Ontario Craft Cider located in Uxbridge, Ontario. Founded in 2017, Slabtown is a family-owned and operated cidery and orchard. Located on the Oak Ridges Moraine just south of Uxbridge and surrounded by forest, trails and rolling fields. We have been working very hard to revitalize over 90 acres of historic fields into one of Canada’s largest collections of unique heritage heirloom apple cider varieties.
Very beautiful place. Good for dating. Food is excellent. Autumn is good timing, scenery is very very beautiful. Also good for family with kid, very big outdoor place for kids to run. Steak and lamb is so so great! Must try apple cider drink. Price is reasonable. If you booking outdoor check the forecast before booking. Check the temperature and raining before booking. If you choose indoor, there is no problem.
Slabtown Cider is a hidden gem where the beer and cider are brewed in-house, offering a unique, large field for children to play and refreshing experience. I tried the pineapple mimosa cider, which was a delightful balance of tangy and sweet. The pizzas were thin with a generous amount of toppings, cooked to perfection. The pasta was creamy, rich in flavor, and left a lasting impression. To top it off, the cheesecake was just the right level of sweetness, making it the perfect end to an incredible meal. If you're a fan of cider, good food, and desserts, Slabtown Cider is a must-visit!
We had heard good things about this place and we were not disappointed. Tucked away off Main Street, it had beautiful eating areas some with fire pits, friendly staff, and a menu of delicious options. The best burger and lobster dip! We ate at the bar because they were busy but it only added to our experience. Cider sampler was a great way to taste some of the different flavours. We will definitely be back.
Took a long trip to the Slabtown cider to really just relax and enjoy the Friday evening. The parking lot was busy and but had plenty of parking. The place looked serene and so well organized. There was a wait time for us to be seated but it did not take long. The wait, allowed us to walk through the field and the orchard. It was fun. The ambience and the people working here were very nice. The food was terrible. So badly let down by taste and quality of the food. First, the napkins in which the cutlery were wrapped had a distinct smell of fatty grease. Couldn’t bring myself to use this. Crab cakes did not taste or feel fresh. In one bite, I could tell it was taken out of the fridge and made. The veggies in it tasted dry and old. The French fries that come with the dish, were so soggy. It felt like it was Cooked and left out for hours. Not once had any crisp to it at all. How can you mess up fries so bad. The grilled chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. How do you cook something with no salt to it. The blandest, dry chicken I’ve ever had. The prime rib steak wasn’t too good either. Overall, the food was unimpressive . Such a let down for such a wonderful place that claims to use good ingredients.
Another fantastic stop on my quest to visit all breweries, cider houses, wineries, and distilleries in Ontario. Yes, my partner humors me in this, but I'm sure she feels the quest is quixotic.... Slabtown is a must visit for fans of Ontario craft cider. Lots of regular choices plus small batch creations. Beer is on the menu as well and an excellent restaurant. The indoor space is quite large and has a small stage for live music. Many outdoor spaces - open air, covered and enclosed. Cider was my reason for this visit - the Legendary Cherry was an obvious choice, of course. It was deliciously refreshing. One of my companions felt peckish and had the Chicken BLT. The tiny bite they deigned to share was delightful. And the fries! So crispy and delicious! The staff at Slabtown are tremendous. Our host, Adriana, was friendly, helpful, and attentive. They are not only cognizant of the dietary restrictions of patrons but are very active to meet them. After my companion requested no cheese on the Chicken BLT, Adriana was back to ask on behalf of the kitchen staff whether the dairy in the burger bun was problematic. Well done all! Clearly a local favourite - packed on a Friday afternoon with a small wait - consider making a reservation. All in all, another excellent example of a local business to support! Ciders, Food and Atmosphere were amazing!! Butter tarts are so good, if you can add them to the dessert menu. My only complaint is that the service was very very slow. My friend and I went for lunch and it took 3 hours. Our beverages arrived and we waited a long time before our server returned. We decided to order an appetizer and meals at once as we weren’t sure when we’d see someone again. Not a big deal but our charcuterie board and meal came at the same time. We thought about dessert, eventually got the menu and let’s just say after another long wait, we ended up just going inside and got the bill. We went to the store, and the staff were friendly at check out. The girls working should really try standing when someone enters and provide a greeting. I know it’s not a big store, but working in customer service myself those little touches make for a more memorable experience.
Delicious restaurant in Uxbridge; truly a gem and worth visiting if you so happen to pass by or visit anyone in the area. The space was beautiful; beautiful patio area with plenty of seating, a little shop in the back for the ciders, wheelchair and pet friendly, and a huge open space where kids (and dogs!) can play. Tried a handful of dishes and they were so, so good! Not a cider person myself, but my partner liked his watermelon cider! He also suggested that they have more selection in terms of their beers, perhaps a little sports bar area in the near-future (?), and that they could have toasted the bun for his sandwich but otherwise, everything else was great. Can’t wait to go back and eat here again. It’s the perfect summer spot!
We have been here multiple times and love it here! This was our first time visiting during the summer and the patio is very big with lots of tables available. They even have picnic tables and a large field for kids to run around and play in. The service, drinks, and food are always good here. Highly recommend their pizzas, especially the fungi and margherita. I would definitely be coming back more during the summer months. Make sure you make a reservation as it gets quite busy here on weekends.
The food was great and not too loud to catch up with friends
The live music was good, but out table was next to the stage making it difficult to enjoy conversation.
Nice
Love the Ambience! Food is Fresh! Definitely Coming Back All Summer Long!
Such a great place in the country to spend time with your family and friends. The service, bevies, and food are fantastic. The team is very welcoming and the wait staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile and a brief conversation. Kid and pet friendly. What sets them apart is the abundance of space for your active little ones and furry family members to run and frolic in, while you wait for your inside or outside patio seating.
Dining a Slabtown is wonderful. Making reservations is a PITA. The online tool doesnt always show all available reservations and it requires patrons to register with another service just to be able to book a table. Dont offer online booking if isnt accurate or requires patrons to create an account with a reservation system just to get a table.
First time at this place and it s busy for a reason. Walking in, the setting is beautiful. We sat at both the bar, enjoyed cider flights and then on the patio for dinner and more drinks - My fav was the Raspberry Tea Cider! The menu overall has great options and we enjoyed our delicious dinner. Special shoutout to our server TAYLOR! She mentioned it was her first day and I was so surprised because she handled everything beautifully! She was attentive, friendly and helpful at answering our questions. Thank you Taylor for making our first experience a great one :). Will definitely be back again!!
Got engaged here, on the property, servers knew and congratulated us. Expected nothing and got nothing. No free drink, dessert, appetizer. 10/10 always tho. I go here a lot. Maybe next time acknowledge what s going on, always dropping $150+ each visit.
A great place to bring a bus full of cider lovers! Two blokes always gives us great service and the ciders are amazing! food is great too!
