Canadian standards often come with a twist at this bistro in an hip, bustling space.
We ordered the trout and the salmon - they were perfect! Well cooked and the seasoning was like a mother’s hug. The attendant was so nice and kind, she was really attentive and when I asked for a wine recommendation, she offered me to taste both I was in doubt of. Her recommendation though was perfect and I took the rosé wine from BC. The ambiance and the music were really good. I totally recommend this place and would come again on my next visit to Vancouver!
We went for happy hour. Fries were really good! Food is not bad, but pricey.
The Flying Pig in Yaletown offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a menu that masterfully blends comfort food with a West Coast twist. Known for its generous portions and farm-to-table approach, the restaurant serves up delicious dishes like truffle mac and cheese, braised short ribs, and fresh seafood. The rustic-chic décor complements the laid-back vibe, making it a favorite spot for brunch, dinner, or casual drinks. With attentive service and a lively ambiance, The Flying Pig is a go-to destination in Yaletown for satisfying, hearty meals that leave you wanting more.
We had lunch in a rainy day. The food is a little bit salty. The waiter was not attentive. We had to wave so many times to get his attention. Overall atmosphere is okay.
Happy hour on a Monday though it’s not listed in their website. We had a decent experience overall. The food and drink selection was good for Happy Hour. And their staff were friendly. We tried two of the dishes and they were okay. The poutine was a bit too salty. And the meatballs were dry. Still a good option for happy hour in Yaletown.
Wish I could give six starts! Oh my god, I think I had one of the best steak ribeyes in my entire life over here today! It was so delicious, juicy, crisp on the outside, just cooked to perfection medium rare just the way I like it! The coconut prawns and virgin Cesar were so good too and service was prompt. Highly recommend this place 👌!
My husband and I dined here for the first time and for sure it won't be the last. The food is great and in huge portions. We definitely recommend the pulled pork sandwich and definitely the pork chop and 16oz ribeye. The staffs that were there are very nice as well.
We loved it here! Fantastic dog friendly patio with delicious food and kind service. Delicious food!
Great little place. Love their cheesy bread. You get surprising amount of food for how much is paid. Service was prompt and quick.
Let me start by saying that I work in costumer service myself and I hate to leave bad reviews for a business specially if its something subjective. However, in this case I feel like this establishment should not get away with this as it might reflect on the whole industry and other Yaletown restaurants. Last Friday, my buddy and I wanted to grab a couple of beers before going for dinner and since it was Taylor swift night, everywhere was packed and only this place had spots by the bar available. We sit down and wait for at least 10 mins, I get it its a busy night, so finally I get the bartenders eye and say hey how u doing? can we get a couple beers here ? He looks me dead in the eyes and says only if you say PLEASE; no indication of joking or anything. Im like excuse me! Weve been waiting for 10 mins and you dont even look our way even though youre not that busy and I am not 5 years old so please dont talk to me like that; He pours the beers and slams it in front of us in a way almost a quarter of beer spills out. I call the manager and explain calmly what happened and say this is unacceptable and he says sorry and hell go talk to him. He walks up to him, pats him on shoulder and says something and they both laugh. I feel pretty disrespected at this point and then the bartender comes and says rudely just let me know when you guys are done and wanna pay I call the manager again and say is there another bartender we can talk to because this guy is clearly very rude and has no costumer service manners. The manager says no this is all we have tonight. Then the bartender comes and again says dont think if Im standing there I dont hear that youre speaking s..t about me to which I reply you are very rude and I dont really wanna talk to you. Then he has the audacity to take both beers away from in front of us and says get out. What I have recounted here is verbatim and I challenge the restaurant manager to refute anything here I have said. Now I am a local in Yaletown and most restaurants know me by name and give me free drinks since I frequent them so much and am friends with most staff. Never have I had such an experience in a Yaletown joint and when I try to talk to the manager again on the way out and mentioned that when I havent said or done anything out of line you need to really discipline your staff, he tells me Sorry I take my staffs side under any circumstances any day of the week I get it, it was Taylor Swift weekend and if the manager said anything to this obviously unbalanced bartender and he left his post, the restaurant would be under a lot of strain but I believe there should be a line the restaurant staff should not cross and if they do there should be some accountability. I guess there is a reason that Earles, Cactus, dovetail etc. have line ups in front of them and flying pig is only 30-40% full on the busiest of nights. Its a shame because I actually like their patio in the summer but if this nonsense continues I am afraid they would join the long list of restaurants that went bankrupt and need to close; Unless the ownership did something about the management and staff
This place is really good, honestly the food was great and in happy hour makes it worth it to go there. Could be crowded at times but the atmosphere is really chill. Strongly recommend for after work.
