Fish and Veg with a fun and energetic vibe brought to you by the folks who brought you Nook and Tavola restaurants. Small plates meant to be shared. Carefully sourced and interesting wine and cocktail list. Many wines by the glass. Since we are serving fresh seafood, a good portion of our menu changes daily. We reservations through OpenTable.
The quality of the food was so good! We loved everything we ordered and look forward to going again soon we can try more of the menu. Our server Annie was so lovely and personable she genuinely added to the experience (and had great recommendations). We surprisingly really enjoyed sitting at the chef’s table, being on the peripheral and watching the food being made was also a fun experience and for two people it was a great set up. Looking forward to trying this restaurant again.
Four of us went for dinner and had a good variety of appies and entrees, dessert and were not disappointed. Everything was outstanding.
Loved everything we ordered... The fries, linguine, mackerel, oysters and brussel sprouts. Great customer service as well.
ODDFish is an absolute gem! From the moment we sat down, we were blown away by the quality and flavor of everything we tried. Their bread alone was a standout – warm, perfectly crusty, and served with a divine spread that set the tone for the meal. Each dish that followed was a masterpiece, from the freshest seafood to the most deliciously seasoned vegetables. We sampled a wide range of dishes from their menu, and every single one was top-notch. And don’t even get me started on the desserts – indulgent, creative, and the perfect way to end the meal. If you’re looking for a place where every bite is bursting with flavor and crafted with care, ODDFish is a must-visit!
Food was yummy, but portion sizes seemed a bit small. Had grilled oysters, crudo plate, and watermelon salad to start. Crudo plate left a bit to be desired given that all the fish/shrimp was dressed in an olive oil caper sauce. We probably should have ordered two different crudos instead of the tasting plate for two sauce types. The service was also a bit too quick and we felt rushed because the food served so fast. We didnt even have time to order a glass of wine with mains because it was served before we finished our cocktails. Our salad also came out last which was odd. Although we said food could come out when it was ready, having the kale salad after our vongole, scallops and the whole fried fish (which we were told would take a while to make.. which did not happen), made the meal feel a bit backwards. Will probably come back in the future to give it another shot as everything was tasty.
This place is amazing. Food is a 10/10, service is always good, and the restaurant is super nice, the booth seats are very comfy. Menu slightly more on the pricey side but it’s a great date night out for sure, well worth it. Recommend trying the moon fish, and any spaghetti, scallops were so good can’t wait to return!
Friendly staff and service, great atmosphere, great location, and most of all the food was just outstanding. The smoked squid was cooked so perfectly. The oysters, definitely go for the sweet selects. The pasta didn’t look like a lot but it is filling and very flavourful. The fish cakes was packed with fish and tartare sauce paired nicely with it. The halibut was very light and flaky. Our service gave is a dessert on the house and it has olive oil and pistachio which was very nice and refreshing! I would love too come back if I’m in the area again.
This restaurant was beautiful, the service was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back. Shout out to our super cool waitress and the science lesson! Spoiler: Do you know what family the Octopus belongs to?
Walked by many times, finally had dinner with my wife there this Saturday and the food was amazing. All fish or vegetable and we loved it all. Great family style dishes and tasty all around. Definitely on our list of places to go more often.
Oddfish is one of the best restaurants in town! The dishes are amazing, the cocktails will blow you away, and the service is the perfect blend of casual and professional. Every time I have guests in town and take them to Oddfish to give them one of the best west coast dining experiences out there!
Food was a little hit or miss. The raw fish we had was good but a little overpriced for the portion. Scallops were undercooked, but this may have been deliberate on their part. Fries and cocktails were good. Service was good.
Make yourself a favor and eat there. We got recommendations to go to Oddfish by people well established in the industry. Coming from Mtl we have high expectations. We were greeted by Kyle, the manager, and served by Scott. 5 stars service from both of them. They had the best recommendations for us to really enjoy the experience. The squid is to die for. I wish we stayed longer in Vancouver so we could go again. Their little attention at the end with the eggnog made from scratch surprised us as we dont like that drink, but we sure loved theirs!!! Highly recommended!
Food is delicious, service is amazing, overall one of the best experiences in Vancouver! Will be back!
