I had my birthday in the event room and can t recommend it enough. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Downtown winery made my night extremely special! Best kept secret for birthdays.

I am not a person to leave reviews unless the service or the product has been exceptional. I have been to downtown winery a number of times and everyone has been super friendly with a great curation of wine. They care and you feel it when you re there!

My husband and I had a great experience at this winery. Their happy hour prices are amazing and you can purchase bottles to take home right at the winery/restaurant. We will definitely be back!

We don t live in Toronto, but every time we visit, we go to the Downtown Winery. We love the wine, the delicious appetizers and the service is amazing. There are so many eateries in Toronto, but we ALWAYS choose to return here

Come here all the time and love the wine! Was here last night with my partner on the patio. Waited a while to have our order taken because the staff members were being rearranged across the patio and indoors so our table got missed. The GM Carrie/kerry/carey (i am sorry i really wish i knew the correct spelling) graciously came by to comp our drinks which was so unexpected and thoughtful. They really take their customer experience seriously and it just warmed my heart! Very sweet and kind people here:) <3 <3 <3 <3

My family and I had a lovely time at Downtown Winery. The staff was incredibly helpful, both in taking/modifying our reservation and being accommodating throughout our visit. The location is fantastic - in a vibrant neighborhood not far from Trinity Bellwoods Park. The ambiance is modern, casual, and industrial, with the added bonus of outdoor seating. We ordered flights to sample the wines (perfect size at 2oz x 3 glasses) and took advantage of their amazing Happy Hour deal (5oz for $5 - you cant beat that!). The snack menu offered a great selection, and we even purchased bottles to go. Most importantly, the wines were delicious! We will definitely be going back again. (Just a heads-up for designated drivers: parking can be limited.)

I come back to this lovely winery time and time again. Amy and Carrie are always so kind and sweet. They have a great selection of wine, a great space and welcoming environment. A Toronto favourite!!

Great place, perfectly located and with an awesome atmosphere. We went there for the happy our. It is incredibly cheaply priced and deliciously good wine.

Downtown winery is by far my favourite place to drink wine. The staff is always so friendly. Carrie the GM always makes our experience even better. The food is amazing along with the wine. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is looking to try! The overall atmosphere is fantastic.

Came here for a friends birthday. We were a large party that walked in and Jazzy was an absolute gem! She made sure to make it special for the birthday girl and was very attentive. She was so helpful when it came to drink selection and had amazing customer service. 10/10

We stumbled upon the Downtown Winery during a walk and what was intended to be a quick glass of wine turned into incredible 5-hour stay, filled with great music from their DJ and excellent wines. The highlight of our night was Alejandra, who took care of us throughout the evening and made our date truly special. She went above and beyond to spoil us, but it was her kind and genuine personality that truly made our night memorable. Alejandra is the true heart of the place, so enthusiastic about working there. The winery has a great ambiance, we felt like we were transported to Europe. We cant stop talking about our experience and we re already looking forward to our next visit. We want to stop by for Happy Hour next time.

My new favourite spot in Toronto! The wine is wonderful and fairly priced, the staff are lovely, particularly the male sommelier who remembered me after only visiting once. Highly recommend for a casual glass or for a social occasion as the environment is laid back but made to entertain.

Overall I had a great experience at the Downtown Winery. Only reason for 4 stars is because I had made a reservation and was 15 minutes late due to traffic. Upon arrival I was told they had just given my table away. Although I couldve called the bar to advise them Id be late, they also have my number from my reservation and could have called to inquire if I still needed the table before giving it away. Alejandra saved the experience and went above and beyond to ensure I got a table and took care of us for the rest of the evening. She completely uplifted my mood and was attentive, gave menu recommendations and was just super pleasant and friendly. This is a great spot to celebrate any special occasion. I was celebrating my 10 year anniversary. Alejandra brought over celebratory champagne for me and my partner which was thoughtful. The ambiance is a cool vibe and the bar decor is cool too. It isnt a huge bar but big enough to host a small party/gathering. Washrooms are single use which is nice but it can get busy - lineup moves fast. The food menu offerings are tasty and the wine options are top notch for such a great value. The have a DJ playing cool Portuguese/Spanish music and the happy hour is a whole vibe. I cant wait to go back and celebrate my upcoming birthday here! Hoping to have Alejandra serve my group.

All I can say is wow!! My partner and I stopped in at the Downtown Winery on Wednesday, March 27 during happy hour (we actually didnt know this until we arrived). We ordered the rose, malbec, and torres vedras featured on the happy hour menu. They were all amazing. I came away with a 1.5L bottle of the torres vedras. We also ordered the black truffle pecorino with honey, and the sardines and olive oils with black truffle potato chips. I am always sold when black truffles are featured. Everything was delicious!! The sardines were the best I have had in a very long time. I will be coming back with my sister as soon as possible.

