Very nice experience. We had the surprise menu. I took with the wine option and my husband, without. As for the food, I have nothing to say. On the other hand, for the wine pairing, I was not impressed. Even having shared with the waiter who turned out to be the local sommelier, he took it a little personal and was surprised by my words. When it came time to pay, he quickly ran away from our table after payment was approved. I must add that in catering, even a waiter, a well-trimmed beard makes the difference in the experience. I can understand that we perhaps had the ice cream area since this type of restaurant is not unknown to me. But hearing the others and the expressions pushed, I can believe that the servers prefer to put on a show. I must still highlight the teamwork of the servers which was very fluid. The cooking was all VERY well controlled. Total bill: $290 (tip not included) For the atmosphere, the view, the service in general and the quality of the food, it is worth this price and I recommend it.

Le Poivre Noir is a restaurant that offers modern cuisine with a local touch. The dishes are creative and always well presented. Their beef tartare is particularly popular, as are the homemade desserts. The ambiance is elegant and the service is courteous, although a little slow on busy evenings. This is a great place for a classy dinner without being too formal.

The choices are diverse, sophisticated and the presentation is worthy of fine cuisine. It was a delicious evening, I recommend it.

I reserved for 5 p.m., when we arrived no customers, I asked to be seated on the edge of the window with parasol and I was told that everything was reserved but I had reserved. He told us we were the problem. I never thought I would get such an unprofessional response from a place like this. So I advise you to pay attention to misleading comments from people who dont know anything about it before paying $400 for a very disappointing dinner.

Superb first experience at Poivre Noir. My partner and I chose the 5-course tasting menu blindly, with the wine pairing. Beautiful, tasty discoveries that take us out of our comfort zone. The pairing with the wines was perfect, and we made some great finds on that side too. The atmosphere is good, the decor is magnificent with the view of the river and the access to underground parking makes the downtown parking experience very pleasant, which is rare. Price-wise, this is not an establishment to visit on a budget. We left with a bill of over $400 with tax and tip, but we didnt feel like we overpaid. Its worth the detour.

Pretentious and racist. My wife and I came for 2 people, the restaurant was 3/4 empty at 8am in the evening and they dare tell us that there is no room. When there were at least 15 empty tables. And then a group of 4 enters without reservation So the little lady at reception relied on our appearance and our origins not to give us a place, we felt the judgment. But the problem is that the little lady made a bad calculation because we intended to empty the menu. We are from the city so we are used to chic 5-star restaurants, dear Poivre Noir, you have not reinvented the wheel with your pretentious little restaurant and avoid discriminating so as not to end up with legal proceedings.

IMPECCABLE service. We feel so strongly that the customer is important. That was the strongest point for me. Despite an abnormal wait before being served (apparently due to a misunderstanding between servers) they made up for it so well by showing that they were sorry and offering us little extras here and there. The food is very good. Fresh, quality products and the dishes are very well executed. On the other hand, it s not something to be thrown down either. Not so original (lets just say I expected to be more impressed). Small point that I wanted to mention: one of the dishes in the discovery menu tasted like a Big Mac from McDonalds. It wasnt bad (a Big Mac is good), but we found it strangely funny.