Great food and atmosphere, drinks were really good. Server Carly very knowledgeable! Definitely will be back
We went to Slabtown for dinner last night and were initially told there would be an approximate 45 minute wait. So we purchased drinks and waited out in the field. After about an hour elapsed we checked in to see whether they had a table for us and were told that two tables were almost ready. We then sat in the waiting area of the restaurant for an additional 20 minutes and watched as a couple who appeared to be known to one of the servers or managers (not sure) walked in ahead of us without a reservation and were seated instantly. Finally at about 7 p.m. we were forced to abandon the wait as our 2-year-old had to eat and go to bed. There were no apologies or attempts to expedite our wait time at all. The only positive aspect of our experience last night was the very thoughtful and considerate staff member who was working the food truck. She was a pleasure to deal with and was very careful when dealing with our sons allergies. She had our food out right away which, unfortunately, we had to eat in the car on our way home.
Great for cider tasting and atmosphere.
I have been a regular customer for years and Slabtown has hands down been the best cider consistently, and their seasonal ciders usually hit the mark. However as they have gotten busier service has started to suffer quite a bit(presumably due to not enough staff). Lastly their menu has been in a steady decline, and the most recent menu changes are a travesty. It s hard to go for anything more than a quick flight these days.
I finally made it to Slabtown Cider in Uxbridge! Its a local brewery located on over 90 acres of forest, trails, fields, and orchards. They craft their own ciders and beer onsite, and offer some fantastic food in their restaurant with a huge patio! My friend and I had their Crab Cakes, Miami Ribs, and Caesar Salad to start. I know, its a lot to start and it was all delicious! For our mains, we had their Pickle & Bacon Pizza, and Jerk Chicken Linguini. Both were really good, with a great crust on the pizza. The jerk chicken was very tasty but may be spicy for some diners. Delicious, nonetheless! I actually worked with some of the chefs at one of Markhams top golf/event/banquet facilities. They know how to cook good food! Besides the great tasting food, Slabtown hosts festivals and concerts, making this a great venue for food and music. Check out this place!
Great atmosphere for friends, families, and dogs. Delicious cider and great tasting pizza.
I live in Niagara Falls, but recently discovered this gem when visiting family in Uxbridge. Came twice in one week, and brought my brother for his birthday because I knew he would love it too! My parents also really enjoyed the cider we brought home for them to try, and they can be picky, so that says a lot! Loved that we got to try all their cider flavours by sharing a few tasting flights. Im normally more a red wine and not a sweet drink person, but their ciders are very very pleasant (favourites were Black currant, pineapple Mimosa and honey habanero). Their stout is also great. Their food is great! Awesome portions, hubby had to help me finish lol My brother and I loved our steak. My husband had the pappardelle. We shared the mushroom pizza as appetizer. I have also tried their Classic Caesar salad with grilled chicken. And their service is very welcoming, super accommodating when we arrived a little early for our reservation and very friendly. I did notice that ist place gets VERY busy on a weekend so definitely recommend making a reservation.
Everything we ordered were great. I would recommend to friends.
Amazing entertainment and food. Atmosphere and food was great! Server was excellent
Amazing vibes
So disappointed with our trip here today. Told it would be an hour to wait I asked why as there was alot of empty seating. Short staffed is what I got. Beautiful day as it was they should have been more prepared. They suggested we go to the drink/ food trailer, was at least a 20 minute wait in the line. Very limited drinks to choose from no flights. Found food pricy so we just got one drink so we didnt have to wait in the long line again. The girl working the trailer did her best though, Just so disappointed cant say we will rush back but happy to see some were able to enjoy the restaurant and patio.
Love love love Slabtown! So glad we discovered this place since we moved close by. Usually breweries dont care as much about food but not here! The food is outstanding, just as great as the drinks. They always have fun specials, seasonal ciders and a lot of choice. Dont forget to pick up some Anninas butter tarts in the shop. The service is always top notch, all the servers are very friendly and cant do enough to help even when its busy. The field is great for meeting friends with kids and dogs, they can run around while adults actually have a chance to sit and chat. 10/10, we are so lucky to have Slabtown as our local!
Nice food and good service/price . Both patio and inside have spacious. Service was quick, although it was busy. Cold Sweet Cider was great and the salad was loaded. It s a gem in the town.
I love the atmosphere at Slabtown. Loved the Mohito and the Mimosa ciders. Every dish we have had there is delicious.
Cool at night . Chilly chilly. Always carry jacket or sweater. Less food store options on the way.
Food dishes are generally $4 over priced. A table of 4 couples out celebrating a birthday. We brought our own cake which we then brought out to our table with candles lit. Slab Town added a $4 per couple ($16) cake cutting charge to each of our bills! No mention of this charge to any of us before! Manager came to our table and tried to explain the reasoning behind the cake cutting charge that staff didnt have any part in any cake cutting.
Slabtown has a fantastic property with spacious orchards and plenty of green space, perfect for a picnic or bringing along your own games. The menu offers a great selection of food, and the big patio is ideal for soaking up the surroundings while enjoying a meal.
Very rude wait staff. Was told we could not eat on the patio and were given no other options.
Had a great time. Food was great but i asked the waitress if the caesar salads were any good she said yes. It was pitiful. Other than that, worth the drive.
Really cool place, came here for drinks with the family and friends, but the staff here are rude. Wont come back.
Always a good time at Slabtown! I just wished they had wings on their menu...seems like it just should.
I took my friend from out of town for lunch today on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. I made reservations a week ago to ensure an open area because we both love the sun, so we sat at the patio table. When we arrived, were seated under the tent, and it was explained that because of the threat of rain, they decided not to open their open area patio. Which we understood, and we sat there, although disappointed. Then, throughout our lunch, we noticed people seated in an open area, not much sun, but at least more sun than we had. I approached our server and asked her if we could move into the sunny area, as that s what I had requested in the first place, so she sat us out there. She seemed visibly annoyed by my request. Then another server then approached us and asked why we were seated there and that she needed the table, so we wondered if we could move. I then just stated that we would take her ciders and plastic cups and move out to the sunny area at the picnic tables. I was very disappointed in the service, although very pleased with all of the food and ciders,, of course. Also they put the live music inside on a beautiful clear sky day. I am sure I am not alone in going to Slabtown to appreciate the outside sun and beautiful scenery.
Great food, great cider, great service!
Fantastic food! Fantastic service!
I highly recommend this place...the food, atmosphere, price, etc. are the best...
Visited on a Sunday afternoon with friends, and both the patio and indoor seating were packed. We were added to the waitlist and received a buzzer to let us know when our table was ready. We waited about half an hour to be seated inside, which went by quickly as we browsed the selection of ciders, beers, and pastries in their store next door. The Miami Ribs came out first. We were shocked to see only three pieces for $24. The flavour was good, but this appetizer is overpriced for what we got. For the same price, we could have gotten any other handheld or pizza, which would have been more filling and also sharable. The Double Smashed Burger ($22) was delicious - thick and juicy, with crispy bacon, and a side of their fries. Highly recommend. We also got the cider cocktail, which tasted like cream soda. Overall, the food and service was good, so we would come back, but would not order the Miami Ribs again.
