Phenomenal place! Staff and food is amazing.

Update: others tell me its neverrrrr open. Why? Would like to see the hours long enough to come and sit down here. Seem to close way too soon to actually be able to come and eat here. Sundays should be till 130 too. Also not updated menu online or on their Facebook site. Its all priceless. Seems to be $15 a plate though. Not like the old menu shows. Again. Never open and always closed. Fix your hours! Hire more staff!

This is the best breakfast between Kingston and Toronto. I have seen a few somewhat racist reviews from individuals. This is our Go to for breakfast and I can assure you that everyone is welcome there regardless of what color your skin is. A very ridiculous comment to make. The food is delicious and plentiful and the prices are more than fair. Give Douggies a try and decide for yourself. Parking: LOTS of free parking. Kid-friendliness: Kids are treated special. Ask for the kids pancakes.

We were visiting the area. Looking for somewhere to eat before we hit the beach for the day. Came across this diner and I have to tell you the food blew us away. We were a big group. Some of us got breakfast and some got lunch. Service was excellent, food was excellent. Highly recommend!

Never got a chance to try the food Owner was rude the moment my family and I walked in the door because hes got a sign that says stand by the door, if you ever been in this place there is no room for 4 people to stand at the door anyways he was rude and we left. Dougie needs to learn some customer service skills, he followed my family out the door was shouting at us from across the parking lot because he didnt like that I called him out on his ignorant attitude. If you dont like arrogant ignorant people then avoid this place.

Located a few minutes off of the main drag in Trenton, Dougies diner was truly a real treat! The staff was friendly, attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived to the second we left. I ordered the cudan benny based off the recommendation from our server and absolutely loved it. Plus the homefries are cooked and seasoned exactly the way I like them - flavourful and crispy! I cant wait to show off this hidden gem to my friends and family!

Rundown basement. Food was okay and service was okay but the owner is genuinely unpleasant. Yelling at people for not seeing the sign - at least 3 seperate groups. Moving the sign instead of having tantrums seems like a better business move.

The food and service were good. The diner was very cold and accessibility to anyone with mobility challenges may be difficult. Wheelchair accessibility: No ramps. Diner located in basement down two short flights of stairs. Accessibility concerns.

I have been going to Dougie s for 10 years now. I always enjoy this family run business. Their great food out beats those chain breakfast places. They know and take care of their customers! I love this place, support local!

I walked in here today 8 months pregnant excited to come back here and eat. I was told I could not have my coffee I brought with me in the restaurant if u wanted to stay and eat. Being pregnant I am only allowed 1 coffee a day. Th8s was truly upsetting I was not going to leave my coffee out in the truck to get cold and re heated later. And because of this I was denied service. This was truly upsetting and unfortunately good food or not I will not be returning. What a different experience the first visit to this restaurant was so friendly and good. Really unfortunate their greed over 1 Tim hortans coffee. They where willing to loose 2 customer. And whoever else I share my expereance with.

In regards to the last review, would you bring your own glass of wine to a restaurant? I am not pregnant and allowed to drink as much coffee as I want, so should I bring the whole pot of coffee?

A little hard to find and pretty plain setting but welcoming staff with great service and very good breakfast. Good coffee and fast refills. One issue, walls are cement and reverberations are significant. Can get a loud if friendliness level goes up! Check it out.

I am not the person who posts negative reviews but this place deserves it and specially the server with glasses on as she was very very rude!! She is a Racist and I felt disgusting with her behaviour.

We came in here with our friends on a Sunday morning. Although the food was good, I do want to mention that we were treated indifferent in comparison to others and I must say because we are browns. Another really petty behaviour that I do want to mention is that when one of our friends asked for water the server with the glasses on paused, made a face, and rolled her eyes before serving one glass of water amongst 5 people. Terrible experience. The list goes on and on and I don t want to spend even one more second wasting my time on them. I think this restaurant is still living and serving in the 1960s. FYI it s 2022.

