1087 Granville St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1L4, Canada
Historic jukebox-lined diner serving free-run eggs & breakfast faves, plus burgers & classic shakes.
The Templeton in Vancouver is a true gem that combines fantastic food with an unforgettable atmosphere. Walking in feels like stepping back in time to a classic 1950s diner, complete with vintage decor and an authentic, cozy vibe that sets the stage for a great meal. The menu offers plenty of comfort food options, but the mangled eggs are a must-try—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the ultimate comfort breakfast. Pair them with their pancakes, which are light, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth good. It’s the kind of meal that makes you feel at home, even if you’re just visiting. The Templeton isn’t just a place to eat—it’s an experience. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast, brunch, or just a coffee, this spot is worth every second. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good food with a side of nostalgia!
Authentic diner atmosphere serving a great selection of food. I got the truckers breakfast and my friend got the keto breakfast. Both were excellent.
I saw a lot of good reviews here so I wanted to give it a try. Upon arriving, there was a line so I wasn't the only one trying to see if this place was any good. It was really good. I definitely made a happy plate. The spot is small but has an old dinner vibe that I loved. Staff were friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.
What a great place! People are so nice which I believe is the most important thing. It was already packed when we arrived at 9 but the wait wasn’t long. The food also arrived quickly and for its price is a great deal. I had the pulled pork benny and only got to half of my plate before getting full. I also had the key lime shake which was sublime (lol pun intended). Overall, great place, nice, chill, diner vibe. 😊 be visiting again soon
I discovered the Templeton on my first trip to Vancouver about 20 years ago. I try to go on each visit. I love the retro vibe and the service is great. The menu is actually a little limited (there is nothing particularly small other than soup or pie, ie a side of fries or a salad [there is Caesar salad after 3pm only]). But it's classic diner fare in good portions at fair prices. It's best to try to go outside peak hours since it's a small place.
Excellent! Local small breakfast place. Always very busy and usually always a line up. Worth the wait; we’ve been back often. One request: Sausage and potatoes more burnt/crispy please! ☺️
Quite tasty food, a little reminiscent of the taste from childhood. The establishment is very atmospheric and one might say historical, as if you are transported back in time. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the cleanliness of the establishment, I wish they cleaned it up more, so I'm taking off a star.
Very reasonably priced food in a classic diner setting. Serving sizes were large but I'm not sure that the food was worth the wait. My vegan tofu scrambler was definitely lacking flavour and veggie bacon was not good. Rosemary potatoes were tasty though and my friend's pancakes were a hit!
Pretty good food, including lots of solid vegan options. Neat decor too!
Truckers Breakfast The toast could be a little greasy, but it was still pretty good. The bacon was good and not too salty (by foreign standards).
Small dinner but punches above its weight in food! I had a coffee and the Trucker s Breakfast. The breakfast was the perfect portion for 1 person. The ladies were very kind and friendly with everyone and if you came solo or as a couple, you hardly had to wait (10:30 am on a Monday). Only suggestion I have is to offer a choice of shredded or cut potatoes. Other than that, while I m not downtown much, I could definitely see myself coming back!
This was pure nostalgia of 80s American diner experience, food is really tasty and they have some good desserts too
Great classic diner spot. Love their milkshakes. Can get really busy on weekends but if you like a diner this is a gem.
This place was recommended to me by friends so I checked it out. I thought I missed the rush but it was still quite busy when I got there. I thought the service was good for the number of patrons
The big breakfast was delicious. The sausage links are huge and the bacon was cooked spot on. The environment was welcoming and clean.
Wonderful experience with family. Kids loved the atmosphere and food. Staff pleasant and helpful. It was like stepping into the past for a brief moment during lunch!
Straight to my top three breakfast places in Vancouver. The Templeton is what it is, no pretentions. It s not fancy schmanzy but it s a cool place to hang out. Weekday, the line was only about 15 minutes, the wait for my food was about 25 minutes but to be fair, they told me that when I ordered. When my classic eggs benny arrived it did not look great, the hollandaise looked like melted cheese, and I had a moment of buyer s remorse but from the first mouthful I was in love. High quality ingredients perfectly cooked and that cheesy looking home-made Hollandaise, rich and unctuous. So good. The team here are super-friendly and efficient and the price was great by Vancouver standards.