Oh my goodness where to start with this place?! It was October 29th and I had started a new job and my friend wanted to go for dinner to celebrate my new. I looked for a place not downtown but close to Burrard St. that had fish as a majority menu item. Also it had to have had 4.4 or more stars. I have high standards for celebrations :). Google maps showed me this place Oddfish , the menu was a perfect pescatarian diet, with lots of vegetables with bold flavours. When I arrived, they only had one table left on the patio, I took it! While I waited for my friend our lovely communicative waiter gave his suggestions and started a soothing conversation. My job is high volume and I needed a soothing place. Oddfish did more than deliver. I didn t even know it was cold outside, the autumn Old Fashioned soothed my nerves, and felt cozy, while I relaxed, people watching on a late October evening. When my friend arrived she opened the menu and jokingly asked for everything on the menu. It was the first time we had been to a restaurant that spoke to our preferred diets. We had the Ahi Tuna Tataki, the Burratta toast, Halibut & Shrimp Ceviche, Roasted Beets, and Seared Scallops. We sat there dissecting the flavours, and enjoying everything that crossed our pallets. We shared it all and we were so full that we were more than content and just didn t want to leave. We had long drives home to the burbs, so we knew the clock would strike soon enough for us to leave. Thank you Oddfish and your chef Etienne Buddingh, We haven t stopped raving about this restaurant and we truly can t wait to return. Wheelchair accessibility: I have a torn knee and walk with a brace on my knee and a cane, and it was all the same level even to the patio, I just can t remember if there was an accessible washroom. I would call and ask.
Such a huge selection of interesting fish dishes, everything so fresh and flavourful, service fast friendly and attentive. Would def go back again. Easy to have a casual girls night or a romantic date night out.
One of the best atmospheres in Vancouver with great food and service! We had the pleasure of having Richard take care of us on a celebration night and we truly felt taken care of throughout the night. Thank you Richard and the Oddfish team for another great experience! Highly recommend.
Have dined here 3 times in the last couple years and each time is fantastic. I didn t even notice until last night that they don t even have meat on the menu. No one including my meat loving husband missed it though! The burrata as a starter is a must have. I ve had both the honey pistachio and the seasonal pea mint one. Perfect. I didn t even like burrata before this. The fresh pasta makes a nice side dish with a veggie side too. We shared the halibut but I could have eaten it all! For dessert we had the salted caramel bowl of heaven (not actual name). The only other dessert I ve had elsewhere that is better than this is the date pudding at Rim Rock Cafe. Update: still going to this amazing restaurant, it s hard to find spots thay are consistently this superb for both food and service. We ve been back probably 3-4 times in the last couple years. We live about an hour away now in traffic but just made the trek out to meet friends here and everything was delish. The burrata continues to be a fave, and I was very impressed with the scallops too. I see a lot of the same severs that have been there for years which is always a good sign too. If the owners see this - please consider opening a second location in north van!! Beyond the food, the servers are all very friendly and attentive. The vibe is as casual or as dressy as you want . Very Vancouver. I d you make a reso for the patio know that most of it is covered/enclosed from rain and there are heaters, I was warmer out there than I often feel indoors!
Sat outside on their heated patio, amazing service , delicious food. Smaller portions but packed with flavour. Their fries are the obvious must have as an appy! Branzino had the perfect crispy skin, and to too it off the sticky toffee pudding was to die for
Very busy! A bit pricey. I do not recommend seating at the bar... Service is way better of you are at a table...
Some dishes were good others were not. The tuna tataki made me sick and made it an unpleasant experience.
Dietary restrictions: One of our party is gluten free dairy free and our waiter was incredibly accommodating and helpful. And the sommelier was on top of his game! Food
Love this place. Clean fresh food, good cocktails, excellent vibe, run by people with the perfect combination of efficiency, attention, and warmth.
Delicious food with a focus on freshness.
The food and atmosphere is good but its overpriced relative to the value you get compared to other high end restaurants in Vancouver.
Oysters good. shrimp n halibut salad too much lime, a bit strong. Scallops prepared well. So is halibut good. My wife like the margarita cocktail mixed well. Shout out to the bartender, well done
We loved this place! Food was delicious and service great - highly recommended!
So many great options, super fresh seafood, lovely staff, just an overall great place to visit.
Honestly , I ve been wanting to come for a long time , everytime i remember, it s last minute and couldn t get a table .. finally went to try .. Service was stellar & we tried a few things and are already craving them & can t wait to try more .. went last night & already booked another reso for tomorrow night .. it s not often you take a bite and are already planning your next visit .. Loved it ! Delicious, neighborhood vibes not pretentious with amazing quality and flavours
Nice seafood restaurant. A variety of different ways of doing seafood. I really enjoyed it.
I had my birthday dinner here. The food was fresh and great! The service wasn t as fast as I expected but I think it went well with the relaxed atmosphere.
Fantastic menu and atmosphere.
Food is good. Lively atmosphere. Service is quite good - the server was pleasant but more detail about the dishes and the quantity of dishes needed for our party would ve been helpful. Most of the dishes we had were really good. But we found the portions very small and so this might end up being more expensive than you might think.
One of the best seafood restaurants in Vancouver. Great atmosphere and nice patio.
Always amazing
This place kills it, there s no replacement for amazing food and great service . Just outstanding. Dietary restrictions: My wife is gluten free it s a mess but they accommodated everything !
