Belgard Kitchen is the restaurant component of the ’Vancouver Urban’ Brand Collective, alongside siblings Vancouver Urban Winery, Van Urban Cider, and Van Urban Beer Co. Inspired by fresh ingredients and local producers, our food menus highlight Canadian ingredients from east to west while taking influence from techniques across the globe, while our drink menus showcase BC wines and craft beer & cider made in house. Open daily, we offer weekday lunch and Happy Hour, weekend brunch, and dinner seven nights a week. We love to celebrate! We host full restaurant buy outs for larger groups & events, while our mezzanine and alcove spaces are ideal for intimate occasions & private dining any day of the week.
This restaurant is nestled inside a charming wooden-bunker-style building, where they brew their own house beer. The menu offers a variety of dishes, although it may not be extensive, but it’s well-curated and the food is generally good, with a taste that’s above average. It’s a great place for a date night.
Everything was absolutely amazing. We tried their tasting menu and every single dish was such a hit! Great selection of drinks as well. Nothing bad to say about this place. Thank you to their amazing chef!
This place is probably the most underrated place for brunch in Vancouver. Maybe because of where it’s located, it’s less busy than it ought to be. Came here on a Sunday at 10:45am and was shocked to find lots of open tables for brunch. The food was spectacular - good portions, very tasty, and both the pace and service were excellent. I loved that the quality of the food was on par with high end restaurants but the vibe of the place was casual and unpretentious. I think it took us a while to try this restaurant because of the location - we like to transit and walk typically but we were driving some friends over to Gastown for the morning and so we stopped by for our first time. All to say - I would definitely drive again to dine at Belgard Kitchen again soon. It’s hard to be surprised by good food when Vancouver is so full of good eats, and I was happy to be pleasantly surprised.
We opened the tall giant double doors and entered the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and European like, very welcoming. We got seated to our reserved table. Our waiter was great and friendly.. our food and drinks came quick. We enjoyed our time there with some lovely drinks and delicious food. Happy hour too!!! It was a pleasure experience. Will try to go back again.
Great atmosphere the moment you walk in. This brunch spot is an excellent place to hit up in Vancouver for delicious eats. We ordered from the brunch set menu and tried a few dishes. The avocado toast was good. Nice portions of avocado and not too spicy at all. Very fresh and tasty. The sangrias were great. The Belgard bacon was really tasty as well. Love the pork belly had a really nice caramel glaze to it. The salmon gravlax was also quite good, tasty, and had a nice beet puree. Finally the Benny, not so classic, but has a cornbread bottom to it. The ham was quite good. Overall, I really liked Belgard. Excellent brunch options and nice fresh portions. There’s plenty of parking around but it is in a sketchy neighbourhood so that would be my only downside to the place, otherwise, it was overall quite excellent. Will come back again for brunch, I was very delighted.
The brunch here is fabulous! The Blueberry French Toast is delicious, is it brunch is it dessert, does it matter?! Even though it's under staters & shares it could easily be a meal in itself, but it's so much better if you share it with your dining companions, you'll be the favourite person at the table! The Polenta skillet was equally wonderful. I would highly suggest if you want to make it a little heartier add their house made Chorizo & thank me later! I love the decor, lots of wood & metals very industrial meets old world. The service is friendly & attentive. I didn't catch the person's name, but at the end of our meal they came over & talked to us for a bit, told us a bit of the history behind the place & let us know that they have a tasting menu at dinner time that is server led & can be curated to your taste. Current price is $65/person for 4-6 courses. I've had the pleasure of dining out at some wonderful eateries lately & Belgard is definitely one of my favourites! @inspiringfoodie
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food. I like that they offer different types of wine flights, and their happy hour food was very reasonable considering the portion size. Each dish was only $12! The only downside is the location, as it doesn't seem very safe or clean.
Incredibly impressed with this place!!! Went for their $55 pp dine out menu and tacked on beverages as well. The food was excellent and very well presented for the large portion sizes. We were even surprised with a free bonus appetizer and glass of bubbly each! My partner enjoyed his beer flight and I loved my wine flight - all local selections. So happy to see you could choose to have just whites and roses in the flight, and they even swapped one wine out for a sweeter one for me. Great ambiance (very Canadian/upscale brewery vibes) and service was great from the second we stepped through the doors. I felt bad being the last ones there, but they didn't make us feel rushed at all. Would go back in a heartbeat! Update: can confirm that their brunch is also fantastic!
Give the tasting menu a try - it s a great way to dine here. Really enjoyed my first visit.
Came here with a work group for lunch: - pizzas were great (sauce is sweet) - drinks were great - one person wished there were fries with burger instead of popcorn - the poke bowl is kinda small - focaccia as a starter was very nice - the tomato soup was very nice - grilled cheese could have more cheese They accommodate dietary restrictions very well! Thank you for a great lunch!
Great food and service.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service!
Great place to meet friends, the perfect date
A very nice place with good food and atmosphere and friendly.
Service was great, friendly and professional.
Although the walk to the restaurant was abit sketchy with junkies everywhere on the rainy night , the ambiance was warm and cozy. Loved the interior design especially the barrels. The food was delicious and that Belgard sangria was amazing .
