The steak is amazing!!! Our waitress Tao was amazing as well. She s the sweetest. Great service and fully recommend!! Definitely worth a visit or 2 or 3 or more. Love this place as a Toronto local:)

Took forever to get seated, servers rude and unfriendly. We left and wouldnt come back

I really didnt want to go into a long rant about how bad this experience was, so Ill try to keep it short.... I made reservations on YOUR website that allowed me to choose to sit on the patio. When I arrived the first thing Im told is we dont take reservations for the patio.. But Ill check to see if we have availability.. And they did.. Not a good start.. Wanted Mussels for appetizer but didnt have.. Ok.. Went with ceasar salad instead.. Probably the worst ceasar we have ever tried.. Bruschetta was probably the best thing we had and it was average at best.. Wifes bolognese was decent.. My Lamb chops looked like they came from a malnourished lamb and had no sides.. I am writing this from a restaurant that we went to after we left this restaurant.. I am not a big eater, or picky when it comes to portion size... No idea how they have a 4.6 on google.. There is Zero chance this place is anything above 4.0.. Do not recommend!

Great atmosphere, tasty food and polite service

We had a great experience with good friends last night at Sotto Voce. This is a small intimate pasta and wine bar with a great vibe. The personalized service provided by Mel, Hailley and Teo was outstanding. The pasta dishes we ordered were all very good and we look forward to coming back here again soon.

A bit disturbed by my experience eating here... overheard a staff member being screamed at in the kitchen during my meal last night... I dont eat out often and look forward to the peace of a lovely meal but this was quite the opposite. Not only did it ruin my experience but I also felt bad for the staff.

Food was great- but my walllet was pickpocketed there by 2 other customers. Waitress could care less just said gypsies . Anelise or whatever her name was terrible offered no help or even asked for my name and info. Totally unsafe environment Food

We loved Sotto Voce! We went yesterday for my birthday and Emalina was such a great server! Would definitely come back. :)

Service and atmosphere was amazing! The servers are super kind and helpful. The food, however, was pretty mediocre. We had the bruschetta, the carbonara, the steak with caramelized onions, and the gnocchi. The carbonara was delicious and the bruschetta was decent. The steak was not great. There was a wine sauce or something on it and it just sort of made the steak taste way too acidic. It was not a great flavour. The gnocchi was also just a strange combination of flavours. I thought the sauce was pretty boring but paired with the cherry tomatoes, again, it gave it a sort of acidic taste that didn t really work with the overall flavour. Overall, a good place for snacks and cocktails and vibes, but I wouldn t eat dinner here again.

It s a bit noisy if full but it s okay

Giving 2 stars only because we were disappointed. They must have overbooked. We made a reservation and were directed to the sister restaurant next store to wait for our table. Waited over 40 minutes and bought two drinks that were not worth the price. Didn t receive an email or phone call or notification for when our table would be ready. It seemed they forgot about our reservation and didn t notify us that we wouldn t be getting a table. The staff are wonderful and attentive. I hope to visit this establishment again in the near future as I ve always had a positive experience in the past, I hope for a similar experience again in the future.

Great service. Really good food, but the menu is old and needs a refresh. It doesn t seem to have changed in well over a year. Unfortunately, they pump the music up so much after 9:00, you can barely hear the person next to you.

Been there for my bff s birthday and everything was PERFECT! I loved my steak so much, they made it in a unique shape and for the quality the price was so cheap. The waitress was super kind and friendly. I forgot to ask her name but she definitely needs a praise!!

This place was such a huge disappointment, the food was mediocre and the drinks horrible. This is a dive bar pretending to be a wine bar. The staff is incompetent or maybe it s just poorly managed but I ll never be back here. So many better restaurants in the city.

Change, inevitable. Consistency, priceless. SV never stumbles with delivery. A couple of very recent visits allowed for the most by enjoyable dining out experiences in a while. Staff know what they are doing and obv so does management. Watching grace and solid delivery under pressure when things are bumping is a true measure of great staffing. I think her name is Tao (apologies if spelling is incorrect) Cool and serene as a swan on top but paddling at warp speed under the water no doubt. Can never underestimate the tiny but mighty SV. Oh, and did I mention the food? We ll be back again.

What an unsuspecting Tuesday night at this amazing spot! Looking for delicious pasta paired with unforgettable wines? Try Sotto Voce! I had the Del Mare and it was mmm mmm good! Nikola, our waitress, is not your basic server. She s witty, attentive, familiar with the menu and sets the mood by keeping you vibin while you eat/drink to the sounds of her playlists. We are definitely coming back and owe it all to her and this gem in the crown of College St., Toronto.

