Great food and quick service. The place is a bit tight for comfort and the tables are almost over each other.

Open till 11pm got there at 10:15 already said they were closed unfortunately.

Love this place when eating in every thing is great, but they never pick up any calls when I try to adjust pick up time for take out orders I sometimes forget to adjust pick up time and I try call but they never pick up

Is one of the most famous ramens in Vancouver but it is not so tasty, probably not really hand made noodles. I loved the pork & rice bowl

They always expect a big tip regardless of their service, which wasnt great. Who says that people have to leave 15% of their bill as a tip. If everyone will leave 15 or 25% of their bill as a tip, no one will eat out again and keep any food business open. This toxic tipping culture has to stop. The owners of food resturants need to pay the waitress from their revenues, not from people pockets. Enough is enough. I will never go back again.

Very crowded during meal time There is a set meal discount before 17:00 on weekdays I chose the set menu of dumplings (three pieces) and mini rice bowl. The ramen is delicious. The soup and noodles taste very similar to the familiar Ichiran. The filling of the dumplings is pure meat, not fishy and very juicy. The rice bowl is very ordinary and the roasted pork has a very authentic and salty Japanese taste.

Very good choice of tasty ramen and many options of toppings. The staff is very friendly. Small number of tables inside, usually a 30-40 minutes wait outside Food : 5/5

Highly recommend, go and enjoy your ramen cravings. They prepare meals to your liking with such an adjustable menu which make each dish special in its own way. Potentially I am biased against this place as I dont particularly find hakata style ramen to be that good. The ramen is good, its executed well, and is maybe on par with or better than ichiran. The problem is ichiran is also kind of middle of the road as well. It is one of the better options in Vancouver, but if you are at all familiar with the ramen available in Tokyo youll probably be disappointed. The main downside for me is just that you almost always need to line up. If you happen to be passing by and there is no line its worth it but otherwise I think you are better off stopping by one of the other nearby shops.

Top Ramen in Vancouver

The classic ramen was fantastic! Got the egg and two extra chashu slices. Only waited about 5 min on a Wednesday around 1:30pm.

I have been here a couple of times and really like all their vegan options. Especially, the curry ramen season is one to wait for! Although this location is bigger than the one in Kits and has faster service, you ll still have to wait in line for at least 30 mins even on weekdays. But again, that s a testament to their popularity in town! The biggest drawback in my opinion is them not having any options for Chicken Ramen or Karaage and not having Paitan style Ramen. Otherwise, a great place for ramen in town! Vegetarian options: There s a whole vegan menu with the same style of Ramen!

I visited Ramen Danbo on Robson and waited about 30 minutes to get in. The line moved faster than I expected, but timing is key if I had arrived a bit later, the wait would have been much longer. I ordered ramen and a side of rice, and surprisingly, the rice came out first. When the ramen arrived, it was so delicious that I forgot to take any photos! I usually avoid places with long lines, but the flavor of the ramen makes me want to return though I m hesitant about the wait. This is a fast-paced restaurant focused on turnover, so it s not the place for a leisurely meal. However, the staff didn t rush or pressure us at all. For authentic Japanese ramen, this place is unbeatable. Highly recommend it!

Amazing Ramen. Would definitely recommend the Negi-Goma Ramen. The medium is actually pretty spicy, so be forewarned.

One of the best spots in downtown. Rain or shine there is ALWAYS a line outside, so plan accordingly. But it is well worth it - food is cheap and flavours are amazing. If you come in solo, you might get a spot faster than everybody else. If i may recommend: get Rekka ramen.

Great place for Ramen

I didnt go because I didnt want to wait, but I went today because the line was short. It was nice to be able to choose the level of spiciness, thickness of noodles, and richness of soup. The gyoza was not as good as I thought. (personal preference) Recommended menu: Enjoy with additional options. Spicy Classic Ramen Its a good place to go when the line is short. Orders many times, rekka, classic and shio ramen. taste is above average. I love their shio ramen, usually add rekka (spicy souce). Soft boiled egg is good, perfectly cooked, but its overly charged. price is okay, but if you have add-ons, the price will become increasingly expensive. I order as going to restaurant may takes at least 1 hrs waiting outside. inside is very crowded and lots of noises.

