticed a strand of reddish-brown hair that was slightly longer than my fingers. I have long, dark brown hair with bleached highlights, so it could not have been in my hair. I decided to go back to the place because I haven t taken a single bite out of my bowl and I noticed a strand of hair. Initially, I was expecting them to make a new bowl for me. When I arrived, I calmly and nicely let the cashier know that I found a piece of hair in my food and that I haven t touched the food yet. Then the lady with reddish brown, bob-cut hair came over, examined the food, and without talking to me, snatched the entire bowl with the piece of hair inside and proceeded to stomp over to the trashcan and slam the bowl into the trash. Then she stomped back to the register, visibly angry, and started searching for my order on her POS system. Then she demanded for my card number, which I refused to give out as it was private information, to which she responded by yelling I need your card number to check if it is you that paid . At this point, it was clear to me that she was trying to accuse me of lying and stealing money from her. I kept repeating that I cannot give her my card number and instead I showed her the Apple Pay notification that tells you how much you paid and where. Then she rudely tossed the debit machine at me and told me to use the card to get a refund. The refund did not work, even after I tried using my physical card. The lady just kept rudely telling me to do it again, and then when another customer came, she left to take their order. When she left to make the new customer s order, the cashier who was originally standing there offered to pay me back in cash and I agreed to take cash. As soon as the cashier opened the register to start counting the cash, the lady with the red-brown hair ran over again only to yell at me that she can t and will not give me a refund in cash because then she needs to personally pay back the register the amount that they refund me back with her own cash. She then continuously yelled at me that she will not give me back a refund in cash 4-5 times. Then the cashier suggested that they will make a new bowl for me as the POS system and the debit machine werent working. At this point, I really wanted a refund due to the extremely poor customer service, but it seemed like I had no choice and I did not want to continue fighting with the lady who was trying her hardest to not refund me back my money, so I agreed to her suggestion. After the lady finished making my new bowl, she called me over, shoved the bowl into my face, and yelled YOU check if theres any hair in there. To which I responded that I cannot tell as all of the ingredients are stacked on top of each other. Then she packed my bowl into a bag and tossed it to me. I have never felt so degraded at any food stores or restaurants like this before. The way that the lady treated me was infuriating; she tried her hardest to dehumanize me by accusing me of putting the hair into my food and attacking me by yelling constantly. Due to the customer service, I do not recommend anyone to visit this place. It is not worth a try for the customer service that you will receive.
It s a little hard to understand the menu but the quality is great! It s huge and tasty
Tasty banh mi, fair prices!
Delicious bowls. I have ordered takeout at least 5 times, highly recommend trying supreme bowl if you are hungry Recommended dishes
Their Ebi tempura is great!
Delicious Banh Mi sandwiches and poke bowls.
Bahn mi was good and the employee seemed nice
Place was empty. Vietnamese coffee was to sweet and saw it was premafe then mixed. Wouldnt go back for cafe sua da...
Love their poke bowls! Perfect for a workday lunch. Clean restaurant and fast service always :) Big proportions too Food
Large portions, great taste, fresh ingredients, nice place to have a lunch
Really cute quiet place for lunch. The food was pretty good, the portions were pretty big. Id go back.
Absolutely amazing food.
Love their banh mi!!! I always get the Saigon banh mi!
Never go to these people Customers services is very bad. Never recommend Food
Unfortunately I was throwing up within 30 minutes of eating the food I got from here. Something sat incredibly wrong in my system. I got the shrimp and crab bowl. I don t usually bother writing reviews, especially negative ones, but this seemed enough of a health concern to do so. Please be cautious eating here.
Food poisoning issues at this location.
STAY AWAY! My co-worker and I went to grab Poke bowls for lunch (Sama Bowl). Throwing up within 20 min of eating our food. Felt nauseous while eating and shortly after was vomiting. Now noticing other reviews it seems this place has an issue with not servicing fresh or properly handled food, beware. When calling the restaurant back the person who answered could not speak English as I was trying to advise her whatever she served me was bad to avoid other customers getting sick. After 5 min of trying to explain, she did not understand and I hung up. NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN.
