I recently visited this place with a couple of my friends and I am happy to say that we were all very impressed. The ambiance at the restaurant was fantastic. The decor created a cozy and elegant atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. Additionally, the waitress named Hanine was truly exceptional. She attended to us with kindness and professionalism, making sure our experience was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place for its great ambiance and excellent service!

I had the pleasure of dining at onyx italian restaurant, and I cannot praise the staff enough for their excellent service, specially mena khan such a great worker and From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Came here for my sisters birthday and have to say it was a great experience. The food was lovely and came on time. Mena made our night, she kept checking up on us making sure our needs are fulfilled. She really made her birthday a special occasion.

I recently had an amazing dining experience at onyx italian restuarant. The atmosphere was delightful, and the food was absolutely delicious! I especially want to highlight our waiter, Mena, who was very well respected and attentive throughout our meal. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations made our visit even more enjoyable. By far the best restaurant I have ever been to, we went here today for my bestfriends birthday and I have never experienced such lovely and amazing service; not just one staff but their entire staff went above and beyond for us. They reflected on everything and did everything for us; I can t explain how good their service was. From food till atmosphere; everything was literally perfect. Shocking experience service was awful. Cooks wearing external coats whilst cooking our dinner. Tried to offer a set menu without notifying when Booking. Had cold bread which was complimentary then when we asked for more bread they charged for warm bread. Steak overcooked. Just awful experience. Then to make things worse 4 out of the 6 people that came for dinner have had food poisoning since yesterday those with pasta were fine. We have all been so ill tried to contact management no answer as expected. Will never go here again I urge you all to not go here. Could be a lovely place If the service was better and health standards met! I will be reporting these to environmental health!!!!

I recently visited this amazing restaurant, and I have to say, the experience was top-notch from start to finish! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was outstanding. Saed, who took care of the Shisha, was fantastic. He made sure everything was perfect, from setting up the Shisha to ensuring it was just the right flavor and smoke. You can tell he truly cares about the experience, and it made the evening so much more enjoyable. Mena and Muscan the waitresses were incredibly attentive and friendly. They took the time to explain the menu, suggested some great dishes, and made sure our glasses were always full. Their positive attitude really made us feel special and at ease. They provided excellent customer service. Ensuring everything was running smoothly All in all, this spot offers not just great food and drinks but exceptional service that makes you want to come back. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining and Shisha experience!

there was nine of us last night booked a table for 730 originally booking for eight asked them to change it for nine when we got there. There was only tables for eight it took them ages for them to lay another place in which they never put a glass a knife or fork or anything down for me when we finally ordered some drinks we ve been there 45 minutes we ordered some wine to which the waiter left the cork and the corkscrew on the table and never bothered finishing opening it. We ordered some rosé wine that came fine but when three of us ordered the mushrooms in a garlic wine they were stone cold. We pointed this out to the waitress but didn t want to make a fuss so yet it then our main come out that was okay. There was music on in the background. She was so lovely but you couldn t hear her sing from the constant thump from the loud face from outside I believe it was the conservatory everyone coming in and out of the door at the back it was freezing cold we all had to sit with our coats on the service I can honestly say I work in hospitality and never seen it this bad. There was a lovely Chinese waitress which we tipped her personally because she seem to go above and beyond to try and help us and saying sorry but nothing got resumed we will never come back to this place. We spent nearly £600 last night and we felt very disappointed. We were celebrating two birthdays and just felt we weren t treated very well at all. It s a shame because this place could be lovely plus when I went upstairs I could see the kitchen and don t even get me started on what I saw.

If you want to be sick for three days , getting food poison here is your best option. Not worth it as we paid £500 for our dinner, they should shut down the business

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the music and the atmosphere makes it a perfect place to celebrate something special. We ordered a pasta (ravioli and lasagna) and they were delicious. The waiter was very kind, but you can tell that they are not having enough waiters because she was the only one available for 10 tables. Hopefully they can hire more staff, but I will definitely go back!!

Where do I start... dirty sticky floors, dirty seats and just felt grubby. When the food did finally arrive it was cold as if it had been sitting there whilst the waitresses were chatting. The portions on the pasta are deceiving as the plates are designed to make it look like there is more food then there actually is on the plate. Flavours were OK but I have had much better from more local restaurants. All in all I wouldnt go back again. Over priced and expensive for what it is worth.

Good food but terrible terrible service. That too with only a few tables occupied the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. Do NOT go here if time is of the essence for you. They took 30mins just for the starters.

We ve organised a baby shower at onyx and that was best choice. The temperature inside the restaurant was freezing. For mid-October, it felt like we were dining outdoors.

