Best Chinese food in the area. The staff are friendly even with a bit of a language barrier. And the food is always top notch. I highly recommend the sesame chicken.

So heres my review. Get food today and you could tell we got stuff that was clearly pre-made and sitting around. Getting very tired of a common troupe Im seeing in this area. Crap service with awful food and half a refund when said food was returned because OMG we actually had to eat a bit to know we go food sitting around. So heres my as it was said to me take it or leave it review. Ignorant statement to make in the first place. Dont eat here, clearly it was hard to give a proper refund for shitty food! Save yourself the money and eat elsewhere.

There is only takeout. Food was sub-standard. Rice had burnt oil taste, lemon chicken was chewy and sinew, chop suey was kind of tasteless.

I found THREE HAIRS in my food, I had to throw the entire meal out. Food was extremely wet, when I took it out of the bag I tilted it slightly and a bunch of liquid fell out, onto the floor and other food. The worst fried noodles I ve ever had because they were drowned. I ordered lemon chicken and only got 3 small pieces (also drowned in liquid). This will be the last time I ever go to this place. If there was an option for 0 stars I would chose that.

Picked up $60 worth of Chinese food today. Lemon chicken was so tough you couldn t chew it, veg overcooked and tasteless. Horrible food, if I could give a -00 I would. Never again!! Golden Wok, you should be ashamed to present this food

I checked online and seen it was open till 9 like normal. I call at 8 and get a voice recording that they are closed for like 2 weeks? This ruined my anniversary dinner. Im very upset about this as nothing else was available after this. I had to starve on my own anniversary.. Next time update your hours online! So disappointed

The restaurant seating area was closed but there was take out. The staffs friendly wait was reasonable and the food was delicious. Top stars only come if someone goes beyond normal service.

These people deserve an excellent review; chefs and waitresses. The food is always very gouty and the vegetables are always fresh and the dishes are hot. The lady even found my wallet and had kept my number and called me! I couldn t believe their good hearts! Very good price only negative is the dining room is closed and the waiting time is very long around dinner time. Parking: Parking at the front door!

Good vegan options.

The food here is amazing. The food is flavourful. The veggies are cooked perfect, still have some crunch and are not soggy. Portion sizes are great. Eggs rolls are on the large size, very tasty. From phone call to pick up is what I would expect for this type of food. Depending on the amount ordered. Definitely recommend if your in Quinte west. If your looking to fix a Chinese craving this is a go to spot. Parking: Not a huge number of parking spots but its not currently open for dine in. So no problem with me. Im ushally a take home Chinese food person.

Came from the GTA with so many option, other than a pizza joint, this is the ONLY place I go for take out. Some of the most delicious asian/chinese/oriental food I have had great service and friendly staff! If Im in the mood for take out this is one of the only 2 places I go!

The food was horrible. It was burnt and tasted like charcoal. I called and told the lady and all she said was thank you for calling. I was almost sick after tasting it. Never never again.

Fried rice has a weird metallic taste to it. Dry ribs with very little meat on them. We were both sick within 30 minutes of eating it.

Your menu options arent the greatest for take-out family specials. Fairly plain options that are not customizable, so I ordered elsewhere.

Prepandemic, my husband went here frequently for lunch. I went once (Chinese isnt my favourite). Back then, it was good! Good quality, great prices. We ordered delivery tonight and it was all very bland. Everything was bland! Egg rolls, noodles, rice, ribs were all super bland. We drowned it in soy sauce just for flavor. We wont be back.

First of all, i used to eat here a fair amount and always loved it....fast forward 2 years we decide to treat ourselves and get it delivered instead of going to the restaurant. The honey garlic ribs were dry and stringy like they were made yesterday or at least start of the day (got the food at 6pm took 1 hour to deliver). The beef fried rice was very bland and it tasted like it was just frozen veggies and some beef mixed into steamed rice, it wasnt fried rice and no seasoning that I noticed. My wife ordered Shanghai veg noodles and was the same issue, no flavor. I used to love their egg rolls because they were pretty big and very full, bur this time they were small, mostly air with almost no filling. One was overcooked and the other undercooked and double the size but it was ALL air, it probably had less filling than the small one. Wont order again.

Noodles tasted a little dry and bland but were nice after adding a good amount of soy sauce. Lemon chicken was literally inedible and had a distinct fish flavour/smell as if it was cooked in the same pan/vat as the fish. Disappointing overall.

