British Fish & Chips Restaurant
The food gets 5 stars while the service was very slow. I do NOT like fish and chips. Honestly, I think the vast majority of fish and chips are bland and rather sad. However, anything made well can overturn that sweeping generalization. And I am proud to say that of all the fish and chips I've had that Harry's is worth it. The fish is perfect. I highly recommend the haddock. The batter is thin, crispy, well seasoned. Not too oily. The chips are great. The tartar sauce is excellent. The curry sauce was very disappointing. It tastes like some cheap powdered Curry sauce and I feel if they put the same love into it as the rest of the stuff, it would be a knock out. But most importantly, Harry's does what a fish and chips place should do well.... The fish and the chips. Having eaten fish and chips on white rock, steveston, Granville Island, Melbourne and across numerous other places, the batter is always too thick so it gets soggy quick or overpowers the fish or is thick and soaked with oil and grease or it is just plain underseaoned which often seems to be the case in The Vancouver area. An aversion to seasoning. Harry's gets it right. It took almost 40 mins to get food while there were only 4 other tables there so that is a negative and they never checked on us to say that the food was going to take a while. So the girl working the front should have been a little more proactive. We happened to be in a particularly patient mood that day so we waited without saying anything.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!, the service is super slow, we ordered took about 30min for the food to arrive. Once we got the food it was overcooked, placed another order as we had the all you can eat thinking it would better than the last one, however which took more than 30 min again also overcooked. The waiter never comes to check if we needed anything or ask how the food is. I RATHER JUST GO TO MALL ACROSS THE STREET CUZ ANYTHING ELSE WOULD BE BETTER BECAUSE IT AINT WORTH IT HERE.
We love all the dishes that we’ve ordered. Everything is very tasty and not greasy. We loved the tartar sauce very much.
Harry’s fish n’ chips took me straight back to the UK! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, light and flaky inside – delicious. The thick-cut chips were golden and just the right kind of soft. Plus, the service was spot-on, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. If you’re craving a taste of classic British fish n’ chips, Harry’s is the place to go!
I recently tried Harry’s Fish and Chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn’t resist trying their new all-you-can-eat option, and it did not disappoint. The fish was crispy and flaky, while the fries were just right — crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The staff were very friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. If you’re in the mood for great fish and chips, definitely check out Harry’s!
Harry’s Fish and Chips is hands down the best place to get your fish fix. The halibut is beyond amazing—perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and tender inside. The in-house tartar sauce takes everything to the next level, with a fresh and tangy flavor that complements the fish perfectly. The fries are spot on, crispy yet fluffy. If you’re looking for top-quality fish and chips, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Great lunch special, halibut and chips for 16$. The fish was very well cooked with a nice light batter The mushrooms were a little bit oily but still tasty. Nice plain simple menu with a good variety. Service was very good and a nice clean restaurant.
Unimpressive! Our first time at Harry’s Fish & Chips, sent my mister there to pickup our dinner after off the phone with a lady about substitutes 1 of the fries for yams and pay $3 different. The man took the orders for a 6 pieces Cod Family Meals, but refused to honour the substitutions and charged us a full price for a full yam order instead! The order wrapped as 3 separated of 2 pieces fish & chips orders. The L (Large) coleslaw was really tiny, like 3 tablespoons, more like a portion for 1 person. The tartar sauce is like 2 tablespoons, which barely enough for even 3 pieces of fishes. The foods were decent taste, fish on a bit small sizes, good size chips. Overall, had a much better experience at other restaurants with taste, portions, and prices!
Best fish and chips I have ever had! So fresh and amazing quality! The staff is great and the service is fantastic!
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free - extremely well done. Fish GF and fries marked GF. Never a worry. And all delicious. Recommended dishes
Fish & chips were good but took a long time in an empty restaurant. Restaurant needs a deeps clean
Best fish and chips in town
The service was bad and the food lousy, the fish was not well cooked.
Fish is decent. But the tartar sauce is terrible. Its that weird pre-made bottled super sweet stuff you get from the supermarket. Why not make some tartar sauce in house? Its like 5 ingredients and takes someone 10 mins to make 5 gallons of the stuff and tastes way better.
The best fish & chips I ve had. The Halibut was my favourite. All around excellent experience dining at Harry s Fish & Chips. The service was very good, Staff was friendly & efficient. Every time I shop at Tsawwassen Mills, I will stop into Harry s for a meal.
