Good place with breakfast included. The breakfast buffet is only on weekends. Some reviews mention shady people in front of the hotel, its understandable with the location and the bar inside but when we arrived at 1.30am, it was quiet and the person at the front desk helped us promptly with our room. The smell in the elevator was very bad though. You can smell it through the 5 can of freeze, but the room is nicely remodeled.
The hotel is well placed but the bar with slot machine attracted suspicious people and made the experience not pleasant
Not a bad hotel, given that it was constructed in the 1930s. The interior is renovated but the rooms are relatively small, and some of the furniture is very old. There are also few outlets. However it is clean, and there was nice breakfast. It is also right in downtown Val d'Or so it is nice to be able to walk around.
I got a rroom without booking through the 24/7 open room service. The rooms were so clean👌, The breakfast 😋 was sensational. It is very affordable and the best place to stay in Val d'or. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.
Honestly I’m very impressed with the price for what you get , the rooms are clean the service was amazing when I had just a small problem with the power in my room they were quick to tend to my problem and I’m grateful they were patient with me , room is clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable I’d definitely book another room here next time I’m in valdor great location close to restaurants, bank, shopping, pharmacy and so much more! Old rooms in disrepair. I've stayed there 2 times in the last 2 months for work, and each time the room is unclean. This time was the worst, the bathroom sink was clogged and black flecks of moldy smelling substance was leaving the drain when I washed my hands. Absolutely disgusting.
Room smells smoke. We asked for none smoking room There was a cigarette butt can by balcony door under AC. It reeked smoke all time in the room. Bed confortable and clean. Website advertise a restaurant with free full breakfast but has been closed for months. Were given a box lunch instead. Room not as per website. Asked for 2 queen size bed; given an handicapped room. Unable to watch TV because hung up firmly high on wall , unable to angle it and unable to watch it from a bed. Given an handicaped room with one bed low on floor. We asked for 2 Chairs to be able to seat on the long balcony as per all the other rooms on that long balcony but where no outside chairs were brought to us even though we did ask a couple of time for them . prices of room not worth what we got for we asked for nice 2 queen beds size room but we were given an handicapped room.
I specifically booked a room with parking in front due to how much stuff i needed to bring in, and having a brand new snowmobile in my truck that i wanted to back in against the building to prevent any possible theft. So i get there at around 11pm with my hot food, check in, and then pull around only to find out my parking spot is taken (no other rooms left). I speak to the front desk and she assured me she'll either find the person or tow them, and i should go wait in my room for her to call. I wait. And wait. I start calling other hotels because it's been half an hour. So i go to ask her what the status is, and it turns out she found the person (another guest) but they won't answer the phone, and because it's a paying guest they can't tow them. She expected me to lug 5 bags and a handful of other things across the back alley into my room, plus leave my vehicle far away almost out of sight. I told her I'm not staying then. She starts processing the refund and tells me that because I've been in the room for so long she can't give a full refund... SERIOUSLY?! This place is a joke. I went down the street to the comfort inn. The room is nicer, the rate is cheaper, and the staff went above and beyond to help me out.
Bel hôtel, très propre, belle chambre, très accessible. Pour déjeuner vous avez un menu préétablie....si vous en désirez plus vous payer un petit extra. Pour les voitures électriques ils ont 4 bornes. Pour 7$ plus taxes(avec un dépôt de 15$ pour la carte qui vous ai remboursé) vous pouvez rechargez votre voiture tout le long de votre sejour. Rooms: Rooms were ok, I didnt feel safe at all in this neighborhood, a guy was sitting at the top of our stairs to go in our room, he was rolling a cigarette on the floor with old butch from the ground, at night people were slamming doors and yelling in the hallway, multiple times police were called. Sink in our room was blocked. Breakfast included was good, good service. Safety: Poor neighborhood and anybody has access to the hotel, no security at all Noteworthy details: Rooms are cheaper than other places in this town, but I dont recommend to go there.
We have just arrived from a stay with you, the welcome from SimonC when we arrived was perfect we had a little problem and Kalyna and Suzanne helped me with great kindness the hotel is a little old but the service is perfect in the morning we were entitled to a very good complete lunch offered with the reservation and for $6 you have the brunch the service was fast and the waitress was very nice I recommend this hotel very well located many restaurants nearby rate perfect price quality Rooms: A little old but clean Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants and the mine to visit
I had a very large 2 bed wheelchair accessible room and it was the best accessible room I have ever had so far. Bravo for the sliding door in the bathroom. You have to love firm mattresses. Special mention: one of the two beds is lower and therefore easier to access unlike other adapted rooms visited so far. At the height of the wheels. A little noise from outside though. Very friendly staff. Good lunch with hot or cold options. Large balcony. Access to the balcony a little difficult because of the threshold. Small lounge in the reception. Wheelchair accessible entrance at rear. Shower bench provided. Detachable shower. Pillow and extra blanket.

Very good service
Expensive for what it is. $172 for 1 night (1 bedroom with 1 queen bed). The room is small, no fan in the bathroom, not much pressure in the shower. It was cold (17°) when we arrived. We were woken up during the night by our roommates who were doing somersaults. I was hesitating between two places for the night, I chose this one, a little more expensive, because lunch was included. Lunch: a square of cheese, a hard-boiled egg that is moist and impossible to peel without leaving with half, a dry croissant, two cups of jam and a small box of juice. For the price difference, I should have gone to the other place and picked up some McDonalds on the road. The bed was comfortable. Overall it wasnt that bad. But for this price, I really expected better.