Great spot way way out in the country, surrounded by cornfields which sadly appear doomed to be replaced by huge housing projects. Has several outdoor eating areas scattered around a large field. Also has an adjunct building for sale of their beers and ciders. Excellent meal with friends celebrating the wifes bday the hazy IPA was very good, both beers and ciders available in flights of 4 small glasses or by pints. Variety of meat, pasta or pizza choices with salads and fries. Reasonable prices, great surroundings very nice choice, apart from the traffic to deal with coming from Bathurst/Lawrence area. Vegetarian options: They exist. Kid-friendliness: Great for kiddies of all ages. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to reach
It was our first time here, and our feelings are mixed. The location is beautiful, the food is tasty, and our waitress Erin saved the day - thank you! I believe we re not the first to experience a situation like this, but you need to address the service issues. When we arrived, we first went to the outdoor patio area because we had a double stroller, and it was the only way to get inside. Many staff members walked past us without saying a word, no asking why we were there, or suggesting where to sit or offering cold water. After a few minutes of standing outside near the table that as a result was ours table with my wife, two babies and our friend an old gentelman, the same lack of attention continued when I went to the reception area; the staff gone with other clients without any attention to my person - simple hello, we will serve you in a few minutes will be enough. It was almost funny, as I momentarily felt like an invisible man. Overall, the first experience wasn t good. Thanks once again to Erin for her kindness and hard work on that hot day with us.
Been a long time patron of slabtown. Recently visited and ordered ribs, crab cakes. We got 2 cakes and 3 rib. The price was $22 and $24 respectively. These prices are too high for such small portions. Food
Its all about the excellent Cider craft and the Valley like location of this establishment. COME WITH FAMILY. The place is nestled inside the forest of Goodwood and boy does it make an excellent impression on you when you enter through the gates. Loved it ! Will come again.
This place is amazing. Ciders were all great and the Cubano Sandwich was still delicious! Think its becoming a birthday tradition.
Lovely place. Great tasting food. The kitchen closes too early..(8pm), thus theres a rush to order. Our reservation was at 730. But we will continue to patronize. Prepare for the mosquitoes!!! They are savage.
Nice cidery that you can bring your dogs. Improvements -> Please stop using plastic cups in 2024. People are capable of bringing their glass cups back to the bar. Also it would be nice if you can also get a hot cider for the grass area and not a limited menu.
5 star
Absolutely amazing food. And the high-5 chocolate cake ... Chefs kiss.
Great setting. Service was great, and we all loved our food (I had the Cubano sandwich - very tasty). Their stout and Mexican Lager were top-notch, too.
Will definitely be back! Loved everything about it - food, cider flights, beer, atmosphere, service and you can bring ur dog/s!
Exceptional and consistent experience with every visit! Love the vistas and the vibe. Highly recommend the cider slushies. Our server was amazing, food was delicious - a great night out.
What a great day to spend with friends at Slabtown in Uxbridge!!! I swear we had the best server anywhere hands down, Stephie!!! Absolutely amazing, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly and knew her stuff!! We threw a lot of questions her way.. he suggestions were spot on!! From the beer.. to the ciders to our food selection, she was on fire!!! Our meals were absolutely delicious and they were massive portions. We were outside enjoying the weather our meals and the experience. It was our second time there and let me say it won t be our last!! Thanks Stephie for a great outing for us!!!
One of our favourite places but if youre vegetarian pickings are slim. They used to have a veggie burger that was very good but for some reason theyve stopped serving it. 5 stars if they bring it back. Vegetarian options: Limited options.
Amazing place, tasty food
Came here during lunch and our lovely server was Ryan. She was so great at giving us enough time to peer into the menu and had great knowledge of the ciders/drinks. The food was delicious and we very much enjoyed the ciders of choice, with ginger and mango pineapple being our top 2. It gets pretty busy, so come early or make reservations. Such a great place nestled in Uxbridge where you dont have to travel to Niagara to receive something similar. Just a little tip, I know that someone there has their own hot sauces, my only opinion is that they need to be hotter! Other than that, great with the food.
This place is a hidden gem!! Incredible food, the fungi pizza is a must try and great variety of ciders. To top it all off, you can enjoy the views or sit back and enjoy live music on the weekends. Be sure to stop in at the store, we always walk away with a few bottles of cider.
Atmosphere is great but with its expansion, the service is extremely slow and food isn t as good as it used to be. They forgot our drinks and orders so everyone got their drinks and food at different times. The flank steak, pizzas, and drinks were good but the jerk chicken linguini was overcooked, and the sweet cider was watered down.
Beautiful outdoor patio, quality of the food was very good, it had good flavours. Ciders were great. Recommended it to a friend!
Waited 1 hour for the order. The food was horrible (Miami ribs). Will not see me ever again. Food
Our server was lovely but the manager was awful. I was just there to celebrate an important event and I ordered the BLT sandwich, the chicken was not cooked and all fatty. Not once did a manager come over to talk to me and I ordered a bison burger to make up for it but yet again it came out dry. Waitress had informed the manager didn t even want to take off the BLT sandwich even though it s been sent back by many guests before. Manager charged me for the sauces on the awful sandwich I didn t eat and charged me for the remake of a burger after all my guest ate 30 minutes ago and I had to eat alone. Awful service from the manager to not even show their face and to make sure the guest needs are met,
Such a beautiful environment for lunch. Large outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. Huge field with picnic tables and a stage for live entertainment. The flatbread was delicious as was my friends quinoa salad. Beautiful presentation. Very friendly service. Will be back.
Normally a great place but last visit they had a new manager, red hair, introducing herself as Kathleen. The manager was very rude to the females at the table making them feel very uncomfortable. Not the vibe we were all looking to get.. very disappointing
Weve been going go slabtown forever since they opened. The venue is amazing! Super open and tons of seating. We even love all the grass space (there are always kids playing and dogs sitting on the grass) Food - is great the menu has something for everyone on it. We love the idea of flights to try a few of the ciders since they have so many flavours. My only comment on food is the bison burger was better last summer but it is still really good! Just more dry this season. The farm shop is amazing make sure you stop in on your way home Service - this is where the sour note is left after this most recent visit. After ordering, two of us did not like the taste of one of our ciders ( we both felt as though it was flat or off kinda like when a beer keg is near the end). We asked our waitress if we could get a replacement flavour and since she was new she said she would speak with her manager. She brought back someone who introduced herself as Kathleen. She rudely asked what was wrong with our drinks and didn t seem to want to listen to our explanation. She appeared to not care or not have the time as she wasn t even engaged in the conversation, she was looking around and kept her responses short. In the end we were given a new glass however felt the rude encounter left the sour note to our visit.
Food was great, loved the blonde lager, atmosphere is peaceful however, server was very slow and dirty dishes and glasses stayed on the table longer than they should. Thank you to Ash for doing what he could to turn our experience into a more positive one, it s appreciated. We will visit again!
I went for the first time as I have heard such good things. The food and drinks were good but the service was appalling!! Had a horrible experience with the manager (red hair). Completely unacceptable. Her attitude and demeanour for the customers needs to be addressed!! You re only as good as your staff.
This place is huge, amazing and the menu has a bit of everything. The flight was amazing.
My poor experience was with the management. (Beera?) She was rude right from the beginning. She came to the table and said whats the problem here. When I asked our pleasent waitress to speak to the manager. Not a friendly bone in her body. She didnt seem to want to fix the problem but more challange an argument. Eventually the problem was sorted out but the group I was with and myself were left with a bad taste.
I had an amazing dining experience at Slabtown Ciderhouse today. Got the margherita pizza and the YUMMY aioli dip (definitely recommend). Our waitress, Shanalyn, was a star. I would definitely come back again!
Great afternoon atmosphere. Fantastic live music. The food and drink was great. Will definitely be back.
