Excellent festive lunch, great food and atmosphere.
Had a rare Friday morning off of work, so stopped for an early morning breakfast, couldn't fault it in the slightest. Fantastic food, would recommend to anybody, and very quick and efficient service to boost. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with a constantly smile on their face, shout out in particular to kerry who looked after me from the moment I entered
Enjoyed an evening meal here with family. Good choices on the menu, although some of my mixed grill was a bit cool, not excessively, so not enough to complain about. Good choice of puddings and the sundaes are tasty. Staff were friendly and efficient. A couple of rapid chargers for your EV too, but didn't check out the rates.
Last time I had a meal here in the public bar was around 40 years ago if not more, it cost 21 shillings. The beer is still nice though and it is next to the river, and the service is good. Though it isn't all countryside now!
Historic pub. Kitted out in traditional style. The staff are polite and efficient. Massive seating areas outside and in. Im not sure if the dog station is a joke though!
I had lunch in this place recently. The place is nice when the sun is out. The food is nice. Good price quality. A pity there is no service at the table.
My first time here. After reading the reading the reviews i was very hesitate coming here. This service was great by Robin. Food was good.
Went here for a family meal and I have to say the food was absolutely terrible. We ordered our 3 year old a pizza and when it arrived it was clearly a Chicago town pizza that has been cooked in the microwave. It was inedible. The chips had looked like they had been sat out all day and thrown back into the fryer to heat them up. Our other son had a burger, which was just as awful. The picture attached is how the burger came out before our son started eating it. The roasts we ordered we terrible. Cold, dry and the roast potatoes were rock hard. Won’t be returning here any time soon.
Excellent Gluten free Christmas menu. Was able to order the full traditional turkey roast! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available
Great food and service reliably the best pub food in uxbridge
Went for a Christmas party 16 Dec 24 with friends, food was terrible, turkey cold defrosted, cold gravy, veg microwaved still raw not cooked. Came home and had proper food, money wasted, Never go there again and dont recommend. No option for zero star.
Visited for lunch. Bar ladys attitude was churlish and poor. Once in the restaurant area, no problems at all. Lunch menu food was acceptable for the price paid.
Starters were nice mains were awful. Twice a steak had to be sent back was cold. Chips hard in the middle burnt tasting hunters chicken.. please dont get us wrong we never complain about food and eat out alot but tonight they were just not on there game. Food area was busy. Hence all that they did take all mains of the bill. Fair play.. and the wee guy waiter was so kind and full of apologies bless him....
Great pub, in the past but there was a lack of staff, one person waiting tables, and trying to man the bar doing the best he could for a Friday afternoon. Please dont let this pub decline through poor service.
Vegetarian options: Good vegan Sunday roast! They updated the recipe this Autumn and it s amazing! Food
Really love this pub. A rural idyll 2 minutes from the centre of Uxbridge. Staff are always super friendly, especially Tom. Food is great value too. Highly recommend.
Lovely evening and the staff were fantastic
The food was very nice aswell as the service thanks to Tom and Emma
Attentive staff, nice quiet atmosphere and amazing food. Go for the trio of meats, cant fault it.
We had a wonderful table, amazing food and service and I can t wait to go back. Thank you to Tom, Jackie and Roxy
Always great food, congenial atmosphere and lovely service from Jo
Sunday lunch 29/9/24 was a shambles. Waited 30 mins to get order taken. 45 mins for wrong drinks. Vegan roast whilst available was averagely bad (but at least offered!). Not worth eating, certainly not worth going to eat. Food
Stunk of piss. Poor slow service. BAD
Slow service, stinks of piss, no atmosphere. More a bad restaurant than a pub.
Had a lovely breakfast here. The gentleman who served us was very helpful and friendly
Lovely evening in the restaurant good food and drink service excellent quick and easy with friends and family parking is very good too restaurant is clean and tidy the oak beams are very good too cant find any thing bad about the restaurant and the staff
The nicest and friendliest and most accommodating staff I have come across anywhere in a very long time.
Superb Guinness and a warm, clean and friendly British pub. Relaxed staff and welcoming.