One of the best experiences at a restaurant we ve ever had. Beautiful location, restaurant, and outdoor seating. The food was amazing - every bite got better & better and the menu had a great selection of dishes and drinks. The costumer service was outstanding - every single employee was friendly and knowledgeable. Kyle was such an accommodating, friendly host and truly cared about our experience. So much fun, will be back!!
The food and service were great.
Bustling place with a good vibe. Food was fine, drinks were better.
Service was terrible. Male maitre de was snobbish. They didnt have things on the menu that we were hoping to try (had seen reviews of). Didnt try the food.
Love the food and the staff here!
Sampled two types of oysters, both delicious, and served up right! The curry muscles were delicious. The toasted bread accompaniment was flavorful but the edges were unpleasantly burnt.

Exceeded my expectations. Outstanding small plates high quality and creative with Spanish, Italian, and Japanese influences. Will be back and recommend this spot if you love seafood and veggies. Service excellent without being stuffy. Very accommodating of our bike gear too : ) Vegetarian options: The veggie dishes were excellent! Highly recommend if you are seeking quality and creative vegetable-based dishes.
Amazing seafood, delicious cocktails and incredible service.
Everything we ordered was excellent, server (forgot his name)was great
We loved our dinner here so much during our visit to Vancouver that we ate here a second night! We loved everything we ordered both nights (with the highlight for me being the potato wrapped halibut and the burrata with butternut squash). Staff were incredibly friendly, humorous and helpful.
Food was unique and excellent, fresh and tasty.
Wonderful meal, new flavors, great service, not pretentious.
Delicious food & exceptional service.

Beautiful restaurant! Sit in the heated patio if you can. Service was brilliant. Food was amazing! Fries are to die for. everything was perfect. Will be going again and very happy with it all ( you dont hear me say that often)
I came to this restaurant with high expectations. My friend booked a table for two on a Saturday night. Although it was cold outside and at an unpopular time for most restaurants, as it was after the holidays, I was surprised to see so many people. To me, this was a good sign. I was greeted by a tall man with strawberry blonde hair who looked to be in his late 30s. His manner was abrupt and unfriendly, making both of us feel unwelcome. He made us wait, although we had already booked a week ahead of time. Then, after 15 minutes of waiting, in a very gruff manner, he seated us. This really created a negative tone for us for the rest of the evening. Fortunately, the rest of the staff were lovely, and the food was tasty. I dont know if it was a bad day for this man or if he is always like this, but I must say that it will be unlikely that we will come back to this place.
Overall a bad experience. Went there on Valentines Day. One of the server said another table complaint our kid was too loud while on a video call with his grandparent; and instructed us to stop. The music in the restaurant was far louder. When I questioned the manager at the end, he said he knew nothing of the sort - but no action was taken. This created a terrible experience for the whole family. But the food was decent thou and prices were fair.
Oddfish is always an exceptional experience. The freshest seafood in Vancouver combined with excellent service!
Though the service was great, the food itself isn t, for me, the best. The cost is quite high considering portions and taste of the dishes. Maybe it is just my tastes but I won t be coming back :(
Great ambiance, mussles we perfect
Service great, food does not justify the price.
Service was a 10, wish I remembered my server s name to shout her out. The rainbow road beer and ponzu mackerel were my favourite.
We found the food to be so so. Pasta was over cooked, fish was undercooked. Brussels sprouts were the highlight. Unfortunately what spoiled the meal was the odd pushiness by the server, firstly on ordering drinks ( oh that s very cautious of you , then on the mains - why are you ordering for three when there are six of you. Won t be back.
Some of the best seafood i ve had in some time. Scott was a fabulous server, and my wife and thoroughly enjoyed the mussels and tuna tataki that he recommended. We ll definitely be back!
Best scallops of my life
Good experience! The mussels were definitely my favourite and will go back for those and trying one of the octopus dishes. The fish and Brussel sprouts are good- maybe a tad heavy on the salt. Fries are okay- maybe because my preference is towards a skinnier fry than a huge wedge. But it was nice and crispy. The ceviche was flavourful! Same with the grilled oysters. Service was nothing to write home about. Definitely got a indifferent/ I can care less attitude. Not the best or worst. They did space out the courses well
Great seafood based dishes, innovative and well executed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and hilarious about food, drink and current events! We sat on the covered + heated patio which comfortable but plain. Inside was lively but very loud! Highly recommend to anyone.