The bartender was such a sweet person, very attentive and knows how to make great cocktails. The experience here was so memorable and we will definitely be back. This is a great date night spot and the food was amazing. I love how they brought out the dishes one by one. They are very attention to detail here! 10/10 recommend.

Had some great pasta dishes, the blood orange salad, and bruschetta. Lovely ambiance.

Great vibe in this intimate bar. We got the carpaccio, shrimp pasta, and steak. All of which were excellent. The shrimp pasta was our favourite, it was more flavourful than your average tomato sauce and is a great choice. The vibe with the candle lighting and the great playlist was very enjoyable. The service was attentive and pleasant, made us feel very well taken care of. The best part of the night was when the staff surprised by friend with a slice of cake with a candle while she got the room to sing happy birthday. Our server was so sweet to do that for us, I wish we grabbed their name. The cake and singing was such a great memory and we look forward to coming back.

Neat place with authentic Italian food. Friendly service. Excellent place for people watching along College. The risotto was yummy! And my Negroni was A+!!

The atmosphere here is intimate yet lively, we sat next to the open window seats and were even visited by a Dalmatian while sipping our cocktails. I like that this is a place set up in a way to allow for special little moments like that. With each dish we ordered, my boyfriend and I looked at each other wide eyed bc of the beautiful, unique melody of flavours. Before our pasta dishes arrived a different passing waitress hand picked our wines for us according to our meals and brought us bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and olives that was really sweet and the kind of thing that just makes you smile. Though I m saddened by the way our main waitress treated me throughout the night. For some reason they would not even glance at me and would only speak directly to my boyfriend, sometimes even turning their body to me, all while constantly touching his arm and back. I was addressed only twice that night, at the beginning and at the end, and not with any of the warmth afforded to my boyfriend. There was not only a stark difference in how she treated us individually, but how the two other servers who checked in on us treated me they actually spoke and looked at me and were very warm and sweet. I m not asking to be treated like a princess but I would at least like to be acknowledged and respected, especially when I couldn t have done anything to elicit that cold treatment. It was also my birthday. We didn t tell the staff but it was, and I hand picked this Italian restaurant of all the others in the surrounding area. I really did enjoy my night and I do think this place is really special, though that regrettably left a bad taste in my mouth, otherwise I have nothing but good things to say.

Probably the worst service I ve ever gotten. Even though we told one server that we were headed to the bathroom, once we returned our drinks were swiped from the table. When I asked about our drinks, another server just gave me a blank stare and told me that he thought we left. The guy had absolutely no intention of remaking our drinks. No communication among staff, we had no clue who was in charge of our table. The only redeeming thing were the drinks were well balanced and made very well. But that s pretty much it. Won t be returning.

Very cool, small spot in Little Italy. Appetizers and entrees all tasted great and you could tell everything was freshly prepared. Service was prompt and efficient. Great place for people watching as the evening got busier!

Loved everything about this Italian wine bar! Went with six friend for a girl s night out. Excellent selection of wine, food was delicious and seasoned beautifully, best espresso martini I ve ever had. Service impeccable and ambience was lively and fun (we went on a Monday and it was hopping!) Will definitely be back Lisa Dietary restrictions: I have Celiac disease and they accommodated me very well. Server was very well informed as was the kitchen. Many options to choose from

Had a great time with my husband. It s been quite some time that I remember having laughed so much with the girls Jasmin and Emalia were great. Food and wine was amazing, I recommend the Pecorino white wine and the dal mare pasta . Beautiful service and great music the ambiance was great. Definitely going to be my new date night spot. Hands down best espresso martini and tiramisu in the city. Cheers

I really like Sotto Voce as much as I like Zitto Zitto. Its a place with an amazing atmosphere and good. Staff is very friendly and makes the experience even better. The owner is always around and making sure that everyone is taken care of. Ive been there a few times and definitely going back for more :)

Cute little spot! Pasta was prepared well, really flavourful, presentation and variety in appetizers was great. Cocktails weren t bad, the espresso martini was sweeter than I m used to from other places, the negroni was a bit watered down.

My all time favourite restaurant m for dinner and cocktails. We moved away and haven t been in almost 10 years, just went back for dinner and it was just as good as we remembered it. Great friendly service, amazing food, perfect cocktails.

