This is, by far, the best restaurant Ive eaten at in a long time. Everything was perfect - the wine, the service, the atmosphere, the attention to detail, the very reasonable price given the level of commitment to a world class meal. The location is wonderfully located off the main drag and waterfront. To make a perfect meal and evening even more wonderful when we walked out the neighboring hotel had an opera singer performing for free on a very cool Vancouver night. Dont miss this gem.

I took the prime rib, and it was a very disappointing choice. They offer for me to get something else. I went for the pork chop, and it was amazingly good. Good way to recuperate from what could have been a very bad experience.

Sable fish was outstanding, melt-in-your-mouth with crispy skin done in a sake sauce. Vegetables cooked perfectly al dente. Calamari uniquely prepared using thick slices and unique spicy crust with Caesar sipping sauce. Service was delightful with lots of attention and smiles. This is a must visit Vancouver B.C. seafood restaurant! Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible.

I love this place, the seafood is amazing, the only thing a can say is my favorite place, the servers are really nice.

I stopped by when I was a little tired of traveling during a long vacation overseas (after spending 2 weeks in Europe), and I was very satisfied and energized. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the grilled salmon I ordered had no odor at all, was fatty, and was very delicious. Ill come back later.

Beautiful views, incredible food, with above & beyond service. The team here took incredible care of me and my party. We were visited by Natalie and felt like the most valued customer. She was kind and genuine and made some great food and drink suggestions that were all 10/10. We cannot wait to visit again soon!

We had a great experience at Carderos! From the moment we walked in, Karen, the hostess was kind and made some great meal suggestions. Then, we had excellent service and excellent food. The salmon and lobster were fantastic. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere and a beautiful view of the marina.

Excellent food and excellent service. This is my favorite place to go to in the area for a quick meal or a nice romantic dinner. The prawns, truffle fries, brussel sprouts and fish are excellent! Nice restaurant, view of ship, river, cool outdoors

We had such a good time! We ordered a bunch of things to share. Had cold glasses of wine and talked our heads off. The space was noisy but the coconut broth with the musseps was worth the price of admission. Excellent service as well Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access. Good bathroom.

Nice food great service

Update: I visited Cardero s for a second time tonight and was very disappointed with the food and service. The server was friendly, but not very attentive (for example, our water ran out and she didn t refill the bottle). I could look past some of the lapses in service if it was a really busy night, but half the restaurant was empty. The hummus was nice, but I found it silly that they only provided us 6 pieces of tiny bread with it. You would need a minimum of 8-10 pieces to eat all the humus. I tried the feature bouillabaisse, which was decent, but nothing spectacular. For $50, I expected more. My wife had their Thai curry prawns and liked it, but again it wasn t anything better than you could get in Earls. The room is nice, and really well lit for a date night. Overall we walked away disappointed. . Cardero s provides a very COVID safe dining experience. They have a beautiful and well spaced out room, and also a really nice patio. They have a good beer selection and the food was also excellent. Our server was a bit quirky, but kept our water glasses full and was quite attentive throughout our 2 hour dining experience.

I can 100% say Toby gave one of the best levels of service I ve ever experienced in Vancouver. He was so on top of things, very attentive, welcoming, and not to mention all of his recommendations were spot on. I ll also mention several of the other staff were very friendly as well, we were greeted and sat right away, and also before leaving many made sure to say bye and wished us a good rest of our night. Good job Carderos for hiring/training amazing staff! I heavily suggest ordering the prawn sizzle and brussel sprouts to start, they were so so yummy!

5 of us were seated at the worst table, across from a door and right across from the kitchen so we had the light and noise from the kitchen and the chill every time the door opened. Dungeness crab not great. Drinks were weak and the manhattans were not very good. They were made differently than most other places.

Kid-friendliness: When I was here on holidays after a long travel day we came here me and the missus. Was a great meal and excellent staff. My kid was cranky and they gave her stuff color. Recommend! Food

Amazing location which makes going worth it, but the food can be a little bit of a miss depending on the day. Nothing truly bad, but sometimes a lot of their flavouring and the way they pair the meat/fish with the sauces can be very heavy. For example the cedar plank salmon, which that smokiness already makes the fish heavier does not need a heavy soy sauce paired with it. But overall, a good atmosphere.

