Inspired by the values of sharing memorable moments around the table with family and friends, Elisa offers a reimagined take on the signature steakhouse experience. Executive Chef Andrew Richardson and his brigade tend the stunning Grillworks Infierno to produce our extensive wood-fired menu of prime steak cuts from around the world, sustainable seafood, and locally sourced vegetable-forward dishes. Tartares, Oysters on the Half Shell, Seafood Towers, and cured fish and meats round out our menu of fresh and flame-grilled offerings.
Took my work team here for an end of the year dinner. Food was amazing, atmosphere was perfect and service was impeccable! Highly recommend the Beef Wellington!
Elisa is a special place to me. I’ve spent my last four birthdays here for good reason. The service is always top notch on top of great food. Today, I decided to bring my parents along with me for their first experience. My mom is someone who lets her opinions be known and isn’t afraid of confrontation. We were seated at a booth and my mom wasn’t happy with her seat and wanted to be moved. The manager? Claire, was very kind and helpful, and quickly extinguished a tense situation by moving us to a different seating area (big thanks). Our server was Eduardo and he was extremely kind and gave the best service I’ve ever had at Elisa. We ordered our usuals and everything was delicious. We started with bread and butter with olive oil. The olive oil was fragrant and delicious. My only “beef” with Elisa is that their bread is served cold. I’m not sure why it isn’t warmed up before served, but otherwise it was delicious. We had the classic beef tartare which tasted incredible today. It had a nice smoky flavour and the bread had a perfect char. We ordered the kusshi and beau oysters which were decent. The Cesar salad was saucy, and had an adequate amount of flavour - the croutons are the best part. We had our usual whole roasted chicken which was perfectly moist and paired with the rich gravy made it one of the best roasted chickens I’ve ever had. We ordered the macleod’s leap, fort macleod, alberta bone-in striploin which didn’t seem to have much flavour unfortunately. Alternatively, the snake river farms, idaho wagyu striploin was flavourful. For our sides, we had the fries which were delicious, the onion rings which were crunchy as usual, and the brussel sprouts and broccolini. The brussel sprouts were a bit too burnt for my liking, and the broccolini fell a bit flat with just the flavour of balsamic vinegar. We finished off our meal with their baked Alaska which I get every year and it was delicious but had the remnants of alcohol which was pleasant. Eduardo our sever went above and beyond. He brought us some pork croquettes which were so good, and also brought us a small platter of desserts on the house. Looking forward to going to Elisa again soon.
The food was delicious, my friend ordered a wagyu steak and I got the bone in rib eye. The flavours and the texture of the meat including the temperature was just perfect. -cocktails were very tasty, you can find a big variety of different cocktails. From the classic ones to other creations from the restaurant. -Service as also very good, server was friendly and knew how to approach to us. -Being in different steakhouses in Vancouver, I can tell you this is one of the best places I’ve ever been. Planning to coming back to celebrate my birthday here.
Elisa is a good steakhouse, but it is not worth the price. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, but lacked flavour. However, the bison tartare and max and cheese were delicious. The service was exceptional, and the restaurant had a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
Very upscale steak house with excellent food. Our server Lucas provided us outstanding services. We were a bit surprised that they do offer wines of “reasonable” price! Had a fantastic dining experience overall.
This is the best Wellington steak I've had in Canada. The meat was incredibly impressive, and the side dishes were also very fresh. The scallop appetizer was delicious, and the beef tartare with truffle had great texture. I will definitely try other steaks the next time I come. Love this place so much
Elisa is my go-to spot and the best place in town for dry-aged steak. Their wine selection is equally impressive, always perfectly complementing the meal. The vibe is fantastic, and the service is consistently welcoming and warm, making every visit a memorable experience. I can't think of a better place for a special occasion or just an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend!
Five stars+ for this restaurant! We ended up dining here three times — it was that good! The service was incredible — friendly, professional staff who pay attention to the needs and wants of their guests. The food was also incredible! The steaks were prepared at our preferred temperature and all the sides and starters were great compliments. The Somm, Esme is very knowledgeable and was kind enough to chat with us about the wines we had. Great dining experience at Elisa. This will remain in our go-to restaurants when we return to Vancouver.
I have no idea why, after so many years in Vancouver, this was my first time here. From the moment I walked in, the warm greeting at the front desk set the tone for an exceptional evening. I was seated within minutes of my arrival, and the servers, along with the sommelier, were attentive to every detail. The space is beautifully designed and inviting, creating the perfect ambiance. The food was not only presented with elegance but also delivered incredible flavor. I started with the giant shrimp cocktail and oysters, paired with an excellent house Negroni. For the main course, I enjoyed a perfectly cooked rare Beef Wellington, followed by Fernet and the house special crème brûlée for dessert. This is not just a place to eat; it s a place to dine, to sit with friends, as I did, and celebrate. I highly recommend this restaurant. Of course, it s on the $$$ side, but as they say, good things never come cheap.
Just had and incredible dinner with my beautiful wife what topped it off was our waiter Eduardo was awesome and our food was over the top steak was cook to perfection will definitely return first class just had an incredible dinner
Excellent service, the right kind and amount of attention. Tons of non-alcoholic drink options that aren t just juice and soda. They made me a non-alcoholic version of their earl grey martini. Delicious! It should be on their menu. Lively ambiance, energetic but not so loud you can t have a conversation. Most of the food was great, especially the sides. We had their triple fried fries, broccolini, and Brussels sprouts. The crème brûlée wasn t traditional which is my favourite, but it was excellent, especially the crumble underneath. My only disappointment was my whole fish came de-boned. Doing it myself is part of the experience. Also, keeping the bone in makes the texture of the cooked fish better. The others at my table enjoyed their steaks. This is a great place to bring work colleagues or a special occasion. Although having said that, I d totally pop by and order their white bean soup and some bread to go. Btw, the bread was phenomenal, chewy inside with a crunchy exterior and a hint of a smoky grilled flavour. Highly recommend.