Delicious food and great service. We were a table of 5 and we shared food and a few bottles of wine family style. Some of the dishes that really stood out were the meatballs, Aglio e Olio, Campagne (italian sausage and gnocchi), and the mussels. The prices of everything are reasonable and the service was great! Ill definitely be back.

Fun joint for private parties or just a social bar

The restaurant seemed like it had a nice vibe. It was busy when we go there so we waited a bit for someone to come greet us to say something, anything lol. When no one did we thought maybe they were too busy so we began to leave. As we got out the door the owner/manager followed us out and asked if we wanted to sit and we said yes but no one had come, he apologized to us and then told off the wait staff in font of everyone right there. It was uncomfortable and as a result we didnt receive the warmest reception from the servers, obviously.They were cold and a bit rude and I wanted to leave right then and there but felt obligated to stay as such a scene was already made. The food was pretty good. The owner/manager dissapeared and never made an appearance again while we were there. Just an awkward experience over all.

A lovely restaurant I found when looking for the best Italian restaurants in Little Italy, Toronto. It fits the title; the atmosphere is quant and lovely, the food is fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The prices are more than affordable for the quality. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone in the area!

The food was amazing. We had the steak, lobster pasta, bolognese, salad and meatballs. Every dish was spectacular. The drinks were amazing and the service and atmosphere was fantastic. Can t raid to recommend this place and come back here again!

Walked in with no reservations this Saturday night around 8pm and the manager immediately sat us. Staff was extremely friendly. Great vibe in the place. Not too loud so you can have a conversation without shouting or straining to hear. Tables arent on top of each other like in most places. Food was excellent - had the sweet potato soup special (delicious), romana salad (Caesar dressing is fantastic), a very yummy risotto special and the branzino. Will definitely be going back. Thanks!

Awesome spot! We had the carpaccio, crostini with goat cheese and figs, del mare pasta and the lobster ravioli. All of the food was delicious and cocktails were great too! Service was perfect. Very cute patio for a summer dinner.

Worst customer service ever. The portion size of the pasta was so small, and when we asked to speak to the manager, the manager barged in and started yelling at us. Didn t give us a chance to speak at all. I am beyond shocked at the service. This place is the biggest rip off, don t waste your money or time!

We got the bruschetta and a pasta dish to share. The bread and bruschetta topping was so delicious and kind of fun that you put it on the bread yourself. The pasta dish we got had their tomato sauce with good portions of shrimp. Both really tasty and I would definitely order again. I took a star off for the service. It was disorganized and we had multiple different waitresses coming to our table to take drink orders and food orders after we already ordered and same issue once we asked for the bill.

My fave spot in Little Italy! My friends and I went for the first time fall 2020 when covid first started and since then its been one of our go to spots for dinners out and special occasions. The first time we went was pre-lockdown, and lockdown followed soon after. During lockdown we often stopped by Sotto Voce for take out spicy margs and always were greeted by such kind service and delish drinks. The service is awesome and always makes us feel welcome (even if its just something little like helping get a table, or find a spot to sit during busy hours). All the servers here are awesome (such a good time and have the best style), but definitely owe Jas a big shout out because she completely sold us on this place- shes the best! I guess I should add the food is consistently delicious and the drinks/ wine are amazing. You cant go wrong with whatever you order. I didnt have pics of the food but had some from some good times on the patio.

Great service and good Italian food. Our server (Erica, if Im not mistaken) was very attentive and welcoming. We were a group of three and ordered a bottle of wine with a starter (Beef Carpaccio) with a pasta dish and a steak, and everything was delicious as expected. Great atmosphere and ambiance.

Current pics dont make justice to the place, the vibe there is incredible. We went last-minute on a thursday night and we loved it. But what we loved the most was the food, its been a while since I dont have such a nice meal at a reasonable price..that rissotto was made in heaven and even the wine, a petit syrah for 65$, awesome! Well be back with friends. Not sure if the music was loud because it was almost 10pm (which we liked it dont get me wrong), just want to warn couples on a first date if they want to get to know each other, maybe go earlier!

It was really loud inside. When you book a table and enter the bar, you will need to stand in the narrow entrance awkwardly waiting for someone to finally talk to you and offer your table. Waitress never said their names and pastas (we had Meat pasta and Di Mare (shrimp) are 6 from 10. They offer water and free bread which was fresh. But I would not come here again.

