Beautiful picturesque little village. Location, perfect. Food and wine excellent. The staff, wonderful and the attention to detail, perfect. Enjoy a wonderful experience. Thank you Green Man. We all had a lovely time.

We came for lunch to this pub In the lovely old village centre. The beer was very good. We had the set menu, which was good pub fare but nothing more. A pleasant lunch overall.

Went to this pub to buy a friend a coffee but were greeted by a very rude asian looking woman telling us and another group of 4 people that they didnt open until 12.00 even though their website said 11.00 am. She was very aggressive and although I live close by and have used this pub in the past, would certainly not ever go there again.

A nice spot for cheeky wine Staff were very friendly, bought our drinks over to the table for us. Nice little pub, had a lovely cozy feeling to it too, specially on a rainy monday night.

A great local pub with usually superb food. Ribs are always great, we had five different meals and everyone said how great the food was. The chef did finish early as it wasnt very busy, so we did miss out on some desserts. Come here regularly.

This isn t the pub it used to be. Food is okay but surely don t serve frozen chips while putting out well thought out meals. Service was slow - we had to clear our own table after 30 minutes of waiting as the flies were gathering. Staff nice enough but seemed more concerned with people sitting inside than in outside.

I never write poor reviews and often put it down to an off day. The Sunday roast was particularly awful: overall tasteless with chewy beef and soggy potatoes. I could see a stack of dozens of Yorkshire puddings in the kitchen. After tasting mine, I asked for one that wasn t rock hard or cold and I was given one with oil seeping out of it instead. When asked, I explained that £25 for a roast + service in Denham is steep for food that was ultimately pushed around the plate. There was no offer of partial refund or to order something else just an explanation that everyone else loves the roast. Some dishes and drinks didn t arrive. Poor experience and won t be returning.

A wonderful warm reception as you arrive. A good and varied menu. Explained clearly and with passion by the staff. Executed superbly by the chef. There was no issue cooking g the lamb to my preference. Excellent apple.crumble A wider choice of Burbons required at the bar .

Have visited The Green Man, Denham on a number of occasions before with well deserved 5 star reviews. However, today we were very disappointed - food was very mediocre (more fast food outlet than gastropub - but charged at gastropub prices!) Service was really lacking (staff were polite but all seemed unhappy and disinterested in their work) wine glasses were dirty and the bottle was just left on our table in a wine cooler! Sadly, we wont be returning...

Body language of all staff was off, front of house chaotic and seemed to be frustrated amongst themselves, and this set the tone for our vist. Food was mediocre. This could be a really nice pub, but Id recommend losing the front of house bloke (has no front teeth!) as he doesnt seem to want to be there.

My late wife and I loved coming to the Green Man. Staff were lovely, the locals always welcoming, and the Sunday roast a treat. After nearly two years to the day I lost my wife I thought I would relive some memories and enjoy the football last weekend. I have never been so upset to see that what was such a lovely pub has become the worst I have ever been to. Entering the pub I had to force my way through a intimidating group of men led by a very drunk man bragging about how he had evaded the police in a car chase and spent some nights in prison as a result, and that it was not his first time. After going in it transpired that he was the head chef at the Green Man. He then went on to be disrespectful regarding customers, and his right to have the table he wanted because of his position. Inside was no better. The match was being shown in a marque in the garden. There was none of the characture of the pub I knew. The new management and chef are clearly brining in a very threatening type client. One that makes you feel intimidated and uncomfortable. There were children in the pub, I don t know how anyone could expose their child to this type of atmosphere. As for the food I saw coming out to customers, I put the menu straight on the table and I left. What has happened to this lovely village pub!

We booked for the seafood and jazz singer night and it was amazing! The menu was 5star and the food cooked to perfection! We had a platter consisting of lobster, crab, cod cheeks, prawns, cravates- the works. It was very well priced and the food was cooked fresh in front of us. The service was brilliant and the atmosphere with the music was lovely.

