I had an amazing dinner the other night at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar in Vancouver. Food, Service and overall ambiance were all amazing. My all time favorite Lagavulin 16yr from Islay had to be the starting point of this great dinner. Next I had an amazing dish of seared scallops, chiang mai sausage and eggplant with a red curry sauce and lemongrass rice pilaf….. Paired with Tantalus, a Riesling from the Okanagan. Next was a fresh caught fillet of Halibut with a bone marrow crust in a brown butter and ink sauce. That was paired with 2 glasses of a Garnier & Fils Chardonnay from Chablis. Dessert was epic. One of the most elegant dishes I have ever seen and tasted. crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Kenta Takahashi, recognized as Canada’s Best Pastry Chef in 2024, 2023, and 2020. It was a jasmine panna cotta, lychee, mango jelly, banana, pineapple compote and jasmine ice cream. Beautifully floral. Now that was paired with the star of the night. A beautiful Muscat de Beaumes De Venise….. An Elegant dessert wine. Second best to my favourite Vin De Constance by Klein Konstantia. Special Thank you to Marshall, the person who graciously guided me through my dinner and extended his impeccable service to myself. If you ever find yourself in Vancouver and want to treat yourself and the ones you love to a great culinary experience, I highly recommend it.

After hearing great things about this place and its renowned food, my first visit was exceptional. Naturally, I was excited to return, especially since it was for a special occasion—my anniversary. The evening started with a prompt greeting, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. We were seated in a secluded corner, which felt a bit forgotten. It took about 10 minutes just to get water, and as the evening went on, I had to flag down servers to get any attention. It was a busy night, which I understand, but the service felt inattentive overall. We ordered the seafood tower, octopus, steak, and sablefish. The seafood tower was incredibly fresh, and the sablefish was beautifully tender, melting in the mouth like butter. However, the octopus and steak were disappointing. The octopus, priced at $28, didn’t feel worth it—the presentation was lovely, but the flavors were overly bitter and salty. The steak tasted tough and lacked quality, more like grocery-store meat. We wanted to mention these issues but had trouble reaching a server, so we ate them anyway due to hunger. One bright spot was the complimentary anniversary dessert, which was a nice touch and tasted fantastic. Our total came to $300 with tip, which felt steep, although the seafood tower and sablefish were standout dishes. I’d definitely recommend this place for the seafood tower and sablefish, as they’re truly delicious! However, I'm unsure about returning, given the high price and my mixed experience with other dishes and the service.

Great place to enjoy a fine dinning meal. The service was great. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Gave good recommendations. The scallops and sable fish were the dinner highlights and the kids Sunday along with the pecan banoffee crisp were the dessert picks.

I visited Boulevard with my partner to celebrate her birthday dinner here. The food and drinks were delicious. They have a comprehensive wine list and the servers are very helpful with finding the right match for your meal. They offered us veggie shots and dessert, on the house knowing we were celebrating a birthday, which was very thoughtful.

5/1/2024 4:30pm to 6:30 pm (for wedding anniversary) Great food and great service!!! If you plan to dine in for a special event, this is the best place!!! We loved our 2 servers… (these 2 ladies I forgot their names) they informed us details of each food they were serving, and they are very attentive to our needs. They are humble, kind, friendly, approachable. Top class service was provided to us even though me and my husband were dressed simple. It means, they treat everyone the same and not based on your status. And that’s how restaurant servers should be. And that’s what people will love the best, the excellent service! My husband and I left with smile on our faces… this restaurant is on the top 1 of my list of best restaurants. Thank you all so much! Please continue to give great experience for everyone ❤️ Edited: Add: I forgot to write a review about the food… I would say, nothing can go wrong to any food that will be ordered here… The Blvd Kitchen and Oyster Bar is a Michelin guide recommended restaurant All the food we ordered here are really great… We also ordered food for take out on another day.