Very nice to have a great deal their and would like to recommend it to anyone else
Usually love this pub but yesterday s experience was pretty poor. Service not great, food was lukewarm and the atmosphere- there was none
Sorry for the swearing from my friends, but it was a very nice pub and atmosphere
Its ok as a pub to stop for a short while
Had an absolutely lovely meal, the staff were great and always happy to help.
Tom was a lovely waiter very polite and helpful, and food was great
Great pub good food and service
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere!
The Swan and Bottle is our go-to place for a roast dinner in Uxbridge! It is always absolutely delicious! Today, we had brilliant service from Tom, who was very friendly - nothing was too much trouble for him. Definitely worth a visit.
Great service by Emma, food was excellent Parking: Plenty of spaces Food : 5/5 |
Parking: Canal side good location Food
Quick find as I needed a semi fast (50kw) charge. Easy road access & well dressed pub, good mixture of seating types for all pub goers. Didnt have any food, but was impressed with the fancy glasses given for my soft & non alcoholic drinks. Parking: Need to confirm the number plate before leaving on iPad esk device
Had a lovely evening meal with my partner at the Swan & Bottle. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Its spacious and comfortable inside and the food was excellent. Highly recommend the chefs board as a sharing starter and the pork belly was really tasty. Good value for money.
Visited today with friends, there was absolutely no service, waited ages to be served then when it arrived were not asked if we wanted any condiments meals were plonked down then took ages to return to order desserts. Menu is so meagre with little choice since it has been changed. We will not be returning any time soon.
Made good use of a mid week voucher to enjoy lunch at The Swan & Bottle. The service was excellent (thanks Fili), the food enjoyable and the atmosphere was relaxed. Would recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful afternoon with you last Saturday, made so much more special by the service from Jo & Tom and the superb food from the kitchen - thank you so much!
Staff stressed as busy and not enough of them. Had to send fish back as 60% batter and overcooked. Redeemed themselves by switching out existing order to send quicker and manager coming to apologise quickly. Mixed grill better than previousl time.
Food
Great British food and service!
Loved this place when I lived in London. Revisited on a recent trip back, the food and service, excellent as always
Food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend coming here for food. We sat outside, which was lovely. I just wish my food portion was bigger as it was absolutely delicious!
Lovely friendly service and good food
Lovely pub. Nice outside tables. Great choice of beers and lagers. Good food and attentive service. Best of all - parking!! Food
We went back tonight ....two rump steaks mine was passable my husbands you could see was scraggy and tough a mouthful confirmed. Nobody came to check if we were happy so we called someone over ....the manager....he took my husbands back to get another and he sat waiting watching me eat....no sign of his food I finished....no sign of food or update from staff who stayed away. My husband left the table I called someone for an update. She went in the direction of the kitchen then walked straight past ignoring us and stood at the bar with the manager. Half an hour with no food and not feeling like waiting for me then to sit watching my husband eat we decided to leave. Walking past the manager and staff...still chatting...my husband said the manager were leaving...managers commented well I wasnt going to charge for the steaks anyway. With a manager who doesnt appreciate eating out is about the experience of eating together as well as good food and that our evening was ruined what hope is there? My husband ate McDonalds in the beer garden. A window has been broken for over a year with visible rot a sign of the care given to the whole place.
Always love going to Swan & Bottle, Uxbridge as the food is always great with good sized portions. Parking: Dont forget to register your car details to avail of free parking
Great food, lovely pub on outskirts of Uxbridge,
Seabass was great but it was served almost cold and had to be returned to be re-heated. We couldn t determine whether it was the kitchen s fault or not enough staff to service the tables properly. The waitress dealt with it professionally.
Always enjoyable, excellent food, staff attentive and friendly.
Our experience in this pub was god awful. We ordered several meals and drinks. Everything we ordered was terrible. The beers tasted off. The wine was warm. The chicken and bacon was overcooked and dry. The squid was rubbery/chewy. The staff also came across as rude and passive aggressive, we felt so uncomfortable. Just a bad experience all around, which is disappointing as its local. Definitely would not be coming back again.
Good food. Fast service. Nice atmosphere. Will be back for sure.
Great pub, pies are fab!
