Great moody spot in Gastown - cute ambiance and nice happy hour. Loved the tots and the Caesar salad. Chip dip and mushroom burger were okay.

So the only reason they got 4 stars for service is because they forgot about us. But they really made it right. The service ended up being great, the food is excellent and absolutely amazing. Would definitely go back again.

A pretty old-school pub w/ good food and a variety of spirits to choose from.

The food is very bland for the price, I had their signature burger, which didn t have a lot of taste to it at all and was all wet and soggy. I also tried the Spaghetti and meatballs and they tasted as if the meatballs were frozen beforehand. Also, the music was insanely loud the whole evening, we had to shout at each other the whole night and all of us left the establishment with sore throats. They also include the tip whether you like it or not, which defeats the whole purpose of a tip in the first place! The service wasn t very worthy of a tip as well, probably because they know they will get tipped regardless of the level of service. The only positive thing about this place is their extensive alcohol menu, which to be fair was very impressive but unfortunately for the reasons mentioned above, I will be avoiding this place

I came in here for a small bite and drink before dinner. I sat at the bar and loved the layout. It feels rustic but modern and has an amazing cocktail menu! I cant wait to go back!

The food always tastes good but the atmosphere is very dark and staff have routinely forgotten about us at our table and seems a little unfriendly. We still go because the food is good, though Vegetarian options: The crispy portobello mushroom burger is delicious! Ordered it thinking it was a regular burger with mushrooms but it is just a mushroom burger and I was pleasantly surprised as a non-vegetarian

Cool place in Gastown. We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon, almost nobody there. Just wanted drinks but they declined to let us 4 sit at the spacious bar. Odd. Great vibe and decent food.

Not my first visit and not my last, Scotch Egg and Pourhouse burger cooked to temp the first time...AMAZING!! Am a big smash burger guy and went back, double upped on my Scotch Eggs and went with the Double Cheese, just delicious, my fave lunch spot when cruising through downtown Van. Great service, amazing food!

Stumbled across The Pourhouse while out looking for somewhere to grab some food, felt like it had good vibes so took a chance and so glad I did! Gastown Double easily one of the best burgers Ive had, a double smash burger with a mountain of well seasoned fries. Great atmosphere, good tunes and cool architecture. If Im in Vancouver again will definitely be back

If you are curious about scotch eggs , you will get the best ones outside Scotland here. Great cocktails too. Love this place

Cool atmosphere! Happy Hour is a great deal. We had a good-quality burger with fries for 15 bucks. We all found the server to be somewhat aloof. While he was not outright rude, it was clear hed rather be elsewhere.

I tried their Gastown doubledown and lobster cake, meatball and beer on tap. Their beer was a relatively decent price for what they provided but found the food to be about average for going out to a pub like food. The prices In my opinion need some help for what they offer to encourage people to try more of their menu , but the service was lovely and the atmosphere is definitely unique with the steam clock right near by.

Our go-to place to grab a cocktail and Scotch Egg while in Gastown Try the Scotch egg! Best I have had (and I keep looking. Nowhere has beat it yet!) I also highly recommend their Smash Buger! Yum!

Vibe is immaculate albeit a bit pricey

Hello, I ve always had great experiences at this restaurant, and the food is always amazing. Unfortunately, that wasn t the case the last time I visited with my team. On August 7th, we(party of 6) arrived at 12pm, and there were only two other tables there when we got there. After we ordered, our appetizers came out in about 10 minutes, but then another 40 minutes passed with no check-in from the waitress- not even a glance our way. We noticed that customers who ordered after us had already received their food and were eating. We waited a few more minutes, and I kept trying to make eye contact with her, but she wasn t looking at our table once. Most of the time she was next to the kitchen facing the wall doing something. Finally, one of us got up and asked her about our main courses. She said she was waiting for us to finish our appetizers first, which was strange because we never asked for that, and she hadn t checked on us at all. It was frustrating, but we waited another 15 minutes, and still, no food. By this time, it was past 1pm, and some of us had a work meeting at 1:30. We ended up asking her to just pack our food to go, so after over an hour and 15 minutes of waiting, we took our main courses as takeout. When one of us half-jokingly said that the food should be free because of the delay, she got defensive and said it was a miscommunication. Even though she said sorry, It felt like she was putting the blame on us, which was ironic since we didn t ask for that and she hadn t checked on us even once, despite only having three tables to manage. I ve always had good experiences at this restaurant, and I was the one who suggested it for lunch that day, so this was really frustrating and embarrassing. I hope it doesn t happen to other customers.

