1829 Robson St, Vancouver, BC V6G 1E4, Canada
Neighborhood restaurant serving burrata, fresh pasta and mains with quality ingredients. Take out and delivery (through DoorDash) is available.
Food was delicious without being super expensive. Service was excellent. Definitely make a reservation.
Cozy Italian restaurant, it’s at the corner of the street so you might miss it. We tried the Cacio e Pepe and Bigoli Meatballs, both delicious. But the absolute star of the show is the sticky toffee pudding 🫠 it is generously drenched with delicious warm caramel sauce and with the contrast of the vanilla ice cream and the warm brownie - is like a hug in a plate ❤️
I visited this place for a friend's birthday. The service was friendly and helpful. The food definitely was the star of the show, it was delicious. We tried a bunch of dishes and shared it between the group. Overall a great experience.
Had dinner with my family at Tavola and found the service fast and pleasant, allbeit slightly less friendly and personal. The chicory and beet salad was really excellent; tart, crunchy, nutty. The veal bolognese was really wonderful with a great tomato and cream. The pork chop was well cooked, and the sausage&fennel pasta was decent. The disappointment was the gnocchi as it was not pan-fried enough and felt stodgy to the pallete even if the sage butter was rather nice. Overall, I felt it was overpriced by about 10% to 15%.
Amazing house made pasta and will definitely be back. Very busy there so make sure you have an early reservation. There was a line out the door when we left. My favourite dishes were the gnocchi and the bigoli meatballs.
Nice warm room, with a sense of old school Italian sort (50's real wood panels and red upholstery), service was prompt though not that warm and a few queues were missed.during the meal. There were enough of us that we shared an appt, salad, 4 pastas and the chicken. Not particularly large servings but it completely satisfied 5 of us. All the food was good and some dishes were superb. I really liked the prosciutto with burrata and a hint of lemon. The house made spaghetti noodles were excellent and done al dente with excellent chew. Combined with the sauces they were all good but the pomodoro was exceptional as was the anchovy, lemon and chillies ( I like a little more heat but that was easily remedied). The chicken was also great. We tried the tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding. Both well done but neither are my favourites. Recommended!
Delighted to be a regular at Tavola! Our frequent visits are a testament to the enduring excellence in both food quality and service. The consistent perfection over the years keeps us coming back for more delightful dining experiences.
Had an awesome dinner here. The restaurant patio was comfy and gave a great view of the neighbourhood happenings. The crostini were delicious (they're happy to adjust the number (3) if it would work better for your party). Absolutely loved the mushroom/pancetta pasta - the best pasta I've had in a very long time. Daily specials, local beers on tap, friendly/efficient service. Looking forward to a return visit!
Always such a great experience here. Funky fun vibe, amazing food, good value and excellent service. We keep going at least a couple times a month. Highly recommend!!
Amazing find! Great food!
The food was the best. Douchie bartender, but thats typical. Better in the summer when the patio is open. Not a place for a quick cheap snack...stay, relax, savour the cuisine... 3 people was about $400...but well worth it! Parking: Its the West End...prepare to look for parking. Id recommend parking at the Safeway underground across the street...but it smells so bad youll likely ruin your appetite before you get to the restaurant.
The portions are great for sharing and the happy hour was really worth it. Will definitely come back.
Lovely spot! Always a great time with great food and wine. Highly recco
Best Italian I ve had in a long time - and I m from Montreal. Ordered half portions so I could try two pastas. Wish I could have tried more. Bravo!
Great food. Great service. Lovely environment. The food is so fantastic that youll want to keep going back!
Joe was so personable we moved from a table to the bar to chat. FAB food wow and a great ambience. Would recommend!!!
Always a hit! And last night didn t disappoint. The seasonal salad with squash and hazelnuts was a culinary delight. And the chicken liver crostinis yum And Bigoli meatball pasta I wanted to try the sticky toffee pudding but was too full Such a wonderful evening at Tavola.
Great food, good service. Service a bit more hipster aloof that I am used to, seems like a passé trend that s unfortunately making a comeback Overall really good > great.
Absolutely delicious. Can definitely taste the high quality.