This place has a large variety for happy hour. Great prices as well. The regular menu and specials are a tad on the pricier side, but the quality is good. You get what you pay for. The ravioli special was excellent, even though it's was $40 for a piece. The piece was much bigger than regular ravioli though. Service was very attentive, and the restaurant was fancy. I would definitely come back.

This is a 5 star experience all around! The food is just incredible and the service is great. I’d suggest making a reservation toward the end of happy hour to enjoy the appetizers and drinks on special and roll into dinner for your main dish. The raw oysters are SO fresh! The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked (not a large portion). You must try the blue fin tuna…it’ll melt in your mouth. Same with the tuna tataki. I can’t wait to get back here for more soon!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My recent dining experience at Boulevard was nothing short of exceptional. Here's why I highly recommend it: Food Quality: The food at Boulevard is simply outstanding. Each dish was meticulously crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was a delightful experience. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was exquisite. The staff went beyond for our desserts made a gorgeous platter for our celebration. Service: The service here is top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous throughout the entire meal. He was quite funny and chatty. He ensured our glasses were never empty, and checked in on us at just the right moments without being intrusive. It truly enhanced our dining experience. Ambiance: The decor at Boulevard was pleasant enough, with comfortable seating and a cozy atmosphere. However, it didn’t quite stand out compared to other restaurants in the area. Overall Experience: Boulevard really exceeded my expectation. The combination of exceptional food and impeccable service makes it a standout choice for fine dining. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their culinary offerings. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience. If you appreciate fine dining at a reasonable price and impeccable service, Boulevard is definitely worth a visit.

Not sure what the hype is about. Was excited to try Boulevard because of the Michelin recommendation and came away disappointed for two main reasons. First, my service was not great. The server would leave for long gaps, and I spent several times looking around trying to get his attention to order drinks or additional food. His demeanour also wasn t engaging or warm. Seems he wanted to speak with me the bare minimum no matter how much I tried to strike up some banter or a conversation. Second, the food wasn t any better than I can get at any number of similar restaurants which don t have a Michelin recommendation. The one exception was the pavlova, which I thought was terrific. Overall, I will not be back nor would I recommend it to friends.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar consistently impresses with its exceptional service and culinary excellence. Yanal, Andre, Jameson, Christina, Michaela and Brittney provide attentive and friendly service, making every visit memorable. The reception area features a charming Taylor Swift face, adding a fun touch to the ambiance. Under the orchestration of Chef Roger Ma, the restaurant delivers impeccable dishes that reflect meticulous attention to detail and quality. As a seasoned foodie, I can confidently say Boulevard ranks among the best in the city for its consistency and generosity, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking fine dining in Vancouver.

Wine list impressive but 3.5x markup is hard to take. Bread was good, though a bit chewier than it should be. Mains were good, but not great. Flank steak disapointing and over-priced. Oysters were good. Dessert was pricey but good. Service was quite good until a drink was forgotten. Ambience and atmosphere was fine, nothing special. Overall, its fine...but the bill is a bit high.

Food was great. Just wasn t a Michelin experience. We received attention until we got our food, had a quick quality check, and then had to wait sometime for the server to come back. We previously expressed to the server we had a show at a set time and needed to ensure we would be out by then. But we ended up waiting 15 minutes for our change back. For the price we paid, would ve liked to have a better experience. The food was amazing though. It was just disappointing that we had spent quite some money at the hotel and restaurant to not receive quality service.

So we had a wait to check in for The Sutton Place and after a long flight came in for a bite to eat. This is a seafood restaurant and everything had a seafood touch. We ordered the omelette with scallops. It was cooked perfectly. The scallops melted in your mouth. Tender with a lovely crust. The Trioler bacon was thick and a delight for the tastebuds with a bit of sweet on top. My husband also got a Liege waffle with whipped cream and caramel bacon. Decadently yummy! The dessert oh my! We ordered the panna cotta. Beautiful presentation! Explosions of flavor in every bite. Amazing textures. It was definitely the best we have ever had (and we were in Italy 2 months ago!) If you only come for the dessert it is worth it. It just upped the bar for any other dessert. Hubby also had a latte which he said was really good. Service was fantastic.