If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. The food was terrible; the fish and lettuce were both rotten. The worst part, however, was the customer service. The British guy was the most impolite waiter I have ever encountered. Avoid this place at all costs!

Pourhouse is just one of these jovial places where you are treated like family the moment you walk in. Guests smile at each other and there is an overall friendly vibe that is noticeable. The food is excellent / we paired a pale ale with two orders of their special Pourhouse burger. If you like rare meat, try it, as the juices are still part of the meat. Excellent attentive service and glad to see them doing well.

3 of us came for dinner. All started with a cocktail, cocktails were nice. Wanted a bottle of wine to go with our steak dinner and struggled to find a nice red that wasn t well over our budget. All and all it was OK, but at the price we paid there are better restaurants for dinner in Vancouver. I would come back, but only for cocktails at the bar.

We decided to sit at the bar and it was the best decision! Jordan was our bartender who gave us great recommendations and we learned about whiskey during happy hour! Drinks are delicious and service is great. The atmosphere is classy and welcoming.

Great little place... the skill of the bartender was next level.

We went for a nice dinner last weekend, the place is nice and cozy, the music is well-curated , the prices are high but nothing crazy. The service was good with the girl till we received our mains (Pourhouse burger) and I found mine really pink in the middle so I got the attention of the server who tried to explain to me about the way they cook it, she called her manager to deal with my complaint and here came the bad experience. He was unnecessarily rude and lacked empathy, we could notice his discomfort and his unprofessionalism when abording a complaint and displeasure from a client. 0 customer service. I recommend going to this place just dont complain, eat and drink everything you order even if you dont like this to avoid conflict. If it wasn t for the manager I would have spent a really nice evening, but that s the reason for 2 stars.

Really like the rustic atmosphere. The food and service was great too. I came mid day and it was very quiet which I prefer.

After frequenting this establishment over the last year I will not be coming in for service ever again. It really has came across as the more times I came in and brought business into the establishment the service got worse. The final tipping point was Sunday June 26th right at happy hour; I left completely unimpressed and manager was watching! Took 7 mins get a water and a menu and when finally provided the menu the attendant stated I am ready they had max 3 tables and walked by me 3 times. Shortly after my order arrives two very nice young men are sat beside me and have questions towards the menu. The young men feel more comfortable asking me questions about the menu rather than the server, I truly do my best to help them as English is their 2nd language and genuinely want to help. I pay attention while they re ordering and confirm with them as they ordered mushroom burgers if they intended to have a BURGER with MUSHROOMS on it or a BURGER where the patty is a MUSHROOM? They stated they wanted a BURGER with MUSHROOMS on it I advised the just ordered a burger where the patty is a mushroom and they both went into panic I called the attendant over and confirmed their order for them .. the attendants reply the mushroom would have tasted good anyways . At this point I am absolutely at my limit as a client and person and respectfully as for my bill so I can leave. This whole interaction was observed my management/supervisor named Adam who is as working at the bar and conversation could be heard very well. Adam was more concerned with seeing a very specific co-worker show up on Sunday for work as that co-workers arrival would signal Adams weekend, I hope you enjoyed the beers at the beach with my tips ;) June 13 I decided to give this place an another try, lots of turnover at this place and the toxicity of this place must be following from the top down. The bartender that evening was super condescending and should be aware of his audience. I guess this is all you can attract with the high turnover rate

I had the ratatouille. $25 for zucchini in tomato sauce is laughable. I would expect it to come with bread or at least cheese for that price? Nothing special about the dish either. My husband had the burger which was $30 and dry. You get better quality, prices and service at your local restaurant chain like cactus or earls. Really loud music too. Really disappointing experience especially since it was my husbands birthday.

Yesterday was the third time my partner and I spent our anniversary at pourhouse. It s one of our favourite restaurants, and we ve even brought our families before! The experience, ambiance, menu, food is all around amazing. Everything is so well thought out, and detail oriented. We usually ordered a pourhouse burger, a Gastown double (no longer on menu) and order of truffle tots to share. The Gastown double was my boyfriends favourite burger , but it s no longer on the menu. The smash burgers on the happy hour is very similar (if not the same). Today was the first time we tried the scotch egg, and every bite was so delicious. Savoury but not over bearing. For must try s I recommend: the pourhouse burger, smash burgers on happy hour, truffle tots, scotch egg, and Caesar salad.