Mmmmmmmmmm. The food is always amazing here.
Excellent, nature surrounded space. Beautiful patio spaces. Clean and friendly environment. Food is perfectly portioned, delicious and fresh Ciders and beers are refreshing, unique and tasty.
Stopped by for a lunch with family. Wow, what an amazing place! Some of the food looked really amazing, too. Unfortunately, mine was not. We started with the Calamari, which was lukewarm and VERY chewy - the sauce was awesome. Then I had the pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms for 2 additional bucks. There was 9 pieces of pepperoni and a small handfull of cooked mushrooms on one side of the pie - like it was dressed with a slingshot. Hardy and cheese andi it was cold and chewy lacking any real flavour. She had the smashburger and I was jealous as she LOVED it! Lunch was a buck fifty with tip (I had a coule beers and she had a flight of ciders). We shared the table with dirty dishes and cutlery for most of our stay and stuff was removed only when we could flag someone down and ask. To their credit the place was jammed. but the half chewed baby squids were getting hard to look at...lol. Oddly enough, I would go back simply for the atmosphere and the smiling staff...not to mention the live music! All the best!
Feels like a chain restaurant sans the charm. No signage telling new guests to wait to be seated. Passive aggressive waitress made sure we knew we broke the rules by asking us if the hostess had not cleaned our table and then ever so sweetly told us there s an hour wait for a patio table. Will never go back and advise management to invest in a $20 chalkboard sign for their patio entrance so they don t make guests feel like line jumpers because they don t know the rules.
great place, great cider
Great atmosphere. Great food and service to back it up. The Cider and beer selection is plentiful as well. The Founders Dry Cider is a must try!
Atmosphere was great and food was pretty good. However, the service is always so horrible. This is the last time Ill be going. The waitress didnt even come back after first giving us our drinks. She didnt drop the food off. Didnt ask how our food was- so she wouldnt have even known if there was problem. She only came back once she saw we were standing up at the table ready to go but then she said oh are you still good here? I couldnt even believe it. I responded by saying no we are ready to go.
10, 10, 10..10s across the board! This beautiful property is home to a Cidery, Brewery and Eatery. Its ever-changing menu means something new all the time. The staff are hardworking, knowledgeable and friendly. They have indoor seating outside covered and uncovered. Child and dog friendly, but myst be leashed. (Just the dogs nit the children. Musical entertainment sets just the right tone for happy hour.
All the food didnt come at the same time.
Such a gem!! I wish we lived closer because this would be our regular spot. A spacious (dog friendly) venue, equipped with an optional covered patio, live music, open field, and DELICIOUS food! Perfect venue for celebrating, special event, date night or with the family. I had their veggie wrap, which might not look like much but truly a 10/10! Jam packed with roasted veggies, crispy chickpeas & hummus. Walking past their kitchen every thing looked delicious, can t wait to try more next time. Ciders were good too! I surprised myself with which were my favourites (opted for the tasting flights.) Honey Habanero & Cherry were my favs.
Awesome place, food was great l, our server was the best I have had ever, and the vibe was great too. Happy to have a place like this so close to home.
Best smash burger in a
Our sever Ceaser was goated. Give that man a raise.
Amazing place to eat, high quality drinks, the staff are really fun and friendly. I have brought my son here and he really enjoys his time and so does my fiance. I will definitely be coming back!
The pistachio crusted salmon was the best thing Ive eaten in a long time! Seriously delicious!
This was my 3rd visit to Slabtown Cider Co. and heres why Ill be a returning customer: - The cider flights are the perfect sampler of their very delicious cider offerings. I am an especially big fan of the new varieties that you can sample in different seasons. This time (April 2024) the lemon & thyme one was my overall favourite - The food is delicious. The flatbread was a huge hit with the group (5 of us) and was the favourite, although the crab cakes were a strong second. - Although not for me, the pickle & bacon pizza was a hit with the rest of my party so it gets an honourable mention The setting is beautiful and the service was an improvement from a previous visit. We felt very looked after and cared for and really appreciated that they took the extra effort to make us feel welcome. We are already planning a picnic day with our other halves and children for the summer - looking forward to coming back again.
Incredible atmosphere, food, and beverages make Slabtown one of the premier locations Uxbridge has to offer.
This was my first time here. The singer was fantastic, but the volume was too loud. The staff tried to give us food for other tables 3 times. Meanwhile, we were otherwise ignored for order taking until I asked. After that we still waited, but our food did come out quickly and it was delicious and we were no longer ignored. We picked up butter tarts at their shop. These were fantastic.
Loved the music tonight, the service was great also! Thank you Food : 5/5
Great first time experience on the patio of this hidden gem. Loved the beer sampler choices. Menu offered lots of choices. We had the calamari (tender) served with giardiniera plus two pizzas(fungi and calabrese) that were full of toppings. Service was attentive and food arrived quickly even though it was quite busy inside and out. Looking forward to returning again, and again.
Slabtown is hands down the best place in Uxbridge and the surrounding areas. It is always an excellent time. The food, service and cider is constantly great. Stefanie is our go-to whenever we go. She has the BEST personality and service levels. Cant wait to continue visiting all summer. Thanks Stef for the best time!
Great outdoor space to bring your pet along to enjoy good food and drinks. Good list of alcoholic beverages to choose from. Had the Honey Habanero Cider, Scottish Ale and Kölsch-Style Stout; all were very good. Their Double Smashed Burger and Cubano were just as good. Definitely recommend
Would rate it 4.5. Woold have given 5 but the food service was super slow. Fantastic place to hang out with family and friends. The setting is perfect for summer. The place is BUSY so book in advance. We have been turned away couple.of times before we booked and went this time. Our server was very friendly and made sure every table she served is served fast and with a smile. but the service was VERY SLOW from the kitchen. I understand the restaurant is super busy on weekends but they should know this by now and manage accordingly. Would go back again for sure but expect 45 minutes wait fir the food to come.
A great eating establishment with a wide variety of craft cider and beer. Located on a beautiful rural vista in Uxbridge with very friendly and helpful staff. It is a little on the pricy side, but the entrees and appetizers are very good.
Great tasting food and beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts
Cute restaurant. Rachel offered great service. Thanks
We have been here a few times in the past and we were quite satisfied. But the most recent visit was a huge disappointment I ordered the crab and shrimp linguine, which was the special for that day. When the food arrived, I was shocked to find one single lonely shrimp on the plate. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said he would check with the chef. He came back with no reply, or response. I guess there was no oversight when making the dish. After careful inspection, I was not able to see or taste and crab meat at all. I don t think I will bring my family back again.
At Slabtown Cider Co., our culinary journey included the delightful addition of baked brie to our meal. This appetizer was a decadent delight, with creamy brie encased in a flaky pastry and topped with a savory-sweet glaze. The combination of gooey cheese and buttery pastry was simply irresistible. Paired with their amazing ciders, it elevated our dining experience to new heights. With great ambiance, friendly staff, and an impressive menu, including the baked brie, Slabtown Cider Co. is a must-visit destination for those seeking culinary excellence and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
My darling and I had been sitting on a gift certificate for Slab Town for too long, and we decided to make the trip out from Whitby earlier this year (January). We had a such a lovely visit, were certain to be back. Starting out with the charming host Jessica, who kindly greeted us. As we had arrived just as they opened and the place was empty, Jessica promptly guided us to what she felt was the best booth in the place. It was a great little spot. Our server Matthew was lovely, and gave us just the right amount of attention. We enjoyed the sweet potatoe fries before going on to sharing a pizza. I wish I could remember the exact ingredients, but I think it was a special that day. Anyway, it was delicious and we left thoroughly satisified. The atmosphere was nice, and were looking forward to hanging out in the lawn/patio area when the good weather arrives. Thanks Jessica and Matthew for a great visit. Hope to see you there on our next one!