AVOID going to this place at all costs! I have been to the Flying Pig in Yaletown many times for drinks or food and I have decided not to step my foot in that place, ever again after the horrible experience my brother in law and I had last week there. We went there and sat at the bar to have couple of drinks. We waited for 15 minutes and the bartender did not even look at us to ask us what we wanted. We told him weve been waiting for a while and when I asked him if there was happy hour at that time he said give me a second which he could have just said yes, but after a few minutes he brought us the happy hour menu. When we told him could we get couple of amber ale beers, he said only if you say please!! and he was NOT joking! At this point we asked for the restaurant manager and told him about what happened and while we are talking with the manger the bartender came with the two beers and slammed them on the counter in front of us!! The manager said hell talk to him, he is busy today etc (the bar and the restaurant were half empty). He goes to the side and talks to him and they laugh!! and manager comes back and says its all cool now after their talk! The bartender then said to us whenever you are ready to leave let me know!! We called the manager again so he would step in as the bartender was so rude you could not even talk to him. Now the manager said I dont know what happened between you guys here but I will take my bartenders side any time of the day!! The bartender poured the two beers down the drain and the manager said sorry but youll have to leave!!. Unbelievable! We have never experienced such a shockingly horrible service in Vancouver and we go to 2 or 3 restaurants every week mainly in Yaletown and never had any issues but this place is just a joke.
Everything was grey! Thank you. The only thing was that the level of music that was playing, in my opinion, a bit high, and I had a hard time communicating with my colleagues.
We stopped here for brunch and it was delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe and the service was wonderful! Perfectly poached eggs and delicious coffee. Highly recommend.
Overrated overpriced avoid this place
Amazing food and drinks. Eat here .
I ordered the wrong dish. The risotto with the trout wasn t great but the trout was great as was everything else.
Loved everything!
Great spot. Great happy hour.
The paella was dry, tasteless and very disappointing. Our server didnt seem to know much about the wine list.
If youre committed to eating overpriced food in Yaletown, youre better off going to Cactus Club across the street. Steaks were vulcanized rubber and youll get a tiny sad lop of vegetables next to all your potatoes. Speaking of veggies, try Meet next door if you want more of them. The short ribs at Tractor Foods are more tender than the ones here. Service was great; washrooms had no paper towels and no escape without touching dirty handles. Loud music and loud people everywhere. My respects to the hardworking employees here. o7
Their happy hour menu is worth it!
The place was pretty solid, and the drinks were good, but the food want the best, the veal piccata at least
One of the best restaurants for great food and vibes. Paolo, who s usually working the bar is always amazing and welcoming. My partner and I have lived in Vancouver for 10 years and have always loved the Flying Pig, especially for their delicious and well priced happy hour!
Great place! Highly recommend.
A yaletown classic!! Great comfort food, good drinks and service. Try the meatballs and onion rings appetizers. Soooo good.
A great place for happy hour and dinner
Great drinks, great food, great service! I encourage you to order The Platter.
A wonderful restaurant! The food was very good and the price was right, the employees were super attentive and regularly asked if everything was satisfactory. Friendly, refreshingly nice and accommodating! Im simply thrilled. It was a great evening. On the evening when I was a guest with friends, as soon as something was available, all the seats were filled again. Always feels well attended and a well-coordinated team. The only drawback is that the restaurant is very noisy. Otherwise pure recommendation!