Don t come here!! Very poor service cold food and cold restaurant with blocked toilets and no toilet paper!! A person in our group was given serviettes to use !! One salmon dish was still frozen in the middle and served to us and pizzas were burnt. Ordered drinks and waited 40 mins for them - we were only group in restaurant- avoid

Saw a bunch of mixed reviews, so thought we would try it out to get our own opinion of the place. Off the bat, the entrance is a bit confusing. I mentioned I had booked (and it was confirmed), there didn t seem to be any knowledge that we were coming. It was a really quiet weekday so we got seated ok luckily after a bit of awkwardness. Once we were seated, the restaurant was dead silent with no music & the staff told us that lots of the items on the menu weren t available which was a shame. Scallops and prawns have the same sauce so don t expect different flavours with those starters. It took ages for the drinks to come, for reference we had a table booked for 8:15 and we didn t leave until 10pm (!!!) due to the speed of service. The food wasn t very warm, flavours weren t there & the chicken skewers were dry. It was a bit pricey for the portion size too. Us leaving at 10pm wasn t due to sitting having a chat and drinks; it was waiting for our food and drinks to come. Really messy outside too where there s construction going on, with bits of wood just left out in the open (no hoarding up to conceal a construction site as you would usually expect. Just looked so messy and a bit unsafe?). The real awkwardness; they did put a TV on in the restaurant (which does feel weird in a fine dining place) on YouTube for music . With ads on. We were eating our meals while YouTube ads of clothes and football played in the background. It s a really weird vibe for an Italian restaurant and just all felt so disorganised with a huge menu which I don t think benefits them. From what we can assume was the manager then took our plates and asked about the food, which we said was just ok. He didn t ask any more questions and left out table. We asked for the service charge to be removed, and our waitress then came over and asked about the food to which again we said it was ok. She was really lovely and asked if she could do anything further but we declined and said thank you. The manager barely acknowledged us, and the waitress made far more effort and an empathetic approach. That s the only reason for the 2 stars instead of 1 - she was really lovely. It has so much potential as a venue and being a fine dining Italian restaurant but it s just a shambles at the moment unfortunately.

The food was good, but the TV was too loud. I asked for it to be turned down, and while the waiter did lower the volume a bit, a manager later turned it back up. I was quite disappointed, as I had hoped for a nice evening out. It felt like they were prioritising themselves over the customers and customer service could have been better.

This was the first time I have visited Onyx, and unfortunately it will be my last. On arrival, we got seated by the bar which was bright light on one side and dark atmosphere on the other. Waiters were in rush to take our order, after being rushed we waited 1 hr for our drinks to arrive which 30 min into it they said they didn t have half of the drinks on menu. (Btw they were not busy) Our started arrived after 1.5 hr we ordered the parmesan wings and they were dry as a stick, when speaking to the waiter and letting them know, she come back after speaking to the chef, returning the plate of wings and said you don t like dry wings? . Also apparently the chef said how they are always cooked. I ordered the linguine pasta which was £26! Advertised that it will be mixed in a cheese at the table, they then informed saying they won t be doing that. I payed £26 to include the table side entertainment, unfortunately I haven t revived that. My husband had the Calzone and said it was cooked nicely and flavoured well.

Not the best experience. Place looks lovely but the food wasnt. Ordered lemon chicken wings had to send them back and our mains took over 40 mins to which the description on the menu was different to what came out. There was no one else in the restaurant so not quite sure why it took so long. The staff were apologetic but were not trained to deal with these kind of situations

We visited to celebrate a 40th birthday with a group of 14. The decor was beautiful and it was great to find a halal Italian restaurant In Uxbridge. Our waitress Sue was incredibly attentive and made us feel very welcome. However the service for drinks was slow at times from the staff. We dined in a private room which allowed us to play our own music-a nice touch. The starters were delicious but the lamb fillet portion was very small and the chicken skewers lacked flavour apart from the garlic sauce which had a MIGHTY garlic punch definitely would keep the vampires away. Despite this we will definitely return to explore more of the menu.

My daughter & her friend recently went here for dinner & were there over 2hrs just for a main meal each & a dessert they shared. The service was extremely slow with only 1 visible waitress. The pasta was lukewarm when it arrived & nothing was done to rectify this when mentioned! There were not many people in the restaurant so no clear reason why the service was so slow. Such a shame as she had high hopes & plans to return with other friends. Great location, could have potential if improvements made.

Food was nice but service was not. No one was at the front of house to welcome us. There was no signs to show where to come into the restaurant, its slightly confusing. When we sat down we were given the food menu but no drinks menu. We had to ask for it. We ended up having our main meal first and drinks arrived at the end when it should be the other way. This is the first time I ve had my drink after the main meal. I think the staff need more training. The chairs at my table were dirty. Me and my friend had to swap them with another.

Visited Onyx for my 60th birthday with friends and had an enjoyable experience. The whole restaurant has beautiful decor and a lovely ambiance. We had a private room where we could play our own music and the staff kindly set up an area where I could cut my cake. Overall the food was great. The portions of the steak, burgers and lasagne were big. The mocktails were also very nice. As a party of 20, we preordered our meals and overall everything came on time. However there were times service was slightly slow but this was to be expected with such a big group. All the staff were lovely, especially our waitress Sue. She was fantastic and kept making sure we were okay and catered to everything we requested. She even kindly took photos for us. I have already recommended this restaurant to other people and I will definitely be returning soon.

This restaurant was so disappointing. The food was absolutely terrible and the service was even worse. No one seemed to know what they were doing. When we entered there was no hostess to greet and we waited a while to be seated even though it was not busy. We ordered our food and the food that did arrive the portions were small. One main dish that we ordered was prawn ravioli but we got served salmon ravioli to which we are allergic to. There is one disgraceful member of staff called mena she was the one that handed the wrong main to us. Her lack of customer service skills are not fit for this work place at all and she had the cheek to ask us how is the food when we didn t even have food on our table. And every time she was serving a dish all she would say is oh I don t know what meal this is and shout Sue what is this meal called or ask Sue what this is the only person that knows what they re doing is Sue. She was the only person that had good service. Everyone else need to get restaffed.