It s delicious, and the family can enjoy it. I think it ranks second among all the ramen I ve ever eaten (the first place is a restaurant called Arashi on Vancouver Island). I arrived around 4 p.m. and waited for 5 minutes before going in. The queue started to form as soon as I finished eating (around 4:25 pm). I recommend thick noodles + slightly hard noodles (I don t like thin noodles, and I have the illusion of eating longevity noodles...). The barbecued pork is a bit soft and not grilled. The soup base tastes good, it would be better if there were dried bamboo shoots in the side

The wait is so worth it for Danbo! Lived in Japan for a couple of years and loved Danbo there. The Danbo here is just like it!

I always see a line up outside of Danbo. I never wanted to wait but luckily was able to grab a table at opening with no wait! The service and atmosphere was great! Food was good too although I find it hard for me to justify waiting in line when there are so many other great ramen places nearby. Granted, I m also getting older and a bit more impatient. Would visit again!

We were recommended this place from a friend and even before being recommended, I was curious to check this place out. We arrived here in Vancouver and after landing and putting our things away, we came directly here. Upon arrival there was a long line, and even in the rain! But while waiting an employee handed us menus to pick and customize our orders. I liked how efficient they were. Also if people were willing to stand and wait in line for 45 minutes in the rain, they had to be worth it lol. And for me, it definitely was. I got the Regular Miso Ramen with a Vegan broth and tofu. I ordered it with thick noodles and got everything else as Standard for Step 2. Since we were there for lunch, I got Lunch Set Special A with Vegan Gyoza and Soft Boiled Egg + Nori for my 2 sides. It was delicious. I was so impressed with how rich the broth was. It was flavorful, rich, and had a good umami taste. Tofu texture was good, I had more tofu pieces than I expected. Also the noodle texture was amazing too. Everything about the ramen was executed so well and perfectly. I wanted to savor every single bite of food I ate. I ordered another half serving of noodles after, I felt like the half serving price was very reasonable too ($1). Gyozas were very delicious too. I loved the crispiness on the outside and the filling was good. The overall total was pretty pricey for the two of us, which I think was due to the add-ons we got. But overall, I was very impressed with the quality and our food. Amazing ramen place, Im happy to start off my Vancouver trip with this. Id definitely come back here and recommend this to everyone.

Can easily see why this is the go-to Roman place in Vancouver. We went twice and on both days experienced a short wait - the line moves very efficiently. You select everything you want from a sheet of paper from the soup to the noodles to toppings and everything comes out perfectly as selected. Youre in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Consistent offerings all around the world. Had this in NY, Seattle, Tokyo and its the same . If you never had Danbo.. you are missing out

Solid fairly consistent ramen with customizations. Love their Shio and Classic ramen but this time I tried the Negigoma and it s very fragrant of roasted sesame very delicious! If you don t want to wait in line outside, check out Hokkaido Ramen Santouka just a few blocks down Robson St. It s also really good and authentic!

Its such a long wait to go in, but its completely worth it! I was so hungry that I asked to get some gyosas right away and explain why to the waitress, and my food came in 2 seconds. I was truly happy eating at Danbo :)

The best ramen I have ever tasted in my entire life and one that I will hardly beat. The seasoning is unmatched and so are the options to customize it! For this reason it is constantly full and you have to wait for tables to become free, which is a problem because it is always raining but they give you umbrellas for the wait, they think of everything! The cost seems low to me for what it is so it is very worth it! Dont miss it! Even though youd think ramen isnt local, youd be missing out on potentially the best ramen youll ever have.

Surprisingly mediocre ramen! It wasnt particularly interesting or flavourful. I was suprised because theres always crazy lines outside but you can get a far better bowl at Santouka or many other ramen spots around here.

Always consistent and on point. Theres a reason for that huge lineup while other places have seats available...Ramen Danbo never disappoints!

Ramen Danbo never fails to disappoint. Even though they are a chain all of their locations that Ive been to have been good. Ambience: its a small Ramen shop and so there is always a wait. Theres usually a line up the street but they try to keep it moving. We waited for about 45 minutes around 7 PM on a weekend. They do give you menus outside, so you get to talk about what you want and so youre ready when you get in. Food: some people got the miso Ramen and some people got the sesame Ramen, which is the fourth option and everything was really yummy. We tried both the standard noodles and the thin noodles and I think in this case I like the thin noodles better and having it slightly firm, added to the texture and taste of the Ramen. the Jammy egg was perfection and some of the best Ive had. The pork belly was really yummy and I do not regret getting the extra slices. YouYou can never have too much pork belly. I like how they allow you to get a second order of noodles for only a dollar for half portion or two dollars for a full portion. Definitely get the full portion and soak up every last drop of your broth. The Donburi Was also very yummy and the pork was delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend this place because everything is just quality and yummy and the wait is definitely worth it.

