101-1100 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1Y7, Canada
Relaxed bistro serving traditional comfort food with global touches in a rustic, country setting.
I gravitate to Burgoo every time I come to Vancouver, it offers hardy food that is familiar yet with a different edge to it. I have been here 3 times and never disappointed. The staff is great and very inviting and personable. This time it was beautiful with the view of the hospital lit up with its Christmas lights.
We stumbled upon Burgoo and stepped in because of the cozy vibe. Service super friendly, long wait for food after ordering. However, it was worth it! Had lamb tangine special and mac and cheese - both were served piping hot, excellent portions and absolutely delicious.
If you want comfort food this is a place for it, helpings are just about right to fill you up without waste, cheese lovers heaven, price point was a little high, service was good and cheerful. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed, good place for a date or business lunch. Happy hour is drinks only and just 4 choices. Worth a visit for sure!!
The food is so good!! I love soup & sandwiches so I knew I'd love this place. Appetizers were all great. The desert was amazing as well. We had the chocolate mousse. 10/10 recommend. Great staff.
This was a great experience! My group of 4 came here on a Thursday night after driving up from Seattle. We were able to be seated right away and all the staff we interacted with were super friendly. Given we weren’t super hungry, we decided to order a bunch of appetizers. We got the biscuits, fried cauliflower, chicken bites, Mac & cheese, lentil soup and FAB salad. Everything was yummy! I definitely want to come back to try some of their drinks as well
From the name of the place, you would think it has burgers- but it doesn’t! The menu features ‘comfort food’ options. From Mac and Cheese, to warm soups, to delicious toasty sandwiches. Its a perfect stop for cold nights.
Everything was so delicious! Loved everything, especially the Brie fondue. Would definitely recommend! Service was fantastic as well.
Burgoo was my favorite spot to eat out during my pregnancy and will for sure won't stop coming back to eat my favorite dishes. It's right infront of St. Paul's Hospital so after all those test, I would stop by and wait for my husband so we can eat together. It's a nice spot to just chill and relax. It may be loud during happy hour but still a great ambiance. Great experience everytime!
We went to dinner here on a cold and rainy night. No reservations, and we walked right in around 5pm. I got the lobster mac and cheese and my husband got the jambalaya. Both were fresh and hot. Perfect for the weather.
Delicious comfort food
I had mulled wine for the first time, and I loved it. The lobster bisque and grilled cheese were truly delicious. Service was outstanding.
Mediocre food. Needs more seasoning. Mac & cheese was dry, pierogis were hard and dry and bland and pointless. Weird sauces that were not complimentary, as in the karaage. Onion soup was better once it cooled down. My husband burned his mouth on his first taste. Staff is friendly, ambience is cute, some nice dishware, prices ok.
Staff is nice
Didn t get a chance to try the food. Nobody seated us for 15 minutes even though the place was practically empty. People passed by us without even looking in our direction. Will not return.
Super cozy food and atmosphere especially for this time of year! Order the grilled cheese and tomato soup tasted like a warm hug! Overall great experience!!
Anytime Im in Vancouver I come to Burgoo on Burrard for the crab bisque and grilled cheese. I even bought their cookbook they have for sale to make it at home. The torpedo shrimp and fondue are also delicious. Love this gem of a place.
Perfect place to get some delicious comfort food (fondue, French onion soup etc.). Their lavender lemonade was delicious. Very cozy atmosphere!
Loved this restaurant so much that we had to go back twice! Everything was great from the food to the service! Will definitely go back!
Burgoo is delicious and one of our favourite North Van spots! #ContestEntry
We stood in the doorway waiting to be seated for ten minutes and although the waitresses saw us and passed close by us a couple of times we were completely ignored. We left!
Miss some of the old items but love the og gilled cheese and tomatoe soup
Great comfort food in a cozy setting! #ContestEntry
Super tasty! Love the soup and sandwich - the grill cheese is my favourite! #contestentry
A couple of good vegetarian options. Good food, excellent service but a bit noisy/loud
For a hearty comfort food experience, this restaurant is an excellent choice, offering delicious cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere
Best place for comfort food, they have the best grilled cheese sandwiches and soup! #contestentry
Oat latte half sweet vanilla..... Damn good. Great job to these baristas...
