46 Windsor St, Uxbridge UB8 1AB, United Kingdom
Classic British & European comfort fare & drinks are served in a cozy, white tablecloth dining room.
Got lucky with parking right outside on Sat night. Wholesome food, generous portions to satisfy. Friendly service with 80s music to my liking. A bit noisy when full, wall seats could be a bit more comfortable, enjoyable positive experience overall.
Haven’t been for 5 years as I now live on the Isle of Wight. We met up with friends having a lovely atmosphere. As always the food was incredible, the owner and chef Martin is so friendly, spends time to make you feel like a guest in he’s own home. There was eight of us and we all agreed it’s the best restaurant that we all been to.
Another great night at martins place. The food was si good i forgot to take a picture!
whilst not the largest nor cheapest places to eat, this is by far the best food available i have found in Uxbridge. The athmospere is always relaxing and pleasent, the staff very attentive and friendly and the food plentiful and delicious. If your seeking that special treat i would heartily recomment this as the place to try
We had the best blue steak this side of La Manche. There aren't many tables so the service is personal. Chef comes to talk to the clientelle, a very nice touch. The prices are very affordable, and the quality is high. I hope we can go again soon. Such good value and high quality.
One of the best foods I’ve ever tried in Uxbridge, London. Martin and his partner are super friendly. I’ve tried steak with their recommended desert. I put the pic of both.
We booked for 6pm and were the second table to arrive. We waited a while to have our order taken and made it clear we only wanted mains. We then sat and waited for over an hour for our food, while every other table was served starters, then their mains while we were still sat waiting. We asked the server how long our food would be about 30 mins in and she apologised and said it would be out in five minutes. We then waited another 30 mins before our food finally arrived. Waiting an hour for two steaks is pretty rubbish. What was worse was that the steak was the smallest i’ve ever seen in my life, this filet must have been less than two inches in diameter. A real shame as it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. What was less amazing was the clearly microwaved frozen from a bag veg served with it. Overall we were left quite disappointed, I really wanted to like the bistro as it’s a small local business, but after this experience I can say we won’t be returning.
Loved the ambience of this very cosy restaurant. The Owner was interactive with the customers as well as Charlotte. Very helpful. The 3 course ordered was absolutely lovely and very filling. I would really recommend this place and book in advance as only a few tables. Thank you so much both of you for your excellent customer service. It was on point 🙏🏾👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯
Lovely meal as always
Just been tonight (Tuesday) for my birthday with my elderly parents. Service quality high, Food quality high, Restaurant small and personal..Love it
Best food Ive eaten in years in a restaurant. Dufftown stake was phenomenal. Martin is great craic, very good starters and the house wine was simple and delicious. 100% recommended
What a lovely little restaurant this is! The staff was great, the food delicious, the music fab and the vibe is intimate and lively. 100% recommend.
I real little gem, always feels very special having dinner here
Great food at an excellent price.
Fabulous little place in the heart of Uxbridge! If you want good food, good drink, and are just looking to take your time and relax, then i would 100% recommend. Martin has been working here for so long, and is the heart and soul of the restaurant. Highly recommended for date night, girls night, friends night and the rest!
Brilliant place - Great service and food- Nothing more to say Cant wait to visit again ! Food
A cosy family run place, fantastic atmosphere, there isnt much space there so Im actually reluctant to review because it might mean I cant get a walk in table like last night but Martin definitely knows his way around a steak
Never judge a book by its cover Is the saying Excellent night out fantastic food and drinks The best meal I have had out ever Food : 5/5 |
Very good value for money, Good food at a decent price.
Top place in Uxbridge, can t be beaten for fillet steak or selection of sauces if required. Top owner
Lovely evening celebrating my birthday with friends. Very good food, cosy atmosphere, no frills just perfect. Food
Lovely little restaurant. Just the size of your living room so book to make sure you have a table. Food is amazing. We went 2 days before Christmas and delightfully no turkey in sight. The service was great and the Chef, Martin comes and chats to you making you feel like a special guest. I really would recommend this place. Fabulous
Hidden gem, lovely little restaurant. The food was delicious. I love fillet steak, but its usually quiet expensive to have out, here, £19! Its was cooked beautiful. You could have garlic bread for £2.50! When did you last see it priced at that on a menu. The whole menu was very reasonably priced. 3 of us ate 2 courses, all had steak, plus bottle of wine. It was £30 each plus tip. Its an authentic family restaurant, very small, so book. Currently only open in the evenings. Cant wait to visit again and try another dish.
First time tonight it wont be the last. Quality Food
Lovely little Bistro. Food was very good and thought the price was very responable. There was 6 in our group and we all had mains and dessert and a drink worked out £25 per head and 3 of us had fillet steak which was beautifully cooked.
What a fantastic little hidden gem in uxbridge if you get chance highly recommend here book in to make sure theres space coz its so cosy apart from that I guarantee youll give it 5 stars too !
Superb food. Excellent service. Small, quiet restaurant.
