Okay. Let's begin with the best part. The bbq pork. It's cooked perfectly. Juicy, tender, crunchy outside. The bbq sauce is 👌❤️✨️❤️✨️next is the well-made chili oil. It is definitely made with love. I got the chili noodle bowl with bbq pork. A bbq pork bao and the traditional sui mai as a side. The flavor town I went to was lovely!!! It wasn't overloaded with salt either. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I would recommend this place every time I come. I'm really glad I picked this as my last meal here it was the best.

Friday night at Heritage Asian Eatery on Pender Street doesn't disappoint with Prawn Toast, Dan Dan Noodles, Roast Duck BBQ Plate and Duck Bao! This is our first time at Heritage Asian Eatery. This Chinese restaurant is an upscale eatery that delivers bold and delicious comfort food with a modern twist. We walked in on a Friday night and we were initially seated at the bar as all the tables were full. After we ordered, a staff approached was that a table freed up so we moved to a table seat with ease. Each dish was just delightful and brought great memories and feels dining with my parents (who are both no longer with us) and siblings just sharing comfort Chinese food. Honestly felt like a nice big hug with each bite. I found out there is a Main Street location that just opened up which is closer to where I reside. As well, I work in North Vancouver and I am waiting for Heritage Asian Eatery to open in Lonsdale Quay!

Love this place! Got their garlic chili noodles and it tasted exactly like noodles I’ve had before that I’ve been craving. My friend had the mushroom bao and it was savory but good! Their spring rolls were okay.

[September 2024] I ordered an eggplant rice bowl. The variety of things in this bowl is so nice; you can dig in and find something interesting with each bite. I really love eggplants, so this was a haven for me. I really enjoyed it. The portion, price, and presentation are also nice. Hopefully, next time I'll visit them in person instead of ordering delivery. 5 out of 5 experience.

BBQ Pork was extremely dry and salty.ay have been serving leftovers from the day before. Mushroom / Sticky Rice dumpings were amazing and the prawn toast was on point. Service was also amazing! But can't get over the salty, dry BBQ pork.

Heritage Asian Eatery in Vancouver offers some of the best dumplings and spring rolls I've ever tasted. The dumplings are perfectly crafted, with a delicate skin and a juicy, flavorful filling that melts in your mouth. The spring rolls are crispy and packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients. Our host, Tan, was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, enhancing our dining experience with his warm hospitality. The combination of exquisite food and excellent service makes Heritage Asian Eatery a must-visit for anyone in Vancouver.

the food was great, the staff were friendly and nice ambiance inside. we ordered salt baked chicken on rice, duck & pork with thick egg noodle, classic chicken bowl, roast duck on rice, spicy tofu, fried cauliflower and we all got a milk tea. we enjoyed everything that we ordered and we're all so full when we left the place. it's our first time here and will definitely be back whenever were in the area

My first visit was 6 years ago, good to see they renovated the space. I tried their BAO for the first time, base on what I saw in other reviews, I felt the bao wasn’t matching what I expected, everything inside was so little. It’s $6 for a quick taste that I wouldn’t order it again. Friend ordered classic chicken plate, and didn’t expect was “fried chicken” style, if you want classic maybe go for the baked chicken! The flavor is nice but very salty. (Just as salty as how i remembered from years ago…😅)

A friend and I dined at the Main Street location last evening. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated at a table of our choosing. The servers were friendly and attentive the entire evening. 5 star service! We started with the eggplant fries and fried squid - both were delicious. We continued with Sumac Chicken, lamb dumplings and fried rice - again all incredible. We had the sesame balls for dessert - really tasty. They have a great cocktail menu and wine list. The environment is great and features a central bar with bar seating which is great for couples or those dining solo. There is low and high table seating available and the layout is well thought through. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely return. I can t stress enough how lovely the servers were!

Having walked past a gazillion times, I ve never really paid attention to Heritage. It s so unassuming. Boy have I been missing out. Small menu, perfectly cooked. There wasn t anything we ordered we didn t like. Unlike many, the tastes weren t sweet, overpowering and cloying, they were fresh, subtle and delicious. For example the broccoli and garlic tastes overwhelmingly of broccoli. The service was prompt and extremely friendly. Heritage will undoubtedly be a regular on my Vancouver go-to list. EDIT: back to Heritage this week and it was as good as I remembered it. So great to find it consistently turns out great food and service. I ll be dreaming of the BBQ pork on rice for day to come. Succulent and fragrant, it was delicious

The garlic noodles was my favorite. The Dan Dan noodles was okay. Duck bao was really good, but only got 1 for the price. That was a little disappointing.