We had dinner here twice and were very satisfied both times. The restaurant has a great ambience with the bar and wooden tables. The map isnt too big, but everyone should still find something. Our food was excellent and value for money was fine. The service was also very attentive and quick.
Great Smoked Salmon Benedict for brunch. The coffee wasnt the best but they were able to accommodate gluten-free options. Substitute bread for more potatoes but they cant guarantee cross contamination it seemed like so if you are severely celiac just consider that.
This is my number one spot to come and eat anytime I visit Vancouver. It s a shame the Gastown location burnt down, and the Olympic Village location had to close because they were both just as good/special as the Yaletown spot. The food is always good, the drinks are phenomenal, and the atmosphere/ambience is tough to beat. FYI, happy hour is from 3-6 and it may be one of the best in the city.
Good food and portions a bit quiet. It s a good place to go just nothing extraordinary Food : 4/5
We arrived early for our reservation but were seated promptly without issue. The service was good, it wasnt really busy on a Tuesday. The food was tasty.
Salmon dinner was everything I wanted. Cooked and seasoned well with risotto and broccolini . Julian, our server, was so efficient and friendly!
The food is delicious.
We picked this place for a casual business dinner and it delivered. The place has a great upper-casual aesthetic that felt both comfortable and professional. The food and drinks were both excellent and the service was very fast.
Im so picky and we actually loved all the food. It was during happy hour and I really liked their happy hour menu. We didnt really understand what was jumbo about the mac and cheese and the truffle fries were barely truffle fries. Not much of anything on them but the food was all good. Would definitely come back again for happy hour!
The food is amazing. The services is great. Our only complain is the music is to loud and it s kind of dark in the dining room.
Happy hour was great! Excellent selctions and capaccio and smash burger was delish. Allows dogs on patio!
Fantastic eatery. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Delicious place for dinner!! The best mussels in Vancouver!
Great Happy Hour! Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Wonderful bison carpaccio and creme brule. Tried the bone marrow and loved it!
The food was great!
Wow $28 for this tiny crappy salad
Suggestion of the evening taken. Meat, salmon and a pasta with bacon. Highly recommended. Great in terms of tableware. Highly recommended
My husband and I were in Vancouver for a few days after an Alaska cruise and stopped for supper one evening. I couldnt pass it up since I love the image of flying pigs, and we very much enjoyed our experience! The staff were so friendly and our server was so knowledgeable about the area. Our meals were delicious and more than adequate, considering our intense hunger after a long day of sight seeing. Our only regret was that we couldnt come back, since we were returning to Iowa the following day. Dont hesitate, just go.
Great food and service
Inside is super loud for me. We sat outside and it was very nice. Waiters were awesome. Great service.
Had a great time. They accommodated out large group no problem. Service was great and food was delicious. A great place to go for food and drinks.
Sadly horrible food. I was really looking forward to eating there because the place and the branding are great, but I ordered a paella that had at least 1/2 peas and maybe less than 3 pieces of chorizo. The rice was mushy and had no special flavor. Its very annoying to pay that amount of money when you dont have a good meal.
The Flying Pig feels like someone came up with a fun name and then just decided to open a restaurant for it. It has nice branding and decor inside as well as a pleasing to the eye website - though one can t help but think square-space templates came in handy there. Yet the that s where they seemed to stop caring and forgot about the actual food. We started with the Bone Marrow appetiser with cheesy bread. The cheese completely overpowers the flavour of the marrow, also is a less than ideal surface to spread the marrow on as it just slides off. I ordered the mussels as a main which honestly looked like a game of Jenga.. A giant pile of frites balancing precariously over a handful of mussels. I took one mussel out to eat and it all come tumbling down onto the table. The flavour was very bland and 3 of the mussels hadn t even opened from cooking. It seems as though the Flying Pig can t decide whether it wants to be a cocktail bar or restaurant and instead decides to both in a mediocre way. I should say that the staff were very friendly. This is mostly disappointment based around the food.