Had a really great lunch experience at Burgoo. Found it accidentally on maps and was really pleased with the hearty selection of sandwiches and soups. Super cozy and delicious!
Great food. Service can be improved. The servers seemed to be tried and/or not happy to be there.
Bourguignon and music so good!
Popped in for some hearty comfort food, excellent Beef Bourguignon with a glass (well a couple) of a local BC Red, friendly staff, well worth a visit, highly recommended
The food was fine but took almost an hour to arrive for out party of 7. I understand we had a large group may play a part. We were trying to return to a professional event and stopped here for a quick lunch but it was not quick so this review is mainly to let others know food might take a while to get to you. We actually changed our meal to takeout due to running out of time to eat it there. Once it does come, the food itself is fine. I had butter chicken and it was fine. Not great but also not bad hence the 3 stars. I got charged for buiscuits i never recieved though.
Pleasant atmosphere, good food and good service. We recommend it 100%
My partner and I were visiting Vancouver for the day and we stopped here for some lovely drinks and appies! The drinks were great and the food too--but what really made the experience so wonderful was the service! I wish we got our servers name so we could give her credit. She was very charismatic and attentive; well certainly be back on our next visit to the city.
Friendly waitress giving excellent service. Interesting and delicious menu. I had lam tangine and banana bread chocolate chip dessert.
Staff is not cooperative and make ignorant i feel bad
Really good food. The el cubano sandwich with salad was great. A little too hot in the middle but otherwise really good. And absolutely good cold brew, which was clearly made with good coffee. Id love to stop by again on my next visit to Vancouver.
Fantastic service, great choices and food is delicious at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Great place Just eaten at Burgoo, three great courses, nice drinks and superb, friendly service at a good price, super happy and very happy to recommend this restaurant Food
Great spot for cozy lunch food (soups, sandwiches, salads)
Unexpected find mid afternoon walk. Not busy and got seated immediately. Server is full of energy and tried their beef bourguignon. Large portion and rather heavy but extremely flavourful. Their lobster Mac and Cheese is also quite fantastic. Highly recommended.
I m sitting at the bar, it s 4 pm, place is somehow busy for a Friday at 4pm. Location is Burrard, right across from Saint Paul s Hospital. I m here because the pharmacy didn t have my prescription ready and I m killing time. To my surprise, this was a very pleasant experience. Food was delicious, I had the soup and salad combo, you can t beat the price, and the taste, omg, so good. To top it off, the service was magnificent, Halle (like Halle Berry) was all by herself, during what in guessing was a shift change? Anyway, she was on top of the whole show. Tables outside, inside, at the bar (where I m sitting) l must say, the girl knows what she s doing. You can tell it comes naturally to her. I am definitely coming back and bringing my friends with me. 10/10 would recommend.
I was craving tomato soup and Burgoo was the first place I found that sold it. So we went here for lunch and it was the best soup I ve ever had. I think about it at least once a month. 10/10, super solid. I d recommend to anyone who s craving any sort of comfort food or who wants to try a new place.
Really liked the laid back experience. The French Onion Soup was the best I have had in a restaurant! I make it at home. I suggest going to this place.
Had to cancel my order because it took too long to be served. I wasnt told by the server until after I asked how much longer the food would take that they only had 1 person working in their kitchen today. A heads up would have been nice. Please warn your customers that the food takes extra long to be served due to not having enough kitchen staff before people sit down to wait.
Comfort food for weary travelers.. 10 stars Grilled cheese , the best French onion soup, and pulled pork Mac &Cheese! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp out front
French Onion soup as a main was fantastic. Perfect for a rainy day. Brussel sprouts were a great entree
I m not usually a fan of Mac & Cheese but this was good. But even better was the Beef Bourguignon 10/10 would order this again.
A surprise delight when we stayed at Sheraton. Good comfort food. French onion soup excellent. My wife loved the beef bourguignon . Recommend.
Came for dinner around 7:30pm on a Sunday, it wasn t crowded at all and was able to get a table for two immediately. Service was very friendly. The Sangria was good. Really enjoyed the beef bourguignon: beef was tender, pearl onions had a nice sweetness, potatoes were creamy, and the sauce was packed with flavor. Chocolate mousse was delicious, light, airy, and chocolatey. Thought the menu was a pretty good value!