Overall a good place to celebrate a special occasion. I d say food was about a 4.5/5. Service was 4. Our server dissapeared a few times, but no big deal. Great flavours, great drinks, great atmosphere. Although, I wish their bread would come warmed up - but that may just be me cause I love love love bread.
Elisa is a well-known number 1 steak house in Vancouver. Make sure you make reservations at least a few days beforehand, or else you wont have a spot except maybe a bar seat. We ordered the seafood platter for two and 6oz Idaho waygu. Seafood is a good deal for $67, not sure for local, but it is definitely a deal for Toronto people. The platter has 6 oysters, cocktail shrimp, cured hamachi, tuna with avocado, and smoke salmon. The seafood is very fresh overall but the shrimp is a bit on the smaller side. The Idaho steak is a must to order. Great deal $65 for 6oz. Enough for us to share since we had a late and heavy lunch. We would come back for another meal if we stay longer in Vancouver. Keep in mind $21 valet parking is worth because it is hard to find parking in Yaletown.
Great service, food, and the baked Alaska is a must try
Food was bland. Server accidentally gave us wrong order. Generally servers were not happy and didnt complement the atmosphere. Was not asked how our main meal was.
Great atmosphere! Great and friendly service and great food. I had the Rib Eye steak and my wife had the Branzino..cooked to perfection..great place for a work dinner, or a night out with friends.
super delicious food, a bit overpriced but overall good fancy celebration spot. mash potato is the best Ive ever had.
As always you never failed to impress us. Service & food was amazing. It was unfortunate that you guys ran out of the beef Wellington that night as it was one of the thing we wanted to try but that gives us the excuse to come back. Keep it up and you ll be seeing us again soon.
Amazing food, spectacular drinks, warm and welcoming hospitality. We dont come here very often but when we do, its always enjoyable! Nicole was our server and she was a delight. Very kind, helpful, and engaging. We loved all the drinks she suggested, appetizers we had oysters, smoked bison tartare and burrata, our mains we had lamb rack and lobster and they were all absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to come back again!
This is the 3rd time that we go to Elisa, this time with friends and what can we say, everything is amazing, we went with the Yellowfin tuna, burrata and as main thing we went with Tomahawk
Food, wine, service, and ambience was excellent. It is pricy though
Did the tartare trio and opted for the bison which was delicious, the signature was great too and the veal was a bit mild. 12oz prime ribeye was okay. Seemed more like AAA than prime. The meat was dense with little marbling aside for some chunks of fat that were uneatable.
This is one of the best food Ive ever had in my life. The Wagyu is just heavenly, I also tried the porterhouse and that was amazing to. The service is also impeccable. Thanks Michael and Lucas.
It helps when you get invited to a dinner in a private room but on tjis occasion Elisa hit it out of the park. Attentive yet not distracting service, excellent food and wine and the perfect atmosphere to entertain guests from another country. Well done Elisa
Great experience ! Some would say there s not enough light but it makes it more intimate. Meat was perfectly cooked and tasty, definitely a place I would recommend for this type of budget.
Elisa never fails to impress. Great food, love the vibe, the service is fantastic. Their mushroom risotto was to die for; its a bummer they took it off the menu. Food
First meal after touching down in Vancouver. Ordered the scallops, beef tartare, ribeye, tenderloin, brussel sprouts, and onion rings. Overall everything was pretty good. One of the better tartares Ive tried, fantastic onion rings, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. I had the ribeye for myself and thought it was good but pretty average for a $96 piece of meat. The tenderloin my friend had was good as well. The starter bread was alright, I also thought the scallops probably couldve used a different sauce. Great steakhouse, but we can all agree the steak isnt worth $90+
Great place.
David is the GOAT I honestly just took all of his suggestions and he killed it! Thank You David! Food
We chose Elisa Steakhouse for our first night out as a family with our 2-month-old daughter, and it couldnt have been a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional. They warmly welcomed us and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable with a bassinet in tow. They seated us at an incredible table that allowed us to enjoy our evening while still accommodating our little one. As for the food wow! It exceeded all expectations. Every dish was perfectly prepared, showcasing the high quality and care Elisa is known for. This wasn t just a dinner; it was an experience that felt special for our family milestone. A huge thank you to the team at Elisa for making our first family night out so memorable. Well definitely be back!
The meat that was recommended to us was spoiled and made us sick. The Alberta steak was good but not made well. I would not recommend this place.
Elite service and restaurant is high class.
Far better than Gotham. The best steaks in town! My go to place once every 2 months at least! Servers are very friendly and food is always great!
Food is very good but compared to other steakhouses in Vancouver like Hys or the Victor or Black and Blue its not spectacularly different. Service is really great though! Expect to pay over $300 for 2 people. Food : 4/5
The whole experience was flawless. 3rd time back, 6 guests, family style steak selection. AMAZING!!! Alex our server was attentive, informative and courteous. This is the no#1 dining experience in Vancouver, hands down. Well done to all the staff!!
Exceptional meal and service. Had the wagyu steak, it melted in my mouth, perfectly cooked. Incredible bar and ambiance.
Alex is amazing. We loved it. Amazing experience.
Excellent service
Oh, its not just a restaurant; it s a love letter to perfectly cooked meat. We recently went there with friends, and let me tell you, I m still dreaming about the food. First, the steak. I dont know what kind of wizardry they ve got going on in the kitchen, but that steak was divine. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned like it was blessed by a grill god. And just when I thought it couldn t get any better, the chicken showed up perfectly moist and flavorful. It made me question every chicken Ive ever had before. The sides? They weren t just supporting actors; they were full-on co-stars. Mushrooms, crispy fries, and brussel sprouts that made me feel a little better about the steak and chicken I was devouring. The deserts? Oh, boy. Let s just say I m still trying to figure out how to convince them to package up that creme brule and send it to me every week.