We walked by the restaurant several times and thought we should give it a try. This turned out to be a big mistake. We had fried wonton, noodle with chicken and rice with BBQ pork. It took a long time for the simple dishes to be served and we found the food to be several notches below what one should expect from a Chinese restaurant. The noodle and vegetables had no sauce and taste and th rice was of low grade grains. Sorry, we have to be honest in our review as we expected a lot more.

It was our first time visiting Vancouver and on the last day for our evening meal we decided we want chinese food. After some research, I found this little gem Heritage Asian Eatery and it did not disappoint! I ordered the eggplant bowl and my mum ordered the BBQ Pork Noodle Soup. The eggplant dish was so flavourful my mouth was watering at every bite! It also had a marinated egg which was cooked to perfection with the yolk soft and some chinese greens in this bowl. It was a bowl of yummy for me. My mum ordered the BBQ Pork Noodle Soup, the soup tasted very heartwarming with tender pieces of BBQ Pork slices and there was prawn&Pork wontons and some Chinese greens as well! The only down side was the Soup wasnt pipping hot, it was just warm so therefore Ive given the 4 stars. But over all I highly recommend this place!

if you want dim sum and don t want to go to richmond, go here. pretty tasty, especially the pea vines and eggplant (recommend), which were unusually good for vegetables. the truffle shu mai and mushroom sticky rice were good if you like truffle. the wonton soup was solid for wonton soup, but bland for my taste, which I think is common. the pork belly was yummy, and the duck was pretty solid, though not worth it IMO. the bao was not very good. TLDR: come here to try, but get the pea vines and eggplants and pork belly

This was the worst Asian food I had during my short visit to Vancouver. For a place so blessed with Asian food I was expecting the 4+ rating to mean something. Instead we got siu mai dumplings with no sauce, boa buns that were tough and not flavoursome, dan dan noodles that despite being tasty didnt have any sichuan flakes (tasted more like a laksa and when i asked for sichuan pepper they gave me this horrible paste) and had a cold egg, char sui pork belly that was tough and a fried chicken pot dish that was so stale and untasty we had to give it away. The staff service was the only saving grace.

July 23, 2024

Traveling for work, I ordered take away (so maybe it s better if you dine in). The menu advertised BBQ with rice. I got bacon with a sauce. Nothing else. Despite the menu listing it as with rice, there was no rice. Or anything, just bacon with syrup. There is a menu option for extra rice , I guess order that if you want anything with your meal. I travel a weekly around the world. This is the worst take out I ve had in many years.

July 23, 2024

The food was ok, not bad. However the service from one waiter was very bad. He gave us 2 menus. My son who is 2 years old was playing with one menu by just opening and closing the menu and caused no damage to it. I was at the same time reading the menu he was holding. Suddenly the waiter came by and quickly took away the menu my son was holding in a very rude way. He didn t say a word. We were all shocked and looked at him. It definitely ruined our dinner.

July 23, 2024

We had worst experience ever with this restaurant. I never give review to a restaurant before, but we can t accept how they treat our son. I wish I could give a 0 star. We had dinner last night with my kids. We know our son is an active kid, but he was just opening and closing the menu without any damage. The white waiter then suddenly took the menu from him with the rudest manner without any words. We were even looking at the menu. We were shocked and wanted to leave right away. The food was just average, but the service was the worst. This is definitely NOT a kid-friendly place. Avoid it.

If youre on the hunt for your next favorite dining spot, look no further. This place is a hidden gem not only does it offer a cozy atmosphere but it also serves up dishes that will really tantalize your taste buds. And my Vegan taste buds highly recommend their Eggplant bowl. It never fails to impress me. One would think veggie is bland. Oh boy, not this one! Every time I come here it always tastes better. Im already looking forward to my next visit. Not only is it flavorful (like my grandmas home cook meal) but its also incredibly filling. They also have other great dishes but this bowl captured my heart and turned me into a repeat customer. Dont just take my word for it, experience the magic of this dish for yourself or and the other dishes they have. And let me know if you agree or disagree. Dietary restrictions: They have limited options on the main dish for vegan: mushroom rice bowl, eggplant rice bowl, and Dan Dan noodle( can be turned vegan if you ask the server. ) they have several vegetarian appies. Kid-friendliness: I saw people with kids come eat at this place. Wheelchair accessibility: This is wheelchair accessible. They have a ramp.

