Great clam chowder. Good starter. Full of flavor. Had the ribs and chicken as a main. This is my go to at Earls and like to swap out the potato salad for mushrooms to keep it low carb works a treat. Nice extra dirty and extra spicy Caesar. Have had more original ‘ trimmings ‘ in my Caesar elsewhere. Especially the Keg! Open up til 11m, which is good for Vancouver where everything seems to finish by 9:30 pm (!)
I visited this place for lunch and had a wonderful experience thanks to the waitress, Valentyna. She was professional, attentive, and made sure to check in on my experience throughout the meal. Afterward, she recommended one of her favorite desserts, the banana cream pie. Although I was feeling full and not really in the mood for dessert, Valentyna went above and beyond by offering a small complimentary treat (pictured). It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly made my day. Valentyna’s exceptional service really stood out, and she definitely deserves to be recognized for her kindness and attention to detail.
As an Asian, I have had so many Asian foods so far. I am so impressed to enjoy such an authentic Korean Bibimbap, including Kimuch and Korean BBQ even in the center of Vancouver. Lots of vegetables will make you healthier for sure! Besides, the bowl made of stone keeps the food warm for a while. I strongly recommend this bibimbap in Earls!
Earls Test Kitchen on Hornby Street in Vancouver is known for its vibrant and innovative dining experience. The restaurant features a fresh and inviting atmosphere with lush greenery, creating a serene ambiance. The menu is diverse, offering a variety of options including vegetarian dishes, steaks, and unique daily features. Service is generally praised for being pleasant and professional, though some diners have experienced slower service during busy times. The food is well-received, with many guests enjoying the creative and delicious offerings, although a few have found it to be overpriced. A highlight is their half-price wine on Wednesdays, making it a perfect mid-week treat. They also offer multiple Happy Hour options, including late-night and weekend brunch Happy Hours. Overall, Earls Test Kitchen is a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family, especially if you’re looking to try something new and exciting in downtown Vancouver.
This was my second visit to the Earls on Hornby, and once again, the service was outstanding. The host was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of during my friend’s farewell gathering. We enjoyed the steak frites, poke bowl, and truffle fries—all of which were delicious! The poke bowl, which I believe is exclusive to this location, was my personal favorite. The drinks were also fantastic, adding to the overall experience. All in all, it was a wonderful evening, and I’ll definitely be
What a pleasant surprise! Great food, excellent service. Love the sliders, yam fries, the grilled chicken on the fettuccine and cold noodles were delicious.
Good happy hour menu! Tried seafood platter and salmon sushi and they were both good. Also liked tortellini pasta and clam chowder. Open till 11 pm so good for late night eat.
Loved that this location has a test kitchen, so you get to try new dishes! The vibe was great and my only complaint was that the game was on and it was a bit too loud especially during ad breaks. If you plan on eating there consider what games are on and the noise level.
Great food and service!
We went to Earls Hornby St, Vancouver, for my birthday on December 20th. I go to Earls frequently, and love many of their classic, long standing main courses, of which our party ordered some of. Upon seating us, we were told by the hostess that we had to be cleared out within 2- hours, as there was a reservation right behind us (this part wasnt a huge deal). The service /server we had was outstanding, friendly and timely, however, there were five people in our party and all the main dishes came out cold (oddly, the flavor profiles were great, but not so much with cold food) . The manager came quickly upon being advised of this, and offered to replace all the meals, but we had reservations somewhere else afterwards, and we were hungry, so we ate at least part of what was on our plates. He did take four of the five meals off our bill. This was a shame, because our server was excellent and the atmosphere is fine (although I do think over the past few years they seem to pack people in there like sardines, as the booth we were in was designed to comfortably fit three regular size adults, but there were five of us in the same booth that everyone else seemed to have three). Ill still stick with Earls overall, as this is the first disappointing food experience Ive had with any Earls in the approximately 30-years I started going to them (Earls Tin Palace, Edmonton, Alberta, was iconic from my late teens to mid adulthood). I have been to this location many times, but not since COVID, so we shall see what happens next time.
Great place to sit at the bar and watch sports. Great cocktails. Food is also good.
I had the pleasure of dining at Earls today. I never write reviews but I was impressed by the service Cass and James provided. From start to finish, their service was nothing short of exceptional. Both were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to every detail, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly and efficiently. Cass was great at providing clear, thorough communication and always went the extra mile. James, on the other hand, brought a level of expertise and problem-solving skills that truly impressed me. Their commitment to delivering top-notch service really stood out. Can t Forget Ireland at the front door! She was exceptional and instantly made me feel comfortable. A true gem! Thanks Cass, Ireland, and James!