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Our party of six, including two friends visiting from Seattle, had a truly memorable experience at The Belgard Kitchen. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a wonderful evening. What truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional customer service provided by our server, Alysha. Her knowledge of the menu, wine, and drink pairings was impressive, and she took the time to recommend dishes that catered to our preferences. Her attentiveness and genuine care for our experience made us feel valued and added to the overall enjoyment of the night. The food at The Belgard Kitchen was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, presented beautifully, and tasted even better than it looked. The drink menu also deserves a special mention, as it features an excellent selection of beer and wine flights, each labeled with the type of beverage youre enjoying. This made it easy for us to explore a variety of local flavors and find new favorites. Combined with the fantastic service and ambiance, its safe to say that our time at The Belgard Kitchen was truly unforgettable. If youre looking for a dining experience with delicious food, outstanding service, and a fantastic drink selection, look no further than The Belgard Kitchen. Be sure to ask for Alysha as your server - her dedication to providing excellent customer service will make your visit all the more memorable!
Beautiful space and wonderful food and service. I m looking forward to going again.
In the most unlikely of areas of Vancouver youll find this bright light of a place. We go here every time we are in the area. The menu always changes and its always excellent.
Friendly, attentive
Great
My favourite restaurant in vancouver. Unique space amazing food and great atmosphere. Perfect for any occasion. Sketchy neighborhood but it is what it is. Highly recommend it to everyone I know.
One of the best mimosa flight I ever had , and we ordered Belgard bacon ,Benedict and Chorizo Hash. The bacon was not taste too oily and great seasoning with maple and bit of sugar, the chorizo is really juicy and flavorful.
The food is excellent, the decoration is refined and the atmosphere is pleasant. The best cappuccino! The staff is also very friendly.
The Steak Sandwich was great but the popcorn that came with it was a little stale. My friend ordered the Belgard Burger which could ve had a bit more flavours; the salad that came with it tasted more lemony than vinegary. But the atmosphere was amazing!
The brie wellington is crazy good. Pizzas are good too.
Surprisingly great atmosphere. We tried their pastas (gnocchi and Nero spaghetti) and both were fantastic!
Beautiful location with delicious beers and great service. Unfortunately the location is a little sketchy
I can t help but absolutely love this place. I was here for a private event some time ago, and I was truly blown away by the food they served. We had mushroom risotto, sablefish, yam gnocchi and every dish was crafted with such care and attention to detail, cooked to absolute perfection. From the presentation to the flavors, everything was spot on, making it an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere only added to the charm, and I ve been thinking about it ever since!
Had brunch today and the food was awesome, service impeccable & lovely atmosphere including great decor and such a beautiful space.
very good food
Always an excellent experience. Very cool building with impressive industrial but warm ambiance. The food was excellent as always; my boyfriend and I shared a few appies and are looking forward to doing a wine flight and/or brunch here next! Easy parking which is a bonus too!
The restaurant is an extraordinary environment. As a guy that appreciates the amount of work that it takes to maintain converting an old building into something that is converted into a modern industrial, rustic environment, they did a fantastic job. The food was incredible and the staff was fantastic as well. We also had a note when we made the reservation that it was our anniversary and we were greeted with sparking white wine and a congratulations. A very nice touch of customer service, well done. I would recommend driving until the city decides to clean up the homeless population in the area.
Very very very over priced! Add insult to injury they have a non optional 20% gratuity added without your consent. The waitress told us that it was for the servers protection and that she would only receive 10% of the 20% that her employer basically stole from us. Tips are not supposed to supplement the employers obligation of a fair wage, especially insulting when they are so over priced!
This place is fantastic!! The service is phenomenal and the manager here is awesome!! Food is fantastic n so are the drinks!! We got the focaccia, the Spanish prawns, the double duck flatbread and it was all scrumptious!!
The Belgard Kitchen is perfect for holding lunch client meetings. They have a table of 8 people which is surround by wine barrels and is quite private. I call it my Board Room table. Every client that I have hosted at the Belgard has loved it. The table is always ready when we arrive and we are seated immediately. Last time that I held a meeting there, the server, AM Bar, was wonderful and funny. He gave recommendations on the menu, which were appreciated. The food was prompt, hot, tasty and very enjoyable. At the end of the lunch meeting, my guests commented that they would return to the Belgard with their spouses. When we left, the manager thanked us. Overall a wonderful experience and meal. Thanks Belgard Kitchen!
The bartender Jayden was exceptional in service and bartending. He made me the beat espresso martini ever! He recommended the lamb gnocchi and it was 10/10 delicious. Will be back soon for more!
Cool spot in Railtown that has a large dining area and full serve kitchen. Though I m saddened to hear they are shutting down their brewery in the near future. The food is solid, comes fairly quick, despite a smaller kitchen, and has a variety of foods available. The weekly features are also a nice way to keep regulars coming in to try new things. Also, their popcorn is delicious and usually always has some cool seasoning to it. I personally like the sweet honey one that they had in the past. Overall, a cool place to grab a bite and a drink, whether on a date, with friends, or with coworkers - chill vibe with friendly service.
Great restaurants. The staff was friendly, the food was great and reasonably priced, and the drinks were fun. We were worried about the location being in an unsafe part of downtown, but the atmosphere inside was worth it.
First time dining at this restaurant. I thought the dining space had a unique decor that was enjoyable to dine in. I can imagine hosting a social event at a restaurant like this one. The person who greeted us at the door was friendly and the food we had was quite tasty as well. The only constructive feedback I d have would be regarding what we d like to believe was the bartender that was serving us. She gave a very intense vibe when serving us and honestly made the experience quite awkward when ever she d come by. The other servers seemed to be much more approachable and easier to talk to. Otherwise everything else about the experience was enjoyable and would recommend to others.