We spent our anniversary dinner at Elisa. We split the scallops to start then both had a 6oz tenderloin and finished with a creme brulee. The service was fantastic from the moment I walked in. Our jackets were taken as soon as we arrived at our seats and we were greeted by two beautiful glasses of champagne to celebrate our occasion. The service was extremely prompt but never too much, which was nice as I dont enjoy being constantly asked about how the food was. I never had a empty glass of water and as soon as a plate was emptied a server would quickly take it away and clean the table. My only issue (if you could call it that) was it was a very loud restaurant. I understand it is a large restaurant with lots of people so its not even really a issue, more just a comment. We absolutely our time at Elisa and will be returning soon!
This was our first time visiting Elisa and we were extremely impressed with the food and service!!! We shred the 50oz Tomahawk Steak, it was cooked perfectly and the sides were chose were delicious!!! For desert we shared the Baked Alaska, it was so Good!!! We will definitely go back!!!
One of the best steakhouses in Vancouver. We celebrated a birthday and ordered steak tartare, ribeye, sable fish, brussel sprouts and baked alaska. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic.
Both the cured hamachi and the veal tartare were very tasty. As European it was nice to get such good bread :) and sparkling water! :) The porterhouse steak was excellent, perfectly prepared, a great choice to share! Very nice atmosphere, great selection of wine. The waiter was very competent and very attentive.
Best meal Ive ever had
We went here for my husbands birthday this year. It was a wonderful experience! We had a few drinks - Erdinger and Rosero - the cocktail was delicious, so I had a second. For our food, we started with a salad; probably the best salad I have ever had. We ordered individual steaks, and I got the peppercorn sauce on the side. I ordered the tenderloin medium, but it came out as rare. I got them to cook it to medium. We both enjoyed our steaks very much - again, it was probably the best steak I have ever had. We ordered the onion rings, triple fried fries, brussel sprouts, and broccolini on the side. Id recommend all of them, but not at once - it was way too much food for just the two of us. For dessert, we got the creme brulee, and again, it was probably the best creme brulee I have ever had. This meal was just amazing. We will definitely return!
Great food, atmosphere! We usually get the steak or the chicken apples are all amazing too!!! Best part is how close it is to enhance arts spa we hop over after a great reflexology and eat some food and have drinks
Nice Ambience, Amazing food with great servers. The Wagyu Beef (Brant Lake Farm,AB) Bavette 6.0 oz and Picanha 6.5 oz, with Porterhouse Beef Steak & Lamb Rack are All Halal!
Great experience! Love the atmosphere. I made a reso for a celebration and date and they gave us the perfect corner table! The food came out at the perfect time between salad and mains and dessert. We also brought a cake and they cut it nicely for us. They forgot to give us our cake back, but the overall experience and atmosphere was 10/10 for me. They did text me after about the cake. This is my second time here. I was recommended the chicken from a friend and they still had a portion left so we ordered it and it was very tender. I prefer their chicken over the one at homer st. Cafe. by far. Highly recommend ordering that. I found the seasonal white truffle risotto a little too cheesy for me and savory, but still okay. Last time I got the fish (deboned) and tried a bunch of the steaks as well, and all did not disappoint. I would happily come back.
Lucas was an unbelievable server. The food was amazing and same with the atmosphere.
Crab roll, Miyazaki Wagu steak and creme brulee was excellent, large selection spirits to choose from. New favorite downtown steakhouse
Second visit and both occasions were excellent. Excellent food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Seems that all staff are truly wanting you to have a great experience. The servers are top notch. Don t skip dessert. Our group tried them all and there wasn t a bad one!
So a little controversial opinion on this one. I had an amazing overall experience especially due to the service and atmosphere, would go back for that alone. So when it comes to my 4/5 for the steak I just cant find that extra star. We decided on the Alberta Grass fed + grain Angus 12 oz Ribeye that was the special that evening, it came very highly recommended by our server. It was absolutely one of the most accurate medium rare steaks I have ever served, best cooked steak I have ever consumed. The melt in your mouth I was promised was missing though, notably lacking in fact. Theres where the star is lost as I regret not ordering one of the aged Ribeyes like I had planned. Again, Im looking forward to my next visit to try another menu item and I do have to drop a 5/5 for the Tune Tartare!
Dined at Elisa, premier steakhouse, in yale town. It was recommended to us by a colleague with an exceptional taste for the culinary experience. It did not disappoint. Brad, our server, guided us through the menu providing outstanding service for our dining experience. The beef wellington was prepared to perfection, and the sides were the perfect compliment to the main course. We capped dinner off with the baked Alaska for desert which was absolutely devine. The ambiance was perfect and made a night out for dinner feel like a special occasion to celebrate. We will be definitely returning. Highly recommend!
Interesting place in Vancouver, specialized in meat. The meat was good, no doubt about that. Service is overall good but sometimes a little bit slow and not perfectly coordinated between meat and vegetables. Good atmosphere.
My husband and I visited this restaurant on November 10 around 6:30 PM. We understand it was busy, and we weren t ordering a lot, as we were just looking for a light dinner. The food and atmosphere were great, but unfortunately, the service was the worst we ve experienced in a long time. Our server, who had tattoos, circle glasses, and a beard, barely spoke to us throughout the meal. We never caught his name because he barely said more than three words. At one point, he asked us a question while walking by and, as we were starting to answer, he had already moved on. It was clear he didn t care about our response. Despite the poor service, we tried not to let it ruin our evening. Both of us have worked in service before and understood that it was busy, and that our smaller bill might not have required as much attention. We still tipped 18% because we didn t know how the tips were split between servers and the back-of-house staff. However, when we returned to our hotel and opened our takeout, we were disappointed to find our truffle mac and cheese (which we only had a couple bites of) and the Brussels sprouts (which we didn t touch) all thrown together in one container, in a messy way as if they d been carelessly tossed in. This final detail really soured our experience and unfortunately, overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice evening before we fly back home tomorrow morning. I don t usually write reviews or publicly complain, but the entire experience from start to finish was one of the worst service encounters weve had.
Definitely my favourite steakhouse in Vancouver. I comeback all the time just for Blue Dot.
