I had a lot of expectations for this little retro restaurant with a very attractive menu! I was not disappointed with what we ordered, it was very good! However, the service was pathetic! The waitress took 30 minutes to come see us, we waited another 30 minutes for our plates, we asked her for napkins for the water that had spilled from a glass because the table was not stable and she never came. So I had to get up to go get some and I took the opportunity to tell the counter that we had no service (hoping to change things with my comment, but nothing changed ) He I had to get up to get some mayonnaise and take it from another table because she didnt come back to see us. Our glasses of water were empty for a long time and I had to ask him for more. My meal came with a drink but was never offered to me and I never saw the waitress again so I never had it! I would have understood the lack of attention at the tables if the restaurant had been busy, but that was far from the case. The waitress spent her time hiding in the kitchen instead of taking care of these customers. So even though my teenagers milkshake was incredible, I wont go there again. Too bad, I was so looking forward to going there, waiting so much but ultimately so disappointed!

the waitress didnt make my experience any better, its simple, she made the mistake of asking me for more tips when I had already given her a 15% tip, its very awkward to do that. This is the only thing that bothered me about the service.

Basically, I never received my plate and I had to leave without eating. The restaurant was full when I arrived (Saturday 12:30 p.m.). The waiter at reception, very kind, informed me of a 15-minute delay in getting a table. Carefree. In the end, I was assigned a table in 10 minutes (yayyy!!) and given the menu when I took my seat. The staff is smiling and very welcoming. Everything is going well so far. The restaurant begins to empty, several tables are available, the dinner rush calms down. On the other hand, people seem to forget me at my table. I signal to a waitress after waiting 10 minutes with the menu closed to tell her that I am ready to order. Always smiling, polite, professional and friendly, the waitress apologizes for the delay and takes my order (2 eggs, sausage, toast, breakfast potatoes and fruit). I waited 30 minutes after ordering. My order never arrived. No one ever came to offer me a coffee. No one ever came to inform me of a deadline. The restaurant being half empty at this time (the dinner rush is clearly over), I look around and customers who arrived after me are being served without me having received my order. I feel like a ghost, like I disappeared after giving my order. I ended up getting up and walking out without saying a word after waiting a total of 50 minutes (10 at the entrance, 10 at the table and 30 after ordering) without ever receiving my plate, water or coffee . Im giving 2 stars instead of just one because the staff was really welcoming, kind and smiling, but having lost almost an hour without being able to eat, I am very disappointed with my experience.

We had lunch there as a family and the service was really unpleasant. The waitress had a bad attitude and no manners. The food is definitely not worth the trip and price. The only reason to go there is the scenery, nothing more.

Poutine breakfast with vegetables really not good. Barely any Hollandaise sauce on top, really a very cheap small amount of sauce. Carrots and celery really? Its not a spag sauce! The mimosa was flat and the coffee very ordinary. I wont go back there again. Edit response to owner: you have been misinformed. I never told one of your employees that everything was perfect. I was unable to express my dissatisfaction because no one came to our table between the time of receiving our meal and receiving the bill. Do you have difficulty accepting bad comments to respond to such falsehoods with your little moral of how to act as a customer in these situations?

Le restaurant était plein et le service fût terriblement long (35 minutes pour avoir nos assiettes). Les frites et patates déjeuners beaucoup trop cuites. Et pour ce qui est des salles de bains, cest un sérieux problème : 2 toilettes pour tout le restaurant, cest trop peu. Aucun papier pour essuyer ses mains car ils nen avaient pas commander.

Very small portion and disappointing for the price. Average cleanliness.. bench for my daughter was very dirty, the fruit didnt seem washed. Overcooked sausage, egg that tastes watery, ham that also drips watery and the potatoes, some are cooked and others are very hard, barely cooked. The service also leaves something to be desired. In short, we are disappointed and will not return.

We went there for lunch twice and both times it was impeccable. The service is done with good humor and smiles and the plates are very appetizing. Quality, service, cleanliness and a very pleasant nostalgic decor. Only good!

Was recommended by my daughter. We live in New Brunswick and wanted to try something different. It reminded us our past and the service was second to none. Do yourself a favour and give it a try!