Best place around to dine-in! Will definitely be back for the awesome food and service!
I have had the gluten free fish and chips twice and they do not disappoint. Amazing food, and amazing service!
Good piece of halibut and tasty. Good service.
Food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Definitely going back again
The fish and chips (we ve tried them all) are so good I never get to try anything else on the menu lol. Friendly attentive service every time we have gone. The coleslaw was even better tasting on our last visit!
I ve been here multiple times and everytime they exceed my expectations , it s definitely my favourite fish and chips place in Vancouver , the food taste amazing , great quality and service , they have more than enough seating for the whole family and the parking is soo easy . Thank you for the great experience every time I highly recommend it.
Honestly Harry s has the best fish and chips in the lower mainland in my opinion. The batter is perfectly crispy and not at all greasy. The fish is fresh and heavenly. The coleslaw is fresh and delicious. Fries also delectable. Excellent portion sizes, great value for your money!! I highly recommend!!! Please continue to support this business in sunny Tsawwassen
Halibut was deliciously cooked but was not impressed with the coleslaw which seemed stale. The Yam fries were so tiny that anymore would have been considered shredded. The potatoes fries were very small as well.
Food was good but the waitress could of been a little more attentive for all the costomers
Super!
Thats how it works, but nothing more
Average. Wasnt busy the last time we were there. Staff not every attentive. Food is OK. Wish the fish pieces were a bit bigger. Fries are not good. Tartar is OK. I would come back. Just wont be part of the regular rotation.
Delicious food and great service!
Best fish and chips in the lower mainland.
I tried this place based off a friends referral, and it was AMAZING! All the staff are prompt, friendly, and attentive. The food is 10/10! Everything is full of flavour and at an amazing price point. We can t wait to come back. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
Best fish and chips in town! Service was amazing and very friendly staff. Highly recommend Harry s fish and chips
Had a craving for curry sauce and chips, and stop by here with my son. My son never had it before, and this place won him over. I loved it so much that I went again a couple of days later.
I ordered takeout a while ago from here and absolutely loved every inch of it! But we went back recently and it was a horrible experience. Everything tasted frozen, the fish was incredibly dry, and prices rose. I hope this temporary closure is a change in management or some sort of quality check.
I had the fish and chips (haddock) . Was good and the prices are reasonable.
Good fish and chips. Decent portions. Monthly specials on certain types of fish. Staff is attentive, large space, comfortable. Prices not bad.
Been going to Harry s since it opened ,was there today waited 35 mins to get my drink , the tea I ordered came already made conclusion to that was way too strong , usually get a tea bag but today no , this haddock I always get , today over cooked dry fish , batter very overdone , so left without eating cost me 16:95 for absolutely nothing . Not impressed , never offered to compensate me in any way ,
Amazing food, AND gluten free fish and chips options! Love it, were regulars. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fish and chips!! Food : 5/5 Recommended dishes
Decent fish & chips in a casual atmosphere, eaten to the likes of Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne & Justin Bieber.
Excellent food and service!
Had popcorn shrimp(yummy) mozzarella sticks(not bad) fish and chips (delicious) will be back
Great food and great prices. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fish Food : 5/5 |
Very nice fish and chips. Had take out for lunch and was not disappointed.
I ordered salad. The lettuce was old, with many brown spots on it, didn t taste good.
First time going but will be the last. Waited 40 mins for our food. People who came after us , they got their food earlier than us
Great shop , nice interior decor , foods ok Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Food : 4/5 |
We ordered 2 piece fish and chips and the fish was almost inedible, seemed dark and tough like it had freezer burn, last time eating at this establishment,
Great fish and chip lunch and a smashing cup of tea. Recommended for anyone looking for authentic Brit food
The cod and chips were very good. Not too much batter like some places. Just enough. The tartar sauce was noticeably delicious! Probably the best I have ever had! I have to say the mushy peas were not great. Coleslaw was nice. Food was hot when served. Service was very good. I would come back and recommend to others.
Food was good. However we each ordered a 16oz beer(pint) on tap and they arrived in 12oz glasses. When we told the waitress about it, she stated we had gotten what was advertised. After our meal we walked by a table of South Asian descent all drinking beer from 16oz glasses, the same beer we had ordered.