I came a few days ago for a few drinks during happy hour and absolutely loved it. The space is so beautiful and the staff is so friendly, we were so well serviced and at the end I believe it was the owner who let us know about the live music they have in house on the weekend. Will absolutely be back.

I was eager to experience this establishment, but unfortunately, my excitement was met with disappointment. Despite waiting patiently at our table for 30 minutes, no staff member came to take our order. Instead, they appeared preoccupied with casual conversation at the front, showing no concern for the waiting customers. Regrettably, we left without being acknowledged or attended to. Disappointing service detracted from what could have been an enjoyable experience.

Two of us visited the winery on April 7th, around 6pm, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment we entered we were met with hostility, the host offered us a table in the back, but when we requested to sit at this table more in the sun, we were met with a disgruntled hmmmmmm to which we just requested to sit at the bar (this table was unoccupied the entire time we spent at this bar, and other such tables were also occupied with couples). While at the bar, the service was quite minimal, our server didn t seem to have much knowledge about the wines themselves, and the menu did not come equipped with any vintage information (quite odd for a wine bar). We ordered flights, and were planning on ordering snacks but the server never came back to take our order even though we requested. Once we received the wine, we never received the nuts even though they were being dropped off for everyone around us. The wine itself was okay, typically at a wine bar the staff will offer more insight into what wines to pick, but here it seemed like they were just trying to rush us out. All in all, a terrible time, and I ve never faced service like this on Ossington. I would recommend trying club Paris, bar piquette or one of the other restaurants on the street for a better and more enjoyable wine experience.

Their staff are super friendly, their wine is delicious and affordable and their happy hour is legit the BEST in toronto. 5oz for $5, cant beat it! Great vibe, pretty chill atmosphere. Had a DJ spinning some Mexican tracks which was cool. Arrived during Happy Hour (2 - 6 every day!) so definitely took advantage of the cheap drinks and snacks. It was $5/glass for an assortment of wine/rosé. And $8 for an assortment of snack apps. Cant forget the unlimited corn nuts at the tables! Our server was fantastic and very attentive. Overall a great experience and something that would be worthy of an intimate birthday outing.

Local portuguese family winery based in Toronto. You can order 3x 2oz wine in the flight format to try the various wines. The burrata is pictured and is a massive portion. It doesnt come with bread so you need to order the bread taster. They provide free corn nuts. Minus one star because they were sold out from some of the grapes at the beginning of the night and I had high expectations for a wine bar on a weekend.

Wonderful experience! I was looking for a nice place for my wife and I to go taste different wines and just relax and I was more than pleased. We went mid-day during the week, great ambience, not too many people. The owner and staff were very welcoming. Since we dont know much about wine we went for the Wine Flights which let us taste 3 different wines. We paired that with different cheeses and chilli jam (you need to try the chilli jam w/ cheese!). It was all just too good. Ontop of that they took their time to explain the different wines, where they are from, what the differences are, what people appreciate about the different types etc. it was a great introduction for us to the world of wine. I definitely recommend this place and I will be going back again soon

Came here for the happy hour special - super cute spot! The wine specials and the snacks were good. We tried bee stings, octopus and burrata. The octopus was my favourite. Definitely recommend checking out this place out

Had my birthday here. Downtown Winery kindly accommodated a 25 person party. I preordered some shareables for the table which they had kindly set up prior to everyones arrival. The presentation of the food exceeded expectations. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Very pretty place. We went last night and sat at the bar and the 2 ladies bartending were so friendly and attentive. Wines were very good too!

Recommend going at happy hour if you can (from 2-6p everyday)! Generous wine pours for $5. The servers working that day were very friendly. They appeared to be very focused on cleanliness behind the bar which was great to see! The atmosphere was pleasant, music playing at appropriate volume. Cute, simple decor. We even got a small complementary snack with our wine! We only came for drinks, but we saw some ordering the small plates they offered and they looked good.

A great stop; something different! Cool, elegant ambiance; wonderful service; a really fun evening out. (And Id love to try the tasting room some time....)

I like the server and also enjoy the wine I got. But the disappointing thing is she didnt ask 6oz or 8oz Id like to order. I only asked for a glass of wine and eventually got 8oz which I thought the extra is on the house at the beginning. After I got the bill, I found they charged me 8oz automatically which is different price from the menu. Ive already finished the wine so I can only pay for that. I wish the server could ask how much Id like to order because the menu only shows the price of a glass (I think its usually 6oz) and a bottle. If they ask the customer first, it could really avoid the confusions and complaints.