Excellent atmosphere is very good, impeccable service and what can we say about the good lunches. Yum The only downside is that the music is very loud, so it requires us to speak even louder. :) Otherwise everything was perfect :)

****UPDATE BELOW**** After going there for the first time a few months ago with a friend, I returned there with my partner this morning to finally come out very disappointed. The atmosphere comes straight from the 50s and is worth the detour, but the service could seriously be reworked. Be careful, dear restaurateur, not to fall victim to your success. High traffic is not an excuse to make a customer wait 45 minutes before receiving a glass of water or their milkshake, nor to make them wait another 15 minutes for their meal. A total of 1 hour of waiting from the time of ordering to receive the entire lunch is inexcusable. Thats not counting the hair that my partner found in her eggs. In short, a restaurant that is worth the detour once for the decor, with reasonable prices for a classic lunch. If you want fast service, there are several other options on Boulevard des Forges that will meet this need. I have no complaints about the attitude of the employees, they were clearly trying to do the best they could with what they had. I therefore appeal to the owner/manager to take action and improve the management of peak hours in his restaurant. Sometimes all it takes is one bad experience to lose a customer for life. ****UPDATE : Following my comment, the owner took the time to contact me and really seems to want her restaurant to provide adequate service. The intention is there, lets now hope that actions bring about positive change which will earn a 4-5 star rating. For now, Im adding one star for after-sales service and the owners willingness to consider comments, even those that can hurt a reputation.

We went to eat at Binerie Chik on a Friday morning. It was not very busy. Getting a table quickly was not a problem...probably the only positive point. Shortly after we had the waitress who asked us if we wanted coffee. I refused but my partner took some. She came back with her coffee which was already not good. She also took our orders at that same time. She never asked me if I wanted anything to drink other than coffee. Once she came back with the dishes, I didnt even have time to ask her for a drink when she was gone. I try to wave to her as she walks through the room but she never looks up. She never came to check on us during our meal to make sure everything was okay. In short, I had to get up myself and go tell someone that I would just like some water to help my meal go down better. Once finished, it took ten minutes before anyone came up to us to ask if we wanted anything else. I simply replied that I wanted the invoice. Following this request our waitress came to bring our bills and left. It then took fifteen minutes before our waitress came back to charge us. I was very disappointed with the service we received and this experience does not make us want to return.

Je suis agréablement surprise je trouvais quil avait perdu des plumes suite à la pandémie mais cest révolu. Belle ambiance beau restaurent et ce qui est bien cest que maintenant la cuisine est fermé du reste de lendroit.

1st time there, atmosphere was that of a dinner with some showcasing of items popular during its time. Staff was very kind and responsive, when I had requested for popular recommendations showed me and quickly explained the dishes. The meal itself all cooked well and with a good amount of seasoning. [Gave my compliments to the chef] Might return weekly if can afford it as it overall improved my morale/mood.

I have never paid so much for a family lunch in my life seriously it cost me 105.63 for 4 people and the plates are not bigger than other places in terms of space it is very crowded one on the others my fruit crepe didnt even have maple syrup which was very dry and the coffee service ouff you had to stop the waitress when she passed by with always a base of coffee its rare Im a negative critic like that but the price combines with the fact of being crowded and the fact that the children didnt even have a juice included in their brunch which is $20 for me this was the first and last time dsl.

We eat well, almost everything is homemade very good service and a very friendly retro atmosphere

The service was excellent, and the coffee was great all the time! Great atmosphere. The cook who was present at the time was not good. The tomatoes in my club sandwich were not ripe at all and the bread was cut very badly. For example, one of my slices of bread is as wide as it costs. The toasts were also not cooked, there were burnt ends. The crepes are not French crepes (very thin). The servers are professional. They agreed to change their attitude.

Good potential, if only we could have been served... after being assigned a place, we waited 20 minutes without water or coffee, no waitress came to see us. We finally left.

When passing through Trois-Rivières, this is the right place for lunch or dinner. In a 1950s atmosphere, a team of caring young people. I highly recommend.

Small, friendly restaurant with staff and owners who make you want to return. The food is perfect, I highly recommend the plate of cream sugar French toast with bacon. After that, no need to eat for the rest of the day . Of all the times Ive been there, there was only one time where I waited more than 10 minutes to get my meal: I had ordered something unusual and there were a lot of people there so I cant blame anyone but myself. Ill go back to the dining room as soon as possible.

The food is good, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is vintage and pleasant, however the tables are much too close together for my taste, it is difficult to have more delicate conversations with our loved ones, there is no lots of tables so the chances of waiting in line are high, and the tables themselves are often too small - I had to keep the napkins on my lap to make room for the plates! The price is a little expensive, but nothing scandalous.

A real journey through time! The decor is superb, the food is excellent and generous and the value for money is good. Starting this fall, the chik hoe will move to a larger location, on Gene H-Kruger. Once a month, it will be possible to see a music or comedy show on site! This is not to be missed!