We really enjoyed the friendly, quick service. Our uber got lost and they still honored our reservation on a busy Sat night. Food was pretty good; atmosphere and service was great.
Earls is a family staple for us and tonight we had such a fun time- we went for happy hour as a family and had the most WONDERFUL service!!!! Our server Alex was amazing -she was so friendly and sweet to my mom and daughter and my husband and myself! Her personality added so much to our already great experience!!! Thank you!
Nice! Great foods! Food : 5/5
Went for my birthday, alone. lol. Let s just say it was the best birthday yet, everyone there literally made my whole night! And the food was great
I dined at earls test kitchen with my friend on Saturday night and we had the best time. The service was absolutely exceptional from our server Tom. He was so lovely and attentive. He definitely made the experience so much better. Will be coming back soon!
Beautiful location, environment, menu and people! Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. Food : 5/5 |
We just came out there without eating any food. Worse food I ever had.... Espresso matini came out room temperature, but still hoping food will be good. We ordered chicken Alfredo pasta and chicken wing salt &pepper. Wings was complete burn, by just looking at it, it wasnt eatable. I wonder chef and server dont even realize the food is burn? It was burn. I had a bite ashes was visible.... I was so amaze. Pasta was cold and dry. I felt like old sitting pasta serve to us. I ask server wings is not eatable, and pasta was old. We didnt touch the food ask for the bill. She seem want us to get out, to take another waiting guest. We got out pay for pasta and drink, and cancel the wings. I hope restaurant happy to get paid within 20min, and take new customer.
I was annoyed by the rudeness of the waitress. We had a large table on Saturday night and she was waiting for each person to pay their dinner bill. I had already paid mine and was texting on my phone while she stood beside me and waited for my friend beside me to finish paying. She read the text message I was sending over my shoulder and then made a loud comment about it to me and the whole table. This was totally against my privacy and I was embarrassed by what she said.
This is the best restaurant to go to with non-plant based people it has plenty of choices for everyone. A great location for business meetings. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Great vegan options, a complete separate menu.
This was an amazing experience, we came here for a nice dinner and immediately thought this was going to be great. For our appetizer we got the fries. Those are the best fries EVER!!!!!! They also have a small test kitchen menu where you are one of the first to try new dishes. Cant recommend this place enough!
I made a reservation and went, and they were very friendly and nice. He even gave me a birthday card! Recommended menu: Soup
Came in with my mom for her birthday and had a great time. The whole staff was really nice and our server Lorena was amazing and so kind. She got us a free dessert and sang happy birthday. Well definitely be back!
Tom was amazing! He treated me like a princess
Tom from Durham was amazing ! He went over and above for my friends birthday he added a balloon and dessert for her! He was an absolute legend and so funny
came in for din Tuesday night w/ my partner and had a great night. Lorena our server was phenomenal! She recommended basically all the drinks and food we ordered and loved all of it...steak wagyu press was unreal 100% recommend.
This is my go to casual restaurant. Consistent with good food & service! Hannah was great!
I quite like the chain. Brought a group of friends here for happy hour, not disappointed!
Had a great lunch on Friday after Black Friday shopping. Our server Lorena was so nice and made us feel special. We ll definitely be coming back!
Yesterday we were there for lunch, and even though we had a reservation, they didn t set a table for us. After directing us to a booth that was not big enough for five people, they moved us to another table that again was not meant to be for five. What I saw before was usually for five people placing guests at a table for six and leaving one seat empty, not adding a chair to a table for four! Any way you can see the poor management? There are good and unique foods and drinks on their menu; however, I believe there should be a certain standard to be followed. As an example of a creative drink, you can make any martini with any taste and any odd name, but martini is a defined word. You cannot make a four-ounce drink with one and a half shots of vodka in it and call it a martini! What you made is diluted, testy vodka. As typical glass for martini is around 6 to 10 ounces!
Fantastic happy hour, great staff, and awesome vibes. #ContestEntry
Wonderful service, modern comfortable environment, not too loud of ambiance which was appreciated. Good menu options, and its nice to try something new they are trying out for regular menu launch. Provided feedback as though the food was good, and presentation was visually appealing, it honestly lacked real palatable taste until over halfway through the meal. I did mention it to the server, and she corrected it without hesitation, and I was not actually complaining, rather providing feedback. Otherwise, I will definitely be back and have already recommended
I came here the other night to have a celebratory dinner with a friend and we had such a special time. The food was amazing and our server Alex was super friendly & kind and made the experience a lot of fun for us.