Small home style diner with a fairly extensive breakfast menu. My wife and I ordered the smoke sausage and it was overcooked and a bit tough to chew. The home fries and eggs were cooked as ordered. We were a bit disappointed but since first time visit may have been a one off experience. The waitress was super friendly and the atmosphere comfortable so if Im the area may try it again.

Food is ok, prices are reasonable however the kitchen was quite slow the day I was in (there were 3 other tables) and the server (younger blonde with glasses) has some major attitude. Maybe Ill go back but maybe not.

Food was good and the portions generous. Limited seating and very noisy due to cindrt block walls. Needs acoustic tiles to cut down on noise. CN hear everyones conversation.

We were greeted and served by the owner. Good sandwiches ( Reuben, and a chicken wrap). We loved the small, cozy setting and friendly customers around who guaranteed this was the best diner around!

a hidden treasure of a diner in the best sense. father/daughter cook/server, both friendly and outgoing. we went on a Saturday morning in bad weather so there was no line or waiting, but I understand normally weekends breakfast times are busy and I see why. An interesting and eclectic breakfast menu. Not a fancy place by any stretch but close to perfect in my visit. Wheelchair accessibility: probably difficult. it looks easy from the parking lot but once youre in the front door there is a set of 3-4 steps/stairs down.

Drive by this place all the time so we decided to give it a go. Very dated and cafeteria style like I expected. Food was very fast, presentation was good, unfortunately my wife s omelet was not cooked in spots which enabled her to finish. As for mine.. best meat lovers omelet I ve had in a long time! This was not lacking in any of the meats, tons of cheese and crazy filling. The young server was very friendly.. will definitely give it another go.

Awesome diner. Breakfast is amazing, eggs benedict and corned beef hash are to die for. Some of the negative reviews on here are unfounded. One post gave 2 stars because the restaurant wasnt open. That is unfair if you show up after they close. Please give this hidden gem a try, you wont be disappointed.

Used to be good except they dont wear masks in the kitchen during COVID mask requirements. Will not support this kind of stuff. Hasnt changed since the last time when I asked about masks. Girl at feint even lowered het mask to talk and had to ask her to put her mask back on! Disregard.

They are fast and very friendly and the food is great! Its like one big happy family when there :) They are very welcoming!

Cute out of the way diner, i personally wasnt overly impressed. I ordered the classic breakfast (eggs, home fries, bacon and toast) my scrambled eggs were GREEN (over cooked), the bacon was over cooked to the point where it was so crispy it would have made great bacon crumble for a salad, i realize some people like their bacon like this, I however am not one of them, and I didnt care for the seasoning on the potatoes, they were about the only thing that wasnt overcooked, in fact i had a few pieces that were still crunchy (undercooked) Maybe the cook was having an off day, i dont know

Food not the best, they have a lunch menu, but will not serve lunch on weekends. They also refused to combine tables side to side, to accommodate a group of 7 even if lost of tables were not in use.

My family and I are from out of town, but we went here for brunch one Saturday morning. What an excellent diner! Its a very quiet, family run joint with amazing service. The food was really good, no complaints, all of my family enjoyed their meals as well. And to top it off, it was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Servings are great and well worth the price! Good quality food, pancakes are nice a fluffy and filling. Home fries were yummy and authentic. Coffee and food were hot upon arrival and the wait from walk in to food arriving was by far not the longest we have waited anywhere and for what we got was more than worth it! Its a small spot and well worth the visit.

Used to eat here all the time the place has gone down hill! 45min to get bacon and eggs! Was not even that busy, toast was burnt and bacon was not done. Will not be going back.

What can I say. Its huge portions, great food. The Brenda breakfast will blow away any big breakfast out there. Dougie is a community fixture and his great sense of humour always makes for lively times. A+

This place is your ideal family diner, Karen our hostess was still waking up, but the food was amazing and very delicious. Sausages were perfect so yummy and the home fries just melted in your mouth. This is a must visit hole in the wall.

Very good classic breakfast. Delicious home fries. I had a large breakfast plate of eggs, bacon, sausages, ham and toasts for around 13$ including taxes and 15% tip. So it is a decent price. Small place though, I would not go with a large group (over 4~). I will go again.