Do not waste your time or money at Onyx Uxbridge. I was genuinely disappointed with my experience here, it was just bad start to finish. As we arrived there was no one to greet us, we went further inside to grab someone s attention to inform we made a reservation. After being seated, we made our order and the food arrived after 35mins. Whilst they were serving the food the waitress kept asking her colleagues what the dishes were, she was so clueless. I then received the wrong meal (prawn meal) and the other waitress tried to convince me it was correct. I had to cut up the meal to physically show her my order was wrong (it was indeed salmon) and then she went back to the kitchen and advised that what I had originally ordered was finished? It took them almost 40mins to figure that out and they would have not even told me if I didn t notify them? My friend ordered pasta but it was stone cold, the service and food were absolutely appalling. They tried to offer a substitute I opted for a pizza but it tasted disgusting. My mood for the evening was completely ruined, we ended up just paying for our drinks and left the restaurant very upset and hungry. You could tell as we were leaving the staff were gossiping and chatting about us to each other, low-key laughing & joking. I fail to see how ruining a paying customer s evening is funny. Onyx Uxbridge, you need better professional staff who actually know what they re doing, most of them were so clueless and dumb that evening. This is what you call a catfish restaurant, pretty and aesthetic but poor service & food.

I booked a table in this restaurant after i saw their instagram profile. I read the reviews and i became unsure about the place but i thought i should give it a chance as were lots of good reviews aswell. I went there for my birthday with other 5 people. All of us enjoyed the place which looks very nice and trendy. We were lucky to sit in the private area near to the open kitchen to have a look at the chefs while they were making ready our food. The food came in time, was hot enough and very tasty. The people working there were friendly and professional, very helpful. Sue was very attentive to our needs and served us with a huge smile. I recommend going there to enjoy the food and the ambiance.

SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. No one to welcome us as we walked in for 10 minutes! Literally walked around the whole place and couldn t find anyone. Literally no other customers either. Finally we find a waitress but she has the worst attitude ever and the way she speaks to you is like how all these kids speak in slang. I forgot her name but she has a tattoo. She speaks with no filter and doesn t know anything on the menu. Giving no advice because she doesn t know! You d think someone working being front of house will know everything about the menu! This totally ruined the mood for all of us dining here. After ordering we waited a long time like 40 minutes or so even though we were the only table there and the food wasn t even hot! It was lukewarm at best. The food was ok and had lacked salt and pepper to which I added. The food would ve been so much better if the food was piping hot straight out the kitchen! I just can t believe how we were treated by the waitress and her attitude to working there. It truly does not fit the look and presentation of the restaurant. After reading through the reviews you can also see a lot of people have experienced this over and over again! There s even fake reviews to get away from the real 1 star reviews! See photo attached! I was excited to come to this place after seeing socials and pictures on Google. I left ultimately disappointed and won t be coming back ever again. I don t ever go out my way to do a review like this but I ve never been so shocked as a customer in my life.

Wasnt the best experience this time round, wouldnt visit during the week again and maybe visit again on a friday / weekend, the service was really poor this time, many items out of stock and alternatives given without asking. Items on the menu we ordered were brought to us, which were missing ingredients described in the menu, missing cheese, sauces, and other ingredients. Restaurant decor is lovely. However, they did make up for a lot of mishaps and poor service. Once the manager was aware of the issues, she dealt with it brilliantly.

went here a few days ago, encountered 4 staff members. the first three were incredibly nice! one woman, who brought my check and probably unfortunately got the tip, with curly black hair that was put up and stood at the front, was rude. overall the food was good and atmosphere was nice. i talked to another employee about being from las vegas and she was delightful.

my parents with not very good English went today and they wear so impressed with the waitress my mom didn t know the stuff of the menu and the sweet girl with red hair she said she was Afghan was soo patient with them by showing food pictures and google translate and am so glad she waitress my parents will be coming down to see this girl soon

Great experience, great food, and great atmosphere

Had a good evening meal at Onyx. A huge place but with privacy designed within, with low lighting and table lamps that made for an intimate dining experience. There s an outdoor areas at the front too and the location is pretty cool, as it s a free standing building just to the side of the main shopping centre Chimes. The low- hanging leafy ceiling is somewhat gimmicky but somehow lends to the atmosphere well. Su, our lovely and attentive waitress gave us all we needed and with a smile and such grace. Worth a visit for dinner and big tables available for larger groups. We had the garlic Parmesan fries and the Onyx salad which I would recommend. The pizza was perhaps not the best of doughs as tummy did feel tight afterwards - but eating dough and cheese at night might be the reason for that. Thank you to the gentleman at reception too, for doing so well in explaining the bill to me with such patience, when I asked. I found this establishment quite classy and to find it in Uxbridge! I had a poor dining experience at Onyx. The only positive was the decor and live music. I visited here with some colleagues and staff were unprofessional. Our food took a long time to arrive, and once it did all of us were served cold food. We informed a young female member of staff who seemed to find it funny and did not offer a solution. Once the manager was eventually made aware, he did apologise profusely and offered complimentary drinks which was nice. However none of us would visit Onyx again. A complete waste of money. Mediocre food, poor service and staff. The only positive is that the restaurant itself looks nice.