Soup is to die for, noodle is fresh and the egg nice and soft, meat and garnish is heavenly. What to say more. Polite and respectful staffs get you in in a cozy resto. Expect to wait since this place is little cramped. Wish they expanded into bigger space. Other than that golden.

Had the classic with thin noodles, spicy, 6 slices of pork and the pickled veg and an egg. I don t know what the pickled veg was but it was so good. Best ramen I have ever had hands down and I will be back multiple times in the future.

Its an ordinary restaurant. Vegetarian options: It was a vegetarian menu instead of meat broth, but it was delicious. Parking: Its hard to find.

Get ready to line up for some yummy ramen! I love that they have a vegan menu. The ramen itself was delicious with flavourful broth. I had the miso and it was the right amount of savoury! Gyoza are alright but the star of the show is really the ramen. Service is friendly especially considering how busy it gets. Get ready to wait for a while in line outside particularly if you re a larger group.

My first time visiting the place, and it already had a line going out the door, the service was great, with all the staff being nice and trying to help whenever possible. The food arrived decently fast and was delicious. I would definitely come again.

Absolutely the best ramen Ive ever eaten! The queue at the entrance speaks volumes for the quality of this restaurant. And the price is super affordable. The order is made using a piece of paper to tick off your wishes. This was already distributed outside in the loft, which made it quicker afterwards. In terms of ambience, its more of a snack bar but the quality of the food totally makes up for it.

I visited several times, but the noodles came out undercooked, probably because there were a lot of customers on a rainy day. I spoke to the staff, but they didnt understand, so I translated it into Japanese and showed it to them, and they asked if I wanted it again, so I got it again. The recooked ramen wasnt that good, so I threw it away after only a few bites. The staff never checked, and it was unpleasant to see staff constantly looking at our table from the corner of their eyes. It was such a waste to pay more than $15, and my memory of the delicious ramen also turned into a bad one, so I dont think Ill ever visit again. I dont think that just because the store is busy doesnt mean its going to be difficult for customers.

Made a visit here for the first time while visiting BC and it was delicious. There was a line, but waited about 20 minutes. The staff hands a menu while you re waiting to decide what you would like to order. They send your order in and by the time you are seated it is already ready to serve.

This is now my go to ramen place as the noodles are always firm and the broth always have hit the spot. Even though the line can be long its sure worth the wait as the amount of customization you can have on a simple bowl of noodles. Lastly this place is extremely affordable as one bowl will only set you back 13 to 15 dollars and you can get more noodles for one or two dollars. It is the best Ramen in Vancouver, you can order it totally to your liking, the only thing I dont like is that the restaurant is always in rush and they dont let you stay that long. You have to have your order ready before entering so that as soon as you enter they take your order, you arrive, you eat and you leave. It is not a restaurant to go with friends to have a good time

A cozy ramen shop nestled in Vancouver, featuring traditional Tonkotsu ramen. We had the classic chashu-men and miso chashu-men with soft boiled egg and kikurage. The broth was rich, noodles perfectly firm, and the portions were generous. Although I couldn t finish it, the flavor was amazing. Perfect for a casual lunch with friends. Definitely worth a visit if you re near Stanley Park!

Delicious. You can also add noodles to fill your stomach. The gyoza wasnt as crispy as I expected so I didnt like it. I went at 10:40 on a weekday and was the 4th person to go in. A little after 11 oclock, the line started to get longer.

Not worth the 1hr wait. As soon as your done your food they hand you the bill and pretty much kick you out. They also don t refill your water. The ramen was good but not great. The gyoza were nothing special.

The best ramen we ve ever had so far, totally authentic, incredible quality of ingredients, especially the broth and the noodles. It was so good that we realized we had never had actual authentic ramen before, even coming from Portland, OR, where ramen is really a must to have.

The Ramen here is consistent and tasty, i waited 30 minutes at 430 to get a table alone but they hand out the order form and a pencil so you can have your order ready once you get a seat which speeds up the wait time. Real Japan Ramen

Our go-to when it comes to delicious yet affordable Ramen cravings. Haven t been to the other branches but this one in Robson always has a long line of people waiting outside. But it does not take us forever to wait for our turn though so we don t mind.

