Found The Counter on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Great service from Brendan, and the food was fabulous. BLT was awesome. If you are in Downtown Trenton be sure to stop.

This place is so good. Tell all your friends. Real, delicious ingredients. You can tell there is hard work and intention that goes into their food. My partner and I had the reuben on marble rye and turkey on house made foccacia both with soups, tomato and mushroom. All of it was amazing in its own way. Reasonably priced as well.

Forgot to review until now but the staff are extremely friendly with the food coming pretty quick despite our order being for a family of 9 the place was pretty busy too). The food is also really cheap for how big the portions and good it is too. Def coming again when I m back in the area

Had lunch here with friends I had not seen in over 40 years when visiting from BC. My sandwich and blueberry salad were absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant! Great staff! Thank you!

Had the grilled cheese sandwich and also the tomato fennel soup. Both were so good. If I m being picky, the grilled cheese was a little overcooked. But really so good. My friend had a vegan option that she thought was fantastic.

Super good! We stopped on our way from Montreal to Toronto and it was the best sandwich weve ever eaten. I 100% recommend we had the turkey focaccia and the grilled ...and ommgg it was fresh and perfect! I will return without hesitation

An amazing restaurant with even better service. The owner is super friendly and seems to create a comfortable and cozy environment. We ate on the patio by the water. We will definitely be back soon.

From the moment we walked in the door we were happily greeted. The server we had was extraordinary! We spoke about sharing two different sandwiches and BOOM when our food came it was already split for us !. Now lets talk about the DELICIOUS food. Oh my lanta it was a dance party in my mouth from the first bite. Both sandwiches we got were fantastic. This is our new summer spot! Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing food. Everything is fresh, well thought out and balanced. The soups are always perfection. The focaccia is the best I ve had and the owners are beyond kind. Definitely a place you ll want to support. Oh yeah, try their creme brûlée too. It s a tasty little treat.

After just one meal, I can say without hesitation, that there can t possibly be a better lunch spot in town. The room is great and the same attention to simple details you find in the food is evident everywhere. I wish I was in town longer, just to get a second meal here.

Came in from Florida and found this waterfront gem. This area is transforming into a food scene and this restaurant is leading the way. On-site ownership, great food concepts and food made fresh with local sourced Prince Edward County beverages, meats and produce. We had the special grilled cheese, regular grilled cheese and the outstanding tomato fennel soup. Small size is enough but go for the large.

Yep. The Counter is a gem. The service was first rate and the food is incredible. We tried the daily sandwich, which was a grilled cheese with bacon and spicy jam. Simply tremendous. Give The Counter a try.

Delicious, fresh and unique food that is to die for! The owners and staff are extremely friendly, personable, and show so much care in the quality and service delivered in this restaurant. We had lunch there today. I had the best Reuben sandwich of my life to date. I had the half mushroom soup made from scratch. It was also the best Ive had and twice the size of your regular cup of soup. Great friendly service as well. We will be back. Dean and Shannon, Abbotsford, BC

We had a catered event and the food was not only eye appealing but delicious as well. The soups were stupendous and the sandwiches were spectacular! And I cant forget to mention the amazing salads! They didnt disappoint and will be a go to from now on!

We had the Reuben and the pesto veggie sandwiches. Both were delicious. As a meat lover, I couldn t believe how much I liked the veggie sandwich! It was so flavourful and filling! There s a nearby cafe that should visit here and learn a thing or two.

Visited for the first time and had the Counter corned beef. It was fully loaded and oh so tasty! The service was phenomenal as well and they do have gluten free for those who are considering that. The space seemed clean, nothing spectacular but good enough to eat a soup or sandwich. The alcohol list featured Ontario wines and beers, which I always love to see. Shop local! Amazing place for a great bite to eat in Downtown Trenton. Had the full Chicken Salad Sammy and the Turkey Hammy with cream of mushroom soup. Freshly made and great portions. Topped it off with a homemade creme brule!!

What a wonderful culinary experience. If we could rate higher than 5 stars we would.Generous helpings, made with quality ingredients!! There are enough leftovers that well get another lunch out of it. We had the Reuban with the side Counter salad and the Turkey Sammie with the side Potato salad. The owners are the chefs and staff and were very welcoming. We highly recommend that you give this place a try. We definitely will be back again and again. Next time well try to dine-in.