Enjoyed some gluten free fish n chips. Great service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available Food : 5/5 |
Good was overcooked and no flavor
Very fast and courteous service, delicious food.
Oishii
Yummy food! Great customer service
We received our food after others who came after we did, and there were only two of us. Cod was rubbery and fries were undercooked. Staff were nice though.
Modern antiseptic feel to the place without any character. Cod was ok portion wise. I am not a fan of the thick coating. My preference is to use a Tempura style coating. Fries were nothing special. Mine were a bit chewy, which was odd.
Best fish ive had in a while. Chips good. Oil was fresh. Slaw was ok.
Fish and chips are good
The shrimps, fried onions and chicken hamburger taste very badly.
First time visit. The staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. They had high chairs available for our infant. It is very calm, casual and just a nice atmosphere all around. We tried a variety of items: Breaded Scallops, Breaded mushrooms, Chicken strips, Cheesy jalapeño crab bites, Fried Dill pickle spears, and 1 piece halibut and chips. All of the food was well cooked, served nice and hot. Would definitely order it all again. The portion size to price is a very good value, therefore we were unable to finish all of our food. The single piece of halibut was about the same size as you get with 2 pieces at some other restaurants. Definitely recommend trying out this casual little restaurant.
Battered sausage and chips! Good beer! Say no more!
The food was quick to come out, hot and fresh. It was very good. They provide a huge bottle of tarter sauce which never happens anymore. Also they dont have music so loud that you cant have a conversation. It was a pleasant experience with great food.
Food was pretty good
Fish was watery and tasted frozen. Chips were normal French fries. The fries tasted like they were cook in the fish oil. 3 waitresses, 4 tables, never once did any server come to ask about our food. We even had to wait at the register to pay our bill.
Ordered cod and was filled with batter and very little fish and tasted dry and no taste Don t recommend u eat there
Ordered to go! Disappointed to see only one small packet of tarter sauce for a two piece halibut ! Cheap ! I would like to add the food is good! But they should give more sauce! I didn t have tarter sauce at home, so it annoyed me that it barley was enough for one piece of fish!
Fish had no taste and was super GREASY. The tarter sauce came in pre packed not freshly made. Super disappointed. My family of 4 ate 1/4 fish. It all ended up in the trash. $$
Went here for the first time with my wife. Very good food. Great service. Nice elegant decor. Surprisingly affordable, and healthy portions. Definitely recomend them. Nice experience. Mike...
Halibut and chips, and I will come back for this. Huge fan of the bottled tartar sauce. Food
The fish was amazing, the batter was perfectly executed and not oily in the slightest! The waitress was super pleasant and the chefs in the back had huge smiles! Best fish and chips I have ever had in 28 years!
Ordered take out - gluten free two piece cod meal. They have separate fryers for gluten allergies. The batter was really good and crispy! Lots of fries. The only suggestion I have for take out is having an option for homemade tarter sauce. It wasnt a big deal to have packaged tarter instead but I dont mind paying extra for homemade. I didnt know there was the option. Besides that, everything was wonderful and I will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: gluten free with separate fryers
Good food if you want to pay $30 for 2 piece of fish... 1 star due to $30 2 piece of fish...
Excellent option for fresh fish when in the area. A must stop or great sat visit.
Excellent halibut and good size portions
Had the two piece halibut and Cajun fries. The halibut was perfectly cooked and it was light batter which I prefer over the thick crust. Might be the best fish and chips Ive ever had. Would absolutely recommend this place!
Excellent
Heres my completely honest opinion after ordering halibut meals for family of three. The service was good but the quality of food compare to price was not good. Halibut was not fresh and you can tell after you try one bite, its not soft but hard. I thought the food would be good after seeing some of the good reviews but didnt feel it was worth the price I paid. Ive warned you so its your call but I would suggest another fish and chips place for now.
The best Fish and Chips in the Area. The restaurant was very clean and organized. The staff was very helpful with my 2 kids. The food speaks for its self. Will be back for more.
I think we found a place where we can dine every Sunday. The food was done perfect to our liking. Thank you.
Amazing food, it was great and very delicious. Service was also amazing, will for sure come back again!
Great fresh cod fish & chips, unlike some restaurants that use frozen.