I am an Earls girl through & through. The test kitchen location is amongst my favourites. Food and drinks were delicious and our server Abby was lovely. She helped me make my boyfriend s birthday celebration extra special! Will be back again!
What you expext from a chain. Better atmosphere and service than food quality. The steak was particularly tough and not very tasty.
The food and drinks were amazing! Loved all the different flavours coming to together. My server Zaynah was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place for everyone!
This is a regular place i dine at and thats because its always a great experience. The whole staff that works there are always so pleasant and professional. The dishes are ALWAYS so delicious and the presentation is exquisite. I highly recommend dining here for a taste of one of Vancouvers best . Vegetarian options: Lotd of plant based selections
Great food and always great service
Another positive Earls meal. We loved our Cajun Chicken and Surf & Turf, and everyone who worked at Earls was friendly and lovely. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Always an interesting test menu. The chocolate banana cream pie was my favorite!
Vegetarian options: Plant based menu with 6 dishes. Food
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Our server Lorena was amazing and very kind. Will definitely be coming back soon.
A great happy hour in a fun environment! #ContestEntry
Excellent service, great food and drinks. I d never been to this location before but I think it s my favourite one of all the Earls in Vancity so far.
The food at Earls was extremely disappointing. Every time I visit, I leave unsatisfied and tell myself I won t return this time was no exception. The fettuccine Alfredo was cold, and the sauce had separated and clumped, making it unappetizing. The calamari was rubbery, tough to chew, and completely bland. My partner ordered the beef sandwich, which was equally terrible; the bread was soaked in grease, making it unappealing. We were a party of six, and unfortunately, every one of us shared the same disappointment with our meals. Reminder to self: never again!
Sat at the bar and was served by Colton the bartender. Myself and my friends that I was with our all servers and managers at another restaurant so we really appreciate when we receive excellent service. Colton was great, very attentive, showed genuine warmth and care. Felt like we were in great company! Thanks for making our Sunday so special, Colton!
Awesome location with friendly staff and good food. Great vibes! #contestentry
Great food, good times, and great service. I live nearby and come often for the good deals at happy hour. Tom was kind, attentive, and its nice to be remembered!
Loved the roast beef sandwich and the chocolate brownie. Our server Hannah was wonderful. Happy hour is fantastic also.
Came in yesterday with my buddy for lunch and had a great time. The new bibimbap was delicious! Our server Lorena took excellent care of us and made great recommendations for us to try. Will definitely be back!
I had a 10/10 experience at Earls recently. Brax behind the bar provided excellent service and even gave us some great recommendations. The prosciutto pizza was great. Would come back just for Brax s service alone.
I wanted to go to happy hour tonight at earls but I was disappointed in the last visit. My friend and I went on November 16th Saturday around 9:00 pm. We were seated at a small table. Weve both ordered an ice tea each. We were offered water but thought we didnt need it cause the ice tea was refillable. Well we were disappointed. We got our food and still we were not offered a refill. Our waiter was not attentive. We ordered over $100 of food and our table doesnt fit what was coming out. Instead of moving to a larger table we tried to finish the food and make room for more dishes. There were two larger tables right next to us that were empty. But the server did not offer us to move to a larger table. Two young teenagers came in and were seated at that larger table. WTF they ordered one drink each and 2 tacos. Yet they have a seating for 4-5 people but only 2 of them. The food was delicious but we were thirsty. We were trying to find our waiter to get a refill. We paid $5 for a pop. They should automatically bring us another refill, like Joeys the restaurant. Anyhow we flagged the waiter down to order desserts. We asked for the refill then. Well our dessert came but no refills. After we finished our dessert we asked for the bill. We settled our bill and waited until our refill came. He did apologize. But its too late. We had a bad experience there.
I came with some friends from the island to have lunch at this location. Our host Rogina was super nice and friendly. She spilled some tea about the concert and let me tell you there were all true ahahaha. The food was amazing hardly suggest the wagyu beef oshi press. Definitely will come back
Caring staff
I came today with some of my friends and ordered 2 kale mush pizzas they were super tasty and i was lucky i got Asad to serve me he was to good in his job.
Excellent food and customer service too.
The food is so good i love the mushroom pizza the most
The food was decent but the service could be better. Part of my order was forgotten and the server was a bit rude.
Brought some colleagues for a lunch and our food was good but not as outstanding as I would have expected for the price. Service was also good and friendly but I did have to wait for my drink to be refilled. Never had a disappointing meal here, but Im yet to be blown away.