Really good tasting menu, the surprises were exactly what I needed! Huge space & Vesper Martinis on tap! Great Gem Food : 5/5
Cozy boozy brunch. Really good dishes and the place was nice.
Staff, food, and drinks are exquisite. Absolutely beautiful
We specifically chose Belgard as we were looking for a more upscale brunch option. I m vegan and thought the avocado toast and potatoes would have be a great option, usually I have to modify the regular dish such as removing the egg/cheese/bacon etc. but still have to pay the same. We were heading to the rose disco at the PNE so wanted to line the stomach before we went, but sadly that didn t happen as the Avo toast was tiny, and I couldn t order the potatoes as they are pre-made with cheese. It was super disappointing as I literally checked every menu in the city for a higher scale brunch option. And this was one of the only options I could find. Perhaps if you re not going to offer what guests may consider regular breakfast potatoes you should write the description in the menu so we know ahead of time. I even made a comment that I was vegan in the reservation notes. Jillian s service was great but I m sad to say I left hungry and disappointed. My friend ordered the breakfast wrap and it was also disappointing, it s 90% bread with a little bacon, arugula and an egg. She was also not impressed. You used to have great vegan options, with cashew cheese flatbreads etc. I miss those days! Dietary restrictions: Don t cater for vegan options
We hosted our wedding reception at the Belgard Kitchen a few months after our elopement. Cait, as our coordinator, was so organized and communicative. She helped us work through all of the details and pulled together such a perfect event for us and our guests. Of note, she was always incredibly calm and treated every request we made as important and made it look easy to deliver. The entire team at the Belgard was incredibly professional. My husband and I felt so taken care of through the planning process, for an out-of-this-world menu tasting in advance, and the evening. Our guests kept talking about how amazing the food and service was the entire night and for days after. The Belgard delivered exactly what we wanted: a warm atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and incredibly delicious food. (They also accommodated all dietary restrictions without any stress).
Loved everything the place is one of those hidden gems of Vancouver 100% recommend to visit!!!
Food was lovely and perfect sizing. The waiter was very knowledgeable and answered my questions. Atmosphere was cosy.
Been here twice, very delicious brunch menu. Must visit if you are a food lover and like to explore unique menu offerings.
Incredible place for brunch. Light and airy with the beautiful skylights and the 15 foot wooden doors. The staff was friendly and the food excellent. Great place to get out of downtown for a while.
Large space and lots of food options. Drink selection is great - used to be better when urban winery and settlement brewing were still operating out of the same building. Fresh sheets are great rotational specials that always offer a nice surprise during our visits.
I ordered Steak&Eggs which didn t have much flavour, two mini potatoes and a sad looking salad. My partner ordered chorizo skillet, which had more flavour. Both had very dry bread! You can t charge extra for bread and give a few days old bread! Portions are on the smaller side too.. the facility itself was pretty darn cool. Might go back for the drinks, but not the food:(
The food and dessert was phenomenal. A fantastic date spot.
Belgard is located in Chinatown. I do not recommend walking in the area by yourself at night. Food was good, service was okay. The server just got back from being away from work for two weeks, so the server had to ask someone else what are some recommendations between different dishes we were wanting to try. Atmosphere is mostly rustic. I recommend visiting California , USA for rustic-atmosphere restaurants.
The day after has taken on a totally different meaning. Were savoring the magic we found behind the massive wooden doors of Belgard Kitchen. Our beet salad, pesto duck rigatoni, bison Bolognese lasagna, and Banoffey pie as well as Corcelettes Merlot and Lime craft beer were all insanely delicious. The hospitality and experience were top notch thanks to our head server, Stephanie and the manager Brian. They were totally fun, knowledgeable, and attentive. We left with huge smiles on our faces. Belgard Kitchen is a hidden gem waiting for your discovery!
Good food, good beer. highly recommend happy hour. also props to the excellent service - my server chased me down 3 blocks to bring me my sweater I left behind!
Beautiful venue and their menu is very well designed. Servers are also very knowledgeable and friendly.
Service ,food and atmosphere was amazing! Location is in a not so great neighborhood but if you Uber in and out not a problem. Well worth going for friendly service and great food.
I went there on Tuesday dinner time. It was not busy day, also not busy time. Food was good but it was very small portion and really expensive. I was going to celebrate my friends birthday. Before I went this restaurant, I booked here online and I also called I will going to bring a birthday cake for him, so please bring it when we finished eating. I actually called them twice. However, after we ate dinner, the server didnt bring us the cake. She told me I didnt know that you had a cake and no one shared your information . I was really disappointed their service. Why you guys didnt share customers information before they come!?!?!??!?!?!? Ill never visit here anymore.
The food was absolutely delicious, featuring local and unique ingredients in each dish. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making the experience even better. This place is a hidden gem, and I will definitely return the next time Im in town.
Our visit coincided with the seasonal changeover of the tasting menu. We decided to give it a go and we were very pleased. A interesting array of flavours, textures, and ingredients ensured the courses had nice variety. A matched wine pairing would have been a nice option, but Taylor (great server) suggested their whites/reds flight as it would cover many of the options for pairing. Enjoyed the experience and the food.
There are a few great things about this restaurant. The people, so friendly, fun and attentive to your every need. The food- amazing. Lovely flavours, gorgeous sauces made in house, smoked beet salad, amazing. I love the sensitivity they have for great flavours with simple ingredients. The other thing I love is the atmosphere. This industrial space has been transformed into a cozy, beautiful room with a huge stone fireplace, wrought iron and lots of wood features.