Lovely staff and very good food in a traditional pub atmosphere Wheelchair accessibility: Very adequate Food : 4/5 |
Prompt service friendly staff a little quite but it was a Monday to be fair.
I have eaten here in the past albeit over 12 months ago and the food and service was excellent. Tonights meal however was a totally different experience. We had a table for 8 booked and arrived in time and were taken to our table. We ordered some drinks and these arrived in around 10 minutes. After around 15 minutes of looking the menu over we ordered our starters and mains. This is where things started to go wrong. We waited over 45 minutes for our starters to arrive. One of the dishes had items missing, one arrived late and they were not as warm as expected. We finished the starters never the less and waited for the mains. Which arrived about 25 minutes after the starters were cleared away. The two Barbers Chicken were delivered well cooked but were lukewarm and still had unmelted grated cheese on them. The merlot and beef dripping gravey delivered with a steak had not been reduced enough as it was like having a glass of wine according to the person who ordered it. The steak was lukewarm also. The pastry of the steak and ale pie was very hard. All in all it took us just over 2 1/2 hours to get through two courses of food which was served to us lukewarm. This was pointed out to the staff and our bill reduced, but this was still a disappointing experience considering how good our previous visit had been.
I went here today for a late lunch with my wife, we went over to the dining area and waited to be seated, a staff member walked past us, totally ignoring us, i just assumed he was leaving for the day so when he returned 5 minutes later ignoring us once again I was annoyed to say the least. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I waited another 5 minutes right by the sign that states please wait here to be seated the bar woman was too busy serving drinks and a waitress saw us and totally ignored us. I was so disgusted I simply left, another customer at the bar witnessed all this and looked to me in acknowledgement of my decision to leave, he also commented on the poor service. Absolute disgrace.
Went a couple weeks ago on a Friday evening and had a lovely meal Went back yesterday early evening and had an awful meal Ordered filet steak at just under £29.00 was cooked horrendous, they sliced it ? Never had filet cooked like that so overcooked Kids meal ordered sausage mash and beans and got 3 large very Bernie sausages mash was awful broccoli carrots and cucumber sticks, my little 5 year old tried sausage but hated it waste of £8.00 My meal pork very average and cod and chips very average No seasoning no taste and very boring Spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and she gave us free pudding and hit drink which I had wasn t much better Shame as I raved about our 1st meal but 100% won t be going back or recommend it
Tom showed outstanding service! We were in a party of 8 and not the quietest and he was amazing! Thanks Tom!
Stopped for a quick lunch and used the RV charger in the car park. Had a delicious cheese toastie, served by a delightful young lady. Sat by a window with a view of the river. Genuinely a nice experience. Food
Sunday roast is a thing of mine. I love it. My family and I have been coming here for years on and off and on a Sunday I always have the same thing - roast beef with extra gravy and never have any complaints.... They have a new chef. My family and I visited a few weeks ago and the plate of food served to me was so bad the waitress took it away without being asked, commenting You cant eat this. She came back with a new meal which was actually very nice, but not a patch on the food Id previously had. Today, I ordered (predictably) the roast beef and received a plate of tepid, over cooked veg, a meagre amount of meat and watery, tasteless gravy. The roast potatoes were few and ridiculously small - as was the portion. There was no presentation at all. The food looked as though it had been thrown onto the plate. All rather disappointing and unappetising. The chef is not a chef. Lets be honest. My nan made better roasts and she wouldnt have called herself a chef. Whoever is in the kitchen would be better heating ready meals or making pot noodles. Its the kind of food youd expect if you lived in student accommodation and a drunk housemate decided to entertain. Now, there are 2 ways of looking at this: Firstly, the I Didnt Cook it Myself, So its a Luxury and secondly, the Im Paying For it ,So I Want Value For Money. I wish Id cooked it myself. I wish Id saved my money. Interestingly, The Red Lion, in Iver (just down the road) is also owned by Chef and Brewer. The food there is far better and I would recommend anyone wanting a decent roast to go there rather than the Swan and Bottle. That being said, the staff are lovely. Its a shame you have to air your grievances to them - they do an amazing job and are lovely people. They dont deserve the backlash and incompetent cook ensues. Sack the wannabe chef and get this place back on track or youll lose customers. Me? Im going to the Red Lion.