Had two fabulous meals at Earls Kitchen + Bar. The first was lunch where the food was extraordinary good and we were served by the lovely Ashley who was very friendly. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we booked dinner for the following evening and once again the food and cocktails were on point - absolutely delicious! For dinner we were served by Laura who was also great. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Vancouver.
Good atmosphere and very nice camera
Good great downtown foodery
Fun place to meet friends, have jovial conversations and enjoy great food!!
We were seated right away and Jessie were so nice and we had a nice chat. Sofiia, our server came and took our order quickly. On top of that Andi, the manager came and made sure we are taken care of.
Mani greeted us perfectly and we tried the wagyu oshi press that he suggested and it was perfect!
We were there for brunch. I ordered the crab cake bennys which were so good!!
i was dinning at earls on saturday night with a group of my friends. i had the lovliest host ever her name was Rohina. she took the time to talk to me and check on me cause i was having a bad day. She told me to try the strawberry creamy pie so i would feel better and it actually worked. the food was amazing and the night was unforgetable i think that night was the best experience i had at a restaurant. i woule definitely come back for the great people working there and the great food
Great place to chill after a game
Excellent food and service at dinner time. Also enjoyed the happy hour drinks and food before when we were downtown for concerts.
The food was delicious and the chefs were all well trained and I would like to say thanks to my buddy Sam for training them well. I would like to say thanks to Ireland, Savannah and Lorena for providing me excellent customer service they are super friendly and helpful.
My wife and I came in earlier today and we were very impressed with the entire experience. Our server Lorena was very kind, helpful and patient with us and even helped recommend what we should order, she seemed like she really cared about taking good care of us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and hope to come back again soon.
Their Pulled Chicken Clubhouse is fire!
We had Alex as our server and she was so goddamn good at her job! She was warm and welcoming and easily took care of all of our needs. **give this lady a RAISE** The food was DIVINE. Idk who they had on grill, but the steaks came out perfect and overall I had a lovely date night with my fiancé. Will happily be returning for that wagyu pressed sushi!
Was a bit disappointed in the oven baked salmon.. the salmon was dry and overcooked and the portion was very small.. I liked the poke bowl..
Great lunchtime experience! It was my birthday recently and the waitress not only comped a gorgeous dessert she surprised me with, but also a glass of Prosecco! The steak and sushi was also delicious :) Earl s test kitchen never disappoints.
It was decent. Steak was overcooked but they made it right.
I came in with my friends last night. The food was amazing and my server was super friendly too. I came during rush hour but my host was the kindest and most lovely, she was the funniest girl ever and made us laugh the whole time. She lost her voice but that didn t stop her from giving us great customer service. Girl if you re reading this hope your voice gets better soon
Amazing atmosphere but unfortunately my food came cold but still delicious. I had a lovely server. Also Regina made our night unforgettable. Definitely will come back again.
I came in this restaurant the other night it was absolutely phenomenal. The experience was 10 out of 10. The servers were just absolutely on top of it and we came in with a large group and they somehow took care of each and one of us individually, and I can t think of enough for a great time and a great Thanksgiving!:) shout out Morez & Sydney our bartender amazing hospitality:) thanks for a wonderful night:))))))
I had a great night at Earls Test Kitchen. Despite the busy atmosphere, my server, Lorena, was kind and patient, and she truly made our night. Our host, Sadaf, was very friendly and helpful, taking great care of us. I tried the margarita pizza, and it was amazing! I highly recommend this place to anyone!
Food
This place had the best dishes. Everyone was super friendly. The only downside was it took a long time for the food to come out but it was worth it
Everything just fits together here. Super friendly and attentive service, great food, plenty of drinks to choose from and also good value for money. Heart, what more do you want?
Terrible food, crispy tofu was soggy and flavourless, noodles and sauce were like reheated leftovers from the back of the fridge absolutely disappointing and gnarly. Asked server 3x for water, 3rd and final time she laughed, said oh ya I forgot and forgot again. I felt like we were being ignored, she returned to the table beside us many times with her rear end turned closely by me but never once asked if we needed anything. She never brought us our bill, we waited and then finally proceeded to walk to the hostess to pay at which time the hostess just said have a goodnight...i felt like walking out the door!!! Vegetarian options: Asked for vege options...but choices were limited
Happy hour is good. The fries are delicious.
10/10 as always, thanks Asad for an outstanding experience!
This is a great place with friends or alone!