Great place to eat, O loce the vegetarian pappardelle and the kids menu is very good, my kids love it. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu delicious and great price
It had a great atmosphere, and even though it was late, families with children were having fun eating there. Also, the way the bartender handles the shaker is so cool that I admire it. The customer service at the table was good, and even though our family only drank water, they were polite and did not make unpleasant faces. The poutine, mussels, cod soti, onion rings, and Caesar salad were all delicious. It was a restaurant where you could easily eat Canadian food.
Had a great experience dining at the Flying Pig when visiting Vancouver. Food and venue were great and Leah provided excellent and very friendly service which made the experience all the more memorable.
Food was very good and reasonably priced service was excellent
Good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service
Excellent stop on our trip! Our waitress Shay was wonderful and so was the atmosphere. I had the mushroom pappadarelle. The paella was great. My favorite, which I d consider a must, was the truffle Mac n cheese! The ribeye was excellent and cooked to order.
The food was amazing, I got the truffle Mac and cheese and probably one of the best Mac and cheeses I ve ever had! Service was good, very kind. And the atmosphere was pretty. Also the sides are more like meals in your not really hungry. Vegetarian options: The Mac and cheese is definitely a good vegetarian option. Kid-friendliness: Pretty good kids menu.
It was very good. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. It was a really cool atmosphere as well.
Excellent location with surprisingly good parking. Strong wine selection and excellent bar fare. A great location for friends or business meetings.
Great cozy ambiance with various food and cocktail options:) and perfect location.
Open breakfast sandwich was stacked - add the grilled mushrooms, they are delightfully huge. Server Ash was lovely to deal with.
good food and good drink in a trendy neighborhood.
Very nice staff and great Caesars!
Great food, good prices; not the best Caesar.
Yeah. No. Dont. Ill tell you why.... This place reminded me of the TITANIC. The aftermath. You know...12,000 feet of wreckage under water of what used to be utter splendour. Lively expert staff, warm cozy elegant vibe with candle lit tables setting the stage for an experience you didnt want to leave, and of course accompanied by an uncompromising Bar doing magic with cocktails they were so well known for. The Flying Pig Yaletown was the place to be for dinner, and on the weekends...well good luck getting in. Either you were in a lineup or had reservations weeks ahead. Wellll.....we walked in and the place was eerily empty with a hostess, who I think just turned 18 and wanted to be anywhere but there. With all the empty seats, we were sat between the kitchen and the bathroom area. Not smart. I ordered a specialty cocktail which they got wrong. I sent it back and they had to google how to make it. Yeah....really. Even the second attempt they got wrong. So, I just went with a good old margarita which was mostly ice. Not sure though if the salt on the rim and the pretty little orange was worth 15 bucks. Moving on..... The short rib was ok, but stingy portions. If the bone marrow has no marrow. Maybe not serve it? Or else itll just come across as a large bone being served....kinda like the one my dog chews on after his walk. Stunning. Exciting. Alluring The Flying Pig was years ago. Now, we must simply walk by the desperate remnants of what used to be on Hamilton Street.
Visiting from Ottawa.. wanted to try the bone marrow was very good! We did the special for 2 Steak, Cod, Mac and cheese! Delicious!!!!! Food
Our experience was exceptional. Dylan was so attentive and helpful in his service and the manager was clearly helping a happy team. All our apps, entrees, and sides were great. A go to if youre in Vancouver!
Excellent food, great service.
Salad is awesome. Overall taste is excellent
The beet & arugula salad plus the roasted chicken substitute with fries was more than enough to share (we came hungry but somehow left with leftovers). Will be back again Dietary restrictions: Dairy free
Although it is classified as a Canadian restaurant, The atmosphere was similar to a sports bar. Approximately ¥9,000 as shown in the photo Delicious I realized the importance of researching the menu
Ordered the fish and chips, the fish portion was small and unfilling and the batter was so heavy/deep to the point of being mushy inside. The service is exquisite, super nice helpful and accomodating.