Initially enjoyable, our visit ended surreally. Firstly, Martins Place is a bit of an Uxbridge institution. Its one of a handful of independent restaurants in town, and its one thats been going for many years. Its an idiosyncratic spot with a small dining room only big enough to get around 15 people in, and loos you access through the kitchen. The menu hasnt changed much since its opening and so is an eccentric and potentially charming spot. My friend had booked, and when we arrived we were told to pick a table. We joined 2 other tables who were clearly regulars or friends of the owner, Martin, and so it was a jolly atmosphere. We picked some retro favourites, like Chicken Cordon Bleu, and settled in. Food took a long time to arrive and by the time it did the other 2 tables had gone and so we were the only ones left. We were a bit self conscious, but it wasnt so bad with the music playing. The food, while freshly prepared, was pretty basic for the cost. We were left for quite long periods and had no water for quite a long time. But again, we were enjoying each others company and the atmosphere was good. That is until the music stopped. The music that had been playing stopped, and we could hear the staff had started to watch loud game shows in the kitchen. It was as if they had forgotten we were there. Feeling like we were intruding, we had to poke our heads into the kitchen to get water and ask for the bill. All in all it was a really strange way to end the evening and, while objectively funny, it soured the mood somewhat.
After being here a few times before and it quite possibly being my favourite restaurant, I was really disappointed in my latest experience. I called up and booked a table to be told it would be ready earlier than the booking if I wanted to arrive earlier to which I said that would be great and we would quite possibly arrive earlier. We did that but the waitress was rude and tried to turn us away as there had been some confusion with the bookings and that we had to come back there were two tables empty and we were 25 mins earlier than the booked time. Martin wasn t exactly helpful either after telling us our table would be ready early. We walked out and didn t go back and to be honest won t go back again.
Personal touch with great food and such good value for money
Small and nice staff are friendly
Was pretty nice, wasnt blown away, but a nice place, and the food was pretty nice
Beautiful little place, food was outstanding and worth every penny! The service was A* from Charlotte. Will definitely be back.
Best restaurant in Uxbridge
1st time eating here tonight. The service and food was faultless. Absolutely delicious. We had the steak and sea bass for mains and we didnt make a dent in the vegetables or potatoes. Marked down 1 star for the atmosphere due to the noise on the street which is out of their control. 1st of many visits :-) Would highly recommend.
Great night out with good food and fantastic service
If you like the intimacy of a trattoria, are in need of some nostalgia and some delicious home cooked food that doesnt feel like its out of a packet, this place is for you. Wow, this is what we need nowadays, the human touch, and this is what we seem to be missing more and more. This place seats around 20 and with its pretty lighting feels very welcoming. The owner, Martin, a real character, is up for chatting if you like (if time allows i guess) the waitress was very genuine and lovely. The food was delicious and good portions at a good price. A real treasure in Uxbridge. My only gripe is that sadly i dont live here cos this would be my local!
Great truly local restaurant. Best Fillet steak Ive had for ages! Food
Young(ish) talented German chef preparing simple but well prepatred dishes. Well done Sir!
Simply fantastic food, wonderful service in a cosy atmosphere. Martin is a star.
Went to Martins Place with friends, staff always friendly, food was really nice, will be back again
Best food in Uxbridge. Martin is a great host. Must book.
Excellent food, great people
We are so pleased we found this little restaurant tucked away from Uxbridge high street. We went for valentines & we had such a superb dinner. We started off with the onion soup which was absolutely delicious which came with crisp bread rolls and butter. We also got the deep fried Camembert which was - definitely recommend. Our main courses were the rack of lamb and the beef stroganoff which both were absolutely delicious- we left full & content. Both courses came with a side bowl of veggies & chips to share. Book before you go as it s a very small restaurant which holds up to 18 people - it s very cosy. There is only one chef so you may have a wait for your food, but definitely worth it :) Highly recommend trying this place!
Great, cozy environment. Martin came to our table and made sure that everything was to our liking, and very friendly. Some of the regulars told us about his daily runs to get the fresh produce and product he uses. Excellent prices for such a independent restaurant.
Outstanding as usual. We really cannot fault, its always a very high standard across all aspects x
Excellent as always, lovely food.
Intimate venue with a great atmosphere. Food is delicious and good value.
The food was perfect as always.
Food is fantastic with menu to suit all tastes. This is a very small venue and is popular, so book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Lovely working lunch with my colleagues. Small snd cozy restaurant with excellent service. Thank u
Been coming to Martins for years that i think says it all !!excellent Vegetarian options: There are a couple of dishes.
Wonderful food great staff
We celebrated my mums 70 th and had the whole restaurant to ourselves, 21 of us ! What a fantastic evening, amazing food, Martin let us decorate the restaurant, play music and dance ! Nothing was to much trouble. Amazing food and thank you to Martin and the waitress for making it a great night to remember .
Acceptable food, but takes too long time to be served, also some odours from waiters coats are too noticeable for comfortable eating experience. Nice space.
Great food service
Shall and interment.
I m not exactly an expert on steak, but I had the best steak ever at this place. Have since been to Miller & Carter and that place has nothing on this. Good portion of sides. Nice atmosphere. You get a personal service. Small and cosy.