Foods great and consistently good each time. Tartar sauce is also great. Prices reasonable especially the specials . Not the best for service. Youll be seated, someone will take your order but dont expect refills cause once you have your food no one comes back. You pay at the front but no one ever tells you this.
Im amazed this place is such a hidden gem. If you love fish and chips at an amazing price, eat here!!
I had the special 1pc cod and chips. For $11 it s ok. Thin batter wrapped in previously frozen fish. I much prefer Fish Counter in Vancouver, they use Alaskan cod( thick cut), $21 for 2pc+chips at Fish Counter vs $18.95 at Harry s.
Been a long time since Ive found a place as good as this. Great Parking: Good Kid-friendliness: Welcoming atmosphere
Excellent food, will return! And fast service kid friendly excellent portions
Delicious salmon
We went and ordered their lunch special. 1 PC haddock. Best Fish&Chips we have had in a long time! Good value for a large piece of fish. Will go back for sure. Also liked the atmosphere and friendly service! Parking: Plenty of parking and easy access. Great location if you need to do shopping or have to take the ferry
Good good great prices. Parking: Its free what can I say. Wheelchair accessibility: Only one wheelchair parking spot.
+ Decent food. Reasonable price. - Washrooms needed some attention.
Food was good very impressed. Service was good but the server just seem like she didnt like her job but you can tell she try Food
First time we went, I wasnt that impressed. So we just gave it another try and were pleasantly surprised. Things were much better. Service was very good and fish was fresh and the French fries were terrific. Coleslaw got a thumbs up from vegetarian wife. We ll be back.
Excellent fish & chips, and great beer.
amazing and authentic
Excellent halibut, chips perfect and the service is great. The staff are so sweet and friendly!!
First time here. Service was unparalleled. Food was fast, fresh and hot. Pricing was comparable to other similar restaurants. Would definitely go back if in area. Food : 4/5
Ordered a takeout by calling in. When I came in to pick up the order, I noticed they were running a special but they did not inform me about it nor did they charge me at the reduced price. I was hoping their fish to be battered lightly, like at Pajos but it was not. The halibut was a good size but the cod wasnt. The fries were just ok and if you sub for salad, it is $3 more. A little pricey in my opinion.
My sister and i had lunch at Harrys. The food for was great. The service was excellent. The establishment was clean. And the prices were lower than expected. Food
Im a huge fan of fish and chips and relatively picky to what makes a dish authentic. The food here is pretty decent, and the menu is overall fair value.
I looked forward to having Harrys come to Tsawwassen. I tried it when it first opened and was very disappointed. I tried again today and the disappointment was still justified. Soggy, greasy chips and the cod was small and rubbery. I wont be back - ever.
Harry s was a lovely place to eat and the service was excellent!! Thank You
I ordered halibut and chips, but when I started eating I realised that I was not given halibut. It was either cod or haddock (I believe it was cod). I informed the waitress that I was given the wrong type of fish and she went to speak to the cook. She returned and told me that it was halibut. It was definitely NOT halibut and she argued with me that it was halibut but was not local halibut and was therefore different. I told her that I was 100% certain that it was not halibut and she eventually relented and brought me new fish. I was not impressed with the service or the food and would not in good conscience recommend this restaurant.
Real British Fish n Chips yum
Great food, service needs to be better. Only 6 people in the restaurant and the waitress was never to be seen again. One of the cooks had to keep coming out to ask if we needed anything.
Terrible food.. bland over fried in dirty oil. Slow service. Terrible tartar sauce.. beer was decent.. Everything else is terrible Food
The fish I ate was simply amazing, I would come back here again and again and order the same thing. The food is very tasty and fresh.
Had this for lunch today. It was awful im sorry. Fries were under cooked and tasted stale like they were maybe cooked another day then recooked. The 2 pieces of cod were small and batter was heavy and tasteless. And no home made tartar sauce? The prepackaged stuff was bland. For $20 for a 2 piece and chips this should have been way better. A Fillet of Fish at McDonalds would be better.
I like fish and chips... in particular I like cod and chips and thought I would try this with my wife today. What we got doesnt really stack up to the F&C that Ive had recently. The cod was almost certainly from frozen (the batter was good, but the meat itself was mushy) and the pieces were small. The fries seemed like they were cooked in old oil because they had a smell to them. The tartar was a disappointment and the ketchup was probably not Heinz since it had a different taste (or it was off); and finally the coleslaw, while fresh had NO flavour to it. On a positive note, the beer was inexpensive, it wasnt busy, service was quick and efficient and the atmosphere was good. Looking at other reviews now, they are either good or bad. Perhaps my food experience was bad, and if I went again, would I get the other experience.... with so many options out there I cant say I will go back to find out.
