Tomasso's Italian Grille in Trenton

Ordered takeout combo pizza and lasagna for my wife Friday night. I experienced stomach discomfort around 3 am and my wife also experienced some gastro discomfort. Odd as we order your food occasionally with no issues. As this was a first occurrence; will be dining in next time.

This is one of my favorite places in the area, I have been more times then I can count the food and service is always amazing.

Great food and great ambience

My fiancé and I eat at at Tomassos every year for our anniversary, always pleased with the food and service, the most recent time we were hoping for a booth but they didn t have any available and after sitting at a table, they came over and offered one the moment it became free, and also gave us a free dessert for our anniversary, wonderful experience and will continue to have anniversary dates there :)

Fantastic food and service

Seated right away to a great table overlooking the river. Food was quick to arrive and delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Staff were amazing.

This was an unfortunate experience. Weve been patrons of Jims/Tomassos for well over 25 years. Always great. Last night was awful. Our 15th anniversary and we were seated in the annex which has zero ambiance and is truly overflow. Chloé was the server and has less and 2 brain cells. The food was wrong and she had no idea what she was doing. I asked if she was high... she was barely adequate...not sure why they would hire people of this caliber. There were other things but this post is already too long. Ive often referred clients to eat here. Not any more...no way. I was so annoyed that I left a despicable tip...honestly I never do that - I believe in the core beliefs of tipping. My husband and I will typically tip at 30-40%. The slowmo server missed out on about $50. Ugh. Done.

You arent allowed to order summer menu items for take out. This is ridiculous..theres literally nothing stopping me from going to the restaurant..ordering the dish. Then immediately asking for a take out container.. This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Service : 1/5

Made my 20th Anniversary very special.

For my mother in laws birthday we went here as a party of greater than 10, which means the tip was already added to the bill. Some of us didn t understand why, and instead of explaining why our server (a blond server) gave us a very disrespectful look and rolled her eyes instead of helping us out. Food was very dry and bland. Rather disappointing, and it was a huge bummer having a rude server. Wouldn t recommend this restaurant and quality has definitely fallen off

Dine in experience: Hostess that seated us was friendly. The food was tremendous. Excellent portions. Very, very well done as far as taste and presentation. 2 adults; we had 2 aps, 2 mains, and 2 desserts, as well as drinks.

Amazing food, wonderful owners.

We had takeout Mediterranean pizza tonight. It was fantastic. It might be the best pizza I ve ever had. There were an abundance of toppings. Every bite was a wonderful taste experience. The crust was perfect. If we re ever back this way again this is where we ll get takeout! We also had seafood fettuccine another night and it too was great. There again they didn t skimp on seafood.

Excellent. It is extremely uncommon to have no criticism these days so saying the meal was flawless is a shock even to me. Parking: Parking is free just up the road depending on time of day. No parking at the location but it is generally easy to find a spot nearby.

The best Italian restaurant I ve personally been to in Ontario. We ve been a number of times & it s for sure one of our favourite local spots overall. Food is fresh, super yummy & flavourful. So many great choices and combinations. Staff are friendly & patient. As well, staff are very personable with my young daughter. The restaurant is lovely inside & out; nice when you can sit out in the patio near the water.

Best pizza around hands down !

We were a couple with four kids from Montreal on a trip around Trenton. Weve heard good things about Tomassos so we thought we might check it out. It was closed on Sundays and Mondays, so Tuesday lunch was our time! We got there around 12:15pm and we were seated on arrival on the beautiful terrace in the back. Our waitress was very kind and quick. We ordered drinks for all of us. I was hesitant in between the wrap and a salad, the waitress suggested the wrap so I went along with it. My husband took the fish and chips and the kids took items from the food menu. Everyone was super happy about their choice + the service was great!! It cost us $122 for a party of 6, which is a great price! We strongly recommend this place!

What an amazing place! The food is delicious out of this world! We had the garlic cheese dough balls for starter, a Penne Diavolo and Fettucini California which were amazing! I highly recommend the Bellini and speciality coffees too. All topped off with great service by Tina who helped guide us through the menu with humour we were the last to leave the restaurant but by no means rushed to finish our meals. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We were a large group on the outdoor terrace .The service that Rich gave us was excellent and fast .The Cesar salad and the garlic bread were among our favorites .All our meals came out at the same time and everyone raved about how good the meals are.If you are ever in Trenton ,this is a top notch restaurant .