Overpriced and poor service Really poor visit today. Disappointed as had been a few years ago and enjoyed the food back then. And we were back for a birthday treat. Very limited menu and slow service. Took around 25 minutes for all our drinks to arrive. When it did we had to regive the order and no glasses were given for the bottles or cans. It took nearly an hour for our food to come out. When the first plates came out we didn t have any cutlery and we had to go and get it. We just didn t feel attended too at all and only managed 1 round for drinks in 2 hours as we weren t asked again for any further drinks and due to the wait we didn t bother. The salads, kids meals and scampi were very nice and improved the visit and why we have rated the food a 3. The roast dinners seemed very greasy, chicken was dry and vegetables overcooked. The stuffing we ordered on the side seemed to just be sausage. A real shame and we felt begrudged to pay the auto added service charge as we hadn t felt much service during our visit today. We skipped dessert as we didn t think it would come out promptly. Despite the kids meals including ice cream we were not offered this and we just paid and left. A shame as we ve had better visits in prior years.

Bad customer service had to wait over 45 minutes for food considering it was very quite not friendly atmosphere

Have gone to the green man multiple times before, however this time I was massively disappointed. Seems like it s been taken over by new management. It took us ages for someone to take our order, there were 2 girls behind the bar who seemed to be hired to also take orders and serve food from the kitchen. The manager seemed half cut, serving customers yet drinking pints from the bar. The only thing that saved them was the quality of the food. Over all it s terrible, not the same as it was, it wouldn t surprise me if it closes down Sundays there used to be so busy, today it was practically empty

First time visiting Denham and had an excellent lunch here. The lamb burger was delicious!! Great beer and staff really friendly.

Appalling service, very average food and incredibly over priced . £155 for 3 adults and 2 toddlers- 5 drinks only 2 alcoholic . No baby change facilities Service charge mandatory and cannot be removed I will avoid in the future

Prices are like in central London. We had Sunday rost beef which was tasteless. My 2 friends had chicken roast and chicken was pink (raw) in the middle. We complained and chef sent us another 2 chicken legs. I will share picture with you. Chicken smelled like burnt hair so we think chef used flame to burnt skin to give it colour. Of course we couldn t eat it. They gave us dessert on them as an apology.(thank you for that ) . Roast chicken should be roasted and not colourless. Gravy didn t have any taste. I ate there with friends one year ago and food was great but this time we couldn t believe it how bad was it and as I said we paid central London price for it.

I have just seen the green man has a 2 star food health and hygiene rateing. It was ALWAYS 5 star for the past 20 years. They need to improve the kitchen hygiene before it gets closed down and find a good chef like they did in the past. Such a shame. Vegetarian options: The food is not vegie friendly and is 2 star

I visited last week with my wife, i must say i was SHOCKED! The managment has changed and not for the better! Last time we came there was a young man as the manager and him and his team were lovely and could not do enought for us. Sadly this time the new manager was a mess! and the menu was very limited. We were sat at the table nearest the kitchen and after sending back my green man burger two times because it was RAW (Swimming in blood RAW) WE Could hear the chef being rude shouting and swearing saying (THE CUSTOMERS ARE WRONG) MY wife had the fish and it was greesy and tasted as if it was frozen not fresh she left 90% of it and did not send it back as the so called chef did not seem intererted in any feedback from paying customers. After talking to our waiter and getting a mundaine response we asked for the manager and kept getting told he is upstairs watching tv (how we laughed) he must have come down 4 more times after that just to make himself pints of beer from the bar and run upstairs again as i glared around the corner at him he never came to talk to us or the staff did not tell him. We paid and left swiftly and went to eat at The swan next door (as my wife was so hungry) i must say the service was amazing and the food was to die for we even had the owner ask if we were satisfied now that is how to run a business. Night and day to the green man. We will avoid the green man until the management changes or the young manager returns. A real shame.

A bit pricey for a pub but lovely food and good friendly service. I had the slow cooked pork belly and it was delicious especially the crackling!!! a lot of chefs cook pork belly well but not many get the crackling right too! compliments to the chef :-) Food

A cosy, welcoming pub in picturesque Denham village. Quite compact but with a fair sized rear garden for warmer weather, popular with locals and they didnt mind us traipsing in with muddy footwear. Food was good and plentiful, staff helpful and pleasant.

Been several times, and its a good place to meet with family. But on this occation although the atmosphere was good, the service and food wasnt up to past Sunday roasts.