Excellent service, excellent food, reasonable prices, and a great atmosphere. 5 stars
The server was great but the wait time was long and the seafood mains (salmon and paella) were such small portions for the price
I really liked there. I ate absolutely delicious soup and lemon cake! But wouldn t recommend a poutine there. Price rate is surprisingly low and atmosphere is comfortable
Ashleigh has one of the best and most vibrant energies in a server I have ever seen. He made a very special first date extremely memorable for me. His humour and effervescent energy goes a long way at building memories and meals alike. Bravo!
Visited for a few drinks, excellent full of atmosphere.... Didnt eat but the steaks being served on other tables looked scrumptious
Came all the way down here for lunch from Richmond as I have before. Brought my daughter for a special lunch. Online you open at 11:30am. Get here to see youre closed until 3pm. As a business - how hard is it to update your hours on Google?
The experience in general was awesome, the staff are great at their job, the quality of the food it s another level. I ordered the lobster s risotto and the smash burger everything was in order. The atmosphere was amazing, so friendly and welcoming, if you are around the place make sure to visit the flying pig
Came today for dinner with my boyfriend. We were accompanied by Ash who was an amazing waiter and made our experience that much better! Ordered the pork chop and lobster risotto. Will be back for sure :)
Meatballs and Brussel sprouts are amazing, good beer selection, and the staff took great care of us! Thanks Mark!!
Absolutely stunning crew please continue
Not bad, the food was good, the burger was good although portion was small, wife s lobster risotto was great but the portion was also too small for the price, however they were super busy on a Good Friday but they still found us a table even though we had no reservation. So overall good and we will come back again for sure!
Terrific food! Plenty of options as well as decent happy hour prices. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
super service
Only ordered some desserts and drinks; and they were all incredible. Lovely staff and environment. Would highly recommend to anyone.
I recently tried this place and was really impressed by the food. Each meal I had was wonderful and tastefully presented. The atmosphere and services are quite wonderful. I definitely suggest this.
Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Good food and drinks! Good service too!
Came here for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised with a great happy hour menu. I got the mussels frites and I really enjoyed it. Fresh seafood and good service. The burger my husband got was also delicious and a good size.
Awesome food and great service. Seafood was very fresh. Loved the mussels. Wife ordered the half chicken and it was very good and juicy. Everything we ordered was excellent. The only thing it bothered me a bit is that the music was a bit too loud. Other than that, we all had a great time and enjoyed the food.
Great place to celebrate!! We had great service at the Yaletown location. The food is divine. I would say the Pulled Pork Poutine is a definite must and they have the best Onion Rings!! The Margarita was oo lala. They make it good!! Food
Yum. Wonderful service, excellent location. The bone marrow cheesy bread is the stuff of dreams.
My sisters and I went there for dinner and the atmosphere was just the right amount of busy to make it a fun experience. The food was amazing, we ordered a variety of dishes and we were not disappointed, however the server left a bit to be desired, if it were not that we were having such a wonderful meal he could have ruined our entire experience, this was just ONE server, we observed others and they were beyond reproach, it was unfortunate we didn t luck out with better service, regardless we will be coming back!
Best place in Yaletown
Brought my mom down for dinner. The server was amazing and David the manager went out of his way to make us feel comfortable as I have recently had a hip replacement surgery. Food was also delicious and I will return.
Service, atmosphere, and food meets and exceeds expectations. A no regret stop for anyone in Yaletown.
Excellent food and great atmosphere!
3/16/2024 I enjoyed my steak and wine and desserts. Our server was friendly and helpful, and everyone we interacted with was nice. Its clean and I would say upscale. I would go back if I had more time in town
-My potato hash had 4 little potato pieces -Wifes burger with no mayo had extra mayo -My Irish coffee was undrinkable how strong it was -Pulled pork was extremely watery -Waiter was very awkward and watched me choose the tip TLDR: Worst $70 Ive ever spent
Great Servers and Patio. Truffle Fries/Mac&Cheese were really good!
The short rib is kind of dry
Outstanding food and service. Highly recommended!
I loved the place, the dishes and the service!