One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver! A hidden gem in the westend. Amazing and delicious food, friendly service. Great choice for large parties - hosted my sisters 40th birthday here (party of 20) and it was perfect and well executed. Everyone left with rave reviews and happy tummies. Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating to dietary restrictions and staff are knowledgable to assist answering any questions. Parking: Surrounded by metered street parking very easy to access.
Absolutely amazing place! Service was on point, and the food was delicious!
Really fantastic food. The burrata was excellent, the pasta specials were excellent, and the wine was excellent. Service was top notch and the enclosed patio is awesome. Will definitely make this a regular spot.
Food was fantastic. Make sure to ask for Red, our server, as she was very knowledgeable and professional. She made the food and wine experience just that much better and enjoyable. Cant say enough about how good Red and the whole food experience was. Food : 5/5
Delicious experience at Tavola Restaurant, great customer service and great ambiance, totally recommended.
Great food, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere.
Vegetarian options: Forgot the name of it nut has mushrooms and cheese. No meat. Pretty good too. Food
Absolutely loved it. The service, the drinks, the food! Everything was as good as you would want. If I lived in Vancouver I would come here every weekend!
Tavola was far and away the best restaurant we tried in Vancouver during our stay. It was so good that it was the only we returned to it on the same trip; twice in 3 days! The first time we went was after walking around the entirety of Stanley Park (preceded by a walk across the length of the city). We were aching with swollen feet, exhausted, and ravenous with hunger. We started with a special cheese plate with a trio of ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, and buratta. Each was excellent but the buratta was the standout, it tasted so amazingly fresh that it just melted in your mouth. We then shared a fantastic green salad with mandarin orange slices, asparagus, and pecans. But the entrees outshined everything. My wife had the gnocchi with sage brown butter and pine nuts and each bite was like a sweet & savory piece of heaven. Mine was epic: a fettuccine with pancetta, chanterelle mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes in an olive oil base. The sun-dried tomatoes were simply the best Ive ever had, I will dream about them for quite a while. Also, they add a little flash of chile pepper that gives it just the right amount of heat which I loved. We paired the meal with some generous pours of Nero d Avola. Such a fantastic meal. The second time we had a similarly excellent experience. We werent starving this time but the food was just as good. We started with a walnut pesto Gorgonzola crostini with pear and honey. It was good if not great, just a bit dry and too heavy on the walnut and short on the cheese. Our entrees were perfect: my wife had the spaghetti with sun-dried tomatoes and I had a linguini with pancetta, chanterelle mushrooms and hints of lemon. So. Damn. Good. Last, should mention the service was good if somewhat aloof, they seemed interested in talking only with local patrons but that didnt bother us too much; we were sated with our food! We will definitely be returning here. Jul 7, 2014
Fresh pasta and pizza, very flavourful.
This is one of my favorite Vancouver restaurants. They have a small menu with little change to it throughout the year but many specials that change every day, so theyre very seasonal. Although I live for their seasonal heirloom tomato / burrata summer plate, they have many great dishes throughout the year. The decor is warm and doesnt feel at all dated despite not having changed for many years now. The tables are fairly closely packed (yet the general noise level means you dont really hear much from your neighbors, unless theyre the loud type) and there is a long communal table in the middle. I enjoy the outdoor patio the most, but its hard to come by as there are only 4 tables there. There is a curb-side patio as well that started during COVID and is still up, which is a pretty good addition because this end of Robson Street is very quiet as its mostly only used by locals. In a pinch weve also eaten at the bar, which seems to entail a dinner of extra cocktails from the excellent bartender. The location is great (though maybe a bit out of the way for those walking from deep downtown - a short Uber instead), particularly for West End locals as you can enjoy a tasty dessert and apéritif and end the evening with a nice walk around Lost Lagoon afterwards to aid with digestion.
American old-fashioned restaurant sensibility Pasta is delicious. Pasta Recommendations The steak was really the worst. Disappointing level...
Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere, friendly service and amazing food
We love Tavola for a more intimate dinner! The food is simply incredible...the gnocchi is next level delicious. They have a great wine menu, accompanied by very genuine and attentive service. The atmosphere manages a balance between bustling and chilled, and we enjoy being able to take our time and really enjoy the whole dining experience.