Visited recently for a meet up with family. Lovely Gastropub. Ordered some starters for a light lunch. I tried the soup of the day, which was delicious (cauliflower) and it was served with some toasted sourdough bread. The rest of the family had chicken wings and the pate. Sadly the first choice of the sharing meze board was not available. Good choices of beers/drinks. Staff were friendly. I used the facilities and they were clean. Lovely setting and overall very good.

Went for lunch with family, waitress on her first trial day spilt a whole pint of drink over the table including my 4 year old and two other family members. Staff were very apologetic and very quick to clean up the mess and re-set the table and the owner was very apologetic too and made a real fuss over my son who was quite upset. She made such an effort with both of my children, giving them a small teddy and big bag of sweets as a way of apology and even let them meet the chefs which they loved! This was really appreciated. Food was lovely, we all had roasts with clean plates all round. Deserts were lovely too. If we are ever in the area again we will be sure to come back.

Just moved into the area and this has become our local. Menu has all the classics but also daily specials that are all rather good. Pub is dog friendly and staff - especially Viv - are awesome. If you are kind they ll help you with rather taxing pub quiz :-)

Disappointed that we had to sit on a slope in the back garden area of the pub, in a large plastic tent, for our lunch on Mothers Day. I had booked online and had expected to be sat in the pub itself, so I was surprised when, without any prior warning, on arrival we were walked through the pub, up the steps and into tented area. Not the ideal experience for my partner and our 18 month old daughter on a cold day. I wouldnt have booked this restaurant had I known this would be the case. One thing to note - the serving staff were excellent and I dont want this to seem to criticise them in any way.

I booked the green man as it is in a very nice area and had good ratings, however overall it was a disappointing experience. We were shown to a tent outside instead of getting a table inside which was cold and dark, I had to ask the staff to switch on the light. The service was good and the staff were attentive, however when our starters arrived there was a lot to be desired. They were tiny in size and for over £10 each the quality was very low. We also orders roast which was very nice as main and the salmon main was also good.

Great fish and chips, a lovely lady greeted us when we went for lunch at the end of February.

30 minutes to take our order, 30 minutes to bring out the food. Table was booked in advance but it took an hour to start eating. Food reasonable, wait unreasonable.

Stop going there about 18 months ago when the then manager was extremely rude. As a local resident decided to give them another go. Obviously the previous manager was no longer there!

Haddock and chips was served with minted mushy peas and tartare sauce- yum!

Smashing pub. An ideal venue to enjoy the company of good friends over a few drinks and a meal. Dietary restrictions: Although limited wheat intolerant diners were catered for. Parking: Not unreasonable considering your in a quaint unspoilt village. Kid-friendliness: Family groups were made welcome and catered for.

Spotting Denham village on an old TV programme about World War 2, I thought Id go and see if the village had changed much. We Went to the Green Man pub in the village and found the food, staff and ambiance were great. We sat out in the garden on one of 2023s rare warm days. The village is beautiful with every other house draped in flowering wisteria. There are 3 pubs close to each other, all look worth a visit, so we will back to soak up this charming villages Englishness. Besides the ridiculous amount of cars parked up, the village looks like it hasnt changed in over 100 years!

Vegetarian options: Only 1 or 2 options for vegetarian in the main menu. But the curry I ordered was fab... Parking: Very tight spots for parking as few pubs nearby

Had an very delicious Sunday lunch with great ciders and gin and tonics - including a suggested grapefruit gin which was absolutely perfect in the sun. The staff were very attentive - making sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious with great portion sizes. Definitely will come back regularly for my Sunday roast.

The pub is very warm welcoming, I met my friends for a Sunday lunch, the service was quick and friendly. We had the cod snd nachos all was very amazing.

Visited for dinner during the week. Ordered the burger with chips and chicken and mushroom pie. Burger was very large and thick, cooked well and very tasty. Chips were very good and crisp. Came with coleslaw, which was a bit heavy on mayonnaise. Chicken and mushroom pie was fantastic. Seasoned well and hot. Great atmosphere and employees made suggestions for beers. We first tried to stop by on a very hot day when they closed the kitchen, one of the employees helped point us to an easily walkable area with food options. Very helpful.

The bread and olives was divine, the Sunday roast mouthwatering and the Eaton Mess was excellent. The company was as always brilliant, lots of laughs and an all round wonderful Sunday afternoon spent. So thank you to Cheri and the team for looking after us.