Jerry has incredible sense of detail regarding the Wagyu and did an excellent job looking after us in every way. Superb service from him and the restaurant and the food was unbelievable - Japanese Wagyu was incredible
Elisa receives kudos in Vancouvers dining world. They are well deserved. Our steaks were excellent. The sommelier suggested a wine that paired well with our meal. Our server was one of the evenings highlights. She was personable, knowledgeable, and professional. You can tell that the owners/manager really try to find the right person for their role.
Incredible dinner and service! We were there for a private function in a private room and the service and food were amazing!
Everything about this restaurant was incredible. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about all items on the menu and was ready to accommodate food allergies. The waygu steak from Japan was the absolute best steak Ive ever had. Spendy, yes, but it suits the quality of the experience.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Seared scallops with a Thai salsa were delicious and the tenderloin and ribeye were cooked perfectly and tasted the same. I wish more places did a ribeye cut like this. 12oz was perfect! Food
Great dining experience. Highly recommend!
Best steakhouse Ive been to in Vancouver! Every dish we had was fantastic
Awesome vibe ,good food and quick service I would recommend ! Plus the most balling bathrooms I have ever seen !
Amazingly good upper class restaurant. First of all, the staff, they really know their staff, make you feel extremely welcome and are thoroughly well informed on what s on offer. The food, what can I say, everything we ordered was just perfect. We started with soup and carpaccio, then had aged steak and non aged steak, plus lamb ribs, and for sides we had Brussels sprouts, risotto, baked and mashed potatoes and sort of macaroni and cheese plus a bottle of wine and a pre dinner drink. Even their sour dough bread, tastes exactly like the one we have back home in Malta, and that s something. Highly recommended for the meat lovers
I eat here twice a week. It s one of my favourite restaurants in the city.
Thanks for making our first experience last night exceptional! The crab spring roll, wagyu, and dessert were amazing... I think the Baked Alaska was honestly the best dessert Ive ever had. Unpopular opinion - I wouldnt choose the tomahawk again but I think its just personal preference. Thanks so much.
Elisa is truly a standout dining experience. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable attention to detail. The food is simply outstanding every dish is prepared to perfection, and the quality is undeniable. The steaks, in particular, are phenomenal, cooked exactly as requested with flavors that leave a lasting impression. The Tomahawk steak is an absolute must-try, a true showcase of their culinary expertise. The atmosphere is elegant yet inviting, making it perfect for any occasion. Whether its a special night out or just a meal with friends, Elisa always delivers beyond expectations. It s hands down one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. Highly recommended!
Overall, the food tastes good, and the atmosphere is amazing. its my new go to spot now.
The staff was amazingly nice and the food was awesome
Nestled in the heart of beautiful Vancouver, from the moment you walk in, the elegant ambiance envelops you, with soft lighting and tasteful decor setting the stage for a memorable evening. As for the meat, it s truly top-notch. Each cut is sourced from the finest suppliers, and it shows. Elisa combines high-quality meat, outstanding service, and an inviting atmosphere to create an unforgettable evening.
Nice service and food, expensive though
One or the best steak place in town. Great service - thank you, Lucca! Amazing wine list. I would guess 500+ wines. They are very attentive people who are passionate about their job. Food : 5/5
This was an exceptional experience! The A5 wagyu is a must, and all of the tartars were perfection! I have celiac disease and almost their entire menu was safe for me, the staff are informed, and I didnt react after, which almost always normally happens at restaurants! The Bison Tartare is a MUST! Sean was an 11/10 waiter, informed, and funny! Now I am going to suggest Elisa for future corporate events! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
The roasted chicken is very delicious, the roasting ingredients are spread on the inside of the skin
We loved food and service. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Front desk and support staff were amazing as well and everyone made me feel so special on my birthday! Thank you
The food here was great and the service was top notch - everyone especially our server Eddie was just marvelous. Must try their Friday+ weekend only item - prime rib! Highly recommend!
Excellent red wines
Steak was cooked perfectly, wine was a good price, potato roesti was very tasty. Highly recommend.
Great restaurant, had higher hopes for the food but still was really good. Great service from the server Olexei.
Yyyyyyyyyeah you can t beat this. Definitely top 3 and it s not 3. The baked Alaska changed my life. For the worse. Now I go to sleep thinking about it. I wake up thinking about it. My girlfriend is threatening to leave me because she thinks I love the baked Alaska more than her. No but in all seriousness most stuff here is super good. Service is great. A secret ridiculously good item that I don t even want to put on here in fear of it always being sold out, is the chicken. They only do 3 whole chickens a night and if u get one you won t ever forget it. Garlic bread crumbs somehow injected into the skin. You can get some mayo to dip it in too. Just incredible. Risotto is amazing as well. Can t say good enough things about here. I haven t tried too many of the steaks but have tried bites of my friends and yeah.. tastes like steak idk. Not a big steak guy. Come here Dietary restrictions: Has gf options
Everything was simply great. Elisa is my top Restaurant in Vancouver. Great work. Food
had the best steak of my life at this place, amazing service and delicious drinks.
We visited Elisas to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, especially the Porterhouse steak and the red wine sauce, not to mention the classic beef tartare and salad. The best part was our friendly server Michael, who made our day even more amazing with the best service we could experience in vancouver. We would definitely recommend Elisas to those who are celebrating a special night! -was too delicious we forgot to take good photos of the food :p
My waiter was amazing! For the prices that they offer I expected great quality, however, the food just wasn t good enough to justify their prices. My girlfriend was having her birthday and they brought her an empty plate with a candle and the words happy birthday written in it; just to be clear, the plate was literally empty; Ive been at lots of restaurants and this has never happen before, they normally at least bring some kind of dessert as a sign of courtesy but im afraid this wasnt the case
10/10, servers were fantastic and very attentive. Food is always great and consistent. We re not from Vancouver but came twice during our short stay! Highly recommended!
I was at Gotham 5 days ago for a business dinner and I told my wife when I got home that I dont like steak as much as I used to. Just finished a tenderloin here and... What a difference! Everything here is top notch. Ive been cutting down on red meat but I had a fantastic meal. Highly recommended.