Quirky little eatery around the corner from the Sheraton Wall. Excellent food, and quirky decoration made this an inviting spot on a rainy evening.
This is a lovely little restaurant, close to hotels. Great food and our server was very nice.
Went here for breakfast and dinner both where awesome and good prices!!!
I had an incredible dining experience at Burgoo! From the moment we walked in, the staff i believe their names were belle, Aoibh(?) and Camille, were truly exceptional. they were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely some of the friendliest servers i ve ever had. They recommended fantastic dishes that were both beautifully presented and delicious, making the experience even more enjoyable. This team s professionalism and warmth made me feel welcome and appreciated. I Highly recommend visiting if youre looking for top-notch service. Cant wait to return!
Great soup and sandwiches
Delicious balance of food. Carrots had a nice crunch. Perfect and filling for lunch. Vegetarian options: Large vegetarian options.
Best restaurant I have ever visited.
When I went it was not lunch or even hour, it was very chill and food is delicious!
Over priced at $22 for a sandwich and the mushroom soup was watered down. A bit disappointing given all the good reviews. Mac and Cheese was good.
We were the first group to arrive, and I inquired with the waiter about food options that would align with my dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, she was impatient and did not allow me to fully articulate my preferences. The menu items were expensive, with a focus on bread-based dishes, and in my opinion, both the service and the quality of food were disappointing.
Food came before the drinks. Service was a bit slow.
Good for lots of comfort food and a relaxed vibe. I really liked the mashed potatoes. The beef bourguignon had tasty little caramelized onions, carrots, and mushrooms. Its a big portion! I dont know if I would get it again because the beef was more grisly than I like (though some people like that) and it was too salty for me. That made me a little sad because I hoped this would be a go-to for a favourite dish but its probably good for my budget that I dont love this meal too much since it isnt one of the cheaper items. I will try other dishes there since there are plenty of options. The Ceasar cocktail hit the spot for me with lots of horseradish and a good mix. The chocolate mousse is super delicious and nice. I wasnt sure if I had room after the size of the meal so I asked them for the to-go version and it wasnt a problem since they do delivery orders too. The staff was relaxed and nice. I liked the big bar area too and the many booth-ey areas for semi-cozy hang outs.
This is my first time coming to location cause I usually go to the one on Main St but I m glad to say that the chain is consistent at both locations. The food is still good and the vibes are similar. I got the chicken sandwich in the picture but I would actually recommend the El Diablo grilled cheese instead. I didn t get a picture but my bf got it and it was amazing.
Great prices for the quality of food
Overpriced, poorly serviced.
Arrived before the lunch rush, placed our order, and it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and water. Food was severely underwhelming. The $22 chicken sandwich was so overpriced. Ciabatta burnt like a crouton and very little chicken. Choice of side, a kale Caesar, yuck. I would have sent it back but the server was nowhere to be found. Friend ordered the Cuban sandwich and a side of soup (didnt know that was an option) and he liked it. But service was abysmal. Will never go back.
Very good food and nice atmosphere, chill and casual.
Amazing food and service
Great place, taaty
Fun & tasty + friendly staff. Nice place reasonably priced too.
Burgeoning food is always a treat, the service was excellent , the location on Burrard lacks any charm.
This place is comfort for the soul. Everyone Ive met on the staff has been so chill, particulary when i have come in from hospital related events. The vibe is great and welcoming. Pricing portions and food quality are all fair. Had a lovely pre-op dinner last night and returned for (take out) valentines date night in recovery. Thanks for keeping it right.
too salty
Very kid friendly
I tried the Mac and cheese it definitely was a good choice.
Food was outstanding, great place to enjoy some flavoursome meals at a reasonable price given the portion size.
I love their music that enables you to have a conversation. Lovely staff. Their Onion Soup was our favorite and the apple caramel apple crumble needs more crumble
A nice local restaurant with an eclectic selection on the menu. Well worth looking at if you are in the neighbourhood.
Homey vibe paired with amazing eats that are good for the soul. The Beef Bourguignon is heavenly. Above all, the service was terrific. Personable staff that made you feel right at home. Will definitely go back.
After school special with crab bisque and Dos diablos sandwich never misses. All their food is good tbh.
The food tasted okay, but it was so salty that I couldnt eat it all. I felt like my stomach was filled with water. There was more than half of the food left and enough water to drink. The atmosphere was nice and the staff service wasnt bad. However, the food price is too expensive. I dont recommend it because I felt like it was a waste of money.