This was definitely one of the friendliest canal side pubs Ive been to. A Chef & Brewer, so the food was good to.
I have been here several times for food. The food is fantastic, the staff are always warm and friendly and the atmosphere is good. It is always a pleasurable experience.
Came here for breakfast and most options not available for e.g. no granola and no porridge. So we ordered 2 full English breakfast. The bacon was streaky , cheaper version - advertised as back bacon - and the mushrooms were burnt. All in all one of the worst breakfasts Ive had. The manager did offer to compensate for bad food which is lovely but not the point. Parking: Good parking location
Great food and they take the Gourmet discount card! Enjoyed the Salt and Pepper Squid Also 15% off at all Chef & Brewer pubs with AA membership! Food : 4/5
Food was pretty good. Car park exit was a big hazardous as its blind in both directions. The young lady serving us was great
Parking: You must enter your car registration number in the console at the bar or you could get a fine. You can only stay a few hours in the pub carpark so no overnight parking Food
Steak and ale pie was exceptional and service was excellent.
Great place to hangout after work.
It was a very busy day. Food was lluke warm and others dishes had half cooked meat. This was acknowledged and we were not charged for lunch. Thank you!
Went for dinner last night and ordered a vegan garden plate . First they had no mushrooms or sweet potatoes, so they added a vegan burger (which was like carpet ). The guy serving us was lovely , and the pub is nice , but the food was awful ..and £16.99 for a badly cooked plate of veg. Come on guys up your game ,there are loads of lovely vegan recipes out there ..just lazy choices that are horrible. Vegans, book elsewhere untill they change menu ,or at least buy enough veg for their overpriced menu choice
Good food
Had lunch at the Swan & Bottle the chicken and Bacon sandwich was very nice. The service is good. Will be back Parking: You must put your car reg in machine at the bar, or you will get a ticket
Very friendly staff, food was delicious
Food was good.. Good ambience.. Portion size could be better Food : 5/5
I m sitting here amazed that an americano coffee and the tiniest dessert I have ever seen in my life came to £7! Beware the mini pud and hot drink deal!!! (It ain t no deal). Staff lovely.
Great food and service and great ambiance
Terrible food. Didn t have half the Mother s Day menu. Unbelievably poor management.
My husband organised a lunch for Mothers day. We had 4 children with us.. to say the service was exceptional is an understatement. My daughter gets really HANGRY.. to the point where she was having a full on melt down.. shes 6.. all the waitresses could see the sheer pain in my eyes and were trying really hard to get the food out. They were apologetic but I was mortified as we must of disturbed other patrols but they were so kind and supportive and thats what a mum needs. Food was awesome and overall minus the meltdown it was brilliant. Really cant fault. Thank you so much for a lovely mothers day
Update 10/03/2024 We visited yesterday for Mother s Day. We arrived on time for our booking but our table wasn t ready - this was clear from one of the waiting staff telling another young woman (the one with tattoos all over both forearms) that the table should have been ready for guests when they arrive. The lady apologised to us for this happening so we had to wait with a pram and two young children whilst the table was set. The lady with the tattoos cleaned and set up the table whilst we were waiting but she seemed to lack basic customer service or professionalism. Whilst putting the napkins out she literally threw one of them in my mums direction because she couldn t reach - it would have been better to simply hand it to me instead of fling it in my mum s direction. Food was delicious and although it was very busy I would say they coped well with timings. All other members of staff were so friendly and helpful except for this young lady with the tattoos on her arms (I wish I got her name but I didn t). This young lady also processed payment and even though my husband said thank you she simply walked off without saying anything. This member of staff brought down the level of service whilst the others were great and working so hard to keep up with how busy it was. It is unfortunate that one person can create a bad impression when the others were lovely and food was great. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the food and the service of other members of staff but I wanted to mention the lack of professionalism and service from this one member of staff as I would think this isn t the standard Swan and Bottle normally provides - which can be seen through all other members of staff and the service they provide. 24/12/2023 We went for a Christmas Eve lunch here and the food was very tasty. The only thing I would say made me give one less star on the service is that we pre-ordered and selected the option for a child s Christmas meal - when we got to receiving the food, we were told their systems weren t working and the pre-orders were messed up. This meant that they didn t even have a meal ready for our daughter (almost 2 years old) so we had to order something off their regular menu and pay extra for this. Also, when we were ordering drinks from their festive menu - the waitress told us that most of the syrups weren t available so we had to order something different. Apart from these points, everything else was lovely. Food, service from staff and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely visit again.