A real gem of Uxbridge. So gald we found this pace. Its small and cozy, smells amazing, the day we visited they had live band. The food was great, will definitely come again for their pizza marghareta with garlic mayo.
Love this spot for a casual summer lunch on the patio with a few delicious beverages! They have live music events which add to the experience, and great values flights and pints of cider. The site also has a retail component to purchase bottles of cider for home.
We love Slabtown!! The cider is great (Founders Dry and Honey Habenero are the favs), pizza and crust is amazing and outside seating allows for the family dog to join in on the fun. It is in our top 3 restaurants for Uxbridge. I would love for them to add more fun mocktails (preferably low sugar) for the non drinkers in the house. (eg. lime, cucumber, mint and simple syrup with soda water to be specific) They get pretty jammed during the good weather season, but will set aside seats for walk in. When we have gone and it is a long wait in the summer, we will order pizza and sit outside on the picnic tables in the field. The grounds and surrounding area are lovely.
Such a great experience! Enjoyed a great Black Current Cider and was just perfect. Followed with a baked brie and I do recommend it! Also tried their fungi pizza and was to die for! If your ever near Uxbridge or have heard of this place, this is your chance it check it out!
The food was amazing. However, Ive never seen a restaurant charge a mandatory fee for a table of 8...a bit ridiculous. Waitress seemed to use this as an excuse not to check on the table. Drinks were often empty and had to flag her down. Certainly not deserving of 18% gratuity for the service recieved.
The service is objectively great. The atmosphere is probably fine for most people, but I found the ambient noise level to be very high. The food was tasty, but the portions quite small for the prices. Food
We LOVE Slabtown. We brought a group of 8 people and we loved the food and beverages however we were charged an 18% gratuity for a party of 8 even though the website says parties of 10 will have a gratuity added. Service was not as great as in previous visits and guests we invited were surprised by the gradutity for a party of 8. Not sure if we will be back with friends.
Great food, great atmosphere. Love that it is kid and dog friendly.
You gotta eat here! Big thank you to Clair at the bar for making our day! Her suggestions were spot on. From the pizza, to the cider, even to the garlic aioli dip which made the pizza even better (which I didn t think was possible). She is our Clair- bear and even though it s far from Toronto we will be going there to see her again soon. Atmosphere can t be beat. You are basically surrounded by nature and hills and you have this amazing restaurant to eat in. Service is top notch. Everyone there treats you like a special guest from the moment you enter. Food is incredible! The chefs there really mean business! I cannot explain with words, you just have to go eat there! Highly HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Great products! Love their interesting and unique ciders. Great food for the most part. Though Im not a fan of their pizza. Ive been a few times and will be adding it to my travels often.
I ve been to so many destinations for dinner & drinks & this is my #1 choice every time! If you are lucky enough to have Stefanie as your server then I can say your experience will be unmatched! She has perfected the art of waitressing/bartending. She will take such good care of you & your party - whether it be date night or a special occasion with a large group. She anticipates your needs & her personality is 10/10! She will make you feel special! (Request her if you can! You won t regret it!)
Food is tasty, ambience was chic and had some really nice people/staff. This time we did takeout and were a little disappointed that the quantity was much less compared to our last visit when we dined. Taste and quality was still good.
First time here. Huge patio which was open even tho it s February! Very busy. Had a reservation and were seated quickly. They need some type of foyer because every time the door opened it was freezing!!!!! And opened it opened a lot! Food was amazing. Butter chicken, pizza, eggplant, and chicken Caesar wrap. All delicious. Waitress was ok but once we ordered she never came back to see if we wanted another drink. Overall good experience. Looking forward to the nice weather to return recommend.
Had the butter chicken on valentines day with my wife. Found some cartilage and bone in it, and it wasnt that good . Dont order it . However the manager did cover the cost for the mistake .
My recent visit to Slabtown Cider Co. was a mixed experience, with notable positives and one significant drawback. The restaurants unique charm lies in its no-reservation policy, making it an accessible choice for spontaneous dining, whether for an intimate dinner for two or a gathering of a larger group. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the food. The menu offered a delightful array of options, and the portion sizes were satisfying. The culinary experience, coupled with the welcoming ambiance, made it an enjoyable setting for both small and large groups. Service at Slabtown Cider Co. also contributed positively to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and efficient, ensuring that our dining needs were met promptly. Their friendly and accommodating approach added to the pleasant atmosphere, creating a comfortable environment for patrons. However, the one significant downside of the visit was the condition of the mens washroom. While the facilities were visibly clean, there was an overwhelming smell of urine that permeated the space. The strong odor, suggestive of toilets or urinals not being adequately flushed or cleaned, was off-putting and had a notable impact on my overall impression of the establishment. The intensity of the smell was such that it prompted consideration of not ordering food, detracting from what could have been an otherwise positive dining experience. In conclusion, Slabtown Cider Co. offers a welcoming and unpretentious environment, ideal for spontaneous dining with various group sizes. The food and service were commendable, creating a positive atmosphere for patrons. However, the issue with the mens washroom, specifically the persistent smell of urine, is an aspect that the establishment should urgently address to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and enhance the overall customer experience.
All pasta dishes were undercooked, chicken fingers were like Costco, customer service was poor waiter was not able to check on us the entire time after our food order, my husband was not able to order a drink. The flies and mosquitoes were pretty bad and we sat inside. It s unfortunate as we had heard great things about this place but we were VERY disappointed.
Such a wonderful experience here. Great environment, food, entertainment (there was a band playing) and staff. Will definitely be going back to enjoy a patio dinner before summer is over. Dont forget to visit their shop to buy any of their ciders that you enjoy!
Honestly, I ve been here several times and want to love it, however the service is so poor. Last visit were basically abandoned on the front porch at a table for 20 minutes before a waiter came. He took our order then one minute later another waiter came. Food deliver was slow, my entree was dry and cool, and we had to beg the other waiter to get the first one to return so we could settle the bill. I don t mind the premium prices, I d like a little bit of service.
Cool atmosphere and great food.
After hearing great reviews my family and I made a 1.5 hour trip to have lunch with friends. My toddler has a peanut/tree nut allergy so we called ahead and confirmed with the staff that they could accommodate his needs. We were told there would absolutely be no issues , and they even spoke with the kitchen while I was on the phone. On arrival The server was extremely friendly and helpful with taking our order and checking with the kitchen so that his food would be safe. After checking, and asking our child what food he would like, the manager ( not introduced as that, but that was the assumption ) came to our table and said that she can t guarantee that there won t be cross contamination, so her solution was that our child not be served. You can imagine a hungry 3 year olds reaction, especially one that repeatedly can t enjoy things kids eat because of his allergy. We ve traveled all over North America and have never encountered an experience like this. More often, the manager will bring out the chef and go over a simple solution and work around it. We asked several questions , and ultimately ordered what we felt was the safest option for our child based on the limited information provided. More education on the common allergens when serving food should be a priority for this restaurant . Alternatively if you can t provide safe options for guests with allergies , be upfront and have all staff on the same page , so we don t have to gamble on our sons health and safety . Unfortunately, we will not be returning due to these circumstances surrounding our visit .