Loved the way the restaurant is decorated! So fun and nostalgic! Had breakfast here and the food was cozy and delicious! Definitely will be visiting again!
Food was astonishing, staff is really nice and fast, music and atmosphere are great.
It is a tourist trap. Food was worse than your average greasy spoon diner. Find somewhere better and save yourself the wait and inflated prices.
This is a really cool spot for brunch! #ContestEntry Food : 5/5
At first, we liked the atmosphere of this restaurant so much that we ordered a cheese omelet, buttermilk pancakes, and two chocolate milkshakes. There was a mistake while eating and paying. After belatedly confirming that approximately 10,000 won had been added, we went back to get a receipt and received the money back, but we received a lower amount than we should have received. I liked the food and overall atmosphere, but I probably wont go again.
Great service and decent food at reasonable prices.
Loved it. Tasty food and the good ol diner vibe. Lovely staff. Thank you for the great experience.
Cute little retro diner. Not in the best part of town unfortunately but that doesn t take away from the atmosphere of the restaurant and the quality of the food.
This place is great is youre doing food reliable, decent food but specifically a fun retro atmosphere! #contestentry
Some of the best breakfast I have ever had! Rosemary potatoes are sooo good!!
I have never been to your restaurant, but I love you guys.. So amazing that we can go to a real American style diner Do those juke boxes actually work? Definitely coming for sure So if you guys really love this place then practice what you preach and give them the 5 stars they deserve It s not like there s a place like this on every corner hello? Show some appreciation for this Happy place
Great spot. Never lets me down. Excellent staff and vibe.
Got the pulled pork benny, but the pulled pork said to be house made bbq pulled pork just tasted like it was seasoned with nothing more than salt, and the english muffins were rather stale. On the bright side, the buttermilk pancakes I had a bite of were heavenly, with a soft, buttery, and rich taste definitely recommended.
Great place to eat complete and fast.
This place is exactly the experience I want from a diner ! Good prices & good food. #contestentry
This is a really good breakfast. I had the big ass breakfast, and it was delicious. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was nice, and the place was very busy. At 11am on a Saturday, it was packed. The cost of my breakfast was $16.99.
Always awesome food and service.
I love it here 10/10!! Except your coffee is now watered down. 4 separate times, I ve been disappointed with the coffee taste. Please add 2-3 scoops of beans to brew. Would go a long way. Thank youuuu
Nice diner - typical breakfast. Coffee selection not available
Great food and dining experience. Very much a classic diner. I had to give it three to five stars for atmosphere this time because while I was waiting in line it got extremely uncomfortable with all the homeless people screaming even directly at the restaurant in general. Would go again though.
Good food and a charming classic diner atmosphere. It could use a little maintenance, but overall, it s a good place to grab some breakfast!
Really, really good food! Was pleasantly surprised. The boozy milkshakes were great as well, Captain Peanut was awesome.
Walking through the kitchen to the bathroom was different.
This place has great food and history! Its has old diner decor but really amazing breakfast food at a great price, definitely worth checking out!
Nostalgic atmosphere, pleasant service, food was good! Prices reasonable.
Authentic!!!! We went shortly before closing time and they treated us without problems! Delicious food with unbeatable service! It was a pleasure to be in such an authentic place where they take care of all the details!
10/10
Crowded and food was nothing to write home about. Servers were great.
It was my first time here and I do have to say that it was a delicious breakfast. I was alone so they were able to seat ne right away. ( Little tid bit for those who are solo here). Groups of 2 or more will have a wait time, but the food is worth the wait. Staff were friendly and personable. I will be returning.....
What a classic place. We very much enjoyed a burger and BLT for lunch.
A short wait but great food!
The price is decent if the food was good. Me and my partner Sat waiting to order for some time. We ordered breakfast and my partner had old hashbrowns something tasted rotten..It seems only the eggs were fresh.
A little run down in run down area but so much character and delicious food. Juke boxes dont work anymore. Prob needs a very specific type of trades person to fix if anyone has that knowledge. Maybe give them a shout.
If you want the 50s diner experience this comes pretty close. Breakfast all day! Only critique is that my husband hand the croissant egg sandwich which tasted very strongly of onions but no onions in the eggs. They have vegan options available.