Went to Carderos a couple of weeks ago and was deeply disappointed! The WOK SQUID was awful. It tasted like they used two month old OIL to cook it in. The BUDDHAS FEAST was so average I could not finish it, and the GREEN BEANS must have been soaked in SALT! And by the way, days later I was contacted by email regarding my post with a promise of getting a call from the MANAGER. Three weeks later, NO word from anyone! Can you say BULLSHITTERS?

One of my favorite restaurants and it didnt disappoint last night either had the half rack of lamb was amazing only thing I have to say that is bad its a little dark but I also get that is the atmosphere. Pete our server was top tier class funny very loving and kind to my 4 year old daughter and made sure our experience was nothing but amazing and unforgettable . Will be always be back again.

Wanted to try a good Seafood place. Searched Seafood near me. Got in, have no reservation, so told that all dining tables are set aside for reservations only, they didnt even look for a table, said we have to sit at a Pub high table. Ordered a Seafood platter had to eat it on this tiny table whilst the entire tike there is 2 vacant normal low seated tables right beside us. Food was good, live music was really pleasant but the loud drunk people also killed it as did sitting at a super awkward table while knowing there is normal ones available. The staff didnt seem to care much or at all about our comfort. Went to leave, used washroom on way out, remembered I left my umbrella behind. They set it aside, no they didnt try to come give it to me, they set it aside to keep it. Just BRUTAL!!

We went to Carderos for the second time, with a party of 7 people. We had booked in advance at 2pm for a reservation for all of us for 8:30pm on the same day, but when we arrived the hostess said that the reservation had been cancelled. It was possibly a system error as we definitely didnt cancel it, we had phoned in our booking because of the large group size. Even though there was some technical issues with their booking system the manager was so kind and accommodating, managing to seat us all within a few minutes of arrival regardless of their busy night. We want to say a huge thank you to him for handling the situation so professionally. His staff were great as well as our server. One of our party members even had a glass shatter on the table, her entire full drink spilling all over! They replaced her beverage and helped clean up at no charge! The food was amazing as always, and they even sent out a bonus birthday dessert for my partners birthday! How lovely of them to do that. All in all this place is awesome for their seafood and weve always had a great experience here. Kudos to you and your staff! I would highly recommend this place for delicious seafood and great service. Thanks everyone!

Food great. Location great. Unfortunately, we spent the night close to a table of loud and drunk men - but that is out of anyones control. As far as the service, considering the level of the restaurant, we would have hoped for more, definitely.

You know a place is good when you book a hotel to be near a restaurant. The food is amazing ( more than amazing). The staff just as amazing. And the beauty is you can be sitting near someone who has a 20 million pound yacht but the atmosphere is that relaxed and special you never would know. Cant recommend highly enough.

A few days ago, we went for lunch at your restaurant. As a local resident, I ve visited many times before, but I ve noticed a significant decline in quality recently. The food is no longer as good, and the cleanliness has become a major issue. We were served water in dirty glasses, which we didn t use, we had to also wipe our cutlery before eating. My partner ordered a beer, and the server poured it into a glass with visible lip gloss marks on it. When we pointed this out, the server simply wiped the rim with a rag and poured the rest of the beer into the same glass an incredibly unhygienic and unprofessional response. The restaurant was cold and uncomfortable to sit in, and despite the place being half-empty, it took about 40 minutes for our meal to arrive. On a previous visit, the steak we ordered was of very poor quality, full of veins, which was disappointing. Additionally, I often see staff smoking or eating outside while wearing their work uniforms, which raises serious concerns about hygiene when they return to handle food. I had planned a booking for my mom s birthday in December, but after this experience, I will definitely be canceling it. Please take these concerns seriously and train your staff to uphold proper hygiene and service standards. Serving food and drinks in dirty dishes is completely unacceptable, as is taking 40 minutes to serve a meal when the restaurant isn t even busy. There s significant room for imporovment

Weekends are very very busy so if youre really hungry make sure you have a book table if not it does take a while to have your order, you can always sit at the bar and order your meal Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible, you need to call in advance at least the day before and book a spot let the staff know that you have a wheelchair so they can see you accordingly for space

The seafood here was the best Ive had in Vancouver. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and the staff were kind and helpful.