While I strive to simply appreciate whatever good fortune and hard work bring my way, I still suffer an unconscious inclination to critique (myself mostly,) always reflecting on how something can be improved. Not so during dinner at Boulevard last night I was far too busy enjoying the entire experience. Every single moment was another to be thankful for the attentive and friendly service, to enjoy a shared spontaneous smile with my partner as we were struck by how surprisingly delicious a particular bite was, or to appreciate the passion and talent that went into everything that was brought to our table. In short, it was an utterly perfect evening. The hostess and wait staff were all the picture of friendly professionalism, and our server s eloquent description of the daily halibut special was all we needed to decide. Cornbread is an uncommon feature on the starter menu, so we started there, and were so glad we did. The basket of cornbread muffins exceeded our expectations. Every bite was enjoyed with little smear of salted butter, and our mmmmmm noises were likely heard across the courtyard. This was followed closely by a special treat from the kitchen a pair of potato puff pastries filled with pureed mushrooms. We popped them in our mouths and looked at each other with a bit of awe over just how much flavour could be delivered in so small a treat. Next came the halibut, and again, the presentation was artful, yet without a single superfluous garnish everything on the plate added a unique flavour such that its inclusion made that bite unique and delightful. Kirsten and I each had our own favourite bites, but mine was one that included a generous bit of sauce along with a baby leek. Writing this now, my mouth is watering for a second helping. Were a spatula provided with the tableware, we d surely have scraped the last of the sauce off the plate like kids going at the last bit of cookie dough in the mixing bowl. But the culinary celebration wasn t done executive pastry chef Kenta Takahashi had a final treat for us a collection of his enticing treats that provided ample evidence for why he s been crowned Canada s best pastry chef two years in a row. I can t describe each treat properly, so the photos will have to do, and yes they re as good if not better than the photos suggest. A perfect coda to an utterly perfect meal. If you ve yet to add Boulevard to your date-night list, I strongly urge you to do so soon. You can find a different dinner experience around Vancouver, but you won t find better. We ll certainly be back soon.

Food was good, service was horrible and not justa little bass. It was so horrible that we left as quickly as we could instead of lingering to enjoy our experience. The food and drinks were great but our waitress negated all that with her rude behavior and uncaring demeanor. Not sure how she is able to work there, hopefully just a bad night and not the usual service level they provide. She started out a little snooty and seemed annoyed when asked about questions on the menu. She repeatedly walked away in the middle of taking orders without explanation. She mostly ignored one side of our table and by the end of dinner she was downright rude. It was really bizarre. While we love great food, she made it a bad enough experience that we won t be back. I won t recommend it at most price points and certainly not for fine dining/special occasion.