Hayley isnt just a bartender; shes a magician behind the bar. With her killer energy and killer cocktails, she turns every drink into a work of art. Seriously, one sip and youll be hooked. And the food? Its like a party in your mouth. Those pork bites? Pure heaven. And the fried chicken? Crispy, juicy perfection. Were kicking ourselves for not finding this place sooner, but now that we have, you can bet well be regulars. So, if youre looking for a spot with serious swagger and even more serious flavor, look no further than Pourhouse in Gastown. Trust us, you wont be disappointed.

Happy hour menu is pretty good. The rotating pilsner selection is also very good. The burger was the only underwhelming selection here.

2nd stop of the evening for us in Gastown Vancouver. 1st was Clough club where I mentioned in a previous review, had fantastic happy hour pricing and recommended you start your night there if your are planning on hops. Pourhouse was nice, more upscale but not too posh.

Excellent salad and burger. Great service. My only issue is the outrageous prices. Easily the most expensive burger I have ever tasted. Be prepared. If money is not an issue for you, I definitely recommend this place. You get what you pay for...I guess. Still seems a little over the top for me. But I will say this is the best burger I have tasted in Vancouver.

Went for happy hour and loved all of it. The food specially the smash burger was fantastic. Also really enjoyed the old fashions they offered.

I feel very disappointed in how Luke treated me as a customer. After I expressed how I felt about the overwhelming amount of ice in my mocktail, Luke was disrespectful, dismissive, and defensive. There was 0 ounce of empathy coming from his end and the only solution he offered was another one of the same drink. On the other hand, Craig handled the situation very well. He is an excellent server and dealt with the situation professionally and respectfully. Give that man a raise!

Not cheap but what is these days. Tried a few things friends . Chicken strips , smash burger with fries and charcuterie. Overall OK except the chicken which was over battered and dry. Might give it a second look in the future.

Great place we got seated quickly and our server was great. The prawns with focaccia were great however the Pourhouse Burger needs a little bit of acidity and freshness as the meatiness and fat are overpowering. The music was a tad loud so I would suggest lowering it for guests to have an easier time conversing. Overall a good experience.

I liked the atmosphere and the decorations. Very nice and cozy. Long and interesting selection of cocktails. The food wasnt the best! I ordered the burger, and I wasnt impressed. The lobster mac and cheese was tasty but so heavy. I think it had too much cream, I couldnt even finish it. Overall, it was a good experience, but I wasnt a fan of the food!

This place is absolutely incredible. First of all the scotch egg was delicious (my first time trying one.) and then I was utterly delighted ordering the burger and being asked how iw anted it cooked. It is absolutely ridiculous you are not order your burgers medium rare in most places in Canada but this place is allowed to (I believe because they manage in Thier own beef) The burger quality showed. Cooked a perfect medium rare and absolutely delicious. Great vibes here. Great service. A wonderful gem.

Located just east of the steam clock in Gastown, Pourhouse was one the first establishments to kick off the craft cocktail bar scene in Vancouver. The 100-year-old building was built in 1910 and the centerpiece of the bar is the 38-foot counter handcrafted from 120 year-old planks of reclaimed Douglas fir. At Pourhouse, expect well made classics such as the Old Fashioned along with a convivial atmosphere up at the bar, a breath of fresh air for the normally cliquey Vancouver clientele.

Very cool destination with lots of history & atmosphere. The food was above average, decently priced. The burger was impeccable although not unique. The big disappointment was the service. Our server was completely disinterested, couldn t be bothered to show any enthusiasm, ask if we d been there before, didn t follow up after the food arrived. The mediocre service was a dealbreaker for me, would not return.

Los Angeles Drink $16 Smooth and Delicious Service

A perfect place to relax after work. Id recommend it as a great bar rather than a restaurant. The food was tasty too, but Lobster Mac that turned out to be macaroni with a couple of tiny lobster pieces a bit disappointed. Other than that, everything was wonderful: location, atmosphere, live music, service, and drinks!

I had an amazing time with my husband here. There are so many cocktail options, I will have to come back many times to try them all!

We went pretty late at night after a concert, so we were just really hungry for good food. Our server was Luke/the manager, he was so lovely. And omg the food, we had the smashroom and smash burger, truffle tots, mac&cheese on the side. All of it was really delicious and hit the right spots. Might be our comfort place. I don t drink but I could see they have good collection. Recommend 10/10

Burger looks super simple and small but the taste was amazing and filling.