Impromptu stop here to charge my electric vehicle. Had the lunch menu and some drinks. Kids chicken strips portions were a great size and so was the chocolate brownie. The burger was gourmet and steak on sandwich cooked as ordered. Many thanks. Parking: Need to register vehicle upon entrance to avoid parkinv charges. Kid-friendliness: Was child friendly and menu was great.
Food was poor, mixed grill steak ordered rare arrived medium to well plus steak knife struggled to cut it. The Gammon was white and tough. Chicken well think is was chicken. Steak and ale pie was awful, rock hard pastry, dry and over cooked inside. Could continue but there where 9 of us so just reviewing 2 meals.
Food was amazing and waitress V was amazing to
One of the best dog friendly places I ve been to. Great staff.
Great pub and good food
Warm welcome when arrived given options on where I want to sit great food for the price well feeling nice and clean
Every member of staff were super friendly food great
My wife and I were looked after by Tom during our lunch. He was attentive at all times and professional with an eye for detail. When we asked for ice he confirmed the number of cubes we preferred in our glass. Well mannered and a gentleman who knows the true meaning of hospitality.
The Sunday roast was canteen standard and served a bit cold.
Really nice bar - restaurant, good food and drink sensibly priced. Really nice bar staff, restaurant staff could be more attentive.
Over priced. Menu needs updating
Good food, great selection
Very quite for a Saturday night atmosphere was very bleak and for a empty pub service was slow Parking: You have to make sure that you register your number plate or you will receive parking ticket
Nice place great staff always helpful
They are really nice people and the food is great.
Very good value, Charlly good waitress
Not a bad looking pub inside on the Grand Union Canal. Good for a stopover on a walk along the canal. Dog friendly.
Nice meal,reasonable price
Came here for a Sunday roast and the waitress we had was really lovely and interacted well with our 2 year old. We ordered the kids pizza and chips but it was served in a pastry case not on pizza dough. Our little one didn t eat it so this let down our experience a little. The roast was nice but was a little cold. Great service though
Good atmosphere Not great food Food and drinks are one of the more expensive in uxbridge too Food : 3/5
It was extremely busy and they had just 2 people waiting on tables. So, I wouldnt blame them for appearing annoyed and rushing us on to order. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. The food was okay. We might go again on a less busy day to see how its actually like
Absolutely brilliant
Nice place for Pint and food
Polite, efficient staff. Good food, great price.
Sunday Roast was beautiful, service was great, going back tomorrow for a steak and the people moaning about not having a lot of gravy just ask for more Parking: Plenty of parking spaces
Popped in for a quick drink to meet my sister while she was in uxbridge. Brought my dog with me. Great staff, quick service and very dog friendly. They do Chapel Down wine which is our favourite, which was a bonus. Didnt try food so cannot comment.
The pub has a convenient location near a busy road. There is parking and tables outside overlooking river Colne. We went for dinner on Sunday evening and sat inside as it was quite noisy outside. It was busy but we managed to find a table. Service was a bit slow - we about 30 minutes for our food. Unfortunately, they didnt have a few items on the food menu and didnt have the beer we wanted. The food could have been better - the signature burger was dry and I I didnt like the sause. My partners ordered fish and chips, the chips were okay, but the fish needed more flavour. The service was friendly but needs improvement. I was still eating when the waitress approached to take my plate. The hygiene in the toilets also needs improvement - there were tissues all over the floor. Overall, the atmosphere is nice and cosy, and if the food quality, hygiene, and service improve, it would be a great place.
Had a great evening
Cosy pub, food portions good, pay for parking before you go in but taken off your bill. 2 and 3 course meals reasonable. Staff courteous and offered excellent customer service and was very helpful. Took constructive feedback on our roast dinner. Dessert was gorgeous especially donating to Macmillan having the apple pie and given extra custard was just right - thanks.