After reading so many good reviews we decided to try here. The line wasnt too long outside but it did still take 20-30 minutes of waiting. We got to get menu outside so they could start it right away after being seated. Enjoyed the ramen!

The price is not expensive and the soup base tastes good. There are not many places in the store and you need to queue up during meal times.

Decent ramen and gyoza. Please noted that I m not Japanese so I can t really comment on authenticity of the ramen. I think it s good, just not worth the 30 minutes wait standing in the line (personal opinion here). There are a few options to choose from on the menu and we ordered different things. I have tried them all and I would say they all are good. The restaurant is quite small and very busy. The service was ok considered how busy they were we didn t get our water refilled. The place is nice and clean but the fact that we felt guilty for people waiting in the line outside, we were kind of rush through our meal (again, this our problem rather than the restaurant s) Vegetarian options: There are vegan ramen options

I decided to go to Ramen Danbo since I m visiting Vancouver and I saw many reviews saying that it s a top location for Ramen. And yes, it was true. The ramen was excellent! As for the gyoza not much but still wanted to try them. I went with the pretty standard choices. Only regret is that I didn t take my noodles softer but it was still very delicious and tasty.

Be patient, the food is well worth the wait. Our vacation group arrived for an early dinner and found the wait to be 45 minutes to an hour, which was typical I am told. However, we were a party of six, so I believe that made it take longer for that much space to open up. They provided umbrellas while we waited in the drizzly Vancouver mist. They also handed out order slips while we waited so we could figure out what we wanted to eat in advance.

Went around 9pm on a Monday and was surprised there was a line, waited for 10mins which wasn t that bad. Ordered the pork donburi and negi-goma Ramen, the pork was so delicious but the negi-goma ramen wasn t for me.

A small ramen joint selling Fukuoka-style Japanese ramen. Space is limited so there is always a line up outside during busy hours. Prices are around $12 if you just get the normal ramen and it comes with two pieces of pork. You can either get a vegan or pork-based broth. You can also customize noodle thickness, soup thickness, etc. to be more customized to your taste. You can add boiled egg, and Karaage, gyoza, and other items for additional fees. Worth it if the line up is not super long.

Best ramen I ve had in Canada! 10/10 Took the miso broth vegan ramen and it was delicious. I really appreciate the vegan option. You can customize the ramen to your liking. I added a regular soft boiled egg instead of a vegan egg. It was really delicious! Expect a lineup but it moved pretty fast. Waited about 30minutes. One of the best ramens Ive tried here in Canada.

There are several Ramen places in Vancouver and I never went to Danbo because of the line up. Friends visiting from out of town had it on their must try list. So we took a few cold beers and lineup on Robson. It took about 25 min. As you get closer, they provide some self serve menu / order sheet and pencils. Basically you fill in what you want, so somewhat a La carte. I had the regular with spices, added eggs, pickled veggies, rich broth and thin noodles. All of those are options. In conclusion, they are good, especially if you are vegetarian.

I didnt expect to love ramen this much !! The line is long so do not come if you are already hungry. While waiting, servers will give you menu and help you with questions. Service was great as well! I d recommend and visit again if I have a chance

Best ramen I ve ever had! The noodles were fresh and the service is quick and sweet. A little after 1pm is a sweet time of no line up during the weekdays. The portions are a little small but the price matches up to that so no complaints!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the area and were pleasantly surprised! Despite the initial line, we were seated quickly thanks to the efficient staff who took orders while we waited. The ramen was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive. Wed definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great authentic ramen!

Queuing up at a ramen shop, the soup is rich and authentic Japanese barbecued pork ramen.

If anyone has been to Tokyo in either Shinjuku or Shibuya, youll remember the popular franchise Ichiran Ramen. This is probably the closest re. taste, noodle quality, and broth richness than any ramen restaurant in Vancouver Ive been to. Its not to discredit the other ramen restaurants because they have their own unique flavors and style. However, after eating constantly at Ichiran, you memorize the taste etc. and this place reminds me of Tokyo. Amazing place. I come here way too much everytime I visit.