Went there for drinks and food with friends in a Saturday evening. Staff was friendly. They have some outdoor seating, bar seating, inside tables and really big communal tables in the back. They serve wine and have some food. I enjoyed my time there and the food was good. It was busy but not crazy packed as some other areas on Ossington can be. Nice chill atmosphere.

I had a lovely experience at the Downtown Winery Bar two nights ago! Had a flight of wine and some barrata with thick, sour bread. There is no kitchen per say so meals are hearty, tasty snacks. Joe the manager is really excellent at what he does! My server Louisa was incredibly knowledgable about the wines. The price points are very reasonable. You can even pick up some wine and cheese while there ( as well as other giftables. When we discovered my credit cards were compromised, they did not get angry or embarass me, they did whatever they could to be kind and help me out. This is a great place for a first date and beyond-BTW the food and wine were delicious!

We booked the tasting room on July 29th for a bachelorette and had a wonderful time - it was educational, engaging and very fun!

Visited here last Friday, 18th, had recently arrived from the Uk. It was quiet, the place is really really nice, we sat in the front on a nice big table. We enjoyed the flights and some of food. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable an all round great experience.

Love that place! Unfortunately something happened on may 5th and on august 25th when I saw the same waitress she made me feel like a piece of shot so we just walked out! Luisa was so excited to see me which felt amazing but the waitress that saw us on may 5th held a grudge so now we are never going back there. Love Luisa! Too bad the other one made it that we felt unwelcomed

This is the second time i went to Downtown Winery. i think this place is great, but when we went on Aug 18 after work for Happy Hour, and my colleague ordered a second round of drinks for himself - the waitress told him that our table is cut off from ordering more drinks. Our group was confused so we clarified with another staff, who happened to be behind bar (female blonde) and one of the Managers. She was very helpful, sweet, and kind. She also spoke with the other Manager (male) to find out what had happened because he was the one that instructed the waitress to cut us off. The female Manager (sorry i forgot her name) cleared us in ordering more drinks, but we were still confused why we were cut off because a) we were all over 40yo and def can handle our alcohol b) we only ordered two drinks (5oz each) so far?! c) we were NOT driving d) we can pay for the drinks This really ruined our evening and experience. The female manager made it up by giving us a free drink on the house. What would have been nice and made this experience positive for the remainder of the stay was if the MALE MANAGER came to our table and offered his apology for doing what he did, and what he did was not acceptable and it was rude. He didnt even glance at our table the whole time we were there, its like we were aliens and not worthy of serving. I hope he gets reprimanded for his actions this is not how you treat customers or people. This is why i gave it 1 star for this particular incident.

I would give this amazing spot 11/10 if allowed. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our food and sangria immensely. Shout out on the Burrata, chips with french onion dip, shitake mushroom pate and to the olive oil with balsamic tasting flight. Really happy to have travelled from uptown to find this wonderful gem in Ossington. We look forward to a return. DO NOT MISS IT!

Yesterday evening I held my daughters birthday celebration at DownTown Winery, in their private room. They were the most accommodating before and during our event. It was exceptional service! We were accommodated in every way. At one point we initially believed we had to cancel our party due to numbers but they agreed to move our smaller group to the public space. When I received some last minute RSVPs the evening of, they were most welcoming to move us back into the private room and set up the space at the very last minute. Everyone in our group gave you guys 10/10. We loved trying the various wines on your menu s. The selection of snacks, hors d oeuvres was just right for the evening. To Aimee and my new found buddy, our host, Jenny and everyone else that was on staff last night, thank you! We had a blast. We ll be back soon.

Our server Alejandra was an absolute delight. Her smile was not only beautiful but we always felt she was so genuinely happy to be serving us. Celebrated a friends birthday at Downtown Winery last night. Wine is excellent, atmosphere/music also great, all the staff are so friendly. Apps were delicious. Our server Alejandra was so lovely she helped set up some of the cupcakes I brought for the birthday party and sang happy birthday with us. I would def return for a nice chill night with friends.

I was beyond thrilled to learn that there is a chic winery in the city. I celebrated my birthday with a group of friends at Downtown Winery this past weekend. We attended a Private Wine Tasting Experience (Taste the Rainbow), led by Aimee who was just fabulous. Aimees knowledge and energy made the experience worth it for a group of first-timers. The team at Downtown Winery was amazing when accommodating my requests in terms of food and timing. After the experience, we were having such a great time that we did not want to leave so Aimee and her team moved us to another table to enjoy some more. Overall, incredible atmosphere and team. Im so excited to come back again.