Seriously delicious and authentic Italian food. Simple menu; impeccable ingredients and quality. The best gnocchi and tiramisu Ive ever had.
Very nice spot, they do some lovely food. It s a tasty restaurant with a personality tucked away at the end of Denman street. Service was great. We started on the patio but then moved in because my girlfriend was getting bit by bugs, nothing you can do about that unfortunately so we moved inside. We got the tiramisu and toffee pudding. The toffee pudding was delicious, it was pudding with a cold scoop of ice cream on top in a pool of warm toffee. Highly recommend
When I tasted the water, I knew I was going to have a five star experience. Usually water obviously tastes like tap, but their stuff is clean. Food was simple but executed well. I arrived right when they opened at 5pm, and the service was rapid.
The hostess squeezed us in even though they were booked. The service was excellent and the food was amazing even though I only gave the food 4 stars. The spaghetti was a little undercooked. Not too bad though. The waitress bought us a free dessert because of it. Staff were super friendly. The atmosphere was a great vibe. I d definitely go out of my way to experience this restaurant again. The pasta is homemade as well. Enjoy
Great service, delicious food. The best gnocchi ever.
The eggs with white anchovies were great. Cocktails were ok. Wish they had better beer. Bartender seemed like he may have been sniffing snow but that ok
We just wandered and had a seat at the bar. Great chicken liver crostini, like really great. My wife had a ling cod special which was delicious, i had Campanella with mushrooms and prosciutto. bartenders were nice to visit with. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The pastas were really good but the crostinis were a little lacking
Fantastic food and great service
Was here for my daughters birthday dinner. Everything from accomodating us to a later reservation because of a change in schedule, to the service, to food, was awesome. And they let us bring in a birthday cake that was made by my other daughter for the occassion. My first time here, and Ill definitely be back.
Love this little hidden gem. Usually the food is excellent, I took a friend from visiting from Toronto there during a weekday and the food was not as great as it has been in the past. The lemon pasta was a miss and the veal was average. I will still go back, probably only on weekends. One tip- The Kale salad is amazing! Food
Lovely yummy food with excellent service.
A fantastic experience, every time I go. There s a reason it s one of the West End s busiest restaurants.
The place is a bit loud
Very busy, excellent food and the staff is first class. It s loud and a fun spot for dinner!
The best food and experience!
Independent neighbourhood restaurant, the type you d want to be a regular at. Simple ingredients and dishes that make you feel right. Service that makes you feel a little warmer than before. Extra shout out to the anchovy spaghetti and the two strangers at the bar splitting the sticky toffee pudding
Great room, great food, great service Check it out
Yummy fresh pasta! Recommend the bigoli and meatballs!
Great place! The daily specials never disappoint. Service is always on point. I love to sit at the bar with a book and a glass of red
Simply a wonderful spot to enjoy amazing food, both for couples or big groups. Not much better! Food : 5/5
Love this place. Food, winner and service is good. It was busy but then, it was a Friday evening! Very popular.
Happened to pop in here for the first time, we were fortunate to get a table. Note: Reservations were highly recommended. The place was packed and I really enjoyed the low lighting, din of the patrons and overall cozy atmosphere. The Bigoli and Spaghetti were both delicious, pasta was done perfect and the meal finished off with a deliciously smooth tiramisu. Service was fantastic, very polite team, great service right from the door to table to kitchen. If youre looking for a great Italian dinner with plenty of atmosphere, this is worth checking out. I look forward to my next visit Update: next visit was just as excellent as the first, they fortunately had a table without a reservation. Make a reservation, its easier in the long run. Fantastic food and excellent service. We will be back again
Order the dirty secret, off menu thank me later
I went there with a lot of enthusiasm to eat fresh original pasta! Unfortunately, what I ordered was not the pasta we would normally expect as it was mainly potatoes. I believe the description should have been more precise for those who are not completely familiar with the food as it was written under the category of Pasta! The food portion was relatively small! The roasted potato was very average! The resturant was very noisy! On the plus side, our host was very nice and friendly. Overall, the food was fresh and the presentation was nice but from my perspective given the small portions, it is not value for money!