I had French onion soup, La Mercigi (?) sandwich, and meat burgundy, and it was mostly salty (for Koreans only)... Still, the hospitality of the staff was really good, and the atmosphere could be a bit noisy. Anyway, I enjoyed it (and it was simple!!!) and it was great! Vegetarian options: Look closely at the description section! Dietary restrictions: Look closely at the description section! Kid-friendliness: Avoid accompanying infants. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility 5 out of 10
Delicious pulled pork sandwich. My daughter got the max and cheese and said it was also fantastic. Not the cheapest but it s also Vancouver. Definitely recommend
Ive eaten at different Burgoo locations over the years, but today we ordered delivery from this location. It was a disappointing experience. The chicken sandwich was a decent size, but the coleslaw was one fork served in a dip container! The chips were about half the amount you get in a Halloween sized packet. And only one of us got a dip (not that more was needed for the amount of chips but still). I also got the bisque for $13 that was served with a crouton vs the piece of garlic bread shown in the photo. I get prices have inflated, but these portions were ridiculous. Especially looking at the instore photos here, the difference is plain to see.
What do I say? I really do not know where to start. I normally visit here fairly regularly but recently I overheard heard the manager (Samona? sp?) speaking to another employee like they were a total piece of garbage. It was the most abhorrent and disgusting behavior Ive ever seen in a work place. If the employee reads this, you should consider doing something about it because it was VERY abusive and toxic and that is certainly an unsafe workplace environment for you. I am so sorry you had to endure this. Worksafe BC has a lot of resources for people in your position. You were lovely and surely can find a job in a safer environment. This business is in dire straits and needs immediate guidance and training for their management as soon as possible. I will never eat here again and implore anyone else who does to pay attention to the staff closely because this is not something I think anyone should support.
Doordash driver stuff are so rude and unprofessional specially the guy
Food and service great as usual.
Comfort food in the best sense. Their tomato soup is some of the best I ve ever had- as well as their eggplant sammie.
Food geat. Server very very rude.
Met up with a friend on Dec 21st here for a lunch. This was smaller than Main St, but the same cozy atmosphere for a comfort food. It was freezing cold that day. We ordered After School Special ($19.50) and French Onion Soup ($14.50). I was so impressed by the taste of both grilled cheese and tomato soup. Crunchy bread and so much stretch in cheese! Besides it was a good cheese NOT Kraft cheddar! Tomato soup was so flavourful! Even my friend liked the grilled cheese, it was excellent! Couldn t say much on French onion soup. Buddy said it was salty so she couldn t finish it. Food was on the pricy side for sure. I seriously enjoyed my food it was quite a surprise. I was little puzzled of construction of kitchen and washroom thinking washroom was way back against the wall. Food didn t take long to come out.
Very nice house blend red. I think its got 5-6 different grapes, and is lovely.
I live nearby and have visited during brunch and dinner hours. In all occasions, the staff was very friendly and service was great. The atmosphere is very is very welcoming, causal and laid back. They serve really delicious comfort food, all very well prepared and with a nice presentation. The French Onion Soup is so good! Seriously, just go ahead and order one as a starter without giving too much thought to it. The Shepherds Pie, Chicken Pot Pie and Crispy Brussel Sprouts were very good as well. As for desserts, the Cherry Cheesecake (no bake) was good, though I didnt see prior indication that it was not baked. The Turkish Old Fashioned was very good.