Love this place. The food is unbelievably good I d say the best Italian joint in little Italy (I m local so I ve tried them all!). Patio is great in the summer and staff are friendly.

The Sotto Voce was amazing! We had the best customer service ever with our server Amy. She was the main reason we ended up staying there until close. We would definitely recommend going there and requesting to sit in Amy s section. Her energy is infectious and we didn t have to wait for a thing. It was the perfect environment for food and drinks with a group of friends!

Food was very good....we had bruschetta, spaghetti with oil and chili and rack of lamb. All were well prepared. Decent list of wines by the glass. The server was pleasant. Only negative was that bruschetta had olives with their pits still in...hard to eat.

The bruschetta was elegantly and uniquely presented; you were able to decide how much bruschetta topping was on your crisp, delightfully toasted bread because itbwas served seperately. The vegetarian risotto was delightful and hit the spot just right. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

My partner and I went for dinner last night. We absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was so vibrant yet relaxed. Our food was top notch - the caramelized fig crostini was a highlight. We had the Wild Mushroom Risotto and Gnocchi for our mains and we both loved them. Service was excellent - not sure of their name but it was first class. Highly recommend!

REGULARS ONLY!!!! My co-workers and I decided to try a new restaurant in our neighborhood but to our surprise they have a policy that regulars trump all other patrons whom clearly and pretty bluntly were told that our business means NOTHING! Treated like patrons occupying a tight spot to sit and eat a meal that was not impressing at all. When we were asked to pay our bill and leave because the regulars had arrived and saying of DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT BECAME VERY REAL!!!! HELL NO WE WONT EVER GO AGAIN . WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTURANT TO ANYONE!!!! (if I was able to post this without adding one star I would) FYI, Im wondering if all the positive reviews are from the regular customers???? We had the meatballs which were amazing (loved the pine nuts in it), the duck rage fettuccine was really rich and hit the spot on a cold Toronto night. Finally you also gotta try the mussels which were off the hook! We probably went through two plates of bread soaking up the delicious sauce!

Amazing staff and atmosphere

Very decent Italian food, with an inventive menu and good service. For some reason I have never gone here before, but will be back. Had a stylish crostini appetizer with fresh figs. Nice pasta, served in bowls, which I cannot remember ever having seen before. The gamberetti in my pasta was done perfectly, as were the scallops in my wifes.

It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review, but leaving as unhappy as I did, I felt that I needed to. The customer service at Sotto Voce was a very negative experience- enough so that the 7/7 of us that came here would not return because of it nor recommend this place. Our waitress that worked there last Friday night presented herself as extremely stuck up, rude and unprofessional. She gave us attitude in her responses, presented a lot of impatience and came across as if she highly disliked her job. It wasnt until she handed us the bill that she was insincerely friendly. A restaurant can have great food, but customer service goes hand in hand to what draws customers back to your establishment rather than another restaurant.

An awesome light Italian menu with extraordinary flavours and options. The pasta stands out regularly, particularly the bolognese. The drinks are always on point, with the bartender Jas making sure you re always imbibing the right option for your mood. I don t even bother deciding anymore - Just trust Jas. Honestly, if I was living near Sotto, I don t think I d ever use my kitchen....

The patio in this venue is really something from a movie, the ambience and the busy street at the dusk hour makes it even more special. I decided to come here with my little sister and she quite enjoyed it, the food was extremely tasty we did wait awhile but she was pleased with the pasta. I do however feel 30 for two aperlo spritz is expensive... I would understand if I was at the ritz or something but its college street. We also had a blonde waitress that from the start had a sour attitude. She didn t mention the menu being on the wall so we were a tad confused upon arrival, but the server with the brown hair explained to us there was also a qnr code which she brought over. Working in the service industry usually you thank your guests for coming trying to leave a lasting impression or gain return customers, definitely not worth my 20% tip (But I know there s more to show then just our server). This girls attitude and lack of energy to even be there was very obviously and made things extremely uncomfortable, like common girl would it kill you to smile or at least pretend??

Amazing atmosphere and incredible food!! I came here with 3 other friends to celebrate my bday and the staff was AMAZING!! They went over and above to make the evening special Also... felt completely safe!!

The pasta and bruschetta were excellent. Wine list was good and service really nice. Lots of outside heaters to combat the weather.

The Voce has a fantastic Wild Mushroom Risotto to die for! I got it delivered from them and it arrived still fresh and warm. Its safe to say that they will be my go-to spot for Italian food in the city. Top notch!