I reserved a table at Tavola and was initially excited, thinking I had discovered an exciting Italian restaurant. However, I was quite honestly disappointed in the food. The servers were extremely professional and nice; I refrained from mentioning anything to avoid disappointing them, as they were doing everything right. However, I now feel like Im doing more harm than good by not addressing the food. The hazelnut gnocchi was tasteless and somewhat bitter. The only dish I would consider ordering again is the chickpea crostini. Unfortunately, the walnut crostini was not enjoyable, and the olives showed signs of going bad with brown spots on some of them. Even the fresh burrata with sea salt didnt meet expectations. To be honest, I had high expectations based on the 4.5 rating; perhaps it was just an off night, but I doubt I would plan to go back.
Not crowded, cozy place. It was our wedding anniversary and I had booked the table for us via online reservation mentioning the same. Despite of good food, amazing taste and okay service I thought like any Vancouver restaurant does special dessert surprises for birthdays or anniversaries this would be done too. To my surprise there wasnt any for unfortunately. Wish they could have done something to make our evening more special. Since it was not a crowded night as well. Theres always room for improvement. Hope they look into this and increase customer satisfaction with these small gestures. Food was good and quantity for two was also good. We ordered Crostini, fish for the day and chicken brick with some White wine.
Pasta was just okay. Service was great!
Quite a blend of a metropolitan feel with friendly, local service. Our seasonal appetizer featuring burrata, tomatoes and peaches was incredible, although the alio al oglio was a bit too garlicky (even for two massive garlic lovers.) We can t wait to come back though to try some new dishes.
Tavola has actually warm outdoor seating. It is fairly enclosed but still outdoor air circulation and we had such wonderful service and food. Phenomenal Paloma and the El Dorado cocktail was so well balanced as well. Loved our meal here.
Wonderful local dining spot tucked away in Vancouvers Westend. Great service and atmosphere. I recommend trying out the daily specials - always interesting dishes to sample.
The best restaurant on the lower mainland. The very very best service...EVER!!! Vegetarian options: The chickpea crostini is soooooo yummy Food : 5/5 |
Very nice presentation on the family-style dishes, this is a comfortable place to come for dinner with friends. They also have a nice selection of cocktails and starters. I recommend the Brick Chicken as it was the stand-out of our meal but everything was very good. Parking: Street parking
This is the best place Ive ever been in the world
These guys never fail to deliver. The food and wine is always spectacular. We had a table for six, which can be tough to get a reservation at in a small venue. Food
If you have dont been yet youre missing out! Wonderful service and amazing food! I recommend the Chicken Liver Crostini which next time Im gonna ask if I can buy a jar of the pate the Brick Chicken was to die for and the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Honestly, anything on the menu was so good! I didnt get a chance to take photos of everything we ate but Ill share whatever ones I got.
Today I went with a friend, the tall guy who was attending was very rude, and he gave everyone a table except us. We felt discriminated, very awful place, you have Nook near to it, they were so nice with us!
Because we were Latino, they didnt want to take proper care of us.
Absolutely fantastic! Food, service and drinks top notch.
Food was amazing. Service was excellent.
Shared 8 dishes between 4 of us. All agreed they were all outstanding. The prosciutto sliced to order was great. Salmon cooked to perfection. Food : 5/5
Excellent! A casual, elegant place. The service is very good and attentive. It offers a pleasant atmosphere. The food is very good. All the options we tried were very good! They are dishes with great flavor. The portions are good. Depending on the dish, it is possible to share. It seems to me that it may be important to reserve. Their prices are not low, but they are very consistent with the quality received. Recommended!
Great food
Hidden gem! Good food and always consistent service.
Amazing Italian food. The spaghetti carbonara here is the best Ive had (though it is only available during winter as a special), and the burrata with bread and olive oil is a must-have as well.
Have had several dinners here, with chances to try a decent variety of different dishes, over the last year or two. Every one of them has been of incredibly fine quality, prepared with care and skill.
Not so impressed. The meals were expensive compared to the portion we got. Very small in size, more like an appetizer for a price of the full meal. My asparagus was cold. Margaritas were sour. Staff was nice & kind, environment was pleasant.