I went to Elisa today to celebrate my girlfriend s birthday. The food was average, the steak wasbetter than gotham.but my main complaint is about the service. When we arrived, the hostess wished us a happy birthday, but when we ordered dessert, there was no candle or birthday greeting. Meanwhile, the table next to us was also celebrating a birthday and got both a candle and a greeting. My girlfriend was on the verge of tears it was so disappointing! It really ruined what was supposed to be a special moment.
Best place for steak in Vancouver!
Miriam had such great people skills, and was so amazing!! Everything she recommended from the wine to the steaks had exceeded our expectations, and made our experience so incredible. Definitely coming back soon. :)
Amazing service, probably the best Ive had in a Canadian restaurant. The streak was amazing as well. Definitely worth the experience.
Top notch food and service. Our goto steakhouse in Vancouver. Must make reservations, always busy.
The food was amazing. Some of the best steak ever! The potatoes and Mac and cheese, wine and cocktails were all amazing.
Very wonderful dinner and drinks!! We loved our anniversary dinner here and highly recommend Elisa. Shout out to our kind waitress (blonde hair, glasses) who was more than willing to accommodate my dietary restrictions (gf bread even!). Thank you!!
so good and overall worth the hype and food was exquisite for the price service was great too!!
We came here because they have a large selection of tartares (I ordered all of them). I love steak tartare and I would always order the tartare whenever its offered on a menu. I was very satisfied by the quality and taste of the tartare. My husband ordered the Holstein dairy cow steak. We both really liked the steak as it has more cow taste than other steaks. For example: you know when you use less water for the soup for instant noodles and the soup becomes more flavourful? The steak is exactly like that, but for cow. We will be returning to this restaurant for more special occasion dinners.
Had the prime rib. Delicious and excellent service. Served was very knowledgeable.
Definitely one of the best dining experiences in Vancouver. Very high end if you desire this affair.
We went for our anniversary and we were served by leama. She was great server, awesome conversationalist, well knowledge in the menu and steaks and recommended our perfect meal. The beef carpaccio is to die for, if I knew it would be so good I would have ordered 5!! The tuna tar tar was fresh but perhaps a tad more flavour. Steaks were out of this world! I got the 6oz Abbotsford tenderloin and husband for the 12 oz 40 day aged ribeye. I always feel these Vancouver steak houses and mediocre steaks but these were outstanding! The only point we think they lost a bit was the ambience. It seemed pretty jam packed and very little ability to have a private conversation, mind you this was Friday night. Will definitely be back and recommend !
After hearing countless recommendations to try Elisa, we finally caved. Overall, I can see why its received its longstanding praise, but a few aspects of the meal could be improved. The main event, our steak, was seasoned and cooked well and we were happy with our selection of cut. With that being said, I do think the price point for the sides are rather steep for some items, so its wise to select sides and apps you will really enjoy alongside the steak otherwise you may leave feeling slightly underwhelmed as having steak itself, is not usually enough to blow you away. I recommend the hamachi as a solid and a safe choice. The bison tartare fell short as it was not as smokey in flavour as I wouldve liked and was a tad under-seasoned -sadly, a miss for me despite all the rave reviews for it. Elisa is still a solid contender for any special events and dinners, but theres a slight lack of creativity and overall cohesion that one may be seeking from a Michelin star restaurant.
Great service and amazing food
Had dinner with a group of 7 people and we had a fantastic experience. Our server Olekski was great at explaining all the dishes, and cuts of meat. He was patient and attentive. The environment is not stuck-up or pretentious, very comfortable with family and kids. They even had a kids menu around $15 for selections such as cheeseburger, spaghetti, chicken etc. The yellowfin tuna appy was delicious! For our steak, we were suggested to have a platter trying different cuts of meat. We enjoyed the wagyu from Idaho (suprisingly). For our specific platter for 5 people it was about $500. We were very full. Would definitely come again. Just make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and colouring sheet.
Not cheap but the steak was excellent, and service was great
Absolutely delighted with my experience at Elisa! From start to finish, everything was exceptional.
Had a phenomenal dinner the other night with friends. This was our first time trying Elisa, and it did not disappoint! First the restaurant is beautiful and our server Michael was exceptional. He made wonderful recommendations and was so friendly throughout our (3 hour) dinner. We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Being a group of 6, we got to sample a good portion of the menu. Some highlights for me were the yellowfin tuna tartare, roast sea scallops, dinosaur kale salad, the porter house prime steak and the crème brûlée. Everything we had though was delicious, even the side dishes, I do not one complaint. Even their bread to start was very good. It was a memorable meal. We will definitely be back!
It s been a few weeks but what made the most impression are the things that you remember. Could easily be a 5-star restaurant but 3-stars due to point #4 below. #1. It s quite lively and loud. Didn t realize it when we were making the resos based on the website pictures which depict a more refined, classy space. Should have realized it was Yaletown. #2. Our server was super bright and friendly. I can t remember her name but I remember her family s originally from Mexico. Hats off to you. #3. Ironically, we felt like the appies were better than the steaks. The flavours and combinations of all the various dishes were unique and delicious, especially the cured hamachi, vegetable tartare (which was literally just fancy guacamole) and bruschetta. We had a seafood allergy at the table so we couldn t order any but I was definitely intrigued. #4. We had a 5:45PM reservation and they needed us out by 8PM. It took awhile for our steaks to come so we had to finish our mains within 35 minutes and so couldn t try their dessert. The rushed experience doesn t quite match up with the premium price. Getting tables turned on you even though you spent over $150 per person before alcohol AND you made resos AND you are limited to 2 hours while the kitchen took over 30 minutes to bring out the main course isn t a good feeling.
We were so excited to celebrate our 25th anniversary. So booked for Elisa. SO DISAPPOINTED IN OUR EXPERIENCE. So over priced! My Caesar salad was a joke. Hys makes the BEST CAESAR SALAD IN VANCOUVER. THEY MAKE IT IN FRONT OF U. I love Sable fish. It was poached great. And then it was like the poured soy sauce over it. My husbands rib eye steak was good but Hys is better. And ridiculous prices for sides dishes. Drinks were good. Its NOT THE BEST STEAK RESTAURANT IN VANCOUVER. OH WELL IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE. NEVER GO AGAIN THATS FOR SURE.