We always have a great time when were here and the food and service is always on par!
love this spot for brunch, dinner or events. Such a vibe. Our service was top notch and their buffalo lasagne was top tier.
From start to finish, the friendly and professional staff made my evening snack then brunch the following day such a delight. The smoked eggplant was delicious and, for brunch the polenta with egg and avocado was full of flavours! Plenty of great options on the menu. Thank you Belgard Kitchen
Top marks for unique and robust flavours, great vegetarian options too. Historical building. Easy parking and just far enough away from some challenged parts of the city to feel family friendly.
The pork belly and the blueberry pancakes live up to the hype. Some reviews I read prior threw shade at the service here. It seems they made improvement in that area a priority because my experience was impeccable. Everyone was very kind and attentive. The space is a little smaller than you might think, but that makes the experience feel more personal. I loved the open concept, high ceilings, and mixed use of the space. Modern, chic, barn. The surrounding area is a little sketchy, so I probably wouldnt walk there when its dark, but I would be happy to go back to try other things on the menu.
It s a fantastic restaurant on the outskirts of downtown with amazing atmosphere and great food. They are right next to Pallet coffee roasters so you also know that you re getting quality coffee for brunch. We got the blueberry French toast which was sweet, and rich, with smoked brisket Benny and the salmon gravlax. I highly recommend that you get burrata cheese addition with the salmon because it really adds a lot to the dish. They have great portions so you ll definitely fill up. I felt that that price was fair given the quality of the food, the amazing atmosphere and friendly service. I ll definitely be back for future brunches!
An air of casual with outstanding non-pretentious food options. Wine list is only BC wines.
The place is beautiful and the food is amazing but unfortunately the service is horrible. My first time there I had constant issues with delays, no cutlery after the food was on the table, drinks seating on the bar for 15 minutes. Decided to give another chance today and wasted 2 hours of my morning. Food didn t come at all, staff didn t take responsibility for forgetting the order. After an hour wait, they came to table to tell that something was sold out, another 35 minutes and no food for anyone on the table. Unfortunately left the place and had to go somewhere else.
The food was delicious, and the high ceilings created a very cozy atmosphere. However, I gave three stars for the service because the server brought the bill without asking. It was my brothers birthday, and we had planned to order something from the dessert menu, but since she decided for us to leave before we were done, we paid the bill and left the restaurant. I don`t like when the restaurants do these kind of things. I found it disrespectful.
We chose the Belgard to host our engagement party and we couldnt have made a better decision! The space is beautiful with high exposed ceilings oozing character and charm. Every detail of the menu seemed to be meticulously thought out to cater to everyones preferences and diets. Wine list is great and so is the beer! And the people working there even better. The organization of our event from start to finish was very easy to communicate with staff to make sure everything turned out perfect... and it did!
Had such a great experience here, will definitely be returning.
Thanks to Bree and the other staff for excellent drinks and lunch.
I tried their 3 course meal deal for $55 which is worth the price for what you get. You can try the wine flight and try more items from their selection. The food was fantastic, very tasty with nice touches. Parking: There is a free street parking available Wheelchair accessibility: There are some steps after the entrance
Nice place for dinner with friends
This is not only the first time I have been to this restaurant. I love the environment here. The craft beers. The delicious food. Favorite their Brussels Sprouts. Tomato Soup Fondue. Roasted Mushroom + Bacon Pizzettes. Charcuterie & Cheese Board. Finally, a Black Cardamom Chocolate Cake. Satisfied
Been here loads of time and I still enjoy coming back. Their food and service are consistant so I ll probably be back again!
We came for dinner tonight and we were greeted by Ryan who made us feel incredibly welcome. We were seated quickly and Ryan made sure we had a drink order in right away, and even introduced us to our server for the evening, Adam, by name. Jayden, the bartender came over with our drinks and was delightful and personable. The food was fantastic, the drinks were great, and overall phenomenal service. I highly recommend!
The food was good , service is good , the place was nice but why I m giving it a 2 star is that their was six of us and they did mandatory 20% gratuity on our bill at the end AFTER TAXES. There s nowhere on the menu or website that says it s a 20% gratuity and it was only six not eight or more people.
Im actually going to give a score of 5 stars (+1). The extra star is for providing a birthday meal without a misstep. The food was phenomenal, the service from Taylor was friendly, personal and relaxed. We chose the prix fixe menu which is an absolute bargain. Every course was a revelation. The depth and complexity of the flavours, from the simple bacon & mushroom toast to the usually unsurprising smoked brisket, were out of this world. Thank you... for making my birthday meal a special one.
Such a nice place! We were walking around in the downtown East side and passed by this beautiful design building! Really wanted to check it out but someone think it s too early! So we missed the happy hour During dinner time we finally walked in and checked around the place! People are having a small wedding ceremony in the upper area and it was so nice! Sunshine came in from the window from the top onto our food, it was absolutely one of the best meal other than Asian food we had after landed Vancouver We ordered double duck pizza which was absolutely amazing! Would give 4.7/5 and will definitely go back for it! Squid ink noodle pasta was really yummy too! Will definitely go back for more celebration moments!
The environment is beautiful. Very well decorated and the chairs are nice. I ordered a polenta dish at brunch that was extremely spicy. I struggled to eat it. I couldnt taste anything else in the dish because the pepper was so strong in the sauce. I also ordered the Belgard coffee and honestly found it quite bland. The espresso was good. We were attended to by Taylor. The place wasnt full but she served us as if she was in a hurry so we could order quickly and leave. We have lived in Vancouver for at least 3 years. We are used to the North American way of wanting to make the tables turn quickly, but she made a point of making this very evident in the way she spoke to us. The hostess (Esther) was very friendly.