Sunday roast in the summer - we were in the garden with our dog which is covered. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and quick... But we were in just before the rush. I feel a pub like this should have a wider range of eclectic ales but beers on offer were fine.

Good quaint pub, good portion to the food and very good service from the young man who served us, car parking outside the pub can be a pain as limited spaces but can be lucky and get one if willing to wait or do a bit of walking. The place has some outside seating in the back of the establishment, which would be nice on a warm day

Friday night not too busy. Service brusque food quite average unfortunatly. Scalop starter 4 tiny scalop pieces. Salad looked good though.

Nice covered large area in the back which was great for our large group. Food was fine, nothing to write home about. I had the sea bass & didnt think the combo was great (clementine salsa, with skin up fish on pickled cucumber, salty crab ball). The gents didnt enjoy the burger much. Cousins said the chicken sandwich & salmon salad were nice. Rhubarb crumble was enjoyable. Sticky toffee was very very dense, almost like a Christmas fruit pudding. Service was pretty poor from 1 person unfortunately - a gentleman server with salt & pepper hair in a black polo wasnt very kind & was a bit snippy to an elderly family member. Village is nice and the back area so Id come back for a pint.

Had a superb lunch here on Tuesday afternoon with 3 clients and 2 directors of my company recycle DNC Ltd , the food was Devine and excellent service from all the staff couldn t fault anything from the liver and bacon to the fish and chips or burgers hence why I have just booked again to go this Sunday to try their Sunday roast with my partner and my mum . You won t be disappointed it quality all round Parking: Roll up early because very busy at the weekends

Back again, June 2023, and as good as ever! Veg curry is superb, as in the chicken noodle. Good village pub, love it, good food good service.. had a Green Man burger, very nice home made, great smoky after taste... The front of house staff are good to, very slick operation Nov 2023, new menus, not been here for a few months, lovely food and service... Vegetarian options: Only a few veggie options, but they are good

Very nice pub. nice atmosphere very cosy I loved the king prawns they were amazing.

Overall amazing service, lovely atmosphere. Roast dinner was ok, sides were in-edible and a few roasts were not nice but the staff were very attentive and helpful and removed the food that was not up to standard.

Booked a table in October, rang again in November to make sure that the booking was recorded and they had the correct number of diners. Turned up on the day to be told that there was no booking. They then scrambled around and provided a table in a marquee at the back that fluctuated from cold to hot. Food was OK but nothing special and the service was very slow. Not somewhere we will go again

This is a lovely pub. We had Sunday lunch as a Birthday celebration. There were 11 of us and placed the food order in advance. The food was great. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Definitely recommended!

So first of all the star rating is severely hampered by the service and greeting we received. We clearly didn t get the friendly green giant for a waitress. We arrived with a table booked and the waitress couldn t have been more annoyed to see us. We then found a 5£ note on the floor and gave it to the waitress to put in the tip pot and at no point did we get a thank you. (The bar tender was a nice fella) This being said the roast dinners were very very nice. The meat was cooked very well and there was no shortage of trimmings. The chilly was also very good. Good job chefs!!

Their prices have shot up significantly with portion sizes and quality going down. Used to be one of my favourite spots in Denham but I dont think Ill be going back. I get the ribs every time and theres been a decline in size & quality. Used to be about £16.50 now its £24. £8 for a tiny cheesecake in a cup. A drink, dinner and dessert with service ends up being £40-50 a head. Its a shame as I understand cost of supplies have gone up.

I took my Dad here for a roast on Fathers Day and, despite being incredibly busy, the staff were all brilliant. Every course was sensational and arrived promptly. My Dads a long standing CAMRA member and spoke very highly of the Rebellion on tap too. Dads already making plans to go back again soon and I wont be long behind him.

I believe I arrived on an exceptional busy day, so a bit of wait for food. Overall the service was OK. However, the waitress that we had wad brilliant. What wasnt so good, was the fish and chips...dripping in grease :(

Lovely food. For the money spent one would expect better service. No greeting upon arrival. Had to walk around to find a member of staff to ask if we could sit at a table and order food. We were told it was self service , that is go to bar to order but off hand service when I went to order. After a long wait our main courses were brought to our table, but we had not had our starters! If we had not already paid we would have skipped the starters toeat our mains while fresh! No apology was offered. A shame. Lovely setting, but rear garden ruined with large covered area.