Food and service is amazing as always!
Finally got to go and took my kids. We enjoyed the food and it was reasonablly priced.
Hidden jem! Just delish! Service fantastic! Recommended to everyone! Food : 5/5 |
Excellent place to be. As an African, I dont mostly like to eat intercontinental foods till I visited and decided to try out food from Templeton. There food will just keep you wowing. One thing I discovered about the place is that its Always very busy and usually always a line up but I guess its because of the quality they are offering. People always want to spend their money for quality so I guess its really Worth the wait; me and my wife have always been back to have some breakfast or dinner once in a while. I always like to take their Sausage and potatoes or something. They have very kind and respectful staffs to say the least. This is a good place to try out.
Great little hole in the wall diner! Went here for breakfast, the diner was full and there was a small queue. Only waited 15 minutes til a table was available for us. Food is very good with generous portions! I treated myself to an icecream milkshake and it was amazingly delicious!!! Highly recommend!
Great vegan vegetarian options when yer craving old school diner vibes. great service.
Working Diner. Nearly romantic.
Great atmosphere in this place. Only a small diner but great hub hub and general chit chat in the background with some gentle, not intrusive music. Nice place to relax. Food ok but could have more taste. Certainly worth a visit !
I loved my meal the service was awesome and friendly and I will definetly be back again
Queue to get in and the waitresses were working so hard to get everyone served. Food was lovely. Washroom not so lovely
The best pancakes I had in my life!
Ordered takeout. Pulled pork Benny and Denver omelette. The pulled pork was super dry, although good amounts. English muffin was good, not overly hard. The eggs were done perfectly and beautifully. The rosemary hash browns were my favorite. Not overly salty, and its herb-y. But what really fell flat was the pulled pork. As for the Denver omelette, great amount of bacon. Overall was good. I did stop at the washroom when picking up my food. You have to walk past the kitchen to get to the tiny tiny washroom. I do not feel safe walking past the kitchen as it was very small and hot, and I was worried I might get hurt/burnt or knock over something. They do charge for bags, so be mindful if u dont want a bag, let them know ahead of time Overall, the place is good value and reasonable pricing.
Waited for 20 min after being sat. No one came. After asking to order, they told us to that a server was coming. No one came. They were all just doing side duties. Awful place.
Great breakfast. There was a bit of a wait to get in because it s a popular place but worth it.
Unfortunately I cant recommend it. The service is slow in general and in our case we were waiting for the food for 45 minutes. After this time they told us that our order had been lost among the rest and that they were going to start making the food then. We had to cancel it because we were in a hurry and couldnt wait any longer. They had only served us drinks and we had to pay for them. At least they could have offered us as compensation not to pay the drinks for the inconvenience caused, in other places they would have done it.
Both the waitress ladies were genuinely the sweetest and my eggs benny was top notch
Excellent value for money there is a line, the wait was 45 minutes but it was worth it! Generous breakfast in quantities! We loved it!!
such a vibe, great food and never a wait
Nice little cafe downtown with reasonable prices and good food. I guess they specialize in pancakes, but I got Huevos rancheros. Very good dish. Wheelchair accessibility: Limited space.
Love to stop by here every couple of months. Tasty food and the most reasonably priced brunch food around. Their milkshakes are delicious! Super nice staff too. On the weekends the wait is a bit long so be prepared if you go between 10-12 Enjoy!
Delicious burgers at a very fair price (portions are sufficient) and the staff is very friendly. The ambience is really great, you shouldnt be put off by the external appearance of the diner. The Tempelton is definitely worth a visit and would eat there again and again.
Brings back memory of what a local cafe should be. Burger was solid, milkshake was fabulous (she made extra and pass it to me) and not sweet like many fast-food milkshakes. Service was attentive. Great experience overall.
The burger and the fries were rather flavorless
Old school style diner, must try their strawberry and key lime milkshakes. Good portion sizes.
You cant ask for more. Everything is really right here! A bit of time travel, great service and really great food.
Great divey diner. Lowbrow at its best.
A great little find real retro.. The waitress were awesome..Jane was so fun to joke around with ..just found by chance come to st pauls hospital.. You must try this place if your in vancouver amazing atmosphere..