Told that had to wait for outside table so we took inside however there was plenty outside availability all through our meal. Service was slow. Ordered our meals a cider and a beer. Wife got her cider right away but no beer. When our meal came I had no beer. Asked the server who delivered our meal for my beer. Continued to eat my burger. After eating 2/3rds I went to the bar and asked for my beer. Was told to get it from my server. Note the person taking our order was different that the person delivering the drinks and delivering the food. When we got the food my wife said the fries were cold. There was nothing done or acknowledged about the fries. There seemed to be a lot of staff so unsure why the poor service. Would not go again
Beautiful place. Great food. What else can be said? Its a nice drive to come here too. Its tucked in the middle of nowhere and the place is booming. They have a tasting option for the ciders. Instead of committing to one cider, I got 4 in 4 ounce glasses and enjoyed their selection that way. They were all delicious. My favourite was a tie between the ginger and pineapple mimosa. Would love to come here again and sit at the massive patio.
Yesterday, we packed up both boys and made the short trek to Slabtown Cider. The parking lot is HUGE with plenty of spaces available. When you walk into the front doors, you realize this is a more upscale but fun establishment. There were barrels and pretty lights for decoration. The open concept kitchen was something different. We were seated outside on the patio in a nice spot with some shade . We brought our own doggy supplies but within minutes staff had brought the boys a bowl of water and they were getting ample love to make them comfortable. There were a lot of doggos enjoying the sunshine with their paw-rents. The menu is vast and everything I seen come out of the kitchen looked top notch. Ill definitely be coming back to try some of their food choices. I opted for a half dozen Chebooktook oysters. They were tasty and went down too quickly. We purchased a flight of ciders as well as two glasses. I was not disappointed with any of my choices. We were told there is going to be a peach cider released in a few weeks, so I guess we will be heading back to try that one! Chebooktook Oysters Honey Habanero Raspberry Tea Legendary Cherry Pineapple Mimosa Peppermint Black Lager Hazy IPA Im not normally a Lager fan, but the Peppermint Black Lager was delicious. The Legendary Cherry had real tart cherry flavor which can be hard to achieve in alcoholic drinks. Everything was superb. It was a great environment and Ill be back in a few weeks time! Thank you to all the staff who were super friendly and stopped by our table to comment on our doggos and give them some love.
May 2023: I was recently there and had a great time. Service and food were good. The one downside was that they have a TV but oddly refuse to turn it on. I asked staff why they wouldn t turn it on and they said it was because the restaurant is meant to be fine dinning. However they have a bar section with a TV and the overall atmosphere of Slabtown feels relaxed and casual. So very confusing message they are trying to send. This was a playoff hockey game and an important one at that. Doesn t match the relaxed and inviting vibe that a cider house should provide! Put a bad taste in my mouth but hopefully they re willing to change! August 2023 Updating my review! However, the service was very poor. We had a larger party and our server hardly came to our table. Our water was never filled and we were quite thirsty. Kinda irritating when your server is missing in action. They also had none of the specials and some of the mains were missing as well. Gives you very minimal options to choose from. Food was good but service was so disappointing when you want to like a place that has potential. Just seems like they have enough business they gave up on the service end.
Excellent as usual.
Delicious food, excellent cider, courteous staff, relaxing atmosphere. A great place to enjoy
A very frustrating experience. I was here for an event. They had the inside and a bar outside. The outside bar didn t seem to care how long you were waiting and more interested in trapping wasps under cups. We wanted a seat and told it was an hour wait, yet tables sat empty on the patio for over 30 minutes. And we know this because we had to stare at the empty tables while we were in line waiting for wasp trapping servers. They have many interesting ciders to try, however if you go in to the bar, they won t serve you because you don t have a table. The wasp trappers outside only have 4 choices. So take that or leave it. To add insult to injury, the empty tables I was told I couldn t have (with my party of 8, that wanted to both eat and drink) was hijacked by others that walked by. Come on guys. Such a nice venue, lots of ciders to try, but I won t ever return because of this experience.
Absolutely horrible service! No one know what they are doing. They sell ciders in a tent outside in plastic cup, beers inside but they don t give you plastic cups if you get beer inside - bartender said plastic cups inside are for kids drinks. If I want a drink to sit outside I need to go to the tent and get a cider - no beers. We asked for table outside so we can get drinks, they said the wait is at least an hour but there was an open table for the size of our group open and it got hijacked by people in the tent line. And if you order food and don t have a seat you have to wait 20-30 mins for your food and keep an eye out yourself. They don t bother calling your name or anything. Walking in it looks great I was excited to come back. Interacting with staff I will never return. I didn t drink or eat their food.
Good flavour for burger, but fries cold Diverse selection for ciders Appetizers are not good value Live entertainment
Beautiful setting !!! Great cider and beers.
Awesome spot. Definitely coming back for more. A true Uxbridge gem.
A great place to hang out with friends. Delicious menu and surrounded by great views
Nice atmosphere, good food. No air conditioning, so dont go on a hot day.
Fantastic experience. Quality food and drinks. We had the Caprese Pizza, Bison burger and the Cuban along with two flights of cider. All were made with fresh ingredients and so tasty. The service was impeccable. We enjoyed the cider so much we bought 6 to come home with! Thanks Slabtown!
The food was excellent, and the ciders are very tasty! Dog friendly patio!!
Finally made it to Slabtown and it exceeded my expectations. The set up was wonderful with many seating options. The ciders and the food tasted delicious. The service was excellent. Looking forward to returning.
Decided last minute to stop by and ordered a delicious salmon dish! We had Rachel (her first day!!) and she killed it. Will definitely be coming back again!
A surprise eatery!! Picnics ro semi formal dining. Food was great
Wow. This place is great! A real surprise and great addition to Uxbridge. My daughter insisted we visit after enjoying dinner here. Lovely outdoor patio with plenty of seating. You can buy drinks and sit on tables in the larger (acres) of green grass. The restaurant is reasonably priced and food was excellent and fast. Highly recommend visiting. Make sure to bring home a bottle of cider from the gift shop. Oh and dogs are allowed!
Tonight was a bad experience with service and disappointing food. We ordered numerous dishes from grilled peach salad which was not very flavorful or grilled enough; short ribs were nervy and chewy; grilled octapus was ok; butter chicken was very bland and did not even taste like butter chicken. Long waits for staff to take food order. Was a costly dinner but not impressed. 4 outta 10 for us. Sorry.
Very disappointed to see the vast decline in service and food quality . We used to recommend this place to everyone and now, that s embarrassing. A burger that used to be beautiful and actual meal is now Oreo sized served in a huge bun and greatly overcooked. Service was terrible. A drink was spilled an no one ever came to help us clean it up or to ask if we d like to order another beverage. It s just sad, 10/10 will not return . Go to Banjo Cider instead.