My husband Attempted to make anniversary reservation, never felt so rushed off the phone , unacommodated, even after mentioning it s for our anniversary. The person that answered the phone was not in any way interested in us. Appalling actually. Perhaps going elsewhere to have a nice dinner celebration is what we ll do.

Basically a fast food in a nice setting architecture of restaurant is nice but food is bland not what I d consider Italian

Ordered Fettucini Alfredo with Chichen for lunch (delivery) and the sauce was like water. It did not stick to the noodles at all. Such a waste of what I had hoped would be a good meal. First time ordering from there as I had heard rave reviews but I will not return. It was very disappointing.

The food was absolutely delicious with no doubt, and my family and I are people who don t really believe in tipping but the server we had whilst we were eating didn t appreciate that very much. Right after we payed he noticed that on the receipt and literally stormed off, and when we were leaving all of the other servers were greeting us bye except for our server. So this makes me think that the only way he is going to be nice to us is because we are tipping him? Not professional at all.

Went for dinner there on June 7th. Not my first time there but why don t they hire someone at the front desk who can smile? That was my first impression, that is never a good start. Not a smile in her face. She looked bored and not happy to be there. We had a server in training and she was excellent: Very friendly and nice, we even told her. The food is so so. Nothing out of this world but not bad. The location is fantastic and that s why we like to go there once in a while. The view on the river is peaceful! But please make that young girl smile at the front desk or send her home.

This is a fantastic Italian restaurant...the food is fantastic and it has such a great atmosphere. Very fine dining at its best. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. My nephew Chad works there as a cook compliments to him and all the staff that work there. Cheers ...u wont be disappointed

We went for our 2 year anniversary and had an amazing experience. Weve been to Tomassos a number of times in the past but had to make a review after our exceptional service provided by Abby. She was extremely attentive all evening and the restaurant was packed. Any time we had an empty glass or plate she was there to attend to us. So many times at restaurants I find that our server disappears and cannot be found, but Abby was always present and ready to assist us!

My boyfriend and I went to Tomasso s and it was and amazing food, also our servers Shawn and Sinsojan (I don t know if is correct spelling) made a nice atmosphere, they were super nice and friendly, for sure we will back soon!

Been going here for about 16 years. Maybe tonight was a one off, but brought my other half to celebrate her birthday. The waiter, while superficially pleasant, was frankly terrible, not out of any malice, just everything was slow, there were strange breaks in service (like dropping off initial drinks and said hed be right back to take an appetizer order before disappearing for 20+ min). Food arrived, Bruschetta was great. My Pizza had cheese that really looked and tasted like a spiced velveeta cheese, not something youd expect from a higher-end pie. My dates Chicken showed up and literally on going for the first bite discovered a 1.5 inch heavy gauge hair in the salad. No issues sending it back, and accidents happen, but it did make the eating of the meals disconnected as I had to either wait and eat mine cold or eat my meal and eventually watch her eat hers. Maybe we should have read the menu more closely, but both versions of the Chicken showed up with no dressing options at all, just a pile of lettuce and salad veggies. At this point, we just wanted to get out of the place. Thankfully, the restaurant was so kind as to discount the hair-chicken main at 50%. Sure, its not the standard 100% discount but I guess its something. In the end, I think thats it for visiting Tomassos. I used to be able to count on professional food prep and service and instead was met with Pizza Hut level of Quality control at fine dining prices. I never really leave reviews, but thought this one was important. Not saying its not okay, and maybe we just had a bad visit, but itll be a while before I spend money there again.

Tommasos Italian Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. Now, lets talk about the food. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were rich and savory, and the desserts were heavenly. The service was impeccable; our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. The timing of each course was spot on, allowing us to savor each dish without feeling rushed. Overall, Tommasos exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Its clear that they take pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. We cant wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommended!

Appetizers were put fast and delicious ad the main course followed shortly after. 5 stars everything for Tomassos ! Parking: Parking is in a public lot about 60 feet from the restaurant. The parking lot can be quite busy at certain times.

Tomasso s is our favourite restaurant! The food never disappoints! The atmosphere is very relaxing & romantic. The service is always great! The chicken parm is my favourite. And the starter caesar salad! :) And don t forget to try the complimentary fresh loaf and homemade delicious garlic butter. Highly recommend having a nice date night or dinner with family or friends here!

I tried tomassos take out/delivery before and thoroughly enjoyed it so much I had to celebrate my birthday at the restaurant and I was sooo happy I did! Dining in was even better than the takeout! Everything was delicious and perfectly filling. Our waiter was pleasant and quick! Will definitely be back again and again!