I have only the best compliments for the Templeton. The food is top notch, the servers are super friendly and welcoming, prices are very reasonable, very chilled out proper diner atmosphere, coffee always great and plentiful, lots of vegan options and modifiers on the menu, my only regret is not getting one last meal in before we left Vancouver. We ate here every week, and never a bad experience, 5 stars doesnt seem like enough! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Vegan options, all AMAZING! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan options easily available
I mostly came for the French fries.
Great classic diner breakfast.
The place is small, but very nice, the service excellent, and the food is good. I hope to return to try the breakfasts.
Damn fine food by damn fine people.
The main problem with The Templeton is that it highlights a flaw with the Google review system. Consider the problem, you visit a restaurant/cafe/diner once, its flawless and you give 5 stars but we visited the Templeton at least once a week for over a year and it was flawless every single time - 5 stars seems short of what it deserves! Everyone who works there is just so friendly and professional and the food and coffee are off the charts. Great menu with tonnes of variety from huevos rancheros to bennys to burgers to pancakes and french toast, absolutely unmissable if youre in the area!
Loved the fish & chips. The retro theming was great, and wait time was pretty short! Go by yourself, or with friends if you want more fun.
Grilled Cheese and fries. Two kinds of cheese, Nicely gooey. Thick sliced bread, perfectly toasted. Service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere is retro but not overdone. The prices are in line.
Great buttermilk pancakes! Love the coffee too
I love the restaurant! The food is delicious and the portions are big
Great diner with impressive vegetarian options
This is a cute little place, I enjoyed it but it was pretty crowded mid-morning during the week.
Got the BBBurger with sriracha mayo instead of barbecue sauce and Captain Peanut Boozy Shake. Really enjoyed the burger but felt the fries could have been better. Amazing service, our waitress was amazing. The diner felt dingy upon first entry but after reading the amazing history, we quickly got acclimated to it and felt the old diner vibes. Reasonably priced food with old school vibes. Will definitely recommend and visit again.
My son will be disappointed that I wrote this without him. In his own words the pulled pork poutin was the best hes had. We came for breakfast, portions were excellent. We all really enjoyed the meal, and the milkshakes came in the classic tin cups. Great spot and great food.
Delish! Mangled Eggs was wonderfully mangled and the croissant was crispy and soft. Only complaint is the coffee, I just cant do Costco French Roast :D
Nice little corner and yummy food
Be warned the kitchen closes half an hour before closing time. I was looking forward to trying a milkshake but showed up 35 minutes before closing and was turned away.
The Templeton presents a unique blend of history and modern comfort. Nestled in a quaint setting, it offers a cozy atmosphere thats perfect for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat. The rooms, although compact, are immaculately clean and well-appointed with modern amenities. The standout feature is the attentive staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. While the on-site dining options are limited, the quality of food is excellent, with a focus on local and fresh ingredients. The lack of extensive recreational facilities is compensated by the charming surroundings and numerous nearby attractions. Perfect for those seeking a serene and intimate experience..
The Templeton Diner is a delightful throwback to classic Americana dining. Situated in Vancouver, this charming establishment exudes a vintage ambiance that resonates with nostalgia. The men showcases a delightful array of comfort foods, from sumptuous milkshakes to hearty burgers. The attentive staff and retro decor add to the diners inviting atmosphere, making it a welcoming spot for every visit. Whether enjoying a casual meal or seeking a taste of the past, The Templeton Diner promises a gratifying experience with a side of old-fashioned charm.
What truly stood out for me was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they were knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations when needed. The wine list was ipressive, featuring a selection that complemented the dishes perfectly. To top off the evening, I indulged in their dessert menu, and I was not disappointed. The chocolate lava cake was a heavenly treat, with a gooey center that oozed decadent chocolate goodness.
We were looking for a classic American diner and this is exactly what we got! Excellent food and service. Thank you
Classic diner experience, really really good food, good portions, great menu selection, kind and professional staff, 100% would go again
Best blueberry buttermilk pancakes , the only place , makes me want some right now!!! Great service, cozy, nostalgic vibe
Really friendly service and great prices on their classic breakfasts. I also like that the portions are reasonably sized so you aren t absolutely stuffed by the end.