Had my birthday dinner here, there was 16 of us and we had the tasting menu which was served family-style. The food was AMAZING, great drink selection and great service. They are really good with big groups, the food was paced properly and they were so quick with drink orders. Highly recommend for a large group!
Stumbled upon this place while going for a jog and can t wait to go back. The tasting menu is the way to go but we decided on something smaller, the beats and Margherita Pizzette. By far the best beets I ve had had a ton of flavours that paired perfectly together. Shoutout to Ryan for the awesome recommendations as well as explaining the menu and rich history of the building the restaurant was in. Jay our server also made us some incredible drinks and also very knowledgeable with the menu. Belgard has some of the best house wines my partner and I have had the pleasure of tasting. We ended up buying a bottle which got us a 10% discount on our dinner. For dessert we got a taste of the brown butter icecream. Never had that flavour and it s now one of my favourites. We plan on coming back here as soon as possible.
Im a frequent happy-hour visitor but celebrated my baby brunch (shower) there on a Saturday afternoon in the mezzanine. The space is beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was awesome. It s the perfect space if you re looking for something intimate and beautiful!
Fabulous spot. Amazing food. Great ambience.
Absolutely loved the aesthetic of this place!! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! I just came across this place randomly because I was doing something nearby. Brunch menu looked so good and I ended up getting the smoked salmon gravlax - it was refreshing and I would come back again to try their other dishes from the regular menu
Both good food and atmot. My first time there with friends and I really liked it. I want to go back and try the pasta. We tried small dishes.
The three of us had the evening tasting menu & it was outstanding. Wagyu carpaccio, Belgrade Beets for starters, Smoked Brisket, Steelhead for the main courses and Black cardamom chocolate, pumpkin cheese cake, for dessert. They were good size portions & very delicious. We were also served as compliments, a pre starter & a starter drink, even though we ordered beer from the menu. Generous of the restaurant to do that. Our main hostess, Asma took very good care of us, in fact, the whole staff were very hospital. Overall, it was a wonderful evening. We ll be visiting again.
We had such a wonderful evening @ Belgard Kitchen - wonderful service and delicious food every single time. Truly a gem in this neighbourhood!
I love their cider food is also amazing!
BEST DINNER EVER! I can confidently give this place 5 stars. If I was at the level, I d give it a Michelin star no exaggeration. Went in for the first time ever tonight and from the moment we stepped through the door, the energy of all staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant was captivating. We started off with the baked Brie (probably the best I ve ever had and I ve had more than 50 types). Words can t describe it. We got the $55 set menu, and when I tell you this was a $110 menu value- EASY- you will be missing out to not get this. You start with a decadent tasting bubbles and amuse Bouche (2 bite), and move on to appetizers, dinner, then dessert. This was literally the best dinner I have ever been to, EVER. As a chef who has eaten at some of the finest restaurants in BC, let alone the Middle East, parts of USA and some of South America, I can tell you this is the best quality food you ll get at the price you re getting it at. Look at the photos below, you might be able to taste the love they put into each dish. EAT AT BELGARD!! YOU WON T REGRET IT
The atmosphere is fantastic, hip but tasteful. You can dress up or down. Casual or done up, it goes. The service is great, the food is fantastic too. The roasted mushroom and bacon pizza was very tasty. Breakfast is also great!
Went for the dine out menu. The food was amazing. Jillian was a great server. Would definitely come back.
One of the best dining experiences of the year. Price was amazing for what you get. Amazing staff, amazing atmosphere. Might just be my new favorite spot in the city.
Visited this restaurant for our anniversary dinner whilst visiting from Australia. By far the best restaurant I have been to in a long time. We could not fault a single thing from the atmosphere to the food and service. All the food and drinks were both visually appealing and tasted even better! Staff were very welcoming and we didn t have to wait for service at all throughout the night. The ambience was outstanding and as the night went on the venue was candle lit which was magical. Food and drinks were super affordable, we recommend heading there during their happy hour and trying to Tomato soup fondue and Pizzettes . Perfect venue for literally any occasion!!!
Went here for dine-out brunch. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, but the service was horrendous. Everything took way longer than it should have to arrive, including 20 minutes to get my drip coffee after having placed my order. In addition to providing terrible service, our waitress also had a bit of an attitude. I want to go back for the food but Im wary because of the service.
Dine out 2024 brunch Your average hipster brunch in a factory-like restaurant. Great decor and extremely high ceiling. Very noisy inside though. The pork belly was great and stood out. Other menu items claim to be unconventional but taste generic, although still good quality.
Duck pizza is to die for. The flight of beer was amazing the place is beautiful but in an unassuming area. Must go. Went back. Brussel sprouts, mushroom pizza,.charcuterie, drinks, carpacio, service were impeccable.
Very good restaurant located in a shady area of east Vancouver!
The food is phenomenal. The staff is super warm, friendly and helpful. We ordered the double duck pizza and my friend cannot eat jalapeño, we told the waitress and they made sure to not add it. The AAA flat iron steak is amazing, you can taste the quality of the meat and all the special ingredients. The atmosphere is great. In my opinion, their food is much better than ask for Luigi. Will come back again.