I came here for a date and not only was the food amazing, but our server Christopher greeted us with a warm smile and he had amazing positive energy. I was honestly not having a super good day but being greeted in such a friendly manner made me feel 10x better. I took his recommendation for a drink, it was a mango soda sort of thing and it was DELICIOUS. My date enjoyed his food too, we shared fondue, he got the chicken pot pie and then I also got my usual Mac and cheese which was yummy like always. Christopher made us feel taken care of he and he was great at conversing with us, had an awesome sense of humour and honestly just treated us like friends of his! I eat out at least 3x a month at various restaurants and never have I received such splendid service at any restaurant. Whenever I ve visited Burgoo in the past the servers were always friendly but Christopher truly created a memorable experience for myself and my date and we will definitely be back again soon! Like usual, the food was great but I really am not used to receiving such a high quality of service. I was really happy we chose to eat here and I hope Christopher can get the recognition he deserves for a job well done. I ve worked in the hospitality industry myself before and I know how tough it is, PLEASE give Christopher a raise he deserves it! My night was amazing and he helped make that possible :) thank you for being so caring, kind and great at your job Chris, we will remember you and the outstanding service for sure. Highly recommend and if anyone asks for restaurant suggestions in Vancouver, I will make sure to tell ppl about the fantastic food, atmosphere and service at Burgoo! Sadly I forgot to take pics of the food but I assure you it looked and tasted 10/10
An excellent place to eat something with a homey touch. The mac&cheesse is very well served, it is baked. The lamb and mash dish highly recommended and the chicken casserole is finely prepared. It was a find on Burrard Street. Price according to the dishes.
Our waiter was amazing ( forgot his name but he said he had been in the business 20 years) Food was outstanding Loved Loved Food : 5/5
Their jambalaya is a balm to the soul!!! Spiced just enough to take the chill off of this damp February night with lots of beautiful prawns, mussels and sausage, I was particularly impressed with the herbed smear on the side of the bowl. Perfection!! Friendly staff, great drink selections. Fair prices. Love!! I can see why this place is so busy.
Wonderful casual dining. Attentive server, excellent food of wide variety, comfortable space and not too loud. Visited on a Friday evening.
Good spot for a casual meeting place with friends/ coworkers for cheese lovers. High quality comfort food is precisely what is offered so if you have specified dietary needs such as vegan or gluten free you may find it a bit difficult to order off the menu. I was in a very cheesy mood today so I ordered the Kale salad . On the first bite it felt like a very light fluffy soft cloud, one of the most enjoyable kale salads Ive ever tried and paired nicely with the very cheesy and filling French onion soup. Half orders of salad is available which is nice since most of the menu is starchy and deep fried types of comfort food. Peppermint tea is organic. They serve a selection of coffee drinks. Seats available to sit during the early afternoon hours. Staff is attentive, calm, polite and full of smiles.
Good comfort food and gooey cheese sandwiches.
Delicious home cooked comfort food. I love the sandwiches- the Cuban is really good and the cheese fondue also slaps.
This was a quiet place for a peaceful family dinner. Much roomier and quieter than the their restaurant on Main Street. The restaurant is situated on the opposite side of St. Paul s Hospital. Parking can be tricky. But there are parking available nearby. We had Cheese fondu and chicken wings for appetizer. They were good and we enjoyed both. For the mains we had French Onion soup, Turkey bacon sandwich, Chicken pot pie. They were also good. The menu is not too long but reasonable. Beer on tap was good too. Service was good and friendly. Definitely recommend this place.
Delicious food and great service. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice and clean.
the food is delicious, and Cristofher the waiter is the best. He has the best energy
The food was really tasty
Beef bourgiugnon. Really good, as others noted, very hearty, def. will get again. No to the cubano, avg sandwich... how about we dont call cubano something that uses panini bread, has little cheese and is untoasted... bit disappointing
Good service and food options
Very tasty. I enjoyed the After School Special.
Their house red was fantastic and the shepherd pie was the absolute highlight of my day. Love the atmosphere and strongly recommend!
When in need of comfort food....this is the place to go and leave not feeling like you have stuffed yourself. Delicious food with great portion sizes! The Brie Fondue was delicious with a garlic flavor that didnt overpower the light cheese.
Excellent service, well served portion. Great place for those looking for comfy food
Had the cubano, its a good size and flavorful, the chips that come with it were very few.
Food was delicious, Drink prices a lil insane... not a place to drink the night away. Pic: shepards pie (so yummy)
Great Mac n cheese
Ive been to burgoo many times, tho think this might be my last. Years ago I remember taking home meals and leaving full. Today, $14.5 ($16.70 if ordered online) gets you just 6 wings, both inflation and shrinkflation at the same time. Atmosphere is unpretentious and nice (I like the real candles), service is generally good. Even so, giving half orders of wings for $14.5 without warning is outrageous.
When it comes to comfort food, Burgoo is the place to be. Theyve got multiple locations in Vancouver: one near UBC, one in downtown Vancouver, and one on Main Street.