The good: vibe, most of the staff, plating, wine, the fries. I had a glass of their chardonnay and at 21$ for 5oz it was lovely. Plating was nice for all the dishes, everything -looked- great. Fries were yummy however some were way crispier than others due to inconsistent sizes. Staff were mostly helpful and pretty friendly. The not so good: the service from our server was slow at times and also forgetful. Busy friday night I get it, but there are so many support staff on. I find it hardly acceptable to pay as much as you do to get your appetizer well before a glass of wine. Next the food, it is not bad food by any means but I cannot justify the prices for what you get. Everything minus the fries was poorly seasoned We tried the mussels with garlic and white wine pasta al limone, the scallops, brussel sprouts, and the fries. The best dishes were the fries and the pasta. But again youre paying so much money for food that was just not extraordinary. I understand they are trying to do tapas/share style but at nearly 40$ a plate for the seafood i was very disappointed with the flavour profile. For example the celeriac puree under the scallop tasted like mushy baby food (sorry) and the apricot stuff on top did nothing for the scallops either.. and you get 4 of them for 39$, much better options elsewhere. The mussel broth wasnt flavourful either which is shocking because it had all the right things in it! Wine, garlic, chili, etc all perfect accompaniments to mussels yet lacked flavour.. and salt. In fact everything lacked salt we ended up asking for salt. I was so excited to try oddfish as it was recommended to me but I don t think I will return because it is just not worth it for the price, way better seafood options out there.
Poor service, bartender is rude, food and drinks are average. There are so many decent places in Kits to eat and drink that there is no need to return to this place. Like the name says, its definitely an odd fish for a restaurant.
So glad we were able to get a table here - the food was incredible and the service was very friendly. A must try!
great food and crazy fast service pretty loud though, especially the bathrooms
Excellent price to quality ratio. Great menu for sharing.
Fresh ingredients but portions are bit small. Came here for our first dinner during our visit in Vancouver on a Friday night. The place was fully booked the only place available for us was in the heated patio area. The patio areas had plenty of heat lamps and the place was fully closed off so you won t need to worry about rain or snow (we were here during March and it actually snowed during our dinner!) The food was pretty good, we ordered tiger shrimp cocktails, grilled oysters, assorted sashimi platter, seared scallops and a bowl of clams. Our favourite was the seared scallops hands down. We also orders some vegetable dish and they were amazing too! The beets with avocado and warm goat cheese was out of this world! The portion was kind of small so consider yourself warned. But the quality was certainly worthy of the price tag. Would come back again!
Food is on the salty side. A bit quit pricey for the portion. Ordered a seared scallop for $40 and it has 4 pieces. Lol $10 per price and it was salty.
We came with a party of 5. This restaurant has delicious small plates, fantastic service and a cozy ambiance however my biggest complaint would be the portion sizes. I would recommend this restaurant for 2-3 people max or else you will need multiple dishes just to get a bite.
The staff are friendly and never steer you wrong with suggestions. The food is delicious and the wine selections are well curated. If seated in the dining room, as is always a packed house, tends to be a little loud.
Good
underwhelming for the price.
Oddfish was quite the experience. I had one of the best meals I think Ill ever have. I went with a party of four and we were all able to share, it was wonderful. I need to express how fresh and creative their menu is - especially when you realize it is all based on what comes in from that days catch. The octopus carpaccio, seared scallops, and the sole were divine. I can recommend all of those plus the mussels, though I have a feeling whatever you order here will end up being good. The one negative I would have is the price point if not for the fact I think the experience was well worth it. We ended up spending around $100 per person this meal.
All the dishes were amazing and the ingredients were fresh. Perfectly cooked potatoes wrapped halibut that we would definitely get again. Even their fries were good! Double fried and perfectly salted.
A+ great meal, fresh fish, impeccable service. Kinda pricey cocktails but food is spot (praw)on.
We had dinner there for the first time and it was amazing , the food was great , staff were friendly , for sure will go back
Gonna go with 4.5 here... Oddfish is a super unique place based on the fact its completely pescatarian. Situated in a quaint little neighborhood, Oddfish has a lot of character and its not the atmosphere that lends to it, its the food! We had a selection of delicious dishes: scallops, a sole picatta, an amazing burrata, and we had to throw some fries in there as well. We were hesitant about the Picatta but its a best seller and was very flavorful. Scallops again are exceptionally delicious but a smaller serving as was the burratta. Understand that the portions arent the largest at Oddfish, but they make up for it in taste. Service was good. Not too overbearing and knowledgeable with respect to the menu. Our guy made a few excellent suggestions that we appreciated. If youre interested in a menu centered entirely on seafood and fish, there arent many places better than Oddfish in Vancouver
Great atmosphere, the staff, the food is really good. Amazing hand cut fries, fresh fish. The only down side are the prices. The spicy margaritas are just wonderful but $50 (18% tip included) for two margaritas is just too much. Specially for two glasses half full.
Very attentive staff. Great food. Amazing service. Highly recommend.