The bathroom was not adequately cleaned, there were several hairs on the floor and in the sink, 1 of the 2 mattresses was only comfortable and the soundproofing was lousy, very echoey place and between floors it was terrible. To add, there are a lot of people coming and going at this place at all hours...
Very disappointing.. dirty room, dirty bathroom, no fridge, chaotic parking, TV as big as an iPad located 15-20 from the beds, impossible to close the curtains adequately so people from the outside staircase can see into the rooms, lunch included a brown bag including a rock-hard croissant, a small juice for children, a hard-boiled egg with a black Diamond cheese.. in short To avoid

Noteworthy details: The entire place has been perfumed with chemicals. Its an olfactive attack. Had to open the balcony fully at -10C° outside to make the smell go away. Very disappointed me and my boyfriend we were traveling and we booked we were tired she told me to come that you are ready so we were on the way with a 4 hour drive just to get there and she reminded me at the last minute to tell me that I no longer had a room and to organize myself basically very disappointed I had to work 8 hours!!!!! drive to find a hotel....
A little advice if you are traveling and want to book in advance, go ahead, after a 16-hour drive we were told that the hotel was full! We had booked in advance, fortunately we thought of bringing a tent just in case, so avoid it if you dont want any unpleasant surprises

Very well located, the rooms are always clean, the wifi works well, breakfast included at the small restaurant at the entrance. Barring your vehicle doors, unloved, undereducated and poorly behaved children are ready to turn everything upside down to find $1 if they dont have the heart to go to work like everyone else, note that the staff is very kind and the place is quiet, the beds comfortable.

Beautiful place, renovated up to date. Welcoming and smiling staff. Impeccably clean except for one cup (dishwasher dirt). Small fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Fast WiFi. Very slippery bath-shower, sufficient hot water. Cold breakfast included in 1 bag; correct but nothing more (it would be appreciated to be able to choose part of the contents of the bag; it would be less waste). Big downside: 2 cm space under the door so you can hear EVERYTHING.

Good welcome, decent room and shower, apart from the lock of hair found on the bed when we arrived. Breakfast was good. We stayed there for just one night and it was good. Its a little expensive for a night, but hey! When all the other hotels are expected to be full, this one is a good choice. I recommend it.

Courteous staff at reception and fast service. The room was pretty ordinary for the price I paid: $210. One night. There was an eraser stuck to the wall and a soiled towel with mess on the floor. All night long some customers were shouting and slamming my doors and several homeless people fought outside and threw glass bottles at each other. Zero peace and quiet here. The environment around the hotel is miserable and its worrying to know that there are intoxicated people screaming and throwing things around the parking lot. I was expecting to have a broken car window...On a positive note, the included breakfast was good and the service impeccable.

The room was badly properly ordinary and cold lunch. Pay for two nights received only a lunch included. Cleaning is not done every day. No cosmetic products in the bathroom, the balcony of the 80s style of the rear is a disaster. The elevator is a disaster, were afraid it will stop on its own or fall into the basement. The building is in serious need of renovation.
Never had a problem staying here in the past, however this time I called ahead told the front desk to tell them i got food delivered and I was flying in and was gonna be late, I showed up my food was take by one of the workers and there was no place open to get a meal I went to bed on a empty stomach after a 12 hour day of traveling

I had a great sleep here, bed was extremely comfortable. Room was nice and clean, the clean but stained towels sealed in a plastic bag made me laugh and a little puzzled as to why they would draw attention to it. The staff at night and day were very friendly, they seemed happy to be there. I would stay here again, the only thing that was a little annoying was that the curtains wouldnt completely close. I like a very dark room when I sleep so this is important to me, not a star reducing negative point though. It was nice to stay in the middle of town, I arrived at night so I didnt get to see anything though all I saw in the morning was a brief drive through.

I give the staff 5 stars, theyre very nice and helpful, but the we were disappointed with the hotel, if you can call it that, its more like a motel. Room and toilet smelled bad. I cleaned it up with Lysol even the floor (the wipes came out black) but still needed a lot of cleaning, specially the carpet and curtain. Bath tub was disgusting too

Locked out of hotel after 10:30pm when retrieved item from car. No one at front desk and doors locked. Fortunately after a few minutes I used the first floor street room entrance and spouse unlocked the door. Room was noisy.

The salad bar was well stocked with everything you need to make good and beautiful salads and the hot buffet, the curry chicken was a real delight. I was really surprised! and not expensive too!

Very good lunch, be careful he looks for the slightest $$$ to charge when you leave, We were 1 parent child hockey team and some grandparents we even opened the hotel restaurant on Friday evening, in all we left a lot of money at this hotel and they asked 3 of us to reimburse towel and wipe...... And 4 of us had big surprises on their credit card accounts in the following days......

The hotel looks ordinary from the outside, but the rooms are comfortable and very well renovated. The included lunch is excellent, far better than many so-called high-end hotels.
Upon registering, receptionist informed us that she does not answer questions are she only answers the phone. Did not have info on directions or where a restaurant was. Not helpful at all. Bathroom is so small there isnt any room for your toiletries bag to sit and towels are only large enough for a small person

Too bad the restaurant service ends at 7 p.m. we were surprised to see that at 6:45 p.m. they refused to serve us.
A little dated but very clean and comfortable. The included lunch is very good. Its a 10-15 minute walk from the hospital, which is perfect for me. Thanks to the whole team.