We had to confirm our booking multiple times with different members of staff, and the manager at the front desk struggled to find our reservation even after we showed him the confirmation. Despite saying our name clearly several times, the manager mispronounced it repeatedly, which, though a small detail, was a sign of things to come. When we were finally seated, we were placed at an awkward table right in front of the bar and the main walkway. After requesting a different table, we were moved to a spot with a direct view of a table where dirty plates were being stacked up a pile that only grew throughout the evening. The staff appeared disengaged and inefficient, contributing to a chaotic and unpleasant dining experience. Atmosphere: 1/10 The atmosphere in the restaurant was equally disappointing. A singer began performing around 8:10 PM, but instead of enhancing the evening, it made it worse. The music was far too loud, more like a concert than background music, making conversation nearly impossible. Her performance was plagued by technical issues, with the music cutting out multiple times, forcing her to restart songs awkwardly. The overall atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable, with staff visibly not working well together, and the pile of dirty plates in our view only added to the sense of disarray. Environment: 2/10 The restaurant s décor might seem appealing at first glance, with its trendy Instagrammable fake plants and bushes hanging from the ceiling and walls. However, this aesthetic is nothing more than a distraction from the terrible food and subpar service. The environment was further sullied by the sight of dirty plates stacked up with half-eaten food from other diners. The atmosphere felt frosty and uncomfortable, exacerbated by clear tensions among the staff, who seemed disconnected and uninterested in providing a quality dining experience. Food: 1/10 Our dining experience began poorly with the starters, which arrived over an hour after we first sat down. We ordered calamari and zucchini tempura, but the calamari was cold and consisted of just six small pieces, outrageously priced at £9 £1.50 per piece! The zucchini tempura, at £8, was so excessively salted it was completely inedible. We informed the waitress, who offered to remake the dishes, but by then we were too frustrated to wait any longer. The mains were just as dismal: we received six prawn ravioli, all undercooked and drowned in a sauce that tasted like it came straight from a tin of Heinz tomato soup. The Onyx special pizza was a soggy, tasteless mess that we couldnt even pick up properly. The food was an utter disaster from start to finish. Drinks: 3/10 The service for drinks was painfully slow and added to our overall frustration. It took about 20 minutes for someone to take our order, followed by another 25 minutes to receive the water we requested, and an additional 10 minutes for our actual drinks to arrive. While the drinks were mediocre at best, the sheer inefficiency in serving them only made the experience worse. Final Thoughts Despite being offered a voucher for 50% off our next visit, which we noticed several other diners using, we will not be returning. Even with the discount, the experience was so disappointing that we would not subject ourselves or anyone else to this restaurant again. The restaurant may look appealing on the surface, but dont be fooled the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all fall disastrously short. Consider this a warning to avoid at all costs.

Lovely quaint place, decor is very classy - good for a date night. Food is DELIGHTFUL, the pizza is so yummy - the cheese is very melty. Cocktails are also a winner. Came here for a friend s birthday and she got cake and a cocktail on the house.

Location very nicely decorated, service is friendly, food wasnt amazing. Starters were ok, mains were hit and miss. Ravioli was good, steak was dry, lobster pasta, the pasta was good, the lobster dry and hard to cut open, I suggest when serving lobster with red sauce pasta to open and cut it. The pizza was good

My wife and I ate at the Onyx for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant decor is amazing. The jungle atmosphere and the dimmed lights add a magic touch to a nice dining. The food was good but by Italian standard not excellent. We asked for a thin crust pizza but the crust was quite thick. We received a nice complimentary DIY bruschetta , it was unexpected and a very nice touch. The service was good. Our waiter was nice and very welcoming. I personally feedback to speak a bit louder because sometimes I had issue in hearing his voice, with the music in the background. Overall a very nice experience that I definitely recommend to everyone.

To start with, we ordered a steak medium rare. What we got was an overcooked, dry, and flavorless piece of meat cooked well done. Its baffling how a supposedly reputable kitchen could so fundamentally fail at preparing a basic steak to the requested doneness. This is not just a minor mistake; its a glaring error. The pizzas were another disaster. Not only were they undercooked, but they also arrived long after the rest of our party had finished their meals. The dough was doughy and the cheese was a sloppy mess. The décor was a confusing mishmash that didnt fit the supposed Italian theme of the restaurant. It felt like someone threw together random pieces without any thought or coherence. The atmosphere was neither inviting nor comfortable, which detracted from the dining experience even further. The menu was overwhelmingly large, trying to cater to every possible taste but succeeding at none. There were simply too many options, which is never a good sign. A good restaurant should focus on a few dishes and perfect them, not scatter its efforts across an encyclopedic menu. While I might consider giving Onyx another chance in the distant future, its certainly not going to be anytime soon. Nor would I recommend this place to friends or family. I understand that the time of our visit might have influenced our experience, but the fundamental issues we encountered cant be ignored. Lastly, the prices were absurd considering the quality of food we received. There is no justification for such high prices when the food is this poorly executed.

Restaurant acting posh with whip my hair by Willow Smith blasting out loud. Walls covered in fake plants. Couldnt here what my friends were saying. Slow service despite only having people at three tables. The waitress had to go check with the kitchen if they could make the food we wanted to order; said they were too busy, again three tables. Starters werent worth the price and were not warm. Ordered 670 ml beer but was given 340 ml and charged the 670 ml bottle price. We waited 20 minutes after our starter and flagged down staff to ask for our mains, he nodded, walked off and no on came. After another 10 minutes we just got up paid and left. Wanted to order the lobster, but seeing the reviews here the food seems like a risk. Hopefully they can improve but I doubt I would go again.