We were a large party celebrating a 99th birthday. Vicky was really lovely and helpful. The food was great, tasty with generous portions, everyone had a great time.
One of the waitress, didn t smile the whole night. Poor service. Refused to honour dessert order, because we paid for a bill already. Very disappointed.
An early Saturday dinner, staff were very tentative. Not entirely sure though how you can justify charging £1.99 for a small pot of peppercorn sauce to accompany the steak. Whats next, charging separately for salt and pepper too?
Nice pub good food options quick service, would defiantly go again
Dinner with a friend. Newly decorated - looks beautiful. Dinner was good, new chef. Salad and cheesecake much smaller than previously, but tasted great.
Just came back from my first trip to the swan and Bottle. Had a great evening with some friends. The food was fantastic, with good-sized portions and reasonably priced. The service was very good. We were served by a dark-haired girl with a nose ring, and she was very attentive and very polite. Couldnt get a real feel of the atmosphere as it was quite quiet, but it gave us all chance to have a good chat. I will definitely be returning.
Very nice - good food and prompt service
Friendly staff and good selection of beers
I enjoyed the massage was really good Parking: Was a little difficult to find, but plenty of parking. Dont forget to enter your registration number at reception Service : 5/5 Parking space
We had a team dinner here, the food was good and the customer service was good.. the pub ambiance was good..
Super average place, reheated microwave type food but you get what you see not bad
Family evening out. We were warmly greeted and the service during the meal was faultless. Well done Robyn, Tom and Steph. Food was delicious. Parking: Along side the canal, ample parking Kid-friendliness: We had a two year old with us, staff were great.
Steak was too red and tough puddings were awful Eton mess with pancake really. I had smothered chicken and bacon wasnt great it congealed and was luke warm. I took my mum and sister here while I was visiting from North Devon we wont go again
The food and service was fair Parking: Plenty of spaces Food : 4/5 |
Not happy as went for a drink and got a parking ticket. Didnt realise you have to register your car reg .. MOST places I have eaten tell you too. So no word of warning .. remember to do this. Im not paying as I spent money in there. Awaiting appeal. Puts me off going back Cheers for that. UPDATE. SENT EMAIL BUT 4 DAYS LATER NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OR THAT MY TICKET WILL BE CANCELLED. WILL NOT BE BACK UNTIL RESOLVED.
Friendly staff, good service
Stopped off here whilst on a hike last month. The rib of beef was fantastic, and the location is very nice for a pub lunch whilst on a hike along the canals.
Lovely pub on the grand union canal, great selection of beers
A really nice and friendly pub right by the canal and on the London Loop path. It proved a fantastic haven after a day of walking. The food was excellent - simple and very well-cooked meals. I had a dish of mixed fish, which was exactly what I was hoping for in terms of good comfortable food, and when I casually asked if they had any spinach side dishes, they provided a bowl of it even though it wasnt on the menu! Also, the interior decor stood out, with lots of objects and exhibits to see - beautiful ornaments, glassware and display cases creating a very nice atmosphere. This is definitely a pub I want to come back to
Great food and service and great value
Very nice service, clean, food looked amazing will have to try it next time
Kids pizza was a Chicago town pizza for £12. The service tends to be quite slow, little presentation to the drinks, one ice cube and no fruit in the gin. No lemon/lime or salt with the tequila. The best bit of service came from the manager which is why I have rated it 4*, if not it would have been 2* at a push. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment but the food was not an option
One of our fav pub. Great service and brilliant food.
Kid-friendliness: Nah Food
Lovely location, friendly helpful staff (Tom) Thank you. Parking: Good parking register in the pub.
Had steak&ale pie, it really could have served two , good value for money, I do come here quite often I would recommend nice place by the river colne and the grand Union canal Wheelchair accessibility: There a door by the back car park
Jess and Kiah were super lovely and chatty! Food was yummy and Service was great!