We will not be back. This place came as a recommendation. We are new to the area and were very much looking forward to finding a new spot. Sadly, this was definitely not it. We had a reservation for 6 and 2 of our guests whom were coming from Toronto were running about 20 minutes late. No problem for us until we tried to order appetizers while we waited as I was personally starving. Our waiter refused. He would NOT take our order until the 2 additional guests had arrived and we were ready to order our mains. He said the kitchen requires all food to go in at once. He mentioned thid during our 5 minute discussion on why we could not order our appetizers first. I have not ever in my life heard such nonsense. To the owner of this restaurant. Please help that man understand the concept of serving your customer. You are a restaurant, having tables of hungry people denied an order because a guest was late is ridiculous. The concept of an appetizer being an item you eat while you wait needs to be retaught. Once our guests arrived, one of whom was not driving and had just finished a 6 hour drive in traffic and is 6^7 and 300 lbs ordered a drink and a shot, we ate a little and had some water. He ordered a double whiskey sour and the waiter looks at his watch and says oh sorry I can make it a single. You have 10 more minutes before I can serve you that, you can only have 3 drinks per hour so your at your limit. Ok, I can appreciate your doing your job but honestly did you look at him? Did you see he ate? Did you see the water? Did you factor in the food he was about to eat? Did you understand the concept of a few drinks before supper? We had a reservation Thursday May 9th for 8 originally at 8pm, 6 people ended up coming. We sat in the back and I can not for the life of me remember his name but I do encourage a discussion with this employee. Denied the ability to order an appetizer while we waited is such a turn off and I hope to not ever have this happen to any other customer of yours. I cant imagine this is how you do business despite what our waiter had said. I wish I could say I would try again in the future but I wont. Beautiful restaurant and I really did love the atmosphere. Its a real shame that we were given this waiter. We will not be back nor do we have anything to say when it comes to recommending this restaurant. Only take away for me is that I tipped him too much and honestly I wish I could take my tip back because he really did not deserve it.

Second visit, good ambiance and large food portion - almost justifies pricing. First time visiting as part of an all female group (10 or more auto 18% gratuity irregardless of service). The male server seemed to be training two others, which could account for some curtness/apparent attitude. Wine special (discount per bottle) was announced after drink orders were already delivered - one of us had to ask for her wine, apparently it came to the table but was served to someone else ( it definitely came to the table, someone else took it. ) Due to group size, two servers took separate orders. The division wasn t clear (person across from me was taken by other server), but when a friend mentioned jovially that I am a part of their side after all, male waiter remarked that s what I said, if you were paying attention. Finally, after dishes started piling up due to limited space and water jars emptied, I asked waiter for my bill and a to-go box for friend. That s when he took our dishes (I shared apps with neighbour) without asking if we were finished. Also, remarked oh, you brought your own take out container regarding my Tupperware. When I apologetically retrieved 2 items he was removing, he dropped the dishes back on the table and promptly walked away. A waitress brought the requested container. Surprisingly, my $38 order came to $50.56 after tax and gratuity (ordered bruschetta and lasagna), called afterwards to clarify 18% tip non-negotiable due to extra work with larger groups. Manager was amicable and offered gift card, hence remedial rating. General lessons learned: go in groups of 9 or less (people at ends of table won t be able to talk to one another anyway), ask about specials before ordering (drink/food), if eco/$-conscious: get share plates (especially starters, since those who didn t get any will have to wait for mains to be served) to prevent unexpected hunger/bills/food waste