Impeccable on every level. Old school new york style high end service that is unpretentious. Food is outstanding. A treasure in Vancouver.
Went here for my 60th Birthday and this place is amazing. Had the Tomahawk and it was grilled to perfection. The seafood platter was also top notch. Service was impeccable too.
At the beginning, we were abandoned by the wait staff. We sat for awhile and asked a few servers to assist with a drink order (our server was busy). Thereafter, the service was fabulous once she arrived and was extremely attentive. The round table for 8 people was perfect and food was divine. Issue was the upfront service... Other that, it was a fabulous experience and I would gladly recommend it. Last thing, pricing was fair too with drinks and appetizers and mains plus shared dishes plus tip!
We came to Elisa to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we will definitely be back. Our server Oleksii was very attentive and provided great friendly service. The food was phenomenal, from the buratta and carpaccio to the wagyu steaks and to the cheescake finale. Thank you Elisa for helping make this special occasion even more special!
This place isnt good as before. Staff are non existent. Female bar staff take your change and keep it for themselves. thief
One of the best restaurants you ll ever visit. Service was amazing and food is fantastic Dosent get much better then this. Food
We were here for our friend s birthday dinner. Great ambiance for a date or dinner. Good service
If youre looking for an amazing steak and great service this is where to be! If you dont know anything about steaks they give you the run thru on what you will like according to your preferences. I will definitely be going back with friends.
Delightful atmosphere with great service. We had a 10 pm reservation for 4 and enjoyed the best Halal steak we have had throughout Canada. Desserts were delicious. Food : 5/5
Always the best steak in the city. From their grass fed, dry aged to their Japanese wagyu, it never disappoints.
Excellent place, the food tasted excellent, highly recommended but what we liked most was the great service and attention they gave us, without a doubt when I return to Vancouver they will be my favorite option!
The steak was the best we have eaten anywhere in the world. However the sides were not good. The Brussels were overly sharp with lemon, the porcini mushrooms were slimy. Would definitely recommend for carnivores, but order chips with your steak!!!
A very cool and lovely place, with great staff, strong management, and the best chef in the world.
Top quality in every way. Decor is fantastic, thoughtful service, amazing food. Highly recommend the beef carpaccio. Steak was very juice and tender, cooked to requested doneness. Dessert was also delicious though we only had room to share one. I recommend the cheesecake. Would definitely go again.
We ve always been regulars at Elisa, it has some excellent chefs, a great selection of steaks, chicken, tartar, raw bar.. The Bartenders are very friendly, we know them well, However, through the many times we ve shown up at Elisa, we have encountered a congested front desk, a state of confusion, reservation mistakes and not so friendly front desk staff.. It s not the first time, it s been many times, I ve witnessed dissatisfied clients leaving because of the ridiculous front desk.. I am a regular at hys and Gotham and blue water I ve seen restaurants skyrocket in Vancouver and fall like hot potato because of mishandling.. Learn customer service from Black and blue. You have excellent food, chefs, bartenders . Don t let simple front desk employees ruin a great reputable restaurant
Great atmosphere, great food, great ambience for get together with friends. Upscale and yet casual at the same time.
Fantastic
Its a famous steak restaurant, so I made a reservation and went there. However, I made a reservation for the next day. Still, they accepted walk-ins because I went before 5 oclock. The atmosphere was very nice, the servers were very friendly, and there were a lot of people. However, the price seemed a bit high. Tip was 18%. It was in 2% increments. Still, the server was very friendly and the tip was okay. Highly recommended if you are looking for a delicious steakhouse in Vancouver. Kid-friendliness: A good place to go with children
First time going there and I would say overall it is good. The drinks are 10/10 as they were strong so you feel like it s worth your money. They give you bread to start but I do wish it is warm bread. The carpaccio is 8/10 very good just lacks some sauce. The yellowtuna tartare was really overly rated it s a 4/10 for me, not much taste, very boring. The Mac & cheese was good nothing special and the portion is very small I rate it good 7/10 still as I love Mac & cheese! The steak 11/10 the kagoshima prefecture, japan wagyu tenderloin was just too amazing! The cheesecake is also really yummy!
Our server was absolutely amazing. She had great recommendation. The steak was cooked to perfection and don t forget the cheese cake
Excellent food in the heart of Yaletown. Our server suggested we do a share table with 3 steaks and sides. Excellent suggestion that allowed us to sample some of the larger cuts that normally would have not been an option. Will be back for sure.
Wagyu is very solid. Fairly expected for the price tag. Vancouver Strip was about expected. Wasnt mind blowing but was a very good steak. The baked Alaska was incredibly presented but not best dessert ever taste-wise that was built up from references (although it was good).
I am from Ottawa. ELISA, was supposed to be one of the best spots for steak in Vancouver, but it was just OK. The tartar was good, the sides were good and the tenderloin was good but lacking flavour. We tried a new steak that was on the menu and it was tough. The waitress was very great and nice. I would not return to this restaurant for the steak. I wish I was offered to have the tough steak taken off the bill.
Atmosphere was great but that s about it. Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant which is known for its steaks. The starters were not bad. But the steaks were a letdown.
Steaks are amazing. I ordered a side plate of mac& cheese (needed some salt) and brussel sprouts. Overall, friendly staff. Vegetarian options: It is a steakhouse so its not an ideal place for vegetarians but they do have great side plates and salads to choose from.
Great dining experience Steak and appetizers were all beyond expectations Our waitress was able to recommend choices that accommodate our appetites as family with young children. We were very happy with our dining experience at Elisa
David is the best waiter, we had a group of 6 and he was very helpful with helping us figure out what to order and how much. Flawless service. Even came outside to tell us that our food is ready when we stepped out for air. Best steakhouse and waiter in Vancouver
Elisa was really good but, David our waiter. Really made it special for us, he actually cared n didn t just quickly try n kick us out, told us exactly what to get, came back multiple times, actually was fun to talk to aswell. Great hearted person I wish him the best, food was great aswell glad he was our waiter, thank you
This place is the best !!! We sit at the bar and Dereck takes good care of us The food is excellent The atmosphere is excellent!!! Food : 5/5 |
Our group had the pleasure of being served by David who is phenomenal, David took great care of us and provided some amazing recommendations. Food was also amazing, everything was made to perfection. Easily the best steakhouse in Vancouver.