This is by far one of the best in the city. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. A neighborhood fav. I highly recommend it for a nice evening out. Food
Great food and service was excellent. Staff was always there to fill your water and take away the dirty dishes. Our server offered us more toasted bread to soak up the broth from the mussels. Its thoughtful gestures like that, that is often missing from restaurants these days. . Dishes are shareable and theres a good variety. The menu is more than what is on their webpage as they have a seasonal menu with quite a few dishes in addition to there regular menu. The inside seating sounded noisy so we chose to sit outside.Outdoor patio is enclosed and heated.
Seafood lover s paradise. The muscles and fries were some of the best I ve ever had. Our server helped with some recommendations and answered any questions we had about the menu in depth.
The Hey Sailor and delicious potato wrapped halibut were incredible. Thank you!
Cozy ambiance inside and perfect patio for nice days. Baked oysters, crudo and burrata were favorites, but everything was excellent. Nice Sancerre wine paring recommendation. Highly recommended if youre in Vancouver.
Ive been in the neighborhood for years and cant believe I havent been here before. Excellent service and the food was wonderful. Agua Chile was delicious, we also had the Thai mussels - great broth and nice bread served with it. We ordered some fries (dont usually) definitely a good choice and the roasted beets were amazing.
The food was excellent but the service was the worst I ve ever experienced. I ve never felt so rushed in my life. We were out on 45 min. The waiter didn t ask if we wanted coffee when we said no to dessert and gave me the bill saying no rush. When I said that we wanted coffee, no apologies, and when he gave us coffee, he gave us the bill with it again. I didn t put out my credit card and the guy came around 5 times to see if my card was ready to pay. Don t get the waiter with the red beard. He obviously didn t have a good night. When I paid, he said he wished the restaurant closed at 9pm. Worst service and ruined the night. Although food was good not going back ever again.
If you are asian, don t go. They don t even look at your eyes. This is $40 dish btw.
Id been wanting to try this place for the last 5-10 years as I used to live nearby and always passed by. Finally just did so. The service is top notch. We had two very nice attentive waiters serving us. The atmosphere is lovely and lively, and the patio is pleasant. The food was very good but lacking the wow factor I was expecting, and my friend thought the same. I think part of the reason is, the bar is now set so high by all the good places to eat in this city. We had the mussels, halibut cheeks, hand cut fries and pea tips. The best mussels Ive had still remains those at Locals restaurant in Courtenay. The best halibut cheeks my friend has had still remains at the now closed West restaurant in Vancouver. It was my first time trying halibut cheeks so I was quite excited, but they were somewhat bland and to me, the texture made it seem like it could have been from any part of the fish. They were served with tartar sauce and pickles which was interesting. Very small serving size for a $50 entree; not enough for one person if youre hungry. I filled up on fries and bread instead. My friend is a huge pea tips fan and as I predicted, he prefers the traditional Chinese method of cooking them, with more subtle flavouring and more garlic. I agree that method allows the bitterness and flavour of the pea tips to shine. But the soy sauce / sesame oil variation at Oddfish was still nice. In my opinion, the best part of the meal was the hand cut fries, the aioli it was served with, and the carbonated water made on their in-house machine. Very good carbonated water. All in all, Id go back, but I wouldnt run back.
The food flavours were great, and the service was very good. The food portions left me underwhelmed. My pasta was a reasonable portion for a $20 entree, but not the $35 it cost. My girlfriends fish dish was $37 and did not include any side at all. In fairness, the server did warn us that was how it came, and suggested ordering a side, which she decided not to. I will not be returning.
Amazing place at granville area
The portions were pretty small but the food was good. The burrata was SO GOOD. If you like a more lively atmosphere sit inside, we chose the patio because it was more intimate.
Very enjoyable visit. Service was excellent although it did take about 10 mins for our party of 4 to all get their appetisers. Very expensive for a small piece of Halibut with no accompaniments! However the food was excellent. Very loud in the dining room, needs more soft furnishings to absorb the noise. Parking: Very difficult to find parking, walk or get a cab!
A fantastic seafood restaurant with expert staff and delicious food. Our server helped us craft a tapas menu that was a delicious culinary experience. Thank you!
Great spot. Excellent service and enjoyable food.
So happy we found this restaurant! Large selection of vegetarian dishes and sea food, delicious food! Especially loved the halibut and the vegetarian pasta. Also the fries are delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Only note is it s REALLY loud inside, we couldn t hear each other speaking (even the young ones;). I recommend sitting outside. Overall great experience
Not for me, but some of the food we re good
Super gorgeous restaurant with an interesting menu. Everything was flavourful and fresh and the service was so great! It is definitely on the pricier side for the portion size but the quality was top notch.
A bit overrated. Portions are pretty small compared to the price. Decent taste. Good service I tried tuna ahi poke, chips were burnt. Scallops and oysters were good.
Food was delicious! Would come back here next time! Kid-friendliness: Yes. Very nice and kind to kids Food : 5/5 |
Food and service were both great! Been here a few times now. :) Would recommend
Go here. Just do it. And order the scallops.
