Last Friday evening our company hosted a Christmas Party at Coast. What a fantastic evening! The food, service and staff were incredible. Thank you Peter and Jesse. We could not have asked for more. They were completely on top of things. Parking: A small Impark lot just down from Coast in the alley behind, just off of Burrard. Very cheap!!!

Excellent service from Laura B. and friendly staff throughout the restaurant. Pepper guy perhaps could be more attentive as he didnt hear my wife and put too much pepper on her meal.

Great start to our night over for the game. Had wonderful service at the bar from Ryan, great cocktails, every dish we ordered was delicious and came out quite quickly. Would definitely come here again

dont really understand the hype happy hour oysters are pretty alright, for 1.5/ea the expectation is never very high and theyre delicate, well selected oysters that definitely exceed the price tag (even if a little small) mini lobster roll is just a lobster roll cut in half, its the portion size i expected but not the presentation (at least precut the bread so it doesnt look like half a roll, dont premake the roll and then cut it when i order), also there were about 2 tiny pieces of lobster, the rest is filled with grocery store freezer section penny sized boiled shrimp, and that was too expensive for them so half the roll is also filled with shredded lettuce the coleslaw literally tastes like a grocery store salad kit also there was a bone in my partners salmon oshi LMFAO service is standard, not good, not bad, atmosphere is like cactus or etc if the food at whitespot is a 0/5 and the food at cactus is a 2/5 this food is like a 2.3 or something

Great service with Ujjwol. Very attentive. We were a bit disappointed that at one point when Ujjwol was taking our order Mohit ( his manager) had to interrupt him and birrete him for something. That could have been done in the back and NOT infront of clients. Food

On December 15th, my family and I visited Coast Restaurant, a spot my husband and I visit every couple of weeks. Normally, we enjoy the ambiance and impeccable service, often sitting at the bar where everything flows smoothly. However, this visit was deeply disappointing. We made a reservation for five and were pleased to be seated at the specific table we requested. Unfortunately, it took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, and when our server finally arrived, she seemed scattered and disorganized. The first round of drinks went fine, but the experience quickly deteriorated. When ordering appetizers, two people in our party ordered oysters, and the server suggested they share the condiments something we ve never encountered before. It felt bizarre and unprofessional. The service continued to lack coordination, culminating in a delay with the payment process. The server brought the bill, but then there was a visible disagreement with the manager over why the payment machine hadn t been brought. Adding to the confusion, we were still waiting for the last order of oysters. The manager eventually removed them from the bill, but the overall experience left us unimpressed. Luckily, we were only there for appetizers, as we had plans to dine elsewhere. Still, this was by far the worst service I ve ever experienced at Coast. It was such a stark contrast to the polished, efficient service we ve enjoyed in the past when dining at the bar. I attempted to follow up with Stephanie, a manager, the next day to share my feedback. Despite leaving messages and calling multiple times, I was unable to get in touch with her, which only added to the frustration. Coast has always been a favorite of ours, but this visit was a significant letdown. I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for the restaurant to address these issues, as the level of service on this occasion did not align with the high standards we ve come to expect.

I came in for lunch with my friend and we were seated in their patio. They have heaters available so it felt nice and warm during the meal. We loved the featured halibut which our server suggested. The fish was cooked perfectly! Our server Ujjwol was so warm and welcoming. He gave great suggestions for the cocktails and food and we loved everything! The Alberni Crush was fantastic!

Recently hosted our company holiday dinner party at Coast! We booked the O Lounge for our party of 50 and everyone was thrilled with the holiday decor, service and food! I had late lunch here today and had an amazing food and service by my server, BenW! I had their happy hour menu and I loved it! Had the 1.50 a shuck oysters and also the mussel and truffle fries and they were all very yummy! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Caution needs to used, oyster caused a few of our party members to get sick. We experienced this a couple weekends ago when we attended there happy hour. The hostess was unpleasant to deal which was the first indicator of how our visit would go. As our party arrived, staff informed each of us different times allowed to be at the restaurant. Servers were also difficult and disconnected making the whole visit a main discussion versus enjoying our family member birthday. Each attending server seemed to be flustered by the additions of our family arriving and caused significant orders to take several minutes and delays. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and would likely not come back due to the lack of service after reporting the food poison incident and our overall staff experience to the General Manager of Coast (Alberni location).

Wagyu appetizer is really good.