First, the atmosphere and the room are so impressive, beautiful space you wouldnt expect in this sketchy area. Then, staff was kind and recommendations on point (thanks to our server with her ? tattoo) . Finally, the food was great, for the price its def great value. We ordered several plates to share, as a vegetarian I was so pleased by the many options I had. Everything tasted great, well seasoned. A 10/10 evening. We dont go out often due to our crazy schedules, but when we do we want nothing but great experiences, and this was perfect
Great spot to eat and drink. Amazing Gluten Free options for someone with Ciliac. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free amazing.
Friendly staff, one-of-a-kind interior! Go for the wine flights.
Every time Ive come here the service has been excellent and the food has been great. The kitchen has been very kind with substitutions. I highly recommend the guava mimosa!
What a find, cant believe it took me this long to end up here. Fantastic value relative to other comparable places, looking forward to going back.
Very surprised at the atmosphere, menu and level of service, all excellent. I enjoyed a bowl sized cup of tomato soup, along with an ample poke bowl. The table sampled the menu all with smiles, look for the double duck. Food : 5/5
We loved everything: the ambience, service and food. Try squid ink noodles and smoked brisket. We loved both dishes very much. The prices are quite reasonable too. The design of the place is very nice. We will return.
The ambience and the decor of the place are really nice. Service was great too. The food was a 3 for me because my potatoes were not cooked. But the French toast was delicious. Decent prices too.
The staff are unbelievably rude here!!! They runed my meal with such bad service.
Great hidden gem behind East Van skid row. Servers and host are communicative and considerate. Food has a lot of flavor but not for those on a budget. Great brunch spot!
Came here for brunch and we were impressed! The place felt cozy! And the food was so good!! Will be back for sure!
Fantastic food and wines!
One of my all time favourites for brunch and if you re looking for a chill place to share drinks and appetizers with friends.
Good food served quickly
Really great food and a chill atmosphere. Could be a bit cheaper, but otherwise a pleasant experience.
Amazing spot. Good is so good and wonderful service. Gendered and non gendered bathrooms available. I had the wrap and it was great, especially the popcorn.
good cheese board appy
Such a great vibe, service, food and wine was superb!
The wagyu meatball is packed with flavors. The French toast is a bit underwhelming and too dense and sugary sweet. We got served with dirty plates at first which was expected. Brunch menu is not with many options.
I ve come here multiple times for lunch and brunch and they do an excellent job. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and speedy. Highly recommended!
Belgard Kitchen is one of my favourite spots in Vancouver! The outstanding food and friendly staff always make for a memorable experience. I love the wine flights, and the happy hour specials are definitely worth checking out. If youre planning to visit during peak hours or with a larger party, I recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. This is also a great spot for private events, we really appreciated the staff serving recommendations.
We booked the mezzanine for a party and from organizing the menu to the execution of the event, it was seamless. Our guests enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and drinks. Our server was top notch and the catering manager who helped set this all up was great with communication and answering my many questions. They had a reasonable minimum spend which our party easily reached so that s great. They also had a good selection of vegan options. Thanks for helping us celebrate with our friends!
The food was very delicious! Definitely would recommend this place if you haven t been, it is a little on the pricier side, but it was well worth it. Amazing wine and tap selection!
Only went for their on tap cocktails, they were delicious! We wanted to stay for food because the menu looked unreal. Will be back
Went for a brunch and was really disappointed. The ambience of the restaurant is great, service was ok. However, I got an avocado toast with burrata (burrata was for $6 extra charge) for $20 without tip and tax... This was part of their starter/shareable menu so I asked the server if it is enough for one person as a main, she said yes. The slice of bread was good but the portion was really small and this 1/4?? of burrata was definitely not worth the extra charge.. I was still hungry after this meal.. My friends got skillets which were apparently good but don t order the toast
Love the atmosphere and the service. Food is great too! Would definitely recommend
Really great find. We had a fun time before going to a punk rock show at The Rickshaw. Nice beer but the service from Jaden was the icing on the cake and the reason for 5 stars.
Great place to visit when in Vancouver. The location is a bit out of the way, but it was worth the Uber. Good selection, bacon appetizer was awesome, flight options are , very cool atmosphere.
Super nice restaurant that is hidden! Good food but it took forever to come out. Service was real decent but the wait staff kinda always missed us. Other than that, it was a good experience.
Laura was so friendly and really felt like she was invested in us having a good time. Food and cocktails were delicious. I m
We came here for a drink and snack after dinner . very cool place, not many selections or beer, but they have wine flights . The cauliflower was ok.
Absolutely shocked at the value and quality of cooking that came out of this place. My partner and I did the tasting menu here (which was only $55?!) and liked it a lot better than most places that would expect 3-4x the price. The service was warm and friendly. The cocktails were incredible. Go eat here.
I ordered myself and my co workers lunch from here. The Tuna Poke bowls are good but there is barely anything in there! 75% of the bowl contents are rice. We payed extra to add the ramen egg in the photo and if we hadnt it would just be rice and 6 small pieces of tuna. We were all a bit shocked. Love the restaurant atmosphere but wont order take out from here again.
Such a beautiful place they have! Doors, windows, high ceiling gorgeous! We came for brunch on Friday, there weren t that many tables do the vibe was a bit off. However, food was good and service was on point. Will come back for a dinner to try it one more time!
Great spot for beer, wine, cocktails and food in a beautiful heritage space!
Had a lovely family meal here. An intriguing place with a nice ambiance. Great beer and a fun and unusual menu.
Excellent atmosphere and food/drink. Walking to get there from the sea bus terminal was uncomfortable and questionable.