I usually don t like eating meat in raw but my friend encouraged me to try their poke bowl, and guess what, come out I really like it. The recipe is delicious, full of freshness with crisp cucumber, crunchy onion and juicy tomato . The yami salmon appears incredibly fresh, with its glistening surface and absent of any unpleasant smells. The poke bowl incorporates umami-rich ingredients like soy sauce, seaweed and sesame. Large amount is worth the price. Highly recommended!
Amazing sushi at this place, its made fresh and tastes really fresh. Def recommend, customer service was great, the cashier is really friendly and talkative. :)
One of the best Takoyaki Ive ever had. Really fresh and warm, perfect for a mid-winter snack. The cashier is really friendly and nice, would recommend!!
Great customer service; the employees were very nice and the food was prepared with beautiful presentation. It has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere and the portion was great for the amount you pay! Would definitely recommend dining here.
The saigon sandwiches are a must!! The bread is really fresh and the vegetables are very fresh. 100% recommend this place, must try
The delivery was quick and the food came fresh and undamaged. Ordered the Sama Bowl and the fish was really fresh and delicious. If youre looking for a place to eat, I would recommend this place!!
The banh mi was very fresh and the bread was just right. The beef tasted very fresh and the sauce is really good. Customer service was great, I love the cashier she is very pretty and nice. Environment is a great place if you want a quiet place to work and eat. 100% recommend.
Great customer service, amazing cashier, she was very nice and considerate and was very patient. I loved the tempura at this place and the banh mi is really fresh and good. Great quiet space to get some school work done. Must go here, 100% recommend!!
Vua has fresh poke balls, and amazing bahn mi sanwitches!
If youre looking for a cozy environment with great food, this is the place!
Was there on Monday with a friend, within 10 minutes of eating our poke bowls, I had the spicy tuna and my friend had the sama bowl we were both projectile vomiting at work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. And having your friends and family write your reviews to cover the real ones don t work. Funny how all the new reviews come after all the people you poisoned.
Got a banh me sammich today. Its pretty good..but its missing something..maybe more seasoning on chicken or longer marinating or salt ..it needs a bit more something and itll be perfect . That being said, its a decent size for when you arent super hungry. All in all, Id get it again. Also, the service was really friendly and quick
I was starving the other day and stopped by for a chicken banh mi. The banh mi was fresh and delicious. Looking forward to returning and trying out new options.
4th time ordering online, price of $52 for two people and once again weve been waiting for over an hour for our order and it still hasnt arrived. We had called in advance to ask for the delivery time which was estimated at 45 minutes and we were told that there was no crowd this evening, so it should go quickly. Expect to wait 1.5 hours on average (weve already waited longer). The food is good, but there are sometimes omissions and above all the delivery time is unacceptable, especially considering the price. ***update: we got a credit for the wait time. We were told that the delay of more than 45 minutes (1h28 at the moment.. still not arrived) was linked to the fact that it is Friday***
Great bahn mi and poke bowls
Really hit or miss. First time was good. So I ordered a second time a month later and it was warm sushi. No one likes warm/hot sushi. The rice was mushy and overcooked. The salmon nigiri was like a glob of mush and can t even taste the salmon. Not a fan of this time! Not cheap for what you get either
I have ordered their salmon bowl several times and they are very addictive. They have many different options to customize your poke bowl depending on your mood. For veggie toppings I like to choose stir-fried shiitake, mango, beets and kimchi, For crunchy toppings I like to choose spicy peanuts and pumpkin seeds. There is a good balance of all toppings in each bowl and each bite is a different experience. A must try if you are in the area.
Great maki rolls for an affordable price. Definitely will be my go-to sushi spot.
Delicious poke bowl! I very much enjoyed the Supreme poke bowl with spicy scallops, salmon and tuna etc. great portion and affordable.
Had the katsu poke bowl. It was excellent.
the best restaurant ever in Toronto!!!!!!!!!! I love it so much!
The tasty wrap and comfort zoom keep me coming back and they also have fast delivering.