Fun place with good food. Only tried the Gambas and French Onions Soup - both were delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. Had a good time.
Had the pulled pork sandwich, very good, not a lot of food for the cost but tasty and not a bad value due to the taste.
The butter chicken was great!
Such yummy bread, Mac and cheese, salad and tomato soup and amazing service
Have been here a few times and its usually good. This time the food was room temperature, the popcorn shrimp was especially stale and chewy. I think our food had been sitting for a while before it was served to us. We complained after and got a quick apology, but still pretty disappointed.
Had the ribs and salmon salad. Terrific. Was very pleased with the flavor and quality of the ingredients. Delicious. Followed it up the banana pudding dessert and washed down the meal with a couple of cocktails. Very pleased.
We just stopped in close to closing for an after dinner drink and desert. Nice little surprise! Our Spanish coffee was perfect and desert was flavorful and scrumptious! Service was also wonderful Food
Amazing food and an equally awesome server~ Will definitely be back soon! Food : 5/5
Tasty sandwich best onion soup in vancouver
Good food in general but the sandwiches can be greasy and the kale ceasar is really pathetic- it s literally kale and dressing, no pizazz, not softened, nor does it contain croutons or anything making the price worth it. They could do better, don t recommend it. Great service.
Im not sure if the staff was having a bad day or if they usually treat customers like that, but they had a really rude vibe the entire time. Which I would understand if they were super busy but but there was like one or two other tables. Skinny white girl with dark hair needs a career change. Food was alright at best.
Great food! Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich, beef bourguignon and peirogi!
order from the HH menuz popcorn shrimp batter is so hard , mini corn dog is so soft, feel like they microwave it. chip and dip is so chewy and tasteless. wont come back again
Servers were non existant, took way to long to get sat as well order taken...even longer for food which was over priced and pretty bland . They were not busy at all ? Oh wait yes there were two tables with male patrons...sorry we werent the right gender for you to provide any kind of service.
Traumatizing. Went with a few friends, waited one hour for our food. One persons food was literally cold. Smoked Salmon Salad literally tasted like canned, dry salmon. Price was not cheap, couldve got way better food at that price in Vancouver. Disappointing.
I have never written a review in my life but after dining here I felt compelled to write one. Long story short, do not come here unless you want to spend money on bad service and food. We waited over an hour to get our food, when the restaurant was empty. For the first half hour, the server was no where to be found and we never got our water refilled. When the food came, it was almost laughable. Food was cold, and the smoked salmon from the salad looked like dried up salmon jerky. It was barely edible. We were all excited to leave but even getting the bill took forever. The price we paid was outrageous given the food and service we received. I have no idea why this place has such high ratings. This was probably the worst dining experience I had in my life. I honestly would have been happier getting McDonalds.
Visited Burgoo Bistro in Vancouver and was thoroughly impressed. The serving sizes are generous, ensuring you leave with a satisfied appetite. The food tastes exceptional, complemented by a delightful atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality meals in a cozy setting.
Great little place. Had great French Onion soup and Grilled Cheese.
Fantastic
Such a nice place and I loved the beef Bourguignon
First time in and we loved it! Clean & inviting, delicious food, friendly & attentive staff, reasonable prices. Thank you!
Food was simple. I got the small mac and cheese, and a small smoked salmon salad (it comes shredded and its dry, very similar to tinned tuna !), and it was sufficiently filling. Nothing fancy but does the job. Relatively busy spot and service was friendly. Overall, I d recommend this for a very casual meal.
Best french onion soup ever!
Do not eat here. The staff were terribly rude
Been here three times now and it is consistent with service, food and atmosphere. Very clean, hearty meals that truly fill you up. Highly recommend the After lunch special. The best tomato soup I have ever had.
Was here for work and had their carnitas mac and cheese. Absolutely delicious and person was just the right size. Price is good and friendly environment. I forgot to get a receipt and went back the next day to ask if they could print a new one and they took the time to do so, which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend this place if you re in the area, five stars for all aspects of the restaurant!
I ve always like Burgoo it has the feeling your at home with comfort food and just a relax dine in experience.
Service is on average astoundingly slow, been ignored here for 15-25 mins at a time after arriving and then subsequently for the same periods after, but great food and nice staff.
A woman had her phone on speaker on a call for 20 min. Ruined the atmosphere.