Good food. Big servings, nice customer service. :)
First in last out, waiting longer than expected, two take out meals missing coleslaw
Was there last night on Sunday for dinner I never five of us my nephew and my sister-in-law were visiting from Oklahoma and we usually get fish and chips and Steveston we all had the fish special with haddock & fries, I know if you had a chicken burger that he said was really good and we also shared deep fried pickles and onion rings which Im not fond of those were the best onion rings Ive ever had I would recommend this restaurant if youre out there shopping and I would be back there again if Im up there, I do believe its safe to say its up there with some of the fish and chip restaurants in Steveston. Wheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair spot is quite roomy and right beside the sidewalk and ramp and the door into the restaurant and out is ample for larger wheelchairs as I have and the restaurant itself is very wheelchair accessible
A good place for fish and chips with quick service. Well done.
I went here for lunch before heading to Tsawassen Mills. I was always curious of this restaurant it was worth it. I chose 1 haddock with chips ($13.95) it was tasty. 1 big piece of haddock, lots of fries with coleslaw on the side. Portion was big for 1 person. I was glad not picking 2 piece meal or else I couldn t finish all. Food was pretty good. Fries and coleslaw were excellent. Service was fast.
I had a fairly decent, cod fish & chips here.... recommended.
Not bad! Delicious food and good service
Nice place. Foods ok. Staff was nice. Bit out of the way though.
Great chips and fish, the staff is friendly and attentive.
Food was great, price for food and beers were amazingly inexpensive
This is my second time coming here and both times were great! The second time I ordered 2 cod and chips with extra cod and 1 battered sausage. The fish was cooked perfectly and was quite a hefty portion! And the battered sausage was just an extra side and was worth it. I am definitely coming back!
The halibut, chips and mushy peas were excellent and for a Brit thats saying a lot! Good size, lightly battered fish, a generous portion of the best chips Ive tasted in a while and all perfectly cooked. Ill definitely be back and highly recommend!
Brit expat here, Watered down Curry sauce, battered sausage raw, oozing, had to return it. Fries ok, but nothing special. Overall very disappointing. Not the level I would expect from a British marketing point of view, staff all students, brown students in the back cooking, Caucasian girl on the front as a waitress. Asked to see the manager, no manager, didn t give a F that i complained and just shrugged their shoulders. The atmosphere was so depressed, like someone had died.
Best fish + chips in South Delta! Keto options available too (Caesar salad w/o croutons + plain sausage meal)
Emphasis on the fish and not the batter! This meal was excellent! The batter provided the perfect crunch and was not too thick. The fries were very good. It was a great place to eat before getting on the ferry at Tsawwassen. This was the special, so it was under $20 a plate.
We celebrated a birthday here and we had a great lunch. Puneet and Jaspreet were fantastic servers and made our lunch so enjoyable. Thankyou and we will be back again.
Gluten Free batter is excellent! I was so happy to find a fish and chips place with great regular battered for my hubby and also GF for me. We both had cod and enjoyed our meals. The hand cut fries (chips) are really good too. We will go back for sure!
Quick Service, Halibut was perfectly cooked, nicely breaded. Fries were delicious.
Nicely thinned battered cod special blended well with Allen vinegar ! Calamari starter well fried too
We style ourselves as English, fish and chips lovers. Harrys never disappoints. Highly recommended.
This was some of the best fish and chips we have had lightly battered not greasy big portions and good prices for the food size highly recommend my husband had 2 pc halibut and I had cod
The fish is like the old corner shop fish and chip back in uk covering all tastes even mushy peas only two items I didnt see fried spam in batter and sausage in batter otherwise full menu
The employees were nice and service was fast but the fish was dry and kind of stinky. Fries tasted like day old.