This place is phenomenal, everything we had was unbelievably good. The tartar tasting trio was out of this world and the service was exceptional! 10/10 Wheelchair accessibility: Its wheelchair accessible
Start to finish and post: it was a wonderful experience! Service was outstanding. Our server was wonderful and every recommendation she made was spot on. The food was terrific, even though they were quite busy; we did not wait long. It was very busy and our bill was switched with another partys bill. My husband did not review the detailed portion and just paid the balance. While on our way back to the hotel, the restaurant called us to alert us of the mix up and they had refunded the difference back on our card already. Our server caught the error and alerted her Manager. First time in Vancouver and this was our favorite place. When we return to Vancouver, we will return to Elisa.
Fantastic atmosphere an upscale vibe. The food was amazing
Best steakhouse in Vancouver, there s really no contest.
Amazing ambience but the steak was disappointing. For the price I was battling tendons and inedible bits. I have a lot of experience eating beef in the best steak and chop houses in Chicago. The meat buyer needs a better source or to take a trip to Chicago to experience what a high-end steak house provides. Drawing on this will make Elisa a destination instead of a one-time stop. Also I was turned off by a request from staff to move bar patrons to a different location and to accommodate a high roller & friends multi-seat position. Those spots then sat empty for close to an hour which was enough for the relocated patrons (a successful realtor and an art dealer) to finish their entire meal. The baller then showed up in a sloppy black T-shirt (yes I m judging) with his friends in tow to finally occupy the seats. The manager even showed up to shake hands with the baller but in my opinion not a class act. So the Yaletown ambience is there but improvement in meat quality is needed and up leveling the class of treatment of patrons is needed. Unless the schtick is just to appeal to the few sloppy rich guys until the novelty wears off for them. I ll head back in a few months to see if any improvements.
Had an excellent dinner here. Service was top notch and food was very good. Pricey but worth the splurge in my opinion for special occasions.
What an amazing restaurant. We went for my girlfriend s birthday and it was one of the best dining experiences I ve ever had. The food was absolutely phenomenal and our wonderful server Oleksii went above and beyond for us. He has a ton of experience and puts it to good use. I would highly recommend coming to Elisa.
I celebrated my birthday with my fiancé in this place and it was wonderful, they had details that made us feel special, the food is the most delicious I have ever tasted in my life, and the service was 10/10, thank you to everyone who makes up the Elisa group, you deserve your Michelin star.
Wonderful steak place. The service is awesome
Great stake. I give 4 starts just because the dessert wasn t really amazing, super sweet. But the food was EXCELLENT and service also great. The start was a bison, also excellent :).
Absolutely top. Would 10/10 recommend The steak was perfect, the side dishes were delish. We sat on the patio and had a super time. Service was exceptional Food
I ve been to Elisa numerous times & always had a great time. But my previous dinner was short of that. Everyone who worked there seemed like they were having a bad day or hated their job. Service was minimal. Something that really threw me off was when one of the servers was clearing our table, he took a plate full of bread that was left, I had ask him to leave it because 1. It was full & 2. The kids were eating it. This server decided to say with the worse attitude you have a lot of food coming but ok super uncalled for. Most likely won t be coming back & looking at the other reviews seems like the service has gone downhill.
I will come back for the cured hamachi. Smoked bison was good too, but the portion was too big for me. Baked Alaska was fun Parking: Street parking was tight. There is a garage nearby, but there is a risk of break in
While visiting Vancouver we were finally able to make a reservation at Elisa, we have been looking forward to it for quite some time. Service and atmosphere were top tier, the patio is beautiful. Our meal was delicious, but if Im honest I was a little disappointed if only because I had extremely high expectations. Our steak and sides just werent a cut above the rest of the options in town, however our dessert was amazing. Given a choice in the future, I would likely opt for Gotham or Hys instead and save $100. The difference in cost at Elisa was not reflected in our experience.
Best steak fancy.
Great service and atmosphere
Excellent dinner at Elisa. We sat at the patio, it was a beautiful setting with amazing weather. The food, the service and the warm hospitality was truly remarkable. It was our last night during our visit to Vancouver, and Elisa was the perfect highlight to end it on. We will be back for sure, whenever in Vancouver!
This is my personal experience. I went there August 15 2024, my 50th birthday. I walked in with my beautiful girlfriend. She mentioned that it was my birthday. The service was impeccable from the start. We were seated at a table that allowed us to people watch( love it ). David was our server(well come back to him) I felt like a train that was about to leave the station, the service kinda started slow, but I never felt abandoned. David came up and was the best! The way he explained the menu, and made us feel welcomed. He was professional, friendly and honest. He actually was genuine! I ordered the 20oz bone-in ribeye. The MOST tender tasty steak that I have ever eaten. My girl ordered the tenderloin, she was ,simply put, happy!! I feel bad that I never asked who cooked our steaks! Please let the chef know that I said thank you. We stared with the beef carpaccio, beautiful! We ended with the cheesecake, magical!! I want to say thank you to the staff!! You made my 50th birthday the best!! With all my heart!! Thank you!!
Not a fine dining, experience on level with cactus club or white spot. Servers not attentive or interactive with customers, noticeably interested in conversing in the back corner with themselves. Cocktails were served with crushed ice in a soda glass. Best steaks on menu were poor quailty. Bill was over 200 for one person
Just want to give a HUGE shoutout to Eduardo at Elisa, absolutely incredible service, very personable and very welcoming. Elisa is very lucky to have him. Overall an outstanding experience!
David was an amazing waiter. Id go one step further and request him to be our waiter next time we visit if possible.
Simply Amazing!!!