Came in and got the three coarse dinner with friends, it was okay. Weird that they dont have a carafe of water they can leave at your table.

Took my client for a Christmas dinner treat and Coast could not have been a more perfect place to make my client feel special! All the pretty trees out front and festive feel inside! The food was phenomenal. I started with the beet salad, delicious! And ended with the Sable fish. No one in this city does a better sablefish than Coast! My husband and I went for the $95 per person seafood buffet at the Coast Restaurant. At the time of the reservation, the restaurant required us to pay for the full $190 plus 20% gratuity plus GST which we did. The restaurant atmosphere was good. However, the food choices in the buffet was limited. The raw oysters were small and paper thin, almost see through thin. There was snow crab and shrimp but they tasted frozen with no freshness. No extra napkins or utensils to eat them. There was lobster/prawn sushi but again all we tasted was the rice roll the lobster/shrimp was tasteless. There was no hot soup. There was also no coffee/tea/juice included in the $95 buffet lunch. My husband ordered a coffee and we paid extra for it. I had never been to a buffet that I did not try the dessert/fruit table and Coast was the first time. The dessert table was small with six or seven unappealing choices, e.g. mini muffin. When we were ready to pay for the coffee at the end, we waited for 5 minutes for the waiter as he was busy talking with the table behind us. We were also surprised to see that the waiter tagged on 20% gratuity on the $5 coffee when he presented the bill to us. I know 20% on $5 is not much money but we were not particularly impressed that the waiter determined for us the amount of tips for his service. We were very disappointed with the experience.

Caili what s the best way to us? We had a lovely time and she gave us the best options for the menu. We ve been coming here for nine years every year for Christmas and she was the best thing that ever happened to us with her red bow!

My family and I were at the Holiday Brunch buffet and none of us was impressed by their service and food quality. Upon arrival, we weren t greeted with a simple Good Morning but a robotic voice You have reservation? while the whole time the hostess stared at the computer. Then she further instructed us with a commanding voice that we must leave by noon. A waiter brought us to our table which was wobbly. It took us over 10 minutes to flag down a waiter to have it fixed. In addition, we weren t greeted by any waiters and we had to flag down a number of people in order to order our morning tea/coffee. Every server responded that they would get us our server who never came. Until the 3rd person and he finally took our drink order reluctantly. Food was underwhelming for $100 per person. Hot food items were cold and what appalled us was they served undercooked turkey and insisted that it was perfectly cooked. This is definitely a food safety issue; of course we left it untouched. Such a disappointing experience and perhaps yet another money grabbing event during the holidays or swifties weekend. If you are reading this and considering this restaurant, you are definitely better off heading to Earls or Cactus Club. At least you would get some decent food and service and half the price!

The staff was incredibly kind and the food was delicious! We sat on the patio which was a genius set up but executed a little poorly- the floor was tilted which made me a little nauseous/the heaters were very hot. Honestly it doesn t sound great but the rest was so good that it definitely made up for it and we had a great experience overall!

What in the world was that holiday buffet? I was highly disappointed with the food provided at a $100+ price point. I usually come to COAST for their regular dining experience and have always vouched for it to have the best seafood, but when I went in today it was way below my expectations. The food felt as though it was just all leftover food that needed to be eaten before they expired: the oysters smelled funky and tasted extremely salty, the fruit salad was extremely hot and bruised, the poached egg Benedict was fully cooked, and more! It wasn t just the food either, I felt sorry for the staff not having enough room to walk around due to the placement of the food and folks walking around, and some diners had to climb up and down the stairs back and forth for the main dishes.. at least we got a work out in with our fancy shoes on. I d normally give COAST 5 stars, but this event really made me rethink it as a go-to dining experience.

I ve always loved coming to Coast the food quality and service are consistently amazing! That s why I was excited to try their holiday buffet, expecting the same exceptional experience. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. For the $100 price point, the food quality fell far below the standard I ve come to expect from this restaurant. It felt like a huge letdown compared to their usual offerings. Please reconsider hosting buffets like this, as it risks tarnishing the restaurant s well-earned reputation. I ve given a low rating on this review to ensure the restaurant sees my feedback. Additionally the seating was cramped and it was difficult to move. My partner had food spilled on his back! Completely unacceptable. I love Coast for its regular dining experience, but this buffet has made me hesitant to trust the quality of any special events in the future.