This was the first time for me to go to this restaurant. I have been to Italian restaurants many times but this is the best place I have ever been. The atmosphere, foods and services are great! Thanks.
Delicious pasta, it was just cooked to perfection! I had the one with the pork and fennel meatballs and tomato sauce.
Great food, great ambiance and friendly staff. Their wine selection is decent and well priced. Always a fun time at Tavola!
The best experience we had for my mothers birthday! Thank you!
Forever favourite Vancouver restaurant!
Wines were good, but the food was bad and overpriced. Buratta was sour and the pasta was too simple and cost more than $25.
Visited here for date night and it was so delicious! We were seated in the patio and the atmosphere was lovely. I appreciated the cushions and throws available as well. We ordered the fresh burrata with proscuitto, a daily special proscuitto antipasto, Rigatoni Pork Ragu, and the Brick Chicken. You have to get the proscuitto & fresh burrata - they really do it well. The bread is not too toasted and the burrata is fantastic! We loved the rigatoni. The pasta had the perfect aldente bite and the sauce was packed with flavour. The brick chicken was incredible!!! I ve never tasted a sauce like the one it was served it before - I wished I had bread to soak up all that was leftover. I think it might be my favourite dish of the meal. Tavola has got classic italian food right! Everything was a hit and a really laidback and romantic atmosphere. Well worth a visit!
Burratas, crostinis, and pasta were all amazing
Food is overpriced, with very small portion. Service is lacking, unfriendly and cold. Our server is ok, but was greeted by unfriendly staff at the beginning.
We asked some locals we encountered while walking downtown for restaurant suggestions and they walked us to Tavola. Our party of 3 each had a different pasta main dish. We all thought each was the best meal weve had. DELICIOUS!!! I had the Bigoli, my sister had the mushroom pasta, Dave had the Pork Ragu.
Fantastic dinner in Tavola tonight with family and friends. We shared 2 crostinis (Walnut/Gorgonzola; Chicken liver pate) and one each of the brusettas. Gorgeous. Mixed mains, we shared the Ragu and meatballs. Gorgeous again. Very tasty food and great service by Kenton. Good portion sizes. The restaurant is very well laid too too, not at all over crowded. We had one end of the long table and were very comfortable. Highly recommend.
Such an awesome spot for a fancier dining experience. Got there around 5 and it was nice and quiet. Got busier around 630 when we left. The duck dish and the Cacio E Pepe were really great and then tiramisu to wrap it up. Got the Paper Plane and El Dorado drinks which were great. Hope to be back when next in Vancouver!
Overpriced and disappointing. The pasta had a lot of garlic in it that was nearly raw, i had a sick stomach afterwards. For the price we paid i would have expected much better food and wine.
Really wanted to love this neighborhood restaurant but was very turned off by the staff. It started with an unpleasant host who refused to sit us on the patio claiming that all the tables were reserved (two were empty the entire time we were there). Reading the other reviews, it looks like several others had an unpleasant interaction with this gentleman. When I mentioned this to our server she became very hostile and rude and came up with every possible excuse for why we could not sit there (yes, we had a reservation). At some point a worker came out of the back and started bugging a family seated next to us, claiming that he follows the husband on Insta...the worker bowed down to him several times sticking his back side on our table...super weird and creepy. The food was tasty but not remarkable. We did not stay for dessert.
Not bad but not too good.
Fantastic Restaurant. I recommend it to everyone.
We received an invitation to a birthday dinner celebration at this restaurant, and we were pleasantly amazed by the exceptional quality of the food. Despite its location, the restaurant tends to be bustling, particularly during dinner hours. Without a doubt, we will return here in the future when the chance arises.
Just happened upon this restaurant. Every dish was exceptional!
Great service and wonderful location close to Stanley Park. The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and in the summer they have a nice street patio. The burrata, anchovies on top of eggs, and rigatoni pork ragu pasta were delicious!
When the menu is very small, you expect everything to be great. It wasn t even half decent. The ricotta gnocchi with hazelnuts sounded interesting as a concept, but it just didn t work. It didn t taste good at all, and it was an incredibly small portion. A total waste of $30. My friend got the fish ($42!). Everything was over cooked and in dire need of pepper and lemon. They just don t know how to make food here. Flabbergasted at the 4.5 rating and feel it needs to be adjusted to 3.2 maximum, especially when you compare this to the other incredible restaurants we have in Vancouver.