A visit to the Boulevard It s probably been a decade since I was last here. This place is situated on the ground level and front side of the Sutton Hotel on Burrard Street. There are pay street parking or pay parkades available in the surrounding area. Inside radiants that simple yet elegant layout and atmosphere, however, the noise level could be a bit high (yes noise level of a pub from all the office workers). After being seated and glancing through the menu, here were the food I ordered; 1. Strawberry spritz drink. A light refreshing little drink. 2. Blue fin tuna sashimi. The ponzu sauce was okay, it s the Akami part of the tuna but it was quite fresh. However the tiny little crunchy potato was a jawbreaker so be careful of that, don t break a tooth lol. 3. Seafood tower for 2. Everything was decently fresh and good except for the snow crab legs, they were dry, powdery and tasteless (precooked snow crab legs are hard to get the meat off and never good, restaurants should stop using them perhaps Dungeness crabs are a better choice?!?) 4. BLVD baked oysters. They were okay but personally not a fan of bread crumbs (yes I understand it soaks up the taste and add to the flavour but not fond of the texture). 5. Brant Lake wagyu beef carpaccio. The ingredients were well in harmony with each other without sacrificing the fresh taste of the wagyu beef, plus the deep fried rice paper was so delicate yet able to hold the carpaccio together. Very nice! Probably one of the better beef carpaccio I had. 6. Prime striploin. It was done medium rare but a bit on the powdery side, missing that nice grilled texture and flavour (was my steak cooked Sous Vibe?). 7. Charred broccolini. Pretty straightforward side dish. 8. Bon Bon service dessert. It was okay and pretty basic. Was expecting it a bit more considering best pastry chef in the last 3 years? Overall, a very nice and simple yet elegant dining atmosphere. I can imagine it s a suitable place for most occasions or for a date night. The food quality was decent except for the steak which I wish didn t have that powdery texture taste on the outside. Price wise it s on par with similar surrounding restaurants. As for the service, it was actually pretty good! I am somewhat amazed how the staffs conduct themselves especially our server (Scarlet) who was so smooth and fluent in her fine dining skills (thanks for changing cutleries and plates in between courses plus clearing off any crumbs off the table). I would definitely be back to the Boulevard and recommend this place, if you haven t been here before, give this place a try (reservation is recommended).

Food is exquisite, but the wait time to get our food was outrageously long. The price is somewhat on par for the food, but not on par for the customer service. Overall, would not pay to come here because the service lacked. Ribeye steak was not very flavourful so I would not recommend it. Truffle fries, brocollini, asparagus, salad were all really great and recommended. Pretty environment but loud.

This upscale restaurant is located inside the second place hotel, which is directly located downtown Vancouver. This restaurant keeps reinventing itself and the menu changes constantly. This time we had dinner inside one of the large private rooms as we had a presentation ahead of the dinner. The private room itself is excellent for gathering such as this as it has two separate screens for PowerPoint presentations and is quiet enough away from the main restaurant that, you can hear the speaker without problem. There s also two large long tables to eat apple numbers of gas. Of course the food here for the menu was excellent. This time. I had cod for dinner. Inside was elegant, wood, paneling, and chandeliers and modern decor. The Restaurant and Hotel are extremely clean and bright. It s very popular both hotel and restaurant so best to make reservations. There is parking on site. Will definitely come again.

The food is spectacular. Everything I had was so delicious. We could see the threads of saffron in the octopus. Drinks were great too! Cool desserts. The issue was with our service. Everyone minus our direct server was lovely. She kept disappearing in the middle of taking orders and was generally not pleasant. Dishes would be mixed up between people. (The people who brought them out were apologetic about this). The worst was when we questioned how much longer for our dessert. (We ordered ice cream, it took 15 minutes) Instead of apologizing she said other orders were rung in first. No apology. As someone who is a waitress herself, I would not treat customers at such a fine establishment like this.

We had breakfast at the Sutton Boulevard Kitchen and it was decidedly disappointing. The service was spectacular, and cannot be faulted. The food however was extremely poor quality. I have a pork allergy and the buffet had no substitutions for the accommodation of this allergy. The selection of options was meagre (4 hot options and minimal fruit and cold cut options) and the quality of the food was mediocre. For a higher end hotel this was not anticipated. We would not dine here for breakfast again.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, my experience was marred by the service. Despite mentioning that it was a business dinner when I reserved a table, our server seemed to have missed this detail. Throughout the evening, she constantly interrupted our conversation and rushed us into making meal choices. Even after we requested to wait before ordering mains after appetizers, she insisted we order immediately, disregarding our preferences. At one point, the situation became so frustrating that we contemplated leaving. My rating: 9.4/10. Very high quality North American continental and European fusion kind of restaurant. The service is exceptional, atmosphere is very nice and eloquent, and it s always a busy spot. The food was delicious, with a large variety of dishes to choose from. Great for celebratory meals or dates, and they certainly have something for everyone. Prices are very high, which is typical of these kinds of high end hotel restaurants, but the food lives up to expectations from something of this variety. There are dishes at semi-reasonable prices for the quality of food, and then you have your really expensive dishes, most notably the fresh seafood. I would definitely go back, preferably with a big group to mark an occasion, as it s a restaurant well suited to those types of meals. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, and the waiters/waitresses can help you identify suitable dishes. Dietary restrictions: The staff can absolutely accommodate dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: Wouldn t be my first choice for young kids, but I would take older kids who can sit still for the length of a meal. It s a high end restaurant, so you can guess what it would be liked. Wheelchair accessibility: Parts of the restaurant with seating are wheelchair accessible, but there is an upper level up half a flight of stairs that isn t. The hotel entrance to get to the restaurant is very accessible.