Great place to unwind and enjoy a round of drinks and some good food
Cant fault the place or staff. Super lovely, delicious food and exceptional service throughout. Would recommend and come back again
The food was great and the restaurant atmosphere was lovely. Robyn served us and was very attentive, friendly and polite
I have been eating out at this pub for the past 30 years and apart from it going down a few years ago Ive always had a good experience .& now it s back to its best .. BUT two weeks ago I arrange to meet a friend for lunch on a sat .. I pulled into car park fully intending to log in with car reg inside when my friend arrived .,unfortunately when they did arrive it was tell me they had a call that their father was unwell and had to cancel our lunch .. so I left only being there 15mins .. I now have a parking fine for £100 £60 if paid early !!!! I don t think I will be booking here again if 15mins in car park gets me a fine .. I now live in Banbury and had driven up for lunch & often use swan & bottle for lunch with friends who still live in the area !!!! I think I will choose elsewhere nxt time .. sue
A nostalgic return to a place I first visited 40 years ago ! Good service, elcome and menu. No schooners of sherry as in the past but a pleasant repast none the less.
Lovely pub - dont forget to get your parking validated!!! Great service, large portions, friendly staff. Food
Food delicious as always and our waitress Jo is just amazing!
Great food, good service and lovely location.
Just wanted to share a wonderful experience we had at the swan and bottle in Uxbridge, we had the privilege of being looked after by a wonderful lady called Jo, her attention to detail was second to none, she is a credit the there team
First class SERVICE FOOD LOCATION. need I say more.
Good food. Excellent service thanks Adam.
I want for a Sunday Roast with my boyfriend and it s mum on an afternoon. The pub atmosphere its so comfy and warm. I loved it. The food amazing, and staff very attentive. Thank you for the great time and amazing meal
Food was OK service was ok
We dropped in today to use the car charger, then decided to stay for a meal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and got us seated straight away. The food arrived quickly and was excellent (Sunday lunch - busy but efficient!). It really made a long day of travelling much easier to bear. Many thanks to the staff for a lovely experience. Parking: Register your car reg no at the bar
Family group of seven. Good meal, excellent service.
Lovely quiet rainy Friday lunchtime. Walked in with four very wet dogs and couldnt have been made more welcome. Had a light , very tasty lunch, which was very affordable. Dogs had treat biscuits and water at the dog bar . What more could all six of us want ? Def going back on our canal walks. Highly recommend
Our Rambling group stopped by after our walk, for a coffee. Nice place, friendly staff. Great background music. Will stop for a meal next time.
Good food and beer
Long wait to take drinks order then long wait for our drinks. Had to ask to oder food and it took quite a while unfortunately.
Great service and food as always
Lovely pub with amazing food and really friendly and accommodating staff! (The mixed grill had some of the best meat Ive had, especially the Cumberland sausages)
Overcooked, tough meat, dry roast potatoes and sauces all watered down. Told Waitress, not interested.
enjoyable
Thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday dinner, despite my first choice running out. Parking: Registration number requires inputting into console. Food : 5/5 |
Good selection of food. Fair prices. Parking: Make sure you enter your number plate at the bar. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.
I have been visiting this pub since 79, its changed a bit, with the times, but a favourite canal side spot.. The Swan and Bottle has been a popular Uxbridge pub for many years and remains so, it has a rich history, dating from the 17th century when it used to be two pubs, the Olde Swan and the Leather Bottle, its a large pub with low ceilings, open beams and plenty of wood panelling. It can be found on the Oxford road, between the Grand Union Canal and the River Colne near the historic Grade II listed Uxbridge Lock, and is a super nice spot in summer for snacks and food, as well as for evening meals anytime, and roast dinners at the weekend, when in winter the dining room is heated by a real log fire! - There is parking, which can fill up on a busy day! The public has several sections but only one bar, and these days its part of the Chef and Brewer chain (menu and beer-wise). It seems to be less crowded now, with Xerox no longer being across the road, however, what was the Xerox building has now become modern flats and so this could change! The food was good when we visited, but alas my guest reported the ladies were an area that could be improved in terms of cleanliness. Nice, good service this evening... And again today, late Nov 2023
Great place to meet and eat
Good value for money

Parking: Make sure to register ur Car number plate at the front of the bar to avoid unnecessary penalties. Food