Gorgeous restaurant, and incredible food and drinks. I definitely recommend coming here. The menu is creative but comforting at the same time, and theres a great happy hour.
I love it s vibe and decoration. We just stopped for quick drinking. We had good time with chatting over beers. Food
Funky old building. They have 21 British Columbia wines by the glass. Also, a brewery serving a wide variety of beers. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Came to Belgard Kitchen to learn about their wine selection and the brewing. Location is close to Oppenheimer Park. Not a great part of town but once you step through their large wooden doors, youll be impressed with the decor and how open and bright everything is. Staff was friendly and helpful. We learned a lot about the different wines they carry. They also have a large selection of beers and cocktails on tap. Yes you read right, cocktails on tap! I cant recall any other place having that. Definite spot that should be on everyones bucket list to try out!
Very attractive place with great beer
Staff are friendly, a pretty good selection of IPA ,lager that is either brewed there or from a few other breweries in the Vancouver area. The Belgard Burger is a favorite choice to eat while dining in there. Suffered fire in kitchen (August 4, Friday), undergoing renovation currently!
A hidden gem Great atmosphere, delicious & unique food selection. We ve had dinner here a few times and never left disappointed. Vegetarian options: Cheese plate and roasted asparagus were great!
A haven in a very sketchy neighbourhood. Good selection of beer in taps and the atmossphere was laid back and the industrial setting was nice. They had food for lunch too but did not try this time.
Had a great experience at Belgard Kitchen. Great food, great service,
I just had my birthday here last weekend and had a wonderful experience! They were very helpful and informative when I was inquiring about a reservation, even though my planning quite last minute. Drink and food were also delicious! Throughout the night service was very helpful and attentive, overall a great experience that I would definitely recommend!
Everything here was delicious! We had a reservation for 7:15 on a Friday night. It took a while for our table to be ready but we were given a complimentary wine tasting while we waited so we were already off to a good start! If you haven t had a butter board before oh em gee you must try it here! This was my first butter board experience and I am hooked. The focaccia bread it was served with was perfection and the spread and toppings they used on top of the butter was the perfect combination! We shared it among 3 of us as a starter and found it to be the perfect appetizer amount although I would have loved to eat the whole thing myself! For our mains, we had the scallop risotto, duck duo and yam gnocchi w/ lamb ragu. I personally ordered the risotto but had a bit of my friends food as well. The duck duo was very good however the portion was a bit small for the price. The yam gnocchi was lacking for me and I probably wouldn t order it myself- the gnocchi was on the tougher side rather than fluffy and soft. However, the scallop risotto was a 10-10! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the number of scallops was generous and appropriate for the price. They offer a wide selection of beer and wines, and a few cocktails but I wish their cocktail menu was a bit more extensive. The atmosphere is also very cool! It s an old warehouse converted into a restaurant and is perfect for a date night/special night out or for something more casual. I ll definitely return and not hesitate to request Belgard to my friends.
Wow
We were 10 people and 2 children were there to celebrate birthdays, the staff were very attentive and friendly . Foods were amazing. Highly recommended. Parking: We parked on a free street parking. Kid-friendliness: They
Some of the best BC wine choices for affordable prices Ive had in Vancouver. Great big open space. Not too loud. Five stars baby
Very unique place. Just a heads up, dont let the neighborhood fool you as it is a little bit sketchy. The food is great and the atmosphere is very nice.
The food is fantastic, and the building is very nice. Had brunch and it was delicious.
Belgard Kitchen never disappoints when it comes to brunch (never been for diner though). The atmosphere is truly unique and adds to the overall charm of the place. I particularly enjoyed their mimosa flight, and their salmon benny has become a personal favorite of mine. Its a spot Ill keep coming back to for sure! Personal favourites: Food: Salmon Gravlax, Blueberry French toast Drinks: Bubbly Mimosa, Mimosa Flight, Cream of Earl Grey tea.
Food 4/5 lunch was good and dessert is great. Service 5/5 attentive and warm Ambiance 5/5 stunning & versatile space would be so cool for events. Go back: Yes
Had a really great Thanksgiving brunch. Good time!
This is a hidden gem. Love the room & and its history. Food was great!
Food was food
We frequently bring friends and family here because the food, atmosphere, and BC local wines are wonderful. The location is the only downside, it is a little out of the way but not too far a walk east of Gastown.
Having not visited Balgard since before COVID. I was eagerly looking forward to my return. As expected, the food was exceptional and presented beautifully, maintaining the high standard I have come to appreciate from Belgard Kitchen. However, I must admit that I was somewhat disappointed with the service during this visit. The service was notably slow, and my friend and I did not see our server as frequently as we would have liked. I appreciate that our server acknowledged this and admitted to not checking in with us as often as she would have preferred. I couldnt help but notice that it appeared the staff were more focused on catering to larger groups, possibly at the expense of smaller groups like couples. While I understand the importance of accommodating larger parties, its essential that all customers, regardless of group size, receive attentive and timely service. This experience will not deter me from returning to Balgard. However, I do intend to be more proactive in seeking attention for service when needed during my future visits. I believe in the quality of the food and the overall ambiance of Belgard Kitchen, and I hope that the service aspect can match that same level of excellence in the future.