Visited Pour House in Gastown recently and had a mixed experience. The ambiance of the place is its strongest suit cozy and inviting, making it a comfortable spot to unwind. However, the food didn t quite live up to the hype. While not bad, it was pretty average, especially considering the price point. The drink selection was also a bit limited and on the pricier side. If you re going for the vibe and not as much for culinary delights, it s worth a visit.

Worth Trying. A classic pub with decent fare and a solid happy hour menu. The rotating 6th was a strong 9.5% which paired well with the juicy smash burger. I feel for a smash burger though, it wasnt smashed enough (not enough crispy crust). Id pay the extras$5 and add an extra patty next time. Takes AMEX.

This place has a fabulously cozy atmosphere. Almost every seat in the house is a great one, in part because of the beautifully upholstered furniture encasing the room. Although their menu is extensive enough for a meal, I think of Pourhouse as a bar mainly because the bar itself is so prominent in the space. Kind, attentive and knowledgeable service. Five stars. The food was such a a pleasant surprise. Everything is very creative. The Korean fusion worked nicely. Beef tartar was refreshing. We were joking about ordering fried chicken and mac and cheese at a restaurant, but this place left us speechless when the food came out. Well done

In town visiting, this place was recommended by an acquaintance. Great example of a restaurant/bar that is well run, well staffed, and delivers on its promises. Didnt have a reservation but they thankfully had 2 seats at the bar. Had a Coin Flip and White Negroni while we looked over the menu. Both were very well made. Ordered Scotch Egg, Duck Cassoulet, and the house burger. Ordered wine and a Penicillin for dinner. The Scotch Egg might be as good as a scotch egg can be - egg cooked perfectly, meat flavorful, just a bit of fennel, and a perfect crust. The burger is probably the most flavorful burger we have ever had - and 2nd place might be distant. Fries were crispy, definitely blanched or otherwise twice cooked for proper texture. I loved the duck - it may have spent juuuust a little too long in the pan but it was flavorful and juicy, and the white beans with fresh herbs and coconut milk brought the whole thing together. Finished the meal with more wine and a Los Angeles Cocktail, which was an excellent closer. The bartender was also our waiter and was extremely helpful while also building very good drinks with very good ingredients. Tip your waitstaff well and buy the kitchen a drink while youre at it.

Great spot in Gastown to stop in for a burger and a beer. This place has a shwanky feel to it. They also cook the burgers to your preferred doneness (I chose medium and it was still a bit pink) so if that bothers you order it well done. I cannot say just HOW JUICY the burger is! Absolutely to die for!

Came here for a friends birthday, we were a rather large group, and had a lovely time. The lobster Mac n cheese was to die for! So good. I wish I was eating now. However I found the charcuterie board to be fine but not great given the price. Crème Brûlée was good, the earl grey aspect wasn t for me, but that s just personal preference.

I brought my family here, we ordered some burgers, tater tots, and beers. First, the waitress asked us to wait outside while preparing our table. The restaurant was not busy and they had available tables, not sure why we had to wait 15-20min outside. My grandpa asked sugar cuz he had hypoglycemia, but it took them ages to bring it. My dad also ordered a beer when the waitress took our order, it finally came after we finished the burgers. We reminded them many times but they said the bar was a bit behind, which was surprising because the restaurant was not busy at that time. Beers should be the first thing that we should get, he couldnt enjoy it.. We had a bad experience, not sure why everything was so slow when the place was not even busy (3pm-4pm). It must be a disaster when it busy. Also, the burgers were not really good and not special at all.

Truly inspired burgers, absolutely delicious. It seems likely that every single item on the menu is worth sampling and then returning to repeatedly, with a lot of care put into each one.

Great happy hour in gastown! Cocktails are solid here - I got the gimlet and my friend got the Tom Collins. Both taste great. For food, we shared the truffle tater tots and the fried chicken. The tots have a great crunch and the sauce is tasty. Fried chicken came out nice and hot. Love the honey butter. Wish there were a pickle for each piece of chicken but the pickled onions added a great element too. Lastly, we got a smash burger each and it was solid. Came a little cold though - but sauce and taste was there.