I have never wanted to lick a plate so desperately in my life I had the salmon feature and from the artful presentation to the mouthwatering flavours- I was smitten It was quite literally the best salmon that I have ever tasted. It was succulent, moist, flavourful & melted in my mouth. They further maximized the flavour with a crispy skin finish that gave a hightened texture and finish that was utterly swoon worthy The service is ALWAYS top notch and you ll often find the owners there, nimbly sliding in to bus tables (ahem - Brad ) and have a friendly word The wine selection is also top notch and if you re not sure what you want, Kyle is there to assist in marrying a vino to your palate with exquisite accuracy 5 Stars all the way
Great spot for Friday night, great food and short walking distance from the beach to check out the sunset after dinner. Scallops and grilled oysters are must have
I have travelled to many countries and sampled many restaurants. I have to say that the Oddfish experience was simply divine..food was incredible..server (anthony) an absolute gem. It was an moment that allowed us..the 7 of us to stop/reflect and come to the same conclusion..that was a materpiece of a meal..i feel honoured and privilged to say that i have dined in vancouvers finest seafood restaurant..it will always be a fond memory back in galway, ireland.
Absolutely fantastic food. I highly recommend it.
Great good and service!
I am glad we found this restaurant! Fresh and delicious food, excellent service, warm atmosphere. Super!
Good sea food restaurant with an absolutely fantastic menu. Excellent. Fine. And real Italian expresso. Bravo
One of my favorite casual share plate restaurants in Vancouver. The food is always amazing, and its a great selection of fresh seafood and vegetable dishes. The drinks were a tad pricey, but I feel the food was very reasonably priced considering the quality and creativity of the dishes. The service is also amazing. The last time we were there the server for our section was super slammed but never let stress show. The manager(I presume) jumped in occasionally and the two made a great tag team. I always have a great experience whenever I come here!
Excellent Celiac Safe meal at Oddfish! Really impressed with the attentiveness of the wait staff, the care taken when dealing with a medically needed diet and the nice outdoor atmosphere! It is better to sit outside as inside is very loud. Outside is still loud but traffic dependant. Vegetarian options: The menu is heavy plant / vegetarian / seafood oriented. Despite not being a vegetarian the food was outstanding for flavour! Dietary restrictions: Celiac Disease / Gluten free diet - very accommodating and understood ins and outs of diet needs (such as sweet potato chips fried in oil in pan instead of fryer) and cross contamination. Another Celiac dining at next table. Chocolate mousse desert was outstanding! Wheelchair accessibility: One floor. Did not check washrooms. We sat outside and let them know that I needed an accessible table and a very suitable one was provided. The tables are pretty tight together so it was good to warn them.
A bit pricey, but worth it for a date night or a nice evening with friends. We all shared some appetizers (the Prawn Cocktail and the Burrata were standouts) and I got the Halibut Cheeks for my main dish. It was tasty but I will say that the portion was quite small despite our server telling me it was one of the most filling items on the menu. The patio was beautiful and it felt like a little oasis away from the city!
Amazing food, everything I tried was delicious. Cant even pick a favorite item. Oysters, mussels, sable fish, salmon tasted all very fresh and prepared excellently.
4.5. Great spot with delicious food. The menu isn t huge but the features menu is sizable and almost as fulsome as the regular menu. No meat - all fish options and a hearty mix of raw and cooked. Primarily raw fish appetizers but also some salads and veg dishes available. (The Burrata was the most expensive I ve seen on a menu). The apps were great- we saw almost every table around us get the French fries- they re delish also really enjoyed the yellow beans (heavy on the tarragon). The mains were good but they don t come with sides- nice to share some sides for the table. Service was very friendly, drinks were good- the mocktails were fine, not amazing. The atmosphere was great- big patio and the seating inside is also ample. Many vegetarian options! Vegetarian options: Many vegetable options, not many vegetarian options with protein (unless pescatarian). Meat-free restaraunt! Dietary restrictions: Amenable and accommodating to dietary restrictions.
Good casual place to get some fresh fish.
The oysters were so delicious, they tasted fresh out of the ocean! I appreciate that they serve non-alcoholic cocktails too.
I wish we could have ordered one of every dish but will just have to come back! They were incredibly accommodating for dietary restrictions, and while the menu may not specifically state gluten free options, the choices were abundant. We will absolutely be back.
Great recommendation from a lady on the street, we had a great time and really enjoy the food
Easily my favourite restaurant in the city. Fresh sheet always offers something new to try, along with regular menu staples that hit the spot every time. Awesome staff!
Adorable place + ceviche was amazing!
Food was delicious! But a $40 bottle of wine selling for $118!!! I get markups but common!