I would ve given this 5 stars but the service was what left a bad taste in my mouth. We came to celebrate a birthday and arrived before happy hour ended. We got our orders in and asked our server if he can help take a photo for us. He replied he was busy and give him few minutes. We didn t want to bother him again for it but all through the night he didn t make us feel comfortable, not one smile or friendly gesture or suggestion. We were never rude to him, we smiled and thanked him everytime he came over. We would ve liked to ordered more food had the experience been more pleasant but my friends wanted to leave and go elsewhere. We did order the small plate of desserts to share and was blown away with the creative way it was displayed and tasted. The food here was outstanding. The oysters at happy hour made up for the unfriendliness. Even when we got our bills, he made a mistake on them and we didn t make a fuss but paid it anyways. When I got up to leave I passed the server and smiled out of politeness but he just had a sour face and turned away. Perhaps he s having a bad day but honestly it made us feel like he was doing us a favour. All the other servers and managers that did come by our table was super friendly.

Thank you to the entire team who flawlessly served us from the moment we walked in to the payment of the bill. We loved every detail of the food presentation and enjoyed every bite! The seafood platter for two is an excellent choice for first-timers. The seafood linguine had the right amount of pasta after the seafood platter and corn bread. Also, the corn bread is a must! When we declined dessert, the waiter wouldnt let us leave without something sweet. He remembered it was a special occasion for us, so he brought over a tray of various sweets to try. This exceeded our expectations for the night, so thank you so much!

Went to Boulevard for happy hour and had mixed, but mostly positive feelings. If the food wasn t that good, my rating would be lower, but more on that later. We chose to sit inside for happy hour and were the only table in the vicinity when we sat down. I think they were in the middle of a shift change or something as it took 10 mins before someone came back to check on us. Never once were we asked how the food was, if we wanted another drink, or a refill of water. By the end of the experience, we had a different server who gave us the bill versus the person who took our order (hence the shift change comment). Outside of the slow start, the food at Boulevard does not disappoint so they very much deserve the stars for the food. The portions for happy hour are very generous. The food tastes fresh, and not overpowering with salt or spice. The flavours were light, very refreshing, and well made. I will definitely give them another try in the future, as I probably caught them at a bad time. For now, I ll stick with my go to places before heading back.

Seriously disappointed. I m shocked this has a Michelin mention. The decor is old-school, tired and stuffy. The service was terrible - lacklustre and painfully slow. We spent over $700 at this restaurant and it took 30 minutes of us sitting with empty drinks and plates for the server to drop off a dessert menu. Didn t explain the desserts, didn t come back for over 20 more minutes. We ended up giving up on dessert and putting our coats on. He saw us with our coats on waiting at the table and finally brought our bill. Bothers me how big of a tip this server made, for doing the absolute bare minimum. Food was average. Not blown away at all. I ve had better steak dinners at the Keg.