Beautifully furnished diner with original seating and jukeboxes from the 1950s. The ambience is truly unique and simply gorgeous. We had our last dinner here today before we unfortunately fly back to Germany tomorrow. The burgers were all excellent and the milkshake was the best milkshake Ive had in Canada to date. A big thank you also to the great service staff who took wonderful care of us. Highly recommended!
Its no bad.
The best brunch spot on Granville or the surrounding area that Im aware of.
Little hideout of a cafe in the heart of Vancouver. Service is extremely amazing with the waitresses being very attentive. Food quality can be little improved - the veggie bacon needs to be changed I think to something better. Overall; a nice experience in a small cafe downtown - and reasonably priced.
I had the classic eggs benny. It was simple and delicious and less than $20. If you want a casual , no fuss place to eat, with friendly service and a bit of character - then you ll like Templeton.
Was in town for a night to catch a cruise ship. Found this place around the corner from where I was staying. Good food, friendly staff and a nice 1970s/sockhop vibe. Would definitely come again next time Im in town.
The food was delicious and the value was there. Although, I felt a bit rushed. There was a line up outside so the server was happy to see you leave. Overall a good experience.
We tried the brunch at the Templeton for the first time today. The food was great and the staff were amazing. There was a line up but one of the staff was given us updates and making sure that we are doing ok. We used the time to look at the menu so we were ready to order when we sat down. We had a little bit of everything, and all tasted really good. On top of that we tried their milkshake which was very delicious. The vibe, food , and hospitality were worthy of the wait. Definitely will suggest them and try their food again.
Good place. Better then other around. Just go and enjoy
Cozy tables + great food.
It s so delicious!!!so good!!!
A nice 50s retro diner in downtown Vancouver with great food, great prices and friendly service. There are historic jukeboxes on each table, although they dont work. The restaurant is in an historic building and is unique because the washroom is through the kitchen. Ive been there twice and its been good each time. The restaurant is small and cramped and may not be suitable for people with wheelchairs. Wheelchair accessibility: It is small and cramped and not suitable for wheelchairs.
Nice place and customer service. Food is ok and you have to wait outside to be seated because there are just a few tables...
Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My veggie omelet was extremely good! My husband and I also shared pancakes they were delicious as well! Vegetarian options: Had the vegetable omelet. Very good! Probably the best omelet Ive had in a long time.
This was a great hidden gem. I enjoyed the pancake. The fruit wasnt that great...but that was ok. The atmosphere had a nice family and friends vibe. I would go again when in the area.
Great food and service. Fun ambiance. Like an old diner.
I ordered Pulled Pork and it was very deciuos. Meat was tender covered with a special soauce. I will definitely come back.
Great milkshakes
Get there early, there is a line but it s worth the wait! Old school dinner feel with very friendly staff. Portion sizes are large and food is fresh. Great spot for a Sunday brunch.
Went here twice once for breakfast and then for lunch, both times excellent food and excellent service. Also, free refills for coffee
The Templeton is so lovely! Such a cute little hidden gem in downtown on Granville, this place has the vibes of an old school diner while its kept up with the times... Menu items are many, including plenty of vegetarian options and even a few vegan ones. Prices are decent for 2024, and the service is great. The place is busy (because its so popular) cramped (because its a hole-in-the-wall) and just sometimes a little ratchet (like the crackling speaker throughout our stay). But you cant/really/ hold these things against it, because its a tiny yet formidable bulwark against gentrification and capitalism. Such a great place to stop in if you have time to wait in line for 10-20 minutes, but not the place if you want to linger for a while. Service is kind and speedy, but you never feel like youre being rushed. Food is good, but the fries & vegan patty could have used a little salt haha. Otherwise yummy, but nothing to write home about taste-wise. Still, would definitely come back. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, including substitutions to make dishes vegetarian or even vegan.
Decent simple breakfast food. Coffee is horrible, but service was good and atmosphere was cute. Just dont order the brewed coffee.
Diner style eatery with friendly and swift service. Good breakfast, good value. An unexpected find in a city that, tbh, serves a lot of expensive, ordinary food. Feels more like a place youd find in small town USA. Extra star for having Breakfast in America playing on the radio as I ordered my eggs.