The server Armaan was very helpful. When we asked about vegetarian options he gave us great suggestions that we would definitely get again. He came to our table frequently and brought us everything we needed quickly. We enjoyed talking to him and he made our experience very pleasant. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are very good
Service is horrible disrespectful and each stuff tells different things when we ask the same thing. I got a pick up not done in. When I arrived to the store they said it would take 8 more minutes I come back after 15 minutes later and another stuff told me it would take 7 more minutes again . You should organise better quality of service. Food is good but not service. I would give 1 star for service and 4 star for the food .
Fabulous hospitality, food and drinks great
It has a sports bar-like atmosphere. The staff are kind and the customer base is not bad, so you can go here with confidence.
Went here with a group of six with a baby and had a wonderful experience. I wish I could remember the waitress name, but she really went above and beyond. The food quality was also excellent.
Morez and the staff at this Earls location are at the top of their game. Service is second to none. Menu is impeccably crafted. Music divine. Atmosphere classy yet casual. The spacious layout offers privacy as well as the option to be social if you so desire. Everything you d want in a dining experience. Perfection!
Everything we had here was amazing. The Cesar salad, Margarita Pizza, truffle steak and fries and the best toffee pudding Ive ever had.
Came to the restaurant for dinner after walking with the kids DT. We were able to get a table relatively fast. After ordering food we waited over an hour for it to arrive, as you can imagine the kids got very impatient. Their excuse was the chicken was burnt so they had to re make it. When the food finally came it was very mediocre. Save yourself the hassle of going to this very unprofessional establishment, Joeys is very close, much better bet. Sept. 14
I have to say good food and a tasty Steak. Being so close to the movie theater is definitely a big plus. If I have to be honest though, what made the night special, was Valentyna. She made us feel special. Thank you again
Airy modern vibe with consistently good food and service. Great for a business lunch or after work happy hour. Recommend the ahi tuna poke bowl or cajun salmon.
I came at 10 pm July 6 with friends and i don t know his name but kind gentlemen in between 20-30 age range served us and was an amazing server. Made our evening relaxing. Got our drinks on perfect timing. Made an error with what we ordered but rectified the situation in a perfect way. Me and my buddy shared a dozen oysters, wagyu oshi and salmon oshi roll. My girlfriend had the spinach dip! It was amazing the food was absolutely delicious and the service was 5/5 so coming back and keep that wagyu on the menu, add some halibut and caviar !
Always good food here
Brax was amazing and such a vibe! best service ever give him a raise
Brax was awesome! Thanks Earls!
Me and my friends use to come to this location regularly but today s service was absolutely horrendous. We came in as a group of 10 at 10pm which I understand is a big party but they close at 12am. We wanted to grab a quick bite and go home. We had every intention to leave before their closing time. The guy at the front that checked us in had an attitude problem. They had tons of empty tables and they took 20 minutes to sit us. My friend was looking around at the tables and the front guy came up to him and said is there an issue with a fairly aggressive attitude. He was just looking around. The server that we had was really great. He didn t deserve any direction of anger that we had tonight. The food took over an hour to come. Our friends who were sat at a different table got their food first and FINISHED before we even got our food. The food also came out cold and the girl that helped our server drop the food off basically tossed the plates on our table and walked away. I ve never had an experience like this before tonight. It was absolutely insane. The manager came and helped us with our complaints but the experience was just terrible. I would never recommend this location to anyone.
Ordered the test kitchen flame torched salmon aburi roll. An interesting combination of mango, avocado, cucumber, crispy tempura, serrano pepper, with a soy glaze. It was really tasty! Try it, you wont regret it.
The food was incredible and the staff were lovely, although during eating our food we werent checked up on. Cocktails are a must, the coconut marguerita was delicious.
Marcos was an excellent server. The food was very delicious. It was advertised as a quiet intimate dining room. The music was a little too loud.
Had dinner the other night and the staff was amazing and the food was incredible! We are so glad we tried this location and cannot wait to go back!
We had brunch at the TK Aug 4 and the food was amazing and the service was also fantastic. We love coming here for drinks and food as always a pleasure to dine
Savannah was incredibly kind and fantastic at her job!
Very nice restaurant, plenty of options on the menu, foods and pretty good.
This is the spot to go to. I always look forward to coming here after my shift. Andy and Cas always look after me. They re super attentive and personable. Cas had really good recommendations and shook our Margs to perfection. Andy was always checking in on us, ensuring we were taken care of throughout the night. After a long shift, I felt like a VIP which is why I keep coming back to earls TK.