Amazing atmosphere and we had one of the best servers. He knew what drinks to suggest and everyone at the table was very happy with the service. Where it fell short was the food. It was pretty basic in regards to the burger options I felt like I got better value at bin 4 and also the food wasnt as tasty as bin 4. One of my friends compared their burger to Wendys. Sides were extra 10 dollars for onion rings. We didnt really try anything else on the menu but for me and another person after tip it was 150 for burgers and 3 drinks. Sadly I wont return as I wasnt impressed by that food and I feel you should be impressed with the food at that price aka close to 40 dollars a person just for burgers and sides.

As a person with celiac disease finding safe places to eat is key. This restaurant had very knowledgeable staff, dedicated fryer and did not charge extra for a gluten free bun. Huge menu of cocktails and other drinks, lunch/dinner menu could get pricey as sides priced extra, but brunch worked out pretty reasonable and with great sized portions Dietary restrictions: Celiac General Manager means this is taken seriously

order 10oz stake ,the stake was good and staff too,but 48 dollar for a plate of a stake. but we its shows grilled vegitables but we got 3 small peppper and 2cherry tomato so dissappointed .Not worth for the price

The reception is good. Youre lucky if you make it to the live jazz turn. It is an excellent place to go alone or as a couple. The drinks are prepared by professionals. The drinks are well served and according to what the menu indicates. It is an absolutely recommended place. I will be back.

Their late night (after 10pm) cocktail and food menu is very good. You can get a great burger for $9 and a fancy cocktail for $10!

We visited Pourhouse twice in a week during a vacation visit to Vancouver and loved it - first with our daughter and son-in-law then again on our own. Great atmosphere, great drinks (a specialty), great food and fantastic service. Our server Kess was amazing the best server we ve had in a long time! Kess was very friendly, attentive and REALLY knew minute details of various cocktails and drinks. Her hazy IPA recommendation was excellent. Thanks Kess!! We had a great time (both times) and for sure will be back in November when my organization hosts a large conference at the VCC!

Warning if u going for their happy hour: don t order their HH burgers. $10 for a very thin patty burger, taste just like a $3 fast food cheese burger. Scotch eggs are good, cocktails are nice. But keep in mind, no burgers.

We really loved our meal and the service at Pourhouse. There was so much on the menu that looked good that we found it nearly impossible to pick - but enjoyed the Fresh Greens salad, Pourhouse Burger (with truffle tots!), and Lobster Thermidor. Impressed by the variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non. Kess was both our hostess and waitress and I have never met a more friendly or kind person - I would go back just for her. Thanks for making it a great last meal in Vancouver!

Came here on a Tuesday night and had the best experience. We tried the beef tartare, oysters, and lobster thermidor and it was all divine. Best oysters I ve ever had!!! Our bartender was great too, made a mean martini. Definitely check this spot out if you want some ambience and delicious food and drinks!

It was a lovely night out spot. Our server Kess was very professional and attentive to us as well as friendly. Huge appreciation to her. The environment of the restaurant is so cozy and warm. I really liked the antique vibe. Even though we ordered quite a lot of food for 2, we finished everything since all of the dishes were sooo tasty! If I have to pick my favourite, it would be the scotch egg. But seriously everything was fantastic, therefore I gotta go back to try other dishes that I couldn t have tonight. My recent visit to Pourhouse restaurant in Gastown, Vancouver, was marred by a series of disappointments that overshadowed any potential highlights. The atmosphere started promisingly with an entertaining server adept at credit card roulette, adding a touch of excitement to the bill-splitting process. However, my enthusiasm quickly waned as I ordered their touted burger with pork belly. The hefty price tag couldnt justify the appalling taste of the pork belly, leaving an unpleasant and strange flavor lingering on my palate. Regrettably, the culinary letdown was exacerbated by the extensive wait time for our food to arrive, testing even the most patient diners at our table. As if that wasnt enough, the already subpar dining experience took an even worse turn due to an incessantly talkative and disruptive tall, athletic white man in the vicinity. His continuous chatter and lack of consideration for fellow diners further detracted from the already struggling ambiance. Despite the servers best efforts at entertainment and credit card roulette prowess, the overall experience at Pourhouse fell flat. The combination of the overpriced and unpalatable burger, coupled with the lengthy wait and the disruptive presence at the neighboring table, made it clear that there are far better dining options to explore in the vibrant neighborhood of Gastown.