I ve always loved visiting the Coast with my friends because of its outstanding food quality. So when they released their Lobster & Seafood Christmas Brunch Buffet, we were thrilled to try it out. At $120 per person (after tax and service fees), it was definitely on the pricier side, but we trusted Coast s reputation for exceptional quality. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced this time. What lobster? The lobster & shrimp sushi roll or the dry lobster pasta? Neither lived up to the hype. The oysters in the seafood section were low quality, far worse than what s offered during their regular dine-in service. Half the seafood options were just sushi rolls, leaving the big prawns as the only highlight. For an event labeled Lobster & Seafood, this buffet was a massive letdown. Coast, you re better than this.

We held my fathers retirement dinner in the port room and everything was incredible. The food was outstanding, Khalil did an amazing job with the service, and everything went smoothly and as planned. Also a big thank you to Emma at events for making this happen so short notice!

She s organized, calm, and incredibly personable, and always responded to emails and questions promptly. The service on the day of the event was also great. We had dinner at Coast November 23. Food was fantastic. Flavourful, nicely presented, and well priced. We had truffle and mushroom flatbread and crab cakes to start. Dinner was halibut and chips, salmon, and desserts were the Banana and Coconut cake, and the Layered Chocolate Mint cake. Everything was delicious. We could not find fault with any of the dishes. Wine list is extensive with something for everyone. The service was excellent. Ben W our waiter, and Murat the GM, were extremely friendly , attentive and helpful in recommending dishes. Service was efficient and seamless . I noticed that Murat the GM made a point to check in on every table , ensuring that everyone was well taken care of. Ben, our waiter, was very helpful in ensuring that our food came out a bit fast as we needed to be somewhere else after dinner. Atmosphere was lively and fun. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. All in all , a fantastic dining experience all around. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone.

Omg one of the best dining experiences I had so far, I would say the service and the servers were much better than the food because we had a way interaction, especially with Isabel and Ben and the manager Lindsay, she was so much fun! Loved every interaction with her she definitely knows what she s doing it! Loved the experience and loved every interaction, kudos to Ben and Isabel for their wonderful service and warm.

Came for buck-a-shuck oysters during their promotion. Fantastic food, atmosphere, and our server, Stephen, was friendly and helpful. Kids loved their pasta, and were kept busy with some provided paper and crayons. Could not ask for more.

The wait staff in our section were helpful and attentive, however the blonde host was very rude and set the evening off with a bad taste in our mouths. It felt like we were a burden just for being there. Ive had better hospitality experiences at mom and pop places than a restaurant like this which has a reputation for being an institution in the area. The food was great, and the happy hour is also a great deal, however I most likely wont be returning.

I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. Unfortunately, our hostess was quite rude and unwelcoming, which set a negative tone for our visit. However, our waiters, Ben and Michael, were absolutely fantastic! They were extremely accommodating, attentive, and friendly. They completely turned our experience around and made our dining atmosphere enjoyable.

We went to Coast for happy hour before a concert last Friday. We had a great time and were well taken care of by Vinny, our able server. The food was wonderful and the happy hour drinks a real bargain. Our group highly recommends Coast. We will definitely go back there next time we are in Vancouver.

When to Coast for a family brunch. Stephen was very friendly and attentive to our table. He made us feel like home. The food was great and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Highly recommend.

Our server Gloria was glorious! We went in for happy hour and the 1.50 oysters - all the food was awesome , especially the lobster and shrimp roll! Looking forward to dining in again! Second review! Our server was Stephan this time and he was also awesome!! I went with my fiance and my friend and I went for the eggs Bennys this time and 1.50 oysters again! :D Stephan was super friendly and on top of keeping our drinks full and checking in on us - he even treated us to some carrot cake and tiny smoothies on the house - both were super tasty! One of the other servers that helped bring in the smoothie noticed it had spilled a bit so brought out a fresh one which was very perceptive of him the staff here are all so stellar and attentive - maybe the first day I came in they were more busy than usual - the second time seemed slightly better since they really went the extra mile from the start ie, asking to check in oir coats, grabbing little stools to put our bags on at the table , the carrot cake and near the end of the meal Stephan made sure to ask if we wanted any coffee or tea :D Coast such a great restaurant to visit they know how to make every visit a great one!

We dined at Coast for their lobster night to celebrate an anniversary dinner. The food was excellent quality and well prepared. Our server, Peter, was an absolute delight. He was able to explain the menu to us and offered great wine suggestions! Everyone in the restaurant was incredibly attentive and friendly despite it being a full house.