We ordered the Thanksgiving Take Out. I now want to do this every year! It was extraordinarily delicious and such care and skill were used to prepare the dishes and instructions for home. We have never been in the actual resto for an in dining experience but the space is stunning and we are already figuring out when we can dine in. Thanks for the memorable thanksgiving without the stress
This is my new favorite place. Everything I ate was so delicious. Mushroom bacon toast (10/10) -Earthy, deep flavor, perfectly salty with the bacon, on the nose for each flavor profile. Focaccia with whipped herb butter (8/10) -Fresh and light, I just found the top a wee bit salty but just a touch, otherwise perfect Margarita flatbread (10/10) -Dough was perfection, sauce was not too acidic and was so fresh, burrata was creamy and delicate, basil was fresh, balsamic reduction was perfectly sweet to tie it all together. Salted caramel cheesecake with Elderflower sorbet (50/10) -Absolute perfection. If I could fit 4 portions in my stomach I would have. The cheesecake was light and fluffy, creamy and what dreams are made of. The sorbet was smooth and fresh, the best way to end the meal. Needless to say, any time I am in town, I will be here to eat, and I will bring anyone I come with to eat here.
Our favorite breakfast and romantic dinner spot in Vancouver so far! The chef who brought ordinary food to such tastes is a genius! Combining spices so well that they stay in your head for a long time is simply unsurpassed. Thank you for such a wonderful restaurant. You are incredibly comfortable and delicious!
Great food and experience.
I love the atmosphere and foods
This is the third time we ve gone there. Their veggie options for brunch are not that abundant, but the avocado toast with poached eggs is my favorite. The hash browns are crispy but a bit oily. Croque madame dish was also good. The atmosphere is cool for a brunch place.
Nice food, friendly staff, prices are reasonable.
I went for the best of Belgard menu option for dinner and it was delicious. $55 per person 3 course meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice with all of the barrels as decor and the lighting and candles were very nice for a romantic dinner. Our server was also lovely and knowledgeable. (Went Oct 30th 6:30pm wish I knew her name so I could give a shout out) Thank you Belgard Kitchen
Had a fantastic experience here, even though it s a repurposed old warehouse (I think?) it has a warm and cozy feel to it and the food was perfect. We were there for dinner and they have a $55 set menu. Might be seasonal, not sure but I ll definitely be coming back here. Probably one of the best set menu dinners I have ever had!
Amazing experience! Love the ambiance of this place! Glad I found this place super randomly!
Probably the most inept service at a restaurant that I have ever had in my life. I cant even talk about the food and drink because the terrible service is the only thing on my mind right now. Im actually gobsmacked at how poor the service was and that we had to pay an automatic 20% gratuity for it. Maybe its why the service was so terrible because he knew that regardless, we were going to have to pay the 20%. Wrong food orders, ordered drinks that never came, waiting and waiting for water bottle refills (when water was finally brought, he left the empty water bottles on the table... ???). We brought in a birthday cake (we asked beforehand if it was ok). He brought us plates, but no knife or forks for it. Then we sat and waited for our bill. And sat. And sat. And waited. I watched him stand around chatting with another employee. Finally, one of us had to get up and ask for the bill. I cant ever go back to the Belgard.
Belgard Kitchen exceeded my expectations, especially with the Japantown Ramen a pleasantly surprising and slightly spicy delight. The Tomato Soup Fondue was also a hit for me. The service was excellent, with attentive staff, and the atmosphere stood out as unique compared to other Vancouver restaurants. A thoughtful touch was receiving a postcard along with the bill, adding a nice touch to the overall experience. Highly recommended for a flavorful and distinctive dining experience!
Been going here 7 years for brunch. Recently been noticing that the quality is going down. They have recently taken off the menu their brunch spuds sides and instead replaced it with a greasy, oily, and fatty hashbrowns which doesn t taste as good, and isn t very good for you. I m not happy with this cost cutting, and wish they would bring back the real potatoes for brunch.
Very nice restaurant with high quality food and great service
Staff badmouthing regulars and neighbours is not a good look. Lose the attitude and be more aware of who is around you listening. Really ruined the atmosphere hearing servers talking to guests and then talking really rudely about them when they returned to the bar. Not at all polite. Incredibly disingenuous. I wanted to say something about it but clearly management tolerates this as they participated in talking really poorly about one of the guests who was a regular. Will not be returning. Will take our business lunches elsewhere.
Very inviting atmosphere chilled relaxing and food was superb
Terrible experience for a large group made reservation over 2 Months in advance Food
Disclaimer: To start off, BRING CASH, double check your bill. Food is good and I would give a 4 star if service and auto grat was not so sketchy/questionable (I have worked in the service industry for 15+ years). Service: Would be a 4 star if it matched the food. I came with some colleagues and were a group of 15 people. They mentioned a auto-gratuity (always added to the bill) which is totally not something new for groups of 6. However, when we were provided the bill it was not on the bill the server grabbed the machine and pressed a few buttons then put our cards in. Typically, even at restaurants with auto-gratuity we would be given a option to tip more. However, the server selected the tip option himself. Auto grat is not a thing at the restauraunt as if you pay cash you can choose the amount you think was earned for the service provided. I remember trying to enforce this at a previous job and got in trouble. It is not acceptable and should be on the bill if you wish to make it mandatory. Food: 4 star: The duck rigatoni was served al dente and full of flavour and flatbread was delicious! Would come back if they fix the auto grat system. We are planning a 20 person company event and a few of us opted to not to go to this venue though it is nearby.
Good ambiance. But tables are put so close you may have privacy issue. About the food,I would say they go with quantity over quality
Enjoyed their set menu, 3 courses + amuse bouche + half a glass of sparkling red for $55 was definitely worth it!
Wow what a little hidden gem this place was!!