The beautiful patio view really made the dining experience stand out. I ordered the Dockside Platter, which was more than enough for two people I couldn t even finish it! The seafood was fresh and well-prepared, making it a great option for anyone craving a hearty seafood meal in a scenic setting.

Came here for a work dinner with my colleagues. Food was delicious, we had Brussels sprouts, shrimp steamed dumplings and sautéed shrimps and other things on the menu. Great atmosphere there was live music and our waitress was great! Thank you!

PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! Ive been here before but not for several years. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is wonderful, the service was superb and the food was 11/10. I had the halibut dish with added scallops, my friend had the prawn and scallops dish and we added the szeuchan beans and brussel sprouts to share. Every single element was top notch, so flavorful, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Highly highly recommend this place!

We have been going to Carderos for decades and it is one of our favorite restaurants of all time. The Vancouver harbor setting is unsurpassed if you love the ocean and boats. The food is exquisite; this time we had the wok fried squid and Thai shrimp and rice, paired with an Okanagan VQA Pinot Gris. You will never be disappointed with the setting, the service, the food, all for a decent price.

LOVE this restaurant! Its definitely a favorite that I will be adding to my list. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the views of the water was a nice added touch too.

It was just ok. Nothing to rave over Halibut was tasty but the enormous amount of olive oil on the plate was a bit much. Would I go there again probably not as there must be lots of restaurants of this quality in Vancouver

The waiter, Pete, is a true gem! He was super nice and funny, the service was wonderful, and my friends birthday brownie was cutely decorated. The food was great, especially the sweet and sour chicken. Also, the pepperoni pizza can sound pretty simple, but this one is surprisingly good. We waited long to get a table, but it was absolutely worth it.

Given its location I expected it to be a tourist hangout with mediocre food and service. My expectations were exceeded. We are going back the next time we visit Vancouver.

I sliced my finger open while unlocking a bathroom stall and when I went to tell the front, was told they already knew about the issue, which was disappointing. All of the staff were extremely helpful, I was given a bandaid and we were comped $30 from our meal by the GM. I m leaving this review to make sure the stall gets fixed and dealt with before someone else gets injured. Huge risk of spreading serious infection if multiple ppl are getting cut on the same object.

We started with the cast iron mushrooms, which were perfectly sautéed with the right amount of garlic. For the main course, I opted for the sablefish which was cooked to perfection tender and buttery flaky; each bite a delight. My girlfriend chose the signature wok squid with truffle fries and after sampling a bite, I understood why she orders the same every time. The service was impeccable. Our server, John, was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a great cocktail suggestions. The pacing of the meal was spot on, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. The bill took longer than expected but overall the experience was great. Cardero s has one of the best views in Vancouver. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to an outstanding meal, this restaurant delivers on every front flavor, service, and atmosphere. I cant recommend it highly enough!

Their seafood is good but I went there and ordered a ribeye steak. It came out tasting of rot. You could even see it in the steak before you put it in your mouth. I am not sure why the chef served me that, thinking I wouldnt notice perhaps? Never again will I ever order steak from a seafood restaurant. I have learned my lesson. Just like I do not order Indian food from a Caucasian restaurant. Same type of thing. My bad for sure. I recommend the seafood, fish, shellfish and all of that from this restaurant only. Service is incredible. Happy eating all!

I was there on June 30th for my girlfriend s birthday. The service was excellent. The waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. I can t remember his name, but he really made the experience special!