Had a very solid if uninspired meal at Boulevard Kitchen. All elements were well executed but nothing was particularly innovative nor memorable. Small annoyances: I asked for a filthy dirty martini and was served a crystal clear vodka drink with a barely perceptible brine taste. More off-putting was the fact that one of the staff had such strong body odour that I had to blow my nose any time he came by our table. Overall, I understand their Michelin star ranking relative to the Vancouver restaurant scene, but it is not the standard of Michelin star restaurants that I ve eaten at in other cities (NY, London, LV, SF, Lisbon etc)

**EDITED** Replaced Afshin with Farzin. On December 22, 2023, I decided to have a drink at the bar and Im glad that I did. It was my first visit to Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar and thanks to Farzin (Mixologist, Bartender and All-Around-Great-Guy) and Frank ( !), I will be back for sure. Kudos to Farzin for making me such a unique cocktail (Key ingredients included: sherry, egg white and rum). When I asked him if he could make me something from his personal recipe book, he did not disappoint. This is one of the reasons why I love frequenting bars of this calibre. In addition to the quality of the service and competency of the staff, I also look for evidence of a positive work culture when deciding where to spend my hard earned money. While I sat at the bar enjoying my drinks, I noticed the interactions between the bar staff and I could tell that it was driven by genuine camaraderie and respect. I shared my experience with Jorge Carrillo, Restaurant Manager, in the hopes that his team can receive the recognition that they deserve during their next team meeting. Having experienced the opposite in so many restaurants and bars in the city, it was a real treat to be able to share this wonderful experience online and in-person. To Farzin and Frank: Thank you for your fantastic service! Keep up the great work!

@JORGE : Thank you for your warm greeting during my visit on February 17th. I was surprised and genuinely moved that you remembered me from my previous visit. Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar got it RIGHT when they identified you as top talent for their management team all those years ago. Congrats on your achievements and I look forward to one day experiencing AUTHENTIC Mexican culture in Mexico City-Me alegraste el día! -- @FARZIN : Thanks to Frank, I got your name right this time! Your ability to create cocktails that are a symphony for the senses never ceases to amaze me. Please dont forget to have management sample your egg white and apricot creation. I cant wait to see it become a permanent fixture on the cocktail menu. Thank you so much for your generosity during my visit. The Riesling paired perfectly with the foie gras and I left learning something new about how Donnafugata Ben Ryé (2020) Passito di Pantelleria achieved its balance of sweetness and aromas. -- @YUKI : Thank you for your wonderful service. It was great chatting with you, especially on the topic of East Asian identity. If you end-up visiting Toronto, have fun and be safe. I wish you well during your next adventure! -- @FRANK : My Korean-Canadian brother! Thank you for your attentive service and wonderful conversation. It was great to see your smiling face again and congrats on surviving Hell Joseon during that time you were abroad. If I ever summon the courage to get inked, I wont hesitate to call your wife. ! -- @LAURA : I can only imagine the adversity you faced during your journey from Brazil to Canada. Im very proud of you for overcoming those numerous challenges (especially in Spain) and for earning your current level of proficiency in the English language. Thanks for squeezing me in on such short notice and during such a busy evening-¡Muchas gracias! -- @VICTORIA : Jorge and I are in agreement that you and your fellow teammates at the front of the house have perhaps the hardest job: Being the FIRST point-of-contact for those special people that dont seem to understand the words, We are full.. As I said to you earlier, the ability to remained composed and professional during the most challenging situations is a SKILL that deserves WAY MORE recognition and respect than it currently receives. For a restaurant included in the Michelin Guide and at this price point, I was underwhelmed. The food was perfectly adequate but nothing left a lasting impression or blew me or my companions away. The service was a bit mixed. Our waiter was lovely and made great conversation, but the pacing wasn t on point. There were no real check ins between courses. We had to flag the waiter down to order wine to accompany our mains. It wasn t served until we were well into our main course, which itself got delivered when one of our party was briefly away from the table, both big faux pas in my book if you re branding yourself as sophisticated fine dining. I wouldn t decline if someone offered to treat me to dinner here, but wouldn t go out of my way to come back. A very nice hotel restaurant charging high end prices.