Went for a quick meal before fireworks as friends recommended the restaurant. Ordered two very basic dishes - cacio e pepe and gnocchi. Unfortunately to our surprise, the dishes were almost inedible. An Italian restaurant that cant get pasta right is shocking. The cacio e pepe was so salty that neither of us could eat it. The gnocchi was completely tasteless. The only thing they got right was the cook of the noodles itself. Will not be returning unfortunately.
great entrees and desserts. waiter was attentive but not annoying. 4 people,4 different pastas, all were great
This is a wonderful, charming neighborhood restaurant. Best meal we had in Vancouver while visiting. We sat on a patio on the street in a lovely neighborhood. The service was friendly and professional. The crostini was reminiscent of Tuscany and the pasta with meatballs delicious. I highly recommend Tavola!
We were at Tavola at fireworks night. We had reservations, so we disillusioned have a problem getting a table, but the restaurant is quite small, I recommend to get reservations in advance. The food is really delicious. We shared the burrata and olives as apps. I had shrimp linguine (featured dish) and my husband had rigatoni. Both dishes were amazing. Service was great too and prices are reasonable.
BEST STICKY TOFEE PUDDING IN ALL OF VANCOUVER.
Never felt so unwelcome in one place before. I know we only came for dessert and coffee but definitely the host and waiter ensured we knew they werent happy about it. The coffee was burnt btw. So sad to feel like this in a place we love and used to come to all the time.
We had the burrata, gnocchi, and the pork ragu! Pasta was cooked perfect, and the gnocchi was pillowy soft with a great brown butter sauce. Would love to see pine nuts in that dish to accompany the hazelnuts! Overall, accommodating service, cute atmosphere, and great Italian food.
Very nice pasta. Delicious!
good was great and staff had a lot of initiative
Excellent pasta, salad, crostini and service was first class!
Nice ambience with good food. I really enjoyed their bruschetta.
I never had anything less than great here
Had a wonderful meal with excellent service while visiting Vancouver with my family. Highly recommend it.
Really lovely Italian place with a dog friendly patio. Service was great and the food was amazing The pesto walnut crostini is to die for, honestly my favorite dish of the night. We liked Burrata as well. pasta cacio e pepe was good, but rucola felt odd, I would prefer the original recipe. The brick chicken was really interesting They have as well very delicate and good panacotta ;) Great dinner, thank you, we will come back
Very good overall. Decent service and good quality food. Pricey overall so value was good but not great.
Absolutely FANTASTIC meal ! ! Absolutely FANTASTIC atmosphere ! ! ALL service was FANTASTIC ! ! WHAT did RUIN my birthday dinner experience was the BARTENDER ! ! ! ! Unfortunately, this evenings BARTENDER was so over the top ACTING OUT ATTENTION SEEKING BEHAVIOR , just over shadows everything thats good about your restaurant experience at Tavola ! This tattooed , super macho dude with serious attitude about himself and what he thinks was cool ... REALLY took away from a classy restaurant AND experience ! If I was a food critic or owner... Id let him go on the spot ! His ego was wayyy too out there and was really surprising and offensive ! Were local West Enders and dine at the Nook frequently and Tavola not so much because of this uncomfortable situation with this server/ bartenders behavior ! ! Its just so unnecessary and detracts from a relaxing dinning experience. We will NOT come back again if hes working ... but would rather take our business back to the Nook or other West End restaurants... and we dine out ALOT ! Money is not an issue but SERVICE with class and professionalism is ! ! ! Sad but true ... cheers.
Such an interesting little Italian hidden gem in Vancouver. Or perhaps it was just hidden for me! Husband and I shared some delicious house made pasta to start, highly recommend. Then we also shared the steak with a couple sides. All was delicious and took us back to our honeymoon in Italy. Its a cozy little space, full of pig decorations, where you can strike up a conversation with the table next to you if you so choose. Or keep to yourself, of course, but I found the closeness of the tables to almost make it awkward not to.