We were so delighted walking out of the restaurant. Who knew! We were on our Sunday morning walk to check out a bakery nearby. Hunger stroke in the late morning and I had a craving for dim sum. I was thinking about Victoria but my husband reminded me of Heritage which we had read about recently. We were skeptical about how authentic the food would be given the location but we thought we would support a small business by giving a try and we are both very glad that we did! We ordered 3 items to share: 1. A rice dish with BBQ duck, BBQ park and roast chicken 2. Prawn toasts 3. Wonton in chili oil We walked in around 1130 and there was only one table seated inside. Service was extremely attentive. The server told us what the popular dishes were given it was our first visit. I love prawn toasts. The bread was crispy but soft on the inside. The paste had a nice slightly chewy texture. The heat level of the chili oil bathing the wontons was just right. All 3 meats on the rich plate were very nice. The duck pieces were juicy and tender and had a good layer of fat under the skin. The BBQ pork also had good proportions of fat and meat from belly part of the pig. The roast chicken pieces were flavourful and very tender as well. I m glad to see that the restaurant was full by the tine we left around 1230.

The room was nice, and the service wasnt bad, but the food left a lot to be desired. The dan dan noodles were swimming in thick peanut buttery sauce, there was very little nuance or depth to the dish, just a lot of peanut butter and some chili oil. I love dan dan, so this was a bit disappointing. Veggies were overcooked and the spring rolls were absolute mush. I dont think ill be back, which is a shame, because its in my neighborhood.

We loved everything we ordered; char siu pork, truffle siu mai, potstickers, fried cauliflower and bbq pork baos. So so yummy! Great atmosphere and such friend service also, I will definitely be back for sure!

We loved the cozy vibe of this restaurant. Visited on a Friday around 6:30PM with no reservation and didnt need to wait to be seated. We ordered the HK Style Milk Tea to start. It was good but tasted a little different than traditional HK Style Milk tea. For dinner we shared the All 3, duck, chicken and char shu plate, an order of shrimp toast and Dan Dan noodles. All of the food was fantastic and the portion sizes were great for the price. I personally loved the shrimp toast and chicken. The duck and chicken sauces were amazing. 10/10 would come back again. Definitely want to try more items like their XLBs and Baos.

★★
February 23, 2024

Havent been in a few months, but the quality was off today. The XLBs were all punctured which lost all the soup and became dry. The char siu was mainly fatty cuts and any lean portions were quite dry. If this is the level of food theyre gonna continue to serve, then its time to look else where.

Surprising find in Vancouver! Happy hour 3-6pm is a great introduction to this restaurant. I had the XLB (Xiao Long Bao), truffle Sui Mai, spring rolls, black sesame balls and a glass of red wine all from the HH menu. The XLB was juicy and delicious but the springs rolls were sooo good. I didn t expect they would be perfectly fried and greaseless. Must ask for the chili oil here. It s so good! I loved this place and would come back.

Delicious food without doubt! Crispy wonton with lots of filling, super crunchy and dry (not wet in oil), tasty bbq chicken with an amazing ginger sauce but they forgot to serve the half egg, yummy steamed sablefish which I was craving for so long and did not disappoint and finally wonderful traditional Siu Mai that I forgot to take a pick because it was too good that I finished before I realized. Prices and service are ok. I felt the decoration kind of pallid like without life or spirit.

I called past working hours and they let me come in and pick them up at around 10:00 at night, as I was leaving the following day. The food during my visit was also delicious and the service was very quick!! Out of all the places I could have forgotten my sunglasses in Vancouver, I feel lucky that it was at this establishment. The prawn toast is sooo good and so hard to find in Vancouver. My boyfriend loved the duck bao. The pork belly bao was okay. The soup dumplings were really good but a bit overpriced. Ordered delivery from this place so don t know about atmosphere but came here to drop a review because bbq pork and siu mai are two of my favourite dishes. I ve had good ones and bad ones and this was really good for a take out joint that s not a full on dim sum restaurant. Siu Mai was moist and pork was just the right amount of fat and dryness. It s hard to find a place that does both well. Rice was a bit luke warm and dry when it arrived but I d rather that than overcooked or too sticky. Will have to stop by sometime when I m in the area to try the rest of the menu.

An easy to get into, fairly casual joint with a nicely decorated interior. Although some things could have been slightly better, all the food was well done. Their chilli oil recipe was what made the entire meal. It is most likely the best chilli oil Ive had. Their Char Siu was extremely flavourful but a bit dry. The BBQ Duck Bao was very soft and succulent but lacked a bit of flavour. The Xiao Long Bao, although incredibly delicious, stuck to the steamer and we couldnt get much of the delicious broth into our mouths before they broke. The sauces are definitely what has made this meal, I highly recommend getting some rice to seep up all that delicious goodness!