It did not reflect that fact, our server had attitude, poor interaction with us, not attentive . making us feel like second-class guess, We had to ask another sever(who was really nice,) to help as we did wait quite a while to be serve. I was expecting a better experience the people that were with us eating at Boulevard for the first time, weve been eating there before and had a better experience. This time was very disappointing.

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. The chilled seafood tower was fresh and consisted of carefully curated sauces that went wonderfully with the seafood. The steak was cooked perfectly, and I would highly recommend to pair it with their foie gras, which is seared well and melts in your mouth like butter. Not to mention the desserts were all delightful, and even though we were quite full at the end, we still manage to finish them all. The desserts were just right in sweetness and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and look after the tables well. We were never short on water or napkins, and they were prompt on requests. We enjoy coming back here time and time again.

Wow... brunch was amazing at Boulevard. Highly recommend this restaurant for brunch but I recommend making a reservation. The appetizers is the seafood tower for two. The best part of the tower is the albacore tuna tataki. Tataki is tender that it melts in your mouth and perfectly seasoned. Steelhead fish was delicious it was tender. Mussels, shrimp and oyster is good. Eggs benedict was good. The eggs cooked to perfection. Creamy hollandaise sauce that is seasoned perfectly. The summer vegetable shakshuka is good with the chickpeas. There are hints of spiciness with the chickpeas but it does not overpower the dish. Sourdough bread were toasted to perfection. The sides dishes consisting of crispy roasted potatoes and thick cut bacon. Both side dishes was delicious as potatoes is baked perfectly as there is crispy texture. Bacon is good nice amount of fat and crispy. Potatoes is highly addictive that I want to order another one. I ordered steak (prime striploin) and eggs. Oh wow the steak was cooked perfectly and tender that it melts in my mouth. Even the red wine jus enhance the dish even further. For dessert.... wow it was highlight. The salted sesame praline bar and blueberry elderflower cake was absolutely delicious. Wow.... I thought the praline bar would be overly sweet but no perfect balance of sweetness. And the elderflower cake was excellent as berries was fresh and juicy. Lemon ice cream was good as it was refreshing. Again this cake is not overly sweet but perfect balance of sweetness. Compliments to the chefs Alex Chen, Roger Ma and Kenta Takahashi even their brigade. Even the service was excellent as our server was patient and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant for brunch. One day I would like to try their dinner service. -------------- December 28, 2023 The food is still good. Service is fantastic. Octopus appetizer is good with nice char and some sourness from tomatoes sauce. Also octupus is cooked perfectly not chewy easy to cut with knife. Lobster bisque is creamy, rich and hearty. Striploin is good. Cooked perfectly that it is tender. When you dip the striploin in red wine au jus, it melds perfectly. Oh congratulations in getting a Michelin star.

Im not sure how accurate my review will be, as we were honestly just out on the search for oysters and Boulevard Kitchen was the closest place we could find that was still open so we went. As far as fine dining, service and atmosphere go, Boulevard Kitchen had it all. While we didnt order much, just the Lobster Bisque and oysters, we still had great service and had a lovely experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious and prompt. The atmosphere was intimate. I had no complaints except that I wish I was hungrier and we had more time so I could have tried more things on the menu. The taste of the food was perfect, but the service was rather mediocre. For the starter, the spinach was forgotten with the salmon (when asked, it was only added to the salmon after it had been eaten). The full-bodied vegetable selection was in a homeopathic dose. My Passionfruit Mocktail was sharp and sweet, the seasonal Okenagen peach salad was lushly green with leaves, topped with assorted radish, carrot, crisped grains and thin sliced peach. Subtle dressing let the salad star, and it was perfect. The Lamb Shoulder melted in my mouth and was appropriately gamey, the accompanying caponata with pine nuts was a true argrodolce work of art. The seafood is delicious! We share a seafood tower, and each had a few other dishes (lobster bisque, lamb, seafood linguine). Love the different ways of preparing seafood, including pickled muscles! The Alaskan crab and salmon both just melt in the mouth. Our server, Tim, kept us entertained and informed. When we wanted a specific type of wine, he even went to check with sommelier.