I had the Rueben sandwich & Coconut Squash soup and it was so filling and delicious. Everything is made from scratch with quality ingredients. Highly recommended!

One of the best Reuben s I have had.

We just had lunch here and it was so amazing both of us said it was the best sandwich we have ever had. You can taste the freshness and ever ingredient. The soup was great and so flavouful. The owners are so friendly. You defiantly need to eat here.

The food is great, but the price is right up there. A sandwich with a side will easily run $20+. Add on a drink and youre probably looking at $25 or so for a decently sized meal. The sandwiches might be a bit more artisanal, but if youre looking for something decent that wont break the bank, Trenton Deli has similar offerings for half the price.

Headed to The Counter for lunch today, and I was not disappointed. Both the service and food were exceptional and I will undoubtedly be visiting again. A great lunch spot with an excellent variety of Soups, Salads, and Sandwiches. The turkey sandwich was amazing, and the squash soup was so tasty.

It was delicious. I had the coconut squash soup and loaded potato salad and my husband had the Rueben. We will definitely go back.

The sandwiches are very pricey and you don t even get a side or drink included. I could probably pay under $20 for an artesian sandwich that actually comes in a combo in Toronto because, that s typical pricing for small business food places in Toronto but I know I d be getting more than just a sandwich.

We had the turkey special today, it was outstanding! With a lovely glass of red wine. Its a great spot on the Trent River. I can hardly wait for the patio season.

The service was excellent. The food was superb. Its a great little soup and sandwich location. They dont have a large selection to choose from, but what they have is very tasty. Well definitely be back in. The only detracting thing is that they have limited seating, but they are opening up an outdoor area, which should help this.

Delicious flavors, absolutely recommend for take out or lunch!! They do an amazing job. This is the beet (yellow beets) salad that was on the menu today.

Great sandwich shop, nice little patio by the Trent River. Had the grilled cheese and coconut curry soup - absolutely perfect. Friends got a few different options and everyone was moaning in ecstacy. Highly recommend it, it was the perfect stop heading home from Bon Echo after a weekend of camping.

My family and I went to the Counter last night for their After Hours event. This meal blew all of my expectations! The presentation, the drink pairings and all of the five courses were FANTASTIC! The service was excellent as well, so worth the price. A wonderful culinary experience and a must if you re in the Quinte West area. I ve been there for a lunch as well a handful of times and they DO NOT disappoint.

I stopped in to buy a corned beef sandwich yesterday. The Counter is a cute and friendly little place. The menu is simple but good. The star of the show was the corned beef sandwich. I have eaten many corned beef sandwiches over my many years, but I have never enjoyed one as much. The beef was delicious. Moist and tender with a great flavour. The mustard had a nice bite, and the marble rye was perfect.

Better than McD or Tim in taste , value and service. This place will grow in popularity. Actually loved their Ruben sandwich. Tasty and juicy with loads of meat. Great value and we only had their half. Food

Wonderful staff and excellent food! My Granny and I were out and about one afternoon and she was hungry so I suggested to try this new place I had heard of. Little did we know it was about to close. We were debating where to go and the very nice gentleman said he would make us food and we could hang out on the patio as they were closing in a few minutes. My Granny got the chicken salad and I had the half Rueben. Portion were very generous and all was delicious!! Highly recommend!!!

We were at The Counter Restaurant today for lunch. I ordered the Bacon & Tomato Sammy & my husband had the Chicken Salad Sammy . Oh my goodness, they were both so delicious! The garlic aioli & the hickory tasting bacon were amazing! I could eat this sandwich every day. The chicken salad had the garlic aioli as well. My husband LOVED it! Be warned, although they are VERY delicious, they can be a bit messy - well worth the mess! Also, they are BIG sandwiches! Definitely recommend - you gotta eat here !

Love The Counter!, excellent quality, tasty food, the tomato and basil soup is the bomb! With a gorgeous view to the Trent River. Courteous friendly staff. Prices are a bit above average but the quality is definitely worth paying for. They do have gluten free bread available as well as local craft ales.

If I may, I would suggest that when presenting a sandwich such as a Reuben on a plate that you might want to add a slice of pickle and/or a smattering of coleslaw. The sandwich looks terribly lonely by itself. Presentation is all part of the restaurant experience. Just a thought.