Vibrant and lively! Had a great time with friends old and new!
Great Food Service and Atmosphere.
Got the 14oz porkchop from their steak Sunday menu. Pork was cooked perfectly and the sides felt like a perfect portion, great value for $35. Our server Dylan was on top of everything the whole night, I dont think my water glass was below half the whole time. Definitely going to be making this a regular spot
Very good service and delicious food
Wonderful expereince, will return for sure.
The pork rib and paella were both great and we ate them all; the store clerk Ashley was very welcoming. The overall experience is very comfortable, recommended for family or friends to gather together for dinner
Had a great experience in the past. However, when I called today, I was told that the kitchen is open till 10:30 pm (Wed. Feb 14), but when I went there (at 10:25 pm), I was rudely told theyre closing. Albeit, even on asking for clarification, I wasnt given a clear yes or no if I can order or not. 5* for first visit, and 1* or second visit.
In the evening, I made an appointment with a friend to go to a disco. I found a nearby restaurant in Yaletown to fill my stomach and add predrink. It was convenient to walk there. After looking around, I decided that it was Flying Pig! We ordered mushroom pasta, pork cheese poutine and mussels, all delicious! The only thing I didnt understand was the bone marrow cheezy bread. It felt like the beef marrow had no presence at all. The harvest sangria I ordered for cocktail is sour, sweet and very fresh. You can try it. The restaurant environment is very good. It is very suitable for drinking and chatting with sisters. It is quite emotional. Highly recommended!
Food was ok. Service was excellent. Only critique was that they didnt point out the special that I would have loved to have tried.
Deep dish pizza was by far the worst thing I ve had, but other items were good.
Had my Christmas brunch party for my business and the whole team was amazing! Thanks for doing. A good job accommodating 20+ ppl!!!
Yummy food, the prawn and lobster risotto was perfectly prepared, and the flank steak appy was on point. Overall, the food preparation is always well executed. Service staff are knowledgeable. My waiter was very attentive and did a great job. But slightly rush at the end of my experience. Will still go back how ever.
Wonderful server. Disappointing meal. Our table had a NY Strip, medium rare which was tough, flavourless with lumpy potatoes and carrots that must have been frozen as they were watery and rubbery. Short rib was dry, lumpy potatoes again and plated without enough room to deal with the large bone with marrow that was sitting on top of everything. Was I expected to use the table to put this bone on? The Lobster and prawn risotto was very wet and absolutely plain tasting. I removed the rubbery, tasteless piece of lobster from my mouth. The other little eats we had were just as disappointing. The server was lovely but the kitchen should be ashamed. We expected so much better from The Flying Pig.
The flying pig has an easy going vibe that s great for most occasions - date night, birthdays, catchup with friends, etc. I went there for brunch and their smoked salmon egg benny was delicious - thought the focaccia bread was a nice touch instead of the standard english muffin. It also comes with a side of crispy potatoes, which had that satisfying crunch and a basic salad. It s a good portion for the price ($18.50), so I d recommend this dish. We also got the red wine braised beef short rib (dinner menu), a side of crispy Brussels sprouts along with the lobster & prawn risotto. The braised short rib comes with bone marrow and mash potatoes with cheese on top. It s quite a rich and heavy dish. You definitely need to love meat and I ll say the crispy cheese on the mash potatoes was a nice touch. I felt it was okay, but wouldn t pay $34.50. I feel most people like crispy Brussels sprouts and this side dish was no exception - balance of saltiness from capers offset by the lemon creates a great combo and you feel a bit healthy because it s veggies. My only thing about this dish was that it s a bit oily, but again, what do you expect. It s definitely a good side if you re having meat heavy dishes. Lastly, the Lobster & Prawn Risotto. I liked how they had chunks of seafood in it, but I felt like it could ve had more flavour to it. Risotto isn t my favourite dish either, but my friend was a big fan. Overall, this place is great for brunch and happy hour. Food was overall good and no real complaints. I don t know if I d come here for a special occasion, but it s definitely a good casual place to chat, with a cozy vibe and comforting food.