For a michelin star restaurant I was disappointed with the experience and the food. The food was beautiful but flavour was lacking. Hollandaise sauce was light and fluffy but flavour was also lacking. A couple of us order hangar steak and eggs. We requested steak to be medium rare and steak was chewy. Server was quick and provided good service but was also very dry and monotonous. The brunch and our bill was not cheap so expected much more for what we paid.

A Culinary Journey at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar Celebrating a friend s birthday at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar was an extraordinary culinary journey. The restaurant s cozy ambiance created the perfect backdrop for our fine dining experience. For starters, I indulged in the lobster bisque, a creamy delight accentuated with prawn toast, sesame, and tarragon. This dish set a high standard for the evening, with its rich flavor and elegant presentation. My main course, the roasted ling cod, was a symphony of tastes. The dish was beautifully balanced, featuring chorizo stuffed peppers, toasted couscous, charred leeks, and perelló gordal olives, all united by a delightful sauce basquaise. Each element was cooked to perfection, creating a memorable dish. The men in our group opted for the prime striploin, an exceptional choice. They even added foie gras, elevating the dish to new heights. Accompanied by celery root fondant, beef ragu fleischinacka , and a rich red wine jus, the striploin was a testament to the chef s mastery in meat preparation. The highlight of the evening was the shared clay baked salmon, chosen by the birthday girl and my close friend. This exquisite dish, with fig leaf wrapped salmon spiced with sumac, fennel pollen, and espelette, was not just a feast for the palate but also a visual spectacle. Served with roasted fennel and sauce beurre rouge, it was a standout dish that encapsulated the essence of the restaurant s culinary prowess. The combination of attentive service, exceptional cuisine, and a warm atmosphere made our visit to Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar a truly memorable experience. This restaurant is a culinary jewel for those who appreciate fine food in an elegant setting. We left with plans to return, eager to explore more of what this outstanding restaurant has to offer.

I was here for a set menu at $150 pp plus gratuity for 3 courses and a seafood tower. The seafood tower was exceptional. Beet salad to start was mediocre (on sour cabbage which really killed the flavor). Unfortunately I was not asked how I wanted my steak cooked, and it came medium. I prefer medium -rare, more on the rare side. They asked if I would like it redone which I said yes to. It took over 30 minutes, at which point all of my friends had finished eating, so I had it packed up. A rare steak should take 6-10 mins at most. Very disappointed as this really affected my dining experience, which I feel should have been exceptional at a price tag of $180 including a drink/tax/gratuity. Not pleased!

Absolutely, if at all possible, resist the urge to raise your expectations to Boulevard s price point, for you will be sorely disappointed. As one of my fellow diners noted, the seafood tower is essentially an 80$ shrimp cocktail and crab leg platter. The ling cod was perfectly prepared, however it and the accoutrements fell flat on flavor. At 44$, it is fair to expect that you will receive either a large portion or a dish that is rich and/or layered with complexity. Neither was achieved here. By the way, the restaurant is connected to the La Grande Residence hotel. Do your own math for what that means regarding parking and how badly your are getting price gouged eating here. Did I mention the service? No, I did not. Take from that what you will.

This is the $24 farmhouse breakfast. Flavourless, unsalted bacon, unsalted boiled potatoes with an oily outside, a mushy tomato and a really gross wilted salad instead of toast. My husband got the wrong eggs benny sent up and the eggs tasted like vinegar.

We had a great experience for what you would consider a random night and the service and our server was great! We did a walk in (as no availability in opentable) and sat on the bar which we didnt mind, Im just glad they serve the food on the bar. Ive had few seafood tower (within restaurant in lower mainland) and this by far the best quality for the price!