We tried Tamassos for the first time ever last night. Weve always heard rave reviews about the restaurant and finally decided to give it a try. Atmosphere was lovely, the seating wasnt too crowded, lighting was nice. We sat in a smaller booth right by the big windows looking towards the river. Excellent spot to sit. We made a reservation for our Anniversary for 7:00pm, we showed up a few minutes before 7 and they were ready to seat us right away. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was very accommodating and extremely friendly. Food was delicious. While slightly on the pricier side for some stuff, its well worth it. Pricing is justified with the quality and quantity. We spent $100 for the two of us. Thats with 2 appetizers and 2 main courses. Very reasonable and we had leftovers. We got two appetizer to start. The Bruschetta, which was yummy but alittle messy to eat, as Bruschetta can be. I was impressed that they put a very good amount of tomatoes and feta on it. It came with 6 generous size squares on a thick baguette style bread. 10/10 would get again. We also got the Spinach Dip and it was delicious. Generous portions. Lots of bread with the dip. I cant explain how the bread was that came with it, but its so good. Crunchy, but soft, very good. For our main meal we both had to try the pizzas. I tried the Pizza Bianco, a Spring time special they were having. (White sauce, cheese, shrimp, artichoke, arugula). It only comes in Small size (for $24), but after all our appetizers, a small was more than enough. The pizza was cooked perfectly, the Arugula on the pizza was the best part. So glad I decided to try it out. Very tasty pizza. My husband got the Tomassos pizza in a medium ($28) and he was raving about it, said it was well worth the hype. We were stuffed so ended up bringing some leftover pizza home and our lovely waitress also offered us a slice of chocolate mouse cake on the house for our Anniversary. Very nice gesture. Overall, excellent experience and great service. Wish we didnt wait so long to try the place out. I heard it can get kinda busy, so Id recommend a reservation. Lots of sitting inside though. Will be back for sure. Great service and great food! Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian pizzas, pasta dishes, etc. Can be requested to not have certain ingredients. Dinner out with our two adult children who arrived in Trenton on VIA Rail led us to Tomasso s to reconnect. It is a hidden gem in the downtown core backing onto the Trent canal. Great food, drink & entertaining waiter. It was deceiving as once you get inside it s quite a large restaurant. Very clean and well laid out for couples, families like ours or larger groups. We be back!

Just had the most scrumptious dinner at Tomassos! It was a special occasion as it was my in-laws first time dining there, and they were blown away. The food was absolutely divine, leaving us all craving for more. But what truly made the evening exceptional was our server, Chris. He was not only attentive and professional but also incredibly warm and friendly, especially with our little ones. We cant wait to visit Tomassos again soon, thanks to the fantastic experience we had. Highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience!

The house spaghetti baked was the best spaghetti I ve had while dining out.

We have dined at Tommasos for many years and have had fantastic service, fabulous food, and atmosphere. We are there at least once a week. We choose Tommasos tonight for a very special occasion which was ruined by the attitude of the chef. Our guests commented on the aggression and even the teens had better sense of dealing with the situation. Fortunately we love everything else about the restaurant to continue visiting. Is this an Italian restaurant? I m confused because they don t have Margherita Pizza on the menu. They could not do it because not a basil leaf to be found in the whole place??? They have to step up their game if they want people to keep coming when times are tough.

Parking: Its a parking lot. It is asphalt with yellow straps designaty the parking space in and handicapped parking near the entery doors.. Kid-friendliness: I dont but there were no children. There it was all adults. Wheelchair accessibility: The doors are equipped with ramps and have handicapped door which has the doors swing open.

Had a great meal at Tomassos. The service and the atmosphere of the restaurant couldnt be beat. Really enjoyed their pizza and their pasta. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great quality meal in the Trenton area.

Did not make a reservation, Showed up around 6:30 and the only space available was on the patio which was beautiful. Absolutely blown away by how delicious the food was.... I was always looking forward to my next bite.

We had the best customer service and food at Tomassos. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms and my husband ordered the meat lasagna. We both fell in love with the the complimentary bread, lasagna and our server, Tina. She is very friendly and professional. If youre looking for an authentic Italian meal go to Tomassos. Youll be surprised how affordable the meals are. P.S The riverside view is amazing too.

We booked here for Valentines Day. Our table was ready immediately upon our arrival, we were greeted at the desk by 2 smiling ladies who confirmed our reservation. Our server was at our table shortly after we were seated to take our drink order, and continued to be friendly and attentive the entire duration of our meal. The food was excellent and plated professionally for a fine dining experience. This restaurant is worth every single penny and is very reasonably priced for the high level quality food and service youll receive when you dine here. 5 stars all the way!

The service was amazing, and as it was in a small town, the atmosphere was also very welcoming. I loved all the food we ordered; Portobello Pasta, Greek Salad, and their Cheesy Dough balls for appetizers, then the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was great, but I definitely recommend the cheesy dough balls for an appetizer that can be shared easily between 3 people! The only thing I would improve would be their vegetarian and vegan options, as there werent many adjustments possible with other dishes that had chicken, beef, etc..