This food taste good, have to try
Fresh food with good quality. Great place to go after touring the city hall.
Our poke bowls were really good. Friendly and courteous service.
Amazing. Great portion sizes. Great price. Great sandwiches!
Perfect Banh Mi. Felt like I was back in Ho Chi Minh.
Ive been here before today was absolutely horrendous. stale bread green ham spent 16.00 plus tip
They make really good Banh mi. I love the saigon banh mi. Everyone should try
Le Poke Station has the best poké bowl I ve ever had in my life. Enough said.
Ordered grilled beef sandwich was not grilled beef. Was corned beef type of patty. Not grilled was put into a.microwave oven Asked for a different sandwich did not like options. Cashier would not give me a refund. Returned food . No refund dont remomended goin. I would like my money back
Enjoyed the food here! Stopped by on my lunch break and also ordered food to take home.
Not real authentic Vietnamese banh mi , I had the pork one , the meat was not fresh and very hard to chew , my stomach still remembers this low quality , please avoid that place !!!
High quality and delicious Bah Mi s and the staff is very helpful and friendly as well. Highly recommend!
Amazing Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwiches!!! I ordered the Saigon sandwich as well as the chicken sandwich and it honestly tastes really authentic. Tons of variety and glad to see a Vietnamese cuisine restaurant on Bay Street. Check them out, you won t be disappointed.
I ordered this due to a deal, and was so impressed! The value is almost unheard of in this area of the city, and the food was great. I got a BBQ pork banh mi, and its one of the best Ive had in a while. Great bread, loads of veggies, and succulent BBQ pork. Super more-ish! I also got a wonton soup (half tom yum, half chicken) and it was lovely. Will order again, a great addition to the neighborhood!
When growing meeting with VUA! I like it!
Definitely deserves a 5-star rating just based on the friendly service we got today.
The sushi size are double the normal size. Flavourful and crunchy. Banh Mis were great. Worth checking out.
Loved their poke bowl and the banh Mi sandwich.
Loved the iced Vietnamese coffee. Strong flavour and perfectl iced on a hot day.
First and last time I m buying from this place. There is maybe 20g of salmon in this wrap. It cost $9. Absolute trash.
Really tasty and big portion! Will definitely return.
Been here multiple times, delicious poke bowls and bánh mìs!
Way better than Banh Mi Boys
had the iced viet coffee and grilled pork banhmi. the coffee was good, not very strong or sweet. it is not made to order. the banhmi, the bun quality distracted me from the flavour of the fillings. the bun was chewy and not fresh, it was a struggle to eat with the fillings falling out. need to find a better bread supplier, Vua. the service on the other hand was 5 stars!
I have tried 3-4 times. They serve very good food. The noodle soup or wonton soup is real chicken soup, very tasty. My daughter loves it. TONGYUM is my favourite! A very good choice in downtown.
I have been this place number of times now. The staff are so nice! The food was just incredible. They are new but they definitely make my first time a great one!
I tried the grill pork banh mi it was amazing!! It is a franchise originated from Montreal, so the bread/bang mi are like a mix of French style baguette and the Viet banh mi bread. It is crispy outside, and very soft in the inside.
It s nothing like Vua Sandwiches in Montreal. Banh mi is super soggy and the bread is so chewy I thought I was getting TMJ. I have a pretty low standard but no doubt this was and will be the worst banh mi I ll ever get.
The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. I had the grilled beef Banh mi and spring rolls. The food was delicious and fresh!
I am a regular of Vua in Montreal. I am happy that they finally opened one in Trt even though theres no size options and higher price. The flavour is similar but those bread...are bad. It should be a bit harder than ur normal sandwich bread as it is baguette style, but this one is way too chewy, which means it is stale. Heating it up in oven will help make it lighter and crispier though. Another disappointment is the vegeterian banh mi, which they put eggplant instead of fried tofu in the original version. I am just not a fan of eggplant :( Overall, I hope the bread quality can be improved!
Weve only ordered the vietnamese sandwiches so far. The prices are a bit higher than the ones you can get in chinatown but still very affordable. The different options are great and I find it pretty filling for lunch.