Ordered the mango margarita, beef bourgnion, ementale fondue, side kale caeser, and the banana bread pudding for dessert. Everything was fantastic. Service was great. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Will come again soon! Thank you!
Great food!
Food was delicious & service incredible. Friendly staff, great music, I am coming back as often as I visit the city
Great little place to eat comfort food. Clean, fast service and good food. Ate a sunset corn and chicken bowl of soup. Great blend of Chipotle and various seasonings.
Super comfort food. Good service and good value
The Diablo is probably the best grilled cheese Ive ever eaten.
Tomato soup was awesome
This place is consistently good across locations I always get the after lunch special with either the cheesy dippers or el Cubano with the sunset chicken and corn soup. So good !!!
The grilled bikini is amazing
Very friendly service. Great food. Highly recommend the grilled cheese.
Great Service...super good spicy Caesar cocktail.....loved to chorizo grilled cheese..beef bourigon..appy wings great flavor. Lots of good flavour in everything. Nice surprise for great dinner.
Downright excellent sandwiches and tomato soup, good for the soul and easy on the wallet. Well trained and polite staff also add to the pleasant experience.
Awesome service, amazing food!!
Service was fine, it wasnt too busy had the grilled cheese and soup. The tomato soup wasnt tasty to me but the grilled cheese was yummy.
The best grilled cheese and tomato soup ever! Worth the stop! Still my favourite meal at Burgoos!
We ate here while visiting Vancouver in October. We were at the downtown location. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and has a very cozy atmosphere Limited capacity so make a reservation. Great spot for lunch.
I was there for happy hour, no food was on the happy hour menu and not a big difference in the price of the drinks. Staff are very helpful and nice. It s a huge restaurant with lots of corners, which is great. I tried tomato soup and I love it! So tasty and mouthwatering. However, to me the portion of the soup, regarding the price (20$), was too small. Soup is served with 2 big pieces of cheese grilled.
it looks good, but doesn t taste good. not worth the money. grilled cheese doesn t have any flavors, I guess it s because of the bad quality of cheese
Excellent place to grab some lunch! I was strolling around the area and I came across this restaurant. They have various sandwiches, sides, and starters to try. I ve had the gooey cheese grilled sandwich and boy that is something! Definitely recommend!
Food is pretty good but honestly it s not worth the price. Drinks are waaaay over priced. It shouldn t cost almost 40$ to get a soup and sandwich.
Great casual comfort food & atmosphere, with exceptional service. Mac n cheese with pulled pork & Shepherd s pie were amazing especially in the cold rainy weather.
Went here with a friend. Service was minimal. Food was edible.
Food was not worth what we paid. Not worth even half... We ordered 3 different dishes and they were all pretty bad. The staff werent friendly. If someone says hi/bye - say it back
Shepards Pie and Mac & Cheese were excellent. Great service. This location is a bit quieter, which is also nice. Upgraded to five stars.
Shepards pie is decent
We found this place randomly on Google Maps. Did not expect great food but wow we were surprised! Amazing food and not too busy either. We had the chicken and corn soup, the mac and cheese and the one of the sandwiches and they were all delicious! Definitely recommend this place!
Amazing Service! Great food Amazing soup and Grilled Cheese sandwiches!! 100% Recommended!!
Super impressed with the beef bourguignon and the chicken pot pie. Sour cherry cheesecake is divinely good. Very good staff and good vibes.
Cozy little spot. Great drink options. Menu could be expanded
Worst place ever to eat.
The eggplant sandwich is damn good.
Wonderful comfort food.
OMG the mushroom soup and the grilled cheese are you freeking kidding me, Im drooling just remembering how good it was, great ambiance and cocktails
The neglect by the server was palpable: Natassja attended adjacent table four times without checking in with us. Beef bourguinon: bacon overpowered the dish. Brussels sprouts: decent, heavy on bacon. Gooey grilled cheese: decent, paltry potato chips detracted from the dish. Free house bread (garlic butter baguette) pretty good. Service fail for a downtown restaurant on Saturday night.
Good food at reasonable price.
Burgoo, interesting name but I think thats just to get people through the door. wasnt very busy when we went, the food was very fast and it was probably the best chicken pot pie Ive ever had. P.s also good quality napkins, I dont usually review the napkins but they were qood quality napkins!