Excelent food
Good portions, tasty food, fast service. Service is mediocre.
Tavola has consistently impressed me over the years with its unwavering quality. Their quick and friendly service has always made my visits enjoyable, and the pleasant atmosphere only adds to the overall experience. The highlight, of course, is the delicious food. My personal favorite is the Campanelle pasta, a dish that consistently delights my taste buds. Tavola also offers an extensive selection of wines and cocktails, perfect for pairing with their mouthwatering dishes. This place offers a cozy atmosphere suitable for both romantic dates and casual gatherings with friends. The little pig figurines at Tavola are absolutely adorable and contribute to the restaurants charming and unique atmosphere.
We needed a place to eat quickly on a Saturday night with the kids. The staff were really friendly and did their best to make sure the kids had everything that they needed. We had the burrata and two different pasta dishes which were all amazing. The prices were really reasonable for the quality they offer. It was a great experience.
Gnocchi needs serious help. The specials menu is bland and nothing special. Had high hopes for this place but it was disappointing. A 4.5 rating surprises me, a bit unfair to some of the other restaurants closeby.
Great vibe, classy spot, amazing cocktails. Highly recommend.
Hidden gem in the west end. The meatball pasta was SO good. Portions are big and food is delicious everytime we go. Perfect for a date night.
Foods were good, just a bit pricey.
The kind of place when you cant decide what to eat. Crostini with blue cheese and pasta so delicious. Get the brussel sprouts - they are so good. Service excellent. A great experience.
This is such a great, cozy neighbourhood Italian restaurant and the food is always fresh, interesting, flavourful and delicious. Their pasta dishes are their signature, and they offer some favourites (ciao Pepe) along with unique ones ( Campanelle mushroom sauce). We recently had an excellent dinner with friends and everyone really enjoyed their pasta dishes. I loved the mushroom pasta, it was fabulous! We will definitely make this a regular go to restaurant. The staff are fantastic too! Vegetarian options: Crostini, salads, mushroom pasta Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta
Went for a bday dinner. Super easy to book a reso for 8 people and then expand it later. They were very accommodating. Our Server was great. Their Pork ragu rigatoni was delicious. Would recommend!
We have come here for the fourth time. Certainly a hidden gem. Love the daily special sheet. We get to try something different every time.
My first time in the dining room and it was great, food was spectacular, so were the cocktails and dessert.
Great
We had a terrific event. Well organized wedding and good service. Very amicable. Well done.
The pasta portion is generous and the beer is delicious.
Great as always
One of the best Italian restaurants in town.
Unbelievably good pasta. Great service. We will be back.
Foods great. Service depends on whos working. Sometimes its amazing. Sometimes it makes you not want to go back
Food is always good and service is awesome!!
Fabulous food, interesting flavors. The wine list has some terrific choices. Just a bit noisy. But definitely go back.
If you are looking for an Italian experience in Canada this is the place. Service, food , ambience all are exceptional and enjoyed dinner. Price wise bit on a higher side but worth every dollar.
This is casual neighbourhood charm at its best. Staff are gracious unpretentious hosts and food is delicious and well priced.
Had the gnocchi and 2 types of spaghetti. All dishes were awful and it took 40 minutes to get our food
Delicious food, friendly waiter. The restaurant itself was quite busy but everything was prompt... No long waits. Great experience. Fully recommend
Franky the food is way over priced for what you get. It is very dark and dingy inside this restaurant with loud country music. Not my cup of tea.
My favourite thing at Tavola is an egg and anchovy appetizer. Great place for a date or meal with friends. Some pasta options can be made with gluten-free pasta.
Went to Tavola s for the second time last night. They were very accommodating to change our reservation which we had planned for an earlier time. Service was very good and the food was absolutely delicious. We had two different pasta dishes for mains and an endive salad for starter. Portions are generous. Will definitely go back when. We are in Vancouver.
Best pasta I had in Vancouver. Great service as well. Now it s one of my favourite place.
If you like tomato paste on spaghetti with microwaved frozen meatballs, this is the place for you! Impressively bland food. Overpriced.
Good food when in Downtown Vancouver. Italian food and service are good.
We always go here when were in Vancouver. Always a fabulous meal. They even chased us down on the street to return something we left at the table.