The miso Sablefish was good, but the rice and vegetables were bland. The Manhattan clam chowder was not good. I didnt eat it, and the server removed it from the bill. It sounds like complaints are common. The service was very good. I thought the music was too loud, but thats very subjective.

Got sat inside at about 3/3:30. Not late at night, or for breakfast or whatever, which is why I feel I have to write this review. The kitchen wasnt closing and we werent the first customers either. Eventually when our waitress Kelsey came over she acted more than unfriendly towards us. Not a great start. We had to ask her for refills and new drinks. Food was fantastic! We had the prawns and scallops and grilled salmon. Not a complaint about that, but it really looked like the server wanted to get out. Was not asked for any desserts, just dropped a bill. Already in Barcelona and trying to imitate your squid wok recipe, I have managed to enjoy your culinary successes again. That same recipe with the squid we have here would be something insanely tasty. Thank you for giving me good ideas for my future recipes. More than anything else I like how friendly the waiters are at this restaurant. Our crowd gave their salmon pizza a 10/10 but the burger is 7/10 (but when we showed them the part that was a little burnt, they brought us a new one ) and the truffle fries 10 out of 10.

Great experience, food and service

I went there for dinner on my first day in Vancouver. Its located in a yacht harbor and has a nice atmosphere. I get the impression that there are not many tourists and only a small number of locals come here. The meal is a course meal with a choice of steak or salmon. I chose salmon and it was so delicious I think Ill order salmon next time I go. The dessert that came at the end was a ridiculously large cake that looked like a lump of sugar, and although it was delicious, I was satisfied with the sweetness after only two bites. Im very satisfied with the overall taste of the food, but the price is a little high due to the weak yen. However, it cannot be removed, so it is recommended when traveling.

Very good place to eat, super good service and gluten free food

We had a great time at lunch today with Patrick and Anthony! Even when one of us was away strolling our little one, they were stellar at managing the service and food. On that note, every dish from the Muscles to the Salmon was delicious! Highly recommended it!

Reservations can be made via the website. The website has a link to the OpenTable app, and you can make reservations there. You ll also reminder for the reservation via text message too. This is easily the best restaurant in Vancouver. Cedar salmon tastes good, but I wished there weren t veggies in the fried rice. I couldn t find Diet Coke in the menu though.

I went here with my family for my mom s birthday dinner last Saturday. We decided to go here since none of us have ever dined in Cardero s before. Atmosphere was great. You can choose to dine inside or dine at patio to enjoy the sun. Staff helped me reserve a table so we had a table for 4 of us. We ordered the following: 1) Mussels and Frites ($29), 2) Crispy Fried Oysters ($17), 3) Clam Chowder (bowl size $13), 4) 2 pc Fish and Chips ($26), 5) Smoked Salmon Pizza ($25), 6) Linguine Vongole ($29) with pale ale ($8.25). Mussels and frites and Vongole were great. Fish and chips were not bad at all. We were surprised clam chowder wasn t the typical creamy kind of soup. It rather looked like tomato soup. Smoked Salmon Pizza was okay. It was small and thin. It was also messy to eat as toppings kept falling. Portions were small for the price. There were lots of fries for Mussels and Fries and Fish and Chips. Oysters were not bad. My family didn t like it. Our server Jacqui was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive. She even offered a slice of free cake for my mom. Some of us didn t feel full after eating. Also there was no free bread before food came out. I feel sorry to say that food was too mediocre overall. Too expensive for an average food in my personal opinion.

Favorite restaurant in downtown Vancouver A restaurant that only I want to know about! Fish and chips, fried oysters, and salmon are delicious! The salmon burger is a must-try. Overall, the price is reasonable. The service is good, the taste is good, the ingredients are fresh and the atmosphere is nice :)

Great place to come and take a break.

Four of us came here on the spur of the moment and were given a table right away. The atmosphere, ambience, service and food were all excellent. Plenty of food choices and even options for gluten-free which was awesome!