The food is great and very tasty. But theres too many FLIES! We sat at the bar section in front of the kitchen, and there were a lot of fruit flies clawing into the food. We ordered an add-on egg, but we saw the box of pre-prep eggs in front of us was full of fruit flies! W The whole meal we had was amazingly tasty, but we were so bad at waving those flies away... thats such ashamed as a Japnenes restaurant to have such hygiene standards. Obviously the staff knows very well about the situation. We talked to some waiters, and they just gave us an embarrassed smile. Apparently, this is not a single case, I also talked to some of my friends who also love going to this restaurant. They also said they saw a lot of fruit flies. Really hope the restaurant can deal with the problem and we will definitely visit again for those yummy ramen!

Im surprised by them charging each topping for a ramen.... First of all, we had to wait outside a bit for a seat, which is normal for a ramen shop in dt. Servers were very friendly greeting up with a menu ordering sheet, which gives some instructions on how to order food there. The sheet listed out some ramen items with no descriptions, like you cant tell whats in a certain ramen. Then we see there is a section showing some topping options for extra charge...we suspect there would be enough toppings on a bowl of ramen that we need any extra topping? But there was no servers to explain these of course. Not to mention this ordering sheet is very badly design, there are some not very common Japanese words with no English translation, we dont know kikurage or karashi Takara without going on Google translation. Of course there was no servers to explain to us since we are just customers waiting outside. This menu makes extremely inconvenient and confusing to read... When we finally got our seats, the servers took the order sheets and went straight to order...though I thought from my experiences of eating ramen these years, a shio ramen would go wrong, and normally a standard one comes with enough toppings for my appetite, so I didnt bother with adding any extra toppings. Surprisingly, the ramen came, with only two pieces of chasu and some onion...and the broth is extemely salty, not a fan of the noodle texture either. But I have to applause their chasu was done perfectly, in both the texture and flavors. Overall, not a fan of them charging for every topping, but I guess its way to show even more extension on customization. However, a suggestion for the restaurant: the menu sheet needs to show more clarification and inclusions (I dont think everyone understands every Japanese words here in Vancouver) Vegetarian options: They have a separate ordering sheet for vegetarians.

Pretty good if you dont have to wait

We waited for about 10-15 minutes for the seat and it was definitely worth the wait! It was one of the best ramen I ve had in Vancouver! I m not a ramen person, but I still sometimes craves for this bowl of ramen. The thickness & firmness of the noodles and richness of the broth were customizable which was a nice touch. Ramen was very delicious, but gyoza was just alright. This restaurant is very small and crowded, so the dining experience isn t the best. If you re looking for a nice place to dine and have a casual night with friends, there are many other ramen restaurants around the area. But if you re looking for a very tasty and fulfilling bowl of ramen, this is definitely the go-to place!!!

These ramen are absolutely worth the wait in line! The flavors are incredibly rich, the broth is perfectly seasoned, and the noodles have just the right amount of bite. If you find yourself wanting more, just ask for kaedama an extra serving of noodles, either half or full! The most comforting bowl of happiness I never expected to have.

Well known place among locals, very small place with one of the best ramen in the city. Always there is a line, shorter for lunch longer for dinner. They give you a sheet with the options and you fill it up while you re in the line. You have to try the gyozas oh, and they have vegan options

i love danbo i go here everytime i visit vancouver the broth is sooo deep and creamy omfg like im a chronic broth drinker but the broth here i can down in one go (but i dont cause i wanna savour it) the lines are usually long unless you arrive ahead of time. the lil ramen order form was really cute and the service the was also great!!

I ordered Vegan Negi-goma Ramen which was delicious and delivered hot & spicy just the way I like it The staff were so attentive & the atmosphere was amazing. Totally worth the one hour wait time.

We knew we needed to try ramen in Vancouver but with a four year old on our last night in town, we were not going to be able to wait in line for another sit down restaurant. Instead we ordered take out! It was amazing! The broth is unbelievably good and my son called it his favorite meal ever! Dont let the lines stop you from trying Danbo!

The atmosphere is simple and basic, but the service is top-notch - warm, friendly, and lightning-fast. We appreciated the option to make our meal more substantial with a drink and gyozas at a cost-effective price. The ramen exceeded our expectations! My husbands non-vegetarian ramen and my vegan ramen were both delicious, leaving us extremely satisfied. The customization options and generous portions made it well worth the hype, especially considering the price point. Highly recommended to everyone visiting Vancouver!

This is a restaurant where you usually have to wait in line, but fortunately we didnt have to wait long. It is a system where you select the type of noodles, broth strength, toppings, etc. to order. The portion was not large and the taste was just right.