Real mixed feelings... Maybe they were having an off day, but scanning through other reviews sort of reinforces my experience... The greenery and ambience looked great. We were trying it on a Monday lunch with a view to use it one evening, as it looks more of an evening place. The music was loud and it was all a bit Pete tong (pardon the pun) for Monday lunch. The food was good, pictures attached. However, I had to remind them it was 50% off for pasta on a Monday! Rather than them reacting as though this was an honest mistake, I was told it was to do with there not being a manager there. This sort of thing makes me feel really patronised as it suggests that none of the deals apply if there is no manager there at the time. This is obviously not the case, but is essentially what was being used as an excuse for the mistake, or to overcharge. I would say roll the dice on this place one evening when they dont have any deal on or watch your bill when they do! As I say, I read other reviews, alot of them were great, so it may have just been one member of staff having a bad day when I arrived

Booked a table for a birthday dinner for 4 people and the experience was awful. The staff is clearly inexperienced, borderline rude, we ordered 4 mojitos and the drinks arrived 1 at a time over a period of approx. 30 min as they had no mint and had to go and buy some and the ice was melting too quickly (?) so that s why we were being served 1 drink at a time??? Never heard anything as ridiculous as this, however we hoped this was just a one off. We have all ordered starters and this is where the true awful picture starts to shape up: we have ordered garlic mushrooms and to our surprise the mushrooms were covered in a cheesy/béchamel sauce with a faint hint of garlic, there was no indication whatsoever on the menu that this is how they will be served, the person that ordered it didn t really have it as he doesn t like cheese.2nd starter was the crispy squid, which should be renamed really as rubbery squid and 2 bruschetta with burrata and tomato which in all fairness, was good. It s pretty difficult to mess up some toast with tomatoes and burrata. For the mains, we have been warned there will be a bit of a wait so we waited without issues or complaints, however the wait didn t pay off as the mains were absolutely shocking. We ordered two portions of spaghetti aglio e olio and we basically had 2 portions of boiled spaghetti with 1 garlic clove cut in half burnt, 4-5 pieces of thick cut chillies and barely any oil. Luckily there was a generous portion of pasta water in there so couldn t complain they were dry as they were still swimming in water. No flavour, no taste whatsoever, just boiled spaghetti. We have also ordered a portion of beef ravioli and baby squid and mussles linguini and i am not sure which one was worse. The ravioli that basically looked as if someone chewed them and spat them out (was also told they taste as they look) or the linguini that was not even linguini pasta, with 4 mussels and 3 pieces of rubbery squid. 3 quarters of the meals were left untouched, all 4 mains, and we have not even been asked anything by the staff. We decided despite the awful food to at least have another drink as the mojito s were actually nice but low and behold, they were out of mint and this time no one ran to the shop to get any, we were just served 4 mojitos without mint! All in all, we paid the full bill and left elsewhere to grab some food as we were starving after paying no more and no less than £200. An absolute steal ! Oh, and the staff could clearly hear us laughing as we were looking in shock at our meals asking each other if they are having a laugh. The only silver lining, the lady that sings! She was lovely. Oh, and the laughs we all had afterwards as we couldn t believe how bad everything was. So, stay clear if you want some decent food as this is not place for it. You are welcome!

I was quite disappointed with the service first of all it was quiet and the waiter had to reconfirm the order twice because he didnt write them all and after waiting for over 20min still forgotten one of our main. The portions were so small for pasta and was fairly cold when served It was not worth the price abd will not recommend to anyone. And also we order mocktail and the straw provided were half the size of the glass when we asked the waiters she laughed and replied we don t have normal size it s finish. It was so annoying how do we drink our mocktail with full of ice.

Came here last night, very good food but service was better, we had Su as our server for the evening and she was lovely, warm and bubbly. Only thing we had a slight issue is the place is quite cramped. Seats are close.

Dined here on 19/07/24. Sit yourself down and grab a cup of tea. Here is my take. Waiter got the order wrong and kept sending other diners food over to our table. It wasn t even that busy Kept getting different people serving us on the table which doesn t help in trying to get orders right. Have one waiter serving your table that s it! We were told we could have an incorrect main that came to our table at half price. We just wanted what we ordered to be honest Such a long wait for food and drinks The singer was so loud you couldn t hear the conversation on the table. I m no old Joe Biden and I love the live music experience but this was head splitting. The speaker and voice just needs adjusting to suit a dining venue. There were a couple of birthdays in the restaurant. The usual happy birthday was being sung with it stopping and asking the person what their name was. Now, if it was me, I d get my ducks in order and know the name of the person, then sing the old happy birthday tune. We had a birthday on our table and did receive a lovely red velvet slice of cake to be fair. However, it went to the wrong person on our table. It was explained which member of our party birthday it was. Still wrong. The drinks menu had Peroni on draught. This wasn t the case. We received warm bottles of Birra Moretti. The bottles were 330ml but were charged the price of 660ml at £8. We apparently received discount on our bill but this was probably made back by 6 bottles of larger charged at £8 each. I knew the bill was too much for the service and experience we received. I needed to get out of there and couldn t stomach an argument with inexperienced staff. Our party did point out our disappointed with the night. The place is not cheap. I don t mind paying good money for my dinner experience as long as the service and food were good. Doesn t have to be excellent. However, the food and service here was below par. I want local businesses to have a good crack at things but things have to be pointed out when they are so incredibly bad. Lessons have to be learnt and quick. Otherwise it will be hard to see this place being here in 12 months time.