We decided to give this place a try given the 4 star review and it was a bit of a disappointment. The place was fairly empty even though we came here on a Saturday evening at 7 pm. The prices were very reasonable and especially for the kids menu. Portion sizes were good but that was the only highlight for us. Either the fish was over cooked or it was the batter but the fish came out fairly dark and quite hard and crunchy. The fish itself didn t have much of a taste to it. We probably wouldn t return even if we re in the area since I would argue even the fish and chips at Pajo at Steveston Village is better.
Great service and pricing. Very friendly staff and the food was good.
good fish and chips. we often come here now.
When it come to fish and chips dont waste your time here its pretty sad . You want good fish and chips go to C Lovers its the best I have had in BC and I have tried alot. To confirm what I have said the one in Vernon is permanently closed it was terrible.
Very good fish and chips I highly recommend, I was a bit skeptical seeing some of the negative reviews, but I was impressed, perfectly fried cod and halibut with perfect chips. I will definitely be coming back. Dine with confidence.
Decent fish and chips! Not too greasy and fair size for the price. Chips needed salt, coleslaw was a bit bland, and the unlimited tartar sauce was overly lemony or sour tasting
Thursday - Ran out of food. Closed early. Friday - Called ahead, arrive 30 min later, CLOSED, 2 hours before scheduled closing time. Extremely disorganized. No heads up when I called that they were closing early. UPDATE: Finally tried this place. Service was good and pleasant. Food was mediocre at best, nothing like a English chipper. My cod was paper thin and tiny, chips were dehydrated. Mushy peas were good. Curry sauce was good. The washrooms were disgusting and dont look like they have ever been cleaned. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Edited: We enjoyed our first visit at Harry s Fish and Chips. The food tasted great and the service was very good. We thought we would definitely come back again. We came second time and the experience wasn t the same. Our third time was yesterday and we all agreed (4 of us) this would be the last time. We don t want to come back. The quality of food went down and the prices seemed to be higher. The fish was very over cooked, dry inside. None of us finished it. Chicken wings were overdone but ok, fries was just ok. It is sad as I wanted my parents who were visiting us, to try real British fish and chips. Also, why would they have booth area with staff guarding it and not letting people to sit there. In general, we all felt we wasted $80 and missed better experience at the neighboring restaurants.
The restaurant has very nice ambiance. The hostess was very friendly. Service was amazing. The portions were very generous. The best halibut at a very reasonable price.
Second worst fish and chips ever! Us Brits are always looking for great f & c. Gave Harrys a go and it was bad. Really bad. Going back to Cockney Kings in Burnaby.
I go here on average 2-3 times per month, and either dine in or take-out. My partner is from Ireland and this is the closest he gets to the chippys back home. They have polite and quick service, and their prices are great, and in the 8 or so months weve been going there the quality has been very consistent. 10/10 would recommend.
Lots of really good food for a really great price. The staff are very nice as well. Would have given it five stars, but the bathrooms were kind of gross
Fish is fresh but fries were stale.
So, when you see it from outside it looks like you might be in for an experience of a British Chippy place, but when you go in, it s a bit of a let down. High ceilings like you find in a food court, one TV showing hockey; (was expecting several throughout showing soccer or rugby), lots of tables and a few booths at the back but section was closed off so the owner/staff can park their arses and bags their leaving only the cafeteria tables. The food was pretty good, fish portions were generous and batter was English style. Chips were a bit bland but the malt vinegar added much needed flavor. Portion sizes I give A+ . Food Quality A Atmosphere D- ( and with the kitchen open to viewing, I suggest not gathering together and socializing and get off your phones)
Not traditional. Different style batter. Not great Not terrible. Seemed a little more healthy and less greasy than fish and chips usually do
Fish was fresh and well cooked with good sauce. Check the bill item was recommended.
I had a very bad experience here yesterday. I went with my in-laws and a few other family members. The service was terrible. - they brought out the sides of gravy about 10 minutes after everyone was done eating. They also forgot to make a whole order and my mother in law was stuck waiting while everyone had their plates. - I ordered a beer and was never asked for a refill or anything else( that s there problem because I could ve drank 3 more) - I ordered halibut it was medium rare so I ate around the raw part. It was completely horribly disgusting (out of the 8 people that were there no one said anything positive about the food. It was honestly terrible. No seasoning nothing. Just batter and that s it. Even the coleslaw was bland. - servers were hiding in the back and if you wanted something they were nowhere to be found. - my girlfriend ordered coffee and it was literally water with some instant coffee in it.(unless it was old coffee which is a health hazard and totally wrong!) it tasted like water and instant coffee. I have made a review that s too long but there is other things. DO NOT GO HERE.