Great food and atmosphere
Amazing service, before your drink is empty there is a waitress asking if you need another. Great atmosphere.
Food was amazing and service was even better!
Great food, helpful and friendly staff, nice atmosphere, very convenient if you are staying at the Sheraton Food
We flew into Vancouver and arrived at 11 PM and were looking for a late night place to get a burger. The concierge at our hotel told us about Earls and that it s open until 1 AM. It was exactly what we were looking for. They had a great selection of beers and they even had a happy hour menu that goes from 10 PM to 1 AM. We got the roast beef sliders and an Asian noodle dish. The food was so delicious that we went back twice during the four days that we were on vacation. Good food, friendly service, and great atmosphere!
I came here twice within 3 days. The first time was to get drinks with husband. They took 25 to get a beer and a Prosecco and were 1/5 full. Figured they were short staffed and tried again. This time they were 1/3 full and they served everyone except us. It took over 1hour to get 2 salads and some fries for my kid! Other tables had their appetizers and meals while we waited. Atrocious. If they came by to say sorry, I would have forgiven them but not an iota of responsibility on their behalf. Do yourself a favor and go do somewhere else. I will never come here again.
I had the Caesar salad and it was excellent.
Good place that I recommend, simple but with a wide variety of choices and very good.
Busy and noisy with a nice selection of food and wine. They also have a test kitchen, so you can order menu.Items that they are considering for all of the restaurants
Really neat date night idea! Can try stuff of their tester menu that never disappoints! Highly recommend
3.8 stars on food because the dessert creme brulee was not prepared well - the custard was runny rather than creamy. Weve enjoyed creme brulee at other Earls locations and, in comparison, this one was not up to par. Our server was great; she did address the issue with the kitchen and confirmed the whole batch was the same. Kinda surprised considering this is a test kitchen and expect better quality control. (what would Gordon Ramsey say). Other than that, the steak frites and chicken lettuce wrap were delish. Parking: Downtown location so no free parking
A nice restaurant
Service is impeccable! From the moment I am seated through my entire time there, they are on top of it!! Food and atmosphere is amazing! This is my favourite place!!
Me,my mom and my brother went to the test kitchen. we would have NEVER thought that we would get this service and food at an earls. It was AMAZING. we got the sea food platter and then crystal marg along with some other items. all of them were all amazing. our server Abby and or host Chloe were amazing so kinda, fast, and well knowledged. Jillian (i think thats how u spell her name) was great with helping us with questions about the menu and checked in on us to see how everything was. we would definitely come back!!!!
I ordered a rare steak dinner through door dash and I got a medium well done steak it was the worse tasting steak I have ever had and ruined my dinner
I sat at the bar when I walked in. The bartender was attentive despite it being a weekend and somewhat busy, though not overwhelmingly so. The atmosphere was great, consistent with their other establishments. However, I am disappointed with the quality of the food. Having worked at Earls (2010, Yaletown), I had high expectations for the mushroom pizza, but I believe even Domino s offers better quality. Earls needs to rethink and refine their approach to pizza. The pizza was soggy and oily, with an excessive amount of mushrooms and poor-quality cheese.Crust was awful. I can make a better pizza at home. Perhaps Earls should consider collaborating with restaurants like Via Tevere Pizzeria to improve their process. This is my honest review of your pizza. You might be upset, but I won t change my review until you improve the quality.
PERFECT spot to park it after your cruise if you have some time to kill. Fancy vibes with a variety of food options, super clean restrooms and even an indoor water feature, piano, etc. We Sat with our bags and chilled with some snacks/coffees as we waited for our Airbnb check in time.
Great food - friendly staff and quick service.
Unfortunately the beautiful presentation, was dettered due to the heavy concentration of salt in the smashed potatoes....please reduce the sodium content.
Out of town foodies, here, stopped by this hopping venue at 6 pm on a Friday night and yet were able to make reservations for 7:30. Amazing. Shared an Angry Chicken Lettuce wraps and a test item, Hunan Chicken stir fry, both of which were excellent! We were going to skip dessert but the siren call of warm (testing) pecan pie with Chantilly cream was too much. It was an over-sized mini pie, enough for two, and it was DELISH! I cant say enough about the service and helpfulness of Chase with the menu and his knowledge of individual items on the menu. Didnt see a single wait person standing around, all were busy and hustled. All staff who came by also asked if there was anything to do or help with. As a Bakeshop owner myself I was a little concerned about servers with long hair running their hands through their hair, or to push it back, and not washing hands. One hostess was actually twirling her long hair and while she may not be serving food directly, it was a little off putting. It was busy and bustling with good energy, music a bit loud for us. Would definitely eat here many more times! Vegetarian options: Too many to mention.