Overall, the food tastes good, and the ambiance is pleasant. The servers are very friendly, but it feels like they are a bit short-staffed. Every server seems very busy, so they might not be able to attend to each table fully. Here are the dishes I recommend: HAND-CUT BEEF CARPACCIO ($28): The beef slices are incredibly thin, paired with cheese, truffle, and sauce, making for a very appetizing starter. The portion is large, suitable for sharing among a table. ROAST SEA SCALLOPS ($29): The scallops are fresh and sweet, with a perfectly cooked, tender center. The overall taste is light and refreshing, allowing the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through without overpowering seasoning. Vancouver Cut Bone-In Tenderloin 10oz ($89): I ordered this steak out of curiosity due to its unique name and the bone-in tenderloin cut, which I haven t seen on other steakhouse menus. Overall, the restaurant did a good job with the steak s doneness. WARM VALRHONA CHOCOLATE CAKE ($16): This dessert is freshly baked upon order. It s not overly sweet, with a strong chocolate flavor. It s lighter than a typical chocolate cake, more akin to a molten lava cake. In summary, the dishes are quite standard nothing was particularly bad, but nothing stood out as exceptional either. The quality is what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, but there were no particularly memorable dishes. Vegetarian options: Do have vegetarian choice Dietary restrictions: Do accommodate dietary restrictions
Our server went beyond expectations. Excellent recommendations, and very attentive. Second time visiting your restaurant and will definitely return. Such a great vibe and superb food.
We have eaten at Elisa dozens of times. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. In one of the busiest restaurants in the city, they always make us feel welcome and valued. The food and cocktails are always on point. The wine list and wine service are the best in the city. We love this restaurant so much that we had our dinner here with friends and family after our wedding. Thanks for always doing a great job.
Had the MOST INCREDIBLE meal at Elisa in Vancouver last Friday!!! Five of us (tourists and locals) met at 7:15pm for our reservation at the swankiest steakhouse in town, located on Hamilton Street in the bustling Yaletown neighborhood of Vancouver. Our booth was perfect and service was amazing. We started with a duo of tartares (veal and beef) and the burrata salad. We then devoured the 50 ounce bone-in tomahawk ribeye, which was presented and then sliced for us at the table. Our sides were broccolini, hash browns, mushrooms, risotto and brussels sprouts. It was all incredible, and after our 2.5 hour meal, we wandered around and did some people-watching in Yaletown.
We celebrated our anniversary dinner with our family last night. The ambience was okay- nothing special. The food was passable- pricey. However, they don t go above and beyond. Usually for special occasion, other restaurants we ve been to would give a cake with a greeting or complimentary drinks. Sadly, we didn t get any. The table next to us were celebrating a birthday and they received a cake with greeting. For the price that we paid, they should treat everyone equally. It was our first time here and is also our last. I don t recommend.
Best Steak Tube in Vancouver
Elisa was an amazing dining experience! The service was excellent, Marta was our server she was so friendly we loved having her as our server! Everything we ate was delicious, the porterhouse was cooked to perfection and the tartare trio and seafood plateau were excellent we loved every bite!
What a really nice place to come. Great atmosphere, ambience and great food. The service was excellent as well as the food. Be ready to spend when you come for dinner.
The food is good, the wine list is satisfying, but not worth it for the price. Staff are not really friendly, they judge you based on your style and order, bad attitude
The waiter Alex. Was the worst service Ive ever had in my entire life. Its my birthday and we didnt get our table on the patio. Never came back to get us our wine. And although we had a good discussion about the rack of lamb and how to cook it.... Never put the order in. When the dinner was basically over he asked me if I still want it. It was my birthday and I dont know what kind of question that is. Bad service. Disrespectful waiter
Best Wagyu in Vancouver. Thank you!
Great food and the service was amazing.
I had one of the best meals here. Everything was perfect and Luca was attentive. I will be back!!
Elisa is phenomenal. The atmosphere is as interesting as the food. We tried a truly delicious Wayu and some steaks from a Wayu-Angus cross breed that balanced fat and flavor perfectly. Remarkable wine list, for dessert the crème brûlée and the cheese board were delicious. The attention as always throughout Vancouver: professional and dedicated. I can only congratulate everyone in this wonderful place.
Good food
Leama was truly the best person we could ve had looking after us tonight. She is truly a gem and one of the best at Elisa.
Amazing service and attentiveness, and very willing to support and adjust for allergies. Food and drinks were excellent, thank you!
Worth every bit of the incredible reviews I read. All of the food was incredible and the service amazing!
Very tasty steaks and fantastic atmosphere. We had the porterhouse and PEI blue dot steaks, which were very moist and grilled to medium rare. The hamachi appy was also very good. We were celebrating a birthday and the server treated us with yummy desserts too!
Great food, great service and a great place to sit!
Jake the bartender was extremely knowledgeable and guided us around the cocktail menu perfectly. He was able to guide us to cocktails that suited our palette for the night perfectly!
Excellent service, impeccable culinary experience from start to finish!
Exceptional high end restaurant. Beautiful interior design - so special! Nice & comfy booths, amazing wine room and liquor display, very unique smoked mirrors on the wall with salt art (supposed to represent texture of glaciers and icebergs braking over water), love it. All over natural wooden elements. Soft lights were well positioned over the tables. Very romantic. The food was ohh so pleasing. For the eyes as well to taste. Incredible. The restaurant is more for beef but we shared branzino fish with grilled lemon. So good! Like their sourcing of meat. With all the protein you need to order side dish or two. Had broccolini with balsamic vinegar and potato pure. Very velvety and nice. Cream brulee with bergamot gel for dessert. And sparkling wine was on the house for our anniversary. Paid over $110, but I can see how you could spend a lot, lot more....(not in our budget) Went on Friday night at 7:30 pm. It was packed. The tables were quite close. Finished chatting with another couple next to us. (They recommended onion rings - the inner membrane of each ring is removed, so it breaks with each bite- must try!). Wish we would have more privacy. We could clearly hear their conversation... Very pleasant staff. Lovely evening overall.
best stakes in Vancity amazing atmosphere and service