Super yummy cod & chips! Prices are fair, portions are generous. They definitely deserve 5 s We had a pleasant young server and waited about only 10 mins for our order in spite of it being busy in the dine in area. Both meals stayed hot and crisp until we got to our picnic spot, about 15mins away. Highly recommend this restaurant! Check it out next time youre in Tsawwassen. Or better yet, just make the trip out there. You wont be disappointed!
Got to Harrys for some fish and chips. Me and my friend ordered the 2 piece cod and shared zucchini sticks. The meal came. Expected allot better. Would not recommend. Slop bucket
We decided to splurge for our anniversary dinner and finally try out Harrys. Its a 50/50 split on my feelings for this place. I think they need to change their fryer oil because I know what overused oil looks like. It results in very dark deep fried fish. The coleslaw was extremely dry. It was more like a side salad. I like the idea of the NeverEnding tartar sauce but they could tend to cut back on the horseradish and add more dill. Probably out of their control because they have it delivered in a vat. The service was wonderful and the food came quickly. Just not sure it was worth what we paid.
The service was exceptional. The food was delicious. Not very busy. We will be back soon. The staff are exception and very friendly.
While around Vancouver and on the island we had amazing Halibut but at Harrys Fish and Chips it was terrible. The halibut was not fresh and it was not wild. It had a terrible texture and tasted fishy. It must of been farmed.
Very good. Reasonably priced. Fast service. Our first visit, but will be back.
Great food, fresh and tasty!
Best Value Large portions
Good food
crispy fish, with home made fries and sides, as well as the sauces. the place a bit messy and a very poor atmosphere.
Lovey service, modern spacious decor. My fish tasted dry and the batter had no crunch. The chips were great.
Amazing fish & chips. Batter was great and not greasy (had haddock). The prices are good and fair.
A bit hidden but a nice location with ample parking. Accessible parking and dining. Its been on our Bucket List for awhile now...but sadly, it left our fish n chip craving unsatisfied. The fish was on the dry side & not the least bit crunchy (didnt seem freshly deep-fried at all), the fries were ok, the cheeseburger was... well, I shouldve known better than to order a burger at a fish place, huh? It seemed ¾ cooked, would Not order again. The best item by far were the onion rings; I couldve just eaten a plateful of them alone! Were hoping we just came on an off day. Will try again...one day. Others in the restaurant seemed to really enjoy their food.... again, we hope our experience was the exception.
Best Haddock and chips we have found in BC
Love their haddock and chips, with mushy peas. We go quite often and find the quality consistent. Seems to be a big turnover of staff, as almost every time we go, it is new wait staff. I do find their staff very polite and helpful though Definitelywould recommend if you want fish and chips . Yum! Food : 4/5
Surprisingly good. Weird vibe. Good food. Beautiful spot.
Very disappointing. Fish was extremely greezy and chips were old. No more visits to Harrys.
Great customer service and great food
Great food, slow service
Good service, nice restaurant and tasty gluten free fish and chips!!! I will be back for sure. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
I still miss Uncle Herbert s in Ladner, so when I spotted Harry s with the British flag on the sign I was keen to go. It s hard to find authentic British-style fish and chips here anymore. The service was really good and the prices were decent. Had I ordered just the fish and chips, I probably would have given a better review, however, the cod was very watery even though I liked the batter. The chips were also decent, cut smaller than British chips but normal for Canada. I loved that they kept malt vinegar right at the table. Unfortunately, the mushy peas were blah, as was the coleslaw. We also ordered a chicken pie and a steak pie, and were very disappointed in them. The chicken pie had a hint of curry flavour but was otherwise very boring and not what I expected. The steak pie was full of organ meats, which I would have completely avoided had I thought to ask (most places here would adequately label the item with that information). The pies were not made in-house - the server actually referenced that they came from a box. It seemed like everything was pre-packaged, processed food. Most disappointing was the tartar sauce, which had been made from salad cream - it tasted like Miracle Whip, basically. I know British food gets a bad rap for being bland and unhealthy. No one is going to a place like this for a healthy meal. But done the right way, all these foods can be delicious. Harry s won t be seeing me again. What was good wasn t good enough to warrant another visit.