Very enjoyable time at this Ossington winery. Offered are quality wine tasting options and bites. The sitting area is somehow limited, however if you come on time all should be fine. Overall it brings an exciting concept for a different type of city leasure so its very much recommended.

Enjoyed our experience both times we ve come here. First time just my partner and I, where we got the whole private back room to ourselves. Came back with my family for a birthday, and the night before ended up in the hospital. The people at downtown winery were so nice about rescheduling on such short notice. Was able to rebook and had a great time

Found this place by accident! Amazing wine, service is awesome and the snacks are perfect. A perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon or an evening. Great event space or for a romantic drink. You must try the wine flights! We will be back!

Burrata is big.... some are way too small, but this one is worth it.. and a great pesto with it. The wines.. well.. they know a thing or two about that as well! :)

Beautiful, aesthetically pleasing establishment. However, I didn t find the service to be good. I went in with a couple of girlfriends for some drinks and the girls working there didn t seem to care that we were there. They served us our drinks and that was all, didn t ask if we wanted anything else. Just an unpleasant experience, I don t think I d go back.

Dropped by on a Saturday afternoon. The store is absolutely stunning and I received excellent recommendations from the person working (Didnt get her name). Purchased 3 bottles for under $40. Excellent value. Ill definitely be back.

My favourite place ever.

Excellent wines - Im especially a fan of the Malbec, and definitely give the canned wines a try as well! Perfect for a hot day at the park. The customer service is unfailingly warm and friendly. The folks at Downtown Winery truly make it a pleasure to support local.

My boyfriend and I came here once before the pandemic and we decided to come back for a date night and it s so much better than I remember! The olive oil sample is delicious. My favourite was the fish with bread (forget what it s referred to as on the menu). I definitely want to come back and try their fish charcuterie!

Olive oil tasting platter was great Wines were really good. However the server really likes spider holding glasses. She ensured that she touched every wine glass and water glass by the area you drink from with her entire hands/fingers

I absolutely fell in love with this sexy establishment, the moment I found out you can buy the bottles of anything you taste. Amazing wines at great price points, cant go wrong. Staff was wonderful, charming, and created a perfect flight based off my favorite type of red. The place is filled with extra little treats and decadence to bring home and build a wonderful wine tasting of your own.

Had a private tasting here for a friends birthday and it was excellent. Wines are tasty, prices are good, and the space is great. Our only issue was that it was extremely cold inside but I can forgive that given that the vats need to be kept relatively cool.

Newly opened, nice staff, free oil samples (try the garlic) & good wine for a reasonable price. I recommend doing your own flight and trying a few different ones. Fresh trendy atmosphere and they had some Disney playlist on while I was there which definitely earned them bonus points in my book. The full food menu was not available at the time I went, but I ll give them some time to settle in and definitely go back and try some food.

Popped in on our way to dinner the other night. The space is beautiful and the staff friendly. A good start. Then we tried a few flights of their wine. They had quite a few unique varieties that we had never heard of before. They were all good with some I would say as excellent. For me, the Cab Merlot Reserva and the Syrah Reserva were my favorites. Next time we go, well plan to have some of the snacks they offer. By the way, it was so affordable. Not your typical Toronto glass-of-wine prices. Check it out!

Hidden gem in Queen West. This place is a total cultural experience, not to mention the expertise of the staff, who are just delightfully inviting -- you feel part of the family! The interior also is exquisite. Its perfect for a special occasion yet affordable enough to enjoy on the regular. Love this place.

As a total wine novice, this was such a fun experience. They ve got a really interesting selection, and are more than willing to explain the origins, ingredients, and styles. Our server Danielle was fabulous - truly knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to ensure we had a great time while learning something along the way. I have already recommended Downtown Winery to numerous friends and colleagues!

Really nice family run business. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and its a fun experience if youre window shopping on Ossington. Try the Malbec from Argentina, it wont disappoint.

This winery I have been buying from them for awhile now and never a disappointed in the quality and service that they give. For a local winery the staff is very knowledgeable on the products they sell and always will recommend something for you if your undecided on what to get.

Been going for well over a year every six weeks to bottle wine. Have made House Red, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Grigio. For a dollar a bottle you cant go wrong. The Reds taste great with oak added. Pinot Grigio is outstanding.

This is one of my places to go for yummy tasting wine that never gives me a headache.

Have made Cab-Sauv, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, an oaked Chardonnay, and a Riesling at Macedo and my friends and I have enjoyed them all...unfortunately I never seem to get the opportunity to put some down for later......