A solid 8/10 considering it s still fairly new. The decor and music is just beautiful. Had the lemon pepper wings, truffle fries and crispy squid. small portions but okay flavour. I m not a pizza person in general but really enjoyed their chicken pizza! Heard shisha is coming very soon so will definitely come back.

I had a lovely lunch with great food. The pasta and risotto were really tasty. We also ordered bruschettas that were really delicious. Our waitress Mina was super efficient and supported us very well during our whole lunch. I ll be back for sure.

Food is horrendous took ages to be served when there was only 2 tables at the time, I should have taken that as a sign to get out to be fair, the service is okay but not worth the money you spend for the proportion of food you get. I ordered a stake medium well done and it came looking and tasting like it just got microwaved, the proportions of food they give is embarrassing for the money you spend not impressed would never go back you would get more of your moneys worth from a chicken and chip down the road. Also ordered a lobster dish and it looked like it was fighting for its life on the plate still. Also half the menu was unavailable on a bank holiday ridiculous shouldnt even be open. Would highly avoid

Loved the service was greeted by a lady manager who was amazing and very sweet. Food tasted unreal and everything came perfectly on time. Have never experienced such good service and food would 100% recommend and prices are really good with some good lunch time deals. The atmosphere is also beautiful, felt like I was on holiday.

Really nice addition to Uxbridge fast service and good welcome with nice quality food (spicy Rigatoni particularly good), stayed for several hours with food and drink flowing all of which were delivered promptly and with a smile, bill was surprisingly good to. As many have mentioned the surroundings inside are great with foliage everywhere and music playing throughout (sometimes a tad to loud) but that was fixed relatively quickly, will be returning again soon!

From the Greeting at the reception, to the attentive waiter, the skilled chef and sophisticated manager! I ordered the seafood pizza, buratta salad, pan fried prawns and creamy mushroom. All as better as each other amazing food and amazing service. Truly a hidden gem yet to be discovered! Thank you very much everyone at Onyx.

Weird/rude waitress that just had 0 customer service skills - made whole ordeal 0/5*. Wouldn t return or recommend! Below par food & service charge that goes to the kitchen staff doesn t excuse the poor experience we had from the young female wait staff. Waste of money!

The interior and attention to detail seemed lovely when we walked in. Once we sat down, we were greeted and given our menus straight away. Looking at the menu, nothing really stuck out as it would at an Italian restaurant with the same price point. We proceeded to order drinks and starters. Our drinks came a long time after our starters which I simply did not understand even though I asked for these a few times. Out of all the starters, the tomato bruschetta was great. The garlic bruschetta was basically grilled cheese, big let down. Wings looked dried up and were really dry. Mains again mediocre, pizza was the only thing that looked good. My £26.00 truffle pasta was awful. Our waiter was lovely but everything else was a let down. I m really sad about the outcome because spending over £200+ on a meal shouldn t be a bad experience.

The definition of do not judge a book by its cover. Decor in restaurant is lovely but misleading. The overall experience was awful. Food was over 1hr & we were told it would be 30 Minutes max. Chicken wings lacked flavour as did the pasta dishes. Pizza was okay but had to wait an extra 15 minutes on top of the hour due to the first one going wrong . The only thing to have saved the experience was the waitresses who worked to sort out complimentary drinks/food and the wine being nice. Despite all errors had to pay £30 each. Would not return- very unhappy overall.

Avoid this place. The only thing that was nice about this place was the waitress Mena she gave excellent customer service. I think the owner spent more money and time on the decor than perfecting the food. The food literally has no taste. I ordered pasta and it was so watery and oily i felt like i was eating boiled pasta with tomato and beef with the water pasta was boiled & touch of oil in it. It was not nice at all. The desssert - no comment -_-. It s better to avoid this place tbh and spend the same amount of money somewhere else with good quality food. Pizza not edible as completely burnt, tastes like coal. Truffle risotto and chicken wings were ok. Uber allows only refund and not replacement, unfortunately as I really wanted a pizza.

Wouldn t recommend. Went on opening night which was a complete disaster and ended up leaving without even having a drink or food. Gave it a second chance and went back. When being seated I asked the host for a drink as I had been rushing to get there and was told the waitress would be over to take my order, 10 minutes later, nobody had been to the table and eventually the host did take the entire order anyway. We enquired about the offer (photo included) and were told that we had missed it as it had ended, even though there is no time displayed on the poster. It just felt like an absolute shambles throughout the entire visit. The pizza (photo included) was very good and tasty, although the wait was quite long. The pasta dish ordered was only ok, according to my other party. The menu and prices seem conflicting with some very very expensive dishes and then some reasonably priced dishes. The service was mediocre throughout, the tables were difficult to get in and out of and the décoré of fake plants kept getting stuck in my hair. I also did not want to pay for the service charge but it was automatically included even for just 2 people. All in all, would not recommend.

Im not sure why they open for lunch when theyre not prepared for it. Was a very odd experience - food was below average and the waiter we had came across as very confused and out of this depth. We ordered chicken wings, pasta and pizza and none were memorable. As a plus - the decor is swanky and I reckon the place might be better for dinner. As its a local spot, we might give it one more try but in the evening as see if that fares better.