Food & service was exceptional! The staff were amazing, especially our servers Andi & Kenzie who were so friendly and went above and beyond in making sure we had the best experience. Loved it so much, went back the next night!! Would definitely recommend!
5 of the 6 of us enjoyed their dinner. I ordered a burger medium. Our waitress said they only cook burgers medium to medium well and they wont change that for a customer. My burger couldnt have been more well done.
Amazing service from beginning to end. We had a party of 12 including 6 kids and it took just a few minutes to get everything set up. The food was great but the service even better. Thank you!
Great place
Great place to dine food very good service excellent music a little loud def recommend and in fact we went there on a recommendation from New Zealand ! Very very good
Had a great dinner there with my friend on our way to a concert. Had the steak frites and added a shrimp skewer and mushrooms. The portion was enormous and cocktails were delicious. The manager was very nice and kindly gave us a freebie for cheering her up. So glad we came here. Hope to come back.
We attended a welcome dinner for a family wedding and had a spot reserved for 35 people - our experience was perfect! Morez particularly made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to accommodate the bride and groom. Food was great and they were able to accommodate a range of dietary restrictions + really good drinks. Morez also asked what the bride and grooms favorite desserts were to surprise them with complimentary desserts. Such a wonderful experience - thank you Morez!
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty! Our hostess with the French-Canadian name was amazing! Thank you Earls! Gerry & Karen
We were there with a grandchild and experienced great service, great food and felt very welcome.
Went to this location for my Birthday on June 2nd.Thanks to all the staff who were so polite and professional. But specially I want to say thanks to Abby who was our server. We were 12 people and she managed our table in the best way. Also, huge thanks to Morez who was also very friendly and took care of us.
My boyfriend and I went out to dinner and were served by Marcos with assistance from the manager Morez. They were the sweetest people on the planet!! They were so kind and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Any question they answered and any request they made sure we were satisfied. I cant recommend this place enough!!
Zaynah was a top notch server!! She took time to share some things about Vancouver as it was our first time here! She was helpful and friendly and our Tortellini was awesome as well!
Went there on June 6th to especially celebrate my graduation with a bunch of friends. At first they lost my reservation and made us wait. Then they squeezed 5 of us into a small booth for four. Still, all of that was fine, up until they told us that they were out of Fettuccine Alfredo and it would take 2 hours for the sauce and the pasta to be ready. We have dined in with Earls before and it has been an amazing experience almost always, that is why I chose my special day to be celebrated there at their biggest location. I was really disappointed at the below par service and lack of availability.
Earls Kitchen + Bar offers a delightful dining experience that combines a modern, chic atmosphere with a diverse menu catering to various tastes. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Their menu is a fusion of global flavors, featuring everything from classic burgers and steaks to innovative vegetarian options. The Banh Mi Chicken Sandwich is a standout, offering a perfect balance of savory and spicy. Service is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of food and atmosphere make it worthwhile. A great spot for those looking to enjoy a cozy evening with good food and good company..
Earls Kitchen + Bar provides a delightful dining experience that caters to a wide range of tastes. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and casual, makingit suitable for both special occasions and casual outings. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, from innovative takes on classic comfort foods to healthier, globally-inspired options. Particularly noteworthy is their commitment to sustainability and sourcing local ingredients. Service at Earls is generally attentive and friendly, contributing to an overall pleasant atmosphere. While prices might be on the higher side, the quality of food and the overall experience often justify the cost. One potential downside is that the place can get quite noisy during peak hours, which might not appeal to those looking for a quiet dining experience.
This is by far the best Earls in whole BC! The food is so delicious and the costumer service is amazing, we had such a good time! Definitely will be back, specially during their amazing happy hour!
Best Earls in the city, as always. Lorena was a joy to have as a server. 10/10 would recommend.
This restaurant is a short walk from the Wall Centre. It was our second time here, and again both the food and service were great. I tried the Ahi Tuna bowl (new) and it was really tasty. Well be back!