Totally beautiful Cant fault the place. Food
I had a blue cheeseburger this evening, it was absolutely delicious. I m definitely going back! I would recommend Martin s Place in a heartbeat, easily the best burger in town!!!
Perfect. As you would hope from Martin.
1st class establishment. The chef Martin deserves a Michelin star even though hes german Outstanding food.Really small unique and a very romantic place,so dont take the wife guys take the girlfriend.I cant wait to go back. The duck is the best in my opinion followed by the sea bass and the sauce to go with them are from heaven.Better then any high class restaurant Ive visited in Central London.5 stars from me.
Very good
Lovely evening, great atmosphere, very friendly. Have been before and will be going again. Highly recommended!!
Love this place , the food excellent the chef and staff very welcoming always. Cant wait until the next time x
Great food.
Beautiful food and friendly staff and chef Martin amazing guy .. always enjoy .
Great food and cosy atmosphere
Love this place, its a real gem!
Small restaurant with about 18 covers maximum, and the food is excellent. The fillet steaks are cooked to perfection, and the steak sauces are lovely, especially the Martinesque. All meals come with a large bowl of freshly cooked mixed veg to share, plus a mix of lovely crisp and dry chips and some new potatoes. The Rack of Lamb, and the Duck were also highly commended by our party. Great value, good portions, and excellent quality food.
Attended a family meal here and was excited to try the woodland mushroom and pea risotto however I was very disappointed when the dish came out. The dish had no mushrooms and no truffle oil despite the menu stating this. Also, it was not a risotto consistency it was more just a standard rice dish with various bits of veg in it. We had to request mushrooms, which by the time these were cooked my meal was going cold. Adding them after meant the mushroom flavours were missed. All other people in my party enjoyed their meals so perhaps the veggie/vegan option is not given the same attention. Another thing to note is that the sides we received were only veg and chips which was a shame we werent offered new potatoes as an option as offered on the menu. Hopefully this was just a one off negative experience.
Good food, but very compact.
Absolutely amazing food amazing service very comfy place. Thank you so much
Just had a fantastic meal at Martins this is our second visit and it never dissapoints the food is very high quality. I ordered two steaks and two cordon bleu chicken dishes and all four were cooked to perfection and came with a generous helping of mixed salad, mixed vegetables and a huge dish of chips, thank you for a special meal we will be back again
We dined at Martins place for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the sides are included so we had a good variety of vegetables and potatoes. I had sea bass and my friend had the tenderloin steak. We also had desserts, the pecan roulade and the lemon mousse. All delicious! Service was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend!
Martin and crew are just marvelous, a fab menu well cooked, in a cozy environment, with great music, not one song we didnt know, he just has great taste all round, Thank you for a wonderful evening.
The takeaway lockdown burgers are really good!
Delicious food! Wonderful host
Fantastic
Amazing value for money, thebest resturant. Amazing and delicious steaks, a lovely atmosphere. So reasonably priced. Plus over lockdown Martin has been doing amazing burgers, great value for money as always. Our favourite resturant!
A basic, old school menu, but beautifully cooked and all served with veg and chunky chips. Nice starters and deserts, washed down with reasonably priced wines and beers. Yes, its very small and like eating at your aunties house, but the food and portions are good and Martin actually cares whether youve enjoyed your meal, so we are never disappointed. :-)
Amazing little place, friendly atmosphere and fabulous steak. Dufftown fillet steak and Lemon mousse, you have to try it!
Loved it, great food, a jewel in the concrete jungle.
Had a family meal at Martins Place, all courses were excellent. The steak in particular was very good, best I have had for a while and very reasonable prices. The service was spot on and I will be returning when Im in the area again.

Had an anniversary meal at this cosy restaurant. The service was first class & the food was excellent the pancakes with ice cream & liquor where out of this world. We would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for first class evening out.
Just exceptional as it always is. The steaks are always top draw. Make sure you book because its a tiny place but always full. A real gem.
I have been visiting Martins Place since he opened many years ago and have always been happy. The menu doesnt change very often but he does offer specials. Prices are competitive and always good value. Quite a few steaks, plus lamb, calves liver, fish & prawns, so quite varied but not extensive. I have recommended & introduced many customers to this special restaurant and it is essential to book ahead now! The restaurant is small and intimate, often there will be a conversation going on with lots of guests joining in.
Great little place in Uxbridge with amazing steaks and good prices.

Good food, fair price, fast and polite service, what the foods presentation lacks it absolutely makes in for in atmosphere and quirkiness. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good cooked meal in a conversation starting surrounding in Uxbridge. I will be eating here again!
Superb steak at a great price, friendly service
Excellent!
Best food in Uxbridge.
Really nice and highly recommended. Small restaurant in historic Windsor St. Short menu of starters, mains & puddings. Short wine list too. Traditional classic dishes of fish, meat etc. with veggie options. All freshly prepared and delivered with very personal service from a lovely couple whose business this is.
Its not on the menu, but I recommend the Milanese.
This is a great little restaurant, staff makes you feel welcome and the chef cooks one the best steaks you will ever have also liquer coffees are to die for.