UPDATE 08/31/23. Received a call from co-owner, Lori today. She was genuinely interested in understanding what went wrong so that she could use the information as a learning opportunity for her staff. I came away from our conversation with a renewed confidence that my negative experience was the result of a collective number of unfortunate occurrences. Perhaps that was not the last time I will visit - they still get 5+ stars for the venue! Relating an experience from last week - Slabtown was given the opportunity to respond in advance of me making this public. I have been to Slabtown several times during the last couple of years and have enjoyed the experience. Today, sadly, was a different story - it started bad and got worse. The 3 star rating is an average of the 5 stars for atmosphere and the 1 star for the food and how my issue with it was dealt with. We were a group of 9. We were seated outside under canvas at a nice table and our server greeted us promptly. It was at this time, Aaron described the specials and also advised us that the restaurant was out of bacon. Out of bacon - many of the menu items feature bacon - someone couldn t have made a trip to Costco we joked around the table. No substitutions were offered, no adjustment to pricing suggested - just - no bacon. I ordered the Bison Burger which usually features bacon and costs $26.00. One bite of my burger should have been enough. It was dry and tasteless. My dining companion suggested I return it to the kitchen but instead I took another bite - worse than the first. The balance of the burger was left on the plate. When clearing the table and it became clear that Aaron was not going to ask if there was a problem with my meal, I suggested to him that he make the kitchen aware that the burger was not edible. His solution was to remove the partially eaten burger from in front of me. When the bills were presented, another fellow diner asked what the Chef had said. Bison is leaner and it may have been slightly overcooked - end of story. I probably should have asked for the Manager but really felt that my concerns would fall on deaf ears so I left. I have never, ever written a bad review - if I am not happy with food and / or service I just don t go back but this experience really bothered me.
Me and my girlfriends visited after other friends had recommended this place to me so I was super excited when we finally reach the venue. It is such a cute location and setup! The weather was amazing as well which was a bonus. We walked in and there was not much of a wait, maybe 5 min or so. We requested a seat outside in the sun and were given the high table which was beautiful. The view was great, our waiter Jack was also amazing! Super knowledgeable and honest, telling us what he believed were the best tasting drinks and food! We ordered the Jamaican jerk pizza, jambalaya rigatoni, seafood linguine, spinach dip and funghi pizza. We also ordered the 2 flights, one has pineapple mimosa, watermelon thyme ,peach bellini and a mojito one. My friend got the honey bourbon, a mojito one , peach bellini and I cant recall the last drink. All in all we had a great experience, service was great, atmosphere was wonderful, we took a little stroll around the orchard and also bought some skors cookies and butter tarts and some bottles of cider to go!!! We will definitely come back here for another trip!!! Ps their house garlic sauce is soooo amazing!!!
Excellent location out in the country. Lots of room for the dogs to run around. Very large patio spaces that are pup friendly. Good menu and excellent service. Next time I ll remember to take pictures of the food
Good was great but service was very, very, slow.
Amazing food credible service and wonderful. Highly recommend that you come here if you havent done so already
Service is bad, I would give zero stars. The food was good but when the food arrived it was cold.
Love the atmosphere and cider and mocktail cider options.
Great place with amazing food and music! We came up for dinner and drinks and had outstanding service from Danika (I hope I spelled her name correctly!) We found this place through friends who invited us. We will be back thank you!
One of the best breweries in Ontario. Everything is great
This place is nice, the food is great, but the manager is bad in customer service. I would not go again just because of the manager.
I usually LOVE this place. I am a regular here and tell everyone to come However, I was here again this week and finally feel the need to bring attention to the food situation, which seems to be going downhill. This time, multiple ordered items had to be sent back, as the kitchen had messed up. Also, I ordered a wonton salad and added chicken; the salad was a small bit of under-dressed spinach, cabbage, a few strands of carrot, 3 peanuts, and two small pieces broken off of a wonton. The small, thin piece of grilled chicken was an extra $9+tax.. So, the salad all together was $30.00 plus tax . For a sad, little salad I have no problem paying for quality, but this was not that! I have noticed this pattern, of the food going downhill, every time I have come within the last year or so. I had hoped that it was just a fluke, but the quality unfortunately seems to be continuing to go down, as the prices continue to rise. (I still love all the servers and the cider+ atmosphere is top notch. My issue is solely with the kitchen. Seems to be going down hill quickly..) Hopefully they can get their act together in the kitchen, otherwise I will probably just continue going but only for drinks and then go elsewhere for food. Edit** went back recently to re try it. Ordered the expensive steak meal and my friend had a spinach salad. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came well-done with very little accompanying it on the side. Was very expensive for a chewy overdone piece of meat three fingerling potatoes a couple carrot sticks and two broccolis. My friends salad was not only bland (just spinach e with olive oil on it and some cut up apple) but it was legitimately rotten.. she had to pick around to be able to eat some of it and then left the rest. Server never asked if anything was wrong with the meal (as she didn t eat any of it before he cleared) and also never asked how it was when it was sat down either. I had very little faith that anything would have been corrected if we had said anything anyways, unfortunately. Kitchen is still doing a very subpar job, over charging and under delivering. Cider is still amazing.
2 hour wait for a table on a Saturday at 4pm. Outdoor area doesn t have non alcoholic options other than warm apple juice. And doesn t offer the food specials! definitely worth calling before driving out here. Brutal.
Spent a very nice Sunday afternoon at Slabstone a few weeks back. Very spacious area - great for a large family lunch. All the food was very good - highly recommend the pizza there! Don t forget to ask for the hot sauce. Cider and beer flights were a fantastic way to try the huge menu. Would highly recommend taking the trip. The dog friendly park is a huge plus :).
Great location and accomodating ownership, good food/service/value.
The place is as good as the food. I love that the place is pet friendly, it made me feel like I m in Canada again.
Ok so this review is about a month late but I know it still applicable because I have sent friends and family to Slabtown since then and EVERYONE is raving. It s literally to the point that I almost want to say this place is sh*t just so I can gatekeep and make sure it doesn t get any busier (we ll deserved btw). I would love to highlight Denika (I m so sorry if I m spelling this wrong) who was an amazing waitress, gave great recommendations, was very attentive without being too breathing-down-the-neck and even went so far as to run in to see the restaurant playlist to get the name of a song that had just played because me and my dad both really liked it. The music is great, the vibes are awesome, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is DELICIOUS!! Overall, my parents had gone here earlier in the week and wanted to bring me and my brother for an end of summer dinner. The drinks are so refreshing and delicious .and strong ( I m on crutches at the moment so that was a bit funny, another note is that the building is an easy layout if you have mobility issues!! A very well lit ramp for when you stay a little too late) Do yourself a favour and get the Pickle and Bacon pizza .just do it. My dad ordered it as a joke and after the first bite he did not want to share! One last note: you can tell a lot about a place by the way the owner carries themselves in it. My dad was walking back to us with some ciders while we were waiting for our reservation and a woman asked him if he liked the ciders. He stopped and chatted and raved about the place, saying how he s been here many times and loves the place and food, then he asked if she had been there before .to which she replied that she owned the place. Not snobby, not boasting - genuine connections and looking to see if guests are enjoying themselves. We later watched as she continued to walk around and empty out the trash, clear vacant tables and old pizza boxes. The fact that that was my first impression of the place (with a delicious glass of their classic cider in hand) was enough to know this place was going to be awesome. Sorry for the long review, but the work being done here deserves to be appreciated and recognized! I will be back!!