We got the Rigatoni Pork Ragu and the Bilogi and Meatballs, and both were delicious. Its also family friendly with many large tables. The portions are a bit small and on the pricier side, but the servers were friendly.
Fantastic homemade pasta, excellent staff. Limited wine selection by the glass. Great outdoor space for dining.
Delicious. We were all happy with our pasta, chicken and salad.
Excellent food and outstanding service for our group of 14.
Authentic Italian food, they also have good cocktail .Its highly recommended to call for a reservation in advance.
Amazing, Ive eaten pasta in Rome that wasnt as good as this. Arrive hungry leave full cant ask for much more than that
Absolutely delicious and fresh food with a very casual vibe! They dont have a lot of menu options, but the daily specials are exciting culinary creations, and whatever else you choose is extremely fresh and flavourful! I feel like they season their food in a way to showcase the freshness of their ingredients. The way they put the dishes together really allow the ingredients to shine (both visual and taste)! The tomato medley with mozzarella was a feast for your eyes and taste buds; the chickpea and walnut crostini were creamy and intense, and the pasta dishes were as close to Italy as we could get here at home. I always get the Ricotta Gnocchi, which has a rich and savory flavor that evokes the autumn season in the woods. This is a great neighborhood gem for anyone who appreciates culinary innovations.
The place is an absolute gem. The service and food was excellent. Will definitely be going back
Great food great atmosphere. Really great
Good atmosphere and great food. Service is excellent, best pastas in the city.
Had some fantastic food here!
Fave Italian restaurant in Vancouver. We miss the guy who used to work behind the bar who left during Covid, he was the best.
A friend and I were in town for a convention and we ate here because of a recommendation from a local. We didnt have a reservation so we sat at the bar. The food and service were both excellent. Well definitely come back next time were in town.
This is an awesome Italian restaurant. It may not have a huge menu but every single item there is worth it! The ingredients of all the dishes were fresh and food was super delicious. Service is great and friendly. Highly recommended!
A little but very good Italian restaurant. Food wont disappoint and I would say its better than other more popular restaurants in downtown Vancouver. Definitely have their housemade pastas!
We had pasta among other things.. salads and drinks, ect were good, but the pasta not so much..atmosphere is very nice thou
Cant say enough good about the staff and the food
A nice little date-night spot with warm atmosphere and a surprising number of pig decorations. Food can take a hot minute to come out around Dinner hours, but we found it worth the wait!
A Neighborhood Gem that is always full because the food is absoutely beyond delicious, creative and always perfect. If you cant go to Italy right now then come here for the finest daily specials and their menu. Burratta is the best in the city, Crostini selection and my fav is walnut pesto, or the daily selection. I also enjoyed cacio e pepe and Bigoli, pork and fennel meatballs. You can watch the chef and team in the kitchen who are friendly, happy and are delighted to create the best dishes. The staff also gets a tasting bowl right after it is prepared. I also love the bartenders and the servers. It feel like you are at home. Oh, did I say they have a great wine list and cocktails you need to make a rez if not they also take walkins but it is always busy and full of happy people.
True hospitality. Incredible food, knowledge staff, kind and friendly. Highly recommend.
We loved this Italian restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. It was our first time visiting it and we thoroughly enjoyed the romantic vibe it offered. The food was flavourful especially their potato gnocchi with egg plants, olives, basil and tomatoes and Cod fish of the day from their daily specials. Chickpea crostinis were delicious as well. Our server was friendly and recommended the perfect wines to pair with our food. I definitely recommend it.
An extremely limited, expensive menu. Semi-attentive staff, ours was not engaging and rather cold. The chairs are terribly uncomfortable (I had to sit on my coat), and the restaurant is rather chilly in temperature. My pasta was undercooked, and the description never mentioned the heaps of spinach throughout my dish. Overall, a disappointment, rather unsure how they stay in business.
Too loud, bad food:(
Overpriced, pasta was tasteless, too loud seems to be impossible to have conversation. They forgot or food and over an hour later after asking we finally got our order. we had a quiet disappointing experience
The restaurant hosted the office Christmas party. Excellent service and the food was amazing.