Some restaurants are content to just remain stagnant in their menus. Dont fix it if it aint broke right? Thats why I love the Earls Test Kitchen. They come out with fresh, notable and new dishes quite often, constantly experimenting with new flavors. The restaurant itself is massive, and even more impressively, it is often full to capacity. A great place to catch up with friends, to celebrate birthdays, this place has you covered. My usual dish is the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, but on this occasion, I decided to try their Prime Rib. Im so glad I did because, seriously, that meat was glistening. And it was a huge slab of meat at that. Took me a while to cut it all up, but it was so tender, cooked to a juicy medium rare. Im sure its not mentioned a lot, but the gravy I ordered on the side for the mashed potatoes was really rich and flavorful. I passed the broccoli on to my girlfriend as I dont particularly like that vegetable. Otherwise, it was well worth the money. My girlfriend also decided to try something new this time and went with the Truffle Tortellini, adding steak to it. She was happy to see that they had actually given her quite a few pieces of both pasta and steak, as other restaurants seemed to think that 4 or 5 pieces was sufficient so long as they were big pieces. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the steak was delicious. Good drinks, fabulous food, reasonable prices. Earls is on my short list of restaurants that I keep going back to.
The place was hopping and the celebratory din made conversation challenging. With food like this, however, who has time to talk? The Cobb Salad was done well. My chicken clubhouse sandwich was delicious. The Queen Bee pizza is a star! The hot honey drizzle wakes up a ham and cheese pizza and turns it into something wonderful. Amid the noise and activity our waitress, Laura, was perfect. She was attentive without being intrusive. She was patient, encouraging and helped to provide a delightful dining experience.
Great atmosphere!
Amazing service and great food. Not expected from a place called earls. It s a chain, but that shouldn t deter you. Steak was spot on.
Thanks to Open Table we were able to get our seats quickly, even though we had to wait a minute for the rest of our party. There was an issue with our order, but the server was very helpful and they were apologetic, so all was forgiven. We had the seafood tower which was really good. All the items were fresh and very flavorful. The presentation was nice as well. It s crazy that no one in Canada seems to know what a Cosmopolitan is, but they had other options. Overall I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Good food, reasonable prices.
Food cold! Burger burned and dry bacon not crispy at all. Frozen Fries like the packet but you pay restaurant prices plus cold and no tasty at all. What else????They forced you to pay 20% tip for big tables!!!!! Even if the food they serve it s not up to the standard of great quality. It doesn t make sense. Bye forever
My wife and I dropped into Earls Kitchen + Bar at the Hornby Street location and had an absolutely lovely time. From the first greetings at the door by a kind gentleman, to the quick professional service from the bartender, to the caring, kind, and gracious customer service from Savannah, who checked in to see how we were doing. Such a great experience! Highly recommend the food, drinks, and atmosphere at this Earls location. Huge 4 Thumbs! (2 from each of us.)
Food was fine. Drinks were not well served
The food and service was great, however, the booth seating is set up in a manner thats very awkward, as you can hear EVERYTHING that is said in the booth next to you, just like your sitting in their booth. The folks sitting next to us were having a personal, sensitive discussion that made us feel very uncomfortable.
Crab cakes were awesome!
A very good restaurant in the center of Vancouver. The attention of the staff upon arrival is first class, as well as the food and drinks. Very good mixology and the restaurant decorated with good taste and sober. Very delicious food, made with top quality ingredients. The prices are very good for a city where prices are regularly high. Highly recommended!!!
Our go to place for happy hour! Won t go wrong with this place! Highly recommend!
Loved our experience here. Got the tofu hunan kung pao, yam fries and the caramelized cheesecake. Also got the Stanley Park Sunsetter, a peach wheat ale that I loved to bits. The kung pao rice and the yam fries were great, the cheesecake was a little too salty and thick for my taste but still tasty. We also got a cappuccino which we loved, and this is one place which serves lattes till late night which is rare!
Its always a great time at Earls. Very consistent service, friendly staff, great food. This location has innovative items as they are the test kitchen. Highly recommend. Happy hour is also great and 2 pm to 5 pm, starting now at $4. Some items are overpriced regularly.
Visited the Earls Test Kitchen one evening and ate the delicious Queen Bee pizza (spicy with hot honey). Tasted much better than it has any right to be.
Good food, good service, nice ambience..
Pop comes so full of ice that three sips and the cup is empty. Had three refills and was still quite thirsty because there was barely any liquid in glass and the servers didn t go out of their way for refills. Drinks do not come with straws so you need to make extra request. Our group purchased a chicken ceaser salad and the lettuce was so wet from rinsing it ruined the flavor. Also ordered the pizza and it was quite tasteless. Don t bring kids to this restaurant, not family friendly. Nothing on menu that caters to children under 12. Better restaurant for singles and seniors Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Bathroom on second floor that you reach by long set of stairs
Vegetarian options: Separate section in their menu Food