Got to Templeton and cued for a short time , was greeted by friendly staff and sat on the counter seats, was offered a coffee and given a menu . I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with fruit . They were exactly what I hoped for (fantastic) I really recommend this dinner , I went alone and felt completely comfortable. Was well priced and a must eat in Vancouver . Vegetarian options: The person next to me had the vegetarian option the tofu scrambled and I asked how it was he said great .
Great dive bar for breakfast
yum! worth the line outside. mangled eggs!
We had a great breakfast experience here. Good portion sizes and fast service.
It was okay.
A true hidden gem. Food was good. Portions were a bit small. Waited nearly 25 minutes to get inside. Its a good stop.
This place is so cool! Almost 100 years old, everything original, excellent food and very friendly fast service. We are very happy we stumbled upon this place!
Neat place, but needs some paint and elbow grease. Staff was friendly, food was good. The decore was fun.
Had mangled eggs and it was very good. Everything was very good, but none of it was outstanding. Definitely a place for a reliably good breakfast. Waitresses were great! Atmosphere is a cool old school diner vibe. Nice to see a place that still has a proper counter to sit at. Would love to return for a milkshake to see if they really are Worlds Best like it says on the menu!
Thanks Yannick for the great experience, the keto option was a winner, Back to the 60s Love it , I will be back Kid-friendliness: Theyre welcome
Great service, clean washroom, thick pancakes and their strawberry milkshake and smoked salmon eggs benny are 11/10.
A comatose load of food, I had the Mac and Cheese with pulled pork, spouse had fish and chips. We had an amazing server who was bubbly and had an aura of positivity. Its definitely a place to visit.
I like the idea and the restaurant. But it s too small and the food is really good, but needs more flavour.
Love love love this place. Been coming here for years for their milkshakes and deep-fried Mars bars. Quite a few things have been filmed here too, such as the very first scene in the pilot episode of The Mentalist. I recognized it immediately and got all excited lol. This place is a staple on Granville. 50s-style diners in the Lower Mainland are a rare thing now, it seems. As you get out to places like Hope or Maple Ridge, you see SO many more of these cozy, classic diners. There used to be a real nice one on the corner of King George Blvd. and 100th Ave a while back but this was the 2000s and I was still young, so I dont even remember what it was called. The Templeton is such a casual but intimate space. I love how you have to go through the kitchen if you want to use the tiny washroom. That might sound inconvenient or unconventional to most people, but to a pretentious hipster like me, its super charming. I love stuff like that. The only thing these guys are missing is serving their drinks in mason jars. That was a joke. Anyways, the servers are always super nice and of course, the food is always fantastic. Its always a great spot to spontaneously decide to dine at while walking down Granville with some friends. Or you could even be daring and make a premeditated decision to eat here. Up to you.
One of my favourite places in Vancouver! The food is amazing and the cozy diner vibe is perfect for brunch
Old diner style place with pretty good vibes. Loved the milkshake.
In the mood for some pancakes we came across this place on Google maps with a good rating. It was really good. When we left there was a queue outside waiting. We got there just after 10am on a Saturday. We had pancakes. A word of warning if you re ordering tea (especially if you re British) the hot water which comes with the tea is not boiling. Personally I prefer a hot tea. It was drunk anyway. The decor is really cool and looks original. A shame the duke box doesn t work anymore
Really nice little restaurant. Enjoyed the food. Coffee was perfect.
One of my favorites place for lunch. Everything is so good !
A wonderful find close to our hotel, we had a different breakfast on each of our three days. Everything was superb food-wise, limitless brew top-ups helped our British palates but the best thing were the two young ladies who looked after us, Yannic and Nikki. Thanks Ladies - youre a pair of stars x
Great atmosphere. Loved the food. Pulled pork pancakes!? Fantastic. Burgers for dinner were great. Will be back. Food : 5/5
The vegetarian burger was quite good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Interesting place Food
Had not been here for over a decade or more. Its still excellent. Food
Great vegetarian burger, Ive gotten it a few times. Reasonable price compared to other diners, great brunch spot. Really tasty milkshakes too. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian omelettes, vegetarian burgers, vegetarian sandwiches. good options
Breakfast was great Retro atmosphere Friendly staff Food : 5/5
Juicy delicious burger
So much better than the Five Guys! I told them I didnt want any greens and they did!
The vegan breakfast was tasty. The Curry scramble did not disappoint.