Wow, just wow! Can t believe this new restaurant is located in Uxbridge, it s like a mix of Amazonico, Novikov, Jacuzzi and Sexy Fish. Food, service and atmosphere were superb. Before our meals arrived, we were served with fresh bread and an in-house sauce it was very delicious, followed by our meal a very yummy and well presented burrata salad, and sea bass.

-The food was very good and tasty with a huge menu and variety of food to choose from and the place has a lovely interior design and cool comfy vibes. -the DJ seemed out of place as it gives you the vibes of a club with its loud music while you are supposed to be in a restaurant with calmer lovely less loud music. - the Pizza was good but it was sort of Neapolitan ( like Prezzo s pizza) not true Neapolitan ( like Melissi or Pizza pilgrims). - the service were friendly and lovely but some of them seemed less organised or experienced.

The food was well presented and mostly tasty. Overall the food was nice but could have had more flavour. The steak we ordered was overcooked but was still edible. The service was great, it was quiet when we went meaning the serving staff were attentive. The person who served us the most was very polite. The decor is very impressive, giving a moody feeling even during the day.

I was sceptical since this is a new restaurant. I feared the interior would be tacky faux-luxury. But it wasnt tasteless. I think the plants, lighting, and furniture and other objects were chosen well. The live music was a fun touch too. They were very generous and went above and beyond for us. I wont specify exactly how as not to set an unfair expectation on them. Suffice to say I was quite impressed. The food was decent, provided very quickly. The staff were caring and it was easy to get their attention. The staff were a touch nervous but thats entirely understandable and had no impact on my experience. It is a stressful job. So this is not so much a review point, more a message to management. As a former hospitality worker myself, I hope management will provide them a lot of kind encouragement; nurture their confidence (not to imply you arent already or are treating them poorly!). I thought it was important I appreciate your efforts and state you seem to going in the right direction. I hope you keep it up. Im sure Ill be back and look forward to seeing how the place finds it stride.

Restaurant opened today, food was enjoyable and fresh, I think they need a few more days to get prepared for different types of customers, we went as a family and there was no baby changing.

My sister told them explicitly she had a dairy ALLERGY, they brought her a pasta with chunks of cheese in it. She asked numerous times before eating what these chunks were and they said chicken, only until she tasted it did she realise it was cheese. This is really a terrible experience for her and this is not a joke, to mix up someone s allergies, especially when they ask numerous times to reconfirm.

Lovely restaurant, but so, so disappointed. Waiting staff excellent, no complaints there. Very chaotic when arrived. Despite having booked earlier in the week, couldn t find my booking, then it was eventually found. Too long waiting for food service, waited an hour, then had to send main course back as not cooked properly. Ended up not having a main meal as told approx an hour long wait for food. Only ice cream for dessert, but they gave me two portions to make up for it. Gave us some canapés, free glass of champagne each and free glass of wine. Only time been for a meal and came out afterwards hungrier than what I was when went in. My friend 1st and 2nd menu choices were not available so had to have 3rd choice. OK, they had a corporate event on so very busy. Staff were very apologetic, but am so glad didn t do a Mother s Day booking. Will go back in a few months time and hope for a better experience.

Visited this place without a booking and they made sure I got an table, the service was on point and the food was very flavourful especially the pasta and pizzas

Very tasty food totally felt like I was in Naples for the night. Asked the head chef for advice on what to order, he went above and beyond to provide us with an exceptional service! Will be back next weekend!

Awful experience, not ready to be open When we arrived all the staff were sat down eating. A tall chap then rushed us to a table, nearly knocking my daughter over. We needed a high chair but he sat us at a table meaning nobody could get past, so we had to tell him it wouldn t work, he then sat us at a table for 2, which was never going to work, then sat us at a dirty table. So we had to ask for it to be cleared (there were only 2 tables seated in the restaurant , so it should have been easy to find us the right table). Then we were told they didn t have their alcohol license, so couldn t serve us alcohol, we weren t informed of this at the time of booking: Then we were asked for a drink 4 times. A girl with the most appalling attitude came and asked us what we wanted to drink, we said we had placed our order, but she said we needed to order again because they were all on their break and not doing anything about the drink and didn t know what they were doing; The fire alarm went off while the food was cooking, nobody came over to tell us not to worry. The food came - my daughter s pizza was soaking wet and mushy. My husbands steak was inedible and was meant to be medium rare, but cooked well done and couldn t be cut, we asked for a steak knife but they didn t have any. We asked to send the steak back and explained why, the guy from earlier who nearly knocked over my daughter then asked us to explain again, so clearly wasn t listening. I had the lobster pasta which was v nice A young girl stood by our table the whole time which was v awkward, yet once we finished she didn t clear the table, so had to ask her to remove the dishes but she cleared the whole table incl our half drunk drinks. Asked for the bill, it was meant to be a free dish for the mum for Mother s Day, but they applied this to my daughter s main dish instead (the cheapest). We asked for the service charge to be removed and attitude girl started arguing with my husband rather than apologising for what we had endured. On the plus side, as well as my pasta dish there was one guy that worked there with glasses and he tried his best to help despite everything that occurred, he was very good at relating to customers, but he was the only member of staff what should have been there, the rest were absolutely hopeless.