Love odd fish. Great food, great service & a vibey place
Hands down some of the best food weve had in a very long time. Highly recommend!
Love the food, great taste and beautiful presentation!! It is a bit too noisy for us but we can tell it is a very popular place for a good reason. My husband usually doesn t have dessert. I ordered the olive oil cake, he shared half of it, it was so good!! We will definitely be back for more!
Ive been to this restaurant a few times because its in my neighborhood, and the vibe is cool, the food is pretty good (although sometimes leans a little on the salty side), and the wait staff is great and friendly. My only real gripe is the prices are insane for what you get. My friend and I stopped in over the summer to get a drink and share a dessert, and when the bill came, I just about fell out of my seat! Nearly $100 for two Grey Goose martinis and a dessert. The martinis were $30 each! As a former bartender and someone whos been in the service industry for over a decade, Ive never charged or paid that much for a GG martini (outside of working in Vegas). I mean, I can buy a bottle of Grey Goose for that price. I get the markups for booze, but damn! Thats just crazy! Seeing that on my bill definitely made it a memorable experience, though
Grilled oysters are to die for, great vibe and excellent service.
Both fish were perfectly cooked along with the pasta being perfectly Al denté. The pesto pasta was especially delicious.
Absolutely delicious food. Quality and presentation was spot on. The service was friendly and the servers know the dishes. We did feel we were rushed. even though we had a 2 hour table we were in and out in 45minutes. all the dishes came out within moments of each other (hot and cold). Trying our best to honour the chefs dish and not let them go cold. With the bill on the table before wed finished first dessert. We noticed another two tables were similarly rushed. Not what youd expect with such an expensive restaurant
One of the very few places that are consistent in the cook of any fish served. Love the thick cut fries as well.
Dined here last evening with 2 friends and the food, service and ambiance were excellent. Will definitely be back.
The servers were very nice and attentive, and refilled our waters regularly. As for the meal, the portion sizes were small! Me and my friend unfortunately left feeling quite hungry. The food itself was delicious with creative flavour combinations. I won t be back, however this is a good experience to have!
Everything tastes amazing
Service is really impressive, unfortunately a number of the items ordered didnt impress as much. Overall the food is good but doesnt quite justify the cost versus other restaurants I like. The French Fries appetizer was surprisingly my favorite part of our meal. That said, Oddfish is very popular and maybe just not the perfect match for my preferences.
The food was delicious. The branzino was perfectly cooked. Both the raw and grilled oysters were amazing. Fantastic service and wonderful ambiance.
Best spot for seafood! Oysters and mussels were delicious. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely will be coming back!
Golfer than good better that bet
Food and drinks were delicious. I dont give 5 stars easily.
The servers were prompt and very comfortably professional. Even though it was a super busy evening, our server, Ashley, took time to get to know us and talk to us about their menu. Their vongole & prawn diavolo spaghetti dishes were amazing, and I like the overall vibe of the restaurant, energetic & vibrant. Strongly recommend for a nice dine out place in Kits area. It would be about $50/person for a shared appy, dish & drink.
Really nice restaurant and menu if you like fish, with fully vegetarian options too. If the chef is reading: I would personally use something finer and softer as the crunchy element in the Leches de Tigre Ceviche. But really nice and agreeable, certainly to be experienced.
Prices can sneak up on you but portions were good and the food is great.
Went here prior to a Bard on the Beach performance and absolutely loved it. The grilled octopus was the best we have ever had, and the mussels in coconut broth were also excellent. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for high quality seafood dishes showcasing the best of the west coast.
Great Food and Ambiance. The service by Tony was exceptional as well.
Fantastic quality food and experience. The corn appetizer was unique and on another level.
Great buzzy restaurant, really good food and great service.
Probably the best meal Ive had Im some time. Absolutely loved Oddfish for the food, atmosphere and service. The ceviche was sublime, burrata was amazing and the fish mains and sides were all excellent. Yum!
The food and service is pretty average. The menu is quite small but good! If you like olives you should try the Mixed Olives as a starter. Is good in there but no reason to come back.
Went to Oddfish for a fancy meal. Same folks that run Nook and Tavola. This place is popular, especially in the summer. It was packed on a Tuesday evening. - Kanpachi crudo, serrano, lime zest ($20.00) - simple but well executed. Fresh, acidic and a touch of heat. - Prawn aguachile ceviche, cilantro, avocado ($22.00) - not much prawn but the Mexican aguachile marinade was tasty. - Seared scallops, apricot mostarda ($32.00) - scallops were excellently seared, but you only get four. The cauliflower puree underneath was good but we wanted more than a smear. - Potato wrapped halibut, green onion, tomato ($35.00) - halibut was tender. Tomato fondue was refreshing. Wanted more potato. Dont expect to be full after your meal. Small portions. 3.5 stars.