Good Place

My wife and I were joined by a friend for one of the loveliest restaurant experiences we ve had in Vancouver. The setting for a live jazz trio was perfect and the Dave Say Trio were wonderful. The service and attention we received seemed almost beyond the call of duty. Our server was professional, efficient and delightful. The bartender made the perfect martinis. We enjoyed the food and the ambience which, when paired with the exceptional service, created a very special evening. We ll be back.

Such a wonderful looking place! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing for night out with the girls. The food is a must try. We tried the smash burger, which was very delicious. Make sure you leave room for the dessert and try out their cookies, fresh out of the oven.

I wanted to like this place, as it looked great and the service was great, if even a bit overenthusiastic. Ive seen in the reviews that the burgers are the thing to go for, but their signature burger did not really impress, as the cheese was really just in the way and did not add anything, felt like rubber in the burger. Tuna salad barely had any tuna, which was weird for a 30$ salad. Scotch egg was really good though. Overall a nice place to spend time in, but for these prices they should up their food game a bit.

Burger, fries, and salad tasted like McDonalds. Our server agreed, but it shouldnt have been a flex. Burgers were delicious the 1st time I came here 4 years ago, but lately have gone downhill. The meat has been very greasy on the last couple visits. Salad was soggy.

My sister and I came here after the Drake concert got cancelled last night. Our waiter did a fantastic job at lifting our spirits with his humour and excellent service. Thanks Michael! Also, the espresso martinis and burger we had were absolutely delicious. Super vibey, will definitely be back.

I feel so bad leaving a negative review. The servers were great and the ambience wasn t half bad. But we came because some website said they had one of the best burgers in Vancouver. THIS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO TRUE! I got their Pourhouse Burger for $23 and the meat had a weird, spongy texture. The bun didn t even seem fresh. A $12 burger from Fatburger is so much better.

Pourhouse saved my sister from her birthday blues. The whole establishment exudes nonchalant class, and our server Jordan went above and beyond to make our evening special in earnest. This was a weird one for me. A group of us went here new years eve for a nice dinner to ring out the new year. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and loads of drinks but our server was very disinterested in helping our table. It was just odd. Everyone ordered steaks and some sides to share. 3 of the 4 steaks were heaven but the fourth was clearly just a bad cut of meat. It was so tough my friend could barely cut it let alone chew it. It took so long to be able to track down our server to get it replaced and when we did explain the situation they visibly rolled their eyes at us and let out an exasperated sigh. When her meal was remade it was dropped in front of her in passing and the server just walked away without a word. We echoed a chorus of thank you d but nothing. It was odd. Second steak was cooked to the same perfection as the rest of ours so we were all happy. Don t even get me started on their martini. It s the most watered down martini I ve ever had in my life. It s served in a nick & Nora glass and intentionally watered down (by stirring it like crazy) to let the ice melt so it fits the glass. We tried it at the request of a friend who had recently tried it and when we mentioned how watery it was the above was the explanation we were given. It was terrible. Don t get it. Beyond those two hiccups it was a great evening and the food was bomb. Broccolini especially!

Came here for a late dinner and we absolutely loved it! Jordan was the best server we had on our Vancouver vacation, and went above and beyond. They should rename this the Pisspoorhouse. This was some of the worst food I ve had in years . The bruschetta looked like it was assembled by children attempting to cook for the first time . Thankfully you can t mess up fresh oysters . The service was great and the room was warm . Go for drinks , elsewhere For food.

Loved our meal at the Pourhouse while visiting Vancouver! I am celiac so it s very rare that I can enjoy a meal at a pub it s one thing I miss after my diagnosis. This location offered nearly everything on the menu gluten free - and it was fabulous gluten free! I enjoyed my meal so much - fantastic food at a reasonable price. The location is also fantastic - right in Gastown in an old restored building. Watching the bartenders making cocktails was very entertaining. We will be back on our next visit to Vancouver - I just wish you had a location in Toronto!! Highly recommend this restaurant- for everyone- but especially for celiacs like myself. We went there for dinner, and were party of 5. The food and drinks were amazing. Atmosphere was classy and very comfy. I felt cozy there but in a classy way. We had Truffle tots, Pourhouse and Gastown Double burgers!! All 3 so delicious. Food

Went here on my birthday last year. Totally forgot a review until I was looking it up again, but I loved it. It was so much fun and the beignets were freaking amazing!