Just moved to Trenton from Whitby and wanted to try the Chinese food in town. My gosh, it was terrible, I ordered Sweet and Sour Ribs and got instead Sweet and Sour Fat, basically fat in A lot of batter, my wife and I threw it out, actually, after that experience, we threw everything out. I realize that there is not a lot of places to eat in Trenton, but to serve your clients this kind of so called food and expect them to come back due to a lack of competition is not a way to run a business. We will not be going back there again.

First time eating here and maybe the last..... now most of the food was pretty good and the portions were great and I would have given a 4 star rating..... but because my lemon chicken had a fishy/seafood taste to it and very strong fishy after taste I give it a 2... I did not order any seafood dishes so not sure why my chicken was being fried with a seafood dish or if they reused oil from a seafood dish and contaminated my dish or if the chicken had just gone bad but either way this shouldnt happen..... not really sure if Id trust this restaurant again to be honest so Ill probably never go back

Found steel wool pieces in one of the food I ordered from this restaurant. Worst Food I ever had in Canada. I asked for extra spicy for all my dishes but non of them are spicy. Even if it not spicy that would be ok for me. It didn t have any taste to it. It was like burnt soil taste. Singapore noodles is one of the flavourful dish but it was all burnt spice mix taste. I regret I wasted almost $60 in this time of inflation condition. Just a scam through food business. All they need is money from us but they won t give proper tasty food. I will not recommend this place by any chance.

We just purchased a home in trenton and have been renovating it. I called to make sure that they dont use msg as Im extremely allergic to it. They dont. Food was delivered quickly and was delicious and plentiful. Will be a repeat customer for sure. Friendly staff

Worst food on earth

I have been going here for may years and there food was great I have also recommended it to so many people . Tonight we ordered dinner here for my daughters Birthday spent $120 and it was terrible no taste spring rolls were under cooked and the pork slices were so dry and tasteless everything was awful I phoned and first asked if it was no owners or a different cook and was told it was same cook I told her I am a regular customer and was very disappointed at how bad it was and she kind of giggled and told me there was nothing she could do didn t even apologize . I told her that I know what I m going to do and that is never come back and will never recommend it again .

Had takeout twice now. First time found rice very bland. Second time the same. We ordered sweet and sour pork this time. It was 90% batter with a wee thin slice of pork the size of my baby fingernail. I had to disect each piece to find any. They have a lot of vegetables in eith other entries which were fairly good.

Ordered $120 worth of food for my moms birthday party and everyone was sooooo disappointed with the quality of the food it left everyone including my mother very upset. I have added pictures of the food to the images for anyone to see (tho they may be taken down by the powers that be. My dad returned to the restaurant with the majority of the food and they would only credit him back half the bill. What truly disappoints me is I can remember a time when their food was very good and I am very disappointed that their food has gone so downhill and the quality is not better my family and the possibly 15 party guest will NEVER order from here again! If I could of rated them a 0 I would have. The food quality was not worth half the price they charge. Do not waste your money and spare your palettes the disappointment. With over cooked dreid out chicken to breaded shrimp so over fried it looked disgusting, not to mention lemon chicken that had zero lemon flavor, I am truly surprised they are still in business!

Many friends have told me that Golden Wok is the best Chinese food in town. I finally tried them this summer and it has become our go to spot. Staff are so friendly and the food is fresh and good portions. My friends did not steer me wrong. During peak times order ahead of time. They are very organized with pick up time slots but they do fill up.

Huge portions and generous with the veggies for a very affordable price. They do tend to really go heavy with the bean sprouts and their egg rolls are mainly bean sprouts. Their meat portions are not as generous but for the amount you spend still a good deal

Better food than most in area

The food was not good. The seasoning in the food tasted off. The lemon chicken was soggy and the chicken was stringy. The plum sauce is not the normal sweet sauce you get, it did not taste good at all and they wouldn t give more then one per egg roll. They actually told me they had a limit to hand out per order. Meanwhile I only got two packages of soy sauce. I had ordered enough food for 6 people. Try sharing two packages between 6 people. When I got home sauce had leaked from one container all over the order and had soaked the bag. Also the food was cold. I will not be back.

I called today with a friend around 11am when they opened. Every time I would try to choose an item, the lady on the other line would keep repeating, No, no, too busy for that . So finally after 3 times of hearing that I said I will take my business elsewhere and all she said was, Ok, bye . Horrible customer service. Love the food the Szechwan Orange chicken is the best, the mushroom fried rice is excellent as is the Cantonese Lo Mein. We order at least once a month if not more. Miss them now that they are closed hope they open back up soon. Wish them much happiness with the new addition to the family.