Amazing seafood! Hands down the freshest mussels I ve ever had. The fish entree was also fabulous with crispy skin. The prawn ceviche was quite acidic but still delicious. Oysters were juicy and fresh. I only wish the waiter was more warm and welcoming.
Fabulous seafood, extremely fresh. Cozy seating, great view of the kitchen as food is prepared. Accomadating of alergies, excellent cocktail choices! Great waitstaff!
We enjoyed an excellent seafood dinner at the Oddfish 2 months ago. We were back in Vancouver again and decided to have dinner at the Oddfish again. Again, excellent and friendly service. ReDy for our third dinner next time in Vancouver!!!
I ve been here many times before but only a few times by myself. This time as a solo diner I was sat at the table by the kitchen. My server was so amazing, she didn t make me feel rushed cause I was solo dining. The food was amazing. Wanted to thank the chefs personally but they were so busy. I ll definitely be back for solo dining and with friends. The watermelon salad was amazing
Great spot to have seafood focused dishes. We tend to enjoy their appetizers more than their entrees. It s a small and quaint space which can get lively (and loud). Service is good but food came quite a bit slower as service got busy.
Great place to take your parents!! No wrong turns on the menu
Google searched for food and had good ratings so decided to try. Server was helpful and quick. Food came out fast too. When they bring the food to the table, another person very quickly drops off and leaves. Grilled butter oyster. Came out warm, tasted good. Shrimp ceviche - good. had the right amount of citrus. How did they get exact amount of chips for the ceviche ? Mussels with two pieces of sour dough. You can get Thai or white wine with mussels or clams. The mussels texture was funny. It felt like it was soaked in water and the mussel texture was very soft. Thai sauce was ok. Pasta was simple. The noodles were very al dente. Didn t have much taste. Hey sailor. Loved the Smokey whiskey but the entire drink was lemon. I think I have heart burn. Overall, it was decent.
Last night Pleasant service, however felt much more pub style than restaurant. Great oysters served perfectly, asian veggies with cheese(?) & a very acidic scallop sauce. The topper was the halibut, Ichthyologist I am not, but that was some type of cod, not halibut, however it was, GREAT. 4yrs ago, Note the name, they were sold out of salmon, halibut and cod. Only item left on their fresh sheet was scallops on a Saturday night. Service and room were nice.
Odd fish restaurant takes pride in what they do! Love this place. Fresh and tasty seafood dishes with excellent service. We ordered the fresh oysters, mussels and fries and then the potato crusted halibut as well as the sole piccata. They were all so good that now it s stuck in my head and palate for such great foods. Our server was also outstanding. Totally recommend.
Great seafood spot in Vancouver. We especially lived the Halibut Crudo and the Mussels. Everything was excellent. Nothing too fancy or novel but everything was very fresh and tasty. Nice ambience too.
Amazing food and service
The pan seared scallops were fantastic. Perfect crust on both sides, and cooked perfectly. Brussel sprouts were also very tasty, with a nice mild spicy kick while being loaded with a mountain of parmesan, slightly warmed and stretchy from being shaved right on top of the parmesan.
Everything we ordered was delicious, but the halibut ceviche was particularly exceptional! Service was great too.
The tuna tataki was my favourite dish. The octopus carpaccio was definitely the most unique. The fish, vegetable, and dessert tasted exactly how I expected it to taste. One thing that stood out for sure was the service. The waiter was super sweet and always came to check up on every table.
I found the food really good. Fresh ingredients and skillful preparation. Drinks were really good too. The waiters were lovely too, however they forgot to bring the 2nd drink I ordered :D.
10/10 would recommend Weve been here on multiple occasions and always leave impressed and completely satisfied with the quality of the food and the service. The menu continuously changes but it is always great includes GF, DF options. Great for sharing with a group of people or for a business dinner. Love the heated outdoor patio for the summer/ winter.
Wasn t a fan of pasta before until I had Mushroom Linguine bonus-it has some spice perfectly to my taste. For sure will go back and order few to go
We had not just an incredible dinner here, but also a magnificent dining experience. The restaurant has an ever-changing specials menu based on what s fresh from the sea. Two of us ordered the blood orange octopus carpaccio and it was to die for. Mains were delicious too- thai mussels, scallops and piccata. The ambiance here is fantastic- and the service was amazing. Our server and sommelier really knew the menu & had excellent pairing suggestions. We will 1000% be back. What a fantastic evening
Food is good
We had a great time exploring the dishes here. The sashimi tasting plate was was very good. The scallop we had was too salty in the first place, but they fixed it for us. The beats salad is also tasty.
Oddfish was a great experience overall! Excellent food with lots of different dishes to try, fantastic service that was genuinely helpful, and a lively atmosphere. We shared about 6 different dishes and liked all of them! Awesome spot for a special occasion, youll have to make a reservation.