Retro diner atmosphere with good food
Updated 2024.01.29 Its a breakfast diner, but in the atmosphere from the 1940s era, so its kind of nice in that sense. Omelette was decent but nothing special. Fruit salad for an additional CAD 5 with breakfast. Free wifi, credit cards accepted.
Great breakfast! Friendly staff and super quick !! Exactly what a diner has always been for many years. Loved the atmosphere and nostalgic vibes. Was great way to start our day ! Vegetarian options: Many options!
Great , if you need at least three napkins then you know its Next Level, plus hand cut fries done to perfection. One of two authentic diners remaining in downtown Vancouver (the other is the Ovaltine on E. Hastings)... Food
Honestly such a cool and authentic experience. Proper diner feel, vintage furniture and appliances. Food was standard, coffee was good. Service was fast and kind. Definitely a quick in and out breakfast/lunch, nothing more nothing less, I respect that.
Ive been here twice now and really enjoyed it both times. The food was great despite having to wait a little longer than Id like, but breakfast rush on sunday morning is no joke. We were lucky enough to get there before a line formed outside. It is small and would benefit from a bigger location because people clearly like it, but overall Ill be happy to bring visiting family here for breakfasts again!
Very friendly service and enjoy the retro feel. The food was good but not too special.
Good food with milkshakes and nice interior. Staff are friendly.
The pulled pork eggs Benedict was amazing!
Great food, quick service, good prices
Waited about 20 minutes outside in line. The food was great. The servers were nice and fast. Super friendly.
The culinary journey began with the symphony of flavors, and the pulled pork benny emerged as the culinary maestro, orchestrating a delightful harmony on my taste buds. The table transformed into a canvas of breakfast delights as we delved into a trio of morning classics. The egg benny, a poetic creation of poached perfection crowned with hollandaise, whispered tales of culinary finesse. The avocado toast, an ode to simplicity, bore the vibrant hues of fresh avocados and the warmth of artisanal bread. And then, the omelette, a savory embrace of fluffy eggs and a medley of ingredients, unfolded as a savory sonnet on the plate. Each bite was a stanza, weaving a story of culinary craftsmanship and morning indulgence. As the flavors mingled, it wasnt just a meal it was a gastronomic journey, where every dish contributed a verse to the delightful narrative. A breakfast experience that lingered on the palate, leaving behind a savory tale to savor.
Very pleasant little American diner offering very good breakfasts and brunches. We went there for New Years morning and my brunch was very hearty and tasty. Everything was served quickly and our waitress came in several times to make sure everything was going well. Ill definitely be going back!
Love this place Great service and food Burger are the best Food : 5/5
LOVE the atmosphere. Hard to find an old school cafe in Vancouver. However the food has become avergae at best...and Im not a picky eater. Just dissaponted. And I really wish they would get the Juke Box working again. It helps with the vibe...but its been broken for a long time now. Still worth a first time visit ... but lower your food expectations.
Its a great an comfortable place to breakfast
Its nice to visit here after many years living outside of Vancouver and to see it remains and hasnt changed. Cozy diner vibes, average food (but good brunch!) And bad coffee, but I wouldnt expect any different from a nostalgic diner, I go for the atmosphere and comfort food
One or the OG cafe in Vancouver serving great food with great service
Holy moly. The food here? Immaculate! The service? Stupendous! Everything about this place is amazing!!!! The mimosas definitely hit
A classic vintage diner. Amazing decor. Food itself was shabby, but what could you ask for. The potatoes lacked much care and the rosemary is way to large and raw to eat. Service is nice and fast. Could be a wait if you decide to go a bit closer to noon. The booth for dining are comfy and nostalgic. Price is okay as well.
Great vibes, great food! Vegetarian options: Vegan options! Food : 5/5 |
Retro atmosphere with super friendly staff and good quality food
Shockingly good! I had the mangled egg sandwich and I now crave it. It is run like an actual small diner (because it is one), so its got a very small staff and they dont seem to be able to handle a crowd, but in my humble opinion the delicious breakfast food was absolutely worth the slightly above-average wait.
Friendly brunch coffee cafe. Fun.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Found this place on a work trip. The staff were great and really friendly and the food was fresh and hot. Thats all I require.... The Templeton is perfect.
BRUNCH