We had dinner there and one of the items we ordered was fried rice, the food was delicious however when we came upon a toothpick in the rice we quickly lost our appetite. When we called the server over she acted like she thought we had planted the toothpick there and didnt offer us a new plate of rice but upon our departure they didnt charge us for it We have not gone back since and are telling everyone we come in contact with about our experience and let them decide whether they wish to eat

Love Golden Wok! COVID-19 is difficult for all but Golden Wok have not disappointed us at all. This is our second order since they have re-opened and the food was excellent. The veggies were nice and crisp, the meat/fish cooked to perfection! I called ahead and everything was ready on time. We have been in the area for 3 years and Golden Wok is 1 of our go to restaurants.

This place is an embarrassment for Chinese Food even though its catered for Westerners. We ordered 2 different fried rice (Yang Chow and Chicken). You can tell they got lazy and just sprinkled unmarinated white pieces of chicken onto both fried rice. The Curry is not good either as theres no taste. The lady @ the counter was rude.. I asked for plum sauce for my fried rice. She said the sauce doesnt taste good with the rice.. why do you need it... In my head.. I am like... Lady... you dont know my taste so dont judge plz

Just passing through from Toronto area and didnt expect much but the food here was great and the prices are very reasonable. We had the cantonese chow mein, spicy egg plant, egg foo young, young chow fried rice. All were good!

During the COVID lock down, theyre only pick-up. When it get very busy, they do get behind but are willing to bring your meal out to your vehicle. Meals were not greasy/oily, though my Singapore Noodle meal was grainy from having to much powered spicy. Overall a very tasty meal for a good price.

My partner and I have been eating at Golden Wok every couple weeks for the past two years. We always get the ginger beef and beef black pepper sizzler. Cozy restaurant with the best atmosphere. The owner is incredibly attentive and sweet. She always remembers us, knows our order by heart, and sits us at the same table every single time. Weve been to countless Chinese restaurants across different provinces and states, and this one will always be our favourite. With Covid-19, weve been ordering take out to make sure we can still support our favourite local restaurant :) We cannot say enough great things about this spot. Amazing food, great prices, and lovely people.

I called at 5:30ish PM.. to make a delivery. Now I know times are rough and busy for takeout and delivery. But they tell me on the phone, 7:30 is earliest delivery time. I live, legit, 2 minute walk from this restaurant! So I asked, what if I order over phone and pick up the order.. she says, 7:30pm still. So I figured.. I go ahead and order and do the delivery. She then says 10:00pm it will be delivered!! W.T.F!! 4.5 hours to cook and deliver a meal!!! They close at 9pm!! Yet, food would arrive at 10pm?! Yeah... no. It is now 6:39 pm.. 1 hour later.. and I just finished eating Mommas Diner meal that I ordered and was delivered within 45mins of my call. THATS how you run a business!

I used to love the food here but will NOT be back. Ordered take out and on arrival at requested time i had to wait another 15 mins. The food was tasteless. Wok special chop.suey had a few shrimp and a piece of rock hard pork, it tasted of nothing. the chicken balls were hard and the shrimp rolls were stale. The shrimp was so tough it needed a chain saw to get through it. Never going back. Dont know if its new owners . EDIT... Threw up all night.

When I called to place my order, I was told they would not do substitutions on combo meals because they were busy at the time. I fail to see how being busy would mean they could suddenly not do a substitution. If it was a general rule that they did not do substitutions, thats one thing, but clearly it is something they would do if the restaurant were quiet. It just seemed odd, but I thought little of it and ordered different food instead. I was told there would be a half hour wait until pickup. I arrived just before the half hour was up, and was prepared to wait another 5 or so minutes for them to finish up (most similar restaurants Ive been to quote 20 minutes even if theyre busy), but ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes. 45 minutes to prepare a small order (3 combination plates)? That seemed a bit excessive, but again I figured if the food was amazing, then it is all have been worth it. But alas, the food was only mediocre. Nowhere near the best Chinese food Ive had, even if you discount hakka versions. The food was not very flavourful, and seemed dry (although Im willing to attribute the dryness at least partially to my 20 minute drive home). The one it positive thing I will say about Golden Wok is that their egg rolls are quite a bit larger than typical for their genre of restaurant.

Best Chinese food here in Trenton. Their lunch menu has a good variety; everything from super wonton soup to Genera Tao chicken. Not to mention it s friggin delicious and the portion is incredible for the price. The owner is always friendly and this place is packed during peak hours. Take it from an Asian guy that this is sum good food :)