Pizza is just HUGE and some of the best ingredients, wholesome and fresh.. portion size it not the biggest but we all took something home.. summer must be amazing on the waterfront... Food is great. Service was unusually very slow to start nd then entree came out 2 mins after appetizer. Oh well

We have been coming here for years. We have our annual News years eve dinner there with around 14 people. This year our food was not up to the quality that we ve always had in the past. Chicken was dry, spaghetti noodles were hard, my daughter s chicken burnt on one side and under cooked on the other. I reached out but didn t get a reply. Dropping over $500 for a meal one would expect quality.

We took visiting family to Tomassos, and we were all impressed. The ambiance is modern and attractive, but a bit noisy, because there are no soft surfaces to absorb the sound. OK for six people though, as the tables are well spaced. The menu covers quite a bit of ground: pizzas, pastas, veal, chicken, seafood, steaks. Our server, who was excellent, assured us that their pizzas are the best in the world. Prices are very reasonable, with all entrees except fishermans platter and steak priced under $30. I had the House special spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs ... and pepperoni, onions and green peppers. It really is special. Couldnt eat it all, so enjoyed the rest next morning at breakfast. Based on our experience, its clear why Tomassos has been able to remain in business for more than 50 years.

Went to dinner tonight. Party of 7 at 6pm. Server was either Kevin or Dennis? Bald. This was the BEST waiter I have ever had. Very attentive. Drinks were always full. The foo as usual was delicious. Great atmosphere. My g/f even got a free piece of birthday cake. Just a great night. Thanks Tommasos.

First time here last night and we loved in. We were in Trenton (from kingston) and stopped based on a recommendation. We enjoyed it so much I will be sure to be back. The location, service, and food were top notch. Wife and I loved the ceaser salad, best weve had in a long time if not ever. Thanks for the great experience.

Still the best (04Nov2023) The Jims Combination (pizza) is always so good; just had one this afternoon. My original review starts here... Great restaurant, great service. Had the famous Jims (Trenton) pizza. Im very happy to say Jims Trenton is almost if not identical to Jims Belleville (which is a good thing) but the restaurant is so much nicer which makes it a better Jims pizza. GF had the Trio Milanese; really well prepared. I would also recommend this dish. Will most definitely return on next visit to the Quinte region.

A tad pricy, but amazing food, courteous and thoughtful staff, love sitting at the window tables that overlook the trent river, nice view, esp on a sunny day.

That was my second time there, I usually go with my team when we are in town for meetings. The portions are very generous and the food is good. I liked the big chunks of parmesan cheese. The expresso martini was pretty good as well.

Amazing atmosphere! Food was delicious (chicken parm) and the appetizers were amazing (cheese dough balls, brushcetta, spinach dip). You wont be disappointed!

11/11/23 This was the first time me and my wife have visited Tomassos and did not dissapoint Nathan was our waiter and made our experience awsome. Nathan was relaxed intentive to our table and made sure everything was going smooth. 10/10 Made this set of parents date night a easy relaxing one thank you. Would recommend if your in the area to stop in a grab a bite.

Amazing place, great food and ambiance. Worth travelling to this place.

Very nice place, was a bit disappointed with our visit. Main course was good, ordered the cheesecake for dessert and bottom was hot and melting, middle was frozen. Asked waitress if there was anything we could do, was offered a container to take it home in, so it could thaw on the way. For $10 I expect my food to not be frozen

High quality and made from scratch food! Extremely fast food prep times and price range is in the medium to high area but is worth it for the quality. Try their daiquiris this summer they are some of the best Ive had.

The food is aggressively average. Specifically, I just had the veal Parmesan. It was dry, with the veal overcooked. It was bland as well. Just very unexciting for nearly $30 in Trenton. The service is ok, but the staff are undertrained. Our server was certainly hard working and eager to please, but it would be nice if she had been taught to recommend wine pairings. The decor and atmosphere are casual but pleasant and in good repair.

I ate both inside and have ordered take-away. Fantastic every time. Their cheesy dough balls are delicious

Food was amazing but our server (Jody) wasn t not attentive at all the only time she came to the table was 15 minutes after we sat but there were white rich people she attended to before us we waited an extra 10 minutes just for drinks sad unless you look like you have money do not go

Our server was a friendly and cordial fella who did an amazing job serving our table of 11. Food was nicely presented and tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor was tasteful. I would recommend giving them a try.

Apparently our staff thought they were being ignored. My medium steak arrived medium week but closer to week. They had run out of striploin and offered a tenderloin but it arrived to late and I had to pack it up. BUT OUR SERVER REMOVED MY STEAK FROM THE BILL. KUDOS TO HIM AND MANAGEMENT.