My worst experience:note they should be ashamed to call that pizza Neapolitan pizza . Staff was impolite we reached the table and the guy already asked what we want to drink even before we got the chance to have a look in the menu,glasses cutlery plates all dirty disgusting, no alcoholic drinks available,we didn t was asked if we have allergy or some food intolerance, reviews sold at the table if you give us here and now 5 star we give you 5 %discount as my review shows I declined the offer food was disgusting beside the pasta,pasta was acceptable not perfect beside that everything was above and beyond worst experience never again .thank you for the worst experience of my love for me my girlfriend on her mother day out dinner and my kids.

SCAM - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE They posted on social media advertising their launch event (post removed after all the negative comments, but I have included the screenshot) saying that it starts at 7pm and included complimentary food and drinks, even stating unlimited food and drinks! It sounded too good to be true, but I contacted them via direct message including their post and asked if I could reserve a table at 7pm for this event and they said of course. I even told them I would be coming with my 3 year old which they said was fine. When we arrived, we were walked through the ground floor, past a table with champagne flutes, past some canapes, and sent upstairs into a room full of tables with menus. The room was full of other innocents who had been duped by the social media post. As soon as we sat down we heard everyone complaining about how they were promised complimentary food and drinks and were duped into making a reservation and now expected to pay. When I complained too, I was told that yes it was a misunderstanding but that others had come and just paid for their food quietly and left - HOW RUDE? Insinuating that I was there begging for their cold canapes. I would never expect free food if it had not been offered and I probably would have eventually come to dine at Onyx and pay if this whole situation had not happened. I would never have made a booking for 7pm which is my daughters bedtime, but we made the exception to go to the event. They backtracked saying that the event downstairs was for influencers and family - please show me where on the post it says that?! Anyway, after enough complaining, they decided that we could go downstairs and get canapes and drinks, but that we had to carry them upstairs ourselves and we couldnt remain downstairs as we were not invited. However, at this point around 7:45pm, they were still saying that the canapes could not be eaten for another hour. My daughter was hungry and crying and I was told to just buy her something off the menu, and so when we eventually got up to leave as most others did, then the manager starting begging us to stay and offered to bring my daughter something to eat. We refused, we didnt want their food anyway, the service, the organisation, the scam just to fill their tables, it was all too much and all too disgusting. Also I am Italian and I didnt see any food that looked Italian - quite an insult to Italian food although I did not try it. Owners are not Italian by any means, nor are the chefs. Finally when I asked for a contact to complain, I was told there is no email address or business card yet and was rather given a telephone number written on a piece of receipt paper. So so unprofessional. I heard all the waiters talking about how embarrassed they were and how they would be so upset too. I saw one table who did decide to pay for food send their steak back as it was completely raw. A complete shambles and I think the owners are just some rich kids who thought they could make a cool spot, but just have a complete lack of knowledge on how to run a restaurant. The interior is beautiful, but that is all I can say that is positive about this place.

- atmosphere was ok, very tacky decor with fake plants all over the walls (why Italian restaurant must feel like jungle?) - we booked in advance, on reception no one could find our booking, clearly disorganised and lack of management skills or any system in place for managing reservations - got seated finally. Waiting for 30 minutes to someone taking our order. More than an hour waiting for food. - pizza was decent, steak was very average. Asked for steak knife, server was looking at me like I was asking him for something miraculous. I had to eat my steak with a butter knife. Server showed up 20 min later telling me they don t have steak knives. - service was bad, there was at least 15 servers all running around, clearly without any direction from someone in charge. - servers all wearing random clothes, most of them had sneakers (you pretend to be posh place with 24karat gold pizza, you can t have servers serving food in an oversized shirt and adidas sneakers, sorry.) - the whole canapes were tacky, when asked sever what is that, we were told canapes . I m like wow thanks, now can you tell me what it is exactly? , and she had no idea. If I would be picky, and pretend I am vegetarian, and took a canape, without knowing what it is, I would make a scene. You can t have servers serving food, without them knowing what they are actually serving.) All things considering, I understand this was an opening night, but it seemed there is no one in charge, nobody was managing the team, or giving directions. Food was okay, and that can be easily improved. Servers can be trained, decor can be changed. What can t be undone, is the first impression, which unfortunately wasn t good. Hopefully they ll improve.

Beautiful restaurant and very polite service. A few teething problems with the food but to be expected with it just opening.

Really poor in every way. Okay some free drinks were provided on opening night but the management cared more about the influencers and special guests at the party on the ground floor than the paying public. The food when it eventually arrived wasn t good. I give 1 start for the waiter bringing the guys on the table next to me ketchup to mask the taste when they complained their pizza was burnt.

Shocking service! Poor food! If anyone does plan a visit, I d recommend placing your food order 3 days prior to ensure it arrives in time. Also, be prepared to ask the tables situated either side of you to squeeze in each time you need to move. Opening night was a total shambles, the highlight being that we got to know all of the other people also ridiculing the horrific service. I hope the influencers that were booked for a photoshoot and reviews return each week to drive the business moving forward.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely ridiculous experience. Service was poor even though the restaurant was empty. Tried to make us share two pieces of BREAD between 5. Cold food, didn t have drinks we wanted and forgot a dish at the table. Staff made it feel like it was our fault for complaining. DO NOT GO!

Avoid! Overpriced low quality and tasteless food and clueless staff

The waiters were gentle and the food was tasty, the burrata was amazing and the pasta very tasty.