One of the best bar in Yaletown! This bar is so convince to find a table even on the weekends. So warm and friendly crew there. I ve been multiple times with different friends; always we left there so happy! I highly recommend to try the platter of different cheeses, porschiutto, olives and bread. You would love it with your drink.
Good vibe, good food!
Went in for some drinks and several simple appetizers. It was a good experience.
Really underwhelming happy hour. Portions were small, and the taste wasn t too great either. Oh well!
Incredible food and awesome service!!! Would definitely come again!
We visited Vancouver recently and found this place. It is located in a very nice area and the atmosphere is great. Food was excellent. We got the poutine, meatballs, the braised beef and the pork Milanese. We highly recommend all 4 dishes. Super yummy! The waiter was awesome and he took really good care of our dietary restrictions. Highly recommend this place. Dietary restrictions: We had a really good experience regarding allergies.
The food was good, not great - and having to wait more than 45 minutes for main courses to arrive, and 20 minutes for a slice of cake and a bevvy refill is just ridiculous. The restaurant is super loud, it was next to impossible to have a conversation. My advice - go take your money elsewhere, lots of much better restaurants around Yaletown :)
Nice spot in Yaletown, service was great, the entrees we had were great but the mains werent at the same level, Vibe was nice, bit loud as youd expect but a decent meal out.
I went in for a team lunch and had a good experience. There were a lot of us but the staff was very kind on a busy day. The food was a bit pricy but its about what I expected from a restaurant around the area. I tried their beef carpaccio, calamari, and bone marrow toast to share with couple teammates. The bread on the bone marrow toast left something to be desired, but everything else was lovely. I would definitely come back in the future.
Well prepared, delicious and nice presentation Wheelchair accessibility: Street access, no stairs Food : 5/5 |
Very delicious and good service thank you
A good place to drink, but the location is a bit tight.
Great spot for my first night in Vancouver. Awesome location friendly staff and good selection.
extremely noisy and food was pretty meh - table beside us returned most of their salmon saying it was unbelievably tasteless; regretfully we had already ordered it by then, but can absolutely see why they said that to put it mildly, service was absolutely in the gutter - we werent informed that our chicken would take 30min and that everything would be served together (no option to even get anything first, not even soup), and we waited 45min for our food, which was overall of a quality i wouldnt wait 15min for, much less 45 the only time service was attentive was when waiting for us to pay, and sadly since im asian i had thin enough skin to give a tip that wasnt as low as i wanted to for the price and wait? go elsewhere - if i wanted to waste money waiting that long, id throw it away and sit at a bench
The place to have Friday night cocktails and dinner.
Everything was so yummy! Definitely I ll come back for the bone again :) It s now my fav restaurant Yaaaaay Food : 5/5
So glad we found this place. Inside and outside dinning. Great atmosphere with good music in the background. Our waiter was amazing. He spent plenty of time with our group explaining the menu and the area. He took orders of our group of 5 by memory. We ordered for 5 and got Togo orders for two more and all of us loved our meal
The restaurant was busy for a weekday so Id recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Sat inside and it was pretty loud. Tough to hear conversations going on at your own table. Ordered the salmon and cod, both were overdone. Creme brulee was tasty.
The bartender was really friendly even though they were fairly busy. The food and drinks came out quick. We ordered the Bison Carpaccio, Salmon Cakes, and Mussels with Frites. The drinks were nice too! Reasonable Happy Hour prices too.
Nice vibe to the place. Steaks were a great choice with the New York cut. Caesar salad for a start was okay but lacking pork belly chucks, I counted 3! Maybe just use bacon and leave the pork belly out? Service was good considering she was in training with the trainer watching her every move. She did well knowing the specials and what to recommend. A place to return to next visit in Vancouver.
My recent visit to this restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. The receptionist s rudeness set the tone for the evening. When we arrived, we expected to be seated at the time we were told by the receptionist, but instead, we were left waiting for over 45 minutes. The lady at the reception even had the audacity to offensively say we should dine elsewhere if we were hungry. This level of disrespect is inexcusable. I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your time and money and dine elsewhere where you ll be treated with respect and courtesy.