I went in peak hours on a Friday and was lucky enough to get a seat for two at the bar. I was here to try the Pourhouse Burger. It didnt disappoint. We started with Pork bites. Ill give them a 4. Smaller size snack/appy with good sauce using what seems to be unwanted pieces of pork that would otherwise be thrown away. I like when restaurants dont just throw everything away. We had the Pourhouse Burger. For a burger, 5 stars. It had a delicious juicy patty and the confit pork belly complimented the flavours well. I was worried the pork would be overpowering, but all the ingredients worked in perfect harmony. I also like the use of a potato bun which was light and fluffy making the burger not too rich and heavy. We also had the Duck leg. 4 stars. Flavours were good and the stew was tasty and interesting. but it was quite a small dish being only one leg and a little stew. It felt more like an appy than a main, but the taste made up for it. Service was quite to the point, but I understand since it was a busy night and we were seated at the bar. I believe there was only one or two bartenders. Just need that extra touch of friendliness from the staff and this place maybe will be 5 stars upon a second visit.

Lets start off with the positive the bartender that was serving us was very friendly and made good recommendations of drinks and made an effort to ensure that we had a good experience at the location. We had a few appetizers and a few drinks. Both the appetizers and the drinks for good. The only part of the experience was that was not enjoyable was the experience at the host station. This place gets relatively busy so try to make reservations or arrive early if you have a larger group. There are three of us that went here for an evening drink and appetizer. We just wanted to sit at the bar. When we arrived there were about 6 seats available at the bar that was separated out between the two bartenders that were working. We asked the host if we could have a seat at the bar and she said unfortunately we can only see two people at the bar and not three (The hostess claimed that the bartenders are too busy and could not serve three people) which made absolutely no sense considering how many empty seats are available at the bar. As we were contemplating leaving one of the members in our group decided that we just go and sit individually next to one another at the bar which we were able to do. So it kind of made no sense rejecting customers saying that they cant sit together at the bar more than two people because the bartenders were too busy.

Great ambience and amazing drinks. We went for Happy Hour and unfortunately food was terrible. The burgers tasted like something you will get at a fast food place and the patty was cold. We also ordered the gougere which was burnt. Will go back for drinks but not for the food.

The food industry most of my life and was incredibly appreciative of his attention to detail. The food was immaculate, there was live music which really added to the beautiful atmosphere. When my partner and I come back to Vancouver, we will certainly come back. Thank you again J!! Dietary restrictions: Very attentive to our requests. Kid-friendliness: We saw a table placed at an appropriate table with two young ones, whom all seemed happy as well! Old heritage building, ambient lighting sets the mood. Try the scotch eggs. They will make you custom drinks, the bartenders are super talented.

This place was great! Awesome food. Inviting atmosphere. Top quality cocktails. Great staff. The bartenders were especially friendly and knowledgeable. Next time I am in the city this is 100% on the list for a repeat visit. If you re after top notch cocktails and a solid menu make this a stop. Tip: The happy hour menu is especially good and quite affordable. Get the scotch egg.

Best burger of my life

Fantastic drinks and food, a nice atmosphere although would have been a better experience if parking was more accessible. Highly recommend sitting at the bar and watching the bartender make the fancy drinks, it s an experience. Try the Old Fashioned and various appetizers on the menu!

My friend and I was in the area, and he brought me here. I have had always thought this place was extremely overrated because its Gastown and this place has been here for a while now and every time passing by it doesnt seem like a trendy spot. But surprise, it wasnt that bad!! I ordered myself a side car, because I love a fruity sensation in my drinks. And it was made perfectly because it made my nose tingle a little bit. On top of that, I havent had a proper cocktail for a LOOOONNNGGG time, especially during the pandemic. I did enjoy it a lot because I might have been a little bit ditzy after the first drink..... lol Anyways, the food was extremely typical bar food so I wasnt surprised there at all, but that buger we ordered was just thiccc and juicy. Yes, 3 Cs type of thiccc. And it was oozing with juices on the side to the point the toasted bun, yes toasted, was almost soaked. And to the point where the toasted bun was soaked, the juices was flowing........ Surprised that a typical, regular bar place has good food? Did not believe. Later that night we had their iconic key lime cheesecake. It was recommended by my friend, so I had to have it. The first bite with the keylime foam and the cheese cake made my eyes pop that night. I might have been a little inebriated that night, but still, the flavours of that gin keylime foam was just spectacular. We just missed happy hour that night, so I will be coming back during that time to check out their cocktails and their food and drinks.

The place to go for a quality cocktail. The specials are fun, but dont resist the temptation to put the bartender to the test with a classic.