A great find in downtown Vancouver. Very attentive service. Food served promptly, but not so quickly that you felt under pressure. Quality of food was excellent the waitress even recommended that we took a cheaper main course since we d had a large appetiser. The decor is authentic i.e. a bit scruffy, but that all adds to the vibe of the place. Thoroughly recommended.

I loved the dan dan noodles and the xiao long bao. The vegetarian options were not nearly as good - both the eggplant and the cauliflower were a bit disappointing. My favorite item was the fried radish cake; however, I was really upset to find out that the dish had both shrimp and pork yet this is not indicated on the menu. The restaurant should make a more concerted effort to list when items are not vegetarian-friendly or have certain food allergens as this is a health safety issue.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. There were a couple of tables eating already and we were seated quickly. It was pretty quiet in the restaurant, felt like everyone could hear our conversation at times. The interior was pretty, though. The food was decent! Given the price point, it better be lol. The Dan Dan noodles were rich but didnt have a lot of kick to it. I would have preferred more spice, but it was filling nonetheless. The pork belly was on the fatty side, which might not be to everyones taste. I didnt see the option to choose less fat. I probably would not order the chicken wings again. They were dry and had too much batter. Everything else was good. XLBs could be soupier, but the flavours were there.

We came here on a Sunday mid-afternoon and were seated straightaway. Restaurant is clean and well maintained and service is fast and friendly. We had the three meat rice dish and the chicken, duck and pork were cooked perfectly; the pork was especially tasty. Recommend the crispy tofu also. Unfortunately the dandan noodles were served in quite a thick pasty sauce that was way overflavoured with peanut which was overpowering. Wouldn t get that one again but would come back otherwise. We hired Paul and the team at Heritage Asian Eatery to cater our wedding and we are beyond happy with that decision! Our guests couldn t stop raving about the delicious food from cocktail hour passed canapés, to the buffet dinner, and the dessert bar. Everyone loved it! Since our wedding was in North Vancouver, it was very convenient for their team to prepare the food at their nearby kitchen and bring everything into the venue fresh. Working with Paul on the details was a lot to figure out in the beginning as they are standardizing their processes for weddings, and the timing of dinner was a little delayed but the food itself more than makes up for that. We had all of our favourite Cantonese dishes and we even got matcha mantous for dessert which was my special request. :) it was obvious Paul has a high standard of quality, wanted to serve only the best, and his team is incredibly hard working. They delivered a fantastic meal that we will remember forever. Thank you!!

I visited at happy hour and had four spectacular dim sum style dishes for $28. Everything was at least as delicious as anything Ive ever eaten at dim sum, usually at much higher prices. I can enthusiastically recommend the spicy tofu, the fried cauliflower and the black sesame balls. The servings were so generous I called my husband to join me to eat the leftovers ... He also ordered the truffle pork siu mia and said they were excellent. The service was lovely and food service was fast. The interior is comfortable but fun too. Vegetarian options: The spicy tofu was 10/10. With the cauliflower and sesame balls, I ate 50% and had enough for another full dinner.

Stumbled in here an hour before closing after Air Canada didnt send my checked bag on my flight here for a work conference. Asian comfort food sounded like an awesome pick me up. Servers are attentive and refilled my water, requested knife and fork and got that no problem. I live up north so anytime I am in Van I always enjoy the plentiful good food options. Kiwami plum sour is really like the label on the beer can, satisfyingly refreshing. I wanted the pork belly main plate but they were out, got the roast duck instead, simply flavoured but satisfying, theres bone in the meat. Loved the egg. Enjoyed a traditional Siu mai dumpling, you get 4, very tasty, I love that savouryness. I enjoyed the vibes, would come here again, the prices are comparable to other Vancouver restaurants. I placed an order using doordash more than one hour before the pick up time. My order was accepted and confirmed. When I get to the restaurant, I was informed that the restaurant had cancelled my order (after accepting and confirming it). I showed them my confirmation email and also the charge on my credit car d (no refunds). They made a fuss, called doordash and apparently asked them to refund me while I was there. I ordered online because it was a very busy day and I would have only 20 minutes to eat. They made my food, charged me again (more than I had paid on doordash for the same dishes, somehow?!) and served me with disposable utensils, even though I was eating there.... I only accepted it bc I was in a rush and would not have time to go somewhere else.