First place we ate in Vancouver, and was such a good experience. Food all delicious, we shared four of the small dishes and they were all good. Lemon tart and maple tart were an amazing way to finish. Service so prompt and attentive.
The impolite and unfriendly staff and hostess left a negative impression that overshadowed any other positive aspects of the visit.
Cool spot for dinner. Service was excellent
Friends and I recently met for dinner at The Flying Pig. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated at a nice window table. We were quickly approached by our server and she was delightful. The menu choices are broad and I d describe the majority of choices as comfort food. We shared an appetizer, each had an entree and shared a dessert. The food is good and the serving size is generous. It s definitely worth a visit.
The worst fries I ve ever had! I just could eat a few! And also my friend gave 2 cents by mistake to the server and the server literally got mad! Tips are not mandatory ! All of us should know
What a breakfast .
We really enjoyed ourselves. Great menu and the atmosphere was buzzing. Due to it being so busy the service was a wee bit slow but nothing that a bit more conversation didnt handle.
I had the chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes and it was so incredibly bland....
The best steak Ive ever had! Try the New York steak, you wont regret!
Very cozy space! We came for happy hour before cirque. Three from our table ordered the special platters which came with steak, veggies, Risotto, ahi tuna, and caesar salad and it was delicious! As you can see I didn t even get a chance to take a picture cause we dug in so quickly! I would highly recommend the steak and the ahi tuna as both were delish! The risotto was so good as well. For our appetizers, we got the happy hour wings as well as the onion rings, and they were both great. I also had their chardonnay and it was perfectly dry. Great service!
Sat out on the patio this summer with friends for our birthdays and the service was shockingly poor Waited a long time for service but that was not the worst of it. Changed servers without warning or notification, ++ excuses by the new waiter who was equally out of his depth with no apology. We asked if it was possible to have the heater lit as it was a bit chilly he said he will have to ask the manager who then came and dragged the unit in the loudest way possible after removing our menus from our table without a simple word exchanged. It was simply an awful and disappointing experience.
So good, Every bite brings a tear to my eye, the service is perfect. It might be called the flying pig but it should be called rainbow, because it passed my review with flying colours. Every thing is cooked to perfection. Although portions look small, they are more than enough to fill anyone up. Meat balls are good yummy, bread is perfect. Call me a pig because I ll be flying to heaven after this meal. Thank you, thank you, I will sleep with glee. Might aswell call this place Freddy krueger because it ll be in my dreams. So good I wish i could eat here everyday, no matter what you order it will be good. Call this place Insomnia because I cant sleep without it. Special thanks to Dylan he was an amazing server and was super nice throughout my meal. Thank you Dylan:).
Quick happy hour stop. Happy hour. Went with the braised meatballs with tomato fondue and focaccia. along with the jumbo mac and cheese. All very good. Server Claudia was great to chat with.
Mmmm mmmm MMMMM! Went for the all day happy hour menu on a Monday, and was not disappointed. Such delicious food, and friendly service, wth some of the best happy hour prices in town. HIGHLY recommend!
Loved it, great place for a night out with a loved one
Came with family. Very good Brussel sprouts, and poutine
Date: August 3, 2018 Server: Natasha Total: $128.68 (3 people) One of the cult classic munch places in Vancouver. This place includes bread for the table, so that should be an indication to dress nicely (semi-casual). Got 2 passion margeritas ($10.75) along with Chicken Drumettes ($12) which were delightful. Entrees included my Pork Rack ($29), Halibut ($34), and a Rotisserie Half Chicken ($24). All of the food was exceptional, but Homer St will always be the GOAT for rotisserie chicken. Parking: Yaletown parking can get packed at peak hours so keep that in mind.
Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the brunch at the Flying Pig. Service was friendly, food came quickly, and it didnt break the bank! Will be back.
They have good service, the salmon and the drinks are great. The prices are good and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