We went for my bday tonight. It was amazing and Stefanie was one of the best servers I have ever had. If you go here, ask for her. She made our night!
Food and drinks were great, but the service from Stephanie is the number one reason I would come back. She was fantastic and so memorable.
We have given this restaurant a fair shot with multiple dining and social outings, but our experience today was truly unforgivable. From an extremely rude and insulting hostess (not friendly or helpful in ANY way), to waiting for over an hour and 45 minutes for a table (when we were told 30-40 minutes meanwhile we stood beside 4-5 empty tables the ENTIRE time), to watching multiple upset guests leave due to poor/lack of service, to no one really helping or having answers - just utter chaos and disorganization. We love the atmosphere and location but we will sadly not return. Expect slow and frustrating service. So disappointing, as it truly has so much potential to be a successful establishment!
We came with some close friends for a good evening out and were beyond disappointed. The hostess let us know that it would be a 30-40mins wait time at 3:30pm so we patiently waited with a drink. When we tried to get another drink we denied at the bar. The staff were told different instructions and management had step in at one point to allow for us to get a drink at the bar. After waiting for over an hour and watching 5-6 empty tables that were reserved maintain being empty we sat at one and after 10mins were asked to move and we would be waiting another 40mins for our table. The hostess was very rude and we felt pushed out. We will never recommend or come back to this establishment. It is unfortunate because the place is beautiful and the food is amazing!
I recently had the unforgettable experience of dining at a brewry called SLABTOWN that left me both bemused and amused. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a hostess with a neck posture that could rival a giraffe s She embodied an impeccable display of stiff-necked elegance.. Her ability to enforce the no outdoor seating policy, despite the empty tables outside, was truly a spectacle of dedication to rules. Seems like every employee hates their job here. Now, let s talk about the food. The spinach dip was genuinely to die for. I m convinced that if I were stranded on a desert island with just a bowl of that dip, I d survive just fine. Creamy, savory, and served with an assortment of dippable delights, it was the highlight of the evening. As for the pizza, well, it took on a slightly dramatic role. The first one arrived looking like it had been to a fiery tango dance-off with the oven. But here s where the restaurant s turnaround game was strong within seconds, they whipped it away and presented a fresh, unburnt pizza that tasted like heaven on a crust. In the end, despite the two-hour wait and the neck bending hostess, I left the restaurant with a smile. It was a meal filled with quirks and culinary extremes, reminding me that sometimes, the most memorable dining experiences are the ones that keep you laughing long after the last bite. 3 stars Breakdown Minus 1 star rude hostess Minus half star for not being able to have a seat at a table Minus half star for super burnt pizza but replaced so this is why they get only have a half star.
Pricy, but tasty
Ive been going here since it first opened with food trucks. I always love the cider, the beer, and the food. Unfortunately the last two times the service has been very slow. First we asked for our bill and waited almost 30 minutes and this most recent time we were seated for almost an hour before we could order food (and we were starving!). Seems like the wait staff are always running around busy, so maybe tables arent grouped well or need more wait staff?
Great outdoor patio. Had the Salmon and it was fantastic.
So much fun. Had a flight of ciders. They also have a nice selection of beers. Nice menu - the charcuterie board was incredible. We will go back definitely
Nice place, great views, friendly service, fun cider and beer options. Food is ok, had the burger, was presented well, little over done, but still enjoyable.
Great meal. Beef tenderloin was perfect. Service was very good and the Cider was so good.
Great space. Great atmosphere.
Spontaneously stopped in on our way home last night and really enjoyed it. We got lucky and found space at the bar, otherwise we were told the wait would be almost 2 hours. Make a reservation if you can. Its a nice spot with a good atmosphere on a Friday night. Enjoyed the live music and the flights of cider. The habanero and pumpkin spice ciders were quite nice. For food we had the double smashed burger, calabrese pizza and the pickles & bacon pizza. Everything tasted amazing. We werent sure what to expect for the pickle pizza but it was a great surprise. And the owners seem lovely. Will definitely go again next time were in the area.
Delicious food and excellent cider. View is very scenic.
Great place with excellent food and top notch craft cider. Service was also fantastic. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
I love the founders cider, good atmosphere, but very disappointing veggi wrap, bland ,cold and overpriced! Consider at least putting it in a more creative wrap, and using a panini press to heat up. Its a beautiful place, and gorgeous setting, but menu needs some creativity.
Busy location, but great outdoor space it bringing kids/dogs. Cider was very tasty. Buffalo burger was on the dry side. Second time in and had the pizza. It was really good and would have again. Had live music and the singer did a good job.
Stopped in for a bite to eat and a drink. The food and service were both excellent. I recommend stopping here. I will definitely be back again.
This is my favourite place. The food, the cider, the vibes, the staff everything here is just amazing.
Good atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Food is delicious and served quickly. This said only in regards to the steak, taste great but over priced for what you get. No extra side or mushrooms, etc. On that note was disappointed. I do recommend going. Fun place to spend with friends.
We went for dinner last night and it was fantastic. The cider was so good it was hard not to have too much. I would recommend this place to anyone . it was so tastefully built. Definitely will not be our last time there...
Been here a few times. A convenient place to go after youve been hiking or biking the Durham Forest. Friendly staff and great tasting beers made right there. Food is also very good. They could turn the heat up a bit on a cold day though ;-) Will definately be there again.
hands-down one of the best cideries around GTA! great food, live music on the weekends and delicious cider and beer. I highly recommend trying all of their drinks in flights of 4; my favourite cider is London Fog.
Found the food very overpriced for mediocre quality. Ordered a Margarita pizza and asked for extra basil and was told there might be an extra charge. When the pizza arrived there were 6-7 pieces of basil total... for which I was charged $1 extra . Might go back for the cider or beer but will definitely never eat there again.
Alright. Nice views. Decent food. Clean-enough bathrooms with spacious stalls that dont require you to climb over the toilet to close the stall door like some places off the beaten path. Not enough seating. And for what theyre charging its slightly insulting that they dont offer their guests Wi-Fi (note that theres also no service or minimal service in this area depending on your carrier).
What I like: ambiance, food, service. Greeted pleasantly, hostess was very pleasant and friendly, food was tasty. What I didnt like: gratitude was set at a specific rate of 20% because I was part of a group of patrons (18). Generally speaking I usually leave 15-20%, however I reserve the right to that amount, I do not like it to be dictated to me. Would I be returning? Dont think so. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Dec 16 - The Good: Hostess was friendly even though other customer were being sharp with her, she managed it well. She was accurate on wait times (we were walk-in). Live Music was great. Ciders and Beers were good 9/10. Soup of the Day was excellent (potato soup) 9/10. The Not so good: we sat at bar and the Bartender was fine but he needs to be more attentive. Manager behind bar was pretty grumpy about something she carried it our entire stay, which is why we ended up not complaining about the Penne dish that was too salty 3/10 (ate maybe 4-5 bites) Mentioned it to both a waitress and the bartender, but no one offered any resolution. Still proceeded to charge us for it though. Overall great atmosphere, and prime rib sandwich was good 8/10. They just need to improve a few things at the margins on the Service. Food issues can be excused if they do something about it when it s brought to their attention.