A great seafood restaurant on the Vancouver waterfront! The location is excellent, especially the view in the evening. In addition to dishes using fresh seafood, there is also a wide selection of steaks and pasta, so even those who dont like seafood can enjoy it with confidence. The staff is friendly and the service is said to be very good. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or special occasion dinner, so be sure to stop by while sightseeing!

Great atmosphere here, appealing interior with dim lighting and an energetic open kitchen. The menu was diverse and the food was on point, however did not meet the bar of expectation. That being said, the price point was fair. Service was kind and helpful, but slow at times.

One of my favorite questions to ask waitstaff is, If you were told you could end your shift right now and take home anything from the menu, what are you leaving with? - - This question did not disappoint here! I was told that the roasted sablefish was a must. It was! It was so buttery and flaky, I wish I got two of them. In addition, all the meals for our table were delicious, drinks as well!

Attempted a walk-in but the cue was long. The front man, Manny, was a bit rude and indifferent to our group. He offered different seating options for the group ahead of us but cut us short when we asked for different seating options and associated waiting times. Everyone in the group echoed the feeling, it felt like we got a different treatment, not sure why. The other groups were on a first name basis, indicating they were perhaps habitual customers. However as first comers the impression of the service was sup-optimal. Changed locations.

Perfect for date night with beautiful views and atmosphere. Food is phenomenal. One if my favourite places in Vancouver. Flew my partner in from Toronto and chose this for date night.

We love Carderos The location (right on the water) the food, the drinks, the ambiance, the staff (we were greeted by Manny, hes friendly, approachable, professional and so great at making you feel welcome) and our server Tymara was friendly, knowledgeable, fun and fabulous We started off with Oysters (theyre always good here) and the Wok Squid (the best Squid Ive had and Im not a squid person). Our meals were fabulous Our dishes included the 7oz tenderloin with an added lobster tail (you have to have seafood here), the NY strip with lobster , the Carderos signature salmon (my son said it was the best salmon hes had, he orders salmon at most restaurants we go to) the Mediterranean salad (its amazing ) and the Margherita pizza, which is delicious The menu has everything, my daughter is pescitarian, her friend that was with us cant have gluten, and we managed to get exactly what we wanted and we all raved about our food. Now, to the good part, the drinks . We had the red sangria and the amalfi fizz and both were spectacular. The guys had beers and the selection of beers, cocktails and wine makes it hard to decide. Carderos is in my book, so make sure to make a reservation as its a bumpin place where you want to go! Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options with the different salads. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are also available. Parking: We parked at Waterfront Centre (paid parking) and walked the Coal Harbour seawall to the restaurant.

I expected a snooty fine dining restaurant like some in the harbour but was greeted with the opposite. Classy atmosphere with warm and welcoming staff. Unbelievably fresh and delicious seafood. Cozy ambiance perfect for a date or business meal. Very professional and knowledgeable waiters and hosts. And lastly you cannot beat the view from this restaurant. I would highly recommend Cardero s!

Great place for high quality casual dining

Fabulous location, great food, good value, always good service, and great high energy atmosphere. One of the most consistent restaurants in Vancouver in terms of food and service. Parking: A couple of underground garages within a block

We went here on the recommendation of a local bartender while visiting Vancouver. Boy, was it a great one! Cardero s only takes a limited number of reservations and mainly focuses on taking walk-ins, so the wait is a bit unpredictable. But, we put our name on the list and went to the bar for a drink. This was probably the low point of our visit as we were in a weird corner and forgotten by the bartender. Luckily, after one (could have been two) drink, we got seated on the deck overlooking Coal Harbor Yacht Club. It was really beautiful. Our waiter asked us about our time availability and we had no other plans so we agreed to pace the meal accordingly. Started with some East Coast oysters with delicious cocktail or mignonette sauces. Then we split a delicious Caesar salad with homemade dressing and crispy fried capers. Finally, we got our mains, miso marinated Sable fish, which was flaky and succulent and grilled Sockeye Salmon cooked to perfection. Some of the best seafood we had on our trip. Our service was on point and we enjoyed our entire experience at Cardero s. We ll definitely be back when we next visit Vancouver.