Great attention to detail. Even though we only had drinks, there were lovely touches, like a generous portion of mixed berries in our glasses of water, which makes this my kinda place.

Took my German friends to the Green Man to experience the wonderful Woolpack recommended by Teresa. They were impressed & will be back for more very soon. Thank you

A pint of lemonade/blackcurrent cost £5.50 as much as a pint. The Manager said I don t make up the prices take it or leave it. One sip it was so watereddown I returned it and didn t bother eating in as it was shirt staffed and they looked so stressed. Sad service, sad prices! One star!

Second visit to this little pub didnt quite match up to our expectations, Im afraid... Though the food was excellent and portions a really good size, service was sadly lacking, with three or four people milling around behind the bar and no one paying any attention to service! We had to bring this to the waitstaffs attention twice ~ the first time, after waiting nearly fifteen minutes to be served, after we arrived. The staff were however apologetic, friendly and courteous. Axxx

Theresa and her team are just the most fantastically warm and welcoming people you could want for and that warmth creates a wonderful atmosphere to relax in. The food is to a very good standard; I had the hake and it was lovely, I also tried the mutton curry, not as good as mine :) but was also very nice. My family and I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. A big thank you to the guys at the Green Man in Denham Village for their kindness.

The place is an absolute gem. Theresa, the owner/manager, is extremely welcoming to us and our little one. The food is amazing and reasonably priced considering the costs of everything are going through the roof. They dont skimp on quality despite this. The ribs are amazing and I cant wait for the pies to come back on the winter menu. Thanks again for being so accommodating.

Wow, my first time at this pub, and I wasnt disappointed, Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife Birthday. The food was fantastic roast lamb with all the trimmings (and a side of pigs in blankets) the staff were also great, well be back soon. Thank you :)

Food was OK but overpriced for. Reason for the 1 star: there is a step and dropped ceiling in the hall to the mens toilets, there are no markings, not even an easy to put up mind your head sticker or yellow and black marking - being 64, after leaving the mens toilet I smacked my head on the ceiling whilst walking back as I didnt duck, causing a bruise. Upon paying up, I mentioned they should have some kind of warning of the dropped ceiling, only to be told we dont get many tall people in here, thats not happened before, sorry... seriously? I wont be rushing back here.

Great pub, serve rebellion beer which I love , overall great food, great drinks and a friendly service.

Vegetarian options: Not much I had the marguerites pizza. Without doubt the worst pizza I have had in my life. At £12.75 this pub should be ashamed. From a packet, the base was hard and it was the smallest size possible

The food was great. Large portions. The fish & chips are really nice, a few more chips wouldnt have gone amiss but the staff are lovely & professional.

The bread portion on the poached egg and mushroom starter was very small. Which meant I was hungry after I had devoured the egg etc and I had nothing to eat the last of the Hollandaise sauce either. Such a cheap item which would have made the dish more balanced, in my opinion.

The welcome was brilliant in this nice location pub,it had a lovely warmth about it. When we got there 5.45pm. First time visit plus it was there pub quiz night Tue 8pm but we arrived without booking and the lad was friendly and got us a table for us 3 and the ladys who served us was all very nice. Knowing that she was from my local area as well. Food was fantastic too. Thank you all

What a lovey cosy pub. The staff are amazing and tried so hard to help us. Unfortunately we didnt manage to eat there. But I would definitely go back for some local banter and a drink.

I went here with family for a Sunday roast and they delivered a delicious one. Everything was perfectly cooked, great potatoes just how you want them, beef just the right shade of pink. If you enjoy a good roast its definitely worth a visit and the effort trying to find somewhere to park as the area is very popular with walkers.

Always very friendly staff. Delicious food. Tonight stayed for the pub quiz. We came second and enjoyed the evenings entertainment from the one and only quiz master who was hilarious . Thank you for a fun night.

Outstanding. Really tasty food, good portions with deliciously cooked vegetables. The service from Rohat was superb. We went there twice while staying in the area and he made us feel so welcomewe felt like regulars.
